"Are you sure this is the right place?" Rosa asked, as she and Ash made their way to a building in downtown Virbank.

"I double checked with Mr Deeoh himself." Ash said. "Also next filming location is in Nimbasa City."

"Finally somewhere fun." Rosa commented.

"We've still got time, but for now I have a gym battle." Ash said as he entered the door, leading to a flight of stairs going down, with loud music playing.

"What kind of gym even is this?" Rosa asked.

"Are you two here for the gym challenge?" A man asked.

"He is, I'm just… along for the ride?" Rosa half asked.

"Very well, head on in, they're still warming up." The man said.

The duo entered through a heavy metal door to see what looked to be an underground stage.

"Hello I'm here for a gym battle!" Ash shouted over the loud music.

No response as the band kept playing.

"Maybe they didn't hear you?" Rosa asked, looking around.

"Well I'll get their attention! Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"

Pikachu leapt off of Ash's shoulder, into the air, releasing a bolt of electricity that stopped the music instantly.

"Hey whose bright idea was it to cut our jam session!" A man on the drums said.

"My names Ash and I'm here for a gym battle." Ash said walking onto the stage.

"A gym battle huh?" A girl with a guitar said. "You've got guts coming up here and challenging me like that."

"Want me to toss em out Miss Roxie?" The drummer asked.

"No Nicky, I'll give the kid a shot, besides he's already got a groupie." Roxie said.

"I'm not a groupie!" Rosa said.

"Hey wait a minute she's right ain't you one of those Lillipup Idols?" The bass guitarist asked.

"Nope, that would be her sister." Ash said. "But this isn't about her today." Ash said.

"Very well then Ash, the rules for my battle are simple, a three on three." Roxie said.

"Sounds good to me." Ash said, grabbing a Pokeball.

"Well then, Koffing come on out!" Roxie exclaimed.

"Snivy I choose you!"

"Not another bad matchup for Snivy." Rosa groaned.

"Snivy use Tackle!"

"Koffing use Smog!"

Snivy ran forward, leaping at Koffing as the poison type surrounded itself in a thick cloud before being struck.

"Koffing use Venoshock!"

"Snivy use Energy Ball!"

Snivy struggled as suddenly the poison they absorbed from the smog was pulled from their body, stopping them from attacking.

"Snivy use Tackle!"

"Koffing use Assurance!"

Snivy rushed forward, striking into Koffing knocking it back and causing it to drop to the ground in defeat.

"Koffing return!" Roxie exclaimed. "You're good I'll give you that, but we're far from our last song! Come on out Grimer!"

"Snivy return!" Ash said. "Come on out Riolu use Dig!"

Riolu came out and quickly dove underground.

"Grimer use Poison Gas!"

A gas filled the arena, causing both Rosa and Ash to start coughing.

"Pikachu, cough cough, cover your mouth!" Ash said, as the electric type leapt to the rafters above.

"Now Riolu attack!"

Riolu leapt out of the ground, tossing Grimer into the air.

"Grimer use Disable!

"Use Ice Punch!"

Riolu dove back at Grimer, his fist covered in Ice as it struck the gooey body, slowly sinking in.

"Now use Venoshock!"

The poison Riolu had absorbed was suddenly and forcefully expelled back out causing massive damage as the fighting type tried to free himself.

"Riolu use Ice Punch again!"

Riolu sent his other hand forward, now getting both stuck inside of Grimer.

"Grimer use Venoshock!"

Grimer shuddered and cried out as the poison was pulled from Riolu's body, knocking the fighting type out.

"Riolu return!" Ash exclaimed. "Ready Pikachu!"

"Pika!" Pikachu exclaimed, leaping back into the arena.

"Grimer use Poison Gas!"

"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"

Pikachu sent out a bolt of electricity, igniting the gas and engulfing Grimer in the flames, leaving it in a dazed state.

"Hit 'em with another Thunderbolt!" Ash called out.

Pikachu sent out another bolt of electricity, shooting it through Grimer, knocking out the poison type.

"Grimer return!" Roxie called out. "Now it's time for our grand finale! Scolipede come on out!"

"Pikachu use Iron Tail!"

"Scolipede use Toxic!"

Pikachu quickly ran across the field, dodging the toxic sludge before slamming into Scolipede.

"Scolipede use Steam Roller!"

"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"

Scolipede leapt into the air, curling into a ball and launching towards Pikachu before being zapped by Pikachu's attack.

"Scolipede use Toxic again!"

"Pikachu dodge it with Quick Attack!"

Pikachu ran around the field, dodging the toxic sludge left and right before closing in on the poison type.

"Pikachu use Volt Tackle!"

"Scolipede use Steam Roller!"

The two Pokemon collided with both being launched back from one another.

"Scolipede use Venoshock!"

Ash was shocked as poison was extracted from Pikachu's body.

"Pikachu must have been poisoned from the gas and contact with Scolipede." Rosa said in surprise.

"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"

"Scolipede use Bug Bite!"

Pikachu sent out a bolt of electricity that shot through the bug type as Scolipede bit down on Pikachu, sparks shooting between the two.

"Pikachu you were great, we'll handle this from here." Ash said.

"With what?" Rosa asked. "Every attack Scolipede has is good against Snivy."

"I just need one." Ash said with confidence. "Snivy come on out!"

"Scolipede use Steam Roller!"

"Snivy use Tackle!"

Scolipede rolled into a ball, about to rush towards Snivy, before their body was stunned with sparks going across them, with Snivy slamming into the stunned bug type.

"Scolipede isn't the only one with a contact based ability, Pikachu's static has a chance to paralyze." Ash said with confidence. "Snivy use Tackle one final time!"

Snivy ran at Scolipede, slamming into the bug type and knocking them into the side wall.

"Scolipede was knocked out, thats impossible!" The drummer said.

"Shut it." Roxie said. "Congratulations on your victory Ash. As proof of your win I present you with the Toxic Badge."

"Thank you Roxie." Ash said.

"And if you're looking for your next gym, you should head to Castelia City, you can head there from the port, my father runs a ship there and should be more than happy to escort the two of you there if you show him my badge." Roxie said.

"Thank you, that is very appreciated." Ash said, as he heads out with Rosa.

"You know, you never told me how much I got for the last movie." Ash reminded.

"Oh yeah, don't worry you still aren't there, not yet." Rosa said.
