After thinking about it, Angel, who didn't know Buffy had been assigned to kiddie escort duty, decided she was probably at the Bronze since vampires avoided Halloween, which would allow her a night off from patrolling and headed there hoping to find her. Only to discover more chaos and to his disappointment, no Buffy. So if she wasn't at home and she wasn't at the Bronze that left the Library. Ignoring the chaos at the Bronze, he headed for the Library, certain that this time he'd find Buffy.

Princess Buffy studied the spines of the books on the shelves. "Mr. Giles spoke true when he said he had many books on Magic." She told Dr. Strange. "There are also a number of scholarly works on known demons. Which makes sense, if demons are trying to open this Hellmouth he mentioned, than it follows that being able to identify those demons and know their weaknesses will help ensure they are prevented from opening it."

"I've had to deal with demons a few times myself as well." Dr. Strange replied. "It's odd though that this Hellmouth is unknown to me. I'm familiar with rifts in reality and have helped close some of those as well, but I've never heard of one called the Hellmouth. I wonder how long it's been here? And who all guards it, because a Librarian can not be the only Guardian of something like this. He provides knowledge and resources, but others would do the actual job of guarding it, I would think."

"Knights and warriors." Princess Buffy agreed. "But there are also general education books and a number of storybooks as well, which also makes sense as this is a school library. My father saw to my education and I never attended an actual school, but to attend one with such a thing as this Hellmouth must be a challenge indeed."

"A frightening thought." Dr. Strange murmured. "The Magic that caused this is very chaotic. I know a couple of witches that practice chaos Magic, but neither would do something like this to children. And this book you found on the floor also has traces of the chaos Magic on it."

"Did the Magic create it?" Princess Buffy asked, pulling a story book from the shelf and reading the description on the back cover.

"It may have or altered it in some way, perhaps." He replied, thumbing through it, he froze as he read the spell on the page. "By the Vishanti! If the Magic created this than it may have done us either the greatest service ever or condemned us all!" He exclaimed.

"Why?!" Princess Buffy dropped the book she was holding and spun around. "What is it?"

"A spell from the Darkhold, a book of spells created by the Elder God Chthon, who may actually have been a very powerful demon rather than a god."

"It's evil?!" Princess Buffy stared at the book Dr. Strange was holding.

"If the one invoking the spell isn't strong enough or powerful enough, this spell could destroy their soul." He answered, both intrigued and terrified. "It's the complete Montesi Formula, a spell that can destroy vampires."

"Like the creature that succeeded in opening the Hellmouth before? The one Mr. Giles spoke of."

"Yes, like that foul creature." Dr. Strange silently studied the spell. "I need time to study this spell, as Sorcerer Supreme, I may just be strong enough to cast it without repercussions, but I would not dare cast it without being certain. The Darkhold corrupts almost everyone tempted by it."

"Than take the time necessary." Princess Buffy advised. "Even though ridding the world of vampires would be a good thing, is it worth the cost of a man's soul?"

"A wise question, Princess." Dr. Strange looked up at the young girl and then jumped out of the chair. "Princess, look out, there's a vampire behind you!" Sensing the darkness in the creature and seeing the Magic of a curse.

Princess Buffy spun once more and saw a very handsome and very pale man standing behind her, gasping, she backed away from him. Holding her fingers up in a cross shape she sharply rebuked the creature. "Stay back, demon! I will not go willingly into the long night!"

"Buffy? What's wrong with you? It's me, Angel." The creature knew her name! Terrified, but determined to hold her ground, Princess Buffy kept her fingers in the cross shape. "If you mean to open the Hellmouth, you will find that though we are not its usual protectors, we are willing to fight for our world!" She warned the creature.

Seeing no recourse and refusing to let the creature have the brave young, if transformed, Princess, Stephen Strange, Sorcerer Supreme, called out the spell, praying he was strong enough to hold onto his soul.

"Daemoneth chthon...dibilibus rhalhma...infernibus invohileth...calthnum terbolec."

"Holo erasma rabis katerama lucem dei paradoxis satannicus belgrem!"

Angel twisted in pain as the spell drew power from the same place the spell that brought it into existence had.

The Hellmouth.
