A few hours later, and the once trash-ridden beach of Takoba Municipal Beach Park was now bustling with life as dozens had shown to take advantage of the hot weather. Street vendors set up shop, people played in a makeshift volleyball pitch, some swam in the sea, the whole atmosphere compared to when Izuku was here had changed dramatically. He felt accomplished in that regard, that his and Ciana's word bred this happiness, and paved their way to UA.
"Hey, Midoriya, how're the girls?" Kirishima approached, wearing red trunks with a matching sleeveless jacket. Izuku wore something similar, only his jacket was blue with a white hem.
Looking at his phone, then to Kirishima again he answered. "Not long, Ciana said they weren't far out now; what about the others?"
"Far as I've seen all the guys bar Bakugo and Todoroki, and I think Tokoyami but he could just be in the shade somewhere," He shrugged.
"Oi, look again, dumbass," Kirishima and Izuku jumped when they spun around to see the ash blonde glowering back at them. Katsuki wore black shorts and a white-striped shirt to boot, his bag over his left shoulder.
"Hey there, man, thought you wouldn't make it!" Kirishima greeted brightly, much to Katsuki's annoyance.
"H-Hi, Kacchan," Izuku added to from behind Kirishima.
"Anything to get away from the Hag's constant nagging," He huffed until several voices caught their attention.
After a fun shopping trip with the girls and changing into her new outfit in the change room at the mall… Ciana was now dressed in not only her swimsuit but the white strapless flowing sundress as well as her sandals and usual hair clip, now arriving at the beach while talking to the girls on the way…
Ciana perked up when she noticed the guys, noticing Bakugo was here too which had her smile rise up more. "Hey guys!" Ciana happily called out with her bright smile and wave towards them in a distance, soon approaching down the steps. "Bakugo you actually came! I'm glad that you decided to tag along." She happily greeted him with her usual smile.
"It was getting boring sitting doing nothing," He replied dully, glancing over at the girls, one in particular, before quickly drawing his gaze elsewhere.
"Great, you guys are just on time, pretty much everyone is here, sorta," Kirishima stepped in, somewhat red in the face as he turned his eyes to Ciana. "Most of us are on the other side of the gazebo, managed to save a pretty big spot for us to set up before things got too crazy,"
"Huh?" A little surprised by the craziness he mentioned, she tilted her head in a curious manner about what the shark boy meant. "What do you mean? Did something happen when we weren't around? Did Todoroki at least show up?" She asked Kirishima as she glanced around the beach, hoping to see if the class prince tagged along as well.
"He means before it gets busy, idiot," Katsuki barked back, marching in said direction.
"Yeah, what he said... not the idiot part, but anyway, not yet, but hey, if you managed to talk to him then he might show up, just a bit later is all," Kirishima offered optimistically.
"He better, we even got Jiro out here and she hates socializing - ow!" Ashido was then jabbed in her bare bicep by a retracting jack as Jiro gave her a flat look. "Hehehe, sorry?"
"No," She replied, moving to follow Katsuki. "Look alive, Parsley, you're catching flies,"
The musician's remark forced Izuku to shut his jaw tight, his face growing redder that he was caught staring at Ciana. While not as revealing as the girls, it still showed off more skin than normal, coupled with the flowing white sundress to compliment the teal colouration of her swimsuit. "I'm staring again... oh wow..." He gulped, quickly shifting his gaze at anything but Ciana, furrowing his brow as he covered his mouth with a hand. "...I don't think I can do this..."
Now glancing over at Izuku as soon her friend pointed out Izuku was looking her way… Ciana blushed very pink seeing how flustered he was of her look… which is really flattering as she couldn't help but giggle at the display, feeling all warm inside as Ciana gave Izuku a bright smile now. "So… how do I look Izuku?" She now asks her handsome hero.
"Is it too much maybe…?" Ciana scratched her cheek shyly while the other went behind her back in a bashful manner.
"It's um..." Quickly sparing the rest a look, thankfully, they were following Kirishima now as Ashido grinned giddily as the redhead smiled sheepishly at her. Now free from any prying eyes and ears, he lowered his hand from his mouth, showing the tiny smile twitching in place. "Y-you look s-stunning... a-and more words I-I'd rather not say o-out loud," He muttered a bit, trying to suppress his voice crack.
Hearing his compliment, Ciana looked away a little as her cheeks turn a bit more red now and a wider smile rose. Quickly looking back to make sure the others weren't looking… Ciana stood on her tippy toes to plant a quick kiss to her hero's cheek, stepping back once Ciana did as her cheerful smile was now shown in full view. "Thanks… I-I'm happy you think so." She shyly says but with clear joy in her tone.
"You think you can even handle the view of us girls in our swimwear?" She now asks teasingly, knowing how bashful Izuku is.
"T-The others? A little, still something I'm n-not really used to seeing. But you? I think my heart's racing too fast to keep up with the rest of me," He blurted out in one go, moving over to her side to grab her bag for her, in doing so, he returned the gesture to her own cheek before adding. "Let's go meet up with the others, i-if we don't, we'll be tormented all afternoon,"
Not only did his comment got her heart going but the gentleman gesture of him carrying her bag and his own kiss to her cheek, the action really made her smile warm and bright. Now walking up to catch up with Izuku. "So long as Bakugo doesn't fire more explosives at you during this trip." Ciana playfully responds with a giggle, already feeling like this is going to be a really fun day…
"I really wouldn't count on it," Izuku sighed lightly alongside her.
Moving over the walkway to the left side of the beach, they found their whole class aside from Iida, having stayed with his family after his brother was attacked. They had set up two barriers to corner off their area a little with their stuff added to a pile in the middle. Chairs, a parasol, and a cooler set in the shade with towels laid out on the sand. It was their own personal space. Already, everyone was busy chatting and getting drinks together.
To Ciana's surprise, as well as anyone else that did notice, sitting under the shade on a chair with Tokoyami was their antisocial classmate, Shoto. He seemed to be staring at his phone for a moment before putting it away to simply sit back with a relaxed breath. From his aura alone, Ciana could tell he was easing up in his seat.
Once Ciana had her stuff settled down where the chairs are, that's when she noticed Shoto ended up being here too when she perked her gaze up, Ciana was afraid she wouldn't see him but actually noticing he did turn up brought a big smile to her face. Standing up, Ciana ended up waving towards the class prince as she began to approach. "Todoroki!"
The girl happily called out to him, now approaching him with her bright usual smile on her face that matched her quirk. "I'm so glad you decided to show up, I was hoping to see you here as well." The girl pleasantly greets the boy, but also eyed her gothic bird headed friend also with her smile towards him too. "Same to you too, Tokoyami. It's nice to see you decided to spread your wings and join us." Ciana teasingly greets him as well with a bird pun.
"Yes, well, they were insistent on my presence, though I prefer to stay where I am," Tokoyami replied with his eyes closed, enjoying just being in the area.
Shoto then turned his head to Ciana and Izuku. "I'll more than likely do the same, I was contacting someone which is partially why I was unsure about coming,"
Ciana knew these two were a bit distant but she didn't think they want to sit around all day and waste a fun opportunity, her expression looking a bit confused with her head tilted. "You guys just going to sit there the rest of the day? Well it's good you both are out but take this chance to go swimming or play a game with us." She comments cheerfully as she gestured her hand to their surroundings.
"We probably won't be back until the summertime officially hits so live a little." Ciana tried to encourage the two boys, but knew they would be a challenge.
Tokoyami and Shoto shared a look, then back to Ciana. "I never said I'd sit out, I simply prefer the shade," Tokoyami replied, looking straight ahead.
"...training in the water would an interesting change of pace," Shoto murmured to himself. To Ciana's side, Izuku smiled slightly.
"Hearing how introvert these two are really makes me feel less awkward," He mused to himself, knowing Ciana well enough she'd prod them all afternoon to join them. "Let's just leave them for the time being, Kirishima seems to be getting something set up in the open beach ahead of us anyhow."
True to his word, just ahead, Kirishima used his hardened arm to drag borders through the sand while Sero, Sato, and Shoji got two posts and a net in place for volleyball.
Ciana giggled to herself, catching what Shoto said. "I guess he still wants to stay serious about his goal to be a hero…" Ciana amusingly says to herself, then glances at Izuku when he speaks, her smile rising again, noticing the game her friends are playing. "Oh wow they have a volleyball net put up? I haven't played that since I left my world! This sure will be a lot of fun."
Ciana pumped her fist excitedly, volleyball being one of her favorite sports game back home in school. Only they are playing on the beach rather than the school yard. "This probably be a good way to get some great exercise out of this too when it comes to focusing."
"Right, let's go see," Izuku offered, the two leaving their belongings in the safety of their class' wall and with two of them sitting by as added protection.
Once the 'court' was set up, Ashido punched a volleyball over to those willing to play the first game. Kirishima catching it as the two turned to look around. "Alright, who wants to battle first?" She asked giddily, drawing her finger between her chosen victims. "How about the lovely couple, hehehe?"
"I... you totally had us pegged from the start, d-didn't you?" Izuku gulped while Ashido grinned devilishly.
"I kinda had this coming…" Ciana comments with another giggle, but then got all excited and looking determined as her fists rose. "Your on though! Come on let's get this game going so I can wipe the floor with some of you!" Ciana playfully challenged, already she goes dashing to the field to get into the game.
"Hahaha, yes, I love the energy!" Ashido punched the air. "Alright, four on four then. Who's up for our teams?"
"Oi, Kirishima, Raccoon Eyes," Katsuki stepped forward, cracking his knuckles. "I'm going to kill them both, so I'm standing right here,"
"Sweet, we get the powerhouse!" Ashido grinned, slowly pivoting around on her heel. "Hrm... ah, Uraraka, you're with us!"
"Huh!? W-why me?" She pointed to herself as everyone else shuffled away less they be dragged into the same team with Katsuki.
Over with Izuku and Ciana, they had already found their extra players with better success than Ashido's sinister persuasion to drag Uraraka onto the field. "Alright, can't say I'll be much help though," Jiro shrugged with her arms crossed. Then raised a questioning brow at their fourth member. "You sure you'll not just trip yourself up?"
"Hey, I may not look it, but I've played this a bunch of times, I got this!" Kaminari boasted, patting his bare chest. "Besides, against someone like Bakugo, this is as good as we'll get,"
"I have to agree, if Shoji is sitting this out, having mobility will help us catch the ball at wider ranges; it's basically strength versus speed when you think about it," Izuku agreed with the blonde, nervously watching Kirishima and Katsuki speak. "But... I'll be completely honest, Kacchan will try to bury both the ball and us in the sand."
"I'm not really surprised he get into this when the opportunity comes for him to be blow us away…" Ciana sweatdropped with a sheepish smile. "I just hope he doesn't accidentally pop the ball… but no time to shake up!" Already she had her game face on with her fists raised in confidence again.
"We got this, I remember how really smart you are Izuku when it comes to strategies, especially when we first did that battle test together when we started UA. I have faith you'll lead us to victory." She happily praises her hero. "Wait, so are we using our quirks for this or not? Cuz Bakugo looks like he wants to use his…"
Izuku blushed a bit, "T-thanks, but really I don't have much of a plan, more so communication and spatial awareness are key. As for quirks, we're in public so we can't, even if Kacchan wanted to. Though his habit of making tiny sparks when he's angry isn't anything people would concern with law breaking,"
"Uh, String Bean? He's always angry," Jiro stated flatly.
"Like always, man," Kaminari grimaced a bit.
"You guys done!?" Ashido hollered, spinning the ball atop her finger before catching it. "'Cause ready or not, here it comes!"
"Well quirk or not, he will still give a hard hit… but okay let's do this!" Ciana didn't look scared and actually seemed excited, already the girl got into position, she knew how to play so could be one of the reasons why Ciana didn't look shaken up.
Even if Izuku didn't have much of a plan she still believed in him, win or lose Ciana is eager to have fun. "Look alive you guys! Cuz we'll be needing these skills when we're back to classes tomorrow!" Ciana tells her team cheerfully.
"Right!" The trio replied, all fanning out with the boys at the front and the girls to the back, mirroring the formation against them.
Ashido didn't spare a second and severed the ball high, Izuku moved in quickly to pass the ball across to Kaminari with his forearms, giving him the chance to send the ball flying up. Ciana, seeing her chance, lunged and spiked the ball down towards Ashido's team. But she scoffed when Kirishima caught it with an underarm dig, as it flew over the net only for Katsuki to jump and yell, slamming his hand down on the ball as it dug into the sand between Izuku and Kaminari.
"That's one for Ashido's team!" Yaoyorozu announced, her arm raised to the scoring team. "Midoriya's team serve next!"
"He's already getting fired up…" Ciana shook her head amusingly at the display, he's really eager to beat Izuku… probably at anything, Ciana only feared if he accidentally would hurt someone. At least he didn't knock it into anyones faces…
Seeing that Izuku is serving now, Ciana gives the guy an encouraging thumbs up. "Give it your best shot Izuku!"
Nodding, Izuku gave a running start and sent the ball flying over the net. Uraraka moved forward, managing the catch the ball with her arm as it spun toward Ashido to severed it back sideways to Kirishima to spike toward Izuku's side. Jiro slipped in behind the greenette, catching it from below as she landed on her stomach. The ball was high enough for Kaminari to quickly stand over her and serve high as it did a narrow arc over the net. Only for Ashido to grin as she aimed to slam it down again.
It fell but to Ashido's startled face, the ball flew past her face, rolling across the sand as Ciana landed, dusting off her hands as Jiro stood up with her, smirking. "The score is one-one!" Yaoyorozu announced. "Ashido's team will serve!"
Kaminari beamed. "Great job with that save, Jiro!"
"Eh, just kinda did it without thinking," She shrugged slightly, dusting the sand off her torso. "Best to three, so we've got a chance."
"Right, and that was an amazing comeback, Ciana," Izuku nodded to her with a sweet smile. He really liked how fierce she was, just like with the Sports Festival, she was fired up and it transferred to him.
Ciana blushed a little from his praise and smiled while rubbing her shoulder. "Thanks! I played this game a lot back home so I know how to get around, but I was pretty impressed by the quick move Jiro!" Now turning her attention to her punk rock friend.
"Already everyone's getting their game on like back at the festival." The match wasn't over yet and knew Bakugo would probably get more pumped himself… but so far Ciana is having a lot of fun.
"Here it comes! Kaminari!" Jiro alerted the blonde as he stumbled but managed to stay within bounds and sent the ball backward toward his team as Kirishima ran back into place from his sneak attack serve.
Jiro bounced it to Izuku who then sent it over with his own leaping spike, but Katsuki glared back, punching it from below as he fell to his knees, giving Uraraka the chance to use his back like a springboard to launch the ball further past the trio toward the back of their pitch. Ciana slid to her side, smacking the ball in time as Jiro caught it with her knuckle, flinging it high enough for Kaminari to smack it back over the net, or had several hands not shot up to block it, causing the ball to tumble back, bounce off the blonde's head and land in the sand.
"Ashido's team is now at two points, Midoriya's with one! Latter team serves!" Yaoyorozu announced as their class got pumped up by the close match with a few bystanders watching out of simple curiosity. Primarily because they were the golden class of the Sports Festival still going on which drew attention.
"Crap, sorry, I thought I had it," Kaminari winced, offering the ball to Jiro this time.
"We've still got a chance to even the score, but that won't be easy," Izuku nodded in agreement.
"You did good Kaminari, I believe you'll do awesome the next round." She gives her lightning bolt friend a smile and thumbs up too, then eyes her other team, placing her hand on her chin as she thinks this over. "This is sure getting challenging… definitely have to keep a close watch on Bakugo cuz he's clearly eyeing our team carefully…" Ciana also took notice Izuku has been a little shaken up facing Bakugo again even if it isn't a life or death battle…
Ciana knows Izuku is pretty good at eyeing his opponent too but when it comes to Bakugo, he loses his confidence a little… but not as much as before… suddenly Ciana got an idea as she snapped her fingers, having an idea how to possibly get Izuku more pumped. Suddenly she leaned close to Izukus ear with her hand covering up the side of her mouth to avoid the others hearing…
"Hey Izuku… if there's a possible chance we win this, I'll sing to you tonight as an award for your hard work…" Ciana was flustered saying this, but knew how much Izuku was eager to hear her voice. Thinking this will get him to give it his all again…
Bu-bum
His heart thundered once in his ears as the team got back into formation. Izuku stared down at the ball Jiro tossed to him, his fingers creased into their form as his whole aura shifted suddenly. He lifted his head, and only a blaze in his eyes remained, and a smirk that could put Katsuki to shame. "Kaminari, high!" He served it left, and the blonde smacked it as high as possible. Kneeling down to borrow Katsuki's move, Jiro saw her opening.
She ran and leapt to spike the ball, but Uraraka was ready, managing to serve it upward as she fell backward but recovered quickly. Katsuki moved first, "DIE!" He slammed his fist down on the ball, intending to shoot straight down at Jiro's feet. The purplette smirked, stepping back as Ciana's hand rose from below, flicking the ball backward over Katsuki's shoulder.
"I got it!" Kirishima tapped it toward Ashido to swung high and back to Uraraka to run and shoot forward only to yelp when the ball flew straight by their faces, Izuku's hand retracting from over the net as he and Katsuki stared off for a moment at the sudden comeback. "Uh... don't got it?"
"The score is tied, last hit wins!" Yaoyorozu declared as the ball was now in Ashido's court as she threw it to Katsuki who was itching to blast the enemy away, grinning madly.
"Holy hell, Greenie, where'd that come from?" Jiro chuckled, liking this competitiveness.
"You completely slack-jawed Bakugo!" Kaminari grinned, slapping Izuku's back.
"Ah, I-I just want to give us all a win, s-since we lost at the festival, let's g-get our own victory," He offered a confident thumbs up, the trio returning it, enjoying that idea especially since the winner of said festival was losing now.
Ciana's smile rose wider, noticing Izuku was giving it his all now which made her proud to see, giving her hero a proud thumbs up and a loving smile towards him. "You looked really cool out there Izuku! Nice going!" Ciana praises her hero.
"Last game so let's give it our all! Good luck everyone." She wishes her team luck, making sure no one was looking… Ciana gave another smile and a wink towards Izuku for encouragement before getting back in position, her expression turning serious and excited again.
"You three, no matter what, we're going for a total victory!" Katsuki growled, his eyes twitching as his burning aura extended to the ball that he swung high into the air and well over the frontlines. Jiro backed toward the border, managing to swing her fist up to fling it sideways toward Ciana who bounced it along to Kaminari. Once it was high enough, Izuku moved in to spike it down, but so did Uraraka who gave him a sharp grin.
"Sorry, Midoriya, but I'm-" She was faster, the ball flying past Izuku's hand. "-winning this!"
The ball shot toward the ground, only for the surprising save from Kaminari's own face as he headbutted the ball high for Jiro to quickly scamper forward and punch over the net, the pair landing atop one another with Jiro laying over Kaminari's stomach. The ball spun in a wide arc, but Kirishima managed to curve his body in time to bounce it toward Ashido who threw it for Katsuki.
"No way in hell, Deku!" He yelled, slapping the ball down toward Jiro and Kaminari.
Instead, though, Ciana slid onto her back, saving the ball as it made it just above the net for Izuku to loom over the rest, bringing the full weight of his hand down as the ball curved, burying itself halfway into the sand at Kirishima's and Katsuki's feet in an instant. The three in the sand were soon joined by Izuku who sighed in exasperation, laying on his knees while Jiro sheepishly removed herself from Kaminari who sat up feel a little bashful himself before the group smiled at one another with a short chuckle.
Yaoyorozu raised her hand. "Midoriya's team is the victor!"
Their classmates, but also a few onlookers, applauded the game while Ashido sighed in anguish but smirked as she high-fived Uraraka. Kirishima nudged Katsuki's shoulder, the blonde looking annoyed but ultimately rolled his eyes, accepting he lost... this time.
The moment they were declared the winner, Ciana jumped and cheered. "Yeah we did it! You guys were amazing!" Ciana praised her friends with a wide and cheerful smile, really praying Bakugo doesn't take this loss personal since it's just a game… looking toward Izuku who was on his knees, Ciana approached him in front with her hand out to him.
Her smile looked warm and proud towards her hero. "You were incredible Izuku, I don't expect any less from my hero." She happily praises with her eyes closed and head tilted while her hand was still holding out for him.
He stared at her for a moment, then smiled softly as he took her hand, lifted back to his feet before he brought his other hand up to her head, brushing off some sand before he fixed her hairpin back to her head. "It fell out during our match, so I kept it safe in my hand," Izuku replied, "And you were amazing too, so were you Jiro, Kaminari,"
"Anytime," Jiro winked with an 'OK' sign.
"That was seriously close, heh," Kaminari grinned, rubbing under his nose.
Ciana was a but surprised and flustered by the gesture, but more stunned to find out her hairpin fell out and Izuku kept it safe for her… which Ciana greatly appreciated, she would of been heartbroken if she lost it, now eyeing her other teammates with her smile still intact. "You guys pulled off some pretty impressive moves, that was a lot of fun! I just hope Bakugo doesn't take the loss too hard."
Though suddenly Ciana realized something… her expression now looked a little confused and suspicious as her gaze now looked around. "Hey… I just realized something, what happened to Mineta? Didn't he say he was coming to the beach as well with us…?" Ciana took notice she hasn't seen him since she arrived, now wondering what happened to the little leach…
"Uh, right, no one told you, huh?" Jiro snickered a bit, pointing lazily toward the gazebo. "Just squint and you'll see where he is, right, Kaminari?"
"Ye-yeah, I-I did warn him, even if you guys weren't here y-yet but..." He bit his lip anxiously as the young couple turned and looked to where the jack pointed for them.
If they looked hard enough, one of the posts of the gazebo were deformed... and moving alot... like a human would. Then it hit them, Mineta had been bound to the gazebo facing the ocean, unable to look elsewhere.
"Only ten minutes, and apparently he was analysing us and some other girls so Yaomomo had Sero tape him up for the afternoon, he'll be fine, he's in the shade," Jiro shrugged, taking a sip from her water bottle off to the side while new teams were made, Katsuki included to win this time. "Little runt deserves it."
Staring toward where the guy was pinned… really made her speechless seeing what her friends did. She felt a little bad for the guy but… its probably for the best… Ciana started to chuckle as she placed her hand over her mouth to try and hold most of her laughs in. "I-I feel more safer this way at least… this seems a little extreme though."
She has never witnessed anyone doing anything like this to another person before, it was shocking but hilarious. "But anyways… we might as well grab a cold beverage after that game, oh and Izuku…" now gazing back at her hero, she smiled thankfully and warmly towards him. "Thank you for looking after my hair clip… that really meant a lot." She tells him before going off to grab a soda from the cooler.
Ciana was exhausted from the game and needed something cold to drink, as she did this she took a glance towards Bakugo and Tororoki to see how they were doing in the distance.
"Hey, you Icy-Hot bastard!" Katsuki's yell travelled far enough for Shoto to look up from his texting to see Katsuki clutching the volleyball in one hand while pointing his free hand toward the teen. "We're having a rematch right now, get on the opposite team so I can destroy you!"
"We're not permitted to using our quirks outside of UA," Shoto replied.
"We're settling this in volleyball, now hurry up, dammit! Before I bury you alive!" Katsuki's eyes were jagged and red with rage.
Sighing out his nose, Shoto set his phone back into his bag after sending a quick message before getting up. "Will you be joining us?" He asked Tokoyami who seemed to be sleeping sitting upright.
His red eyes were revealed again, "Very well, I gave Finley my word when we decided on this, and if we can quell Bakugo's fury a little I may get some peace,"
"Hey… everything okay over here?" Ciana suddenly came over with two drinks in her hand, her expression looked a little concerned for the two boys. "Not that it's any of my business and I don't mean to come by to pry… but I brought some drinks over for you both, figured you want to hydrate yourself after that last match Bakugo." She first offers explody fist a soda with her usual warm smile towards him as she holds it out for him.
Ciana could guess Bakugo was challenging Todoroki to a match since they didn't have a real one last time… she hoped she might calm the situation just so the both of them can relax and have fun but not like she will get in the way of their game if they both want to play against each other.
"I'm going to finish what I started..." He grunted, taking the drink with a nod of thanks. "Here me, you better not hold back or else!"
Shoto didn't say a word and simply went to his side with Tokoyami, Hagakure, and Ojiro. While Katsuki's team scrambled together, he added after taking a sip. "You shouldn't wear that pin during all this, if it's that damn important,"
Realizing that he pointed to her hair clip as a reminder, she perked up at this as her hands reached up towards it. "Oh your right!" Ciana remembered that she told Bakugo it belonged to her mom at one point in her younger days, now placing it in her bag to keep it safe.
She looked back at her explosive friend with a smile and nod of gratitude. "Thanks for reminding me Bakugo, I really appreciate it." She tells him, thankful he's looking out for her as well.
"You're such an idiot if you didn't think to do that when you came here," Rolling his eyes as he stared away from her for a while before shaking his head to look elsewhere as he waited, drinking sharply. Ciana found that rather odd, looking in the same direction the blonde was, but all she saw was Uraraka, Jiro, and Izuku chatting amongst themselves.
Ciana blinked her eyes a few times as she started to take notice he was seemingly a little calmer than usual, he still has his aggressive and competitive attitude but the guy seems to be having a good time.
This brought her smile perked up, happy for him, glad to see Bakugo is doing better. "You seem a lot calmer now since the festival… I'm glad to see this trip has brought some peace to your wild set of mind…" Ciana couldn't help but say and tease.
"I'm always calm!" He snapped back, his brow twitching. drinking again, he added lowly. "You've been on edge since the end of the match, so really, it's you that isn't relaxing,"
Ciana chuckled at his funny angry side as usual, she still did find him amusing as she still kept her smile. Her arms behind her back, feeling the wind blow past her hair. "Well I have been stressing out about some things during the festival… but even after everything crazy that's happened I really enjoyed the experience."
She replied cheerfully. "Say Bakugo… how come you never asked me about my involvement to this world when you heard I came from another world?" Now asking him curiously with a tilt of her head. "I figured you demand answers about that when you first heard."
"Because, you're a terrible liar like Deku," He replied curtly. "You both can't lie to save your lives; besides, you'd probably give me an answer in some long-winded speech anyway, wouldn't you?"
"Well… possibly…" she answered awkwardly, freeing one hand to scratch her cheek. "But not like I wouldn't tell you the truth at that point, the only reason why I never told in the beginning was because…"
She averted her gaze a little. "I thought you would judge me more and think I was a freak if you found out I came from a quirkless world…"
Katsuki's way of thinking was that if you didn't have the strength to fight, don't bother and let someone else do the fighting. If you didn't have a quirk, don't do something that'll get you killed or in someone's way who has power. It was as simple as that. Yet, without her quirk, she seemed to handle herself better than most, and a world without quirks sounded dull on the surface, but that's just how things were two centuries ago, and people had other ways to hurt others.
"You can fight, and take a hit, you said you grew up in a place with thugs and the like, and you survived, that's already proof enough I shouldn't take you lightly, even if you are weaker," As much as he hated it, Izuku had beaten him once without barely using his quirk before it destroyed him. He'd never forget that.
Ciana perked up from his words, nodding happily and thankfully towards him. "Thanks Katsuki, that really means a lot… Izuku told me he thought you hated him at first was because he didn't have a quirk at the time so I thought maybe you didn't like people who were like me…"
Ciana rubbed her neck shyly now. "But when you still treated me like an equal I could tell that wasn't the case, you know he actually always told me he always admires how incredibly strong you are." Ciana tells him with a wide smile, feeling the same way towards his strength.
"That damn nerd is an idiot," He growled, creasing his soda a bit. "Shut up about him..." Now his aura shimmered with festering negativity.
Noticing his anger is increasing again, Ciana flinched a little. He really has intense hatred for him. "I-I know you hate talking about your relationship with Izuku, b-but I'm just mentioning him because I want to help… I'm just worried you will lose your temper again and lose sight of yourself like last time…"
She presses her fingers together in a shaken manner. "I won't ask further, but… can you promise me no matter how much hate you feel towards Izuku or anyone else… you won't ever lose sight of who you want to become?" She asks this as she looks at him in worry.
"I haven't, and never will, so quit asking," He warned, then turned to wander back to the volleyball court. "Hey, Kirishima! Hurry up, I want to see that Icy-Hot bastard destroyed!"
"Uh, right!" He waved, joining the temperamental blonde's side quickly.
"Y'know, after hearing him yell all the time, he really loses that fear factor... not that he was anything but bark half the time," Jiro rolled her eyes, the trio having walked over.
"I totally thought you guys were really chill now," Uraraka chuckled slightly.
"You okay, Ciana?" Izuku tapped her shoulder, tilting his head to look at her. "Did something happen?"
Despite how the guy lashed out at her, at least she felt a little better hearing he won't lose sight of his goals. Making her smile a little towards him before looking to Izuku.
She shook her head before speaking with her smile again. "Don't worry about it, everything's fine." She at least hoped so… knowing the guy still hates Izuku a lot. "So! Anyone up for a swim maybe? I was just thinking about stepping into the water."
"Be kinda a waste not to like," Jiro shrugged. "Alright,"
"Yeah, I'm in!" Uraraka beamed.
While Izuku wasn't certain, he smiled nonetheless, "Sure, let's go."
Without a second to lose, the group quickly made their way to the calm shoreline. To test, Izuku took the dive first, getting a running start before leaping far with a wider leap into the water. It was cool but not frigid as he felt the heat of the sun lift from his shoulders as he surfaced with a sigh. Giving the girls a thumbs up to follow suit.
Seeing that it's their cue to go in, Ciana slipped her sundress off as well as her flip flops near her stuff as she now cheerfully goes running towards the water.
Feeling the water halfway Ciana thought it felt a great and perfect temperature, sinking her head in the water and then diving back up with a big smile on her face as she now swam in a little over the deep end. "The waters great! My gosh it's been so long since I got to go swimming like this!" The girl expresses cheerfully, already enjoying the water.
"I know, I wonder why we never did this as part of training..." Izuku added beside her, floating atop the water before a great splash struck his face, forcing him to spasm in fright as laughter filled the air. He deadpanned, spitting out the salt water when he looked to the source waving a jack at him.
"You looked peaceful for a moment, thought I'd help," Jiro grinned wickedly as Uraraka giggled next to her only to quickly swim aside when water doused the rocker instead, and she glared back at Izuku looking back at Ciana like nothing happened.
"So... having fun?" He tried to steer back.
Ciana giggled at the playful splash the guy was hit with, she could tell her gal friends were having fun too. Ciana smiled wider with pink rising on her cheeks as she nodded to confirm that.
"Yep! I'm having a blast so far, we really should do this more often when the weathers warm." Being close up to Izuku, seeing not only that he was shirtless but how attractive he looked when he's wet… really made her heart hammer in her chest and had to look away to try and hide her red face. "I-I figured you are too since we're all together… a-as well as beating Bakugo in that volleyball game…" she laughs a little shyly, Izuku really looks irresistible like this…
"The look on his face was priceless," Jiro snorted, brushing her wet locks from her hair as they swam around. "Gotta kick his pride between the legs more often, Greenie,"
"I-I really want to live past my first y-year at UA, thanks," He raised his hand a bit, removing his gaze from Ciana's glistening skin due to the water and sunlight, scratching his red cheek quickly before diving under for a moment before coming back up, mainly to cool down his face. "Ah... still, i-it was a lot of fun," Meanwhile, his mind was starting to daydream. "Just her swimsuit alone is really good, but just seeing her wet from the sea is really proving to be hard to ignore..."
"I'll say, you guys were in total sync!" Uraraka replied, allowing her body to float on the water as she smiled up at the blue sky. "Like, even if we caught you off guard, you had the perfect fall back plan without even saying much at all, kinda scary,"
"Kaminari was alright, I guess," Jiro with her aloof exterior shrugged.
Even the way he came back up from the water increased her heart rate… she had to turn around as she felt herself mentally squealing, she had a huge urge to put her arms around him and had to retrain herself. "T-the water is so clear and nice, I-I think I'll explore what's under!"
Ciana says with a stutter as she took a deep breath and dove under the water, Ciana was having a hard not staring at Izuku… trying to keep her focus under the water as she starts seeing fish swimming by, which is a beautiful sight so far as well as the coral.
The undersea life was pretty active too as Ciana gazed down at the seabed not far below. Schools of fish swam in circles before scattering by coral, the odd bit of sunken remains like a tire, oil bin, etc. peppered the sandy bed. However, something caught the sunlight above, forcing Ciana to blink a bit as she saw something reflective below, it appeared to be coming from the coral? Noting this, she pulled her head back above the water, seeing Izuku swim back into her trying to evade being splashed again.
"O-oh, sorry," He smiled meekly, feeling her body against his side.
Ciana was very surprised by the sudden impact, looking up to see it was Izuku she bumped into and they were much closer together… staring up at his face for a few seconds, slowly the heat creeped up on her cheeks enough to show red in them. Quickly swimming bit back in a panic. "I-it's okay! S-sorry!"
She quickly apologies with a frantic wave to her hands, looking away a little as she began to play with her wet hair bashfully. "I-I should have seen where I was going…" already Ciana could feel her heart picking up again… shutting her eyes tightly, feeling so drawn to him just seeing Izuku so alluring looking in the water…
"It's a-alright, really," When they were alone would be a better time for this, he knew that but it was very hard otherwise.
"So, why'd you come back up so suddenly anyhow?" Jiro thankfully asked, sensing the distress between the secret couple. "I doubt a few seconds was enough to drive you above water again."
"Huh? Oh! Um… well…" Ciana straightens back up and clears her throat to try and ease the awkwardness. "I-I actually saw something shiny in the water, it looked like it was attached to the coral beds below." She answers so far, looking back down where she is. "I'm not sure what it was… but figured I should catch my breath before going back down to check it out closer…"
Already her curiosity takes hold of the girl.
"Could be some old piece of metal..." Uraraka figured as it was very likely.
"Gotta agree with Uraraka here, probably from all the trash that used to pile up here, can't imagine all of the waters were cleared," Jiro added, unaware that a certain green-haired boy had taken that liberty a little in the final stretch of his training.
"Well, no harm in looking, right?" Izuku shrugged, looking to Ciana. "Want to check it out then?"
Even if it was nothing, Ciana was still curious. You can find anything in the water that could be valuable or just trash, either way she wanted to do a little bit of exploring as she nodded towards her handsome hero. "Yeah, rather not take up the chance of it's something worth grabbing." She responds playfully, taking a big breath of air again as Ciana goes diving back down…
Once she does, she looks around the floor beds to try and catch sight of the item again…
The others dived too, pushing against the water to level out with Ciana under the waves. She led the way, swimming deeper to reach the seabed as they simply floated for a time, looking around for anything that was reflective aside from rusted metal. Ciana scanned the coral, her eyes widening as she spotted the small arch of red coral sticking up above the rest. She tapped Izuku's leg, drawing him down to her side as he used her shoulder to pull himself closer.
Ciana pointed, and he turned to wave his arm to the girls to gather quickly. Then, he dove forward, latching onto the peak of the coral to inspect what was wedged in, his brow creased as it appeared to be giving him some trouble. He perked up, quickly ushering Jiro over. The rocker swam forward, taking his hand to be pulled near as he tapped the coral then looked at her jacks.
Nodding, she jabbed the coral as hard as she could, and with some degree of difficulty, she vibrated the material into breaking apart for Izuku to wrench the item free, waving his fist high to let them know he caught it. Uraraka and Ciana smiled at each other, high-fiving while Jiro knuckled Izuku's shoulder before the four swam quickly to the surface.
After that fun little expedition she and her friends did below the water, she finally catches her breath again. Taking a moment to breathe before gazing towards Izuku. "N-nice going guys! S-so what did it turn out to be?" She asked Izuku who was the one to snag the item from the coral.
His smile was wide, pulling up for all to see what laid in his palm delicately. Despite being submerged for however long, the item retained its polished texture as it caught the sunlight between them. A silver coin embedded with a deep blue gemstone. "They can show up anywhere, so long as people have passed by the realm or warped through it, leaving behind a remnant of time - a Gatestone,"
Cianas eyes widened realizing what they ended up finding, the very item to help get her home… and it was sitting in the ocean, they found one. Very stunned by the way they found, Cianas smile one happily and excitedly at their discovery. Enough to lunge at Izuku with her arms thrown around him. "We found one! We actually found one! We did it! I-I can't believe it!"
Ciana laughed excitedly with her arms tightening her grip on him, not even realizing what she did as the girl was too happy to see she was possibly making him flustered.
Izuku managed to hold onto the coin tightly as Ciana practically dive atop him, making him chuckle a bit as he held it up to the light. "Yeah..." For a moment, he felt... worried. She now had two coins, that was a round trip... if she wanted to return. But in doing so, she'd be right back at square one, and the chances of two more gatestones ever appearing would be next to zero. Forcing down that feeling, he hugged her with his free arm. "You can finally go home whenever you want, Ciana,"
"Talk about a find! Nice spotting!" Jiro smiled too, patting the girl's back while Uraraka pumped her fist high.
"Woohoo!" She laughed, though felt a little strange seeing the pair so close and happy together, but she shrugged it off and smiled supportively for her friend's chance to return home.
Ciana finally pulled away as she cheered more with her arms in the air, knowing she has the chance to go home whenever she wants. She at least didn't look concerned about leaving so she still plans to stick around. "Nice going everyone! I can't believe we managed to find one!"
She was pumped and her wide smile showed that. "Hopefully we can find more now that we have one, who knows where the others could be hiding."
"I told you-" Two blue eyes and a wide smile appeared behind Ciana. "-they can appear anywhere, though, I forgot to say, they're more likely to appear at a point of entry,"
"YAH!" The four instantly threw themselves back in the water as Chaser floated up to literally stand on the surface, shaking off the salt water... and regrowing his right arm as his clothing looked to be scorched from a blast as that black mist leaked from his shoulder and gashes.
"Why the hell do you keep doing that crap!?" Jiro yelled furiously.
"I think my life just flashed before my eyes...!" Uraraka gasped for breath while Izuku held Ciana tightly as she had leapt forward, his face reddening as her chest hit his face before she floated in the water next to him, completely unaware of what she did.
Ciana didn't even pay any mind to what Izuku was eyeing as it was more focused on Chaser who just appeared shockingly, raising her brow at the odd but funny guy. "W-were you really eyeing me this entire time? Seriously… are you stalking me at this point?" Ciana asks as now feels like her privacy is being violated…
She could tell he takes joy in startling people, now wondering how long has the world traveler been watching her…?
"Hey, you were the first person that came to mind, be grateful, I had to make a quick escape!" Chaser pouted before a new arm shot from his socket, only now the skin was pitch black with sharp white nails as his clothing slowly weaved around his hand to form the glove. "I took a point blank explosion to the side, the things I do for little Zorah are astounding!" He scoffed. "Only because she asked me too... ahem, anyway, sorry about that, haven't had a scare like that in centuries, haha!"
Rolling his new shoulder, he gave the four a wave. "Well then, congrats on finding a new stone, I'll be on my way, hopefully before that annoying contractor of mine calls," Rolling his eyes, he wandered off towards the shoreline, walking atop the water.
"Did he seriously just use you like a teleport stone?" Jiro splashed the water a bit.
"Or how creepy that arm of his is?" Uraraka shivered.
"I mean... so long as he's okay, right?" Izuku cleared his throat, feeling his eyes linger on the water and away from Ciana entirely until his heart rate calmed.
Ciana sweatdropped from the display with a sheepish smile. "Only thing I fear is the thought of Bakugo seeing him, I really hope he hasn't noticed him…" Ciana wasn't too surprised the guy was still watching her, rubbing the back of her head. "He sure is a mystery but a little funny in character…"
Ciana now tried to ease the awkwardness. "A-anyways! Now that we found a Gatestone we have to keep it in a safe place. I wonder if there's any more in the water?" Ciana didn't think there was, but she was a little curious to see if she would come across more that could have washed ashore nearby. Looking down in the water.
"Well, why not keep searching?" Uraraka suggested. "I think that was a lot of fun, not really often I can say I've treasure hunted at the beach,"
"Might as well! Even if we don't find any more, we could find something new to take home as a souvenir." Already Ciana goes back diving under the water, smiling excitedly as she starts to look below the floor beds again. She came up for air a few times as the girl continued to look, so far she's just been finding seashells, coral, seaweed and trash people throw around. Which disgusts her…
Eventually when Ciana tried to get a closer look at the coral again, something happened… her foot gets caught between one of the coral beds, which stuns the girl as she looks back to see she was now stuck… Ciana panics at this as she tries to pull her leg free, but only causes her to wince from how hard and sharp the coral was as she ends up drawing blood…
Despite her pain she tried to pry the coral apart, having a hard time doing so and was beginning to lose her breath the longer she stayed down…
Izuku shook his head, turning to look back to the surface when he saw the streak of bubbles coming from the right. He leaned forward, then almost lost his breath when he spotted Ciana trying to pull herself up with little success. She was trapped. He didn't even think at all, bolts of emerald light crackling in the water around him as his body shimmered before he swept his arms wide, and his body propelled itself fast enough to land against the coral next to her. Droplets of blood trickled upward too as he held the coral by her leg and immediately struck the base of the twisting rock formation, splitting it wide open as her momentum threw her back slightly.
Reaching up, he managed to grab her in time as her mouth was ajar, having lost her breath. Without thinking, Izuku brought his lips to hers, sealing off her mouth in time to share a few precious breaths with her, his body relaxing, knowing she was still conscious which was a good thing.
Cianas eyes opened slightly to noticed Izuku was performing CPR underwater with her… which brought some of her senses back and felt her cheeks heating up, forgetting she was stuck in danger for a moment, noticing he had himself powered up in the water with her which took the girl by surprise a little. Her leg was now free but winced in pain feeling the throbbing of her bloody leg that was caught… now dripping in blood and wounded.
Once pulled above the water, they separated with a gasp, Ciana coughing up seawater as she held onto Izuku for support. "Yo, you alright?" Jiro swam over then gasped. "Shit, you're bleeding!"
"Finley, what happened?" Uraraka joined them as the ravenette held onto Izuku tightly.
"Her leg was caught... in the coral... so I broke her out in time," Izuku didn't even think about it, triggering his quirk to save her. "Come on, hold onto my back, I'll swim us to the shore,"
"We'll swim back faster to grab medical stuff Yaomomo brought, just hang tight," Jiro quickly called, "Let's go," She nodded to Uraraka.
"Right behind you!" The two quickly swam on ahead as Izuku helped Ciana move to his back.
Ciana could not believe she got herself in a dangerous situation, she didn't think she would get her foot caught… she's normally very careful, Ciana held onto Izukus neck behind his back as she let him help carry her. "I-I'm so sorry Izuku… y-you didn't hurt yourself when you powered yourself up, did you?" Ciana looked to her hero in more worry than herself, afraid he broke one of his body parts just using One For All again.
"It only took five percent, but... you should worry... about yourself," He breathed, swimming strongly back to the shoreline, which thankfully wasn't too far.
Ciana still had a hold of him as he went, though she was still concerned for his well-being. She glanced at her leg to see she left a big scratch below her foot and blood oozing out… Ciana was hurt but was more afraid if Izuku injured himself while using his dangerous power, but he seemed alright… at least she hoped so. "I-I got kinda reckless it seems… but thank you for the save, I never thought I get my foot caught like this…"
Ciana felt really dumb she didn't look out for herself more as she averted her gaze, she hated looking like a weakling that couldn't handle herself… Ciana felt she should have powered herself up and maybe she would have got out of the coral herself.
"It can happen, I'm not exactly capable of keeping myself out of harm," He smiled slightly, and upon entering shallow water, he moved and wrapped one arm over his shoulders, allowing her to hop on one leg safely. "You okay?"
Now leaning on her hero as they got closer to the shore, Ciana winnced while trying to move her leg. "I-I'm fine… just a scratch, nothing to be concerned about." She tried to smile reassuringly. "If I can take a deadly cat scratch then this should be no problem."
"I know," But his grip remained firm, helping to walk her back to their class' set up where Jiro waved them over. "For now, let's get your wound cleaned, don't think you want to spend the rest of the afternoon sitting doing nothing, right?" Hugging her close as they walked, he murmured. "You're tough enough to deal with walking on an injured foot, I know that, which is why we'll alleviate as much pain as possible."
"You're too good to me Izuku…" she giggled, smiling warmly at his protective nature of her. Now sitting down on a towel that's laid out, looking back up at Izuku with another bright smile. "This is basically the second time you saved my life, you truly are my hero like I told you in the beginning." Ciana once again praises and expresses gratitude towards her handsome hero, feeling so warm he keeps watching over her.
"Yeah, yeah, make all the love you guys want when I'm not sitting here please," Jiro rolled her eyes as she got a roll of bandages and a bottle of water. "Uraraka's just letting the rest know you're not needing to have your foot amputated so they'll not hound you,"
"T-thanks, Jiro," Izuku sighed, relieved they'd get some privacy.
The rocker nodded, dousing Ciana's foot in the cold water as she hissed from the stinging while Jiro patted the area with a cloth to dry Ciana's foot off, then, with a small amount of bandages, wrapped her foot tightly. Tying the bandage up, she sat back on her knees with a smile. "Alright, that'll do it, just sit for a while so the bleeding will stop before you try walking around, but I doubt you'd need me to tell ya that,"
She rolled her eyes playfully being told this, still keeping her smile. "If I must, won't be any fun sitting around but I will if it keeps you all from worrying." She responds with a giggle after that, now having no choice but to lay back on a towel to heal her injured leg, how fun…
"How ever will you survive?" Jiro smirked, a can hovering above Ciana's face, offered by the musician. "Like I said, no one's gonna bother you for like fifteen minutes, think you'll be fine with Broccoli Head here,"
"You... really have no end of vegetables for me," Izuku slumped at Jiro patted his head.
"Part of my charm, chao," With a wink, she left them to sit and relax alone.
Ciana gave a nod of thanks to her friend when she accepted the can, now looking to broccoli boy with an amusing smile on her face, remembering she thought the same thing at first. "I have to admit, I still wonder how your hair colors natural…" she teases with another giggle, now opening the can to take a sip out of it. "But it's not a bad color, it just makes you look unique which I like about you."
Sat next to her, Izuku rubbed his neck. "I could say the same about your eyes, sure, we have the same colouration but yours tends to come out in multiple shades of green in the light, it's really mesmerizing."
She blushed very pink at this comment, freeing one hand to rub her own neck bashfully while looking down at her lap. "I-I still find it odd I do that but I-I'm touched you think so…" she fiddled with the can in her hand, feeling like squealing inside. "I-I'm sorry I worried you by the way, I never like when I get myself stuck in a dumb situation like that… if Bakugo hears about this then I'm sure he call me an idiot for being reckless." Her expression now showing a guilty smile, Ciana didn't like worrying her friends either.
"Funny, how often I worry you being stupidly reckless," He added, looking up at the sky for a moment. "But... that just means I know you care as much as I care about you,"
Ciana wasn't sure if she should feel touched or insulted by that comment, raising her brow at him playfully. "Hey hold up… you saying what I do is stupid…?" Now glaring at him as she wondered if broccoli boy thought she acts very dumb sometimes.
"Ah, n-no! Well, n-not intentionally - not what I'm trying to - sorry..." He waved his hands frantically. "I... r-really don't k-know how to properly say this wi-without it sounding like a-an insult..." Once again proving how stupid he was when it came to anything outside of heroics.
Ciana ended up punching his shoulder playfully. "You're one to talk, I didn't break my arms and legs back during the robot fight to get into UA. As well as breaking your finger to show off your quirk… also when you fought to make Bakugo stop acting like a psycho… shall I go on?" She challenged with a little smirk.
"You've m-made your point clear o-on all those fronts, a-and the first was inexperience, the second w-was the threat of being expelled, a-and the third... yeah th-that I can't excuse," He slumped a bit, rubbing his bicep. "...sorry,"
Seeing that she made him feel uneasy, she gave a quick kiss to his cheek. "Sure you were reckless but very determined to achieve your goals which I admire, but I still rather you don't keep hurting yourself…"
He kept his head lowered slightly, his lips curled up a bit, "I'll try, but it's really an instinct, when I see someone in danger I can't stop myself from running to save them, I do it without thinking at all, I know it'll worry you, but it's really a feeling I have no control over," He wasn't sure what came over him when it happened, it ultimately pays off but at the cost of an injury at worst. "Heh, guess not all th-that different to when w-we... um, yeah,"
Picking up what Izuku is hinting at… her eyes widened and her cheeks immediately turned red, quickly Ciana covered Izuku's mouth in a panic. "C-careful what you say here!" Ciana scolds him in a whisper, steam coming out of her head again just bringing that topic up.
"R-remember Jiro has incredibly good hearing! Anything you say hinting about what you meant, then we'll never be able to show our faces again…" That's the last thing Ciana needed is her finding out how lovey dovey they truly were… it wasn't just for her sake but Izukus as well, that kind of gossip she dreads ever getting out to her whole class… knowing they have to be more careful as they can't get carried away at the dorm without risking anyone overhearing them.
Plus Ciana really didn't want to get Izuku in trouble if Mr Aizawa ever found out they were fooling around… it would probably destroy his reputation and Ciana never wants to put Izuku through that, otherwise her arrival would really be a mistake…
Nodding, he removed her hand, "I-it's why I didn't say specifics, can't be too c-careful, heh," Rubbing his nape while heat crawled up his neck, he really didn't want to put that sort of burden on her shoulders. If anything like that spread around, it wouldn't just be the teachers that would scold them. Leaning over after a quick scan of their surroundings, he pecked her cheek. "Sorry,"
Ciana sighed in relief, smiling now and turning pink from the quick peck. She should have known Izuku was smart enough not to mention that with Jiro around. "Don't worry about it, just you can never be too careful like you said…'' she replies while bashfully playing with her hair while looking down. "A-anyways… I wonder what the internship will be like tomorrow? You looking forward to working with any other hero's besides All Mignt?"
She now asks as her gaze lifts back to eye her handsome hero.
"I guess any hero really," He replied, crossing his legs while he thought of the idea of working with those in the top ten. "Depending on how many want to take internships, we could have many or very little, I can imagine Kacchan and Todoroki will have the most, by far,"
"Sounds really cool though, I'm a bit nervous about who I will meet… I admit I'm a bit worried about running into Endeavor again…" Ciana holds her face up with her hand as her gaze goes out to the ocean. "I mean I'm not scared he will do something to me, but I have a feeling he will mock me about my loss with Yuuki…"
"Not to sound insulting, but I think you're the last person he wants to see again," Izuku reassured her, gulping at the idea of them being at each other's throats again. The sight still shocked him to his core. "Even if seeing you argue with him is pretty cool,"
Ciana couldn't help but laugh a bit hearing him say that last line, looking back at him with a playful smile. "Seriously? You were pretty terrified when I told you I told the hothead off before." It's funny to hear Izuku would think that's cool when he seemed scared the guy would destroy her.
"Of course I was, his quirk alone is powerful but so is his status, but..." He paused for a bit, a playful smile curling at his lips. "Seeing how easily one person can deconstruct his image with words alone is admittivity badass,"
"I never thought you would be the type to even say that kind of thing…" Ciana replied as she began to giggle again. "I was worried Todoroki would blow up at me when I told him what I said to his dad, it was hard to tell what his expression was since his back was turned but I think he was also in shock." After that Ciana noticed Shoto eased up on her, thinking he actually was grateful that she did that for him.
"You're not the only one who did..." Izuku replied. "Just before my match with him, I ran into Endeavor, I didn't lay into him like you did but I told him Todoroki wasn't like him, and that I'm not All Might - I also think your constant attempts to speak with Todoroki as well as my battle with him really helped him see things better, today's proof of that,"
Ciana was surprised to hear he also talked to Endeavor, but she actually looked proud he also did that for Todoroki. "I could tell, Shoto has become more open now and he even thanked me when I ran into him on the train." She smiled more remembering her talk with him on the train. "He seems a bit more happier now especially since he's here with us, I'm really glad we managed to help Todoroki stay true to himself."
"All he needed was that push... at the expense of having a thermal blast go off in my face," He laughed nervously. Izuku still felt like his eyebrows were burnt off.
"Yeah… do that again and I'll punch you myself…" she glared at him a little playfully and raised her brow at him, basically saying don't worry her again or he will get more than a scolding from the nurse. "Speaking of heroics, when did you learn to perform CPR Izuku?" Now bringing up her rescue when he kissed her in the water… blushing just recalling that. "I-I admit I was surprised you know how to do that."
"C-Considering I'd have no idea how to limit my quirk, I thought to look up a whole bunch of things to do with medical in the field, the belt I wear on my hero costume is fitted with gauze, bandages, plasters, rubbing alcohol, stuff like that, and also how to make a splint, deal with swelling or muscle strain, and of course, CPR both compressions and in the event of being underwater," Then he blushed a bit. "I had a lot of time on my hands."
That made sense since Izuku really aims to be a hero and wants to be there for someone whenever he can, Ciana had a look of admiration towards her hero just from hearing this. "That's amazing… you really proved your worth just saving me twice like that." She giggled, Izuku truly is incredible. "You actually would make a great lifeguard if you wanted to be, your knowledge of performing heroics is just so impressive."
Ciana blushes a bit more and her heart flutters just seeing how cool Izuku is when wanting to save anyone from danger.
"I-if anyone could be a lifeguard, that goes to Tsu, s-she's the one who's adept in water," Izuku answered bashfully. "B-but thank you," Even if only a hobby, he was glad his notebooks paid off in the long run.
"Yo, howya holding up, Finley?" From around the fabric wall, Kirishima waved to them. "Jiro and Uraraka told us you got caught in some coral and cut your foot, but then Midoriya here saved you - nice work, man," He raised a thumb to the greenette.
"Anyone would've, I-I'm just glad Ciana's okay now," He smiled back.
Ciana perked up more when she saw her friend approached, smiling and waving at the shark boy she nicknamed due to his teeth and fierce looking quirk. "Hey Kirishima! Yeah I got myself in a pretty scary situation but I'm doing fine, I'll have to watch out for the coral next time…" she was still embarrassed over that, rubbing her neck. "How'd Bakugo and Todoroki do with their game by the way? Was there a winner?" She now asked about the two rivals, curious who won.
"Ah, that, well, turns out Bakugo didn't take winning that well since Todoroki was completely new to the game, so we won but Bakugo didn't even gloat, which is strange," Kirishima shrugged. "Any ideas, Midoriya?"
"It's like going up against a new player in a game, sure, Kacchan won but only because his skills far surpassed that of someone new," Izuku offered his piece, knowing the explosive blonde long enough to understand how winning worked for him.
"Right, that's what I thought!" He chuckled anxiously before waving forward. "Say, we're all gonna go grab a bite, you want anything or can you walk alright?"
"I wonder if it will ever end for those two…" she asks herself with a sheepish smile, knowing Bakugo won't let it go unless there's a fair win. "I think I can move now, I'm not going to let an injured leg stop me from moving." Ciana tried to take a stand, she winced but so far standing okay.
"Yep… all good, rather not sit around anyways. Did you guys bring anything or are we eating somewhere?" Ciana has noticed some food booths were set up, though now glanced over at Mineta who is tied up in a distance as she was concerned if the guy was starving by now. "Is Mineta doing alright being tied still…?"
"Kaminari said he'll go untie him but the girls said if he tried anything again they'd put him back up, but seriously, it's really on him at that point," The redhead sighed before smiling again. "But yeah, we're just gonna grab food from the setups around and head back here, so feel free to come along,"
"Sure, we'll be right behind you," Izuku replied, pulling Ciana's arm over his shoulders without a second to think it over. "But you should still keep from putting your full weight on your foot, so take small steps, okay?" His sweet smile practically glowed like the sky.
That kind of smile he always gives always gets her heart going… smiling as well with her cheeks still pink at the sight. "Alright if you say so, but if Minetas is free then I like to have my purse with me in case he tries anything…" Right now Ciana was powerless with her leg injured so she wanted to keep her pepper spray around.
"You know, you're really attractive when you act so protective…" She couldn't help but tease as she giggled after saying that, Izuku is just alluring in so many ways he probably wouldn't believe.
Thankfully, Kirishima was several steps away so he didn't hear nor see Izuku's face light up as he squeezed his arm around her bare waist. "L-like you're one to talk, when you are energetic and happy I c-can't really take my eyes off you," He admitted.
Ciana didn't expect that comeback, her cheeks heat up more just from hearing what he said. Which brought her smile on happily as his words made her heart flutter. "I can say the same for you whenever I see you smile…" she whispered out, smiling even wider happily just being close to Izuku again like this.
She made it much harder for Izuku not to just outright kiss her in public without a care for the others finding out, but he reluctantly swallowed that for later and kept Ciana straight. "We're so hopeless at keeping this on the downlow," Came his humorously reply, "Let's go grab something to eat before all the lines get too busy,"
"You can say that again…" she giggled, her grip on him tightened. "Right, let's get ourselves replenished." Ciana was a bit hungry now after the exercise she's been doing, wondering what they will even serve. "So what did you think of the comic I lent you by the way?" She asked as they started moving along the way.
"It was great! To be able to read something over two hundred years old, not to mention the hero is more like a vigilante but quirkless, instead, he incorporates nearly every martial art in the world!" Izuku was utterly blown away by both the ancient comic and the story itself, "I even looked them up and to have one like yours in such good condition is priceless! So, the chances of reading more is slim to none, but again, thank you for letting me read it!"
Ciana chuckled listening to how wowed he was reading the story, she loved Izuku's fanboy side. Izuku is just so cute when he gets excited about anything that has to do with hero's, Ciana had a feeling he would like it since the hero is quirkless. "If you like it that much then you can have it if you want." Ciana surprisingly offers with a smile. "I thought you like it and hoped it would make you feel better knowing people without powers can be heroes."
"I can't! I mean, I really appreciate the offer, but, it's yours to begin with," He waved his free hand quickly in protest.
Ciana waved it off, not really caring about keeping it. "I don't mind, besides I've been enjoying the manga that you recommended. If I ever go home then I can always get myself another of that comic if I wanted, I already read it like a million times anyways."
How did Izuku get so lucky to have met someone like Ciana? He pinched the bridge of his nose, looking up at the sky briefly in deep contemplation. "I really don't deserve you..." Lowering his head back down, he offered a warm grin. "Thank you, Ciana, I'll keep it safe,"
She nodded and smiled lovingly towards her hero. "I know you will, also you're more deserving than you think… I'm the one that doesn't deserve someone who's so kind, cool and heroic like you." She replied softly, her head leaning on his shoulder a bit. If anyone asks then she can just say she's resting her head.
"Guess we're stuck together then," Izuku sighed happily, holding onto her tightly not only to help her walk but to simply enjoy being close to her like always.
"-you dare put Jazz on and I'm frying your brain," Jiro warned Kaminari as he flicked through his phone for music while everyone ate.
They had gathered again to sit and eat, sharing drinks from the cooler while sat in their small groups under the shade, some sat atop the walkway leading to the gazebo. A few chuckled at the purplette's warning as Kaminari made a face.
"Right-right, geez, Jiro, loosen up a bit," But he flinched as a jack was pointed straight at his nose.
"Joke or not, that crap isn't going on," Then she relaxed, chewing her burger for a moment. "Try something upbeat, something that just makes it feel like a day at the beach, y'know?"
Seeing their friends now in view, Ciana smiled and waved towards them to greet them. "Hey guys! Did we miss anything? Looked like you were getting on Jiros nerves, Kaminari…" Ciana noticed as she approached, eyeing the lightning blond with a playful smile. "You weren't doing something perverted again were you?" Knowing how he's similar to Mineta, Ciana speculated about that possibility.
"He'd be screwed if he was," Jiro replied nonchalantly. "Instead, he thought it'd be a funny idea to try and put the most hated genre I know of on,"
"Just a joke, and h-hey, I haven't done anything like that! The thing at the Sports Festival was Mineta's idea," Kaminari deflected.
"Don't try and deny it, you enjoyed it too!" Mineta yelled back, pointing a finger at him. "You agreed with me and everything,"
"Probably best to just apologize and admit defeat, dude, may not sound manly but it'll save ya," Kirishima noted.
"Look on the plus side, we got to have fun so while it was totally a dirty trick I thought it was kinda funny," Hagakure giggled from her spot.
"Don't encourage them," Yaoyorozu sighed in dismay. "And can we please stop bringing this up?"
"I second that," Jiro raised her hand while Kaminari put on some standard radio music fitting for the beach environment and warm weather while Ciana and Izuku sat down with the musician who leaned back against the wall, handing Izuku a soda. "Here,"
"Thanks, Jiro," He nodded, quickly opening it to sip with a sigh.
Ciana giggled at the funny display as she now sat down with all her friends. "I admit I was pretty surprised to do a cheerleader routine, you usually have to pass the skills to get on a team like that where I'm from. But in a funny way it was a cool idea to represent the school, but I'll still be on to you two next time something like that happens…" she eyed the boys with a playful glare.
"Plus, you guys looked pretty good in those uniforms yourself…" Ciana chuckled, still remembering the funny prank they put them in for messing with the gals.
The pair went red in the face as the group laughed at their expense after the lovely photoshoot that caught them by surprise, as well as the boys. Suffice to say, neither wanted to push the girls' buttons too much, especially the cute, innocent, yet deadly otherworlder among them. The rest of their time was well spent chatting and eating under the shade of parasols, enjoying the ambience together while they still can.
"Say, Midoriya, have you heard anything from Iida?" Tsu broke the question, staring at the fellow green haired teen.
Izuku stopped drinking, tapping his finger in a nervous habit to the tin, giving it some thought. "No... he's been keeping quiet this whole time, the news report said the accident was kept underwraps about his injuries, but... I am worried for both of them," Wanting to know more, Izuku was simply forced to wait like the rest until school tomorrow for answers about their Class Rep.
"That Hero Killer guy really gives me the creeps," Jiro shivered, waving her can idly in her hand. "Sorta like that Meru Zena guy with how he comes and goes without warning,"
"I was surprised Iida left during the festival… Whatever happened, I hope he and his family are alright…" Ciana was a bit worried wondering if it was Meru Zena that targeted Iidas family, she never forgive herself if she has some sort of involvement, fiddling with her drink in hand.
"I kinda expected that villain would come by and try to kidnap me again after his last attempt… can't help but wonder though what he's up to now… and where he could be watching me…" Ciana shivers at the idea, knowing he still haunts her dreams sometimes… when he mentioned All For One had her pretty curious what he meant especially when All Might stiffened up at the mention of the name, Ciana was still curious if it was a power or a person…
"We shouldn't dwell on the things we can't answer yet," Shoto spoke up as he sat in the sun, staring down at his phone then to the rest in a calm manner as frost left his fingertips to cool his drink further. "The likes of Stain and Zena constantly plaguing our minds will only create unnecessary stress,"
Now her attention on Shoto as she processed his wise words, once again the class prince was right. "Right as always your majesty…" Ciana ended up teasing with her smile perked up. "At least we're here all together enjoying the weather and having fun before we hit our classes again tomorrow, you guys looking forward to seeing any other heroes during the internship?" She asks her friends, including Shoto.
"I'm hoping to be scouted by a hero that'll let me put my hardening to the test!" Kirishima grinned, reinforcing his fist.
"One of the top ten, the rest don't matter to me," Katsuki muttered next to him as he drank.
"If I work with someone that'll let me utilize my hearing fully that'll be cool," Jiro admitted, twirling a jack around her finger.
"'Majesty'?" Shoto thought to himself, unable to see what brought that response from Ciana.
"One who's a total hottie," Mineta smiled to himself.
The others all had similar replies. Some wanted the added experience of fieldwork while others hoped to improve or utilize their quirks to their fullest. This opportunity came three times in their lives at UA, and some may be brought on as work studies or even side-kicks when they graduate. It was like everyday work experience that Ciana knew of only for heroics, as surreal as that was to think about being considered 'normal'.
"Well whoever I work with I hope will help me improve my self defense, so far I learned some pretty useful skills from Bakugo, but I hoped I can improve more so I won't have to always rely on my quirk. But also learn other ways I can use it wisely." She gives her own option while munching on a hotdog.
"Izuku has helped me discover new ways I can use my quirk, though after hearing what Shinso said, people viewed me as a battery… I hope I can do more besides being viewed like one…" Ciana knew Shinso didn't actually mean what he said since he was just getting Izuku mad, maybe he did think that at first… but if other people saw her that way then Ciana hoped to do more for herself.
"Well, you can be assured no one here thinks that way of you," Yaoyorozu assured their classmate with a smile.
"Yeah! You're totally the buff/healer of our class, you're plenty strong to boot, I sure know, haha!" Ashido knuckled Ciana's shoulder from behind. "So don't worry too much about it!"
"You're always so nice too which is a big plus in my book," Uraraka pumped her fist confidently.
"They're right," Her eyes fell to her partner who rubbed the gold necklace by his chest for good luck. "Focus on what you can do for now, and improve on it,"
Ciana felt very warm hearing her friend's praises again, especially noticing that Izuku still kept hold of the locket she made for him… which added to that, she smiled brighter hearing everyone's comments around her. "Thanks guys! Hearing that really means a lot, as long as I'm here I'll try and work harder to be like all of you."
She had a lot of admiration towards her friends as well, hoping she can live up to their heroic hearts. "I mean I'm not much of a healer as I mostly boost stamina… I don't get how to work the whole healing process yet, but like Recovery Girl when I do heal, I just lose my own stamina unlike her healing methods…"
"Overcome it then," All eyes and ears turned to the ash blonde that raised his head a bit to glare back at her. "Find a way to harness your whole quirk that even that damn lizard can't compete with,"
"Think he means Meru Zena," Kirishima translated.
"Of course that's who I'm talking about!" Katsuki roared angrily.
"Yeah... that was totally undescriptive," Sero deadpanned.
"Who asked you, Tape Arms!?"
Hearing Bakugos support made her feel more happy as always, even giggling at his usual angry rant, he comes up with the funniest nicknames for people. She could tell she wasn't the only one but usually keeps her nicknames to herself. "He's right though." Now balancing both her arms behind her as she sits back.
"So far step by step I'm learning new ways I can use it, but I'm a little afraid I'll look like a beast too if I overcome it fully…" Ciana hasn't taken the parts of a beast yet which is good, but the possibility is still scary.
"That's what I've been wondering about..." The studious fanboy muttered. "If you and Zena share the same quirk, you have to have passed a threshold by now, even for minor changes, and yet, when they do occur, you revert back to normal. Example; during your fight with Yuuki, you condensed your aura into solid armour around parts of your body, looking closer at a recording, it looked just like scales," Izuku revealed to them.
"Woah, so you can create armour from light, that's so cool!" Kaminari beamed but Izuku nodded his head.
"I agree, but that leads me to believe there's something that truly separates you and Zena, why does he appear like a dragon constantly while you can shed those traits by simply dispelling your quirk?" The greenette pressed.
"You're saying that Finley's figured out a loophole Meru Zena hasn't, Midoriya?" Yaoyorozu inquired.
"Exactly, so while I understand you're afraid of becoming a monster, I don't believe it'll lead to that extreme, issue is, I have no idea what the correlation is," From that point on, Izuku was left to speculate.
"Well, it's something at least," Jiro reminded them, hearing Ciana's heart rate climb back down.
Hearing Izuku's analysis of herself is impressive as always, if anyone can figure something out it's clearly him. "Right, I recall Ms Midnight even said that my positive emotion is probably what prevents me from looking like a beast, though… if that's true…" her hand now going to her chin as she tried to think over that theory.
"Would that mean… if I had any negative hateful emotions… I could turn beastly…?" It would probably make sense since Meru is a sinister villain and clearly she's not.
"Positive and negative emotions... that could be it," Izuku mirrored her posture, much to their friends' amusement. "So by consistently projecting high quantities of positive emotions when using your quirk, as well as what you allow yourself to absorb can actively boost you without being changed indefinitely,"
"Figures a villain would only ever use negative too," Kirishima tisked.
"The darkness in his heart corrupted him, now, he has become a visage of that negativity," Tokoyami summed up poetically.
"Alright, stop going on about all this drama and quirks!" Mineta yelled in dismay. "I thought we came here to have fun for a change? Leave all that stuff for school tomorrow!"
Nice to hear the guy focusing on their day off rather than his pervy fantasies, bringing a cheery smile toward him. "He's right, I like hearing your positive outcome, Mineta. You can be quite admirable when you're not focused on your strange fantasies." Ciana ended up complimenting the short boy with her compassionate smile.
"They had be strung up for three hours, of course I am!" He argued, breaking out in a cold sweat when those responsible smirked at him.
"You just had to make a verbal comment..." Kaminari pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Then let's get back to it!" Ashido exclaimed, raising her can high as several others followed.
"YEAH!"
Ciana was glad to see the little guy was disciplined… happy he can join them as a group and not scheme something dirty, hoping he stays like that for the whole trip.
