Chapter 32: Creating a Miracle

"Here's the fun part about Tinkatuff," Kai raised his arm and twirled his Sledgehammer with one hand and aimed a finger at the sky. "She can use Metronome." He said before Kai began to wag his finger back and forth.

Kai's steel-type weapon pulsed with magnetic electricity and started sparking around him as he twirled it. The steel type silver colored electricity struck the ground below Kai and lifted several shards of earth that started to float behind his back.

Kai's sledgehammer began to move so fast that it started spinning on its own, twirling like a propeller on a helicopter, it floated above Kai's hand as more steel-type electricity pulsated and sparked about.

Mela watched as intense winds blew against her body.

Kai stopped wagging his finger "With the power of Metronome… You'll be able to see our…" Kai caught his sledgehammer with two hands and wielded it like a baseball bat as one of the shards of earth came in front of the boy. "Ancient power!"

Mela glared.

Kai swung at the shard of earth in front of him and sent it flying at Mela, who threw a kick to shatter it into pieces. Dust and dirt flew past the fire type specialist as she kept her leg up. Mela lowered her leg slowly as she stared at Kai, who was preparing to swing another shard of earth at her. "Heat…" Mela spoke under her breath and then moved so fast she disappeared from sight.

Mela re-appeared in the air in front of Kai with her fist raised. "Wave!" Kai leapt to dodge Mela's oncoming punch which left behind a massive fiery explosion and a wave of fire that spread across the grass fields they stood on. Mela looked up to see Kai looking down at her with a cocky grin in the sky while standing on one of the floating stones to use it as a platform.

"Inferno!" Mela's feet burst into flames and acted as jetboots as she flew to close the distance. Kai started flying away, and Mela gave chase.

Kai then began using his weapon to send the rest of his shards of earth at Mela except the one he was standing on. Mela twirled as she dodged and closed the distance. Kai swung his hammer at his attacker, who ducked and threw an uppercut. Mela's fist touched the soft exterior of a plush Pokédoll. Mela's eyes widened as she sent the pokedoll flying. She spun around and as she fell, saw Kai was on the ground with his weapon on his shoulder.

"How's that Substitute doing for ya?!" Kai cried, grinning and aiming his hammer up at the still floating Mela.

'This isn't good,' Kai thought as he kept grinning. 'I'm a lot slower with this sledgehammer weighing me down. Plus, Tinkatuff's a steel/fairy type. Any fire attack she throws at me is going to hurt. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea…' Kai clenched his weapon tightly.

The 'Flow' that came from his brimming confidence faded away the moment this thought came to him. His eyes went from blue to back to its normal color: purple. 'Ohh, this is bad…but… It's okay. It's fine. Kai's eyes began to shine blue once again. 'I'll turn this mistake into something great…!'

"Here GOES- Stone Edge!" Kai shouted as swung his sledgehammer toward the ground, sending a rush of rock-type energy that flew across the ground like an underground thunderbolt. Once the energy reached Mela's feet, she leapt away from the explosion that raised a salvo of stones that flew toward Mela, who retreated. Kai aimed his sledgehammer at his opponent, and the stones that flew suddenly started chasing Mela like a flock of Wingull.

"Okay, that should give me enough time for this..." Kai said, wagging his finger. "Hope this works! Metronome!" He cried.

Kai's weapon shone with steel type energy as iron shields circled the boy and disappeared- raising his defense.

"Ugh, Not Iron Defense! Okay, again- Metronome!"

Splashes of water flew out of Kai's body, which did absolutely nothing.

"No!" Kai cried. "Not Splash! Ugh- again! Metronome!" Kai wagged his finger. Psychic energy suddenly burst around Kai, and within a blink of an eye, his body vanished from using the move Teleport.

Meanwhile, Mela was trying her best to dodge the oncoming wave of stones that kept chasing her. Mela spun around, opened her mouth, and released a violent flamethrower that was hot enough to completely melt the stones that were coming her way.

As Mela fired the blast of flame from her mouth, Kai suddenly appeared above her head with his hammer held high.

"BRUTAL SWING!" He cried, swinging and landing a direct and devastating hit onto Mela's head. The two started falling toward the ground with intense speed, and once they hit the floor, an explosion rang out. Once the dust and smoke cleared, it revealed Kai standing over Mela with his sledgehammer on her head. Mela was still conscious, amazingly. She was glaring at the boy who raised his hammer once again.

"One more for good measure, take this- FISSUR-!" Mela raised her legs and kicked Kai with both of her feet. He sent the boy flying, and then flipped to stand back up as Kai flipped and landed on the ground with a crouch.

Mela was breathing heavily, and Kai noticed it.

'I see,' Kai said, putting his sledgehammer on his shoulder. 'Tinkatuff''s weapon may be slow, but it really packs a punch if I land a hit. All of the attacks I landed with Pawmo's weapon did nothing compared to one hit with Tinkatuff's…!'

"That really hurt…!" Mela cried. "Ugh…I didn't want to do this… but.. There's only one way to win."

Mela pulled out her phone, and pressed a button. The moment she did this, Her starmobile came driving in, pushing past Aeon and Arven and then toward its owner. The Revaroom that powered the starmobile looked like it was having a wonderful time. Mela backflipped, landed on her star mobile and pointed at Kai.

"Revaroom, CHANGE!" Mela cried.

"Wait-" Kai cried.

The starmobile began to rumble, several mechanic-like noises rang as the truck began to change shape. The sounds of metal clanging and drills echoed as the entire truck turned into a massive cannon. The very same one that had Kai trembling in fear long ago.

Kai took several steps back just like how he did before.

"Begin charging… the ultimate fire attack...Supernova! Mela cried out and pointed her finger at Kai as fire-type energy began to charge within the weapon. The earth began to tremble as light emanated from the tip of the cannon.

Aeon, who pressed a button on his temple began calculating the powerlevel of the attack, and widened his eyes in shock.

"What?!" Aeon cried. "The…This power… it's off the charts..!"

Arven spun around to Aeon. "What do you mean?"

"This- this attack… what is this attack!? It's-... more powerful than any fire type attack that's ever been used..!"

Kai felt the immense fear that he felt before. He felt his legs beginning to tremble, and his hands shaking with fear. The power of Flow that emanated on his eyes started to dim as a question came to his mind.

Could he really do this? Kai lowered his head, clenched his fists…

"Hehehehe…." Kai chuckled. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!" Mela's eyes widened in complete shock as Kai sighed before stopping his laughter. "Of course, I can do this," Kai mumbled to himself, stepping forward and standing in front of the cannon as the power of Flow in his eyes radiated with intense light.

"What makes you think you can stand a chance against this attack!?" Mela cried. "Just stand down and surrender!"

"Nah, I don't think I will!" Kai cried. "Go ahead and fire that thing!" Kai aimed his weapon at the laser. "And guess what? I won't dodge."

"What?!" Aeon and Arven cried out at the same time.

"Do you have ANY idea how stupid of an idea that is!?" Aeon cried. "You do realize that this amount of power… it'll obliterate you! Just dodge it, you moron! Why are you letting it HIT YOU?"

"No, see, that's the fun part-" Kai said, turning to Aeon. "I don't think I can. So I think I'm gonna have to deflect it or something."

"There's nothing in Tinkatuff's move arsenal that can do something like that! Just dodge it!" Aeon cried.

"Eh, fair. Hey Mela! Is it possible to dodge your attack?!" Kai cried.

"Uh, NO!? It's too big!" Mela replied.

"Yeah, that's what I thought! Thanks for answering!"

"No problem! We can talk more after you lose!"

"You mean after YOU lose?"

Mela laughed.

"Kai, did you not hear me?! There's literally nothing Tinkatuff can do!"

"There is ONE move I can use thanks to Tinkatuff." Kai raised his finger. "I've got Metronome."

"REALLY? You're REALLY betting everything on METRONOME!?" Aeon replied.

"Yup."

"Are you KIDDING ME!?" Aeon cried. "The odds of a move that can actually deal with an attack like that is staggeringly low!"

"Logic can make you a pessimist sometimes, y'know that?" Kai said, "You weren't here for it, but I ran away in the face of this thing." Kai said. "and there's no way I'm doing that again. I'm going to win this my way. And also, do me a favor, Aeon. If I win this, never doubt me again."

"I'm not doubting you! I'm trying to keep you SAFE because you're my FRIEND!"

"Sorry, can't hear you doubting me from here-" Kai said, turning to the cannon. "Cannon's getting a little loud."

"AGHH! KAAAAI!" Aeon gritted his teeth as he began to debate if he should step in to get Kai out of the way.

"He has a point!" Mela cried. "There's no way you can win. You should just give up!"

"Y'know how many times I've heard that line in my head before?" Kai said, crossing his arms. "'Give up' this, 'give up' that. And you know who says that to me the most?"

Kai aimed his thumb at himself. "Me. I say that to myself every day." Kai slowly raised his hammer like a baseball bat. "But you know what? I realized something. I shine the most when I'm at my most stupid. Fighting a massive Klawf all by myself? Stupid. But guess what? I won."

Aeon's eyes widened.

"Purposely standing in the way of a massive attack thrown by the champion-ranked Trainer Nemona with my invoker disengaged..? Extremely dumb. But guess what?!"

The afterimage of Tinkatuff's true body appeared beside Kai, mirroring the same pose her trainer had with the weapon she had transformed into. Both Pokemon and Trainer started with intense confidence and a smile.

"You still won..?" Aeon muttered under his breath.

"I still won! I didn't win the fight, but I won my Tinkatuff's respect!"

The after image of Tinkatuff nodded before she disappeared.

"Point is," Kai said, "when I stop thinking, stop my doubts and shut up and just DO what needs to be done..! Then I can do ANYTHING! Besides...If I'm told that what I'm going to do is impossible, I'll just find a way to make it possible. I used to never think I could do anything, and I doubted myself for a long time, but now, everything's crystal clear. I know for certain...that I can't lose!"

Aeon's clenched fists loosened. An extremely loud sigh escaped his lips.

"You're unbelievable." Aeon said. "Facing such impossible odds like this with a smile on your face…? You want to be that way…? Fine." Aeon raised his fist in the sky. "Then you'd better win! You hear me!?"

Arven nodded and raised his fist in the sky along with his brother. "Yeah!" He cried. "You'd better do it then, Kai!"

"Star cannon… Prepare to fire in 3…" Mela said.

A pink aura exploded around Kai.

"True confidence means that you can believe in yourself even with impossible odds!" Kai cried out as the earth below his feet began to shatter.

"2!" Mela shouted.

"True confidence means knowing that you can take on the world!" The earth below Kai's feet shattered even more.

"1!"

"True confidence… Means knowing…" Kai's eyes shined extremely blue. "That you're UNDEFEATABLE!"

"STAR CANNON…! OBLITERATE!"

The star cannon released a massive, sky-scrapper sized orb of flame that flew with intense speed. It was so large that even the skies became red.

Kai swung his sledgehammer like a baseball bat, clashing with the orb and managing to keep it from crashing into him. His arms and weapon trembled like the ground during an earthquake.

"SEE!?" Kai cried. "IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU THROW AT ME! I'LL-"

Kai grunted as he started to get pushed back. He stumbled to his knees. "AAAAAGH-!... Okay- Fair enough..! But..! I won't give up..!"

Kai raised one arm and wagged his finger. "I've got this..! Metra…nome..! Give me something to work with..!"

Water splashed around Kai, doing absolutely nothing. "SPLASH AGAIN!?" He cried. The orb was beginning to push Kai up toward the sky, and his legs were beginning to be carried up toward the sky. Kai screamed at the very top of his lungs as the orb carried him off.

"Metranome..!" Kai cried, wagging his fingers.

Water splashed around Kai, doing absolutely nothing.

"KAAAI!" Aeon cried.

"NOOOO!" Arven shouted.

Kai wagged his finger one more time. "Metronome!" and by the time he did, the orb of flame completely consumed him.

Mela watched from afar, waiting for the orb to explode. But instead, it didn't. It was slowly shrinking. "Wait- why is it shrinking?!" Arven cried. Aeon pressed a button on his temple, and the moment he did, his eyes widened in sheer surprise.

"The move he used because of Metronome…" Aeon cried. "it was…! Mirror coat..!"

"Mirror coat!?" Arven cried. "That's the move…that reflects the attack thrown at the user with double strength!"

All of the power of the Supernova was being completely absorbed and entering Kai's invoker armor. Soon, the orb was shrunk until it was completely absorbed into Kai's armor, which was radiating with fire type energy.

Mela's eyes widened in complete and utter shock as she watched Kai land on the ground with a crouch.

"What'd I tell you?" Kai said, standing up and aiming his arm at Mela. "I am the miracle."

"S-STARMOBILE!" Mela cried. "CH-CHARGE ANOTHER-"

"Get out of my face!" Kai gathered all of his fire type energy to his palm and fired the Supernova back at Mela. Mela screamed at the very top of her lungs as the massive orb of flame slammed onto her and carried her and her starmobile toward the sky.

Kai turned around, threw his Sledgehammer into the air, which transformed back into Tinkatuff midair. Kai pulled out his phone as Tinkatuff landed on his head, and the two posed for a picture just as the orb exploded.

"He-...He did it…" Arven said.

Aeon was completely speechless as he watched Kai put his phone away and walk toward him.

"What'd I say?" Kai said, pointing his way as he walked over to him. He grabbed his backpack out of the completely awestruck android's hands. "Never doubt me again."

Kai then used his still extended finger to poke Aeon's nose. He smiled, then grinned with his teeth showing. "I'm trying to say something cool so you'll blush. Is it working?" Kai asked.

Aeon sighed and shook his head, cracking a smile.

"Nope."

"Aw, man. I'll get you one day."

"We'll see."

Arven went to pat Kai's shoulder. "Great job, dude! So uh, what're we going to do now that-"

The sound of the earth shaking caused the three boys to tense up with fear. The three of them turned around to see Mela laying on the destroyed starmobile. Laying unconscious on Mela's stomach was Revaroom, who coughed a bit of smoke.

"Uh…" Arven mumbled. "Let's uh, get her and uh, every other team star member you beat up to a pokecenter."
