8/27/2656- Baranuvrin League and Curasian Warships Come To Blows
"Today, a squadron of Lurasalian warships secretly snuck past the border and struck at a pirate base on the edge of Curasian Space which has been used to stage attacks in the fringes of Lurasalian Space alongside nearby Curasian Worlds. Just after the confrontation, a flotilla of Curasian destroyers intercepted the Lurasalian squadron and ordered them to leave, followed by a number of warning shots at the Lurasalian warships. One of the Lurasalian warships, the destroyer Diligence, fired back at the Curasian warships after, according to Cursian Navy representatives, its sensors falsely registered one of the warning shots against a nearby vessel as a hit. No one died in the short exchange that followed, and the Lurasalian vessels swiftly left afterward, but the event has caused significantly increased tensions between the Lurasalian and Curasian Republics alongside the League with all of its neighbors. Lurasalian Navy representatives claimed in a press conference only hours ago that they were planning to inform the Curasians of the base and conduct a joint operation against it, but the Admiral in charge of the squadron moved without orders against the base, and is currently being held for court martial."
