"Shocket you alright, what's on your mind. Is it about your dad." Shocket heard Linda ask.
It was later that day and they were at Darcy and Howard's house but Shocket was anxious as her dad wasn't back yet from his mission which made her concerned alomg with many thoughts on her mind having a worried look on her furry face which Linda got. She knew how much Shocket was connecting with her dad so understood her anxiety hugging her tight. "Don't worry Shocket as he'll be back soon." Linda reassured her making Darcy and Howard nod.
"Sometimes we feel how you feel, Shocket when our lil Byrdie is doing hero stuff. Your dad is very good at what he does." Howard reassured Shocket making her nod as they were having a snack, noticing the lack of rice krispue squares and tang like at her house which Linda got. "Your dad just texted, he'll be home soon." Howard said relieving Shocket wiping tears from her eyes which Darcy got seeing Rocket there hugging her.
"I'm okay kiddo, but get you were worried about me." Rocket told her.
"That's good, but see you had fun with Linda along with Aubt Darcy and Uncle Howard." Rocket told her.
"Uh-huh, I was scared aboht you, n case you didn't come back. Are you okay." Shocket told him.
"Awwwww I'm fine sweetie, I'm a Guardian and brave. I have to go to the library tomorrow.." he told her.
Shocket was curious, and excited about going to the New York Public Library giving Rocket one of his crazy yet brillant ideas about getting her a library card so she could check out storybooks as Linda had told him, Shocket could kind of read so Rocket could read to her which would be cosy for them along with relaxing him after missions but Shocket when her anxiety overtook her like today seeing her cuddling a stuffie of him. "It was Linda's idea and I love it." Shocket told him relieving him.
"I am Groot, I am Groot." Rocket heard a familar voice say seeing Groot.
"Yes Groot that's Shocket your niece. Where'd she go." Rocket said.
"Is that Groot gonna hurt us. Why's he here, did Tivon send him." Shocket said scared.
She was hiding hugging her Rocket stuffie close to her heart making Groot feel bad. He hadn't meant to scare Shocket plus had brought a bag of books making Rocket smirk. "Ssshhh sweetie, Groot's my best bud and family. He was just excited to meet you because I told him about you along with needing to return books." Rocket reassured Shocket seeing her staring at Groot sensibg if her dad trusted Groot, she could too. "Hi I'm Shocket, sorry I was scared as I've never met a Groot before." she told him making Groot smile.
"I am Groot, I am Groot. " she heard him say. "He says hi and that he wants to b3 friends.
All he can say is I Am Groot. I'll teach you Groot talk." Rocket said yawning.
He was then ordering pizza as it'd been a long day for him and Shocket, happy Groot was here getting an idea he would talk to him about, once and if Shocket fell asleep seeing her drinking soda belching making her giggle along with Groot seeing he had a Nintendo Switch in his backpack making Rocket smirk. "He already had game time after doing chores so he has to wait but he loves books and art." Rocket said making Shocket impressed by this.
That next morning, Shocket was awake remembering she was going on an adventure with her dad making excitement tingle through her furry body getting up but her stomach was demanding food entering seeing Groot up eating MODOK Puffs making her curious as what was in Groot's bowl looked good pouring some into a bowl for herself pouring milk drowning the cereal sitting down and eating as Rocket entered smirking that Shocket was eating MODOK Puffs knowing Groot had introduced her to it plus he had Rice Krispues squares for later when they came back from their adventure. "Groot Morning and see somebody slept the whole night which is good." Rocket told Shocket making her smile having milk on her furry lip which made him and Groot smirk.
After leaving, they were heading to the New York Public Library only the stone lions outside made her nervous until her dad exlained they were the guardians of the library which she liked as they went inside..
