A/N A reviewer suggested that I might want to arm all members of the group. I've been studying the marvel wiki to determine who should get what from the items in Xander's keeping. Bear in mind some of these items were probably never in any Sanctums or under the Sorcerer Supreme's protection but the transformation spell did draw on Xander's comic book knowledge and Magic can extrapolate. 😁

Description of Dragonfang comes from the picture on the Marvel wiki.

While Buffy was enduring an uncomfortable meal with her family and Ted, her mother's new boyfriend, Xander had invited Cordelia over to discuss something important.

"So, I gave Buffy something that might help keep her safe if this Ted guy turns out to be dangerous." Xander handed Cordelia a box. "But I want to make sure everyone who matters to me is safe."

"Presents, you can't go wrong with presents." Cordelia grinned.

"It's not jewelry, but it's pretty in its own way." Xander grinned back as Cordelia opened the box to find...a sword?

"A sword? I don't know how to use a sword."

"With this sword, that doesn't matter." He answered. "It's called Dragonfang. It's said it was carved by a wizard from the fang of an extra dimensional dragon and it's nearly indestructible."

"Wouldn't it be better to give this to Buffy?"

"Buffy already has the kind of advantages this sword can give a person." Xander explained. "Dr. Strange gave the sword to Valkyrie and Lady Sif also used it. They're both from Asgard, where Thor comes from."

"The god?"

"Yes, anyway besides being indestructible, the sword can absorbs Magic if it comes in contact with the blood of a Magic user. It can destroy pretty much any barrier. And here's why Buffy doesn't need it, the sword has the ability to magnify an individual's melee ability using weapons of any kind, enabling a host of semi decent combat ability to challenge the divine. Meaning, as long as you have that sword, you'll have the instinctive knowledge of other kinds of weapons too."

"It'll make me a Slayer?"

"In terms of skills and ability and strength, stamina and resistance to injury." Xander answered. "As long as Dragonfang is in your possession, you'll be a skilled warrior, well able to protect yourself and others. You can stay safe."

Cordelia examined the sword, Xander was right, it was pretty. It was also lethal looking. The grip was red with gold cross hatching, at the base was a fancy piece of metalwork. The hilt had miniature carved axes. The blade wasn't very long but it had two rows of teeth on either side. It was a lethally beautiful weapon. "Anything else I should know about it?"

"If it works the way it does in the comics, you can recall it to your hand if you drop it and you can use it to call a ride."

"What kind of ride?"

"Let's go outside and try it." Xander suggested with a grin, hoping it worked.

Once outside Cordelia looked around. "So, how exactly does it summon a ride for me?"

"Just concentrate on calling it to you."

"I have no idea how to - come to me, I'm calling you." Amazingly, it actually worked and for once in her life, Cordelia Chase was speechless as a Pegasus appeared in front of her.

"Gggggh." She gasped and blinked. "Xander?"

"Yeah, honey?" She could hear the damn grin in his voice!

"There's a horse with wings here, right? I'm not hallucinating? You didn't slip something in my drink?"

"No, on both counts. It's called a Pegasus, a horse with wings and it's yours."

Miiiiiine?!"

"It came when you called it, now it's yours."

"What do I do with a winged horse?!"

"Take care of it the way you would a real horse." He suggested, still with that damn grin on his face. "And ride it. You own a horse, riding it isn't that different. Except for the flying part."

"It's beautiful." Cordelia breathed and it was. The Pegasus was silvery white with dark hooves, a flowing white mane and tail. And those wings, white, feathery wings. Absolutely beautiful. It didn't have a halter or a saddle on it and she'd have to figure out how to get them made and damned if she wouldn't find a way.

But that wasn't going to stop her from riding it now. She moved to the Pegasus's head and gently stroked it. She thought the palomino horse Daddy had bought her was beautiful. The Pegasus was in a whole different category of beautiful. Cordelia gently murmured to the beautiful creature as she studied the wing design and how it joined to the back and realized she could ride with her knees in front of the joint and have a solid seat.

"Give me a leg up!" Xander cupped his hands and she stepped onto them and swung her leg over the back. She reached out her hand and using her new strength pulled Xander up behind her. He clasped her waist as she grabbed two handfuls of the mane.

"Whoohoo!" It's probably a good thing the Sanctum was outside of Sunnydale because even the people of Sunnydale would've noticed a flying horse carrying two teenagers across the nighttime sky.
