"Are you sure we're going the right way this time?" Rosa asked, as the trio made their way through the desert.
"Yeah, I double checked with Jeb this morning, we keep along these rocks we'll make it to Nimbasa in no time." Ash said, readjusting his hold on the egg. "There's also a tournament in the city we can check out while we're there."
"A tournament?" Elliot asked. "What kind of tournament?"
"A battle tournament, hosted by someone named Don Gero." Ash said. "I figured we could all enter the tournament for something fun to do while we're there."
"On top of your movie, and gym battle." Rosa reminded.
"Right, hopefully the movie and tournament won't happen at the same time." Ash admitted.
"We'll have to focus on meeting up with Stu Deeoh once we arrive." Rosa reminded.
"What about you Elliot, anything you want to do there?" Ash asked.
"Duck." Elliot said.
"Weird idea, but okay." Ash said.
"No duck!" Rosa said, pointing to a large creature coming towards them.
Ash was unable to move out of the way safely as the creature dove at him, snatching the egg from him in the process.
"Ash are you okay?" Rosa asked, noticing his arms.
"I've been better, but the egg is gone." Ash said.
"What do you think could have taken it?" Rosa asked.
"What do we know that lives in this desert, can fly, and has a pension for stealing shiny objects?" Elliot reminded.
"You don't honestly think it could be Mandibuzz all the way out here?" Ash questioned.
"Only one way to know for sure." Elliot pointed out.
"Right, Braviary to the skies, find what attacked us!" Ash said, sending out his flying type.
Braviary took off, seeing the figure flying off with a slight glimmer coming from the egg.
"Bra!" Braviary cried out, flying off towards the creature.
"Let's go, quick!" Ash said, chasing after Braviary.
"Heat, and more running, come on already." Rosa groaned, chasing after Ash and Pikachu.
Near a cavern like inlet
"Yeah, I'd put money this is Mandibuzz's usual nest." Ash said, seeing the various scraps in the inlet.
"Meaning her usual backup is probably not far behind." Rosa remembered from last time.
"Maybe, but we're a lot more prepared this time." Ash reminded. "Braviary you're going against Mandibuzz." Ash said, grabbing two Pokeballs. "Darumaka come out, I want you facing the Trubbish, Pikachu you've got Scraggy again. Riolu go underground until you find the egg and get it out safely."
Ash's four Pokemon nodded in agreement with Riolu diving underground and Braviary flying through the canyon towards the nest.
"Trubb!"
"Scrag!"
Mandibuzz's lackeys hopped out in the way of the groups advancement, not hindering Riolu or Braviary however.
"Darumaka use Flame Wheel! Pikachu use Charge Beam!"
Darumaka rolled up, engulfing herself in flames before launching at Trubbish as Pikachu fired a beam right at Scraggy, knocking him back a few feet. The fighting type quickly recovered launching headfirst at Pikachu as Trubbish seemed to be hesitant to strike Darumaka back.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt! Darumaka use Headbutt!"
Pikachu sent out a bolt of electricity, powered up by his previous attack, shooting Ruth into Scraggy as Darumaka struck Trubbish once more.
"Scragg!" Scraggy yelled, running away, holding up his pant like skin.
"Trub Trub Trub." Trubbish yelled, running further into the gathered junk.
"Well that took care of them, let's go and check on Braviary." Ash said, rushing forward.
"Right!" Elliot and Rosa said, following quickly behind.
They reached the innermost part where Braviary was in combat with Mandibuzz already.
"Braviary strike them down!" Ash called out.
Braviary launched at Mandibuzz, his talons outstretched as he slashed at the dark type, causing them to recoil in pain.
"Now use Wing Attack!" Ash exclaimed.
Braviary didn't let up, quickly shooting right back at Mandibuzz for another hit as Riolu popped out of the ground to look for the egg.
"Use Aerial Ace!" Ash called out, wanting to keep Mandibuzz focused on Braviary and not on Riolu or the egg.
Braviary continued their assault, striking multiple times before finally scaring off Mandibuzz.
"Ri!" Riolu proclaimed, lifting up the egg.
"Good work Riolu." Ash said as the fighting type rushed back over to them. "Good work to all of you, our training has really been paying off, I have no doubt we'll win our next gym battle."
"Are we all set here?" Rosa asked.
"Yeah, we can get going, I know this place isn't exactly where you would like to be." Ash admitted, as the trio left the inlet. "I promise, we'll spend some time in the cleaner parts of Nimbasa once we get there."
As the trio left, Trubbish re emerged from the trash, blushing as it watched Darumaka leave with the others.
"Trub." Trubbish said to itself, following the group from a safe distance.
