"So I'm guessing this is PokeStar Studios." Ash said, looking at the large front gates with various signs indicating the studio beyond the gates.
"Yeah, yeah." Rosa said, checking a sheet of paper.
"What is that, you've been writing on that since yesterday?" Ash asked.
"Your bill." Rosa said, handing Ash the sheet of paper.
"Six million one hundred fifty thousand Poke!" Ash exclaimed. "I can't afford that!"
"That's how much everything in my room costs, so until you make all that back, you are STUCK WITH ME!" Rosa said angrily.
"Alright alright, I'll figure something out." Ash said. "Wait I've got it! The Unova League!"
"What about it?" Rosa questioned.
"Every Pokemon league has a huge prize for winning, all I have to do is win and that will probably pay it off." Ash said smugly.
"Have you won many leagues?" Rosa asked.
"Well no, I did defeat the Orange Crew and become a champion there as well as being the first trainer to beat the Kanto Battle Frontier." Ash remarked.
"I have a feeling I'm never getting my money back." Rosa sighed.
"Hold it you two, no civilians allowed today." A guard said, getting in the path of the bickering duo.
"What, but this studio has always been open to the public." Rosa countered.
"Not today, their newest movie is being worked on and we've had nothing but trouble, our original star even ran off." The second guard said.
"Don't tell them that!" The first guard argued.
"Wait, that's why we're here!" Ash said, struggling to grab the Pokeball holding Riolu. "Is the star you're missing this Riolu?" Ash finished, sending out the Riolu he'd found.
"Wait just a moment." The first guard said, stepping aside and talking on his radio. "Alright you two come with me."
The guard quickly ushered Ash, Pikachu, Rosa, Lillipup, and Riolu through the film lot.
Inside a smallish office
"Look we didn't take Riolu, I didn't even mean to catch it, we just found it and I caught it on accident." Ash said.
"I don't even know this guy, if you don't let me out right now you'll be hearing from my lawyers!" Rosa shouted.
"So I heard you two were the ones who have my Riolu." A man said, walking into the room, shrouded in shadows.
"I've been trying to say we didn't kidnap him, he found us near Floccesy Town." Ash said.
"I know that! And who turned off the lights in my office!" The man said, opening the blinds to show a rather rotund man with a smile. "Now I must thank you for bringing our star back, let me give you the reward."
"Reward?" Ash half asked, before Rosa stomped on his foot.
"Why of course, the cash reward for bringing him baaaa, why shine my snout and call me Stoutland! You're Ash Ketchum!" The man said, eagerly shaking Ash's hand.
"Yes…". Ash paused unsure.
"You know I was there doing some scouting, personally I think you were one of the best in the Sinnoh League. Gotta tell you that Tobias fella, he seems like trouble, I mean why enter a minor league tournament with a Darkrai of all things, but you! You are the only trainer to make him send out a second Pokemon that entire league!" The Man said. "You know if you aren't busy I could use your help as a battle consultant."
"A consultant?" Ash asked.
"Yeah, for the Riolu Kid Movie. I'll be honest with you Ash, Riolu has the heart for battle, but our star playing Riolu Kid, new up and comer Tommy Chardonnay, he's lacking something that you have in droves, Gumption!" The man said. "When I watched your battles, it wasn't just you, you were fighting right there with your Pokemon, very, very impressive."
"Does it pay?" Rosa asked.
"Ha! Does it pay! I love this girl! Yes it pays, I mean not as much as an actor, but he'll be paid! Come on I'll introduce you." The man said taking Ash before he could even agree.
At the movie shoot
"Alright Ash, you sit here and watch our stars at work!" The man said.
"Yeah but I…". Ash stuttered before being shushed.
On scene
"Alright Riolu, use Force Palm." The Riolu Kid actor said.
"Stop him Pawniard!" A man in a green and black outfit commanded.
Riolu and Pawniard clashed with Riolu pushing the Pawniard over.
"See, it doesn't feel real, and we're already behind I don't know if we can make this if this kid doesn't step up. I mean he's a talented actor but he just doesn't have what it takes for action movies like this." The man said to Ash.
"I'll talk to him, it looks like Riolu doesn't agree with him either." Ash noticed.
At Tommy Chardonnay's trailer
"So you're supposed to be some battle coach?" Tommy asked.
"I have experience, but the problem I think you're having is you aren't getting into it, that battle felt bland, I mean if you want action, you need to call it out with energy like this!" Ash said. "Pikachu use Iron Tail!"
Pikachu leapt into the air, swinging his tail around even creating a slight breeze from the force.
"The problem isn't me, it's that Riolu, they wanted a real fighter rather than an actor Pokemon, and I can't work with that." Tommy said.
"But why is that a problem, if this is an action movie, shouldn't Riolu be more physical than traditional for his acting?" Ash asked.
"What and you think you could do better than me?" Tommy questioned. "I've been nominated for 3 Golden Globes! How many do you have?!"
"None, I was just saying your heart doesn't feel in this battle." Ash said.
"I don't need to take this from you, tell Mr Deeoh I'm done!" Tommy said storming off.
"Oh, I think I'm about to owe a lot more money." Ash said.
"Somebody help!" A woman screamed from nearby as Ash and Pikachu were heading back to the main office.
"Ri!" Riolu exclaimed leaping from where he was on a roof.
"Riolu, we could use your help." Ash said, seeing the sign falling. "Pikachu break it with Iron Tail! Riolu use Force Palm!"
Mr Deeoh watched from his office, Riolu working more in sync with Ash than he had any other actor before him.
"Incredible." The man said. "He's perfect."
Riolu and Pikachu managed to break the sign enough as to not cause any more damage or hurt anyone severely.
"Ash that was amazing!" The man said walking up with Rosa hot on his heels.
"We just, leapt into action, anyone else would have done the same." Ash said.
"Yes but you and Riolu, that energy is exactly what I've been looking for! Ash I want you to be Riolu Kid." The man said.
"Can I get back to you on that?" Ash asked a bit shocked.
"Of course, do you need an agent to look over the contract?" The man asked.
"Hey Rosa, you said your mom was an agent, do you think she could maybe help and look it over?" Ash asked.
"We can call her and she could be here in about two days probably." Rosa said.
"Well then in the meantime we will have you stay on our dime, and get you something a bit better than that, whatever it is you are wearing." The man said. "Ahh, but where are my manners I'm about to hire a star and you don't even know how to address me. I am Stuart Deeoh, the owner of PokeStar Studios."
"Thank you Mr Deeoh." Ash said shaking the man's hand.
