"Kensi, I need you for a few minutes," Nell said as Eric gathered up his tablet and everyone else stood to leave. "To check your comm, remember?"

Of course Nell wouldn't forget. They both knew there wasn't anything wrong with her comm, but Nell would play out this charade for a chance to interrogate Kensi.

"Right. I'll meet you outside," Kensi told Deeks.

"Alrighty. Nice to see you again, Nell," he said, winking at Nell. She offered him a big, bright smile in return.

"You too, Deeks. When this is all over, we'll have to go out," she said. Kensi felt a spark of jealousy at the suggestion.

"Just as long as it's not a strip club."

"No promises."

They heard his answering chuckle as he walked out the door.

"Do you need any help?" Eric asked.

"Nope, I think I've got it. Here, let me see your comms."

Kensi produced them with a barely suppressed sigh.

"So, how's it going with Deeks?"

"I've got it handled," Kensi assured her.

"I bet you've been handling him," Nell commented, her face concealed by her hair as she examined the comm. Kensi heard the smile in her voice though.

"Nell Jones!"

"What? I just meant that you clearly work well together, which usually isn't the case with LAPD," Nell defended herself. Inclining her head, she added, "Though he is undeniably hot and I would completely understand if you had a hard time resisting him prancing around in tiny shorts and skin tight pants."

"I think you've spent too much time up in OPS all by yourself," Kensi diverted.

"I have Eric to keep me company. As well as the audio from your nights out. Though a very intricate description of Deeks' trademark routine would be even better."

"You are out of control."

"Well, you know what would help?" Nell asked, rounding on Kensi unexpectedly. "Tell me what happened for the eight minutes and seventeen seconds while you were off-line." She pointed her finger accusingly at Kensi's chest. "And don't try that "there must have been interference" line on me. Eric and I personally tested all of your tech before we gave it to you. What happened?"

"Nell—"

"Do we need to move this to the interrogation room?"

"You're being ridiculous," Kensi sighed. She pinched the bridge of her nose. "Ok, I turned my comm off."

"I knew it!"

"Because Deeks was taking me up to a private room and I didn't want you guys to hear whatever happened." She saw Nell's eyes widen. "Don't get so excited; he just wanted a safe place to talk. There aren't cameras or mics in the private rooms."

"Oh." Lips scrunching in disappointment, Nell crossed her arms. "That's all?"

"No," Kensi whispered before she could stop herself.

"What?" Nell gasped. "Did he kiss you? Please tell me he kissed you. Like I know he kissed you the first night as part of your cover, but did he kiss you just because he wanted to?"

Figuring that she was in this far, Kensi admitted. "I kissed him." She felt a strange sense of relief at the revelation.

"Ok, I need all the details."

"You're not getting them."

"You're killing my, Kens," Nell groaned. "Did you talk about it?"

"Of course not." Kensi snorted. "I'm pretending it didn't happen."

"That seems reasonable. It's not like you're really into him or anything.

Kensi shot her a glare, fiddling with her thumbnail as a sudden wave of self-consciousness came over her.

"Maybe you should ask him out if you're so into him," she shot back. Nell gave her a gentle look.

"Kensi. I would never, ever make a move on a guy you're interested in. I'm not that kind of friend. Secondly, he's hot, but I see him more in the realm of cool, older brother figure than suitor."

"Then why do you keep flirting with him?" Kensi demanded.

"Because it's fun when you get jealous. And he has a great smile."

"Yeah, he does," Kensi agreed softly.

"So, you're going to go talk to him about?"

"I don't know. You know how bad I am with guys. I don't want my issues to ruin anything.

"Wow, you really like him, don't you?" Nell said with another massive grin.

"Shut up," Kensi snapped back, but couldn't quite be angry with Nell.

A/N: I hope you enjoy this version of Nell. She's a little bit more uninhibited than canon Nell.
