"Alright, everyone dig in." Ash said, setting down food for his Pokemon.
Pikachu and Mincinno hopped down from the picnic table as Dewott and Riolu stopped their sparring, even Herdier and Solosis who were enjoying the sunny day came over to eat, finally Braviary and Trubbish joined the gathered Pokemon to enjoy their pellets and tin cans respectively.
"Why can't there be more relaxing days like this one?" Rosa asked with a smile, looking at the nice weather and their gathered Pokemon.
"You know we've been making good progress today, we could probably take the afternoon to relax here." Ash said, with a relaxed sigh.
"Are you sure, what about the next movie?" Elliot asked.
"Not like a few extra hours here will kill the wait time." Ash said. "Besides when I spoke to Stu Deeoh, they were still getting all the permits, apparently they're working on getting a few city blocks for the final battle."
"Impressive." Rosa said. "Then I guess we can spend a bit of time here."
"Trub Trub!" Trubbish exclaimed, rushing up to Ash.
"Are you still hungry Trubbish?" Ash asked.
"Trubb!" Trubbish said in tears, pointing at Minccino who had taken and been cleaning all of the cans that were supposed to be Trubbish's lunch.
"Minccino! You can't do that, those are for Trubbish!" Rosa exclaimed.
"Min Min!" Minccino argued, stacking the now sparkling, empty, tin cans in a pile.
"Trubb!" Trubbish exclaimed in tears, rushing at the cans, only to be swatted back by Minccino's tails.
"Pika!" Pikachu said getting between the two.
"Grawf!" Herdier barked, before grabbing Minccino and pulling her away from Trubbish's cans.
"Alright Trubbish go and eat." Ash said.
"And you Minccino, you're in time out." Rosa said with a disappointed tone.
"Min!" Minccino said with a huff, sitting down, facing away from everyone.
A while later, most of the Pokemon and trainers were taking an afternoon nap, just enjoying the warm day as Trubbish was finishing his cans.
"Trub Trub Trub!" Trubbish sang, happily sliding another can into his mouth. "Trub?"
Trubbish watched as vines swirled around the tree, grabbing Minccino and pulling her away.
"Trub!" Trubbish exclaimed, rushing after them, tripping over a root, and rolling down hill, crashing into the kidnapping vines and freeing Minccino as they landed in a river down below.
Switching to them talking because I tried this with just them saying their names and it felt very hard to convey all of their emotions.
"Help! Help! I, I can't swim!" Minccino said, flailing about in the water.
"Just. Hold on." Trubbish said, as he kicked in the water, floating over to Minccino, grabbing onto her tails to gently pull the normal type back to the riverside.
"You're disgusting let go of me!" Minccino exclaimed, as they reached shore.
"You're welcome!" Trubbish said.
"It's probably your fault we're even in this mess!" Minccino argued.
"My fault, you were the one who got in trouble earlier, and then you got kidnapped! I rescued you!" Trubbish argued back.
"Well you shouldn't be eating those dirty cans, it's disgusting!" Minccino said. "Now I need to find some sand."
"Like this?" Trubbish asked, pointing at what they were standing on.
"No, not like this! It's too rough, and I need to dry off my fur!" Minccino argued. "You would know the importance of cleanliness if you tried once in a while!"
"Just find some sand, we need to find a way back to Ash and the others." Trubbish said, trying to see if he could climb the hill/cliff they'd rolled down.
"Help! Get away from me!" Minccino exclaimed.
"Seriously, I can't leave you alone for five seconds?" Trubbish asked, turning around to see a purple Pokemon with a red gem in it's center, spraying more water at Minccino.
"Sludge Bomb!" Trubbish exclaimed, sending a blob of sludge over Minccino, drenching the purple Pokemon, causing it to recoil back before blasting Trubbish with a stream of water. "Gyyah! Now take some Toxic Spikes!" Trubbish said, trying to create some distance between them.
Spikes were laid out covering the area between the two and the purple Pokemon, giving them a second to escape.
"Let's go!" Trubbish said, grabbing Minccino's hand again, pulling her along down the beach.
"But I'm still all wet and you're disgusting!" Minccino argued, breaking free.
"And if you have a better idea, I'd love to hear it, but our trainers will be looking for us soon, and we'll be in trouble if we're not back." Trubbish said, regripping Minccino's arm and trotting away from the beach as the purple Pokemon scattered his Toxic Spikes.
"Where are we even going?" Minccino asked as leaves and twigs were stuck in her fur.
"Up, we fell downhill, so we go up and hopefully find Ash and the others." Trubbish said.
"Just stop!" Minccino said in a huff. "I am wet, and dirty, and all kinds of disgusting, I need to clean off now!"
"Where, down at the beach, because last I checked, there's a Pokemon you angered down there looking for us." Trubbish reminded.
"I didn't anger them, I just tried to clean a smudge on their gem for them, they should be thanking me, like I did with those cans earlier." Minccino said proudly.
"You can't just go around cleaning wherever you want without consequences!" Trubbish argued.
"Of course I can, now if you'll excuse me. That patch looks like it will help remove the water from my fur." Minccino said, rushing through some bushes to a sandy hole.
"Minccino, come on!" Trubbish argued.
"Relax, I'm not hurting anyone." Mincinno said, pulling out a twig from her fur and tossing it into an opening, hearing it ting a few times as the opening glowed.
"Look out!" Trubbish exclaimed, shoving Minccino down as beams of fire and ice shot out above them.
"What's the big idea!?" Minccino argued, before seeing two rocky Pokemon float out of the cave.
"RUN!" Trubbish said, lifting up Minccino and running back the way they went, only to see the Purple Pokemon spinning towards them.
"Not that way! Not that way!" Minccino argued, causing Trubbish to run in another direction altogether, dodging the water attack as well.
A bit of running and climbing later
"Okay, there is that tree, once we're there, we'll be back with Ash and Rosa." Trubbish said, catching his breath.
"Well come on then, move it!" Minccino argued.
"ENOUGH!" Trubbish said angrily. "This entire day which should have had us relaxing has been terrible because of you! You stole my lunch and then somehow angered a Pokemon enough for them to kidnap ONLY you! Then you angered the purple one, and those two floating rock Pokemon! And I, I have been trying to be nice and just get us back all day and you've done nothing but yell at me!" Trubbish exclaimed in tears. "Do you not see their glowing eyes, those are psychic types! I'm a poison type, I can't beat them!"
"Trubbish." Minccino said scared.
"NO! I'm tired of trying to play nice with you when you don't even deserve it!" Trubbish argued. "I was a part of this group before you and yet you act so high and mighty, but I bet you don't know the first thing about any of the other Pokemon aside from yourself!"
"Trubbish!" Minccino said, pointing behind him.
"What?!" Trubbish exclaimed, turning to see the three Pokemon from earlier, along with a Pokemon made up of vines with a can sticking out of it's head. "That." Trubbish said in shock. "Toxic Spikes!" Trubbish said, belching up a flurry of toxic spikes that two of the Pokemon floated over, while the purple created a strong wind to dissipate them.
"Alright kid, get out of the way and let us give the Minccino what it has coming." The vine Pokemon said.
"No!" Trubbish said, standing his ground.
"Really, after the yelling you just did? I figured you'd be happy to see them get beat up." The vine Pokemon chuckled with the others.
"Maybe she does deserve it, but she's a part of my crew, and crews watch out for one another." Trubbish said. "Minccino get to that tree, get Braviary and Pikachu, and everyone you can to get here fast, I'll hold them off!"
"Get him." The vine Pokemon said, as the other three fired elemental beams at Trubbish knocking him back.
"Trubbish!" Minccino exclaimed.
"Run!" Trubbish said, before firing a flurry of Sludge Bombs at the larger quartet of Pokemon.
Minccino began scurrying, leaping from branch to branch, trying to get away.
"Not so fast!" The vine Pokemon said, wrapping his arm around her, dragging her back down.
"Let go of her!" Trubbish yelled, rushing and slapping the vine Pokemon several times, doing little to stop it.
"Cute that you think you can stop me, best that you just forget about her and go back to your trainer." The vine Pokemon taunted.
"I said, let go!" Trubbish said, slamming into the vine Pokemon, knocking them back and freeing Minccino.
"That's it!" The vine Pokemon exclaimed, swiping at Trubbish, breaking his bag a bit. "Hold her, I'm going to take this little guy out myself."
"TRUBBISH!" Minccino exclaimed, as she was held in the air.
"Say goodnight!" The vine Pokemon said, raising both of it's arms up before slamming them down on Trubbish, the small poison type, barely holding together as he held back.
"I will never stand by and watch a bully like you or Mandibuzz again!" Trubbish exclaimed, as he began to glow and grow, throwing the vine Pokemon off of him.
"Trubbish, gag, you evolved!" Minccino exclaimed, gagging slightly at the poison types smell.
Up on the hill
"Ughh, what is that?!" Rosa exclaimed, plugging her nose.
"It wasn't me." Ash said.
"I would hope not, that smells rotten, literally." Elliot said.
"Hey, where's Minccino?" Rosa asked.
"And Trubbish is missing too! Trubbish!" Ash realized, running towards the stench.
Back with Minccino and Trubbish
"Now let my friend go!" The evolved Trubbish said, raising his hand as a shot of rotten garbage fired from each of his three fingers, striking the two floating Pokemon and the purple one, freeing Minccino from their psychic grasps.
"Minccino!" Rosa exclaimed, seeing it surrounded by five large Pokemon.
"Whoah, not good. Starmie, Lunatone, Solrock, and a Tangrowth." Ash said.
"And a Garbodor." Elliot commented.
"A what now?" Ash asked.
"Garbodor, the evolution of… Trubbish." Elliot informed.
"Trubbish is that you?!" Ash called out, the Garbodor turned with a smirk and nod. "Alright then! How about some backup?!" Ash said, as Braviary and Pikachu rushed onto the scene. "Pikachu use Thunderbolt! Braviary use Super Power! Garbodor use Sludge Bomb!"
Pikachu sent out a bolt of electricity at Starmie, sending them flying as Braviary did the same to the Lunatone and Solrock.
"Hey, this is mine." Garbodor said, grabbing his can lodged in Tangrowth. "And to quote you."
"Say goodnight." Minccino chimed in, hopping on top of Garbodor's head as he blasted Tangrowth away with a sludge bomb.
Back at the campsite
"Garbodor, I, can we talk?" Minccino asked cautiously.
"You look clean again." Garbodor commented.
"Yeah, Rosa brushed me, I feel better on the outside now." Minccino said.
"On the outside?" Garbodor asked.
"You were right, I caused a lot of trouble today, and even when you were angry and could have left me, you never did." Minccino said looking down. "I'm sorry that I messed with your lunch, and caused you all that stress and pain. Can you forgive me?"
"Sure I can." Garbodor said, lifting the normal type into a hug.
"AGHHH! Let go of me you're more disgusting than ever!" Minccino cried out.
"Good, you deserve it!" Garbodor said with a chuckle.
Authors note
I loved writing the contrast between these two, Trubbish/Garbodor a Pokemon comprised of living filth, and Minccino a Pokemon known for being clean, and yes I did have to look up if Chinchilla's can swim in real life, they cannot. I probably will do one more of these Minccino and now Garbodor stories as I've done this one and the one where Minccino was caught, but time will tell on if it will come to a part three.
