Chapter 128:Issues
Inside the streets of mistral right now people where going about their day like usually unknown to the upcoming threat that will strike their captail. As in the middle level of the kingdom right now was eria and company traveling through the streets toward where falk dropped his ship off. As they did they passed by some people minding their business right now
Their where stall owners trying to sell their new product to anyone who passed by weather that be food or some jwlery that is properly fake. While their where weapon vendors showing of their new weapons they eithered made of procured to the public. Their was also people selling dust crystal and jars to anyone who needed any. Along with someone using tarrot cards to read someone fortune. As they walked neptune eyed some of the stuff they passed
"Man its so weird to be in the capital. I mean i visited it a few times for when my mom wanted to watch any of our family swim meets"neptune commented
"Swim meets? What are you talking about right now?"may questioned
"Its quite simply neptune and his family are known to be skilled swimmer. Actually back in argus we even had a swim team in sanctum. Right their in one of the cases their is a award dedicated to his older brother jupiter"eria explained
The waterphobe sighed looking down at the mention of his family one trait swimming while hes deathly afraid of water since forever.
"Yeah but i'm afraid of water which doesn't mix well. Though being a huntsman was right up my level"neptune added making some snicker at that
"Dude your semblance is attracting water….how is that any better. What you just gonna point your pointy stick at any grimm"merucyr joked as the blue haired boy stared at him
"What you gonna kick a arma geiges with your metal legs or something"he spat back but he had a rebuttal
"Actually i did which resulted in said legs becoming blown into small little piece. Main reason we stopped at knight boy sister place"merucry added
"Oh right your sister that must have been nice. Let me guess she said embarrassing things about jaune"Weiss joked making the blonde knight blush slightly before nora laughed for a moment
"She did but are we sure its safe with weiss walking around. I mean people might recognize her face right now. "Nora said as weiss didn't have her hood up but hide her new faunus traits though what made it alright was because beidou was wearing an atlas military bage on her chest that showed who she was.
"Don't worry with me around she'll be fine. News believe girly over here is safe and sound rescued by those guys. Though never took your mom to be ballsy to fake a kidnapping. Though wanna hear somehting funny"beidou asked making them confused
"What would that be exactly?"eria questioned codlly as the special ops soldier turned toward weiss with a smirk
"Your mom and little brother are very lucky because the general is working his tail off to put jacuqe in jail. Hes got powerful friends in high places but don't worry two councilman are on his side along with mactavish"beidou explained which made the heiress wide eyed
The tail under her coat moved around a little which falk noticed placing a hand on her shoulder
"Calm down snow angel we get it your excited. But uh sucks you gotta hide your face man"falk said to the grimm hybrid. As zane had his hood up right now trying to not get seen at that moment but he sighed looking down.
"Guess i gotta get used to it. After where done here i'll either be found out then locked up or have to be in hiding for the rest of my life. Fantastic"he said in a bleak tone concerning eria even more because he was also so happy all the time making jokes whenever
"Man you have a bleak outlook on everything. Come on where the dumb jokes you did back in beacon"mercury asked
"He right because seriously its weird seeing you act like this. All serious come on smile"nora said putting her finger on each side of his lips making him smile but he smacked her hand away before staring her down.
"We got a job to do right now. White fang could be on the horizon right now and we need to clean house on this warehouse now. Along with grabbing some things from falk ship to assist us. Were burning daylight…move it"he said picking up speed toward their destination but this made them shock because he was acting very different right now.
They remembered him being the lovable jokesteer of beacon but now he seemed very cold right now.
"Okay he never acted like that right?"bashira questioned
"Uhhhh no thats a little weird. I get that the white fang could be coming any second today but honestly that scares me. I am not kidding weird to see him acting like that"mercury admitted
The atlasian soldier sighed rubbing her face knowing what this was right now because its when he get serious.
"Cut him some slack this is how he acts when something on the line. On base he would joke around when he got the chance. But on missions its like a switch that flips he turns all serious making sure he doesn't mess up"beidou said as they kept walking which made eria concerned if he might not be his normal self every again.
"Ummm….does he usually act like that because he seemed different. I kinda miss my old leader right now"eria admitted because this upset her.
"Well hes acting like he did on our way to menagerie. I mean seriously when we saw the place under attack he issued out orders like some miltary captain. Along with staying up to make sure we were successful…kinda creepy."may admitted on her new boyfriend
Though they started to pick up pace to where they had store falk ship for the time being. The academy wouldn't allow them to keep it their so they housed it at a nearby storage area. That being a medium size building that had a parking lot like area behind it. It was protected by a large wired fence with barbs wire on it. Their was also a sign on it
Inspecting it closer weiss saw that it was a warning sign for eletiricity which means the fence was electrified.
"Alright so no one touch the fence because its electrified"weiss warned
Although nora was reaching out to touch it with a figner as bashira noticed this. The tall girl pulled the ginger haired girl back away from the hazard wondering if she alwasy did this back at beacon or something
"Hey! Are you dense or something she just said its dangerous for you to touch that gingy"bahsira scolded
"Actually she would be fine touching anything electric. Because nora semblance works sort of like peruns she is immune to eletiricty but she still get hurt by it. Though she can harness the energy as a strength booster for harder hits. We even had a strategy where we shoot eletirc dust at her"jaune explianed which made her stare at them then the girl in her grip still trying to touch fence
Instead of testing that theory she dragged her inside the storage area. As they all decided to walk inside as a bell rung signaling the owner they had customer. It was a simple waiting room with a desk along with some chairs.
The employee behind noticed the group greeting them"hello their can i help you today. If your here to rent or buy any ships someone left. I can grab the manager for you to sign a contract"he asked
"No thanks i'm actually here for my ship the cargo ship with the cackling beowulf on it. Heres my ID"falk said showing him his ID. the employer then grabbed a scanner as he scanned it then types of his holo computer for a moment. Then falks face popped up before the man reached down below for the key.
"Heres the key for device keeping it from getting taken. Its in lot seven"he said as they nodded taking a side door.
It wasn't a long walk as they passed by several ships lining the lot. They were all different types and classes of ship from simply cargo freighter. Bullheads that had crude paintjobs even a few luxury style cars that seemed to be left behind or more like stolen
Soon they arrived to falk ship the cackling gull as the pilot sighed in relief seeing it. Then he walked over to a small console that was holding it in palce. Because a large clamp like device was on the engine of the ship. Swiping the keycard in the slot.
The console beep then a large metal clanking noise could be heard which was the thing holding the ship in place. Then he walked over pressing a ramp as it came down as the ones who haven't seen his ship examined it. Stepping inside nora was in awe of the ship glancing around it right now seeing what it has to offer.
"Whoa this is your ship? How'd you get your hands on something like this?"merucyr questioned whsilting admiring the interior of the ship.
"Simply i bought it though i got pilot training back in atlas. Though heres my number one rule"he paused before getting in all their faces
"Do not touch anything in here without my permission. Epseiclaly for you nora! You have a reputation i heard of breaking things"falk warned pointing his figner at his eyes then at her saying he watching her.
Though soon they found what they were looking for as zane grabbed a pyrbar sticking it in a crack. Then he lifted it up opening the crate on what they brought that being strange looking charge. Along with that a bunch of cylinder like objects with some gas mask in the mix. Their was alot of dust boxes and ammo in their as well.
"Whoa what is this stuff looks like gear military would have"bashira said picking up a gas mask
"Its stuff from talon. We dismantled their base back on the island but they left a few goodies for us. I mean seriously they even have cloaking tech and several paladins with them. I don't even know how they got those"may replied
"My guess they stole the plans off the one the white fang stole that night in vale"neptune suggested which actually made alot of sense if you think about it
"Makes sense. Good job waterboy for that little deduction but why did we come for these exactly?"Eria questioned picking up one of those strange square but her leader smack her hand away from it as she dropped it
"Careful with those. Their shaped breaching charges those things can kill something with that many in the box. Lucky for you they aint armed right now"zane said before slipping his pack off stuffing a couple of them in their along with grabbing few of the grenade like canister and gas mask. Then he slipped the back on.
"Okay dude telling us not to touch them would've been fine"mercury argued but he didn't listen walking outside the ship. They didn't argue as they followed him with falk boarding his ship to bring it back to the academy to evacuate any of the others family out of the city just in case they needed to.
Though they started to follow the coordinates on the map they were given. After maybe a half hour walk through the city they reached the edge where the forest was but strangely no guards stopped them which confused them. But they didn't mind right now as they soon arrived at their target
They hide behind some shrubs staring at the warehouse right now as just pulling up to it was a cargo truck. The truck was stopped by some guards those being knuckelduster with automatic weapon. Though they chekced the truck out before opening the garage letting them through
"Okay where here. What do you see over their may?"bashira asked
The sniper blinked switching through her types of feed with her prosthetic eye. It took a bit till she got to her thermal vision. From what she could tell the entrance they saw just now is too heavily guarded with about six guards that are packing some serious heat. As she began to scan around
"Their only six of them but their all too close for us to take out quietly….althought"she paused before eyeing a side entrance that had only two guards their in the middle of taking a smoke break right now. She pulled her sniper down then her beanie before motioing toward the two. They nodded following her as they quietly made their way over luckily.
Once they got over they ducked behind some destroyed rubbles that was in an adjacent building. Though they needed to come up with a plan to distract the guards
"So we just rush in and punch them in the skulls to knock them out"neptune said with nora nodding with her hammer at the ready
"Nah lets do this quietly….i think we need one of you to play damsel in distress."beidou said as quickly weiss put her hands up at that. Nora didn't seem to fit the bill and bashira wasn't going to do that again. Which only left may who sighed before unzipping her jacket to present a bit of clevage as she exhaled for a moment. As she was ready to go she felt a hand on her shoulder which was zane which confused her. Then he shifted into his prowler form as she nodded
As the two guards where both taking a fulfilling smoke break soon enough may came rushing around the corner with a scared look. The two immediately drew their weapon at her.
"Whats are you doing here this area is KD territory"a guard warned
"I'm sorry i…i my friend needs help right now please…i will kindly repay you if you do"may said sweetly hoping they would buy it. This made the two guards glance at each other before looking at her chest region nodding to her. Then the two of them holstered their weapon as one stepped foward winking to his other gang member they might be lucky.
"Well little lady we'd be glad to help you out. Whats wrong with your friend"he asked wrapping an arm around her as she could already feel him groping her chest. Though she glanced up at the wall to see zane slowly moving his way down as his claws dug into the concrete. Then before the two knew it the sniper threw his arm off twisting it around before shoving him toward his friend
They were confused by this but zane struck as he poucned on the two of them which caught them offgaurd. One was about to yell but he punched them in the throat as he let out a small noise. The second tried to pick up his rifle but zane immedialty tail whipped his hand knocking it out of the way. Quickly in a swift motion he slammed the first head into a wall knocking them unconscious. Then he grabbed the other by the arm before flipping them onto the ground
The others came over as may zipped up her jacket though zane wrapped his forearm around the thugs neck. Then made a cross shape with his arms as the thug kept tapping on his arms to let him go as he kept kicking. Until eventually he choked him out as he fell unconscious on the ground
"Whoa now thats impressive should have shown those move back in beacon"mercury commented as he mottled off his armor.
"Cut the chatter. We need to get to the roof then have some of us breach the room."he said as nora stepped forward with her hammer at the ready
"You guys get to the roof i thunder thighs will smash the door open"nora said but immediately he shot that down
"No head to the roof with may."he ordered confusing her for a moment before looking toward her leader wondering if she should. Jaune hesitated for a moment before nodding as her man got to the roof. They were right next to a ladder access as the two of them began to climb up to the roof waiting for their signal
"Okay…now what we just gonna go through the front door. Because apparently your taking charge grimm buy"bashira smugly said as he pulled up his bandana before patting down the thugs for a moment. Then he found something that being a key as he eyed a nearby stair case leading upwards.
"We need to dive and conquer key gotta be both these doors. Mercury, jaune, eria, weiss on me for this door. The rest take the second floor to provide overwatch and suppressing fire and deal with hostiles on that level"he ordered making them eye each other before they did just that. Immediately beidou lead neptune and bahsira up the stairs to the second floor slowling placing the key inside it.
Slowly opening the door lucky enough they ended up in a office space like area seeming to be the foremans office. The three got situated inside the room as bashira pered inside at something. That being fifteen people down below ranging from knuckleduster, white fang members and crimson talon soldiers. With a couple of them being operators as she placed a figner on her ear pieces
"May, nora you seeing things on the rooftop"she said
"We do. We have a vantage point from a nearby skylight look up we see you in the office"may said as he looked up to see may waved her down as nora was their waving alot. Then with the others outside mercury placed a finger on his earpiece
"How many are in the room right now?"he asked as it took a few moment for her to answer till she came back
"Fifteen with the other six about twenty one. Whats the plan"She radioed
"Plan is we breach down here, you two provide covering fire on the roof. Nora use smokescreens to blind them. "Zane said before reaching in his pack pulling out the shape charge. He unfolded it before pressing two end of it on the door. Then he crossed a couple wires before grabbing the denator at the ready.
Then he gave a count down with his fingers as mercury cracked his knuckle as jaune raised his shield ready to go. Along with weiss having her sword drawn as eria drew her new weapon in hand. As he reached zero with his figner he pressed the trigger blowing the door wide opened
Immediately they rushed inside catching the soldiers and thugs offguard as carol was their who went wide eyed before growling pointing at them
"We got company! Open fire on them now!"she ordered as the thugs began to open fire upon the group. But they all quickly cover as jaune activated the hard light dust on his shield blocking any oncoming gunfire their way. As eria was behind him
The soldiers and thug began to advance on them as some thugs began to try and grabb some guns from a storage crate. Though they where soon opened fire upon as one was hit in the leg knocking them to the ground. The second was shto with electric that made him cunvusle until he feel to the ground
As now firing at them was neptune with her plasma rifle out firing off bolts of eletiricity at them. As bashira provided covering fire with her assault rifle raining down bullets on them. As beidou fired back at them with a standard issued atlas assault rifle.
"What the hell! Crap we gotta warn the others they found our last hideout!"a white fang shouted as she rushed to a nearby radio. She began to twist the knobs on the ham radio though the crashing of glass could be heard as a purple beam hit her in the back knocking her down. May began raining down covering fire on anyone behind cover. Nora got her grenade launcher out before launching smoke grenades down below.
This covered most of the warehouse right now as they tired their best to see right now. Though in the smoke a soldier tried to adjus their vision until suddenly several glowing circles appeared all over the smoke. Then eventually a barrage of fireballs started to be shot at them hitting them in the chest laucnhing them into a wall hard as they slumped over
The smoke was too thick though carol coughed from the smoke before grabbing something. That being a green dust shard as she tossed it far enough away to smash then a gust of wind form clearing out the smoke. Though they were soon met by the others on the first floor attacking them
As mercury leaped forward into the fray at a thug as he reeled his fist back pucnhign them in the gut. The thug swung back but he side stepped the swing predicting it as he leg sweeped him knocking the soldier flat on his back. Then he kicked him in the jaw with his metal legs.
Then he began to fire back at them with elementally dust shots toward one white fang member. He fired two blast of condense air at them making them stumble from the two airblast. Then he pivoted his feet before launching a ball of ice toward them which connected sending them flying into a wall. They where stuck to a wall struggling to get free at that moment from their confinement.
With jaune the knight was met by a sword of a white fang member as the two got locked into a power struggled
"You humans will pay for messing with our affairs! Havan will be burned to the ground by tomorrow!"the white fang said pushing him back as he steady himself
The white fang grunt then started to use their nimble speed to slash at him several times trying to break or chip away at his aura. Though he kept blocking each strike with his shield raising it up high avoiding his hits. Though eventually with another attack from the white fang member
The ending result of the attack made them stumble giving jaune an oppurntiy as he shield bashed them to the ground. Then as they fell onto their butt he slashed at them shattering their aura that was small as they fell to the ground
With eria she was using her semblance to create a path of ice on the ground as she skated across the ground. A crimson talon soldier was firing a machine gun at her trying to make her trip as a few bullets hit her. Though it barely took her aura down by alot as she pivoted her feet rushing toward him
Deciding to try this new weapon out she drew her new weapon dubbed icepick as she aimed down the sight. Pressing down on the trigger a few times three silent shot came out with one hitting him in the leg, the second the stomach and lastly the chest chipping his aura down. As the soldier regained his balance she switched to her bat
Then she reeled her bat back before swinging it forward right into the soldier face cracking their goggles and mask. This sent him flying into a thug weiss was dealing with before swapping glances with her nodding thanking her. Curiously she glanced at her leader
As right now zane was dodging strikes from the two operators trying to kill him. One fired a suprressed pistol at him as the second tried to cleave his head off his shoulder. But he had out his dual swords as he blocked the strikes from the sword wielidng attacker. Then he guided him away tossing him out of the way before going after the soldier shooting at him
The operator kept firing shot upon shot at him trying to slow him down. But he riased both his swords deflecting his shots right back at him as a couple hit him. Then as he got close to him the soldier pressed down on a trigger but only heard a click saying he was out of ammo. Next thing he knew was zane slashed at him several times in quick succession with his sword. The whacked them behind the head with its handle
The second operator came right back at him though he got warned in time by the voice in his head doding the strike. Then as the operator stumble he fixed himself swinging his sword at him but zane turned into his titan form dropping both sword. Then he caught it with both hands before snapping it half. The operator was left with a broken sword then was gripped by his arm as zane was twisting it pulling his arm out of socket breaking it.
Carol saw this as a losing battle trying to run away but was stopped by neptune shooting her in the leg with ice dust immbolzing her. Soon enough they dealt with the rest of the thugs and the ones outside. May and nora rejoined them
"I'd call this a good job this was the last cell before we deal with the speakeasy"weiss said wiping her hands
"I know right and look in the truck they were carrying weapons."neptune pointed out to the trucks cargo being a shipment of weapons. Though they decided make them unsuable as they opened the garage. Then placed the truck in break before pushing it out of the garage. Though they placed some explosives in it but they;ll blow it up before they leave.
"Now with that done. We just gotta wait for the spider to lock them up"jaune said though carol laughed at that
"You really think this can hold us long brat? Though beidou….pleasure to see your ugly mugg again"carol said as she shot her a glare
"Carol darling…guess making those cadet drop down with hypothermia landed you here after you got kicked out"she spat back
"They were weak. They needed to toughen themselves up least here my boss pays me handsomely helping train the new guys with our captain. Though this meeting will be short"carol taunted as the special ops soldier knelt infront of her
"I don't think so because your going to tell us what you know right now."beidou threatened as she wasn't phaze though they guessed what she was going to do.
"Don't tell us your thinking of torurting her their are laws in the military that say you can't do that"weiss said knwoignly though something seemed to flip with zane. As he walked over undoing his hidden blade before jamming it in carol shoulder as she roared in pain. This caught them offgaurd that he did that.
"Dude what are you doing?!"neptune shotued before he turned back at them scoffing
"Getting intel. How do you think i got the intel for menageire integrating one of hassan lientenauts. He cracked after 30 minutes…you will too"he said before reeling his fist back socking her in the skull hard making her head whip back. Carol had a bloody mouth spitting at his feet smiling
"Good luck with that freak….your worth alot of money to us now. Watts will be happy to–"she was stopped as he punched her in the jaw again. Then he dragged her over toward a glass window before bashing her face through it shattering it to pieces. Their were glass shards in her hair as he forced her against a wall. Then he grabbed a fistful of glass shards before forcing them into her mouth
This startled them eria especially seeing this side of him as he began to punch her in the face several times. Nora was even scared looking at jaune who was stunned because they've never seen this side of him before. Zane kept punching her in the mouth several times harder and harder until eventually blood started to soak his hands. As eria had enough
"Enough! Stop it right now you idiot!"she demanded but he wasn't as she walked over dragging him off as he stared her glaring.
"Okay that isn't right. That is too brutal even for someone like her you need to relax"bashira said
"What too scared to get dirty. Well they don't deserve to be treated nice….if we want intel let me work. If i taught anything it was too get answer from people like her"he said with malice as carol was coughing and hacking as she spat out a piece of glass in her mouth as blood dripped from her lips. Her nose was broken with a bruise starting to form on her eye
Eria though glared at him grabbing him to face her before slapping him hard on the face
"You are not doing that! Because right now as your teammate this needs to stop now! Go outside because when we get back to the school where talking about this!"she demanded as he growled at her like an animal before scoffing heading outside to wait. Then they all shared some looks as eria was worried if he alright because those bags might be from lack of sleep affecting him mentally.
Although back at the academy right now in the forge more importantly was ruby and company. As they were working very hard right now making any defnese they might need for when havan becomes under attack. Helping her with the task was rogue, ame, asani and lastly velvet as their group where the best with weapons and making things
Right now velvet was working on making some small dust bombs. They weren't meant to kill anyone more like knock them as she loaded in a electric dust crystal into a slot. Then she carefully screwed in the lid before compelting her invention
"I got another one done here how many is that now?"she asked
The rabbit walked over placing it on a table with a bunch of others ones right now as checking them over was ame who had a clippbaord
"With these and the ones outside the spider are setting up….about twenty three of them now. They take alot of time to make but their also very useful in this situation"ame replied
"Great because where going to need anything right now. If they do arrive right now these can slow them down long enough for blake and the others to arrive"ruby replied as she was working on loading some dust clips with asani right now
The two girls where just sitting their as ruby went at a decent pace. Though asani was alot faster at it as she managed to load two clips before she got done with her. They were helping the spider load some non lethal rounds into their weapon
Barney tried to argue with them saying they could be the ones to kill a few people though ruby pushed it. As him and his gang where about to argue till she used her secret weapon being her cutness which works on anyone maybe even a grimm.
Although the two girls where very quiet right now as it made the current atmosphere around them tense at the moment. As neither of them talked for a moment before she decided to strike up some conversation
"So ummm asani do you wanna talk about anything?"ruby asked
This made the girl fumble for a moment before dropping the magazine on the ground as she yelped getting meg attention who was their keeping an eye on them. The women rushed over concerned at that moment
"Dear are you alright did something happen"meg asked concerned placing a hand near her. But this made her flinch shivering right now as she had her mask on with a scare emoticon right now as she shield her head. Though right now the magazine she held had her glove slightly caught in it
"I'm sorry…i…i didn't break anthing…i didn't damage anything…please don't hit me again….not again"she queitly cried begging stunning the women wondering what happened to her. But she gently placed a hand on her helmet making her flinch. Though she placed both hands on it freaking her out more
"Dear take the helmet off it'll make working right now harder. I just want to see if your alright"meg soothed as the girl hesitantly did but she got the helmet off revealing her with a simple face having a birth mark on her right eye. The girl thought she find her digusting right now
"Their we go that better. This little thing is impressive i'll say but wearing such a stuffy thing will make it harder to work in this environment"meg said stunning her as the girl looked down for a moment
"You…you aren't going to call me disgusting or that i was a mistake"she asked stuttering confusing her
"Now i wouldn't call someone that. For starter i know from experience how it feels to be called those names. Though its just a little birth mark i mean alot of people have them even me"meg said putting her right foot up. Then she pulled her shoe off to reveal a birthmark on her ankle in the shape of rabbit ears. Ruby noticed it giggling.
"It kinda looks like a pair of rabbit ears"she pointed out as the rabbit put her shoe on
"Yes people always point that out when they see it. I mean i'm born and rabbit but i'm born with that i mean the irony am i right?"she asked as velvet chuckled
"Your not wrong mom though your glove is stuck in the magazine"velvet pointed out making her freeze seeing that. Then she tried to get it out but the fabric was being torn a little at that action which ruby noticed deciding to help her out
"You might need to take your glove off to get it out. It'll rip"she said reaching over but the girl jumped like she had a knife before gripping the glove on her hand tight right now shaking in fear. As she noticed her having tears beginning to form
"i…i..no…i …its fine where it is…i can just get a spare glove from the workshop here"she argued but ame sighed because she had the struggles of finding gloves to match her prosthetic along with working with it
"Come on it'll only be a second here i'll show you"ame said as the girl tried to stop her as ame removed the glove. Then in an instant she pulled it easily out of the slot before looking at her
"She that wasn't too…hard"ame said before going wide eyed seeing the girl hand looking very burned. Like someone poured acid all over which made meg gasp seeing that though asani started to shake holding her right arm in fear right now. Ruby noitced her destressed before placing a hand on her shoulder making her flinch
"Hey its okay….are you…scared of people seeing that? Did you burn your hand recently?"she asked concerned as the girl froze up gasping slightly for air beginning to have a small panic attack. Though meg pulled her over as the girl was shaking before rubbing her head gently
"Calm down no one here will mess with you for having that….i…talked to your mother where you came from. Though i don't mind it was useful in the end"ame said placing her arm back on as the girl began to calm down as ruby handed her the glove as she slipped it back on bowing her head
