"Okay, we need a break." Ash said, flopping down onto the caves floor.
"Pi." Pikachu said a bit dizzy from the constant charging and discharging.
We find our heroes today still making their way through the Chargestone Cave on their way to Mistralton City, but it seems two of them are much more exhausted than the others.
"Come on we're getting close I can feel it." Elliot said.
"That's great Elliot, but Pikachu and I really need a break after all these rocks." Ash said in exhaustion.
"You know if you're so set on getting through here, you could check one of the two paths, if you see it keeps going or shows clear signs of heavy travel come back and tell us." Rosa offered, taking out some water to sip on.
"Good idea!" Elliot said.
"Wait, take Larvesta with you." Ash said. "Larvesta stick with Elliot and mark the path back here with your String Shot."
"Vesta!" Larvesta acknowledged, scattering up and onto Elliot's back, firing a glob of its string shot onto a nearby wall.
"Have fun and don't loose him." Ash said nonchalantly.
"You were saying that to Elliot right?" Rosa asked as Elliot left down the stairs.
"Sure." Ash responded.
A floor down
Alright Larvesta, let's see what's down here." Elliot said as the bug type continued marking their path.
"Okay all of you need to back up." A familiar man's voice said from around a wall.
"Someone needs help." Elliot said. "It's worth the risk. Porygon2 come on out!"
Elliot and Porygon2 quickly rounded the corner seeing a wall of gears blocking their path.
"Hello is someone on the other side?" Elliot called out.
"Yes, I was doing some research here, but it seems to have gone a bit too well." The man said.
"Alright, I'll help you out! Porygon2 use Psybeam!" Elliot called out.
Porygon2 fired a beam at the wall of gears causing them to only spin faster.
"Okay, new plan. Use Lock On!" Elliot called out. "Then use Ice Beam!"
Porygon2 took focus at the wall and fired a freezing beam at a set of gears causing them to lock up as the wall broke apart as a result, most of the remaining gear, now revealed to be Kling leaving in various directions.
"Are you alright?" Elliot asked rushing over.
"Elliot, what a small world, running into you again in here of all places." Colress said. "And is that your Porygon?"
"Colress hi, yeah it was actually that program you gave me that allowed Porygon to change, I call it Porygon2." Elliot said.
"Remarkable, I theorized my program would be compatible with Dr Akihabara and Silph Cos original programming, but I never imagined it would truly work." Colress said thoroughly impressed.
"So what were you doing down here, testing signals on Klinks, like you did those Crustle?" Elliot asked.
"Not quite, I'm actually here testing a different theory of evolution myself." Colress said. "Magneton come out!"
"Whoah, your Magnemite evolved." Elliot said in surprise.
"Yes, and I believe the electro magnetic forces of this cave could be enough to evolve it again, but when I tried, all those Klink started to gather around." Colress admitted.
"You know, I might have another idea." Elliot said, noticing the recovering Kline that had been frozen. "Pokeball, go!"
'Ding, ding, ding.'
"What is your plan with a single Klink?" Colress asked.
"Well they were approaching you in a wall, all moving in sync, what if one was moving in the opposite direction?" Elliot questioned.
"It wouldn't be nearly enough to stop all of the others on it's own." Colress pointed out.
"No, but it would slow them down enough for you to do whatever you need to evolve your Magneton. It's the least I can do considering it was your program that helped Porygon evolve earlier." Elliot offered.
"Very well then. Magneton use Magnet Rise!" Colress called out.
On cue the Klink started to regather, forming a wall between Elliot, Colress, and the exit.
"Alright Klink come out and turn the opposite way of them!" Elliot called out.
The newly caught Klink came out, moving much slower than the others, trying it's best to keep up to no avail, quickly being thrown back out of the wall.
"Plan B?" Elliot asked.
"That sounds like a better plan. Magneton use Thunderbolt." Colress called out.
"Porygon2 use Ice Beam!"
The two Pokemon fired off their attacks at the wall of Klink, as even Ash's Larvesta joined in, sending out a flurry of embers.
"It's happening." Elliot said as Magneton began to glow and grow.
"I was right, this caves field is similar to that of Mt Coronet in the Sinnoh region." Colress said as the newly evolved Magnezone appeared, sending out a blast of electricity, scattering the Klink once more.
"That is, wow, I mean I knew the field in this cave was impressive, but this is on a whole different level. Do you think there's a chance other regions have this kind of field as well?" Elliot wondered.
"It is a definite possibility." Colress said calmly.
"Vest." Larvesta commented, tugging on Elliot.
"Right, right, I promised I'd head back to my friends if this was a dead end." Elliot said. "Do you want to come along?"
"No, no it's quite alright, I still have some more work to do down here." Colress commented.
"Alright, well then I hope we cross paths again." Elliot said, heading back towards where Ash and Elliot were.
Once Elliot was gone, Colress pulled out a cell phone, making a call.
"Sir, the tests were a success. The stones and webs in here will be more than useful to your plan." Colress commented. "Yes, I know my report is late, I ran into a small issue." Colress added. "No, no, nothing we need to concern the Triad with, they seem harmless enough and don't suspect a thing." Colress said calmly. "Of course, I will begin phase 3 of my research right away sir."
