Max went to Spoonerville Park on Boxing Day 1996. He was wearing his new brown coat, his new dark blue woolly hat and his new orange scarf, all which were three of his Christmas presents he received this year, over his usual clothes that he wore. He sat on a park bench and waited for his girlfriend Lisa to meet him there. As he waited, he enjoyed watching the people have fun in the snow-covered park. Some had snowball fights, some were sleighing or snow tubing and some were ice skating on the solid ice on the completely frozen giant pond.

Then Max saw Lisa in the park and approaching him. She was wearing a black coat, pink gloves, a pink woolly hat and a purple scarf over her normal clothes. He never seen them before. That made him think they were some of her new presents she got for this Christmas.

"Hi, Max," Lisa greeted. "Happy Christmas."

"Happy Christmas, Lisa," Max greeted, as he rose from the bench.

Then they hugged and kissed each other. Then they went to the park's small cafe where Max had a cup of coffee and Lisa had a cup of hot chocolate. They both enjoyed their warm and tasty drinks.

"So, did you have an awesome Christmas, Max?" Lisa asked.

"I sure did, Lisa," Max said. Then he told her about the wonderful Christmas he had with Goofy. They both enjoyed opening their wonderful presents from their family and friends, including the new winter clothes that Max was wearing today, and they were very grateful for them. Then they enjoyed their Christmas dinner that Goofy cooked. It was small and a little burnt, but it was still delicious and they were very grateful for it. Then they enjoyed their special Christmas games, which included charades and twenty questions, and they enjoyed singing some Christmas carols, even if Goofy sang some of the wrong lyrics.

"So, how was your Christmas, Lisa?" Max asked, after he finished explaining his Christmas to her.

Then Lisa told Max about her Christmas. She did get some good presents, including the new winter clothes she was wearing today, and the Christmas dinner was delicious. While she was grateful for all of those, she didn't really enjoy the actual Christmas Day. Her family didn't interact with her much, apart from the presents and the dinner, and even when they did interact with her, it was still horrible, even by Christmas standards. For most of the day, they did their own things and she spent most of the day all by herself. They didn't even want to play Christmas games or sing carols with her, despite Christmas was meant to be about being with family.

"Or with friends," Max said. "Or with a very special girlfriend."

Lisa chuckled. "Or with a very special boyfriend."

Then they kissed each other on the lips. Then they went back out to the park. They had a very fun snowball fight and then they went to rent some snow tubes and did a lot of snow tubing on the hills and then they went to the park's pond, rented some ice-skating shoes and did some ice skating on it. Neither of them did any ice skating since the school ski trip in January, but they were glad that they were still good at it and Max still liked doing it, especially when he did with Lisa, who taught him how to ice skate better. If it wasn't for her, he wouldn't be interested in it at all, let alone improve his skills.

After two hours of having a lot of fun on the ice, Max asked Lisa if she wanted to spend time with him back at his house. As she had nothing else to do for the rest of the day and she wanted to spend time away from her family as much as she could, she gladly accepted his invitation.

"Hiya, kids," Goofy greeted, as he saw Max and Lisa enter the warm house.

"Hey, Dad," Max greeted, taking off his hat, scarf and coat.

"Hi, Mr. Goof," Lisa greeted, taking off her hat, gloves, scarf and coat.

"Wanna stay for dinner tonight, Lisa?" Goofy asked. "I just got some leftovers from our delicious Christmas dinner ready."

"Oh, yes, please, Mr. Goof," Lisa said. "I'd like that very much."

So she and Max sat down at the kitchen table and Goofy served them some leftovers from the Christmas dinner yesterday. Lisa could see that Max wasn't kidding about the food being a little bit burnt, but she enjoyed eating them and she enjoyed talking to Max and Goofy. They were always better company to her than her own family ever was.

Then after dinner, Max, Goofy and Lisa went into the sitting room where there was a nice warm fire and they had fun playing Christmas games including charades and twenty questions, the same Christmas games that Goofy and Max played yesterday, and sung a few classic Christmas carols and other Christmas songs, including Powerline's Christmas hit song, Snow of Goodness.

Then Max and Lisa had a Christmas gift they needed to give each other and they could only give it to each other in Max's room so they went up to it. Her parents were on vacation in the Alps with the rest of the family and there was no room for her to go with them, so she had to stay behind in Spoonerville. And Chloe was on a skiing vacation with her family in Colorado, so she couldn't spend New Year's Eve with her. Lisa was very worried that she would have to spend New Year's Eve and New Year's Day all by herself, but she was glad now that she didn't and that she could spend them with Max.

Soon there was only one minute of 1996 left. Everyone in the park looked up to see the face of Spoonerville's massive clock tower in the heart of the town and watched the countdown.

Soon, the last ten seconds of 1996 arrived and everyone started to count down.

"Ten… nine… eight… seven… six… five… four… three… two… one."

Then everyone cheered when the new year of 1997 finally arrived. Then they all sang the Auld Lang Syne song as they watched massive and colorful fireworks in the night sky. Then they all wished everyone a happy new year. Then it was time to head back home.

"Well, this has been totally awesome, Max," Lisa said. "See you at school."

Then Max remembered about Lisa being all alone on New Year's Day while her family were skiing in the alps. Then he had an idea and then he ran after her. "Hey, Lisa!"

Lisa stopped walked and turned to face Max. "Yes, Max?"

"I've been thinking. If you like, I can stay at my place tonight. That way, you won't be all alone on New Year's Day."

Lisa quickly thought about it and then gave Max a smile. "I totally accept your invitation, Max. Thanks."
