10/27/2656- Sunuvral Republic Announces Reorganization Of Its Armed Forces
"Today, the Sunuvral Republic unveiled a new, more extensive organization for its armed forces. Previously, the Republic Armed Forces were little more than a collection of disparate forces, a collection of mercenary companies, partisan groups, and militias, often only working together at the most basic levels. The invasion of Opponaru showed the flaws in this system, with several mystics and delays occurring because of limited communications and high levels of miscommunication. The new organization structure combines all forces into the Republic Army and Republic Navy, with mercenary forces also being included as integrated, if semi-independent, forces within both. In a controversial move, mercenary Urgnot Craf, an infamous commander who has fought in countless conflicts within the Terminus Systems over the centuries, was chosen as the Republic Armed Forces' Commander and Chief, giving him complete military control over the organization. One of the many facts that have concerned a number of observers is Craf's connections to Warlord Vorn, with him being a known lieutenant of the Warlord for over a century before leaving amicably only a decade ago."
