I was wondering when someone was going to ask about Riolu, don't worry, he'll probably evolve soon. Maybe
"So where are we now?" Ash asked, as they approached a town as it was getting late.
"It's Lacunosa Town." Rosa said. "And empty?"
The trio walked into town to see that most of the streets were empty, and lights were out.
"Strangest stop on our journey yet by my guess." Elliot admitted.
"Maybe they go to bed early?" Ash questioned.
"All of them?" Rosa asked. "And did you notice how tall the gates around the town were, what is up with all of this?"
"Let's just focus on finding the Pokemon Center." Ash said, readjusting his jacket as a cold breeze swept through the street.
At the Pokemon Center
"Hello and welcome to the Pokemon Center, you three must be travelers." The Nurse Joy said, as the trio entered.
"Yeah, I'm guessing there's a reason you knew that." Ash said, as he placed his Pokeballs on a tray the Nurse Joy had laid out.
"Yes, it's an old legend but one with enough truth to keep the town on guard." The Nurse Joy said, as she took the three trays.
"Does it also have anything to do with those walls surrounding the city?" Rosa asked, seeing the Nurse Joy nod as she gave the trays to an Audino to get the Pokemon looked at.
"It all started a long time ago, and the legend has to do with the large crater to the north east of the town." The Nurse Joy said, pointing to a painting of a large crater. "Legend is that a meteor landed there creating what we call the Giant Chasm."
"That doesn't explain the walls or empty streets though." Ash said.
"She's getting to it obviously." Rosa commented.
"Yes, did you notice the cold wind at all blowing in?" Nurse Joy asked.
"Yeah, right when we entered, and again when we found the Pokemon Center." Ash said.
"That wind comes from the Giant Chasm. Legend says that the meteor was in fact a mighty beast, capable of freezing the entire region with it's power, and it devours those who venture to close at night." Nurse Joy said.
"And since this town is so close to the chasm it would make sense to be cautious of those tales." Ash realized.
"But there has to be logical proof behind this, I mean sure the cold air can be explained, but disappearances is an entirely different thing. Isn't it just as likely that someone leaving home in the middle of the night has left for an entirely other reason than just because a monster took them." Elliot countered.
"Elliot relax, we were going to spend the night anyways so who cares if they have a weird legend to keep little kids from going out at night, true or not." Ash said. "Can we get some rooms for the night?"
"Of course, here you are." The nurse Joy said handing them each a room key.
Later that night
"Alright, alright, hold on. Which one of you wants out for a midnight trip this time?" Ash grumbled, reaching for the balls on the nightstand, grabbing the shaking one to notice it wasn't a Pokeball. "Zekrom?" Ash whispered, before realizing the implications. "Okay, okay, I'm guessing you want to go to whatever is in that chasm." Ash said, pulling on his jacket, and grabbing his Pokeballs. "We should be back before Rosa and Elliot wake up, so let's go guy." Ash said as Pikachu hopped onto his shoulder.
Outside the Pokemon Center
"Alright Braviary come on out." Ash said, sending out his flying type.
"Bra." Braviary yawned.
"I know it's late, it's a long story but we need to find a giant crater nearby, think you can find it and fly us there?" Ash asked.
"Viary." Braviary said, getting into a position to allow Ash and Pikachu onto his back before taking off.
Above the crater
"Look down there, I can see something." Ash said, noticing swirling mists in the moonlight.
"Bra!" Braviary exclaimed, diving out of the way of a blast of ice that shot right at them.
"Okay, something is definitely down there, go in for a landing!" Ash said, holding on tight.
As Braviary descended to the ground, Ash watched as his breath became visible from the cold in the area.
"Alright Braviary return, you might be our ticket out of here still and I don't want you exhausted when that happens." Ash said, recalling the flying type to their Pokeball.
"KYAAA!" A roar echoed through the chasm as another cold blast blew through.
"Be careful Pikachu, whatever made that roar, I'm guessing is what has Zekrom so active, at least for him." Ash said, holding the dark stone in one hand, the orb shaking slightly, reacting to Ash's electrical aura.
"Pi." Pikachu said, staying strong on Ash's shoulder as the two made their way close to the center of the chasm.
Elsewhere
"Sir, we have found the gray dragon." A ninja like trainer said, kneeling in a throne room, quickly joined by two other identical trainers.
"Good, we will depart right away." A cloaked man with green hair and an eye patch said. "Colress, prepare the control rods in case we need them."
"Of course Lord Ghetsis, shall I inform Master N?" Colress asked.
"No, this part of my plan is of no concern to him." Ghetsis said, as he looked out the window.
Back in the chasm
"What is that thing?!" Ash exclaimed, seeing a gray creature breathing freezing air out around them, an icy arena forming around it.
"KYAAA!" The creature roared once more, the Dark stone reacting with it.
"Zekrom, you've never been this active." Ash said in surprise, the Dark stone reacting to his reaction. "Alright, Pikachu just like we did with Thundurus." Ash said, activating his aura power.
"Pi Ka Chu!" Pikachu exclaimed, sending a bolt of electricity through his trainer, super charging the Dark stone as it began to glow a blue hue before growing into Zekrom, the dragon flying right at the gray creature.
"Wait, we don't know what that thing is!" Ash exclaimed, seeing Zekrom slam head first into the other Pokemon.
"KYAAA!" The creature roared, slashing at Zekrom as the black dragon flew up and out of the way.
"Pikachu let's help where we can! Use Iron Tail!"
Pikachu raced forward as Zekrom fired a Fusion Bolt, zapping the gray icy creature before they were then again struck by Pikachu's tail.
"Zekrom look out!" Ash said, noticing tendrils coming out of the gray creature right for him.
Zekrom turned, seeing the tendrils, letting out a blast of blue electricity as the tendrils tore into him in an explosion of ice and electricity.
"Zekrom, are you okay?" Ash asked, coughing as he waved away some smoke, noticing the Dark Stone on the ground next to a similar sized orb. "Is that another Dark Stone, or a Light Stone?" Ash asked, walking over, only to be stopped as several spears pierced into the ground from above. "Oh no." Ash said, seeing a ship up above him as a group of five people descended from it. "Guys, we've got a battle, come on out and protect the stones!" Ash said, swiping all of his Pokeballs, sending Braviary back out, along with Serperior, Darmanitan, Garbodor, and Dewott.
