"Well Max, apparently you've acquired super strength of some sorts. How and why? Still trying to figure that out." Max thought to herself as she left her dorm.
After taking some time to calm down and collect her thoughts, she figured she could use a task to get her mind off things. It was then she remembered the flash drive filled with films that Warren Graham, her friend and classmate, recommended she watched. After clearing up a misunderstanding between her dormmates Dana Ward and Juliet Watson, she was able to get back the flash drive. She texted him and told him to meet her in the parking lot.
"I wonder if I should tell him what happened earlier? He knows everything about comic books and superhero films." Max wondered to himself.
As she started to walk past Alyssa, she noticed Zackary launched a football towards her.
And like instinct, she caught it effortlessly from behind Alyssa, who looked at her with surprise.
"Would you guys watch where you throw this thing! You're going to hurt someone!" Max said frustration. She wasn't sure how hard she could throw it with her newfound abilities, but she didn't want to chance it at the moment, so she simply dropped it on the ground.
"Geez! Sorry!" Zachary said with annoyance as he grabbed the ball and went back to throwing it with his friend in a different location.
"Damn Max. How'd you do that?" Alyssa said with a bit of amazement in her voice.
"Uh…got lucky I guess." Max said awkwardly, it being the only excuse she could think of.
"Right." Alyssa said blankly, not entirely believing her but not pushing the issue either.
As she continued towards the parking lot, she saw David confronting Kate in a hostile manner.
"Don't think I'm blind. I see everything here at Blackwell, do you understand me?" David said angrily towards her, getting in her face.
"No! Please, leave me alone!" Kate said in a frightened manner.
"Hey! What the Hell is going on?!" Max asked as she quickly went to Kate's side.
"Stay out of this, Caulfield. I'm asking her some questions." David said in a stern manner.
"No. You're interrogating her like a bully. Just leave her alone and go deal with actual problems, like the one I told you about earlier." Max told him in an equal stern manner.
"You're part of the problem, Missy. I will remember this conversation." David said angrily as he took one more look at Kate before walking away.
"Are you okay, Kate?" Max asked gently as took Kate's hands into hers.
"Yes. Thank you, Max." Kate said with a grateful smile. "I don't know what his problem is." She said quietly.
"Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he always wakes up on the wrong side of the bed." Max joked, which got a small giggle from Kate.
"You always know how to get me to smile, Max. I appreciate you for that." Kate said with a smile before turning serious again. "But what did you mean by the problem you told him earlier about?"
Max wondered if she should tell her as she already had enough on her plate but she also figured she deserved to know the truth, or at least a little bit of it.
"Well, earlier today, I saw Nathan walking out of the girl's bathroom with a gun." Max told her quietly.
"Oh my Goodness! Are you sure?" Kate asked with shock.
"Yes. And I already told Principal Wells and David about it, hopefully it's looked into. But try to stay away from Nathan if you can, he's not right in the head." Max told her.
"I'll do that. I gotta go, but thanks again Max." Kate told her as she went on her way.
"Anytime Kate." Max told her with a smile before proceeding to the parking lot.
It was there she saw a beaten down truck parked over two spaces, one of them being a handicapped zone.
"Nice parking, asshole." Max couldn't help but grumble, hating it when people did this.
She then spotted Warren leaning against what was presumably his new used car.
"What up Max! How are you?" Warren asked as he came over for a hug. Max didn't seem to notice though as she looked inside her bag for the flash drive.
"Here's your flash drive back. Thanks again." Max said gratefully.
"No problem." Warren said as he grabbed the flash drive. "Like the new wheels?" He asked, gesturing to his car.
"It's nice. Very old school." Max told him.
"1978 to be exact. Now we can go to the drive-in. There's one in Newburg just 60 miles away." Warren suggested.
"You're in the wrong decade Warren. But then again, so am I." Max teased.
"You okay?" He asked, noticing she was a bit off.
"It's a been a strange fucking day…" Was all Max could say.
"Tell Dr. Warren Graham about it. I promise not to prescribe you any meds." Warren told her encouragingly.
"Honestly, I'm not even sure this isn't some bizarro dream I'm going to wake up from any minute now. But you gotta promise not to tell anyone, okay?" Max said, deciding to put her trust in him.
"Don't insult me Max. Go on." Warren told her gently.
"I had a strange experience in the bathroom earlier, I mean, life-changing…" Max started to tell him.
"Uhhh, Max. Are you sure I'm the person you should be telling this too?" Warren said, afraid of where this conversation was going.
"Nothing like that, you doofus!" Max said with red cheeks.
Before she could go on any further, they heard the angry footsteps of someone approaching them.
That someone being Nathan Prescott.
"Max Caulfield? One of Jefferson's photo groupies?" Nathan asked with a dangerous voice.
"I'm one of his students." Max said blankly.
"What-the-fuck-ever. I want to know what you were doing in the bathroom earlier." Nathan said intensely.
"I could ask you the same thing." Max said with the same blank tone.
"Max, what's going on?" Warren asked, only to be pushed away by Nathan.
"Back off! I want to know exactly what you told the Principal!" Nathan said angrily.
"I told him a student had a gun." Max said, not intimidated by him.
"No, you told him I had a gun! That's why he dragged me into his office!" Nathan said with rage.
"And did what? Give you a stern lecture? You're lucky that gun didn't shoot me or Chloe!" Max said angrily, really getting tired of Nathan being in her personal space.
"Hold on! You shot at Max?!" Warren asked incredulously.
"I said back off! I don't need luck! I'm a Prescott! My whole family owns this fucking town!" Nathan said arrogantly.
"Take a step back, Warren. Now." Max said with an intense voice, her hand clutching into a fist.
"Oh. So now you're telling me what to do?!" Nathan said, about to raise fists himself.
"Get away from her dude!" Warren told him, only to get headbutted by Nathan.
"Hey! Leave him alone!" Max said as she got in Nathan's face.
"Nobody tells me what to do!" Nathan said as he tried to push Max to the ground.
Except she didn't fall to the ground. She didn't even budge.
"The fuck?" Nathan murmured to himself as he felt like he pushed against a brick wall.
Max, having cooled down a little, emphasis on "little", decided to give Nathan a bit of a taste of his own medicine.
She gave Nathan a little push, a little push for her anyway, and sent him tumbling a few feet away from her and Warren.
"Holy shit, Max." Warren said in quiet amazement as he held his broken nose.
"You fucking bitch!" Nathan said with rage as he picked himself back up, ready to tear her a new one.
Max, accepting that challenge, walked towards him as well.
Only to stop when the beaten up truck slammed the brakes in front of them. Max looked towards the driver and saw it was certain blue-haired punk girl.
"Max?!" Chloe said with surprise.
"Chloe?!" Max said with equal surprise.
"You again?!" Nathan said angrily, only to be tackled by Warren.
"Warren!" Max said with concern.
"Go! Get out of here!" Warren told her as he lost his grip on Nathan, who began punching his face.
"Hey! What the Hell is going on over there!" She heard David yell from the distance as he ran over to them.
"Max, get in!" Chloe told her as she opened the passenger door.
Max didn't want to leave Warren like this but she knew David would put a stop to it, so she quickly got inside Chloe's truck.
"Get your punk asses out of there now!" Nathan yelled at them as he kicked the truck, making Chloe push on the gas.
"Nobody makes a fool out of me! NOBODY!" He yelled as they went on their way.
To Be Continued…
Sorry it's taken so long for another chapter guys, been busy with other projects.
But I'm glad I got to have Max use her powers a bit, especially on douchebag Nathan. Though one might think she was letting her anger get the better of her? Hard to say, guess we'll see.
Anyway, hope you like this new chapter. Tell me what you think. Until next time!
