8/10/2656: Blood Pack Attacks Omega

"Today, the mercenary organization known as the Blood Pack attacked Omega, hoping to overwhelm Pirate Queen Aria T'Loak's forces in the aftermath of the War Hounds' attempted coup only a few days ago. A large fleet of Blood Pack transports escorted by several warships and armed civilian craft approached Omega, the escorts engaging the station's defenses and other vessels nearby while the transports attempted to land. While several transports were destroyed, over half managed to reach the station and Blood Pack troops took over much of its docking facilities. Things began to deteriorate for the attack when the escorting ships were routed by the Pirate Queen's naval forces, allowing personnel from Aria's vessels to hit the Blood Pack from behind, retaking much of the territory lost. The Blood Pack continues to lose ground as forces from across the station begin to mobilize and the advantage brough by surprise dwindles. The speed that the Blood Pack managed to assemble such a large force, which is quite impressive considering the organization's size and commitments across the Terminus, suggests they had forewarning about the attempted coup, perhaps even helping the War Hounds in the hope of crippling two rivals and swooping in to take them both out."
