I'm surprised that I've made it to chapter 5 honestly. It's actually kinda satisfying finishing a chapter. What surprises me is how many people are keeping up with the fanfic so far. Thank you all for favoriting and following. If you can please recommend to others as well.

Chapter 5: Tea and Guidance
Izuku and his mother sat at a bar like counter with Iroh standing behind said counter. The elderly man began the process of making a fresh pot of tea. Both the greenettes watched in interest as he placed various leafs and herbs into a wire ball. There is a red tea pot sitting on a small burner stove next to them. Iroh points a finger at the top of the stove and carefully turns the gas on. To the surprise of Izuku, a small flame appears above the man's fingertip.
As the tea boiled, Iroh took out a stool of his own and sat infront of the pair. He smiled gently and looked at Inko while gesturing to Izuku.
"So this is little Izuku that you told me about, Ms. Midoriya?"
Inko returned the smile kindly.
"Please, call me Inko. Yes, my son here has a quirk similar to yours."
Iroh nods. He scratches his bearded chin in thought.
"Ah, gifted with the power to create flames. That indeed is a two edged sword."
Izuku tilted his head at what the elderly man said. Iroh saw the confused look on the boy. The tea pot starting to boil and he opened the top to add the wired ball into the water.
"If I am to be your counselor and teacher, you must understand something very important, Izuku."
The boy nodded, his full attention on the man making tea. There is something about him that gives off a feeling of peace.
"Someone very important to me has said something that I hold to a high regard. Fire is very powerful and dangerous. It causes harm, destruction, and leaves nasty scars."
Letting the pot sit for a moment, Iroh takes out three traditional tea cups. He pours honey and puts a small stick of cinnamon in each cup while talking.
"If left alone, fire will spread and cause misery. We as fire users are very dangerous, my boy."
Izuku wasn't expecting to hear that. Up till this point, he was so excited about manifesting his quirk that he forgot it could be dangerous. Iroh put on an oven mit with a picture of a duck with a turtle shell. He took the tea pot and poured their cups. To the Midoriya's surprise, the tea made was just enough to fill each cup.
"That being said, we are also very powerful. We have just as much power to protect as we do to destroy. Remember that Izuku."
Izuku payed attention to every word that Iroh said. His young mind didn't fully understand what he meant but understood that he has to be careful.
"I think I get it mister. I promise to be careful with my quirk."
Iroh smiles at Izuku and takes a sip of his tea. Inko sat in silence occasionally sipping her tea. To be honest, it's probably the best tea she has ever had. Izuku took a small sip and gasped.
"This tea is so good!"
He then starting drinking the tea rapidly to the amusement of Inko and Iroh.
"Alright then, please follow me."
Iroh got up from his stool and walked around the counter to a door on the left side of the building. He opened the door and let the greenettes in first. The door lead to the outside dojo. There are various training tools around the yard.
"waoh, it looks really cool out here."
Izuku said. He walked go the middle of the dojo and spun around slowly to look at everything.
"If it's not trouble, I'd like to see what you can do Izuku."
The boy nodded and steadied himself. Making sure his mom and Iroh weren't too close he closed his eyes. After taking a breath he threw two sloppy punches and a sloppy kick. The punches had small flames following each swing and sent a small wave of fire just above his fists. The kick though slowy had little fire from the swing. Izuku then fall to his knees taking in deep breaths.
Iroh and Inko were at the boy's side in an instant. Inko went into full mother mode, making sure Izuku is okay. Iroh, respecting the mother let her check on Izuku but stayed just behind incase of emergency. Once Izuku got his breathing down he spoke slowly.
"This...happens ..a ...a lot."
Iroh nodded and stroked his beard.
"Yes, it appears that your flames are fueled through your breathing and stamina."
Inko kept at her son's side. She had never seen Izuku so winded before and it scared her. Her son eventually stood back up. His face full of determination.
"I will keep getting better no matter what."
He said softly. His eyes though young, showed a feirce flame. Iroh nodded again. He pointed to the dojo that's inside with paper walls.
"In order to graduate from my school you must be able to perform the dragon fire dance inside that paper dojo. The catch is that you must not ignite anything while doing the dance."
Izuku looked at the paper dojo with shock. It looked like a small match could bring the whole thing down.
"What is the dragon fire dance?"
He asked curiously. Iroh smiled at the question.
"That is a lesson for a later time. For now lets try something."
Iroh stood in front of Izuku and knelt down. The man held out his hand. For a moment there was nothing but then a flame appeared just above his palm. Izuku stared into the fire.
"Focus on the fire. Feel its warmth and power. Now try to take it into your own hands."
Inko wanted to intervene. The man literally told her baby to reach for fire! But she did nothing. The man is obviously a professional fire user. Plus, he doesn't give any ill intentions. She watched as her son tried to reach for the flame.
Izuku's hand touches the flame and to the surprise of Iroh, the fire changes color. The fire then jumps to Izuku's hand. The orange and red flames become blue and green. A few seconds go by then the fire goes back to the original colors.
"Woah, what happened?"
Izuku asked. The flame in his hand goes out. Iroh strokes his beard again.
"Very interesting. Tell me Izuku. Why do you want to do in the future?"
Both Izuku and Inko look at the elderly man.
"I want to be a hero who can save everyone with a smile!"
Iroh thought for a moment. This boy has great potential based on the look in his eyes. The only thing is that its gonna be hell conditioning his body to handle the drawbacks of his quirk. He will ponder on this.
"Alright my boy, I will let you train at my dojo cafe. You show great potential in becoming a capable hero. Just promise me that you will use what you learn for self defense and protection only."
The boy nodded. He never wants to hurt anyone just for the fun of it.
"I promise Mr. Iroh! I will work hard for everyone."
Inko turned her head to the side. She tried to secretly wipe away a proud tear that fell. Her son's drive to always do good made her such a proud mother. Iroh have her a gentle nod and smile.
The trio continued on with the tour of the dojo cafe. Iroh informed the Midoriya's about the other students and teachers that came to the place. Iroh explained how he and others help youngsters to master their quriks and counsel them for the futures they want. Inko was very impressed at the help the dojo cafe provides.
"And thus concludes the tour of my business. do you have any questions?"
Inko sheepishly raised her hand.
"How much is this gonna cost exactly? I don't mean to be rude but I heard this place is very affordable."
Waving his hand, Iroh gave a genuine smile.
"We like to work with our customers and come up with a plan that benefits both parties. If little Izuku here can help around the dojo cafe like some of my other students, the payment is less than original price depending on how often and what he helps with."
Izuku smiled happily. If he can make things easier on his mom, he'll gladly do it.
"Yeah, I can help with whatever you want! If it helps momma then I'll work super hard."
The adults smiles and agreed on the decision. The paperwork was done at the bar counter with more servings of delicious tea. Inko would have to ask for the recipe. Once everything was finalized everyone stood at the entrance of the dojo cafe.
"Thank you for your patience with the enrollment. I am very happy to have you as a new student Izuku. I hope to see you grow and become strong."
Both Midoriya's bowed in respect. Iroh gave a pleasent nod and they separated.
"Momma, where did you hear about this place? It's really cool!"
Into smiled happily at her son's good mood.
"I'm glad you like it Izuku. I heard about it from Mitsuki. She's thinking of taking Katsuki there as well."
Izuku almost tripped over his own feet after hearing his mother say that.
"...huh?"
-Midoriya Apartment-
Izuku sat on his bed while looking out the window. His first day of couneling would be tomorrow morning. This excited him so much that he is practically shaking in bed. The downside is that his ex friend might be there as well. Taking a breath, he slowly let it out. He felt the energy in his body start to calm down. Sleep slowly took the boy as he thought of the many ways to use his flame.
Inko stood in the kitchen putting the dishes away. She made miso soup for dinner which Izuku ate a large portion of. The meeting had gone a lot better than she thought it would have. Her heart swelled at Izuku jumping at the opportunity to help lessen the pay of counseling. Her baby surely is one of the best people in the world. As she was about to head to her room for the night, the phone rang.
Wondering who would be calling at thid hour, she went over to the phone. She cleared her throat before answering the call. Before she could talk a voice she hasn't heard in a long time spoke.
"Hello dear, it's been so lo-"
Inko didn't let the man finish.
"Hisashi?!? What happened to you!?"
She immediately covered her mouth. Not wanting to wake up Izuku, she went to the otherside of the apartment into the kitchen.
"Inko, I'm so sorry. There are things I haven't told you. I never wanted to leave but it had to be done."
Inko couldn't believe it. Three years have gone by with no word and suddenly he calls. Her eyes started go tear up.
"What's goin on Hisashi? Please come back home. Lot's of things have happened since you've been gone."
Her voice is shaky with small sobs. She can hear Hisashi take a shaky breath as well.
"We need to talk in person my love. I don't have much time. Don't tell Izuku about this please."
Her eyes shot open. Why didn't he want to see Izuku?
"Wait, why don't you want to talk to your son? He thinks your in America still."
There was a short pause before he spoke.
"A boy shouldn't have to see his father die. Inko, I'm badly hurt. Please come to the park where we first met."
The call ended. Inko almost dropped her phone.
'What is happening? what does he mean?'
She couldn't think straight. Being as silent but quick as she could, she grabbed a coat and a flash light for the small trip. Approaching the front door, she turned her head towards Izuku's room. She quietly opens and exits the door. Once outside her legs start to move as fast as they could. Once the park came into view she knew where to go.
-Flashback-
A twenty year old Inko is standing under the shade of a large tree. Catching her breath, Mitsuki ran up to her breathing heavily.
"Ha, I told you that I would win!"
Cheered the greenette. She falls to her knees in exhaustion.
"Maybe I just felt bad for you and let you win, huh?"
Inko giggled and looked around the park. The sun is shining nice and bright makinh the grass almost glow.
"Betcha I can beat you to the ice cream stand!"
Mitsuki shouted already taking off.
"Hey no fair!"
Inko shouted before getting up and running after her friend. Unfortunately for her as she ran past the tree, she didnt see another person running by. They crashed into each other and fell on opposite sides.
"owww..."
They both whined before looking at each other. Green eyes met a light velvet and it clicked. The man instantly stood up and helped her up as well.
"I am so sorry! Are you alright? Are you hurt? Do you need a doctor?"
He frantically asked. This made Inko giggle at first then laugh. The man looked confused for a moment then joined in on the laughing.
"Thank you for helping me up. I'm fine as well thanks.
She got a good look at him. His face is angled and sharp. His velvet eyes had white in the middle which threw her off a bit but they looked nice. His hair was probably the most eye catching. Black with velvet tips, made it look like black fire.
"Where are my manners, it's nice to meet you. My name is Hisashi Kamado"
-End of Flashback-
Inko made it to the tree that she met the love of her life. She saw two figures kneeling next to something on the ground. Once she got closer she realized it's Hisashi laying on a diy medical bed. She gasped at seeing his condition. Despite all the few years that have gone by and the bandages covering his body, she could easily recognize him. The two figures watched her closely as she got closer but backed off when the downed man said to.
"Hisashi, what happened to you?"
She knelt down beside him. Her eyes are full of tears. The look on her face broke the man's heart. His condition is bad. Bandages covered his chest where blood could be seen leaking through. There is a bandage wrapped around his head covering a cut that can be seen going down his face. The most notable damage being his missing hand at the wrist.
"Inko, I'm so sorry. I never wanted to leave our family behind."
His voice is growing weaker. Each breath he took seemed to be his only focus other than talking.
"I left to protect our family from an ancient evil that has plagued humanity for centuries. I couldn't live with myself if anything would of happened to you or our son."
He turned his head to the side and coughed violently, blood being spit out. Inko didn't know what to do or think. She held on to the one hand that her love had left.
"We won, my love. We beat the bastard finally. So many of our comrades lost but not in vain."
He looked Inko in the eyes with love and affection.
"How is Izuku doing? I tried to keep up with him and you from afar but it's different than actually talking to you."
Inko started to cry more. She thought that he had disappeared because of Izuku being quirkless. To know he still loves them is such a relief. She held his hand tightly and tried harder.
"Our son is the most precious thing. He recently got his quirk and its similar to yours. He can manipulate fire like how you breath it. It takes a lot out of him though so we went to a counselor to help."
Hisashi nodded in pride. To be honest, he didn't care if Izuku was quirkless or not. He will always love his son no matter what.
"He's so kind and caring, Hisashi. Even with his quirk he still wants to help everyone he can. His dream is to become a pro hero. I honestly fear him going out into the feild but I know he's destined for great things. I can see it in the way he smiles."
The man let the tears he's been holding back fall finally. His son is being the best he can be and a father couldn't ask for anything more. His vision started go get dark. He coughed again before speaking in a weaker voice.
"That's my boy. Funny how being a hero basically runs in the family. I wish I could see all the great things he'll accomplish."
Inko laid her head against his stomach and cried harder. Hisashi placed his hand in her hand to play with her hair.
"I always kept you two in my mind. It helped me and gave me strength to push through all my battles. I understand if you or Izuku have hate for me. I hope that one day he'll understand the events that occured."
The greenette looked at the man with anything but hatred. There is sadness, lonelyness, confusion, but most importantly, love.
"I love you so much Hisashi, dont you ever question that. Izuku will come around as well. He's very smart for his age and will understand."
The red haired man smiles brightly at her words. He could feel that his time is drawing go an end.
"And I love you Inko Midoriya, with all my heart. You and Izuku are the best things to have ever happened to me."
With that the man's hand fell from Inko's hair.
Chapter 5 has come to an end my friends. I bet that none of you were expecting me to kill off Izuku's dad haha. It wasn't in the plans at first but I managed to wiggle it in. I hope that you all are enjoying the story. I'm practing with the dialogue as you can probably tell. Its still a work in progress. Please RR and thank you for reading.
