Chapter seven:

April insisted Leo keeps the tent and the other turtles already knew a rule with it, so she thought it'd be wonderful for Leo to have for anytime he needs, which is to not bother Leo when he's in the tent to make it a calming space not invaded by others.

Leo is walking past the couch in the living room when the front door opens. He watches curious to who will enter.

Usagi walks inside glancing around. "It's just me!" He calls as if to ease any worry that an enemy found the lair. His eyes soon settle on Leo as their gazes meet. He closes the door and heads over to where Leo is currently standing. He opens his mouth to say something only to pause as he catches Leo's scent. His eyes scan the turtle up and down before returning to meeting his gaze.

"I had a sudden and late presentation." Leo explains causing Usagi to close his mouth with a nod.

"You could have told me." Usagi insists and Leo almost swears he seems to be thinking about something. He just doesn't voice it at all making the turtle curious.

"I will tell others outside of my family when I'm ready." Leo insists and Usagi almost argues it before seeming to decide against it.

"I see. Well not a big deal." Usagi shrugs and his eyes dart down a moment before looking back to Leo's gaze.

"Are you sure it's alright?" Leo isn't sure what to make of his friend quickly sweeping his eyes downward. He does trust him as Usagi hasn't given him a reason not to.

"Very sure." Usagi nods his head. "Say if possible we could head out together. I'll keep the alphas at bay and we can just hang out. Or maybe even a walk in the sewers?"

"Well we are allowed out as long as the omegas have an alpha coming with them." Leo admits not missing how Usagi lights up at that.

"Great!" Usagi speaks before Leo can say anything else. "I can watch out for you. So how about at least a walk together? Just to catch up?"

Leo slightly glances away to think if he feels ready to face the world above. He lets out a breath as Usagi must have great news to light up at being able to hang out. He knows that there are things only shared to him by the rabbit, so it isn't weird for said rabbit to want to head out alone together. "Let's try to stick to the sewers. Maybe we can try an area not populated though I don't want to face everyone yet. I want to settle in as an omega more before then."

"That's okay. Come on." Usagi nods his head towards the entrance.

"I just need to tell Splinter where I'm going." Leo heads away to tell Splinter who tells him to still be careful. He agrees and heads back to Usagi to which the two head out together.

At first they walk the sewers not really saying much to one other.

Leo does notice that Usagi keeps glancing around as if trying to find a good spot. He is curious though he doesn't say anything.

Finally Usagi's gaze settles on a spot. "Can we sit here?" He is already heading to sit in an area that is a turn in a secluded looking area; Well secluded for the sewers and where Leo's family goes through the sewers.

Leo heads over sitting down next to Usagi with their backs against a wall. "Okay. What's been on your mind? It seems important based on how you're acting."

"Well. I like someone. An omega actually."

"Oh! You met someone? That's exciting!" Leo is genuinely happy for his friend.

"Well we've known each other for a long time." Usagi shrugs as if it's not a big deal. "It's a guy before you ask." He tilts his head to look at Leo.

Leo doesn't really like the slight glint in Usagi's gaze. He isn't quite sure what it is though it feels bad to him. "What's that look for?" He feels on edge and he doesn't like feeling on edge around his friend.

"What look? What do you mean?" Usagi fully turns to face Leo with that glint not disappearing.

"You have this weird glint to your gaze and it's weirding me out." Leo tells his friend in blatant terms.

"Ah. Well it could be because I just can't help thinking about making the omega mine." Usagi is so calm saying that and it makes Leo feel like something is definitely not right.

"Well your first step is to ask the omega to date you. Then proceed like a good relationship." Leo reminds his friend who hums with a soft nod.

"Yes." Usagi slightly glances away making Leo feel just a small amount better. "I think I will then." He shifts to fully face Leo. "Go out with me."

Leo pauses in shock at what had just happened. He manages to recover after a moment of shock. "Don't practice on me!"

"Who said I was practicing?" Usagi meets Leo's wide eyes. "I've liked you for awhile though dating a beta as an alpha isn't ideal. You being an omega now fixes all those issues."

Leo now really feels awkward to be around the alpha. He decides that he needs to get out of there and back home fast. "Look Usagi. I prefer you as a friend. Nothing more. Don't take it personally."

"Who said I was asking?" Usagi's words cause Leo to blink in confusion. He lunges at Leo grabbing his arms trying to force him down. He fights against Leo resisting his attempt. "You're an omega. You should be flattered an alpha has taken interest in you. When an alpha tells you to go out with them the answer is always yes. Until I own you as only my omega that is." He is suddenly shoved off of Leo by a hard kick to the gut. He clearly didn't expect that much resistance as if his alpha status would make an omega obey.

Leo hurries away from him and runs off. He soon enough hears Usagi chasing him. He turns tossing a ninja star at the other who dodges the first one, only to get hit in the shoulder by the second. He swiftly spins with a foot low but stretched out using the small window from the shock of pain from the hit. His sweep makes Usagi fall onto his butt. He straightens swiftly taking off once more. He makes a sharp right turn and removes a plank of wood. He crawls through a pipe replacing the wood in its place once through making it look almost boarded up.

The pipe looks like a hole in the wall and has some twists and turns that even lead to dead ends.

Leo follows a specific path arriving to a secret room. He decked it out as an almost cozy reading or meditating area as a preteen. He sits on a blue beanbag chair with a sigh. He pulls out his phone texting Raph to ask him to pick him up. He even gives where he is located. He figures Raph will be best just in case Usagi is still out there. He knows Raph can beat Usagi in a fight, Usagi joined training a little and sparred with al of them, while Donnie has a chance of losing. He feels safer contacting Raph at this time. He leans back into the beanbag, aware for possible danger though trying to relax a bit. He truly hopes that he shook Usagi off. He has never seen this side of the other before. He doesn't understand what came over his friend. He almost wonders if maybe all alphas secretly have such thinking in their instincts. So he probably will get an apology from the rabbit who may not have realized how different he was acting. Though he does remember how his family reacts around him, even Raph alone with him, and no alphas there do that. So he scarps that idea and isn't sure what to think anymore.

Raph soon texts back telling Leo that he's in the area.

Leo texts back that he'll come out of hiding. He crawls back through the pipe and peeks out before fully coming out. He doesn't see Usagi which is a relief to him. He turns as his name is called only for Raph to run up to him.

"What happened? Didn't you head out with your alpha friend or whatever?" Raph tries to seem casual about it though Leo can tell that he's concerned.

"I did but Usagi started to act strangely. I've never seen him act that way before. At least to omegas."

"In what way? What happened?" Raph is more concerned about what had occurred. He listens as Leo explains what happened causing an angry look to flash across his face. "That bastard!" He growls out with his eyes narrowed.

"I don't understand why he would suddenly change how he treats others. Every other omega he's never once behaved like that around them." Leo glances down trying to understand what had happened.

"Maybe he just didn't have an interest in those omegas. Now he's showing his true colors." Raph suggests glancing around as if daring Usagi to make an appearance. "Alpha's like that will sometimes play dirty tricks to try to get what they want. Making an omega believe they're better than that then turn around once they're in their grasp."

Leo slightly flinches now wondering if Usagi is truly like that. He hates to think of his good friend that way. He doesn't really have many friends as he can count how many he has on one hand. He had thought that Usagi was truly better than this. He just can't help seeing Raphs point after what had happened.

Raph lets out a breath before pulling Leo close in a hug slightly surprising the other. "You can't always predict those that think like him. They can hide it well. At least you know none of us as your family will do that. You're safe with us." He soothes which does help Leo feel a bit better about it all. "Come on. Let's head home." He suggests pulling away from the hug.

Leo just nods his head and the two head off walking side by side.

Raph doesn't push Leo to talk. He clearly focuses instead on listening for any signs of Usagi.

Usagi doesn't have to follow them home as he knows where it is. Though he may follow them hoping for an opening if he truly is like those horrible alphas.

Leo can be glad that the sewers offer less hiding places. He does however doubt that this is the last he'll see of the mutant.

Alphas like that don't get easily scared off especially when an omega stops them. They may if it was another alpha, though it was Leo an omega who stopped him and got away; Not to mention that Leo is the target of Usagi so that will make his return more than likely.

Just as they approach the front door Raph puts an arm around Leo. They slow down to a stop a few steps away from the door.

"Hey. Leo?" Raph begins causing the eldest to turn to him only to see him just staring straight ahead. "We can put him on the list of not allowed in the lair if you're okay with that." He turns to meet Leo's gaze. "I don't want him to trick anyone and try to get you alone again. It's too dangerous. Who knows what tricks he'll play to try to get to you. Some alphas even manage to get their hands on drugs to use on omegas. I won't force you to tell the others though I want you to be safer from him."

Leo feels warm at seeing the protectiveness from Raph. He and the others know that despite Raph's temper he is a big protector of the family. He tends to get warm when it is shown towards him. He just isn't sure about the urge to move close to snuggle up against Raph. He doesn't want to freak him out at all. He speaks response as the other patiently waits for one. "Yeah. That's probably a good idea. Plus Sensei will be curious what happened since I'm returning with you."

Raph nods his head squeezing Leo's shoulder comfortingly before letting him go.

The two head inside and Splinter turns spotting them. They approach and Raph stays close while Leo explains what happened.

"I see." Splinter lets out a breath when the explanation is done. "That is unfortunate however it is how some alphas think. I'll let you two talk to the others though I'll make sure no one goes out with him. I do agree trying to keep him from the lair is a good idea. It can be easier said than done though."

"I understand." Leo nods his head wondering if Donnie will have an idea to help that.

"Thank you for informing me." Splinter heads off to his room for a bit.

Leo turns to Raph. "Can you talk to the others? I'd like a moment to rest after all the craziness." He is quite upset that his closest friend turned into a horrible alpha. He also is finding that all the smells of the others isn't helping him to calm down at all. He really needs a moment to try to clear his head.

"Yeah of course." Raph nods and watches Leo head to go to the tent. He walks away to start speaking to the others.

Leo settles down to be lying in the tent. He is resting on a bunch of the soft things inside the tent. His scent is really the only one there as other omega family members haven't really used the tent. He supposes it's because they're more used to being omegas than Leo is. He stares at some pillows in there before closing his eyes. He feels truly hurt that he lost his closest friend due to secretly being a horrible alpha. He tries to push any thoughts of it away which takes a slight bit to happen. He isn't quite sure when he ends up dozing off.
