"Onii-chan!"

"What happened to Shido and the others?!"

While fighting the Nibelcoles, Tohka and Kotori noticed that Shido, Miku and Maya suddenly disappeared with Beelzebub.

"We're obviously not gonna tell you."

"Well, maybe we should let you know that you'll probably never see them again."

"Oh my, so horrible."

"But wouldn't it be worse to lie?"

"They call those white lies, right?"

"Hahahaha!"

The Nibelcoles laughed, making fun of Tohka and Kotori's worry.

"Shut up!"

Kotori lost her temper and tried to jump straight into the middle of the Nibelcoles to attack them. Her Spirit CR-Unit, Gevurah, looked like fiery details on her kimono-like plugsuit. Those details seemed to move along with her emotions as if they were actually burning fire, which helped show how angry she was. It also took the form of horn-like things attached to her ribbons.

Of course, getting her to lose her temper and attack recklessly had been the Nibelcoles' aim this entire time.

The girls could put up a fair fight against the Nibelcoles, but even they would be helpless if surrounded. It would mean sacrificing a few bodies, but the sacrifice was relatively low compared to the benefits.

Kotori realized it too late. She could fight off a few Nibelcoles, but she would be defeated eventually. Tohka and the others wouldn't have time to come to her rescue.

"Zafkiel - Bet."

She heard that voice, and then the sounds of a few gunshots. Then, she noticed a few Nibelcoles started moving slower.

Kotori immediately understood what had happened and used this chance to break through.

"Sorry, and thanks, Kurumi."

"Don't worry about it. And don't let them get to you. For now, let's believe that Shido-san and the others are fine."

Although Kurumi was talking to Kotori, Tohka couldn't help but also lend an ear. She couldn't not worry, but for now she had to focus on the job she was given.

They might not know what was happening with Shido and the others or where Beelzebub took them, but their job hadn't changed. They'll continue to fight off the Nibelcoles, shaving off their numbers as much as possible.

"Hey, she said Zafkiel right?"

"So the Sephira is Binah, right?"

"Father said it's really rare to find someone that's compatible with it."

"So that means she would be compatible with Satariel as well, right?"

"Hey hey, how about a deal?"

"You come with us and we'll let everyone go."

Although she didn't understand it, it seemed that Kurumi's Sephira interested the Nibelcoles for whatever reason.

Normally, this is where someone would get tempted. The safety of their allies is being offered to them, all they have to do is accept the enemy's demands.

But, that was not the case for Kurumi.

"I refuse."

Kurumi continued to fight, and so did the others.

There really wasn't any need to think about it. There was no way the Nibelcoles, or whoever was behind them, was up to any good. And besides, they were already trying to save the Demon Kings, why would they go through the trouble of adding more people to their list?

"Kaka, already making peace offerings? Have we cornered you so much?"

"Agreement. Things are much different from last time."

Kaguya and Yuzuru were making quick work of the approaching Nibelcoles. One thrust of Kaguya's lance and one swing of Yuzuru's pendulum was all it took. It would have looked quite gruesome if the Nibelcoles bled, but instead they just disappeared into particles of light.

Their moves were perfectly synched, as if they were dancing a dance they had practiced for a long time. Although there was an absurd number of Nibelcoles trying to attack the twins, they weren't having a hard time.

"Tsk. What's up with this?"

"No other way around it."

"Let's call on some support."

The Nibelcoles stopped trying to fight and began trying to flee. Although the girls had no idea what kind of support they intended to call, it clearly couldn't be good.

"Yoshino-san, Natsumi-san, please don't let them escape."

"G-got it… Zadkiel"

"Yeah… Haniel - Kaleidoscope."

Yoshino, whose Spirit CR-Unit, Chesed, looked like a green hoodie with rabbit ears on top, called on her angel again. She had been using it to shoot out cold air, and while it might not have looked like much, the Nibelcoles that had their limbs frozen would disagree with that statement.

Now, instead of doing that, Yoshino spread her Territory as far as she could, and that was now an area of about a kilometer in diameter. She began trying to freeze the Nibelcoles while keeping her allies intact.

But she didn't have enough output, and that's where Natsumi came in. Her Haniel was able to copy other Angels. She had first copied Kurumi's Zafkiel to use her bullets to slow down the Nibelcoles or speed up her allies, and now she was copying Yoshino's Zadkiel.

Natsumi's Spirit CR-Unit, Netzach, was composed of a witch hat, an orange shawl with star-like patterns on it, and a miniskirt with bat-like extensions on the side.

Natsumi's Territory was able to reach a little further than Yoshino's, and she focused on stopping the Nibelcoles' escape, rather than freezing them. Thanks to their teamwork, The Nibelcoles were unable to escape and, with each passing second, they felt like their very existence was being frozen.

Of course, the Nibelcoles wouldn't simply accept their fate. They made use of their numbers to try and push the Territories from all sides, which put considerable strain on Yoshino and Natsumi.

"Gah!"

"Kuh!"

But of course, there was no need for the girls to simply sit still and do nothing about it as well. Origami and Tohka took care of the Nibelcoles that were trying to push their way through the ice field.

"Damn it! Helkivtut!"

The remaining Nibelcoles called out that name, and an armor made of what appeared to be paper surrounded their bodies. Although it did not look very protective, Origami and Tohka didn't feel like risking it, considering the Nibelcoles now seemed unaffected by the ice field.

"Don't get ahead of yourselves."

"You might be using the Sephiras' powers, but you're not proper Spirits."

"Even with everything you've got, you can just barely compete with us."

"We'll show you the difference between us."

The Nibelcoles seemed to be getting angry. However, they weren't the only ones.

One of them burst into flames, so she took off her Helkivtut, but had to quickly re-equip it to escape the ice field's effects.

Near her was Kotori.

"What? You didn't know paper was flammable?"

Kotori's Territory couldn't grow too big in this state, which made the Nibelcoles that stepped inside burst into flames, but that wasn't a problem. After all, she fully intended to chase them.

And so, with a battle axe that was even bigger than she was, Kotori began to chase the Nibelcoles. Laughing, Kurumi occasionally shot at them, blocking their path or slowing them down.

Of course, Tohka and Origami soon joined the hunt.

"They're tougher with this armor, but we can handle it together."

"Umu! Let's do it!"

"Kukuku, my other half, let us show them that their armor is as good as paper in front of the children of hurricane."

"Agreement. Yuzuru and Kaguya won't lose when it comes to combination."

The sword Sandalphon and Metatron in the shape of a spear worked together to pierce through the Nibelcoles' paper armor. The Yamai twins also worked together to defeat any Nibelcoles they could.

Kotori didn't need much help. A few strikes of her axe was enough, since the Nibelcoles burst into flames when she got near.

Only Kurumi was having some difficulty defeating the Nibelcoles, but that was also no problem. Since she didn't have enough firepower to defeat them, she relegated herself to a support role. Her shadow bullets, capable of speeding up or slowing down whatever they hit, were more than enough to create an even bigger chaos in the battlefield.

"Tsk, we'll show you."

"Don't you think we're beaten just yet."

The Nibelcoles created weapons of paper. Swords, spears, shields, and such. Again, much like the paper armor, they didn't look dangerous, but no one felt like testing to see if it worked the same way as normal paper.

While a number of Nibelcoles clashed against the girls, another group flew upwards and created paper airplanes. Their target was clear.

Yoshino and Natsumi couldn't move while they kept the ice field active, making them easy targets for the Nibelcoles' paper airplanes. And, once they were taken care of, the battle would quickly turn in the Nibelcoles' favor.

And so, they threw the paper airplanes at the girls. Obviously, Yoshino and Natsumi were quite worried and considered letting the ice field die out so they could escape.

However, there was no need for that.

Kaguya and Yuzuru landed near the two and created a barrier of wind. Their wind had already been enough to send the paper airplanes off course with a normal CR-Unit. Now that they had Hod, their wind was basically an impenetrable barrier, even for these deadly airplanes.

… Well, it was a bit too exaggerated and created some needless chaos in the battlefield by sending the Nibelcoles' paper airplanes flying everywhere, but the twins were too high on adrenaline to notice that.

"Hmph, our wind is an impregnable fortress. We'll protect the maidens of ice."

"Translation. We'll protect Yoshino and Natsumi, everyone, please keep your focus on your jobs."

Yoshino and Natsumi looked at each other and then nodded. Now that they didn't have to worry about defending themselves, they could focus all they had into the ice field.

"Let's do it, Yoshino."

"Yes, we'll freeze them in place…"

Now that these two were putting everything they had into it, the Nibelcoles' paper armor was no longer enough to protect them from the ice field. They didn't instantly freeze over, but their movements were slower than normal.

"Don't be afraid! If you want to warm up, just come over!"

Between the horn-like decoration on her ribbons and the flames, Kotori looked like some kind of demon. And to the Nibelcoles, she might as well be.

The Nibelcoles, who looked unbeatable when they showed up with Tenka two months ago, were now being hunted like prey. Yes, they were putting up a fair fight, but as things stood, it was only a matter of time before the ones inside the ice field were eliminated.

However, the most important part of that phrase was "as thing stood."

"Baal"

After everyone heard that voice, there was a flash of light, then the ice field turned into a wind field. Natsumi could have changed Haniel into Raphael, but Yoshino didn't have much compatibility with wind, and it would be hard for her to control it by herself. The Yamai twins weren't able to react in time either.

In other words, the field that previously enclosed the battlefield was now open.

Looking towards the voice, they saw two women. One was dressed in a witch-like costume and had long green hair, though about half of its length seemed to have gone white. The other was the blue haired woman Kaguya and Yuzuru had seen on their first mission in the Neighboring World.

There was no need to ask, these two were Demon Kings. They had come to rescue the Nibelcoles and Beelzebub.

Things had just taken a very dire turn.
