Ciana wasn't sure when she fell asleep the night before school resumed, but she became hyper aware of her surroundings, another lucid dream. No, the mindscape or whatever it's called. This time, crumbling ruins didn't greet her, instead, it was her classroom, the desks and chairs pushed aside for a single, square table and two stools. When she saw who sat there waiting, her heart plummeted to her chest with a small gasp.
"Hello again, little pawn, it's been... two, three days since we met face to face?" Meru Zena offered a wave, eyeing a chessboard on the table. "Won't you join me for a game while we have this rare opportunity?" His tail waved for her to come forward.
Ciana was really hoping to avoid these sick dreams she has with this guy… but she certainly didn't expect him to offer to play a chest game, Ciana was still frightened of this man but remembered what Bakugo told her… she tries not to shake up as her fists clenched and her eyes glare at him disgusted by his creepy motives.
"First off, my name is Ciana! I'm not your pawn and I never agreed to be one!" Ciana yelled, now crossing her arms as she stood where she was. "I assume you're not really here just to offer me to play some game with you… if you're here to get me to agree to help you or threaten my friends again then you can just forget it!" Ciana stood her ground with her glare still eyeing the monster.
"You know, our situation isn't something anyone has witnessed before," He spoke, unperturbed by her outburst as he moved a pawn forward two steps. "As for your title, it is simply what you are, what you chose to remain as, I can't be insulting you if its the truth, but alas, I rather not stir more bad blood between us," He raised his head, hands interlocked and propped up by the elbows. "I simply wish to answer whatever questions you may have, Ms Finley, now that no heroes will bother us - oh, I do ask, I hope my actions didn't cause them too much discomfort, I did try to hold back,"
Despite being forced to move closer she continued to glare at the monster in front of her after he let her stand again. Now crossing her arms while continuing eyeing him. "You only caused them to want to figure out your motives, you completely kidnapped me from my own world without even giving me a choice to begin with!" Ciana yelled, knowing this guy isn't anyone good to reason with.
"I will ask though… Why exactly is it me you want? From what I heard there's other quirkless people in your world too you could have used instead of me, but instead you just snatched a person from another world without quirks into this one. I can't be anything special to even be able to help you with any plans you could possibly need me for, so why did you take me out of everyone you could have used in this world instead?" Ciana at least questions him this as she has wondered why he wanted to use her specifically.
Now seated in front of him, Meru kept his forward posture, eyes unblinking as he motioned silently to the board. Reluctantly, Ciana eyed the pieces and moved on to start the game. He did the same, moving another. "To answer to a degree, the reason it had to be someone from another world was part of the deal, to what end? I'm certain, the one that gave me the strength needed to open a rift between our worlds simply stated in order to enact our plans there are three key components. The first two, one of another world and one from this world, the third is the one that will open the rift,"
"In order to tether you to my world and vice versa he spliced my quirk so that on contact with a host of my choosing they would inherit my power, that in turn leads to the final stage, to create an equilibrium between Life Force and Aura, transferring that power to the rift maker so that their quirk is forcibly evolved to open gates between worlds naturally, with that, those that follow me would be free to leave this awful world behind," Ciana didn't miss the disdain in his tone at the end as again he moved a piece after her.
Ciana was very confused about what she's been told so far, her expression showed that as she eyed the board and the guy haunting her dreams. "Okay wait… you wanted to use me so you would create a way for you to leave this world behind?" She definitely could not understand that motive.
"Why would you want to do that? This world is where you were born with people like you, if you just enter my world then people would be afraid of your power and appearance, not to mention they probably want to catch and experiment on you…" Ciana knew her people won't take a frightening appearance well and go to extreme measures to study them.
"Your concern is grateful, but it's not your world I care for, to be blunt," He shook his head, moving another and knocking a piece from her side of the board. "I cannot go into the specifics of the catalyst with the ability to open rifts, but once their quirk evolves, we can go anywhere, now that I've been made aware that worlds exist beyond our own, there are countless out there my allies can call home, and whatever happens to this world, so be it," Meru shrugged as Ciana took one of his pieces.
"I'll answer this for you, I do genuinely feel sorry for your loss, your mother was a brave woman, she gave her life so that others may live, but... the people of your world, like the ones here, spin their own tales of justice, and innocent lives are ruined, so, when we scouted for a suitable host, as we could not maintain a rift between our worlds for long, I can only provide so much energy before I would've collapsed, I am still recovering from the backlash," He rasped, clearing his throat. "When I saw your background, I felt a kinship with you, that's what made me choose you,"
Ciana was taken back by more he was telling her, he didn't want to go to her world but wanted to try finding another? What did he mean about this world if he succeeded…? That's what frightened her so far.
"Just because I lost my mother due to how others did not step in to help her… doesn't mean I feel envious of wanting to hurt others, I admit I was angry they only relied on the authorities… but we can't help but be scared of what happened unexpectedly." Ciana softened up her expression a little. "From how long I spend in this world, I saw how strong and determined other people are to help those in need and well to achieve their dreams to become someone people can rely on, maybe not many have the same motives but the people I met are just as kind and are willing to do anything to aid to those that need them." Ciana clearly grew fond of this world just from a few months she spent.
"What do you mean that you don't care what happened to this world anyways? Is there some kind of consequence when you achieve your goal…?" Ciana was almost too afraid to hear what he would say.
Meru didn't speak for a moment, choosing his next move carefully before replying. "There are people in this world who strive for a better tomorrow, I have met and I have seen as much. Most Pros you hear of only care for fame and glory, not all but they plague the world. And the higher ups? Hmph, they would stamp out anything or anyone that threatened them," To emphasize, he raised a claw. "Did you know that the HPSC has their own pawns to silence any people, villain, hero, or otherwise, from threatening not just the people but their image? Though I suggest not speaking to boldly about that publicly, I'd rather not have you suffer because of their greed and self-entitlement,"
He sat up straight, taking another two pieces of Ciana's. "As I've stated before, so long as no one gets in our way, I won't have to retaliate, no one will die, but they certainly won't be getting back up for a while, enough people have died for similar causes, some among my allies cannot stand anymore death, so I'd rather keep it as a self-defence at a last resort," Meru replied, rubbing his skull on the nose. "You're not too bad at this, I always enjoy a new player."
Ciana didn't want to believe what he's saying about this world as her glare came back to show how serious she is and un-frightened, not wanting to show anymore fear towards this man. "Nobody is perfect but I saw hope for a better future in this world! People may judge someone for being different but that's just what makes us strong inside to encourage us to do more! I met hero's and people in training that didn't care how you were born, you saw how my friend spoke up to you before!"
She refers to Izuku as she remembered how loyal he was to her in that moment for her. "People could have just changed how they looked at me and called me a freak or a mistake… but instead they all accepted me as a part of them and wanted to save me from being caught by you!" She spoke out more as she took a step. "I won't let you get the better of me next time! And I'm warning you if you do anything to harm my friends again then I won't hesitate to use this power you gave me to stop you from doing something that will cost this world!"
Meru sat there, listening to her outburst expectantly. "Youth today are so passionate, well, I can't say I'm not surprised, whether you aid of your own volition or are taken doesn't matter, I assure you no harm will come to the people you care for, I broke your friend's arm, that was my own fault, however-" He held up his hand as both their game and the mindscape began to crumble again. "-I will give you a warning that you best take seriously,"
He leaned forward, eyes glowing brighter, "All For One will be watching closely, his League of Villains have only just gotten started,"
Cianas eyes widened in shock to hear the last thing he mentioned, he knew about the power? He knew what Izuku inherited? This was enough to frighten her as she stared up at him with her hands going to her heart. "W-what…? W-what are you talking about…?" Ciana was afraid to know how much they knew about that power and what Izuku had…
"We're out of time, but, the man who led the this world into a dark age, before All Might presumably killed him, his name was All For One, and I dread to think what this world will become if he is allowed to fester, so I suggest you hone 'your power', little pawn," Meru stood up as their connection began to fade. "Because I will not allow our power to fall into that Demon's hands," That was certainly a threat.
When Ciana blinked, she shot up from her bed in a cold sweat, the distorted classroom and the villain gone without a trace.
Ciana took a deep breath to calm herself from the dream she had, very confused by the new dream. "W-why can't that guy just give up and leave me alone! At this rate I'm going to be too afraid to sleep alone again…" Ciana frighteningly tells herself, rubbing her arm anxiously.
"Bakugo is right… I have to give it everything I have in order for him not to get me again… how am I supposed to do that though without risking being a monster? And what was he talking about All For One…" She asks herself, putting her hand on her chin to think it over. "Maybe Izuku or Mr. Yagi will have an idea about what he meant… I should talk to them about it together." But then her gaze turned to the ceiling as a new thought came to her. "Say… when did I exactly go to sleep last night? Strangely… my memories are fuzzy… I remember Izuku was here and we were talking but everything is a blur in the end… What were we…?" Cianas thoughts paused when she began to notice a certain somebody sleeping beside her… Ciana stared at the figure for a minute as she blinked her eyes a few times in confusion… Now her eyes went wide as a red blush creeps on her face.
Ciana was taken back that Izuku was in her room with her still and sleeping in her bed now. "W-wha… w-when did he decide to sleep here?!" She asked herself in a whisper, not remembering he slept with her as she ended up being very surprised…
Slapping her cheeks lightly, she retraced her mental steps. She and Izuku talked for a bit, he said some nice things about her that made her all warm and fuzzy, one thing led to another and they wound up making out rather passionately, then... they fell asleep... together. Her hands slowly slid over her face as her blush intensified at her own request as the fog in her head cleared a little more.
"Oh god… this is humiliating… I can't believe Izuku would actually agree to test this when it would just lead us into doing something so… sensitive…" she hid her face in her hand for a minute before lifting her gaze back to Izuku while still looking very red… Wondering if he even remembers falling asleep in her room.
Ciana let out a giggle at his adorable peaceful expression, laying down to get a closer look at his face. "He sure looks really cute the way he sleeps…" Ciana smiled warmly at the display, maybe not able to resist reaching her hand out gently to stroke his cheek lovingly while staring at him…
That gentle touch was enough to rouse him from slumber, eyes parting slightly to study his surroundings, "Ciana..." He whispered, rubbing his eyes without really thinking of anything beyond his dream. Gradually, he took in the fact that it was indeed the real deal touching his face as his eyes nearly fell out of their sockets as he yelped. "A-ah, Ciana!" His surprise caused him to roll back and off her bed with a thud. "...ow... okay, real..."
Ciana was a little taken back and startled when he just woke up with a jolt and now fell off her bed… leaning over to the edge in concern for his well-being, but surprisingly this action just caused her to giggle at how adorably funny that reaction was. "Well good morning to you too…" Ciana giggled again, now eyeing him with a smile.
"Surprised to see you be the one to sleep in my room for a change… are you alright?" She asks with a tilt of her head, hoping he didn't hurt himself too badly from falling off her bed.
"Yep, all good," He raised a weak thumb, moving to sit and rest his chin on the edge of her bed. "Sorry, I guess I fell asleep a-after we..." His mind retraced its steps, and his face felt a little hotter and his lips tender from what he did. "...wow, even that alone... I-I, we did that?" He was thankful to know his theory that their control over their impulses was true, but it was still very much surprising and exciting.
Ciana was kinda hoping he would think that's all a dream to ease the awkwardness… but since he didn't, Ciana immediately turned red again as she turned her gaze away in complete embarrassment. "Uh… p-part of it could have just been a dream…" Ciana laughs sheepishly, rubbing her neck awkwardly.
"B-but it sounds like it will make another good page for your notebook…" Ciana wasn't sure if she would ever live this down… actually hoping part of it was a dream before it was interrupted by the creep again.
"I-I wouldn't keep something this p-personal in them," Izuku shook his head quickly. Was Ciana reluctant about when they did this stuff? Not sure how to express his reaction, Izuku opted to sit up on her bed again, facing her. "Ciana, a-are you... uncomfortable w-when we do those things? I mean, I understand, I-I just don't want you t-to feel like that's all there is t-to our relationship," Izuku didn't know what was the right thing to do in terms of intimacy but he knew one thing well, communication.
Ciana wasn't sure how to respond to that, her gaze still looked away as her face became much redder. "I… I-I'm honestly not sure…" her gaze went down to her fingers as she pressed them together shyly. "I-I'm just more concerned for you… I-I mean, that… was pretty intense… I-I was more worried if this would freak you out rather than me…" now her eyes shut tightly, heat creeping up in her cheeks more.
"A-at first... yes," Izuku replied, staring down at his hands on his lap. "I-I mean, it's 'me' we're talking about. I'm still coming to terms with the fact a-a really sweet girl actually... likes me the same way I do for her," His smile tugged at his lips. "But then... a-after the initial contact y-you didn't appear repulsed or reluctant by what we were doing and I just kept feeling t-this urge to make y-you happy. I-it's easier to think about n-now, though I think my heart's ready to explode s-still."
Ciana finally turned her gaze back to Izuku, she felt bad this was pushing it since they just started to date. Though in a way it was touching he wanted to please her despite going a little overboard… Ciana chuckled a little as she started to scratch her cheek shyly. "Well I'm sorry to have put you in a sensitive place… I'm just thankful you haven't passed out from all this at least."
Ciana jokes to try and ease more of the awkwardness, now smiling a little more. "If you did then I wouldn't know how I would be able to get you out of my room without making it look suspicious…" she says more playfully with another giggle at the idea.
"Ashido w-wouldn't let it go then, I'm honestly s-surprised too..." Izuku chuckled with her, meeting her green gaze. "But, j-just so you know, I put myself i-in that sensitive situation too, k-kinda goes both ways b-but it's fine, again, I don't feel awkward being near you after the fact, but if I ever do I-I'll let you know,"
She at least nods at that while keeping her shy smile on. "I-I'm glad for that at least, last thing I ever want to do is scare you off…" she rubs the back of her head again, making a mental note to go easy on kissing him next time.
Ciana clears her throat now to get past this, now looking back at him with curious eyes. "Hey Izuku… does someone or something called All For One ring any bells to you by any chance?" She now suddenly asks as her focus was back on her dream.
"'All For One'?" He cocked his head. "Just that saying you mentioned that I'm pretty sure where the name for my quirk comes from, why?"
Ciana took a deep breath to ease herself from the scary and confusing moment in her dream, her gaze turning concerned and serious. "That guy appeared in my dreams again… he said All For One will be watching… At first I thought he was talking about your power and that he knew about it… but it didn't sound exactly what I thought he meant…"
Now Izuku turned to her fully, placing a hand on her own. "All For One... One For All," Izuku murmured to himself. "All Might... he might know, i-if it's someone with a name that correlates with my quirk then... it could be bad later down the line - actually, now that I think of it, what time is it?"
"Hm?" Her eyes blinked to process his question, grabbing her new phone off her nightstand to look at the time. "It's 6 am… why?" She now asks, wondering if he had any plans besides school to ask that.
"W-wait, seriously?" Izuku blinked, "We slept from around four in the afternoon..." Then their bodies caught up to them, groaning in unison. "Ah, there it is - b-but that's not why I asked, later in the day, we should talk to All Might about this, if Zena of all people is warning us then it has to be taken seriously by his standards considering he never once concerned himself with anyone until now."
"Right… sounds like a plan then." Ciana couldn't believe they slept for that long… probably will lead to a lot of questions about what they've been up to, now sighing. "Everyday there's always something new going on… I probably should be prepared for what the teachers will want to talk to me about my situation… the other guys will probably wonder that in the dorm too once I head down."
Ciana knows she's got a lot of questions to answer to everyone… knowing Kaminari wants to talk to her too for some reason, she felt like she had a busy day besides school and hero stuff. "Anyways maybe you should head back to your room now, we wouldn't want the guys wondering where you suddenly disappeared to…" Ciana wanted to keep Izuku's reputation intact, the last thing she wanted to do is embarrass him over any suspicion…
"Sure, I'll need a shower beforehand anyway, but, about them asking questions, well..." Izuku sat up a little straighter. "M-maybe it would be better to nip the bud while we're ahead, I-I mean, if someone called for us for dinner and we didn't reply it's safe to assume a handful might have suspicions to begin with. Not saying we just wave around the fact we're together, but if anyone asks we just admit to it but ask them not to make a big deal out of it, r-respecting our privacy which I feel most of them would agree to," Izuku knew Ashido was nosy about romance and the like but she genuinely seemed to care about him and Ciana getting together enough not to start spreading rumours.
"Yeah… you're right." She smiles again toward him with a nod. "I know some of the girls suspect that I really like you anyways… I think Bakugo even figured out we're together since he not only saw us out with each other but his mom kept talking about us around him…" Ciana chuckled a little recalling what he mentioned last night.
"Mineta probably already sees you like me since you made a big deal about me to him…" she is still very flattered and touched that Izuku stuck up for her when it comes to her image and peeping, her smile brightened up remembering that reaction.
"Ashido and Jiro too," Then Izuku slumped a bit with a lax smile. "At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if the whole class knew... we're really bad at this."
"Yeah we really are…" Ciana giggled, it was hard to stay on the down low when they are in a dorm with all their friends around. "Now that you mention it… Bakugo mentioned we were also being talked about a lot in the dorm too… and said something about raccoon eyes and the charger wonder what we're up to… wonder who he was even referring to then…?" Ciana could tell that guy had a lot of nicknames for people he met, her hand on her chin as she tried to piece together who those names belonged to…
"That... really doesn't surprise me, at least he's not calling them 'extras'. Kacchan only gives people nicknames when he doesn't bother to learn their names, or forgets them but he never liked admitting to it, extras is to... well, strangers," Izuku revealed. The only way they'd learn who was who was by asking the source of the names but that was a bad idea. "Well, in any case, we should get ready, but I guess I'll see you down for breakfast."
"He sure is funny how he rants about people." She giggled, now standing up to stretch her arms. "Yeah we probably should get ourselves energized enough for whatever tests they throw at us next…" now her hands go to her hips. "But maybe it's best you head to your dorm from my balcony like you did before… if you just walk out of my room now and one of the girls sees you… they will catch that you've been in my room the whole time…"
"Right, yeah, plus its good practice for my mobility too," Izuku said this as his body trembled a bit where he stood, and the red lines dispersed quickly, forming a faint radiance around him with light green bolts. Exhaling lightly, he turned to Ciana. "Bye," He waved, opening her balcony door to leave.
She smiled and waved goodbye to him as he went. "This will probably be our new way to meet in secret now…" she comments to herself with a chuckle, now going to her dresser to get her uniform out. "I probably should bring my notebook with me again to write down my new dream while I'm at it…" she sighs as she starts laying out her clothes. "Gotta prepare for what's to come when I head down… I wonder what some of the other guys think of my situation besides Bakugo and Todoroki?" She asks herself in wonder.
After getting dressed back up, brushing her hair and teeth, putting her backpack together and the usual butterfly clip back in her hair. Ciana now steps out of her dorm room while stretching her arm again. "Sure will be a long day…" she says, her smile back on her face as she starts to get moving down the hall and stairs…
Once Ciana reached the common area, and the kitchen, only a handful were milling about, one being Jiro who still looked half asleep, allowing her left jack to wave to the ravenette in a silent greeting. Ciana returned it before Yaoyorozu, who was in the kitchen, perked up. "Oh, Finley, how are you today? You never came down for dinner last night, was everything okay?"
Ciana smiled and waved at her friends when she came down, she had a feeling they were wondering about her absence. "Hey! Yeah sorry about that, I was out late last night and came back pretty tired so I dozed off a bit early…" she responds with an awkward rub of the back of her neck. "I also had a lot on my mind and wanted to catch up on studying, so I needed some time to myself."
That made Jiro's brow raise as she ate her meal, "..." Then she extended her jack to wave it in front of Ciana who froze up at the appendage. "I'm half asleep, but I still caught all that... what really happened, 'cause I have a feeling Midoriya's in on this too since the guys couldn't get him last night either," The purplette questioned.
"Jiro, you could be a little more tactful..." Yaoyorozu shook her head as the musician shrugged.
"Want to hear the blunt question from me or Ashido, your pick," Jiro shrugged, sipping her coffee to wake up. "Oh, and Ashido's hiding under the counter."
Then came a thud as a pink ball of hair stood up, rubbing a spot on their head. "Ow... come on, I got up early for this, uwah... at least let me have fun with it," She yawned, then lazily pointed at Ciana as Yaoyorozu slipped a mug of tea into Ashido's free hand. "Spill it, you two were together, weren't you? Don't lie, Jiro's a lie detector."
"More so I can hear a person's heart rate increase when they lie, but whatevs..." She shrugged.
Ciana was pretty taken back by what she was hearing right now, especially Jiro hearing… d-did she hear them…?! Cianas face was so red right now she was starting to feel faint, not sure at all how to back out of this without making it more suspicious than it already is. "Whoa whoa, hold up! w-what are you implying exactly…? Yeah, it's true that Izuku came to see me to check up on me but he gets way too embarrassed to do anything what you guys are hinting at…" That at least was the truth, trying to word it very carefully.
Jiro blinked for a moment, then her own cheeks went a little red, "W-woah, I didn't eavesdrop or anything, geez, do I look like that sick little pervert?" She frowned a little deeper, sipping her coffee. "But still, only reason I said you were lying was to get Ashido to lay off trying to use me like her living lie detector," Then a jack shot forward, an inch from Ashido's eye as the girl choked on her drink. "I still expect you to owe me,"
"I-I will!" Ashido coughed, clearing her throat. "Look, deny it all you want, it's real freakin' obvious you two are into one another, I just want a yes or no answer, give me this, please~? I'll not say a word, I swear,"
"I don't care, but sure, not a word from me," Jiro shrugged, not at all wanting to pry into someone's personal affairs.
"And me, sorry," Yaoyorozu raised her hand a bit. "Though I fail to see why you're so embarrassed to admit it, I thought you two were already dating when we met though I suppose that's my mistake for assuming,"
"Yaomomo, we have much to talk about concerning girl talk," Ashido patted the rich girl's shoulder.
Ciana took a huge breath of relief that they didn't actually catch on to what went on… if they did she would have never shown her face again… her pink blush still stayed on her face as her shy smile rose, her arms went behind her back. "O-okay, yeah… I-I admit, I-I do like Izuku…" Ciana blushed very red admitting it, freeing her hand to scratch her pink cheek flusteredly.
"I mean we were close for a very long time… it's hard not to like him after all he's done for me, but I rather not make a big deal about my feelings for him… I mean when he comes to see me just to check up, I don't want any gossip going around that will just make him too embarrassed to show his face." She shyly admits with a tilt of her head, her cheeks becoming pinker just admitting this to her friends…
"...here we go..." Jiro rolled her eyes.
"I knew it, haha, I called it!" Ashido cheered to herself, grinning widely. "That's so cute! Oh, congrats as well, but yeah, no, if you wanna keep it on the downlow I gotcha girl," Ashido held up her hand, then elbowed Ciana's side playfully. "Is that where you two headed off yesterday, was it a date?"
Ciana opened her mouth to speak but Jiro sighed. "That lightning dolt Kaminari croaked on you, said he saw you and Midoriya leaving together, feel free to hurt him later, I would,"
"Kaminari aside, I'm happy for you both," Yaoyorozu gushed a bit herself, pushing a cup of tea over to Ciana.
Ciana blushed more from their reaction but also smiled more, this was so embarrassing but cute at the same time how everyone was going about this. Giving a nod of thanks to Yaoyorozu as he now took a seat. "Thanks." She says with a wider smile as she now took a sip.
"To answer your question about yesterday, we did hangout… Izuku was showing me around the city again and helped me grab a new phone." She answers so far, though surprised the guy figured out she went out with Izuku. "Wait he did? I know he and Mineta saw me all dressed up but I didn't think he knew what I was doing." She says in surprise of the info.
"Again, punch him if you want, him and the half-pint watched you guys from the doorway as you left," Jiro answered for her.
"Wait, you got a new phone? Why?" Ashido asked curiously.
"It may have to do with her not being from our world - that's still a sentence I'm not used to saying," Yaoyorozu admitted, then got back to her point. "Her technology could be outdated compared to ours,"
"Huh, makes sense," Jiro hummed.
Ciana sighed at the boys behavior, they really are nosy. "Those guys are really a handful… didn't expect they start spying now…" she chuckled a little, staring down at her reflection in her tea now. "Yeah my current phone doesn't connect with this world… so I saved up to get a new one for this world, figured I should have one while I'm here." Her gaze went back up to her friends, it felt so nice to be part of a girl group. Other than Izuku she wasn't used to being included in gossip.
"By the way, did any of the guys here talked about my situation? you know… me being from another world…? Do the other guys think I'm weird after finding that out about me as well?" She asks her gal friends, knowing the girls accept her but wasn't sure about the other guys.
"Kirishima talked to me about it after the USJ," Ashido leaned against the counter. "I mean, I didn't believe it at first but Kiri's not someone to lie about this stuff, and he looked pretty worried. Then the other teachers mentioned it so it's not as if it was misheard, so... I'm not sure?" She glanced at the others.
"I got some snippets but not much," Jiro shrugged. "Most want to ask you for deets, with us being off for two days I can't really say what the others think, sorry,"
Yaoyorozu raised her hand a little, "Since Midoriya gave me his place as vice next to Iida he too had questions and I agree it is a little hard to digest but when you come to realize that other worlds do exist outside our own it can be a culture shock,"
"Well, I for one love it, having a livin' breathin' otherworlder in our class is awesome," Ashido then whipped out her phone. "Oh, oh, let's exchange numbers now that you have a working phone,"
Ciana blushed a bit more shyly at being viewed cool from her friends, a little surprised one of them wanted her number but hearing that made her excited to have more friends to keep in contact with. "Oh, sure!" Ciana expressed happily, taking out her new phone from her bag to share her new number.
"Yeah honestly when I first came here I didn't even believe I just warped from America to japan let alone a super powered world at first." She chuckled at the memory, remembering how freaked she was at first. "I literally passed out just witnessing a super punch from All Might." That sure was a very cool move to witness despite being shocking.
"I wouldn't blame any of you at all if you didn't believe me, everything sure got very confusing but being here turned out to be a lot of fun." She happily says. "Compared to my world to yours, it's very boring… I mean there's nothing super about my world other than fictional stories about them, I do wish we had hero's where I'm from though."
"I guess so, but like, if your world was the same year as us you'd probably be much more advance in terms of tech than us, the whole quirk era really grinded that pipe dream to a halt," Ashido shrugged nonchalantly. "Yeah, no quirks would be kinda boring but then that means no villains that can level cities with their bare hands," She shivered a bit at that.
"Or monsters meant to kill a guy who could bench press a skyscraper," Jiro muttered, referring to the Nomu the League used to nearly kill All Might.
"Well yeah from what I witnessed the villains here are terrifying…" Ciana shivered at the memory of not only Meru Zena but the other villains as well. "I may not have monsters where I'm from but there are still bad people causing troubles even without powers." Her smile turned a little sad recalling the people she came across in Brooklyn.
"Even without powers, the criminals in my world are horrible enough to hurt others… even a group of thugs. My mom actually was heroic enough to step up to one that was trying to rob a place… she lost her life just to make sure another would live… It was hard dealing with people who are like that… I was scared there wasn't any real justice in my world after that." It was still sad for Ciana to discuss her mom's death, but she started to feel better the more she talked about it with others and shared what she tried to do for someone.
"Damn, sorry to hear that," Jiro spoke up again, "Hmph, people like that are the worst, taking a person's life with no consequence,"
"Your mom sounds like she was a hero like from this world, so hey, maybe that's another reason you're here, to become even better than she was," Ashido grinned.
"That's a positive way to look at it, though as Jiro said, we're sorry to hear that happened, I can find it understandable why you'd lose your faith in those meant to protect people from those sorts of tragedies," Yaoyorozu replied.
"Hey guys-" To cut into their conversation, they turned to spot Kirishima and Sero walking toward them. "-what're you talking about? You alright?"
Ciana smiled warmly at her gal friends for their comfort, hearing what they said made her feel warm and touched inside. It helped her give everything in a more positive perspective beside losing her mom. Now hearing one of the guys' voices, her attention turned to her spiked red hair friend and the guy who shoots tape from his arms. Which she thought was a little odd…
Cianas warm smile rose for them when she saw them. "Oh hey guys, yeah we're fine. Just sharing a sensitive story from home." She held onto her tea cup still, fidgeting with the little handle. "How have you both been?"
"Other than the horrible suspense of what's next in class, just tired," Sero shrugged, moving around the counter to grab breakfast.
"You doing okay, Finley? The girls said you didn't reply last night for dinner," Kirishima asked with a little concern for her health.
"Hm? Oh yeah, I'm fine." She responds with a sheepish smile and now her hand back on her neck. "Like I was just telling them, I had a lot on my mind and turned in early. Plus after that last test we did with the whole villains showing up… I wanted to be prepared for what's next to come." She chuckled a bit after saying that, knowing how insane and intense the test kept becoming.
"No kidding," Half of them sighed in agreement.
"Say, now that you're here and all, mind if I ask if it's true about where you're from?" Sero asked, turning around to look at Ciana. "We only overheard from the teachers, but are you from another world?"
"I told ya man, that freaky villain went into so much detail about her, plus, a rift opened up behind him, different from the mist guy's so that might be how," Kirishima pointed out.
"I too am curious of your affiliation beyond the void," To startle them, Tokoyami appeared, not phased at all.
"Jesus, dude, when'd you do that?" Ashido exhaled from the shock.
"Well I expected that topic would come up again…" she replied sheepishly, knowing this is probably the number one gossip in the dorm now. "But yeah… it's all true." She admits, sitting up more in her seat. "It's a bit of a long story how all that happened… but for starters that creep that showed up was responsible for my arrival… basically he wants to use me to open a rift to other worlds."
Ciana never told that part of her dream to Izuku yet, but it probably was a good idea to give her friends the heads up more to prepare for upcoming dangers as well as an explanation of what's going on.
There was silence at first, and Ciana was a little afraid of their reaction until Ashido spoke up. "The multiverse is real... holy shit," She sat down on a stool, sipping her hot drink entirely, smacking her lips.
"Not the answer I was expecting, Jiro?" Yaoyorozu inquired.
"True, though at this point even I'm starting to second guess my hearing," The punk teen let out an exasperated breath. "So this guy wants to jump world to world, that's it?"
"Guess when it involves using someone that's already bad news, but that's crazy," Kirishima frowned, scratching his head. "Really wish I understood any of this,"
"Agreed," Tokoyami nodded.
"It's true," To side with Ciana's answer, Todoroki walked past without even sparing them a glance as he looked through the fridge. "The villain had a distinct goal of his own, using the villains that attacked All Might as a distraction to study us, then once All Might was exhausted he made his move and attempted to persuade Finley into working with him. He must've known how risky it was to engage with so many Pros around, and yet, he displayed strength that could've matched the Nomu. He didn't act without contingencies in mind, this villain may have sounded crazy but clearly there's genuine truth behind his words,"
"First sentence we hear from you and all it did was make me more creeped out about some stalker villain," Ashido labelled bluntly as Todoroki remained silent while working on his breakfast.
Ciana was very surprised to hear Todoroki came and spoke up, eyeing him with a wowed look that not only showed how he spoke out but backed her up on her situation, no wonder he's so popular. This guy is so calm, cool and pretty smart and observant. Ciana was impressed as she gave him a smile in his direction whether he saw it or not, then turned back to her other friends.
"Yeah that basically summons some of it up." She took a stand now off her seat. "Once again I want to apologize to all of you for not being truthful in the beginning as I was afraid how you would all see me after knowing where I came from… I'm still confused why exactly I'm the one being used for his schemes, I actually was never meant to have a quirk to begin with…" Ciana admits with an anxious rub to her arm. "When I first came here that guy somehow copied his quirk within me… from what I found out he wants to use me for something that will probably cost this world if he achieves his goal…"
Ciana recalled he mentioned he didn't care what happened to this world, wondering if he wanted to destroy it. "He told me that he plans to travel to other worlds with his other helpers… I don't understand fully what his goal is, but I can tell it's something bad and…" her eyes now took a look of guilt and concern. "I'm sorry some of you got involved with him, but next time you see him I beg that you stay clear of the guy. From what you seen… he's really dangerous and even threatens to hurt you if you stand in his way…"
Those present all looked amongst themselves with the same concerned expression, then Kirishima took the lead with an expression mixed with shock and worry. "You want us to let you fight that guy alone? No way!" He yelled, not caring if he woke anyone up. "That guy's far too strong to fight without back-up, sure, it's pretty dangerous... but still!" He waved his hand out to her. "If we just let a friend go off and fight while we sat back and watch... I couldn't call myself a hero or a man!"
"He's got a point, you seriously think with what you just told us we're gonna just nod our heads and say, 'sure'?" Jiro looked almost impressed by Ciana's lack of self preservation, jabbing a jack at her. "We haven't known each other long, but letting you just push us away isn't going to make us feel better about the idea,"
"A battle against this villain will not be easily won, however, to watch one of us enter that darkness alone is a fate I cannot stand," Tokoyami concurred as Dark Shadow squawked.
"Basically, he's concerned you're crazy if you think we're gonna let you do something stupid alone," Then Tokoyami clamped his beak.
"Bet the others would agree, I mean, none of us could've survived the USJ without someone backing us up, right?" Sero glanced around, everyone nodding to a degree.
"And no, we're not counting Todoroki, he's a monster in his own right," Ashido snapped her fingers, a few chuckling at this as her dark eyes met Ciana's. "Face it, girl, you're stuck with us - and to add, why are you apologizing? If we couldn't take a few hits, those of us that did, then we'd have never passed the entrance exam,"
"You see?" A new voice chimed in, this time, it was Izuku who smiled back at Ciana kindly. "No one blames you for everything that's happened, sure, it's a lot to digest and to come to terms with, but in the end, you're still a part of this class, from another world or not,"
"See? Midoriya summed it up in a manly way!" Kirishima waved.
Cianas eyes rose with shock when she first heard Kirishima speak, then eyeing her other friends around her when they also spoke their part… Ciana was speechless hearing each one of them not only showed no fear but still accepted her and wanted to help her face this guy… her hands went to her heart to process everyone's words around her.
Noticing Izuku who also walked in and listened to what everyone said… tears formed into her eyes hearing everyone's dedication toward her as their friend… her smile rose brighter while still keeping her hands over her heart, Ciana couldn't hold back her tears as they leaked out in happiness. "E-everyone…" she chuckled a little as she tried to wipe her tears away. "Thank you… all of you! I-I still rather none of you get involved but I'm grateful that you're all willing to stand beside me and still view me as one of you…"
Cianas tears leaked out more as she couldn't be any more happier in this moment, she felt so warm having real friends around her she's never had from home stand beside her.
Now that everyone was smiling again, Izuku patted Ciana's back in slow circles while Sero held out a tissue from the counter for her while Yaoyorozu worked on making a new cup of tea. It wasn't an ideal solution, words and actions were very far apart. But for the moment, everything felt as it should be. Safe and warm.

School life returned to normal, well, as normal as it could be for UA as everyone either talked about random topics or the news report about the USJ with them briefly in it. Iida then came shooting to the front of the class. "Attention! Homeroom class is about to begin! Everyone stop talking and take your seats!" Iida declared... but...
"Uh, we're all sitting?" Kirishima pointed out to the very quiet class.
"Yeah, you're the only one standing," Sero smirked a bit at their new Rep's blunder as he quickly sat down in dismay.
"Dang. It..." Iida trembled in defeat.
"Don't sweat it," Uraraka reassured.
Ciana was a lot peppier after talking to all her friends in a group, everyone made her feel so safe and loved… something she hasn't felt very often besides being around her family, Ciana didn't feel so scared anymore about her situation. Knowing there's so much hope for not only her but for everyone around her…
Ciana was sitting at her desk with a bright smile on her face, jolting down some more of her thoughts and experiences in her little book. Cianas gaze lifted back up when she heard Iida walk in front of the room speaking out, chuckling at everyone's playful behavior. "I give you points for introduction though Iida." Ciana spoke out with a playful smile towards him.
"What's next on our agenda today?" She now asks as she sat up in her seat to give him her full attention.
"I dunno, woah," Ashido nearly fell back on her seat but Tsu caught her. "Who'd you think is gonna cover our homeroom?"
"Yeah, Mr Aizawa is still in the hospital recovering from his injuries-" The frog girl began as their classroom door slid open to reveal their substitute for a while. A mummy.
"Morning class," Aizawa greeted in his usual, monotone pitch only muffled as his whole face was wrapped in bandages, and his arms were much the same in slings.
"MR AIZAWA WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?" They were flabbergasted to say the least.
"Woah, what a pro!" Kaminari gawked though was a little freaked out.
"Mr Aizawa, I'm glad you're okay!" Iida said this with arm raised as said 'okay' teacher limped to the podium.
"You call that... okay?" Uraraka paled.
Ciana was very shocked to see their teacher walk back into the class while still looking all hurt. "What the heck is he doing back here?! From the condition he's in… h-he doesn't even look well enough to teach." Ciana didn't like when people pushed themselves when they are in bad health, her worry for their teacher had her stand up from her desk.
"Mr Aizawa, you shouldn't be here! It's not good to push yourself if you're still injured, I should at least do something to help your condition if you're still feeling weak." Ciana spoke out in worry, already she was preparing to approach to volunteer to boost him up again…
"My well-being is irrelevant, what's more important is that your fight isn't over yet," Aizawa declared, setting the room into a heavy silence.
"Our fight...?" Katsuki wondered.
"Don't tell me..." Izuku gulped.
"Not more bad guys...!" Mineta looked ready to bawl his eyes out.
Through a narrow slip in his bandages they saw his eyes. "The UA Sports Festival is about to start,"
"Yees!" Kirishima yelled.
"WHY WOULD YOU SCARE US LIKE THAT!?" The rest argued back.
Ciana quickly approached to place her hand on their teacher's shoulder to not only emit the same warm glow but boost his stamina as usual. Listening to his mention about a fight had her worried about what that meant, but clearing it up it's a sports festival… wasn't what she expected but had her surprised as her head tilted in wonder of this and she eyed her teacher beside her she's helping with his stamina.
"A sports festival? You mean like athletic training?" She asked in wonder of this new news, Thinking it's like the Olympics by the sounds of it…
Aizawa slowly turned to look at her as Ciana removed her hand. "...you can return to your seat," He instructed, moving his shoulders a bit more. "I'll not consider this a misuse of your quirk given it's made me feel far less drowsy," In his own way, it meant 'thank you'. "As for your inquiry, I'll get to that shortly,"
"Right… sorry sir." She nodded before making her way back to her desk to sit down, Ciana wasn't sure if he's being grateful or giving her a warning not to use her quirk without permission… probably both, but Ciana was glad to provide some aid to their teacher.
"Wait a second," Kirishima's hype was dampened as Kaminari slapped his face back.
"Is it really a good idea to host the Sports Festival so soon after the villains snuck inside?" Jiro asked.
"They could attack us if we're all in the same place," Ojiro added.
"Apparently, the administration thinks its a good way to show that the threat has been handled and that the school is safer than ever, plus, their beefing up security compared to past years," Aizawa elaborated on their worries. "But more importantly, this event is a huge opportunity for all students at UA, it's not something we can cancel because of a few villains,"
"Uh, but why not, it's just the Sports Festival?" Mineta grovelled in his corner.
"Um, Mineta, don't you know how important this competition is?" Even Izuku wasn't really sure what Mineta was getting at.
"Of course I do, I just don't want to get murdered," He whined.
"I... honestly doubt that, but okay," Izuku sighed, turning back to their teacher.
"Our Sports Festival is one of the most watched events in the entire world, in the past, everyone obsessed over the Olympic Games, but then quirks started appearing, and now the Olympics have been reduced in terms of scale and viewership," Aizawa pointed out. "Anyone who cares about competition, there's only one that matters, the UA Sports Festival."
"That sounds exciting…" Ciana comments with her elbows plopping on her desk and using her hands to hold her face up while listening to the crowd around her. "So does that mean we'll be doing stuff like track racing, long jumps and gymnastics?" Ciana asked with a curious tilt of her head.
Ciana never thought this school would do stuff like that, but the idea of people watching them while they do athletic stuff gave her the jitters…
"Oh right, you've never heard of it," Uraraka perked up, leaning to the left to look back at Ciana. "It's sorta depends, every year its random for each year over the course of three days. We're day one, second years, then third years, but the challenges vary from stuff in the Olympics to actual combat against one another, stuff like that."
Ciana was a little surprised by what Uraraka told her so far, she guessed they probably be a little different compared to home but didn't expect there be combat in it. "Wait, combat? You mean like fighting other students?" Ciana was afraid that what she theorized was right and hoped she meant more harmless competition…
"That's right, and top heroes everywhere will be watching," Yaoyorozu enforced to the main conversation, clenching her fist. "This is where you get scouted."
"She's right, after people graduate most join agencies as a sidekick," Kaminari grinned at his addition to the conversation.
"Yeah, but that's sometimes as far as people go, they miss their chance to go international and remain as eternal sidekicks, actually, that's probably where you're headed, you're kinda dumb," Jiro shot both Kaminari's pride and intelligence in one blow.
"It's true, joining a famous hero agency can garner you greater experience and popularity, that's why the festival matters, if you want to go Pro one day this event can open a path for you," Aizawa continued. "One chance a year. Three chances in a lifetime. No aspiring hero can afford to miss this festival, that means you better no slack off during training,"
"Yes Sir!" It was an event that would shape their futures during and after UA. They had to give their all to truly shine in this event against countless students.
"Class dismissed," Aizawa concluded.
Ciana did not know what to say or think about what's going on next for them… Ciana sank in her seat anxiously at the thought of not only competing with people but everyone around the world will be watching… Ciana felt incredibly nervous about the whole idea, especially the idea of slipping up on camera.
"Right… sounds cool…" Fighting bad guys is one thing but competing on camera…? This is something Ciana didn't think she could do at all. "Oh god… I-I got a lot to prepare for…" she says to herself while slipping her notebook back in her bag…
[Transition]
Cementoss' lesson was over and lunch would sound shortly. At that time, everyone broke into their own groups to chat about the Sports Festival coming up with various degrees of excitement. Ciana, however, sat at her desk, tapping her pen to an empty page in her notebook. "Hey, you alright?" She looked up to meet Izuku's eyes. "I'm guessing you're not exactly as hyped up about the idea of fighting in front of a large audience?"
Ciana sighed in response so far, Izuku is right on the market as always. "Isn't it obvious…?" She replied with a sheepish smile while sitting up a bit. "It's not exactly what I'm used to… we don't even have stuff like that going on in my old school, people who train for years are more qualified for the Olympics where I'm from…"
"That's really the point, think of it like a practical interview, the Pros watch us and spot potential, the better we perform the more will take notice, I guess it's like a really flashy sports day with quirks and stuff," Izuku tapped his chin, admiring the class' determination. "Everyone's so excited for this too" Izuku replied.
"Well, yeah, of course we are, we enrolled at this school for the sole purpose of becoming heroes," Iida exclaimed jumping from his seat to wiggle slightly. "So naturally we're all getting fired up,"
"Wow, Iida, those are some interesting moves, ribbit," Tsu commented to the side as the robotic man pointed at Izuku and Ciana.
"You have to be excited too, right Midoriya, Finley?" He waved his hands in quick chops at them.
"Well, yeah, of course I am... and also nervous," Izuku pondered.
"Same here…" Ciana admits with a nervous smile. "This is something I haven't ever prepared myself for… I-I just can't see myself being qualified for this kind of gig, I mean if I mess up then everyone will see me…" Ciana slumped in her seat again at the idea. "I'm not too good with crowds watching… I'm getting major stage fright just imagining myself up there."
"Yes, it's understandable to me anxious, I too feel it as I carry the burden of my family name with me, but it can be seen as a lesson to becoming heroes, to handle public pressure," Iida thought differently.
"Midoriya, Finley, Iida-" Uraraka spoke in deep voice. When they turned to her, they visibly jolted at her burning determination, again, Ciana visibly seeing a dark magenta aura coat her form, blackening the air around her with raw fire and grit. "-let's do our best in the Sports Festival!"
"Uh, Uraraka, what happened to your face?" Izuku gulped, even Iida had to adjust his glasses in shock.
"Seriously, what's up? You're normally the most laid back girl ever," Ashido noted.
Suddenly, Uraraka stomped her foot, and shot her fist high. "Everyone, I'm gonna do my best!"
"Yeah!" Iida, Izuku, Ciana, and Ashido hyped her up as her dark expression shifted to Kirishima's group and did the same thing.
"I said I'm gonna do my best!"
"Uh yeah.../Got it.../You okay? You kinda look like you're losing it," They weren't as hyped.
Ciana could see she was nervous about the whole thing too, but she's definitely trying to be brave and pumped about it. Now perking up with an amusing smile. "Don't worry Uraraka, compared to me you got this as much as everyone here. From what Izuku told me about how you handled the robots before, I'm sure you'll be amazing out there like everyone else."
Ciana comments with a warm smile, she believes her friends will be incredible during the games. Remembering the first test they all did in a group to show off their quirks and athletic skills.
"Thank you, I treasure our friendship!" Uraraka yelled back, still throwing out her positive fury.
Ciana giggled at her cheerful and positive attitude, that's something Ciana really admired about Uraraka. "I can see why Izuku fell for her in the future without me… not just because she's pretty but she's so positive and upbeat, that's actually what Izuku needed in his life…" Ciana thinks to herself, frowning on the inside a little realizing that. "That… would make sense why they were perfect for each other… Izuku has been so down almost his whole life after how he was treated in the beginning."
Glancing at Izuku when that came to mind, then glanced back to the gravity girl. "By the looks of it, she's pretty nervous and doing her best to keep it together… I wonder why?" She tilted her head now in concern for her friend. "Uraraka is usually so determined and cheerful, could… Izuku actually have a part to play in this that made them more closer? Will she need his encouragement?"
She has taken notice Uraraka really admires Izuku too… Now Ciana looked back down to her notebook as she turned the page about Izuku and Uraraka's connection, narrowing her eyes in concern for Uraraka's happiness again…
After giving some thought to wanting to ask Uraraka something important, Izuku noticed the hard look on Ciana's face, she was reading over her thoughts on those premonitions of hers, specifically, the one about how he was supposedly meant to end up with Uraraka or something along those lines. Moving to Ciana's right to block any view of her notes, he murmured low enough for her to hear. "Is it still bothering you or is this something else?"
"Eh?!" Ciana immediately straightened up with a panicked look on her face and quickly closed her notebook out of instinct as she now laid her gaze on Izuku. "What's bothering me? N-nothings bothering me! Something bothering you…?!" Ciana blurted out in a panic with a red blush on her cheeks, mentally slapping herself for panicking like that… of course that would look obvious…
Sighing into a smile, Izuku placed his hand atop the notebook, not moving it. "It's okay, if it is still bothering you, just say, I'll listen,"
Ciana really appreciated his concern which made her smile a little, but… this wasn't something she can openly talk about… Ciana was still worried that the more Izuku knew then the more his relationship with Uraraka wouldn't be pursued… it wasn't just for his sake but for Uraraka as well… even if it saddened her inside, Ciana did not want to risk ruining her happiness. "Don't worry about it, I was just looking back on my past premonitions to see if anything was adding up today, nothing that concerning."
While Izuku didn't feel she was entirely honest, this wasn't the place to press the issue, maybe sometime later if she had another, hopefully not as severe. "Alright, well, ready to go?" He nodded to Iida and Uraraka waiting for them. "Lunch's started."
Ciana at least smiled more as she nodded to confirm she's ready. Now standing up with her notebook back in her backpack. "Yep, while we're at it I could use all the information I can get for the sports festival coming."
Nodding, they left together, discussing the previous Sports Festival for reference to event structure and how eliminations were handled, as well as safety measures given some quirks being more volatile or destructive. To cut away from the conversation, Izuku looked to Uraraka. "Hey, Uraraka?" Izuku spoke up as they walked to lunch.
"What's up?" She perked, spinning around.
"Why did you decide to come to UA? What made you want to become a Pro hero?" It had been on his mind since he learned of Iida's motives, while already having a grasp on Ciana's, so he was curious of the fourth member of their group.
"Oh, um, well, because..." She looked a little sheepish. "...'cause I... wanted money,"
Izuku blinked for a bit, "Money? You wanted to become a hero so you could get rich?" As he said this, her hand rapidly scratched the back of her head, looking away anxiously.
"If we're cutting to the chase, then yeah," The brunette admitted.
Ciana certainly was surprised to hear that money is what made her want to be a hero… that sounded selfish, narrowing her eyes in suspicion of that info. Ciana recalled how much she wanted to help others and even selflessly offered to give her points to Izuku to repay him back for saving her.
"That doesn't sound like you…" she spoke out in concern. "Uraraka you don't sound like the type to only help others for money, you wanted to give Izuku some of your points so he would be able to still be here, not to mention you're always so encouraging and willing to help without anything in return." Ciana tilted her head in wonder of her answer. "It's alright if you tell us your real reasons, none of us will judge."
"I... t-thanks, Finley," She seemed genuinely surprised by her reply, smiling slightly. "I guess I just thought that if I said anything... I dunno, you guys have more admirable goals, I didn't want you to think less of me for it,"
"Not at all," Iida stepped in, chopping with his hands. "Your goal is to support your well being which is an important ambition to have,"
"Mmhm, it's just kinda surprising," Izuku nodded in agreement.
"Well, you see, my family owns a construction company," She fiddled with her hair more. "But we haven't gotten any work lately so we're flat broke, this isn't usually something I tell other people, but..."
Ciana blinked, looking between the boys as they both held one arm by the elbow, holding said arm's hand against their chin. "I see, construction," Iida wondered.
"Ah, if she got licenced I bet she could bring costs down alot," Izuku beamed as Iida grinned with him.
"And they can sell their heavy lifting equipment, she could float everything," He reinforced.
Ciana smiled at her friend's reasons, actually finding that very admirable. "I think your reasons are actually very heroic." She smiled brighter and compassionately. "You're going all out to not only be a hero to help others but to help your family with their financial trouble, I'm sure after all you did so far your parents would be so proud!"
"I know, right!? I've been telling my dad that since I was a kid! And yeah, I hope so too!" Uraraka bounced on the spot, pointing at the trio. She clenched her skirt a bit, no longer appearing as embarrassed by her situation. "But... they never saw it that way, they always put me first, to focus on myself, and I love them for that, I really do. Yet, they always seemed stressed, I want them to be as stress-free as I could be, to smile too. So, I'm going to become a Pro, I'll sign with a good agency and make plenty of money, then I'll be able to let my parents have an easy life," She affirmed.
Suddenly, Iida started clapping above his head, "That's beautiful! So noble! Bravo!" His praise made her cheeks warm up a little, smiling again sheepishly.
Izuku never realized how more realistic her goals were to anyone else. She only cared for wanting to support her family in the end, that alone was a noble goal in of itself.
Ciana thought her reasons were incredibly thoughtful and amazing how she felt that way, Ciana always admired people like her that are determined to help others no matter what anyone says. "After all you've done for us Uraraka, I have no doubts you'll achieve your goals knowing how strong and determined you are, your reasons give me more to admire about you!"
Ciana happily expresses, she's definitely really cool and amazing in her own way. Plus, whenever she's around, Uraraka brings a smile to everyone in the group and more confidence to work hard. Though Ciana has taken notice Izuku admired her more for her heroic actions, glancing at him with a sad smile before turning back to the group with her usual bright smile.
"Hahahaha!" A booming voice cut off their conversation. From out of nowhere, All Might came rushing forward in a black suit to point at them. "Young Midoriya, and Young Finley... Are Here!"
"Woah, All Might, what are you doing here?" Izuku was a little taken back by the sudden visit.
"Lunch," He replied simply, holding up a small wrapped lunch. "Wanna eat with me?"
Uraraka spat in hysterics, "That's adorable~!"
"Whadda say!?" All Might asked again.
Ciana and Izuku turned to Iida, the Rep nodding politely for them to go ahead with their teacher. "Sure thing..." With a quick look to one another, they followed the Symbol of Peace. "Is something wrong?" He wondered.
Ciana sure didn't expect the top hero would want to eat with them, she was even more surprised he offered for her to tag along since Izuku is his current successor. But she can guess that it was an excuse to talk privately together, now looking to All Might with a curious expression and a tilt of her head. "Can't say it's an honor you want to eat with us All Might, but is there maybe another reason why you want us specifically to join you?"
Ciana couldn't help but ask in wonder of this, still feeling kinda flustered inside to get special treatment especially since Izuku is his current focus.
"All in good time, Young Finley, let us save our talks for the lounge," All Might answered vaguely, leading the pair to speak privately.
Once they had reached the staff lounge he mentioned, he shut the door and instantly shrank down with a cough, wiping the blood away with a cloth. "Ah, sorry about that, had to be quick, already a pain trying to maintain my muscle form for classes," All Might sighed, sitting down on the stool opposite them where the pair sat on a sofa as he poured some tea. "Right now, I can probably only hold my form for fifty minutes,"
"Only fifty minutes!?" Izuku gasped.
That was surely shocking to hear as her eyes went wide with shock also. "What?! H-how are you able to only do that when you seem to be able to hold it out longer than that before? Is your health getting worse?" Ciana was worried by this news, every time Ciana still sees him coughing blood it frightens her more how much Mr Yagi is pushing himself and also suffering just carrying out his duties.
"Huh? No-no, you have nothing to worry about, Young Finley, my health is... well, 'fine' for what I am now," He quoted. "It's inevitable I'm growing weaker in terms of using my quirk ever since I passed it on to Young Midoriya, the more times I use it, the faster those embers inside me will burn up,"
"But yeah, that's about the stretch I can use One For All now, I've overdone it too many times" He replied while brooding over his thoughts. "That Nomu was a real tough customer, it took a lot out of me, at this rate I can barely look like All Might for an hour and a half,"
"I'm so sorry," Izuku apologized without thinking. "I should've just - Yah!"
The teens recoiled into one another as All Might burst out laughing hysterically, blood spurting from his mouth. "You don't need to apologize for anything, we really are alike, you and me!" He chuckled, pushing over two cups for them. "Have some tea,"
"Thanks," Izuku sighed, ungluing himself from Ciana to grab his.
Ciana at least took a hold of her cup as well to sip her tea she was given, Glancing to Izuku and then to the hero as her brows knitted in concern still. "Well, if it helps I'll be happy to boost your stamina more to keep your form longer."
She politely offered, placing her cup on her lap now as her attention still stayed on the hero. "By the way, speaking of One For All… Do you happen to know something called All For One by any chance Mr Yagi?" Now bringing up the name of what the villain mentioned to her…
"Oh right, yeah, you mentioned that earlier today," Izuku pipped up, none seeing the grim look befall the hero's face, swearing his heart stopped.
"...Finley, where exactly did you hear that name?" All Might's tone was solemn, staring at her with shaken eyes.
Ciana was definitely surprised to see All Might shaken up, blinking her eyes twice to process his reaction. "I… heard it from Meru Zena, he mentioned it when he came to haunt my dreams… why? Is… that another dangerous power like One For All…?" Ciana asked, thinking it was like the one Izuku was blessed with.
All Might didn't speak, worrying the pair. "...All Might?"
"...listen, both of you," They sat up straight as their mentor looked at them. "I need time to look into this, as things stand, nothing concerning All For One will affect you, so, I'll explain everything after the festival, just... give me some time, if that's alright? I... I have to think about this, there's still a piece or two missing for me to say anything else without needlessly stressing you both," Then his eyes met with Ciana's. "Did Meru Zena tell you anything else that seemed important?"
Ciana could tell by the way he was reacting that this should be taken seriously… now bringing more to her worries, glancing to Izuku again next to her and then back to All Might. "He said… he wanted to use me to be able to travel to other worlds, and…" Ciana placed her hand on her chin to think back to the villain's words in the end. "All For One will be watching closely… his league of villains have only just gotten started…"
Her eyes narrowed more, processing more of his words. "Also said something about not allowing their power to fall into the demons hands… I'm not sure what he meant by that last part." She shrugged.
All Might paused in his thinking, looking between his fingers at them both, spotting how the young girl's hand rested atop his successor's, it was a touching sight to know they confided in one another, and in trusting him to withhold this huge revelation until a later date. He truly felt blessed to have met two fantastic fledgling heroes.
"...thank you, both of you," He lowered his hand, offering a tiny smile again. "You two have grown so much without my help it's almost scary," With a soft chuckle, he cleared his throat again. "Right then, back to our previous conversation, I brought you both here to talk about the festival," He pointed to Izuku specifically. "Good thing is, thanks to this young miss right here you finally have the reins over One For All, if only a fraction of its might, so, what's your plans?"
Izuku lowered his head a bit, mulling it over, "With the power cap I'm fixed to now, I should be able to hold my own, if needed, I can crank my power up to eight percent but it strains my body more so it's an emergency reverse in short bursts. Oh!" He blinked, looking up again. "I remember using a maxed out punch on Nomu and my arm was completely fine!"
All Might perked up sharply. "That's right, you mentioned that before, what was different about this smash?"
"Let's see... I guess it was more on instinct since I knew we weren't training," The words Thirteen passed to them that day echoed again, causing his hand to close around his tea tightly. "This was the first time... ever I had used my power with the intention to hurt someone..." His voice quivered a bit.
"Hm, sounds like you succeeded on subconsciously putting on the breaks so you didn't kill anyone," Removing his hand from his chin, All Might looked up. "Well hey, that's some kind of progress at least,"
"Izuku sure learns fast from what he can do, I don't think there's anything he can't figure out." Cianas positive nature came back as she looked to him with an amusing smile. "Plus your heart is too pure to actually hurt anyone, I admit I'm afraid how dangerous my own powers might be compared to Izukus."
Her attention back to the hero with a little worry in her eyes. "I'm starting to learn other things about my power that I can do… I remember Meru Zena mentioned he turned into what he looks like now because of his own quirk… I've been getting more frightened to use my quirk still without fearing the idea that I'll turn into a beast…" her gaze goes down to her lap now. "The idea is starting to hold me back from wanting to do more with it…"
"You're not the first to think that way, many quirks have evolved and changed their user if given the right circumstances," All Might didn't sugarcoat it, but instead, he leaned forward with his hands clasped together. "But you have to ask yourself, will you turn into the same creature that has become Meru Zena or will you take on a new form, one that won't bring fear but hope?" With a gentle gaze he offered his words to a young girl frightened to change. "If what I've said doesn't help, then one day, if the people you love were at risk, would changing be worth sacrifice? And wouldn't those you care for accept you, regardless of who you become?"
"We don't always get an easy choice, Young Finley, words can only carry so much weight, but actions is how our words have the purest impact to the people around us,"
Ciana only looked down at her lap more in more worry of this, he was right though… if it came to someone at risk then she would have no choice but to use her powers to help them… Ciana wasn't the type to let something like that hold her back despite the consequences, her eyes shut tightly just from overthinking this… knowing she has a lot to think about as well as a lot to prepare for. "But I would never be able to return home if I became a monster… there's no way I could even show my dad how much I changed that way…"
Her gaze looks back up, gripping her tea cup a little. "I understand what your saying Mr Yagi… but I don't think I'll be able to live with the possible change… even if others still accept me how I look… but I will say it at least won't stop me from wanting to help others if I have to…"
"Ciana..." Izuku had no words that could make it through to her. This was a problem that would affect her life forever, she couldn't hide any mutations if they were as significant as Meru Zena's. It ate at his heart, feeling useless for not having an answer for her.
This was a grave issue for Ciana, All Might could see how much it was eating away at her. She was caught between two lives now, whatever happened here to her would stay with her when she returned home. Maybe he'd ask Midnight about it when she has her one to one will all of 1-A? Standing up, All Might moved to the window to mull over what's been said. "To be frank, I don't have much time left as the world's Symbol of Peace, soon I'll have to put that title to bed,"
"No way," Izuku couldn't hardly believe that reality either.
"And some villains are starting to notice that, it's why there will be a person to stand to take my place, but now... I have more than one," All Might stated, causing the young couple to tense up, looking to All Might with shocked eyes as he turned to clench his fist at them. "Have either of your minds swayed since the day we met? Are you willing to stand at each other's sides against this world's cruelty when it comes?"
Ciana was saddened to hear the hero will be going into retirement soon, in a way it's probably for the best with the condition he's in… it's no wonder he needed a successor to take his place. Ciana was a little surprised by the question as she glanced to Izuku again after listening to All Might, but then smiled as her gaze turned back to him.
"I am." She responds so far with a nod of her head. "I stood by Izuku and my friends through everything that came at me so far. No way I'll let what happened scare me away, especially after all you have done for me…" Cianas determined and confident look came as she raised her fist with a confident clench. "I grew to love this world just as much as my own, no way I'll let it fall into the hands of evil. After all, when we're together it's All for one and One for all! So nothing will stop us when we stand together!" She expressed cheerfully with her fists raised higher, but then realized what she said might have confused them as her hand went to her neck awkwardly with an awkward smile.
"Oh sorry if that sounded confusing… that's a saying at home meaning we're stronger when we stand together." Ciana explains in case All Might didn't know her favorite phrase.
"I mean, I think it's pretty cool," Izuku tapped his chin.
"...these two," All Might saw them chuckle at Ciana's answer, carefree and spirited despite their worries clearly etched into their minds. "Young Midoriya is still trying to leave my shadow. And Young Finley struggles with the power she was given. But together like this... there truly is no stopping them,"
He smiled proudly at the two. "The UA Sports Festival is the highlight for Heroes and Students alike, there, you must show the world who you are, and what you stand for! Think of this as your debut!" He held his hand out to them. "Give them the dream of a new Symbol of Peace and Hope."
His encouraging words struck them both, as they glanced to one another. The weight of this event had sunk in clearly, to others it was a time to enjoy themselves, others for their future careers, but they knew it meant more for the two of them, Izuku as the world's next Symbol of Peace, and Ciana wished to keep the world she came to care for from crumbling by the hands that dragged her here. Stifling the pressure the two of them smiled and held their joint hand up high for All Might.
"We Will!"
Izuku's hand squeezed Ciana's tighter, "I will not fall behind any longer, I'll move forward on my own terms, for All Might's sake, and for Ciana's!"
Ciana already felt her cheery side coming back as she raised her hands with Izuku, her bright smile back on her face as she felt determined to protect the world with Izuku and stand by her friends through everything. "No matter what happens I'll work hard to watch over my friends and the world around me whether I'm meant to be here or not." She thinks to herself with a squeeze to his hand back.
"I'm not as strong as Izuku so I'll have to figure out a way to give it my all at the festival. I may have already trained hard to be in this school but I have to do better to fight and defend myself…" Cianas expression now took on a serious look and wonder. "What Bakugo said was right that I have to be determined to win… if I don't then I won't be able to succeed to help others, maybe… okay this might be a crazy idea… but I need to talk to him again when I see him…"
She tells herself as she suddenly had an idea how to prepare for the festival, hoping he's not too annoyed enough with her to speak to him again… Something she can't mention to Izuku at the moment without him worrying…
[Transition]
Twenty past three and 1A couldn't catch a break. Dozens of students were poking around at the exits to their classroom, murmuring with one another as they studied the students caught at the center of it all. "Why the heck are you all here!?" Ochaco blurted out.
"Do all of you students have some business with our class?" Iida asked calmly, arm raised slightly.
"Why are you blocking our doorway, I won't let you hold us hostage!" Mineta screamed.
"They're scouting out the competition, idiots," Katsuki said it as it is, not at all phased by the crowd.
"This is almost like the time the news crew showed up and everyone went crazy…" Ciana sweat dropped at the display, this is going to be frustrating to get around now… "They should take a lesson from you Izuku and just study the competition in their notes." Ciana playfully tells him.
Glancing over to Bakugo, her nerves were getting the best of her debating what to "I wonder if this is a good time to talk to him now… maybe it's best I do that when there's no commotion going around, I know he hates me so it's possible he will refuse to give me any help…" she tells herself in concern for his response, knowing he's not always easy to reason or talk with.
"Let's just hope he doesn't explode anybody," Izuku sighed in dismay.
"We're the class that survived a real villain attack, they want to take a look at what they're like," Katsuki added, glowering at the lot, causing the chatter to silence itself under his gaze. "At Least now you know what a future pro looks like, now outta my way you extras,"
Almost everyone winced at that, with Uraraka, Izuku, and Ciana all appearing gobsmacked by his cynical tone, "You can't just walk around calling people extras because you don't know who they are!" Iida berated the blonde.
"So, this is class 1A, I knew you guys were impressive, but you just sound like an ass," One pushed his way to the front, coming to view the class with obvious dark rings under his lazy eyes. He was fairly tall with messy, indigo-colored hair that flares out in large tufts around his head and notably straight teeth. His eyes were purple with white pupils, and are thin and somewhat triangular in shape. "Is everyone in the hero course delusional or just you?" While Katsuki looked pissed, the others all shook their heads frantically.
"Don't take his behavior too personal. He's always like that but means well." Ciana comments with a shy smile, though… she was a little confused who this guy was that suddenly showed up like this, he looked… kinda creepy and had a strange aura around him…
Ciana placed her hands behind her back anxiously while observing this new face. "Um… so who are you? Are you a new student by any chance?" She asked curiously, guessing that the way he showed up in their class that he was a new face.
"Tch, didn't think us General Studies students ranked so low on your radar, I'll remember that," He narrowed his eyes a bit at Ciana, making her back up a bit.
The guy rubbed his nape. "How sad to come here and find a bunch of ego-maniacs. I wanted to join the hero course, but like many others here I was forced to find a different track, such is life. I didn't cut it the first time around, but I have another chance," He lowered his arm, eyeing up every student in the class, notably, a girl who looked entirely invisible, a short boy with purple balls atop his head, and the ravenette standing close to the timid boy with greenish-black hair. "If we do well at the Sports Festival, the teachers can decided to move us up into the hero course, and they'll have to transfer people out to make room,"
"'Scouting the competition'? Maybe some of my peers are, but I'm here to let you know that if you don't bring your very best, I'll steal your spot right from under you. Consider this a declaration of war," He announced.
"WHERE DID THIS GUY EVEN COME FROM!?" Izuku and his friends shook with bewilderment at the threat.
Ciana didn't have any words to describe her surprise of this guys sudden blunt behavior, the way he talked down on her friends like that made her expression turn serious despite being a little nervous of his presence. "Don't underestimate us! Haven't your parents ever taught you not to judge a book by its cover?" Ciana responded bluntly back with her arms crossed, narrowing her eyes at him.
"If you're going to talk down on people like us then I can't see how you can do any better, I don't appreciate you threatening my friends exactly like a villain would do…" Ciana once again stood her ground, like back when she first stood up to Bakugo in the past.
"Obviously, you're not quite getting what's going on here," He warned her. "Do you think this is some game? You seriously believe I'm here to threaten you, no, I'm warning you that if you don't shape up, I'll take away any hope of one of you staying, and if not me, then someone else," He smiled a bit. "Maybe I'll take your place,"
Ciana looked ready to snap back but a hand caught her, "That won't happen," Izuku put his arm out across Ciana's stomach, keeping her from biting back as he and the boy stared off for a bit.
Both the indigo-haired boy, Izuku and Katsuki silently glared at one another, though Katsuki was noticeably more irked before a voice from the right of Katsuki spoke up. "It's wise to take that threat seriously," Turning, the silverette from Class 1B appeared, Remiru Yuuki, her mouth covered by her black bandana. "If you fail to bring your all, devote yourselves to your place, you will be swept aside for another, of course, not everyone wants your place, some... simply wish to prove they aren't to be shelved,"
"Hey you!" Then another boomed from the back of the crowd. A young man with quite long, chin length, messy gray hair and black eyes which are tilted dramatically inwards, each lined with a very thick, jagged, tan-coloured substance. And has rows of sharp, pointed teeth. "I'm from the class next door to you, same as Yuuki, and I heard you fought some villains! But all I see is a bunch of brats who think they're better than us!" He yelled so loudly he started to spit.
Yuuki sighed softly, turning to him. "Tetsutetsu, let us leave, now isn't the place to yell," She replied, walking past the students but not before her one eye and Ciana met. Briefly, pure hatred crashed into Ciana's own Aura before it vanished into the crowd, dragging the yelling man with her.
Ciana really wanted to talk some sense down to the creep but was surprised Izuku stopped her from saying anything more, Ciana could only narrow her eyes intimidating towards the guy until she took notice of Yuuki again which took her back a bit, Ciana was still nervous of this girls presence… but started to feel a little more strong around her now.
Ciana watched her and her friend leave as she felt a chill run down her spine from the sudden glare she gave her, her fists clenching at the sudden sight. "My hunch was right… there's definitely something off about that girl, just what is her angle?" Ciana asked herself of what just went on, but then turned her gaze to her friends. "I can be the first to say they weren't very sportsmen like… but this shouldn't be enough to shake us down, now I'm more pumped to succeed in these games." Ciana expresses confidently with her fist raised back up, not wanting them to get the better of her friends.
"I mean, I guess you're right..." Ashido murmured off to the side.
"Just don't mind the fact the whole school's out for our blood," Jiro rolled her eyes.
"Yeah..." Izuku whispered.
Despite the hatred everyone now had for the class, Katsuki just turned to move through the crowd. "Hey man, where you going!? You have to say something!" Kirishima yelled for him to stop. "It's your fault they're all hating on us, Bakugo!"
"These people don't matter," His crimson eyes faced forward. "The only thing that's important is that I beat them,"
Ciana could see they were still shaken up by the sudden threat they received from the other students, Ciana was worried they will bring their confidence down as she didn't want them to get the best of them, glancing to Bakugo who was starting to leave. Ciana stared at the direction he was going for a minute as she was still debating in her head what to do…
She knew he was serious about his goals, clenching her fists again with another determined expression, Ciana suddenly chases after the guy through the crowd. "Hey! Wait up Bakugo!" She suddenly yells while trying to get past the people around her.
Squeezing her way free of the crowd while muttering apologies, Ciana dusted off her blazer and jogged to walk just shortly behind him. "...what the hell do you want now? We have two weeks to train our asses off, I don't need you wasting a second of that time outside of class, Blank,"
"T-that's exactly what I want to talk to you about!" Ciana panted a bit from the sudden break through of the crowd. Now straightening up with her serious expression now back as she eyes him. "Bakugo, I actually could use your help to train… will you hear me out?" she surprisingly asks him so far.
"Get that damn nerd to help you, you've been training with him all this time so leave me out of this!" He threw his hand up in annoyance, walking away.
She doesn't give up yet though as she kept walking after him. "Just listen! If you still refuse then I promise I'll leave you alone for the rest of the weeks so you can focus on your own turf."
"You're so goddamn annoying...!" He yelled to the ceiling, turning to look at her. "Why would I give a crap about helping you!?" Noticing Izuku and a few others having broken through the thinning crowd, he jabbed a finger at them. "Ask those idiots for crying out loud!"
She wasn't afraid of his anger, standing her ground still with her expression showing no fear. "I can't because I know this is something you can help me with, believe it or not Bakugo but I actually admire you too and I don't mean because of your quirk." She firmly tells him. "Listen, I thought a lot about what you said to me the other night… you were right, if I don't take winning seriously then I won't be able to succeed in helping others, I have an idea I think will really help us both for the festival, you can still refuse but please just at least hear me out."
"She's... asking Kacchan for help?" On Izuku's list of strange events, this had to rank the highest. He stayed back, not wanting to get involved. If this was how Ciana wanted to grow, he won't stop her, he just felt very, very worried.
Katsuki snorted sharply, but said nothing, he was giving her his attention.
Ciana was glad he's at least listening so far, keeping her focus all on him. "After school when we get back to the dorm, let's train together using only hand to hand combat and not our quirks outside. What I need your help with is to get stronger fighting and defending myself… this way we both will be prepared to be ready for the festival. In return for your help… if we face each other during the festival, I promise I'll give it my all when we come to fight with our quirks. Sound like a fair deal?" She suddenly asks this with a little smile in the end.
"..." His brow raised, then his glare shot toward Izuku. "Deku-" The greenette flinched at his deep voice. "-did you seriously not even teach her close combat training once!?"
"W-we did, b-but only basics!" He nervously replied in a heartbeat.
"Pah, no wonder your stunt in the battle trial was a one off," Katsuki brought his stare back to Ciana. "...if you waste my time, you're on your own, whether it's you or Deku doesn't matter to me, I'll beat one of you, but that can't happen if both of you suck so bad you drop after the first round,"
Ciana smiled more at his response, nodding at his words. "I promise I'll give ya everything I have, I don't back out of fights that easily. I'm well aware of how strong you are and I'm fully prepared to face whatever you got." She stuck her hand out towards him to fully strike the deal as her smile became more determined. "Let's give it our all after school."
"Whatever," He lightly slapped her hand aside, tucking his into his pockets. "Don't whine about what comes next, Blank," And like that he wandered off again, muttering nonsense to himself.
Izuku, Iida, and Uraraka slowly shuffled up behind Ciana, startling her. "You... what have you done?" Izuku shivered. "K-Kacchan doesn't hold back, a-at all, no m-matter what - I'm amazed but also terrified, haha... oh God..." Izuku was having a crisis.
"I must admit, his way of accepting your request was rude but this is Bakugo so it's no surprise," Iida adjusted his glasses.
"You were so headstrong about it too, nice work!" Uraraka playfully punched Ciana's shoulder, then smiled nervously. "But... I can't help but feel this might be a tough two weeks for you,"
Ciana actually forgot her friends were there and didn't expect them to be watching… causing her to blush very embarrassingly while rubbing the side of her head with a sheepish smile. "Y-you all been watching…? I-I didn't think you pay too much attention to that…"
She responds flusteredly, but now smiling confidently again. "I know he will be tough and that's what I need to succeed, Bakugo may be rough but I need to be fully prepared for that when I face other people like that, plus this will be a good way for us both to work hard and prepare ourselves for what's to come at the festival."
Cianas attention now turned to Izuku with a confident nod. "Don't worry Izuku, I already know he won't hold back in a fight, we're just going to fight hand to hand so you don't need to worry about me. No matter how rough he gets, I'll pull through whatever he throws at me as long as it isn't his explosive fists." Her fists raised in determination. "I made it this far haven't I? I could use the extra muscle."
Then her attention turns to Iida. "Iida, if you're up for it do you think you can be there to watch us spar? I think it might be smart for someone to look out and make sure none of us use our quirks accidentally while we fight. Knowing how observant you are, it would be helpful to call a vowel if you catch that. Some rules should be set to make sure we don't go overboard after all. But if you rather focus on preparing for the festival then I'll understand." She asks this with a polite but understanding smile, Ciana would have asked Izuku but judging by his reaction he would be too worried and freaking out if he watched… plus she figured he needed to prepare for the festival himself and be there for Uraraka if she needed his encouragement judging how she anxious she was today…
"I-if you think it'll help, then I'll trust you, it's not often - or ever - Kacchan helps someone train so..." Izuku wasn't against the idea, just wary, the fact Ciana of all people got through to him spoke volumes and he was impressed yet again by her stubbornness.
"I agree, and while yes I have my own training I can spare some time, while I have no doubt Bakugo won't use his quirk on school grounds so casually it can't hurt to be safe," Iida agreed, chopping his hand.
Ciana perked up her smile more towards her friend, thankful Iida is willing to lend a hand. "Thanks Iida! Much appreciated, I hope this new training routine of ours will really get us strong for the festival." She raised both her fists up in determination.
"I admit I'm still nervous about the whole sports festival thing… but after how those guys talked down on us like that, I want to show them what we're made of!" Now raising one fist higher, definitely wanting to put those jerks in their place.
The group walked together again to leave for the dorms as Izuku rubbed his bicep. "That guy that made that threat really seemed serious about beating us, then again, I can't be surprised some students might feel they lost out in their place in the hero course," He'd understand that frustration.
"Still, that girl with the black bow, Yuuki was it?" Uraraka cocked her head slightly. "She really didn't seem to like us, it wasn't for long but she gave us this nasty look with her eye,"
As they were walking Ciana was by Izuku's side as they went, taking notice Izuku was looking nervous again which had her attention fully on him now with her concerned expression back. "You alright Izuku? Are you still afraid of the idea of me sparing with Bakugo?" She asks as she assumed he was still worried about the idea.
"You can't really blame me, he's unpredictable," He was honest about it, but held a wary smile. "But this is your choice so I won't complain,"
Ciana just offered him another one of her usual smiles to show she was fine with it, not showing any fear of the idea. "I'm sorry to have worried you about that, but do you remember what I told you before that I grew up in a rough part of the city back home?" She tells him this with a tilt of her head and her arms behind her back.
"Yeah, I remember..." He nodded, "It's probably that and one other reason I'm not overly worried."
Ciana now looks forward again as she speaks. "When I mentioned I dealt with people much worse… I had to endure a lot of rough treatment from people I confronted, but each time that happened it just encouraged me to be stronger and keep getting back on my feet… why do you think I managed to do that the last time we faced Bakugo during our last fight with him?"
"Which is why I said I'd trust you on this... but not worrying is easier said than done," Izuku kept his response light, he didn't want to make a big deal out of this, but his brain was hot wired to the worst possible idea when it came to Katsuki, years of abuse does that to your head.
"Not to worry, Midoriya, I will ensure nothing goes beyond simple training, you have my word to both of you as your Class Rep," Iida patted his chest.
She nodded at her friend's response, knowing she can trust Iida to keep a safe look out. "There you see? I trust our class rep to keep us in line, I doubt Bakugo would want to mess up like last time that got him in trouble, especially after how he was after the fight… I trust Bakugo intentions when we will face off, even if he gets a little too rough in the process." She tells him, putting her faith in the rabid boy funny enough.
