Chapter 6 – The Choir of Death
At the prison office before Prides "interrogation"
"Felix!" A red head knight called out.
"Oh! Rienhardt" Felix replied.
"Felix, your eyes, you don't look very well"
"Are you ok?" Rienhardt asked with guilt and concern in eyes.
"I…I'm fine" Felix replied.
"I see" Rienhardt frowned at his reply.
"So, what is the brave sword saint doing at the prison office nya?" Felix asked Rienhardt.
Reinhardt looked troubled as Felix further prompted him.
"Don't tell me you still vouch for that witch cultist to have a fair trial" Felix lashed out
at Reinhart.
"With the help of my blessing of wind reading, I can guarantee the fact that he is in fact
not lying about his feats of defeating the Mabeasts" Rienhardt confirmed.
"A witch cult member killing its own associates nya, that's something too hard to believe
nya" Felix claimed in a shocked tone.
"Exactly, That's the part even I am unsure about" Rienhardt said with a troubling
expression.
"I won't be surprised if those monsters use some disgusting magic to somehow negate the
divine blessing" Felix spoke out in an angry tone.
"Felix!"
"Do you have any proof to support your claims?" Rienhardt asked.
Felix's expression quickly turned into a frown.
"Don't tell me you see that monster as a human Nya"
"Can't you see how many people have suffered; I saw them with my own eyes"
"They pleaded, they asked me to release them from their pain, I could save them" Felix
screamed with a broken voice
He held his head; His knees gave up.
"I can still hear their voices in my head"
Felix spoke as his mind started flashing events of the aftermath on that day.
"HELP ME!"
A scream came from far away
Felix ran towards it.
"HELP ME!" "HELP ME!"
Two other screams came from further away.
"Where are you?" Felix yelled for a reply.
But to his surprise there was no reply.
Suddenly Felix saw a fire in the distance and ran towards it in search of civilians calling for
aid.
His eyes widened as he held his nose, due to his demi-human qualities he could smell
better than normal humans.
He smelled burning bodies and blood; The stench was so foul he couldn't suppress his urge
to vomit on spot dirtying his knight uniform.
"Help Me!"
Felix Heard a cry of a woman; she was stuck under the broken building rubble.
He ran towards her.
Both her legs were crushed she cried.
"Don't worry I will save you" Felix promised the women.
"NO, Please I beg you save my son" She begged Felix
Her son was unconscious due to the heavy smoke and heat caused due to the fire.
"DON'T WORRY"
"I will call in reinforcements, more healers are stationed on the outskirts of the city for
backup" Felix proclaimed in desperation.
"Theres no time to save me, please I beg you just save my son"
"He is my hope, He is my everything, so just please please" She cried in desperation.
"BUT!"
"JUST GO!"
Felix decided to argue further but was cut off by her.
Felix slowly backed off; he was hesitant to leave her behind.
The women Smiled "THANK YOU"
"For saving my beloved son"
The rubble collapsed.
She was buried under the rubble.
Felix lost his mind, went into a frenzy and he couldn't save her.
Felix ran
He ran ways to save that single soul.
"SAVE ME!"
*CRIES*
*BLOOD*
"SAVE ME!"
As he is running, he hears multiple screams begging to him for help
His mind enters a trance

He was slowly losing his grip.
Due to his demi-human ears the screams of pain became louder and louder to him.
As if he was listening to a death Choir.
More healers came in to rescue the people from the fire
Seeing this Felix broke out of his trance and tightened his grip around the boy.
He escaped and soon saw the healers camp stationed.
"We need more healers here, ITS AN EMERGENCY!" Felix shouted with tears in his eyes.
More healers joined in as he, including other healers begin healing the boy.
"Someone, we need a healer"
As more and more civilians are brought in.
The healers came in short.
They somehow managed to stabilize the boy.
"He is stabilized as of now, But I can't guarantee a healthy life ahead due to the amount
of smoke he had to endure for od know how long" A healer spoke out.
"If I can use all of my mana, I still have chance to save this kid!" Felix proclaimed
"NO! you can't"
"You're the greatest healer and moreover there's more people we need to save" the
other healer claimed.
"But!" Felix cried out.
"Theres not but"
"We either cater to a single person and lose thousands of others or treat them equally"
The other healer spoke out.
"Felix-sama, it's not your fault, you may be the greatest healer but your still one person"
As Felix heard the other healers plea, he understood there was no room for argument.
He soon patched up the boy and moved to other civilians in need and the number of
injured civilians kept increasing.
"Felix!'
"FELIX"
"Are you ok?"
"Answer me" Reinhardt yelled snapping Felix out of his trance.
"Ah sorry Nya"
"I Just need some rest" Felix replied as he was heavily sweating.
"So, what you really here for?" Felix further probed Rienhardt.
"I just wanted to check up on you"
"Considering Julius situation"
Felix frowned as he continued
"Considering Crush-sama's condition"
Felix clenched his fists thrusting his nails into his fists as it almost dripped blood.
Rienhardt noticed this and he stopped any further mention of the casualties.
"There is no way they will get away that easily" Felix spoke.
"Yes" Rienhardt affirmed
Felix, shocked, looked up towards Reinhardt.
"Reports have been that the Sin archbishop has been located fleeing towards the Augria
Sand Dunes" Rienhardt claimed.
Felix eyes widened at the information he received.
"You mean the Pleiades Watch tower?"
"Isn't it where Emilia camp is headed?" Felix asked with concern in his eyes.
"Yes, and that is exactly why I am leaving tonight"
"I will come as well!" Felix spoke.
"No people here still need you, especially…" Rienhardt stopped in his tracks.
"I know Crusch-sama needs daily checkups" Felix frowned as he understood what
Reinhardt wanted to mention.
"Then its decided" Rienhardt spoke as he turned back and ready to leave.
"RIENHADRT!" Felix called out.
"Please be safe"
"You can trust in me Felix" Rienhardt assured him.
Its not like Felix didn't trust Reinhardt's abilities, but deep in his mind he still was
concerned for his friend after Julius's memories were eaten.
He could help neither his lady nor his friend.
And he would drown in his already existing guilt if he lost another one of his friends due to
this.
Felix looked at Reinhart's back as he walked off in the dark hallway of the prison.
