Hiya everyone, new chapter coming in hot! I hope that whoever reading is enjoying the story so far. It takes me a lil bit of time to go back and do small research for the characters and some of the plot. I'm happy to see that there are likes and favorites for the story. This chapter opens up with a time skip so hopefully that doesn't bother too many people.

Chapter 7: The Truth

A few months have passed since Izuku started training at The Jasmine Dragon. He wasn't going to lie, it has been hell. Mr. Lee would work him and the other students into the ground. Everyday after school, Inko will meet Izuku outside of the school and they'd walk to the cafe. While Izuku trained, Inko ran errands or got groceries for dinner that night. She noticed that Izuku would be dead tired by the time she got back to pick him up.

-Inside the Cafe-

The physical training had ended for the day and thus started Iroh's lessons on tea brewing. Not many of the students were interested in these lessons and often chose to either go home or train more once the physical lessons/exercise were done. Izuku, along with a few other students sat at the bar like table and watched as Iroh took out different tea leaves and herbs that looked to be in different stages.

"You want to be very careful in selecting the leaves and herbs you use for brewing. One time I found a beautiful flower that I thought was the rare white dragon bush. It's leaves are known to make a tea so delicious that it's heart breaking."

The man spoke with much passion in his voice that it made Izuku and the others lean in to hear the story better. Then Iroh sagged his shoulder and tried to hide a sheepish smile.

"Unfortunately, the plant was actually the white jade bush which is poisonous."

The students let out a small chuckle.

"But how did you survive the poison, Mr. Iroh?"

Izuku asked curiously. He had been watching the way that Iroh selected the leaves and herbs, his mind going over each detail. Iroh let out a big laugh and wiped his eye.

"My nephew tried taking me to a hospital to get treated, but back then we lived on the country side. It was probably luck that a pro hero was in the area helping out the wounded. She kissed my forhead and the poison in my body wasn't as effective as it had been before. Eventually it left my system and I got better within a couple days."

This caused the students to cheer but Izuku suddenly jumped up.

"There's only one hero known to heal by giving them a kiss! Was the hero that saved you 'The Youthful Hero: Recovery Girl?!"

He said excitedly. The other students looked at him surprised by his outburst but then focused on Iroh again, waiting for his answer. The man gave another hearty laugh.

"You are correct Izuku, she saved my life that day."

-Five Years Into Training-

Izuku stood in line with his peers as they watched Iroh perform the Dragon Fire Dance inside the paper dojo. (instead of two people doing half the dance and meeting in the middle, one person does both dances while fully going around) The man moved with such swiftness and speed for his age. Each stance flowed smoothly to the next. . As Iroh moved, he made flames so precise that they didn't effect the paper at all. Izuku watched with analytical eyes and thought they were playing tricks on him.

'Why are his flames turning into different colors? Do the others not see them? They aren't reacting to it at all.'

The dance ended with Iroh in a stance that has his feet shoulder length and knees bent. His body leaning so he's almost vertical. Both arms are stretch out closed fist. The flames that came from his fists shot out but instead of going forward, they stopped and surrounded the man like he had hit a wall and the flames were bounceing off of it. The display made Izuku almost shed a tear at how beautiful it was.

-Four Years Later-

Izuku sat in class lost in thought. The teacher is giving some speach about how their middle school career is almost done and that they better have good plans for the future. Suddenly, a loud voice cuts off said teacher and everyone looks at the source.

"Don't compare me to these extras teach! I'm aiming for the number one hero spot while the rest of kf them are gonna be nobodies!"

This of course causes the class to shout at Katsuki on annoyance. One glare from his angry red eyes had them quiet in no time.

"Ah, yes Katsuki. You're applying for U.A so don't make the others feel bad."

The fact that the teacher didn't scold him didn't bother anyone as the class was used to it. Instead they were surprised that he's applying for the top hero school in Japan.

"Huh, aren't you planning the same thing Izuku?"

Asked the teacher. Izuku looked up in mock betrayal. Once Katsuki heard that, he glared daggers at the other boy. The blonde had stopped picking on Izuku since he now gets scolded. Ever since Izuku development his quirk, everyone treated him better. Izuku didn't know how to feel about it. It always nagged at him in back of his mind. Especially since everyone knows he's gotten better with his quirk.

"Y- yes sir."

Is all the boy said. Everyone looked at Katsuki and Izuku, one being the class powerhouse and the other known as Deku. The bell rang signifying the end of the day. All the students packed up their belongings and started heading home. Izuku stayed behind for a few minutes to make sure the notes he took for the day were organized. Small explosions made him look up in worry. Katsuki stood at the door giving him the same glare as before.

"Park, now."

The boy growled out. Izuku gave him a surprised look. In his mind, he already knew what the blonde wants. He's felt it boiling up for a while now and to be honest, he's surprised at how long said blonde held out.

"I don't want to fight you Kaachan."

Is all Izuku said. He looked at the blonde with not friendship, but kindess. This only angers Katsuki more. He stomps over to Izuku, who flinches a bit.

"Why not? Are you scared you'll lose like when we were kids, huh?"

Izuku tilted his head to the side looking at Katsuki. He will not fight for revenge or in anger. Iroh taught him better then that.

-Flash Back: Training Four Years Ago-

Izuku sat with Iroh inside the paper dojo. The boy mentioned that he could see different colors of fire when he saw the dance. Iroh's face showed shock for a moment then faded into a proud smile.

"Izuku, you are indeed an interesting one. It sounds like you are more connected to the spiritual side than others, just like me."

Izuku didn't know what to say, so instead he listened. Iroh nodded in appreciation.

"The spiritual world is something that few can fathom. It guides and teaches us in ways we'd never expect. You must never demand from them as they are our guide."

-End of Flash Back-

Izuku stood up from his desk and looked at Katsuki. The blonde is slightly surprised that the other boy doesn't back away in fear. There is silence for a moment before Izuku spoke.

"Why do you want to fight all of a sudden?"

The question is simple. To anyone else, it would have been a reasonable question. To Katsuki, it was a challenge to his pride. The blonde took a step back and pointed at the door.

"Cause' I want to show you that I'm still better than you!"

It took Izuku a moment to think of a response.

"Why do you want to prove anything? I've done nothing to bother you since we were kids. Yet you choose to still pick on me."

Katsuki slammed his hands on Izuku's desk. Smoke rose up from the burn wood as small explosions popped off. The look of anger bothered Izuku a bit.

"Stop acting like you're better than me! Ever since I saw you at that stupid tea shop you've been acting different. You go around being so nice when you're so damn weak. You're just a useless Deku!"

Izuku's eye twitches slightly. He doesn't mind people insulting him, but when it came to people he cared about, he will say something.

"That's enough kaachan. You don't even know anyone at The Jasmine Dragon. They are the most talented people I've ever met."

Grinning a bit, Katsuki leaned back from the desk. He seemed to be enjoying this again. His red eyes glinted a bit. It annoyed him that Izuku didn't acknowledge his talent.

"What are they even showing you there? How to be a scaredy cat? Must not be that good if you just want to run and hide."

Izuku clenched his fist. He let out a breath through his nose that released some smoke. Seeing this, Katsuki's grin turned into a smirk.

"I should of known that old geezer wasn't anything special. The place may of looked cool but you're just a bunch of pussi-"

Before Katsuki finished his sentence, Izuku slammed his own fist on the desk. His green eyes showed anger.

"Let's go then."

In the back of Izuku's mind, he knew that he shouldn't fight the blonde. But he's just a fourteen year old boy with raw emotions. Sometimes you just can't control these things. The two left the school, making their way to the park. They walked in silence, the only sounds being the world around them. Izuku walked behind Katsuki watching his every step.

Once they made it to the park they started to stretch. Neither one cared about the damage about to be done to their middle school uniforms. When they finished they got into their stances a few feet apart from each other. Izuku thought about how to handle the fight.

'I don't want to hurt him, but he's not gonna hold back. Maybe if i just evade and counter he'll start to understand...or he'll just try even harder."

Izuku got into a stance that he remembered Mr. Lee showing him. His legs are slightly bent with his left foot being slightly more forward than his right. His arms are low infront of him with arms slightly bent and palms half open. A loose fighting stance that allows one to adapt to most straightforward attacks. This catches Katsuki by surprise.

"So the little Deku does look like you can fight."

Izuku says nothing. Katsuki's stance is as expected with a quirk like his. his legs are bent with his feet being shoulder length apart. His torso is leaning forward with his arms bent at his sides and palms facing up. They stay in their stances for a moment and gauge each other. Katsuki is blinded by rage and pride while Izuku is motivated by love and pride.

Katsuki starts by swinging one hand behind him and firing an explosion that sends him flying at Izuku. He readies his other arm to swing an explosion fueled punch. Izuku saw it coming from a mile away. He takes a breath and side steps the swing. While Katsuki's arm is outstretched he grabs his wrist with his left hand and uses his left leg to sweep both of Katsuki's legs. This caused the blonde to lose balance in the air but before crashing into the ground he tuck and rolls.

Before Izuku can get back into his stance Katsuki is already at him again. Katsuki gets low and throws a jab at Izuku's chest. Izuku takes the hit and winces while grabbing onto his arm and using his other hand to hit him in the jaw with a plam strike. Katsuki is left dazed for a second so Izuku gets some distance.

"Why aren't you using your quirk? Still can't use it without passing out, huh!? Fight me with everything you got!"

Izuku rubbed his chest where Katsuki hit. Even though he can handle the heat from the small explosion doesn't mean he can handle the extra force to the strike. His uniform has a small burn mark on it.

"I don't want to burn you. You may have some resistance to your explosions but my fire can hurt you still."

This caused Katsuki to growl in rage. He ran towards Izuku with small explosions popping off.

"You think you can hurt me?!"

Once Katsuki got close enough he stretched his arms forward with both palms out connected at the wrist. A larger explosion than what he couldn't do with only one hand fired towards Izuku. In shock, Izuku took in a deep breath and stretched his own arms forward with palms out. Flames came from Izuku's hands and met Katsuki's explosion. Letting out the breath, Izuku spread out his arms palms still out. The flames from his hands sheilding himself and cutting the explosion so it's redirected to the sides.

"How the-"

Before Katsuki could say or do anything, Izuku spun on one leg and sent a kick to his gut. The blonde fell to one knee losing his breath. This caused Izuku to let down his guard and worry. The greenette held out one hand to help up his former friend.

"Are you ok-"

In a swift motion, Katsuki kicked Izuku in the knee while still down causing the boy to fall on his other knee as well. Placing his palm on Izuku's chest, Katsuki shouted while letting out a big enough explosion to send the other boy stumbling back a short distance.

"Don't look down on me!"

Izuku struggled to get up. Both hits to his chest made it hard for him to breath properly. The stumbling across some park ground didn't feel that good either. He could hear Katsuki slowly walking towards him. He noted the blonde is still holding his stomach in slight pain.

"Is that all you got? Just a few moves that couldn't hurt anyone seriously?!"

Izuku got to one knee and watched him get closer. Getting his breathing back, he planned his next move.

"I don't want to hurt you kaachan, why can't you see that?"

Not giving an answer, Katsuki started running and swung his foot at Izuku's head. Izuku waited for the leg to get closer and swung his fist at the leg just above the ankle. Both boys hissed in pain with Katsuki clutching where he was hit and Izuku cradling his fist. Katsuki tries to walk on the leg but falls down. Izuku can barely open his hand without wincing.

"It's over kaachan. I don't want to fight anymore."

Izuku said quietly. His guilt getting the better of him for allowing Katsuki to rile him up. The other boy is having trouble standing properly.

"I'm not done with you yet! Fight me with everything you got Deku!"

Izuku looked at the boy with not pity nor confidence. He stood up and bowed at the blonde to show respect. Katsuki wided his eyes at the action, too stunned to speak. Izuku turned around and started to head home. He heard the blonde hitting the ground with explosions and shouting at him. Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, the greenette continues to walk.

-Midoriya Apartment-

Izuku opens the door to the apartment and enters letting out a held sigh. His mom will be getting home from work soon with the groceries for dinner so he had time to patch himself up. He goes into his room placing his backpack on his chair. Going over to his closet, he gathers a change of clothes and a towel. He makes his way towards the bathroom for a much needed shower. While washing himself he gets lost in thought.

'We actually fought today. Not only that but I think I held my own against kaachan too. What would Mr. Iroh say?'

He knew that he wanted to talk to Iroh about what happened. It felt wrong to fight just because he got angry. The sound of his mother getting home is what brought him back to reality. He looked down at his chest and saw a bruise beginning to form. Now noticing the slight sting in his body he saw that his arms and legs were also slightly scraped up from rolling across the park floor.

'Man, I'm gonna feel this in the morning.'

-Later that night-

Izuku sat with his mother on the couch in the living room. He saw a neat black rectangular box on the coffee table and wondered what it was. When he and his mother finished dinner, she asked him to talk later. She looks like she had been crying before she got home. He's noticed that every now and then she would get sad but try to hide it.

"What's wrong mom? Are you alright?"

He asked innocently. Inko wasn't sure where to start so she handed him the letter she got nine years ago. The look on her son's face almost broke her heart when he read who it's from. He looked up at her with questioning eyes and immediately tore the envelope open.

-Izuku's Letter from Hisashi-

To my beloved son,

I want to start this letter off by apologizing for leaving you and your mother, Izuku. Any child shouldn't have to grow up without the absence of either parent. I won't tell you that my duties were more important than family cause they weren't. But I have a job as a hashira to keep the world a safe place for everyone, especially my family. There is so much that I want to tell and teach you, but my time is short. There are others that you can seek guidance from if you so wish too.

I am what's know as a hashira. A high ranking demon slayer in a team of expert warriors. For many generations the demon slayers have worked hard to keep the world from knowing the truth. There are real demons that roamed the earth, devouring human beings. We slayers are sent to different parts of the world to hunt them down and make sure they are slain. We have recently defeated the originator of the demons, Muzan Kibutsiji.

In his defeat one of our fellow slayers, a scientist has discovered an unsettling truth. The quirks that humans have developed in the last few centuries are the results of humans and demons interbreeding. It's not to say that everyone today is a demon though. Through many centuries of the descendents of those who were born from human and demon have had families of their own. Demons have a special ability called their demon blood art. This gift has been passed down through the generations weeding out the demonic affects and appearances with each new born until none but the blood art itself remained.

I fear that one day the demons will return though. That's why it made me so proud that you've always wanted to become a hero. You are born with a strength that others can only dream of having my son. When the time is right, you will unlock this strength and I know you will do great things. It is in my heart and love that I leave my own nichirin blade in your hands. The katana in the case is made of a special type of metal that holds solar light. A demon can only die from direct sun light or decapitation from a nichirin blade. I hope that the day never comes that you have to face a demon.

Become strong and protect your mother and loved ones with everything you can use. You are always my pride and joy. You and your mother are always in my thoughts and prayers. In your quest to become stronger seek out the demon slayer corps, as they will help you master your breathing in ways you'd never imagine. Stay strong and humble Izuku.

-With love, your father Hisashi Kamado

-End of Letter-

Izuku couldn't believe what he just read. He gave his mother a look of sadness and something else. fulfillment? Inko didn't ask what the letter said, she thought that Izuku deserves to have some secrets with his father. The look on her sons face said many things as he read.

"How long have you been holding on to this?"

He didn't sound angry just curious. Inko pulled him into a tight hug and cried hard.

"It's been nine years since I last saw your father. He died in my arms from the wounds after defeating Muzan. He told me to wait till you turn fourteen to give you the letter and case. I just couldn't help myself to bring it up before without being a mess"

Izuku hugged his mom back. He wasn't mad that she kept this hidden for so long. In the end, he wouldn't know what to do if he were in her shoes too. So he just accepted that the world wasn't as it seemed. In the end it was up to the next generation to make up for the mistakes of the past.

And that's a wrap for chapter 7 yall. I hope that everyone is enjoying the story. My plot twist for quirks popping up so far from what I see is original and I'mma be having fun with that. Thanks for reading and please leave feedback. it really helps.
