Loud sounds of an engine roaring made Tenya almost drop his bowl of cereal. Scrambling to keep a hold of it, he places it on the counter and all but runs to the door that connects to the garage. Poking his head out, he glares slightly, "Arcee, are you crazy? You're going to wake up my brother,"
"Grab your helmet and your bag. Its go time, I got to drop you off at the school before I head out on patrol,"
Tenya sighs, "I was eating breakfast,"
"Well hurry up!" Arcee order, "and leave a note for your brother! He worries!" she calls out as Tenya closes the door.
"Bulkhead!" Ochako calls out, a smile on her face, "You're here!" pulls herself up into the passenger side, dropping her bag on the floor and quickly buckles up.
"Of course I am," Bulkhead's voice spoke from the speaker, "I'm your guardian now. That means I got to make sure that you make it to the places you need to go safely.." he falters though, when he heard something growl, "What was that?"
"Oh… that was my stomach," Ochacko grins sheepishly, "I have to skip breakfast,"
"Listen… I don't know much about humans, I only been on this planet for a year but isn't breakfast the most important meal of the day?"
"Yeah…" Ochako grimaces, "But I'm broke… I was lucky enough to get this apartment to rent," she turns her head, looking out the window as they drove down the road, "If I didn't get a scholarship for UA I wouldn't even been able to walk through its halls, let alone be allow to take the exam,"
"I get that, but you still need to fuel up...ah!" Ochako yelp, holding onto her seat as Bulhead does a quick turn, tires screeching on the road. Her head jerks a bit, making her blink rapidly as the windows rolled down. "Lennox, Epps… you have any spare cash?"
Ochako stares before her face begins to burn red, "Bulkhead!" she hisses, slapping his dashboard and making sure that she didn't hit him with all five of her fingers. She did not need to throw up on the second day of school. She quickly turns her head to the two soldiers that she recognizes from the base, "Don't listen to him! I'm alright!"
Lennox blinks, turning his gaze to Epps who shrugs, "Yeah, I have enough money to spare. What's wrong, big guy?"
"Ochako miss breakfast because she doesn't have mon-ow! Ochako would you stop kicking me!"
"I don't need handouts!" Ochako hisses, her face even burning redder, but she falters to a stop when Epps holds out some money to her, "Wait...no really you don't need to do that,"
"Its not a handout kiddo," Epps grins, "Your part of the team now, and Team Prime helps each other out. That means making sure you don't starve," he gently presses it into her hand, "And anyway, you need your strength! I heard that Hero training is hard,"
Ochako frowns, looking at the money but blinks as a hand patted her on the shoulder. Looking up at Lennox, he smiles, "Don't worry about it and anyway, both our wives will kick our asses for letting a kid go hungry,"
"Buckle up your seat belt, Denki," Blinking, Denki looks at Electro's speaker, confuse a bit before he lets out a yelp as Electro drives.
He then couldn't help but smile letting out a screech of joy, "Hey! What's with you Electro!?"
"Thought you might actually enjoy a ride without the fear of getting shot at," Electro stated with a quip and if Denki could see his face, he was sure there would have been a giant smile on the mech's face, "You see like a person who enjoys some… speed in their life,"
"Oh bring it," Denki chirps out, a grin splitting across his face.
"All right class, tell me where the mistake in this next english sentence example is," Present Mic calls out to them, Izuku leaning in her chair, eyes scanning the board. Present Mic sighs, taking in a deep breath that made Jiro and Kiba quickly cover their ears, "WHO KNOWS THE ANSWER? EVERYBODY HANDS UP AND RAISE THEM HIGH!"
Izuku had to hold back the grin as Omni's head slams into his desk, some people groaning in agreement with him and even Bakugou's pencil snapped in half. Though while UA was a university that has a heroics department it was still a university. So at the beginning of the day, they had regular lessons.
Regular lessons taught by heroes.
"Present Mic for Languages, Midnight for History, Cementoss for Modern Literature, Ectoplasm for Mathematics, Snipe for Law, Eraserhead for Criminology, and Power Loader for Science… all these before lunch," Izuku thought as Present Mic pointed at Yaoyorozu who stood up and explained which sentence was written wrong. "This is the standard lesson plan for those in the Heroics Department,"
At noon they all gather in the grand mess hall to sample first rate cuisine for a good price made by none other than the Cooking Hero: Lunch rush.
"But finally, that afternoon, our daily foundational Heroic Studies begin," Izuku thought, watching as her classmates all whispered excitedly. They all knew who was coming through that door any second, all of them twitching as they waited with bated breath.
"This is going to be so cool," Denki mutters, his fingers tapping rapidly on the wooden desk, his eyes repeatedly flickering to the door, "I mean…. All Might… the All Might is going to be teaching us. How cool is that?"
"Very," Uraraka grins in agreement, all but hopping up and down in her seat. "This is really it isn't it?" she smiles softly and if Izuku looked closer, she could see the sadness in her eyes, "This… all of this. We're on our ways on becoming heroes, right?"
"Indeed," Iida agreeded, pushing his glasses up. The class though, all grew silent at the loud footsteps trickle in their ears. All their eyes landed on the door, holding their breaths.
"I AM…. COMING THOUGH THE DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!" All Might announces, slamming the door open. Startled, they all jump in their seats, except for Denki who let out a yelp as he falls out of his chair, using it as a shield and hisses at the number one hero. "Kaminari are you alright?!"
Kaminari trembles, his eyes wide a bit, before he takes a deep breath, "Y-yeah… I'm alright teach...sorry," he laughs nervously, rubbing the back of his neck, "Just wasn't expecting that…" face red he quickly settles back to his seat, hands gripping his knees as his ears pinned to his head as he ignores everyone staring at him.
All Might coughs, gaining their attention, "Foundational Heroic Studies. For this class, we'll be building up your hero foundation through various trials. Thanks to my assistant, Yagi and your homeroom teacher, Tigershard, I have a good idea of your starting line. So today we will jump right in with this!" he holds out a card that had the word 'Battle' printed on it in large bold letters, "The trial of battle,"
"Isn't this a little bit advance?" Asui, "Call me Tsuyu" asked, raising a finger to her lips. Bakugou who had been grinning like a mad man, snaps his head to her and glowers at her.
"Maybe a little," All Might nodded at her question, "But I want you all to get a feel of your costumes," at this, the class broke out into whispers again, making All Might chuckle as he holds out a remote, and a shelf emerged from the left wall, holding cases. "We will be doing this battle trial so you can test out your costumes, and Monday you shall be with Tigershard, Yagi, Powerloader and Midnight to make any changes in your design," he laughs a bit when the other looks confuse.
Bakugou stands up, and Izuku could see the fury shining in his red eyes, "My costume doesn't need any fucking changes! Its perfect the way I designed it!"
All Might laughs, "But you all have seen me change my costumes over the years, have you not?" he holds out the cape he was wearing, "This one in fact is my Silver Age Costume! I have changed my costume about four times during my years as a hero. You will all have the final say on what your costume is about, but its a good idea to figure out what works for you. Some of you presented detail instructions on what you wanted your costume to be like, while others gave a basic description on your powers, allowing the Support companies to design what they think might work for you," he then frowns, and they could see disappointment growing on his face, "Unfortunately, over the years Support Companies have only care about flashy designs… many have forgotten that these costumes are to help you stay alive," he then shakes his head, "Now then, grabbed your numbered case and get changed! We shall all meet on Ground Beta!"
The young adults all quickly scrambled out of their seats, grabbing their respected number case and quickly ran out of the classroom to the locker rooms. While they were all felt a little bit of fear, especially those who had allowed the Support Companies to handle the design, they all couldn't help but feel giddy at this. This was something almost all of them had ever wanted, had ever dream of.
No one could hardly blame them for acting this way.
"What the heck?!" Izuku who had place her case down turns to Hagakure who was shaking her case upside down. The tone in her voice held a slight fear and panic in it, "Are you kidding me?"
"Girl? Are you ok?" Ashido asked, frowning, "Did you lose your costume?"
"No! They didn't give me a costume!" Hagakure screams, dropping the case to the ground, "They just gave me boots and gloves! Just a pair of boots and gloves! I know I'm invisible but really!? What will happen if I get hit? There are people with gun Quirks, people with blade Quirks and even weather Quirks! Just because I'm invisible doesn't mean I'm invincible!"
"I guess All Might was right about this," Yaoyorozu mutters as she walks over. None of the girls couldn't help the blushes that grew on their faces at the sight of her. She was wearing a high-collared sleeveless crimson leotard with silver lines at her waist and arms. The middle of it, was open, exposing her skin from her neck to just below her navel, allowing all of them to get a good look of her chest. She was sporting a pair of red boots that had heels, which dip sharply down in the center. Wrapped around her waist were two gold utility belts, with a small shelf attached to the back holding a shelf, "I know I need to show some skin for my Quirk, but I had hope they could have given me what Midnight has. You know the one that is easily rippable but easy to fix?"
"Well I guess this is why Uncle Might wants us to talk to Powerloader and Midnight tomorrow," Shield stated, wearing just black trousers and a sports bra. Her blue eyes then widen and she begins to stutter out, "I mean...I mean All Might…"
"UNCLE MIGHT?"
Izuku shakes her head, laughing under her breath as the other girls crowded around Shield, shooting questions to her rapidly. Opening the latches of her own case, Izuku peers down at her gear and she couldn't help the small smile that grew on her face at the sight.
6 years ago- Kamino City
"I don't know why you brought me here, Predaking," Aurora mutters as they strolled down the empty street. All around them there were cars overturned, torn in half, shards of glass shatter on the ground, crunching under their boots. "You taking me out of the base and having a one-on-one talk isn't going to change my mind,"
"Who said anything about changing your mind?" he looks over his shoulder, snickering at the deadpan look on her face, "I just thought you would like some fresh air now that old Red Alert is no longer keeping you in his infirmary,"
"Uh huh," Aurora rolls her eyes, "And it has nothing to do with the news that I'm not joining in the fight," its been two weeks now since she had been rescued from the Pits and she had learned plenty of what has happen during the year she had been Scourge's Champion. Two fractions have formed, that of Heroes and villains, and that of villains. Both groups working together but never fully as one all in the name of trying to bring Scourge and his Terrorcons down. Apelinq, a Hero that Aurora had remember writing down in one of her many notebooks had asked her to join the Maximals and yet Aurora had refuse. "I'm not changing my mind on this Predaking… I am done fighting, all I do is spilled blood,"
"You didn't spilled blood, you survived," Predaking turns to her, and gently takes her arms into his hands. He did it slowly, making sure that Aurora didn't flinch back, "It is not anyone's fault but Scourge's, he use the Pits to satisfied his army and to show the world outside of Kamino on what he can do once Aegis' shield is brought down, on what he shall do to all of Earth. And yet… others still looked up to you, they saw you, someone Quirkless surviving in there. Others who look to you for strength and hope, the name you even gave yourself, Aurora… a beautiful light in this dark hell," he falters to a stop, face flushing as he realize what he said and he quickly turns.
"I… I almost killed her," Aurora mutters, looking at her hands, "If she hadn't scream… I would have,"
"And yet you didn't," Predaking whispers, "You didn't kill her...you stop," he pointed out, before he lets his hands slip away, "Aurora… what did you want to be when you grew up?"
Aurora blinks at this, before she scoffs, "What does it matter. It was never going to happen,"
"Enlighten me then," Predaking urges, "I promise I won't laugh,"
Aurora sighs, closing her eyes, "I… I wanted to be a Hero… like All Might," she admitted, shrugging her shoulder, "I wanted everyone to see me and knew that they were safe with me around… and yet… I know that can never happen. Not now… and not then,"
"And why not?" Predaking prompts, gently pulling at her arm, and the two began to walk down the road once more.
"Because I'm Scourge's Champion?" Aurora answers with a sneer in her voice as they passed mechanical debris and burning heaps of trash, "And even before all of this happen, I am Quirkless,"
"And what does being Quirkless means of being a Hero? How can that stop you from doing what you want," Aurora couldn't help the laugh that escape her at seeing his expression. It… warmed her that he was actually confused about how not having a Quirk is stopping her from being a Hero.
"Because being Quirkless means I'm useless, good for nothing, that I will find no job and the only thing I'm good for is spreading my legs to anyone that is deseprate. I will be living on the streets and then soon find myself dead in a ditch with no one caring who I was…" Aurora falters to a stop as Predaking begins to growl, anger, his lips curled to show his sharp fangs.
"If I find the people who said that sort of stuff to you, I'll kill them,"
"You don't have to do that… its just the way of life," Aurora stated, and in her head she could feel a growl of rage. The voice that had helped her during her year in the Pit was still strong, and he agreed with Predaking's statement that the people who had spill those words into her head should be punished. "All men are not created equal,"
"You have a beating heart do you not?" Aurora blinks, started at this, but Predaking continues, "Blood runs through your veins, just as All Might's. You have eyes, ears, nose, a mouth just as anybody us. All of us are humans, deep down under the power of our Quirks… people say that your lack of Quirk makes you weak but you...you Aurora in the pits you took the suffering that Scourge had made into his leisure, where many have fallen and yet you...you rise above all. Just as I did," Predaking squeezes her hand, "I had no name before all of this… except for the title of C-66… that was all I knew," he whispers, staring at his reflection in the broken window of a shop, "But I took the name Predaking to show the world that I will not bow down, that I refuse to bow down before anyone,"
"Or you just like being called a king," Aurora jokes, bringing out a snort from the other. She grunts a little as he pulls her into the abandoned shop, both ignoring the half decayed bodies that laid across the floor, and the smell. Aurora watches as he looks through the clothes, humming to himself before he grins holding out a blue grey sleeveless vest with a cream colored fur lining. "Uh… what am I suppose to do with this?" she asked, taking it into her own hands.
"Try it on of course!" Predaking gestures her to do so and with a roll of her eyes Aurora does so. Slipping it on. It was slightly big on her malnourished frame, but it looked good on her… "You, see? You may think you don't deserve to be a Hero… that you don't deserve to save others… but the truth is Aurora, only by knowing how we have fallen will we understand what it is to rise again,"
Izuku shakes her head, pulling herself out of her memory. "Time to keep your head on straight, Aurora. On the way to working towards a new world… a better world,"
Melissa sighs as she steps out of the tunnel, making sure that every thing was in place. Luckily, unlike the other girls it seem, with her dad and herself creating her costume she will have nothing to worry about. Her costume consisted of black trousers and thigh-high oxford blue boots, matching with the chest plate with angular faulds extending into ankle-length skirt. She didn't wear her regular glasses but instead she wore a pink tinted visor around her eyes that were held up by two devices that covered her ears, not only protecting them but also acting as a communicator.
"Looking good there, Melissa," turning her head from the pink gauntlets that were wrapped around her arms, Melissa smiles at Jiro, fighting the blush that wanted to burn on her face. Her friend was wearing a black leather jacket over a long salmon-colored shirt that had several rips in the collar and hem and black pants. Stereos were built into the shafts of her boots while she had painted two small red triangles under her eyes. "I kinda feel under dress around you all,"
"I think you look nice, really! The punk look is good for you," Melissa felt please when Jiro grins at her, "And I mean… it looks nicer than what others have," Jiro grimaces in agreement, both of them eyeing poor Koda's who was pulling at his yellow bodysuit uncomfortably.
"Agreed," Jiro mutters, turning her gaze to Kaminari, whose costume was stylized to be more of a triathlon suit. Below his utility belt that had pockets for basic first aid and added tools, his lower region of his costume consisted of fiber alloy pants with reinforced armor plating around his thighs to protect them from sharp weaponry aimed for potential arteries. His knees and shins were also protected with metal plating. Though his knees were less covered to provide better mobility, his chest was protected by bulletproof fabric that was etched into the color scheme and style of a cheetah. Covering his otherwise unprotected shoulders was a trench coat with armored shoulders and gauntlets with the continued cheetah scheme designing them.
His tail was swaying behind him as he happily talked to Kiba, who was shirtless, wearing brown trousers that were wrapped around his eagle talon feet with brownish-gray wrap. Wrapped around his waist was a black cape, held up by a belt. His wings flutter on his back, laughing as he wrapped an arm around Kaminari, pulling him in close and barking at Onnen who ignores him, turning his head to stare at the gate. His hero costume consisted of a skin tight silver and yellow swimsuit that exposed his arms, lower legs and tail. He had a purple utility belt wrapped around his waist, and a hunting knife that was thankfully sheathe.
Kaminari quickly pulls out of Kiba's grip, chirping out as another figure emerges from the tunnel, "Boss!"
Turning their gazes, they all stared at Pax as she walks towards them. The leader of the Maximals was wearing a unique style uniform, one would even say was more suited for a military officer than a hero. A trucker style coat that was a rich emerald green shade with a popped color hung from her shoulders. It had segmented sleeves, the sleeves cutting off partly to show off her metal biceps before continuing down with arm guards that shone with the Autobot and Maximal insignia. Covering her hands were black leather gloves with exposed finger tips so her claws could easily extend outward. Her black shirt also sported bulletproof fabric and abdominal armor that added more durable to her already threatened underbelly. Grey military pants donned her legs with black straps crossing over her thighs just in case of equipment shortages. And finally knee high black boots with pockets on the sides for additional blades in case of close combat encounters. Both boots had flare outs from underneath the folded rim of their respective shafts and were secured to her feet with buckles. Hanging around her neck, was a metal, diamond shaped respirator that had eight holes in it.
"Wow...now I feel under dress," Melissa whispers, and Jiro nodded her head in agreement at that. But before they could say anything else, All Might suddenly appeared in front of them, drawing their attention to him.
"Alright everyone! Wow you all look cool!" he smiles brightly at them as they crowded in front of him, "Now remember, while you may be to do some more thinking of your costumes on Monday, from here on out, you're all officially heroes! Lets see what you are made of, you newbies!" he spreads his arms wide, "it is time for the trial of battle!"
"Sir," Iida calls out, and Melissa couldn't help but be startled. She had recognize Iida's last name from the Hero name who founded the Team Idaten Agency, so she had thought like the rest of his family he would been wearing the same costume design they all had. Instead, Iida was wearing a black bodysuit that covers his whole body, with a shade of cobalt blue going down his front. He had a silver chest plate with matching shoulder guards and silver knee-high boots with black accessories. Instead of his glasses, he was wearing black goggles. "Regarding the ground we'll be using, is it the mock city from the entrance exam?"
"No, instead we shall be doing an indoor battle trial! While yes villain cleanup is usually seen out in the open, but statistically, the better part of it is an indoor job. Most acts of villiany are committed indoors. Imprisonment, house arrest, the Black Market, in this Hero saturated society any villain with intelligence is lurking in the shadows!"
At once though, the class broke off into questions.
"Sir, will you be the one deciding who wins?"
"How much can we hurt the other team," Bakugou grins, making others step away from him after hearing the gleeful tone in his voice. Melissa saw Kiba and Kaminari step a bit closer to Izuku.
"Will you be splitting us up base on chance or comparative skills?"
"Isn't this cape tres chic?" Aoyama smiles, holding out his purple cape.
"I wasn't finish talking!" All Might sputters, before he pulls out a piece of paper and unfolds it. Melissa couldn't help the snort that escape from her, before she grunts as Jiro elbows her a bit.
"The situation is this. You shall be spiliting into a team of two. One 'Guarding', the other Attacking." One team is to defend a dummy inside a hideout, to mimic heroes attempting to protect civilians from villains. The other team is to attempt to retrieve the dummy and there are three ways to win. Either team must captured the other team which is a win for either side. If the fifteen minute time foes out, then the team guarding the dummy wins. If the team searching for the dummy manages to get a hand on the dummy they win," at this he then grabbed a box, "Your teammates and opponents will be chosen by lottery,"
"Is that really how we'll do it?" Iida exclaims.
"Pros are often force to make impromptu team-ups with other Heroes they might not know very well, so this is probably testing that," Iida blinks at this, turning his gaze to Pax before nodding his head.
"Good, and to answer your question, Bakugou," the boy stiffens a bit, but does not let down his glare as Uncle Might turns to him, "Accidents happen during training, but if you attempt to intentionally injured another student without probable cause, you shall be having a nice chat with the Principal," for once, Bakugou looks cowed, looking down at his boots, softly growling. "Now if that is all! Lets get started!"
Team A: Izuku Pax and Ochako Uraraka
Team B: Shouta Todoroki and Kaito Onnen
Team C: Melissa Shield and Momo Yaoyorozu
Team D: Katsuki Bakugou and Tenya Iida
Team E: Yuga Aoyama and Mina Ashido
Team F: Ginrou Kiba and Koji Koda
Team G: Kyoka Jiro and Denki Kaminari
Team H: Tsuyu Asui and Fumikage Tokoyami
Team I: Toru Hagakura and Mashirao Ojiro
Team J: Eijiro Kirishima and Hanta Sero
"Its is a pleasure to be working with you, Shield," Melissa smiles at Yaoyorozu nodding her head in agreement.
"And the first two pairs to do combat will be the following," turning their heads, they all watch as Uncle Might pull out two balls, one stamped with the letter A, the other...letter D, making all of them gasps, "Will be Team A and Team D,"
"All Might… maybe we should do another shuffle," Tsuyu grimaces, her gaze flickering between Bakugou and Pax, "Bakugou had tried to attack Pax already yesterday…"
"Its fine," they all turn their gaze to Pax, who was keeping her eyes on Bakugou, "Its better this way, get it out of the way before he blows up a fuse,"
"What was that Deku?" Bakugou snarls, but Pax just stares at him, with eyes filled with not only annoyance, but filled with exhaustion, "You think you're better than me?"
"When have I ever said that," she whispers, before she shakes her head, "No...its just better that we get this out of the way now. We were going to fight sooner or later and I rather it be sooner," she turns her gaze to Uraraka and Iida, "Sorry for dragging you two in this,"
"It doesn't matter," Uraraka exclaim grabbing Pax's hand, "We're a team now, aren't we. Let's do our best!"
"What Uraraka has stated," Iida smiles before he turns his eyes to Bakugou who was snarling, "And I shall do my best to make sure my...teammate does not go too far,"
"What did you say goggles!?" Bakugou shouts and looked like he was about to lunged at Iida if Uncle Might didn't gabbed him by the collar of his shirt.
Melissa bites at her lips, frowning as Iida sighs, walking over to Kaminari, "You have your phone?" he inquired the cheetah Quirk boy who blinks and nodded, "I… while I trust Pax...my gut is screaming at me that something will go wrong… if something does, call Prime,"
Kaminari gaze turn serious, his eyes narrowing at Bakugou, his tail poofing up, "Got it," he nodded his head at Iida, "I'm glad I asked Electro for all their comlinks… if anything goes wrong, Prime, Bumblebee and Ratchet are the first who I will call,"
Melissa turns her gaze to Jiro who hisses under her breath, "This… I really don't like this,"
"Me neither," Melissa admits, "I hope Pax knows what she is doing,"
Chapter 15 is here! Thank you so much to Twilightna for the description of Kaminari and Izuku's costumes. They are base off fanart of a human cheetor and human Optimus but I have always a hard time describing clothes so thank you so much for the help! And also thank you for the help of Iida's new design. Iida's design is base off of Quicksilver's costume from X-men Evolution while he has the Quicksilver from the fox version movies goggles, just black.
Melissa's costume is base off of Wanda's Scarlet Witch costume from Wandavision, just blue and pink. She has a scouter from Dragon Ball Z, though its base on the one that Tagoma wore in Dragon Ball Z: resurrection F, the double eye version.
Kiba's costume was hard to think of, mostly because I... kinda imagine him as Death the wolf, just with the wings and talons of a eagle... so i gave him Death's pants, and the half torn cape that Kirishima has... if anyone has an idea on what else i can do for him, I am all ears...
Onnen though, I gave him a yellow and silver version of Young Justice Aqualad's first costume. I thought it was fitting. Anyway it is very very late right now, so please give me all the reviews i love them! The next chapter will be the Katsuki vs Izuku! Something I know many of you have been waiting for!
