The episode referenced in this one-shot is Season 2, Episode 2: The Tap-Out Job.
Just a forewarning, all of the one-shots that are based around this episode will either elude to or actually address parts of Pru's past, so stay tuned for that!
Just a note, there are direct word quotes from the episode. A big thanks to the Leverage, Seriously, website, who had posted the pretty accurate transcripts from the entire original series. You can find it at .net

Prompt: "Hey, I didn't kill anyone today!"
"What do you want? A gold star?"
This had been a tough job for Pru. The team had gone to Nebraska to take down a fight manager/recruiter that had drugged a fighter and left him unable to fight. Pru had kept her mouth shut, but this whole situation had a struck a chord with her; one of her cousins had died in a fight just like the ones that Jed Rucker was holding.
Then Eliot had been forced into the ring after Rucker had found the team out, since "you can't hack hick" (that was one of Pru's favorite quotes from Alec). The whole time that the hitter was in the ring, Pru was about five seconds away from a panic attack, even though she knew the plan. That she kept having flashbacks to her cousin in the ring, as well as herself (since she had, single-handedly, taken down that "club" from within) hadn't helped either. After the doctor, Jonny, had declared the other fighter (Tank) dead, Pru had hid a sigh of relief as she'd "calmed" Eliot down (she'd been playing his girlfriend for this con, so she may as well play into it for Rucker).
Now, Alec, who had been tracking Rucker, was speaking up. "Looks like he's headed to Iowa."
Pru smirked from where she sat near Eliot on the edge of the ring. "Make the call."
Their client, Jack Howorth, looked really confused. "What's going on?"
Nate just smirked. "Just give me a second. Doc, you got Tank, right?"
The doctor smirked right back. "Oh, yeah, he'll be fine. Should come around in a few minutes."
Now Jack was really confused. "Wait, wait. He's not dead?"
Jonny shook his head. "Succinylcholine. It's a mild paralytic. It only works for a few minutes."
Parker hopped over to Pru, smiling wide. "Hey, Eliot didn't actually kill anyone today, Pru!"
Pru scoffed and shook her head. "What do you want, Parker? A gold star?"
Jack still wasn't quite grasping it. "So, so, Eliot…"
Nate took over again. "No, no, no. We found the drugged water bottle before the fight and switched it out with a clean one."
Pru nodded. "It would seem that Rucker's not too original when it comes to this sort of thing."
Jack started to smile as he turned back to Jonny. "So, Jonny, you were in on this?"
The doctor nodded. "Mr. Ford and Ms. Beck came and asked me for help. I told them that, around here, we always stand up for our own."
"And where's Rucker?"
Alec chuckled. "Oh, the Iowa State Police just got a tip that a fugitive is headed into their jurisdiction. And I'm pretty sure crossing state lines with a bag full of cash won't look too good."
Parker and Pru shared a look. "Especially when they find the little surprise that Pru and I left in his trunk."
"Do we want to know?"
Pru laughed. "Absolutely not."
