What Ciana nor Yuuki expected was to be loaded into the back of Edgeshot's car as he drove them through Tokyo. He had said to wear either their own casual clothes or gym gear if they wished as their initial arrival would be spent learning about Total Concentration Constant, or TCC for short. He was apparently driving to the rural area to the outskirts of the city, providing them time to simply relax before all hell broke loose.

Ciana certainly didn't expect this, but it does give her the opportunity to relax and look out the windows as the pro ninja drove. Taking in more of the sights of japan. "Japan is definitely very unique compared to my country, where are we going anyways?" She asks as her eyes still scanned out the window of everything they drive by, having her gym bag next to her.

"While I have learned the art of total concentration, the place where I was taught would be more suitable in my opinion," Edgeshot replied simply. "We will be arriving at the Rengoku residence soon, there, you will both begin your training, then for the rest of the week you shall join me on patrols in several wards, beginning with Hosu,"

"...the last known location of the Hero Killer," Yuuki pipped up as the ninja nodded with a grim stare ahead.

"Indeed, but he is not our objective, Hosu just so happens to have a much more frequent spring of crime," Edgeshot answered her.

"I heard about that villain…" expression change to look worried, especially how Iida reacted to what happened to his family because of him. "I wonder if he was one of the league of villains, or… somebody else…?" Remembering All For One, now Ciana wondered if he is the possible hero killer hearing how evil this guy is.

"The Hero Killer, Stain, is elusive, from what we know, he works alone, and has a habit of targeting 'unworthy heroes', what that means is anyone's guess," Edgeshot sighed.

"His bloodlust aside, I don't disagree with his ideology," Yuuki added, staring out her window. "If by 'unworthy' then he may be eluding to those that care more for personal gain over saving lives for the sake of it,"

"You are not fond of heroes that see only profit then? A mature mindset," Edgeshot offered. "Although, monetary value does help agencies like mine care for those employed with me, I will admit I do wish newer Pros would see the value in saving lives over fame, alas, this is the world we live in..." He shook his head but didn't let it weigh on his mind. "And what of your views, Finley? What makes you strive to become a hero?"

"That doesn't give him the right to kill people if he deems them unworthy though!" Ciana thought those views were ridiculous, this guy really sounds evil to do something like that for that kind of reason. Her arms crossed, but perked up her attention to the hero when he asked her of her goals.

"Hm? Oh, well I want to be a hero that stands up for others and encourage people to do the same and not show any fear." Remembering the incident with her mother still is what drove her to want to aim for that. "People out there always get shaken up when they get into a terrifying situation that makes them do nothing out of fear… which is why I want to help them to not let it get the best of them."

"So, one of you strives to be a hero who seeks no personal gain, and the other to abolish fear in others," The ninja nodded, eyes serious gaze softening. "You both have good hearts,"

"I... suppose," Yuuki nodded shyly.

Ciana smiled from the pro ninjas praise, happy he views her goals as a good intention. "It's not easy but I hope I'll be able to accomplish that, which is why I want to get stronger to be able to handle myself more."

"Then you needn't wait much longer," Edgeshot announced. "We will be there shortly,"

[Transition]

After another ten minutes of constant driving, the skyscrapers were gone, replaced with a more rural setting when Edgeshot pulled into a drive of a large traditional house with a cream wall separating it from the rest of the streets. Inside, the garden was tended to by gardeners with a stone path leading to the building where a young girl, probably only a year or two older than Ciana, stood by the porch, leaning against one of the wood beams with a smile and wave.

"Hello again, Mr Kamihara, it's nice to see you," She called over. She wore a pearl white kimono with a black sash and flame pattern along the hem. She had large dark red eyes with circular white pupils, with semi-long black hair. "I see you've brought your new pupils too, nice to meet you, I'm Shira Rengoku," She gave a polite bow.

Ciana smiled at the new face and made sure to do the same to be more polite back. "Pleasure to meet you! I'm Ciana Finley." The new location looked very cool and pretty, she guessed this place is one of those shrines Izuku mentioned. Gazing around her surroundings still.

"You have a very lovely home… is this a shrine?" Ciana heard shrines are like churches and have their own religious beliefs that are more different.

"The park at the back of our home is publicly available, but the shrine itself is owned by us, so we tend to it - but you're more than welcome to see it when you're done for the day," Shira explained as Edgeshot approached the students then gave a bow to the young girl.

"A pleasure to see you again, is your mother inside?" He asked curiously.

"Yeah, though most duties fall to me now for the time being," Shira smiled brightly as she pushed the entrance aside for them. "She's close to term and dad's busy too so I handle the heavy lifting with our staff, so I'm kept busy,"

"So this is the one of the two remaining families of the breathing technique..." Yuuki murmured to herself, admiring the building's décor when she spotted some old tapestries and paintings from a long time ago.

"Cool… very traditional here, definitely looks passed down for many generations." She comments as well while looking at the sights. "Almost reminds me of a King Arthur vibe expect I'm not in England…" Ciana muttered to herself with a chuckle.

"Hard to believe we're here seeing all this and about to learn more about the technique, it's quite an honor." Ciana was still so taken back she is worthy enough to see this kind of thing, especially since she's always been just a regular girl.

"Shira here will be your instructor as I have duties to attend to while you both train," Edgeshot added as the girl nodded, opening another door that opened up into a dining room with the doors to a porch facing the back of the house.

"That's right, my dad's taught me since my brother isn't born yet, usually, the guys in the family would learn total concentration to perform a ceremonial dance but it's been centuries so a few traditions are worth bending to preserve its history," Shira shrugged, motioning to the back garden. "Out here is where you'll train,"

The garden was very similar to Edgeshot's training grounds, a flat dirt expand with the same white walls surrounding the area with flowers and other plant life brightening up the circumference of the garden. A thick red archway with matching gates were closed but seemed to lead into the forest park mentioned before.

"And how do we learn the further this breathing style?" Yuuki inquired, scanning their surroundings.

"Very simple, actually," Shira spun around with a finger held up. "Only three core instructions, if you follow them to the letter, and given your work ethic as hero course students - really cool by the way - then in roughly a month or more, you'll have total concentration constant under your belts," She put her fists to her hips proudly.

"Well nothing starts out easy… but the setting is so peaceful to train in!" Ciana recalled seeing places like these in the movies, looking very excited already about this training they will do. Ciana wondered if she will even be able to master it eventually. "So, what's the first thing we should do?"

Ciana guessed it might have to do with holding their breath again… which she dreads secretly.

"I shall leave you both to your training, I will return by six, good luck to you both," Edgeshot gave a bow and slipped away like mist, startling them both.

"That... is really unnerving sometimes," Yuuki blinked several times from the light breeze they pulled with the hero.

"Mr Kamihara does that a lot, think it's just a ninja thing," Shira giggled to herself.

"That's what I said." She giggled, Ciana guessed he takes great pleasure being all sneaky and mysterious. "He sure is cool though, though this makes me wonder if he will secretly spy on us in a distance like most ninjas like to do…"

"I wouldn't worry, Mr Kamihara is a really nice guy, he even trained here when I was still really young, so he's a bit like family," Shira assured the fellow ravenette. "Now, in tune with your enthusiasm earlier, the method to unlocking Total Concentration Constant, or TCC, starts with understanding this first; TCC means you are using this technique all the time, even when you're sleeping, which is the tricky part but that comes with practice,"

While Shira spoke, she went to a storehouse to the left of the dining room doors, pulling out what appeared to be two hard-shelled gourds with red string tied around their necks. "While it sounds challenging, the method is really elementary, maintaining a good exercise routine, and these gourds," She handed one to each of them, holding a third herself.

"We... require these gourds?" Yuuki was already alarmed by the fact they had to maintain the breathing technique even as they sleep, but what did empty water containers have to do with this?

Ciana was confused herself, especially the sleeping thing they have to do… which sounds complicated. "Um… already I don't get it…" she ends up admitting with a confused expression, still not familiar with Japanese customs. "What exactly do we do with them?" Ciana asks with a curious and confused manner as she tilts her head staring at the items.

"Simple; blow into the gourds until the burst," Shira explained then held hers up. "Like this," She placed her lips on the entrance then exhaled sharply, causing the bottom half to completely explode into fragments at their feet. Worst of all? She barely seemed phased by that. "See, with every gourd ruptured, you move up to a bigger one, progressively strengthening your lungs, but yeah, maintaining the breathing style all day and night, exercise, and blowing up gourds with your breathing, that's it,"

Both girls were paling as they stared blankly at the young Rengoku. "...I am without words," Yuuki gulped slightly, her bow creased at her bewilderment.

"Same here…" Ciana was pretty wide eye what this girl just did, they have to do that?! That looked inhumanly impossible for her! Ciana didn't think she have the capabilities to do this, even if she could it might take years… "So… we just blow on these until they break…? Sounds… complicated…"

"Hahaha, I made that face too!" Shira laughed rather loudly, but insisted on smiling. "Go on, using total concentration, blow into the gourds as hard as possible before taking a breath again, if I'm correct... you should both be surprised,"

Considering they were here, the two girls didn't fight and simply gave it a shot. Taking deep breaths, together, they blew into gourds as hard as possible, not releasing as their faces started to go a little red with time. Yuuki managed to last a little longer than Ciana, but neither could manage it, gasping for breath. Once relaxed, they tired again much harder than before, and again, their faces were turning red-

Two sharp bursts resounded, and shards of the gourds flew across the porch and dirt garden ahead as both panted heavily, holding the half shattered remains of their gourds. Shira just smirked to herself, crossing her arms. "Knew they could do it; being hero course students, they already had the physical side of things handled, and both had significant time training with total concentration, all they needed was a little push," She thought to herself.

Ciana couldn't believe she actually did it… she thought it take her months to pull it off, her hands on her knees as she tried to catch her breath. But that was pretty cool she had to admit. "T-that… w-was I-intense!" Ciana panted as she said this. "I-I don't think I'll ever get used to this…" she sweat-dropped and smiled sheepishly, already Ciana was exhausted and hoped she doesn't pass out.

"A-agreed," Yuuki took a deep breath to stand up straight.

"Excellent work! Now onto the next one up," In seconds, Shira returned with a pair of matching gourds slightly bigger than the previous ones, this time the length of a forearm. "Of course, feel free to exercise too while maintaining total concentration throughout, so right now, you both stopped using it, but from this point on, I want you both to continuously use it for as long as possible,"

They had to repeat the method again with a bigger one now?! Ciana knew this wasn't going to be easy… but let out a dramatic sigh, wondering if Izuku is doing something similar to this. "Were just getting started and already I'm worked up and lightheaded…" Ciana at least doesn't protest, glad she brought her water bottle with her. She felt she's going to need to be hydrated as much as she can…

For the next two hours, the hero course students were put through intensive training with such simply instructions. Either training their bodies by running a circuit around the garden, your basic muscle workouts, or swinging heavy wooden bamboo swords provided by Shira. The other half was spent trying to shatter gourds, unfortunately, they could only manage the second one given to them, the third proved to be a hurdle that left them on their backs, gasping.

Thankfully, relief came in the form of lunch prepped by the cook of the house, giving them much needed relief, although they still had to maintain TC which was a difficult learning curve for them both, even for Yuuki who had much more experience than Ciana, yet she found herself unable to progress any faster than the ravenette.

"Eat up, while you cannot relax your breathing, this meal will certainly replenish your strength," Shira offered, digging into her own meal under the shade.

"T-thank you miss…" Ciana was still panting a few times, wiping any left over sweat off her forehead before she begun to eat. Of course she had to use chopsticks again… which still is a challenge for her. "I'm really surprised all that breathing didn't cause me to faint yet… I mean at this rate I feel like I could breath fire soon." She jokes with a chuckle, especially knowing she's part dragon now… which Ciana still didn't take any pleasuring in knowing.

"Close, though the technique the Rengoku family used was called Flame Breathing," Shira replied, chuckling at their reactions. "Not in the form of actual flames, rather, it was how Flame Breathing users visualized their unique style of swordsmanship in combat; another example would be the Kamado family we're closely tied to, two of their ancestors were a Sun Breathing and Flower Breathing users, although if what I heard is correct, the Sun user originally learned Water Breathing, so the more you know, right?"

"I see, so there are several fighting styles that incorporate the breathing technique?" Yuuki wondered, it was something her master had no knowledge of, and it was clearly ancient, predating quirks.

"Exactly, five core elements that branched from Sun Breathing, the original, with sub styles webbed from the five," Shira explained as simply as possible. "Of course, the Kamado family are the reason we hold any history of this at all, aside from my own family, even then, there's only so much we know,"

"Whoa, that's amazing…" Ciana awed with wide eyes, wondering if she will be able to do any of that? Though imagining herself doing anything like that was strange. "Does that mean Yuuki and I will do anything similar of those elements?" She asks in wonder while taking a sip of her tea and eyeing their teacher.

"Unfortunately, these techniques go back to the Taishō Period, roughly 1912 to 1926, and the only techniques left in recorded history are the Water, Flame, and Sun breathing techniques, even then, our families have adopted them into traditional dances sacred to our families so learning one would be impossible less you were given the blessing of the head of either the Rengoku or Kamado families," Shira frowned a bit at this, but smiled sadly. "If you are to believe our family history, these fighting styles were meant for a single purpose; to slay demons,"

"I see…" Ciana wasn't disappointed as she didn't expect to do anything too special, but was surprised to hear about the whole slaying demon things. "Wait, a-are you saying demons exist here…?" Some people she witnessed did look demonic but Ciana didn't think monsters like that also existed… which sounded scary.

"Haha, not since that period in history, of course, that's folklore at best by the rest of the world, but... one moment," She left them for about a minute before returning to the porch which a picture frame. "This is a copy of the original the Kamado family have, and while it's not proof, I know my ancestors fought demons, these were their friends from the Demon Slayer Corps."

Yuuki and Ciana leaned forward to marvel at the picture of a large group of people. There were many colorful faces, the most notable were the two, possibly a son and father, with bright orange and red hair. A guy with an eyepatch decorated with shiny rocks, some strange people in expressive masks, and the trio at the center. A boy with a birthmark shaped like a flame over his brow, one with electric blonde hair with orange highlights, and a shirtless young man with a boar head mask.

"The one with the black and red hair is the ancestor of the Kamado family, alongside his sister; as for mine, they're the two men with the orange and red hair, a strange trait only the males in the Rengoku family possess so I got to skip the crazy hair day, hehe," Shira giggled, looking at the memento fondly. "The breathing technique is the only real proof we have of their legacy, to it's why I'm grateful you two are learning it, so that it may live on, as well as its history,"

"They really sounded like amazing warriors." Ciana was wowed by the story they are being told, she always thought those were just fictional stuff but hearing monsters like that existed in the old days including warriors is just so fascinating. "Even if demons aren't around anymore there's still people with superhuman abilities to deal with… I remember one of the guys from the league of villains who had dark like abilities made him look like a scary ghost."

Sure was scary back then, Ciana still remembered how shaken up everyone bit when they revealed themselves, including Izuku… the memory had her frown and worry a little how worse their attacks could be next time.

Knowing they will have to get back to training Ciana already dreaded a bit, but at least she's working her way to get stronger. "If we must… I just hope I'll still be able to stand through all this." She chuckled after saying that, then continued to eat up to replenish herself. Chopsticks are also still a pain for her…

[Transition]

When Edgeshot arrived, he came to see roughly what he expected as the sun hung low in the sky. "I see that training went according to plan?" He asked Shira who was reading a book in one hand, she smile perked up.

"They've shown more progress than I expected, they've broken the first three gourd stages, and only had four breaks in breathing, other than that, I say they are more than capable of handling their training from here, though, I've sent the delivery of gourds both to your agency and UA so they may continue their lessons," She smiled as both looked to the teens.

"I think... my lungs... are tearing..." Yuuki wasn't much for dramatics, but this training made her master's bearable. Her body felt sticky and sore, especially in her chest as she stared up at the sky, still doing her best to maintain her breathing, which had gotten much easier, she could see the same was for Ciana before they eventually collapsed.

Ciana was on her back while panting next to Yuuki with her arms spread out, she didn't think she could walk. "T-this is almost as intense as Mr. Yagi's training… N-now I know how Izuku was feeling…" she comments through pants, sweating like crazy. Great… she's going to need another shower when she gets back, sipping her water bottle Ciana had in hand.

"W-was your training ever anything like this Yuuki?" She asks her cat friend as her head turned to eye the tired girl.

"I... would rather... do that... then this," Yuuki grimaced, having pulled her mask down to breathe easier. She even sat up to undo her bow, rubbing her cat ears. "Ugh, they get so sweaty too... but yes... my master's training is... difficult," She tensed up a bit but relaxed just as quickly.

"Best we take them to your car then," Shira patted her hips, then, hoisted Ciana over her shoulder with ease as the girl yelped in surprise. "Up you go,"

"Apologizes, Yuuki," Edgeshot sounded almost amused by this as he did the same for Yuuki, but the silverette was far too tired to protest as the pair were taken to the car waiting for them.

Ciana sure wasn't expecting the sudden carry over the girls shoulder, this was kinda humiliating but too tired to protest. She couldn't help but chuckle a little as this kinda reminded her what her mom would do. "T-thanks… I think." She giggled again, so glad non of her friends are seeing her like this… Ciana wondered again how Izuku was doing, but eyed Shira as she was still over her shoulder.

"Well thank you for the lessons… I assume we will see each other again soon, it's a pleasure to have met you." Ciana bid farewell with her bright but tired smile.

"It was my pleasure, as I said, teaching others TCC is like ensuring the history is preserved, even if only the technique," Once close to the car, Shira set Ciana down on her wobbly legs. "This training is not easy but I have full confidence you'll master it with time; as for your quirk, I find it admirable that despite that advantage you're willing to learn this skill, I have no doubt whatever you choose to do, be it to use both at once or focus only on total concentration, you will become much stronger, both of you,"

"I thank you, Miss Rengoku," Yuuki bowed her head respectfully after she was set down to wrap up her ears again. "Both for the lesson and the history behind this sacred ability,"

"Anytime," She nodded with a sweet smile. "I'll leave them in your hands, Mr Kamihara."

Despite making it back to Edgeshot's agency, neither girl could rest, controlling their breathing the whole time despite their tired bodies, yet, it helped them move even in an exhausted state, so that was one benefit to using it, their recovery time was much faster. Edgeshot let them return to their room until tomorrow when they would train and then patrol at night in Hosu. Once back in their room, it came down to one important choice.

"You may use the shower first, I can wait," Yuuki spoke as they entered, looking through her things as she threw off her bow and mask, even freeing her pinkish-white tail, not even the slightest bit bothered by their appearance due to her fatigue.

"T-thanks! I-I'll try not to be long." She smiled thankfully toward Yuuki, grabbing her T-shirt and sweatpants before heading in to wash up… they had a bathtub which was nice, deciding to use that as she stripped her clothes and then steps into the tub. Turning on the warm water as Ciana now laid in blizz and sighed in total relaxation. "Ah… this is just what I needed… no doubt Yuuki will enjoy this too after me." She closed her eyes and smile as she said this and leaned back.

Turns out Ciana brought her phone in with her, opening her eyes back up and eyeing her phone on the ground. She picks it up as she starts typing her fingers to text Izuku.

[Ciana] Me again! You doing alright?

His reply came faster this time.

[Izuku] I'm not dead, if that counts? What about you?

She smiled at this, guessing that Izuku finally had time to relax. At least she hoped so.

[Ciana] Same… just got back from training, I'm so worn out and sore… which is why I'm taking a bath right now to ease my poor tired muscles, how was your training?

[Izuku] I think I have a new understanding as to why All Might feared Gran Torino. Other than that, I think I can move around fine at 10% now, fifteen's a strain though.

[Ciana] Glad to know! At least your not breaking any bones, I hope your not… though speaking of quirks, I been meaning to tell you something I ended up researching about dragons you should know about…

Ciana blushed embarrassingly bringing this up, glad to do it in a text as it was personal and rather not risk his teacher hearing if he's still stalking her hero…

[Izuku] Oh? What is it? Mind you, while some quirks with animal traits can parallel one another, it isn't 100%

[Izuku] But sure, tell me

Ciana gulped kinda nervously, her cheeks still red as she continued to type away.

Ciana] Sure I managed to keep it together but who knows how long that will last next time… Izuku, remember that night when… we both noticed my behavior was different? You said I grew fangs, but did my eyes look different too then…?

The text bubbles appeared for a while before a message came through.

[Izuku] Your eyes when your quirk triggers form gold stars, that time, the stars were like specks of stardust in your irises, but the shape of your pupil became slit like a dragon's, or really most hunter animals. Does this have correlation with your mood swing, I'm assuming?

[Ciana] Y-yeah… I had a feeling they looked like that then…

What she is going to say will be… probably scary, but Ciana knew it's something he needed to know just in case he didn't.

[Ciana] Okay… well what I researched about dragons is that they can be pretty intimate to another they consider their mates, and… uh… I-I think how I acted then was related to those instincts… so… I-I probably was close to doing something you might not like… figured I should tell you for next time…

Nothing came through for a while, so long that Ciana thought she did genuinely scare him to respond. To her relief, the bubbles appeared for nearly a minute, then stopped, then appeared again. Izuku was clearly choosing his words carefully this time.

[Izuku] Taking what you've said, I figured that was the case after what nearly happened. I'll be blunt, I didn't exactly... want to stop, but that's on me considering your feelings on the matter. My point is, this is something we'll have to learn to live with going forward, hormones are one thing, but this is another hurdle entirely. We'll do things are way, as slowly as we want, until we're both ready.

[Izuku] But thank you for telling me, I know you've felt frightened and confused about this, and while I can't solve every issue, I'll do my best to help you through this.

[Izuku] What're partners for, right?

Ciana guessed this news freaked him out at first, imagining his bashful expression… but reading what Izuku eventually wrote had her eyes shot up in surprise and her cheeks becoming redder, is he saying he wanted to…? Ciana wasn't sure what Izuku meant by helping her through this but at least he didn't seem spooked enough to end it…

[Ciana] I-I really appreciate that… but I don't want to scare you if I end up… being forceful on you… maybe we should take it easy around each other to avoid that for your sake?

The idea of going full animal mode was quite freaky for her, Ciana wondered if she will even be able to control herself next time…

[Izuku] That's what I mean, if you want to pull back on some of the things we do, I'm okay with that. And, trust me, you weren't forceful before, I just didn't stop you, and again, my fault then.

[Izuku] Still, you should ask Yuuki if she's had any similar issues with her instincts, even if not a direct comparison, it wouldn't hurt to ask. Or even when we're back at school, Midnight would be great to talk you through this stuff. I'm not sure how you feel when this happens so all I can really do is play it by ear.

Ciana scoffed at this message with her brow raised and a playful smile formed. "He did get soundproof tiles for his room, was he really preparing himself for that big step? It's so strange seeing how straightforward he's becoming… "I never realized how hard I made Izuku fall for me…" she chuckled, then continued to type as she kept eyeing her phone.

[Ciana] I'm not gonna ask if she ever had mating instincts if that's what you're referring to… I'm not sure what kind of instincts she would have unless you count being addicted to catnip or catching mice… she doesn't seem like the type to do that kind of stuff. Also Midnight is a great therapist and all, but… I'm not sure if I'm comfortable telling her my creepy instinct… She seems pretty into being intimate herself if you know what I mean, I feel like talking about something like that would excite her and tell me to go for it with you…

Ciana sweatdropped with a sheepish smile after typing that, knowing Midnight is really cool but the whole being attracted to her students and liking to show off her body feels like she is the type to make perverted comments and tease her about what she's going through… Her hand goes to her chin in thought for a moment before typing out her next sentence.

[Ciana] Also, I might not have been forceful back then because I'm still in the second stage of mutating into a dragon… if it evolves more than I could end up that way and be harder to stop myself… plus, maybe the way we became so intimate with each other was because my quirk acted as some kind of pheromone… I would think maybe that's what got you to feel so agreeable to do that kind of thing with me… but even if it's not you sure have some strange taste to be attracted to a girl who's part beast, unless… Did you think of my dragon personality as a chance to get me to please you more…?

Ciana was mostly joking when she typed this, giggling imagining his flustered reaction.

[Ciana] If so then you really have been hanging around Mineta and Kaminari too much… I hope you both didn't plan that together or otherwise I bite ya…

Her large reply left quite a lapse before Izuku responded, clearly, he was thinking over what she said before replying.

[Izuku] To your first point. I agree, her traits and yours would be different, and I'm not saying to ask her something that personal, rather, how to handle any form of predator instincts or mood swings that come with it, you both have the instincts of a form of predator so it wouldn't hurt to ask that.

[Izuku] Secondly, Midnight may act very suggestive, that's always been how she's acted as a hero, for better or for worse, but she is also very attentive about our mental health, you and I have seen that with the one to one talks. Of course, that's up to you, but considering this is a serious issue in your case, I'm certain she will offer genuine help.

[Izuku] Thirdly... that's hard to prove true or false, though I can give you my word I felt pretty in control all the times we have been intimate, I guess I'm just... I dunno, scared? Scared that if I make a mistake then... things between us would go south, or I'm possessive, or both? I'm really not sure... as for being into... that side of you, it's more so how bold you are, not so much the whole dragon looks; like I said before, I care more about you yourself than your quirk.

[Izuku] And I'd sooner punch myself then ever agree to their schemes... though you certainly never had any complaints biting me before, but hey, I'm not judging.

Ciana blush darkened at the last message, she guessed he was teasing too… giggling at his message.

[Ciana] I'm scared too I'll do something to scare you off, I admit I'm kinda surprised you weren't scared how I'm changing… I mean, how would you think if I suddenly forced myself on you eventually?

Her brows knitted together in concern about this.

This reply didn't take long compared to the last as Ciana pensively waited for his words, almost imagining Izuku speaking to her right now.

[Izuku] If I'm completely honest?

[Izuku] I wouldn't blame you.

[Izuku] This quirk, these feelings, thoughts, and impulses, they aren't something you can control, yet. You were never born with a quirk, you have no experience and frankly, you never asked for this to happen to you, Meru Zena did this to you. I will always accept whatever choice you make, to control your instincts and then reject using your quirk, or using it in the future. But I would never abandon you to suffer that way - you can spin whatever reasons or logic possible, I'm not leaving and I would never hate you for something beyond your control.

Ciana was once again very surprised by this, never has she ever known someone who is this loyal enough to still stay even if it's possible she's putting him in danger… Ciana smiled warmly and almost teared up.

[Ciana] are you saying even if I end up raping you then you still stay…? Cuz I really don't want to put you in that place… I don't want to put you in danger of me…

[Izuku] I thought you'd bring that up... to be clear, I'm not sure of how I would take that. It's easy to promise you but realistically, that kind of act isn't so easy to wash away. I can't honestly say how I'd feel after that, but, what I can do is assure you will never let it come to that, ever. Even if I had to use my quirk against you, I feel you'd want me to, so you'd never have to live with that awful guilt, you've already been through enough.

Ciana really appreciate what he said, but she could tell this idea scared him just as much as her. Ciana now frowned, knowing this is a dangerous risk to be around Izuku now.

"I'm starting to put Izuku at risk now when I'm around him… could I really end up scarring him for life…?" She thought this over for a moment, coming to a difficult decision now…

[Ciana] Then… maybe it's best I keep my distance from you… I know you can handle yourself but I'm not going to risk putting you in a dangerous position and scarring you for life…

This next lapse of time was by far the longest for her.

[Izuku] I

[Izuku] Okay...

[Izuku] You... probably thought about this, longer than me... if that's what you want, then I can accept that

Ciana teared up at this, not like she was breaking up with him but she didn't want to ruin their relationship because of her stupid quirk…

[Ciana] it's better this way… but I won't ever abandon you

[Izuku] ...I know

She could tell this was difficult for him as well… but Ciana didn't want him to hate her if she ended up doing anything… She wiped her incoming tears away as she goes to get out of the tub now, Ciana hated her quirk more than ever…

Now drying herself before putting her t-shirt and sweatpants on and finally stepping out.

Outside in her joint room was far more pleasant than her difficult choice moments ago, still feeling sick to her stomach. Ciana was about to call to Yuuki but saw her sitting on her bed on her stomach with her chin on a pillow. She was on the phone, only she wasn't as tense, and her visible eye was softer. Even her tail was swaying side to side which was adorable.

"-though I cannot speak from experience, ultimately, you can learn alot from him, despite his... less than positive mannerisms," Yuuki replied to whoever it was, then sighed softly. "Yes, you did make the correct choice. Of all Pros, he is the most direct method to learning how you harness your quirk to the fullest, even if your ideals aren't nearly as aligned as he believed,"

Nodding, Yuuki's gaze eventually locked to Ciana standing by the bathroom door, and her whole posture froze up. "Ahem, a-apologizes, I... I need to go, i-it appears my time has run thin, t-though I'll speak with you later tomorrow - yes, you too, bye," She hung up quickly and straightened herself out with a warning look mixed with panic. "...you could've said something..." She murmured, unnaturally bashful for the often cool and confident silverette.

She smiled kinda sheepishly, rubbing her neck. "Sorry about that… I didn't want to interrupt your call, I was actually on the phone too a minute ago. Sorry I took so long." Ciana goes to lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling very sadly.

Yuuki saw her expression, and thought it over for a moment as she left to run a new bath. Once she was back, she leaned against the wall beside Ciana's bed. "Judging by your expression, you had a tense conversation too,"

"You can say that…" Ciana took hold of her rabbit, starring at it painfully before she goes to hug it close. Shutting her eyes tightly to avoid her tears coming. "I-I had to make a difficult decision to keep my distance from someone… to avoid possibly hurting him if my instincts get worse…" Ciana clutched her rabbit tighter, still laying on her back as she tell Yuuki this.

"Midoriya, right?" She guessed, Ciana nodding slowly into her plush as Yuuki eyed her tail as it curled around her waist as it would beneath her clothes. "Animal instincts are essential a sixth sense, something humans weren't born with, and as such, learning to subconsciously control it is harder than the other five. However, there is a method, similar to that of our TCC training,"

"Hm?" Her gaze now turning to Yuuki, her eyes widen in surprise of this news. "R-really? There's a way to control it? But… does that apply to dragons as well?" Ciana wasn't sure if it'll be the same compared to regular animals.

"Despite the difference in traits, our instincts share the same impulses as our predator counterparts, whether we like it or not," Yuuki replied, now taking up a spot on Ciana's bed with her legs crossed. "However, in order to do this, I will require your complete trust... something I do not deserve... no matter, if you wish to learn this, then I will require that only,"

"Of course!" Ciana immediately goes to sit up, wanting to learn this way to avoid driving Izuku away further or anyone else. Now sitting with her legs crossed as well. "I'm not sure why you think I don't deserve your trust but there's no reason for me to think that badly of you, even if you did do something." Ciana guessed it might had to do with what happened during the festival for her to feel this way.

"...right," Yuuki briefly looked reluctant to accept that, but then her cold exterior returned. "Now, while you may not like this, I will need you to activate your quirk, not by much, only that initial glow you emanate for this to work - unfortunately, my... ally, Io, is the reason I am able to do this," She swallowed that bitter pill.

She definitely became very wide eye at this order, Ciana became hesitant to do this. "Y-you want me to activate my quirk…? B-but… w-what if it involves more of I do…?" She hugged herself, already shaken up at the idea of seeing her body changing again.

"I am only asking for a small fraction, I need your quirk to be active for this to work, even I can't properly explain this method, but it worked for me, even just to have bodily control over my instincts," Yuuki didn't budge, watching Ciana firmly. "Of course... I could try other methods to pulling your quirk out," She flexed her hand casually. "I could try to slice you open like before, or maybe you'd prefer a more intimate method over violence, I do not entirely care,"

She really is pretty blunt about this… Ciana thinks it over for a moment, staring down at her rabbit in hand for a second before her gaze goes back up. Ciana was scared about this. "Alright… you know this better than I do, though if I start to panic then don't be afraid to knock me out if I lose control…" Izuku wasn't with her this time to calm her down.

Taking a deep breath, her heart was pounding crazy but does as she is told by having herself light up once again…

"Believe me, I have no issue knocking a person out," Yuuki exhaled, watching that familiar glow envelop the ravenette. It was so strange, how warm and inviting this golden radiance was compared to her master's dark and almost frightening glint, but both carried power if used correctly. "Now, keep your eyes closed, and no matter how discomforting this may be, do not disrupt me or I will have to restart the process,"

Ciana could tell she wouldn't have an issue as she seems very ninja like to pull that off… though nods at her instruction as she kept her eyes closed, she didn't want to open them anyways to see any possible changes again. "I'll try not to…" Ciana didn't want to mess up, especially if this will be her chance to get herself under control to avoid going into predator mode.

This was a good opportunity to simply whisk Ciana away. No one was around, no one would even hear a thing. Instead, Yuuki raised her fingertips and snuck her hand under Ciana's shirt until her cold nails pressed to the center of Ciana's chest, holding them there for a moment. As expected, Ciana did gasp from the contact, her face turning a little red but Yuuki held her hand where it was, closing her eyes as she focused a strange, warm pressure to her hand, the tingly feeling spreading to her fingertips. "Soul Forge - Esoteric Art," Then came a dull pulse that struck Ciana's whole body at once.

It felt like millions of warm hands were clenched around her skin from every angle, squeezing until that feeling dug into her body, to a place beyond a physical sensation, like an invisible part of her was being cupped between two hands as it became stronger. That's when her hearing felt acute, her smell picking up on the faint whiff of food somewhere outside their room, and when she opened her eyes, everything felt sharper, the colours and details bolder than they were previously.

Yuuki let out a shaky breath, removing her hand to hold her forehead. "That... is still... alot for me... if not for total concentration I... couldn't manage,"

Ciana blinked her eyes a few times to process what just happened… pretty confused now as she ended up hugging herself in concern for herself. "W-what do you mean? W-what just happened to me…?" Ciana didn't get what happened and what that had to do with controlling herself.

"It is... something only... Io can use, whatever... it is," Yuuki took a moment to regulate her breathing again to explain. "Firstly, you've noticed your senses have heightened, yet, you are no longer glowing when you do so," She nodded to Ciana to check.

"Wait what?" Ciana has noticed that which was strange… but didn't exactly take that well as she panicked a little. "Hold on, w-wouldn't that mean my quirk evolved more…?" This is just getting more strange and confusing for her.

"No, the ability I just used enhanced a different aspect of you; your soul," Yuuki tapped two fingers to the center of her chest. "Quirks are not only physical and mental, but also spiritual, by strengthening your soul, you can now freely use your enhanced senses without the need of your quirk, thereby, allowing you to learn better control over your mood swings or other aspects - hence why your quirk is no longer active,"

Her eyes widen at this, it still sounded confusing but also kinda reliving. "You mean… like I could continue to sense emotions without it? And that I won't have to worry about doing anything weird anymore?" She gazed down to her hands, seeing she didn't have scales or her nails grow again.

"I am unsure of your emotion sensing, but, you may acquire the ability to tell when a person feels basic emotions by certain chemical reactions their body gives off, like if they are lying or sad - but yes, with time and practice, you will have a far better grip on your body's reactions, what I have done is simply give you... solid ground to start from, shall we say?" Yuuki replied, moving to the edge of the bed. "My bath sounds nearly ready, I shall leave you to experiment as you will,"

She nods, but smiles very thankfully toward Yuuki. "Alright I rather not keep you long from it again, thank you so much for this Yuuki… you have no idea how much this meant to me." Ciana looked a bit more relived, she wasn't sure if that she is fully under control but it sounded like she will do a bit better now, at least she hopes so.

"...sure," She nodded a little bashfully, leaving Ciana's sight with her towel and clothes.

Once she was out of sight, Ciana checked her body over to make sure there were no unknown changes. So far she saw nothing which is good, that sure was an interesting experiment… sure wasn't what Ciana expected, she still felt kinda animilish with her senses heighten… but hoped this means she will control herself around Izuku.

Speaking of him… Ciana gaze went to her phone, narrowing her brows debating what to do… deciding to call him as she put her phone up to her ear.

~Hello? Ciana?~ Izuku sounded... out of breath? But he quickly coughed into his hand. ~A-are you okay?~

~Yeah, a-at least I think so…~ Ciana is happy hearing his voice again, but took noticed he sounded tired. Wondering if she caught him at a bad time. ~Sorry… were you in the middle of training still? Is this a bad time?~

~No-no!~ He blurted out, then spoke calmly. ~It was more my own private workout, so far, crash and burn - but I'm free to talk~

~I'm surprised you can still keep moving after the intense training the old guy put you through.~ She giggled a bit, managing to smile a little.

~Well, o-once I actually learned to dodge his insane mobility then yes, the strikes lessened~ He sighed a small chuckle himself, enjoying hearing her sound more cheerful then what it was through their texts.

She felt the same, Ciana always found a reason to smile when she gets to hear his cute voice. ~I admire your motivation but don't push yourself too much, I'm sorry by the way for scaring you before what I wrote… I-I hope you didn't feel too awkward reading about what I told you from what I learned about dragons and their weird instincts…~

She felt kinda awkward mentioning this, rubbing her neck anxiously.

~I-I was taken back, t-that's a given, but knowing you, y-you were bound to look into every angle, and... I-I get it, wanting to... keep distance because of it~ Izuku tried very hard to keep his voice from showing his sadness and worry of this outcome. He accepted it... but he also hated it. ~I-it's not safe for you to risk anything, and I grateful you'd do t-that for me~

Ciana guessed by the way he was stuttering that Izuku was very uncomfortable by the news, she hated that she became scary now. ~m-maybe I won't have to keep my distance too much now, a-at least I hope so… but if you feel too weird being alone with me then I'll understand myself especially how freaky it sounded…~

~That's not it...~ He replied curtly. ~I... I am scared, but not because of what your quirk's doing to you, but... I'm scared that I'll... lose you...~ That last part came out a whisper, but with Ciana's sharp hearing, she caught it crystal clear. ~After everything... I'm terrified that something will... just mess everything up, and-and I can't stop it when it happens... I'll be right back where I was... half a year ago~

Ciana frowned sadly at the tone of his voice, she was scared too. Which is why she was trying to protect him from herself. ~No you wouldn't… Izuku you still have all our friends at the dorm including Iida and Uraraka, you never would be alone even if I did go away… I'm terrified as well that I'll lose you and have you someday hate me due to my quirk messing with my mind…~

Some tears were coming and Ciana had to quickly wipe them away. ~But I'm also afraid this is a sign I'm really a mistake… I-I mean that I might have ended up possibly messing with your life in the end just by being with me, I'm starting to become a monster who could scar you for life, if I never showed up then you would have been happier with someone else… you wouldn't even have to worry about these risks… ~ This is what had her tears come out now, knowing this could have been the reason she never was supposed to be with Izuku in the first place.

~You are the bestest friend I have ever had… and I care about you a lot to keep you safe from myself and for you to remain happy… I-I don't want you to fear me or eventually even wish we never met because of this, I… I-I don't want to ruin your future or be the reason your not happy anymore…~

~Stop saying that...~ He muttered for a moment. ~...I don't care how hard it is, how much I have to endure. I don't care if everyone disagreed or hated me for it. But you... you are not some mistake, sure, we're both walking on thin ice everyday, but I know that if anyone deserves to be here, it's you... I believe in you, in every part of you~ His voice was firm on that last part, bleeding his emotions dry to emphasize it all.

Once again Ciana was touched by her hero's words, but even she didn't want to take the risk if he will hate her for what she could do. ~I… really appreciate your words… I-I don't know what will happen to me in the future, but I might be able to control my instincts now thanks to Yuuki, at least I think so…~

~Really? That's great, I knew she'd be able to help... even if she still sorta scares me, heh~ Izuku's voice was a little more upbeat again.

She was a bit surprised the change of tone, giggling a little. ~she scared me at first too, but she's actually not so scary once you get to know her, though someone is giving her a hard time who keeps calling her… I think Yuuki has a mentor similar to Shotos dad and expects a lot from her~

He made a noise at that, ~...I guess that explains both her combat prowess and her cold demeanour, but, if she's willing to help you, then she clearly has ambitions of her own, separate from whatever her mentor wants~

~I agree, being away from the guy is bringing some light for her here. So far we been doing breathing techniques practice on breaking vases… which is really cool but exhausting!~ Ciana wasn't too fond of the breathing techniques as it makes her so exhausted and frustrating. ~we'll probably be continuing more of that tomorrow…~

~So Edgeshot knows of it too? And... vases? I mean... whatever works I guess?~ Izuku was a little confused on that part, but it sounded like Ciana would get the training she wanted. ~Same for me, more training, don't know if or when Gran Torino plans to do any form of patrol work~

~I'm not sure ether, I think once they think we're ready then we'll be off doing hero work~ She giggles, now laying on her belly with her feet hanging in the air. ~I wish I could check in on Shoto though… I admit I'm a little worried about him and haven't even got his number to ask, I been worrying if his dad is abusing him again in someway…~

She frowned in concern for her other friend, Ciana could never forget what she heard Endeavor put his son through as well as his wife…

~I'm sure he's okay, he did pick Endeavor's agency for a reason, so he'll be able to handle himself, but I get it~ Izuku reassured her.

~I know he can at least handle himself, I saw how strong he became during the festival. I wouldn't think he's beating him again, but more giving him a hard time… I mean I know Endeavor was stressing and putting a lot of pressure on his son during the festival… I just hope he will be okay and not reliving anymore trauma…~ Ciana was concerned without anyone to be there for him then Shoto will be like how he was during the festival… overwhelmed and angry.

~He will, Todoroki's shown that, and I think after everything at the festival, he's probably not as much phased by whatever his dad says; and Endeavor will probably realize that he's not listening at some point~ Izuku added, certain their friend is more than capable.

~I sure hope so, especially since we gave the hothead a hard time about that.~ She responds proudly with another giggle. ~He's still very stubborn though, hopefully he will realize by the end of this week that Shoto doesn't want to be like his dad and that he's already an amazing hero.~ She smiled in a happier tone when saying that, having a lot of admiration for Todoroki.

~I wonder how Iida and Bakugo are doing though? I don't think I ever got to find out much who they decided to work with…~ now Cianas expression became curious.

~Kacchan I think went to another top pro that scouted him, Best Jeanist, he's in the fourth spot~ Izuku muttered in thought. ~As for Iida, I'm not sure who he went to, but... ah, nevermind~

~Oh I think I recall that hero you told me about… the guy covered in jeans and can unleash a powerful restrain or something like that?~ She sweat-dropped at the mention of him, he was another odd looking hero she didn't understand. ~At least he will be able to restrain Bakugo if he does anything too violent… good choice for him~

She giggles, smiling a bit more. ~Say why do you call him Kacchan anyways? Is that like a childhood nickname you call him like how his mom calls you Zuzu…?~

~Oh, that, um, yeah, basically... only I ever called him that as far as I'm aware, then once he got his quirk, I became 'Deku', though I suppose it's less grating given it's my hero name now~ Izuku replied simply, then sounded like he was deflated. ~...please never mention that nickname Aunt Mitsuki uses...~

~I won't… I rather use it when I want to tease you myself…~ She replied playfully, but then became concerned again knowing he called himself Deku. ~I admit though… I'm still surprised you wanted to be known as Deku, you never liked that nickname and it's meaning doesn't match you at all… aren't you afraid people will make fun of you more because of your hero name…?~

~I said it in class, looking back on it, yeah, the name did hold alot of bad memories, mainly I felt useless as it was intended. And yet, All Might, my mom, and you, the more I trained, the less I felt as weak and defenceless; I became the very thing 'Deku' was meant to stamp out, so in a way, it's more a sense of irony. Plus, Deku really rolls off the tongue, so I don't mind at all, not anymore~ His confidence was clear and crystal, Izuku would stick by this name, just as Ciana stuck to her mother's name as her hero title. ~I never said it, but I think your hero name is really nice~

~Thanks! Remember when I told you my hair clip belonged to my mom because it was a trademark to her name? I didn't tell you what it was but her name is Chris but her nickname was Chrysalis in school because of her tough personality, I thought maybe she would like if I made her name more known heroically… I told Bakugo that back at the festival, he might of thought it was cheesy though.~ Ciana now smiled and blushed a bit pink from his praise of her name.

~But I don't know if I can refer you to a name that means useless cuz your definitely the opposite of that, but I think I know now why you want to be known as it. I'm just worried how Bakugo will take that… I mean he might think your mocking him if your referring that as your hero name now.~ now shifting her tone to sound worried how their exploding friend will be after that.

~I see... well, it's a good choice for you, the Radiant Hero Chrysalis. And as for Kacchan... I... really don't care if I do - I mean, he thinks I'm trying to ridicule him in some way for 'hiding my quirk' so if he hates me more for it... so be it~ Izuku answered, clearly aloof about mocking his old friend, after the festival, Izuku really hadn't the energy to be worried what he's saying or doing concerning Katsuki.

That's when a yawn struck Izuku, ~Sorry, I think having my face smacked off brick walls is finally getting to me...~

~Well please still be careful not to rile him up like back from the battle test… last thing I want is to see you two almost killing each other again.~ Ciana was pretty firm on that with her brows narrowed, but then smiled sadly that Izuku had to hit the hay.

~Alright well I won't-… wait, what?! A-are you just joking or did you really get smacked against hard walls…?~ remembering how Izuku was smacked to a wall after battling Todoroki… Ciana did not imagine that well.

~Ah... well, erm... so, I'm trying to work on my ability to vault between vertical surfaces, so I'm in an alleyway right now, so far I've managed to get halfway up before I face plant the wall and fall into the trash bags below... i-it's really a work in progress~ Izuku gulped. ~G-good thing my quirk enhances me durability, hehehe...~

~What did I tell you about being reckless?! I swear if I find out you broke another bone from bouncing off walls trying to be like a rabbit then I m gonna give you more of a hard time than the nurse could give!~ Ciana did not like Izuku was being reckless again and abusing himself, being pretty firmed about this.

~I'm not there to help boost or heal you again so please don't make me go to bed worrying… I understand wanting to get better with your quirk but don't do anything that will put you in the hospital…~ She softened up after taking a deep breath, now sounding worried for her hero pushing himself to get hurt.

~I-I'm fine, I swear, like I said, I'm alot more durable, plus, Gran Torino really isn't one to hold back... well, he does as I'm not like All Might, but still~ He then spoke a little softer. ~I know you'll worry, but I promise I'm being cautious with how I train~

~You're right, you're not like All Might and that's just fine~ Ciana was firm but also soft with her words as she kept talking. ~I remember your mom telling me how much you always wanted to be like All Might ever since you were younger, having so much admiration for him is great how he inspired you, but your your own person and your own hero. Your already like him enough having the heart to pull through and being there for others.~

Ciana clutched her rabbit again, wishing she had Izuku in her arms. ~My point is you don't have to match how All Might does everything but do things your own way, you may be durable but your not indestructible. No hero is, I know you'll succeed on your path doing techniques your own way your most comfortable with, so stop trying to think like him and think what you want to do with your own power without being so reckless~

His end was silent, Ciana's sharper hearing picking up on his movements as a familiar sound of sparks faded. ~...thank you...~ His voice croaked slightly as he sniffed a small laugh. ~I'll have something to work on then~

Ciana smiled a little but didn't expect to hear him tear up, hoping she wasn't too hard on him. ~Good, I don't expect any less from my hero.~ She smiled brighter saying this with a happy blush on her cheeks. ~But I hope that means you won't collide yourself with the walls again… I'm already concerned how your face looks from doing that…~

Another laugh escaped him. ~Y-yeah, I'll need a shower after this, but this lovely face you seem to adore will be preserved~ He jokingly replied.

~Alright well I need to practice doing my breathing technique in my sleep anyways… watch yourself with that guy, I pray you'll still be alive when this week is up.~ Ciana jokes with a playful smile, knowing this teacher guy is rough. ~By the way quick question, did he make any teasing comments about us when he was watching you talk to me before…?~

~Um... not really? He more had this strange look of... sadness, or maybe it was irritation, I'm not entirely sure, but he only ever asked who you were, then nothing more~ Izuku replied, finding Gran Torino's attitude very strange and out of character.

~Oh… that's… huh?~ Her brow raised at this news. ~Well I'm not there to read his emotions so I'm not sure how to comment about that… maybe he's jealous you have a girlfriend, or… he's thinking back to his wife?~ Ciana wasn't sure if he is or was in a relationship before, she guess that could be the reason if this guy became sad. ~Ether that or he didn't want you to be too distracted having all your attention on me…~

~He didn't seem to have any evidence that indicated toward a previous relationship, I'd ask him but I feel he'll just say I was distracting myself again - which I'm not, hearing you is like motivation, so it's a valid excuse~ Izuku huffed slightly. ~In all seriousness, I'll talk to you tomorrow when we're free, sound good?~

~Alright sounds good, cuz hearing your voice again always brings a smile to my face.~ She smiled sadly, again wishing she could see him with her. ~As always stay strong… I hope you have a good night~

~You too, Ciana~ Izuku replied once more before the call ended.

With that she puts her phone down. "Who knew training to be a hero would be this painful… I wonder if any of the marvel hero's at home in the stories ever went through this?" Ciana yawned now as she laid back on her bed with her head on her pillow, clutching her rabbit closely as her eyes begun to flutter close.
