"So where is Hugh today?" Rosa asked.

"No clue, after yesterday I think he's needed some time on his own, so we'll let him be." Ash admitted.

"So I'm guessing the agenda for today is the gym battle then?" Elliot asked.

"So close, Charles is in town and wants a rematch today." Ash said calmly.

"And you're fine with that?" Rosa asked.

"Training is training at the end of the day." Ash said. "Come on he said he'd be near the market."

"Well, not like we have something else to rush off too." Rosa admitted.

Near the market

"Alright Ash, last time we did a triple battle, but now it's time for my other all new style!" Charles said.

"Alright what is it? Sky, Inverse, Horde?" Ash asked excitedly.

"What, no, it's rotation." Charles said. "You send three Pokemon out, a left, a right, and a center, and in battle only the center will attack, but we can switch after any of our own attacks."

"Alright, interesting, I accept." Ash said, grabbing three Pokeballs. "Larvesta, Darumaka, Trubbish, let's go!"

"Zebstrika, Krokorok, Accelgor, come out!"

"Those are some strong Pokemon Ash is up against." Rosa said in shock.

"Yeah, I don't know if these three can even handle the Krokorok let alone the other two." Elliot admitted.

"Krokorok use Bite!"

"Darumaka use Fire Punch and switch to the left all of you!"

Darumaka rushed and leapt forward, striking Krokorok before flipping back, leaving Trubbish in her place.

"Alright then Krokorok use Sand Tomb!"

"Trubbish use Toxic Spikes!"

Krokorok let out a belch of sand, trapping Trubbish, as the poison type laid poisonous spikes around the opponents feet.

"Trubbish use Toxic Spikes!"

"Krokorok use Crunch!"

Krokorok leapt forward, biting down on the trash Pokemon as more spikes scattered.

"Alright Trubbish use Sludge Wave!"

Trubbish let loose a sludge wave right into Krokorok's open mouth, causing the ground type to cough and release Trubbish.

"Krokorok use Rock Tomb!"

"Trubbish give it your all with one last Sludge Wave!"

Trubbish unleashed a final sludge wave at Krokorok before being trapped and pinned by the rocks in defeat.

"Poison vs ground, not a great matchup." Elliot admitted.

"Darumaka switch back in and use Fire Punch!"

Darumaka leapt back into the fight, launching herself at Krokorok, striking a quick blow.

"Krokorok use Crunch!"

Krokorok dove at Darumaka as she rolled out of the way.

"Darumaka keep that going with a Rollout!"

Darumaka spun around, striking into Krokorok as the ground type tried to keep track of the quick paced fire type.

"Krokorok use Rock Tomb!"

Krokorok grabbed the rocks from early, tossing them at Darumaka to no avail as the fire type spun into them with great force, knocking it back a small bit.

"Use Sand Tomb!"

Darumaka kept rolling, taking some damage from the Sand Tomb before slamming into Krokorok finally knocking out the ground type.

"Impressive, but your luck is running out. Zebstrika switch in and use Wild Charge!"

"Darumaka keep going with Rollout!"

Darumaka rushed forward towards Zebstrika, the two Pokemon colliding before Darumaka was sent flying back from Zebstrika's attack.

"Darumaka are you okay?!" Ash called out.

"Daru Daru." Darumaka said in a daze.

"Alright, Larvesta switch in!" Ash called out.

The bug type scuttled onto the field facing up against two much larger Pokemon than him.

"Zebstrika use Wild Charge!"

"Larvesta use String Shot!"

Larvesta spun out his web as fast as could, coating the area and Zebstrika in the sticky silk, the large electric type struggling to break free.

"That seems more powerful than it should be." Rosa admitted.

"I wonder." Elliot said, in thought.

"Don't say that and not elaborate!" Rosa exclaimed.

"If a triple and rotation battle work like a double battle, then all experience gained from a knockout would be shared between the three Pokemon." Elliot said.

"But Ash only knocked out Krokorok so far." Rosa pointed out.

"Yes and that was after Trubbish was defeated, now while it might not have been enough to make a drastic change to say Darumaka or even the likes of Pikachu, but to a newly hatched Pokemon like Larvesta, that's could be a world of difference." Elliot remarked.

"Experience by watching, I like it! Now Larvesta put it to use with an Ember attack!" Ash called out.

Larvesta let loose a flurry of embers, breaking apart his silk and freeing Zebstrika only causing minor damage.

"Though even shared experience can't make up for Larvesta's overall lower battle experience." Elliot admitted.

"Zebstrika use Stomp!"

Zebstrika stomped the ground in front of them sending Larvesta flying into the air as Darumaka rushed to catch them.

"Not bad Ash." Charles said.

"But he lost." Rosa pointed out the obvious.

"Life is full of losses. He won the first match, and I won this one, so we're technically tied." Charles said. "And as a heads up, the gym leader here Clay, he uses ground types like my Krokorok, if you plan to fight him, bring a team for that."

"Thanks Charles, I'll keep that in mind for tomorrow." Ash said, shaking the bikers hands.

"Clay." Elliot said in thought again.

"Elliot." Rosa complained.

"Sorry, I just, I remember that name but I can't remember why. I'm sure I heard someone at school talk about him." Elliot said. "I'm sure it's nothing though."

"Alright, but if you're withholding secret battle strategies from me, I'll know." Ash joked, as the trio went on their way.
