Chapter 2

A beginning of something

Chuck was interested yet confused about what he had experienced at the club with Blair. He didn't pay much attention to it since he didn't see Blair often. He was aware of her obsession with Nate, who was not reciprocating the feeling. Chuck snapped out of his thoughts and paid attention to Nate's friends.

Nate's friends kept insisting for Chuck to show them the hottest girls in the club, but the only thing Chuck could think of was how Blair left the club angrily. He got his mind off of it and said: ''Okay guys, the hottest girls are over there.'' He pointed out to the darkest place in the club. ''I guess it's your time to leave, Nate.'' Serena said. ''Why?'' Nate asked simply. ''I don't think Blair would want you to look at other girls.''. The truth was that she didn't want him to do that, she was not sure about Blair though. ''Does she love him truly or not?'' Serena asked herself. While the boys went to the other side of the room, Nate took Serena's face in his hands and kissed her on the spot. Chuck couldn't keep his anger in anymore, so he snapped at the same time as Serena ''What do you think you're doing?!'' exclaimed Serena, after she obviously kissed him back. ''That's so unfair for Blair, Nate! Tell her you want to break up already…'' Chuck hated the fact that Nate was cheating on Blair for a long time now. ''Since when do you care?" Nate asked Chuck, who didn't show his anger towards him about what he was doing until then. ''Serena, you know you love me.'' Nate finally replied to Serena, even though she was the first one to say something. ''Yeah… I can't deny it, but I do not want to lose my best friend. Either you tell her, or you won't ever have me. Blair has to approve of us, or else this affair won't continue.''.

Chuck admired Serena for putting a stop to Nate's actions. Chuck felt the need to give them some privacy to talk, so he made his way out of the club. Instead of going home, where he knew he would find Bart with a woman, he stopped at the nearest bar. He only left the club to avoid Nate's friends. He knew that Blair was at home bawling her eyes out, so right when he was about to tell her the whole truth, Gossip Girl did it for him. ''Be careful B… your relationship with Nate is on thick ice, and I only say one thing: S.''. Chuck was relieved he didn't have to rat out his best friend. When Chuck was having his third beer he got a text from Blair. ''You know anything about S and N? Don't lie, I know you do…''. Chuck rolled his eyes at her text. They never texted each other, and that was really odd for friends of ten years, but Chuck experienced the same thing he did at the club. The butterflies. ''Maybe.'' He answered simply. Before he got to see Blair's reaction his phone battery decided it's the best time to go off.

The next day.

Blair combed her hair in the mirror wondering about what she should do. ''Chuck won't tell me anything for sure, it's his best friend we're talking about… my stalker skills have to be used in this situation.'' Blair totally ignored all the calls she was getting from Serena. Serena kept her mouth shut for multiple reasons. ''Are you ready, Miss Blair?'' asked Dorota. ''Yeah, I guess. I am not ready emotionally.''. ''It's the first day of school after summer break, you must be happy!". Blair climbed down the stairs to see Eleanor working on some designs in the living room. ''Have a good day, Blair.'' ''You too, mom.'' ''Please tell Nate to accept my invitation a bit quicker.'' Eleanor added. ''What invitation?" Blair asked only for it not to be suspicious. ''He didn't tell you? I invited him to a photo shoot next week.'' ''Oh, we're not really on talking terms right now.''. Before Eleanor got to ask more Blair took the elevator. Blair was hurt by the fight she had with Nate, but the night gave her more time to think about what happened at the club. ''Maybe I overreacted?''. She was having second thoughts, but she had to get to school. When she entered the gates she was greeted by her minions: Hazel, Penelope, Nelly and another three girls. ''Is Gossip Girl right?" asked Hazel. ''Gossip Girl? There are no new blasts.''. ''There actually are.'' Penelope said while holding her phone so Blair could read. Blair was so shocked that she muttered something that couldn't be understood. At the same time Serena took Penelope's phone and said: ''This is obviously fake.'', and left without further explanation. No one said anything and the silence took over the group of teenage girls. Everyone went to class and the day was over pretty quick, but Blair only thought about Nate the whole day. On the other hand, Nate's eyes followed Serena's every move. At the end of the day Chuck went up to Blair, still mysterious. ''You over Nate?'' he simply asked. ''What is that stupid question supposed to mean? We didn't break up.'' Blair said more unsure than ever.'' ''Then what are you right now?". Blair left before she answered the question. ''I know Chuck won't ever tell me what's going on between them.'' She thought. Blair took a limo home alone, without a friend that would listen to what happened to her. The truth was she didn't have any true friends except Serena, who also proved her wrong. ''Nate's house please.''. When the limo parked in front of his house Blair's heart shattered in millions of pieces. Serena and Nate were kissing passionately. Blair, who was full of rage at the moment took a photo of them and posted it on Gossip Girl. In a few minutes the blast went off. 'Ouch, B. Looks like karma came early this year, and it's wearing a Prada headband. Nate and Serena have been keeping secrets, but did you really think posting the proof would make it hurt less? Looks like Blair wanted revenge, but all she got was humiliation. Stay strong, B... or at least fake it.'' Blair started crying and she couldn't control herself anymore. She pushed the car door open and yelled: ''What do you think you're doing?! With Nate?! Don't you have any other boy you could do that with, you whore!'' She yelled so the whole parking lot would hear. Before they got to calm her down Blair was in the car again. At least she said what she wanted to. Her makeup was ruined as more tears made they way down her cheeks. The worst part was that she always had a feeling that something was going on, but she could never prove it. That stung her more than the actual hook up between Serena and Nate. All she wanted to do was eat ice cream and watch a love drama movie. Dorota got everything ready for her, since she knew how seeing Nate would end up. Blair just jumped in the bed and jugged one of her pillows tightly.

Two weeks later

''I have to talk to someone. I can't seem to get over Nate despite all the methods I tried. His best friend… Chuck… He knows things about Nate that I don't… He can make me hate him so it's easier!''. Blair was convinced that it was the best idea, but she didn't know who she was really going to see. As Blair was explaining why she needed to see him quickly over the phone, Chuck only nodded and said: ''Fine, fine. I can tell you a bunch of things.''. What Blair did not know was that Chuck was using this as an excuse to get to know her more. ''Why is she so interesting? What is wrong with me? Am I…NO…I couldn't ever.''. The thought that crossed his mind was an interesting yet a Non- Chuck Bass one. ''Falling in love'' was the word he was searching for? Maybe, Maybe not. Or at least he was not aware of that yet. Blair knocked at his door and a servant opened it. ''Hello.'', he greeted her, signalling her to take a seat on one of the two chairs he had prepared. ''So… spill the tea.''. ''Well, I can tell you all the things he did with Serena, but refused to do with you. They hooked up multiple times behind your back. They kissed after you had left the club that night.''. Chuck stated. ''What?! They kissed after I had left?! I must have heard wrong!''. Blair was in the denial stage. ''Why are you so shocked at the second thing I said? Didn't you hear the first that's so much worse?'' Chuck was surprised at her light reaction. ''Yeah… but Nate and I already discussed that and got over it, but I didn't know that he was still kissing Serena!''. ''Ow… that mush have stung.''. They talked and talked about Nate and Serena's recent affair until they got over the subject and talked about themselves more. It was not like Chuck was telling Blair things about Nate that she didn't know, he was just forcing her to accept reality. When you are doing something or saw something and no one says it out loud, it's like it never happened. That is what Blair was going through. ''Is Chuck soft-hearted? No… he can't be.''. At the moment they were talking about Chuck. ''Oh, like you haven't done that with multiple girls!" Blair exclaimed jokingly. ''Yes… but no girl was as beautiful as you…''. Blair couldn't hide her surprise at the statement Chuck made. ''Is he serious?'' she thought. ''I think you've done the reality check on me enough… I should go.'' Blair wanted to find an excuse to leave immediately. ''Yeah, no problem. Bye.'' Chuck tried to be nonchalant again, but his lover boy heart was already too obvious to be hidden again. Her heels were clicking as she walked away from him, and he couldn't think about something else than her. ''Am I…?'' He was not brave enough to even think it, so zero chances for him to say it.

In the evening

''I guess you've come to drown your sadness?'' asked Chuck teasingly. ''Yeah… why else? You helped me today, thanks.'' Chuck only realised a heart-warming feeling took over him when he heard her thank him. ''No problem.''. ''Cheers.'' And their glasses clicked. As Blair was taking a sip from her drink she noticed Chuck looking at her constantly. ''Why are you looking at me with those eyes?'' Blair asked. ''What eyes?'' Chuck acted clueless. ''I won't strip for you, take your mind off of it.''. ''What? No, that's not the case.''. She didn't seem like she believed him, but as he thought about it more he actually didn't want that… for the first time, he wanted her, but not in that way, he only wanted her to be his, and his only. ''Dreaming of that girl?'' Blair joked, referring to a hot girl who was talking to a barman. ''Dreaming of you…'' ''What?'' Blair blinked a few times. Chuck smiled at her, but he soon realised she might think that he wanted her V card and nothing more. ''You get grosser by the second...'' ''I meant of Yuri, a girl up there.'' Blair lifted an eyebrow and laughed it off, but she had no clue why she felt like something in her broke. ''You're not serious. What if I tell you that I noticed your shy looks?'' Blair teased. Chuck rolled his eyes and chuckled. ''Oh you wish!" Suddenly Chuck was taken by surprise when Blair pulled him by his tie and gave him a kiss. Not a passionate one, yet not a peek. Both their hearts felt tied to one another with just a kiss.

End of chapter 2! It has more than 2000 words, my record! I hope you liked it, I am really proud of this chapter. Sorry for the inactivity tho! You could say that Chuck is not acting really ''Chuck Bass", but unlike the show, I wanted to make Chuck's character development from the beginning, so you could assume he did the things he had done in early season one already… this is more like a season 3 Chuck, not evil like the beginning, but not entirely ready for a relationship either!

Dear Inm8980, really sorry for the long wait, I hope it has worth it! Yes… I think I really surprised you with Chuck's choice. You'll see really romantic stuff between them (don't worry, it's not more than kisses). Thanks for the patience!
