Boku no Hero Academia: Custodian Izuku
Disclaimer: This is a crossover fanfiction story of 'Boku no Hero Academia' and 'Warhammer 40k' (yes, really). I own nothing of the two series other than the fanfiction stories that I make.
I am making this story for the sake of fun, fluff and awesome after writing a one-shot story of the same story concept. If I am able to somehow impress fans of Warhammer 40k or even move someone to tears, even better.
Also, if anyone wants to know how in the world I got this idea in the first place, please refer to the artist, Ryuusei (Mark II), who has made some awesome pictures of gender-bent primarchs. The link is: .us/pools/17320
Please note that while I am familiar with the Warhammer 40k setting, my actual knowledge of it is casual at best. Also, if the genderbent primarchs seem at least a bit OOC, please kindly consider the fact that their bodies (especially the traitor primarchs) have changed drastically after entering Izuku's world.
In case anyone asks how much crack I was taking in to come up with the idea, I am just going to say enough to make even a loyalist Adaptus Astartes trippy.
Chapter 29: Internships (Part 2)
It was the second day of internships for Izuku and his peers from U.A. High School.
Throughout the previous day, Izuku and Angron were at at Oumagadoki Zoo with Gang Orca. There, they gave presentations, entertained children and wrote "action reports". Gang Orca deemed their performance as exemplary as Izuku and even Angron had a way with befriending children. He also deemed them to be competent in handling basic paperwork although it was clear that Angron preferred being out in the field instead which, honestly speaking, was a sentiment shared by many pro-heroes. Therefore, Gang Orca decided to take Izuku and Angron out to patrol with him at a location that could be easily accessed by bus.
A bus took Gang Orca and his two interns from Oumagadoki Zoo to a suburban housing area. There, the pro-hero explained, "As I am sure you two are aware, most crimes take place in urban areas. However, this does not mean that crimes never happen in other locations. It is therefore important for pro-heroes to be present in as many areas as possible to ensure that no crime goes unnoticed."
Izuku nodded and said, "It is also not uncommon for pro-heroes to change their patrol routes every now and again to prevent complacency in routine."
"That's correct, Guarsdman," confirmed Gang Orca who then added, "By changing patrol routes, a pro-hero will be able to not only be more widely known among civilians but also have at least basic knowledge of various locations." Gang Orca then noticed that Angron was seemingly not paying attention towards him. Aware that Angron was not one to simply not pay attention without a good reason, he frowned and asked, "Is something wrong, Ursa?"
"I sense someone in pain, fear and despair," answered Angron who then pointed to one direction and added, "Whoever that person it, those emotions are coming from that direction."
Well aware of Angron's ability to sense emotions, Izuku quickly asked Gang Orca, "Permission to investigate the matter, Gang Orca?"
Equally aware of Angron's emotion-sensing ability, Gang Orca nodded and said, "Permission granted, Guardsman, Ursa. However, as soon as we arrive at the location, I want you two to let me lead the investigation. The last thing we need is you two causing any misunderstandings that the press will likely take out of context."
Both Izuku and Angron nodded at Gang Orca before the three of them made a dash towards the source of the pain and misery that Angron had sensed. Before long, they arrived at a seemingly normal suburban house. However, to Angron who could sense emotions, she nearly grimaced as she pointed at the house and said, "The emotions are coming from over there."
Gang Orca nodded and did a quick echolocation. Upon receiving feedback from his ability, his eyes widened in shock before his expression warped into one of restrained fury as he growled through gritted teeth, "Ursa, Guardsman, keep an eye on the house while I make a phone call. I'd prefer that we have a warrant before we do anything… drastic."
-Meanwhile, in Musutafu…-
"Damn it, to think that the Volcano Thieves would be here of all places today!" thought Kamui Woods as he barely dodged a volley of hot magma-like blobs.
The one responsible for the magma-like blobs, a tall muscular man with brown eyes and orange flame-like hair called Volcano, laughed as he mockingly taunted Kamui Woods, "Well, today is your unlucky day, hero!"
While Volcano, who was the leader of the Volcano Thieves, dealt with Kamui Woods, his two subordinates were busy dealing with the pro-hero's intern, Ibara. One of the two subordinates, a lean man with light-brown skin, grayish-blue hair and an elongated face with a bill-like mouth named Gust Boy, was creating powerful gusts of wind with his enlarged hands which could spin like fans. The other subordinate was a tall woman with a voluptuous build and wavy white hair named Dusty Ash who was creating ash-like dust. By combining their two abilities together, they were able to effectively hold Ibara in place by forcing her to use her vines as "anchors" to avoid getting blown away by Gust Boy's gusts of wind and then getting blinded by Dusty Ash's dust.
However, Ibara was no common sidekick.
Although blinded by the dust and powerful gusts of wind, Ibara did not feel fear as she prayed, "Oh, Lord of Heaven, let your holy light guide your humble servant." She then activated her support gear which caused her costume to be transformed into a set of black and white armour which had specialised slots for her vines, thus effectively turning it into a quirk-powered variant of powered armour with bulky-looking limbs.
Even through the dusty gales of wind, both Gust Boy and Dusty Ash could see that Ibara was, against all odds, somehow stepping forward towards them. Shocked by the unexpected turn of events, Gust Boy swore, "W-what the hell?!"
Dusty Ash saw a pair of red glowing dots on Ibara's face and swore, "She's got to be wearing support gear!" As if to confirm the villainess' statement, both villains could hear the sound of a heavy boot slamming into the ground through the howling gusts of wind being blown at Ibara's direction.
Realising that their tactic was already failing, Gust Boy yelled to Volcano, "Boss, we need an assist here! That brat is wearing armour!"
Kamui Wood's eyes widened as Volcano smirked in response to Gust Boy's call for help and said mockingly, "Well, let's see how well her armour holds against magma!" Before Kamui Woods could stop the villain, he suddenly shot a volley of magma-like blobs towards Ibara, effectively coating her with them.
"Vine!" yelled Kamui Woods who feared the worst for his intern who had chosen Vine as her code name. However, as the gusts of wind died down, all thee villains and one pro-hero noticed something.
There was no scream of pain or terror.
Seemingly unconcerned by the magma-like substance covering her body, Ibara's armoured form stepped forward while cooling blobs of the said substance fell off. Surprised, Volcano asked, "Is that armour heat-proofed too?"
"No, not completely," Ibara answered through gritted teeth before she suddenly charged forward with a burst of speed that one would not expect from a set of armour with bulky-looking limbs. As she moved, the remaining magma-like blobs that coated her armour completely fell off. Gust Boy barely had time to realise that he should dodge when Ibara appeared before him and punched him in the stomach with enough force to render him completely breathless. Combined with the still-lingering heat on the armour, the villain was quickly knocked out by the blow.
Dusty Ash, who was lucky enough to not be Ibara's priority target, could see vines emerging from one of her boots, a clear indication that the vines were not only useful for helping Ibara maintain a steady footing even while being blown at by powerful gusts of wind but also accelerate her movements. Desperate to avoid getting struck down, Dusty Ash created a thick cloud of dust to blind Ibara and yelled to Volcano, "Boss, we need to get…!" The villainess could not say more as vines suddenly emerged from one of Ibara's armoured gauntlets and ensared her, thus rendering her helpless.
Volcano took a moment to stare in shock before he glared at Ibara and growled, "I'll admit, if it wasn't for the fact that you're becoming a pain in my arse, I'd be impressed."
Ibara's glare could be felt even through the helmet that covered her head as she spoke, "Though I have forgotten the details of the events that happened when the League of Chaos Undivided attacked U.A. High School, there is no doubt in my mind that, compared to those forgotten details, your actions of heresy are barely any different from that of a rebellious child splattering hot molten wax everywhere to avoid getting punished by his elders."
A moment of stunned silence passed before a random bystander swore, "Holy shit, that's got to burn!"
Infuriated by Ibara's statement, which was somehow completely sincere and was therefore even more insulting, Volcano clenched his fists and growled, "I'm going to enjoy cooking you alive!"
"Not if I have anything to say about it!" yelled Kamui Woods who, as both a pro-hero and Ibara's superior, refused to do nothing while his intern put her own life at risk to stop the villains. With one hand, he created a fist-shaped ball of wooden branches and slammed it onto Volcano. Under normal circumstances, using such a technique would be discouraged due to the possibility of causing excessive damage to not only the surroundings but even the struck villain as well. The fact that Volcano had no problem with harming his intern, never mind the clear intent to kill her in a horrific manner, made the possible issue a moot point.
Caught off guard by the powerful blow, Volcano was sent flying towards a car that had been long abandoned by its owners when the Volcano Thieves first struck. Somehow still conscious in spite of the bone-fracturing blow, Volcano tried to throw another volley of magma-like blobs but hesitated when he saw Dusty Ash flying towards him. The resulting impact from having her body slam into his already-bettered body was enough to render him helpless. As for Dusty Ash, she too was knocked out after getting thrown towards Volcano by Ibara.
Both Ibara and Kamui Woods remained tense for a few more seconds before the pro-hero said, "Vine, please use your quirk to restrain all three villains. Your ability to detach your vines at will is useful for both restraining villains and minimising danger to yourself."
"Understood," replied Ibara as she did as instructed. Once all three villains were successfully restrained, she asked, "Will there be a reprimand for our actions today?"
Kamui Woods shook his head and said, "Unlikely. We were both doing a basic patrol when those three suddenly appeared in front of us after robbing that jewellery store. They could have just tried to run away from us but, considering their quirks, they must have been confident that they could take us out. Had you lacked that armour of yours, they very well could have."
Ibara nodded and said, "And I was given permission to defend myself before the patrol started."
"That too, though I strongly suggest avoiding being too dependent on the armour. There is always a chance that something will happen that can render it useless or worse," advised Kamui Woods.
"I am aware of that possibility. Nonetheless, your advice is appreciated," replied Ibara.
Both Kamui Woods and Ibara would later receive credit for taking down the Volcano Thieves. The pro-hero did not hesitate to claim that Ibara had played a key role in taking out the villains thanks to her excellent support gear.
-Back to Izuku and Angron…-
Although Angron's abilities were known to the police force, it was unlikely that they would take immediate action from her words alone. The words of one of the top ten pro-heroes in all of Japan who could use echolocation was another matter entirely though as a warrant was quickly prepared, thus allowing Gang Orca and his two interns to break into the house.
With the warrant granted, Gang Orca said, "Let me lead the investigation and deal with whatever resistance we may face. Your priority should be securing the main objective."
Izuku nodded grimly while Angron asked, "Permission to break through walls and doors to get to the main objective?"
Gang Orca almost smirked, which would have given him a downright villainous appearance, as he replied, "Permission granted, Ursa. Just don't break any bodies while you're at it."
Since Gang Orca, Izuku and Angron were of one mind on the matter, little else was said as they moved towards the suburban house. Both Angron and Izuku were in full body armour, thus giving off the impression of being Gang Orca's armoured escorts. Needless to say, they attracted a lot of attention as they approached the house so it was not surprising that the front door of the said house was opened before Gang Orcan could get close enough to knock it. A woman with long black hair was at the door and had a questioning look on her face as she asked the pro-hero, "Hello, is there something you want from me and my family?"
Gang Orca did not bother to waste time on pleasantries as he bluntly spoke, "Terumoto-san, we have a warrant to search your house." He then showed the woman a digital copy of the warrant and said, "Within half an hour, the police will arrive along with a physical copy of it. However, for reasons that I am sure you are not ignorant of, I have every intention of begin the search as soon as possible." His expression darkened as he glared at her and added, "I have the ability to echolocate, just like a true killer whale."
The woman's face paled as she tried to argue, "I-I don't know what you're talking about!"
Seeing that the woman was not going to cooperate, Gang Orca turned his attention towards Angron and nodded. Angron needed no further instructions as she stepped forward and effortlessly pushed the protesting woman aside. She ignored the yells from not only the woman but also an elderly couple who were probably her parents or in-laws. As long as they did not start using their quirks, or any object that could be used as a weapon for that matter, to stop her, she was willing to simply ignore them and push them aside without knocking them down. Once she arrived at a door that led to downstairs, she grabbed the wooden door in such a way that her armoured fingers tore into it as though it was made of cardboard and then tore it aside in a brutal fashion. She then glared at the three people who had tried to stop her and growled, "I can sense negative emotions coming from down there so I suggest, for your sake, that you. STAND. DOWN."
Intimidated by Angron's glare and words, the family was stilled to meek compliance as she tossed the broken door aside and then stepped into the lower floor. She ignored the smell of filth as she scanned the basement and noticed a scrawny boy with black hair and eyes. Her eyes narrowed as she realised that they boy had been tied up with his mouth sewn shut. Well aware of his obvious fear towards her, she knelt down and took off her helmet to that he could see her face while she gently spoke to him, "Do not be afraid, child. We are here to help you."
Shocked by the show of kindness, which was clearly something that he had not experienced for a long time, the boy's fear lessened enough for Angron to approach him carefully with a crouched posture to avoid looking like an imposing giant beast to him. Once she got close enough, she said, "I'm going to take out a knife to cut you loose, as well as cut those strings keeping your mouth shut." Understanding her intent, the boy nodded though he still became tense when he saw Angron take out a gleaming knife. His momentary fear was soon proven unfounded when she proceeded to cut him loose. Once he was freed from the bindings that had immobilised him, she proceeded to carefully cut the strings that had left scars around his mouth. The boy stared at his cut bindings with wide disbelieving eyes before he looked at Angron's face. In spite of her brutish appearance, the benevolent intent behind her smile was unmistakable as she gently placed her hand onto his head and said, "You have done well to not give in to despair or hatred in spite of your unjust suffering in isolation. It is time that someone helps you now."
Tears welled up in the boy's eyes as he lunged forward to hug Angron while wailing in both the grief of having years of agony for a childhood and the relief that someone had finally heard his silent pleading cries for help…
-Ashort while later…-
As stated by Gang Orca, the police arrived along with both a physical copy of the search warrant and an ambulance. Of course, given the tense situation at the house, it was not surprising that a large gathering of curious and nosy onlookers had formed around the house by the time they arrived. A quick inspection by the police was all that was needed for the abusive mother and grandparents of the boy, whose name was Terumoto Kouki, to be immediately arrested.
Once the Kouki's mother and grandparents were arrested and taken out of the house, thereby preventing any potential conflict that could have harmed him, Angron carried the boy with one arm and walked out of the basement. Izuku, who had been aware of Kouki's miserable state from Angron thanks to the use of micro beads for communication, wasted no time to approach the two so that he could start treating his wounds, both physical and spiritual, as a form of "first aid".
Suddenly, Kouki's mother resisted arrest so that she could glare hatefully at her own son and shout, "This is all your fault, Kouki! You should have NEVER been born!" While Kouki cringed from his mother's hateful words, Angron felt a nearly overwhelming desire to punch her hard enough to crush her face beyond recognition.
A sudden wave of fury suddenly filled the air and it was oppressive enough to make even Angron pause. The said former primarch raised an eyebrow as she realised that the source of the fury was actually from Izuku whose whole body was starting to glow with golden light.
With a calm restrained fury that Angron would later swear would have terrified even lesser daemons, Izuku turned around to approach Kouki's mother and grandparents. As he stepped closer towards them, his aura shone brighter while also turning his armour golden. By the time he stood before them, he had the same golden appearance that he possessed during the sports festival when he faced Sanguinius. His voice was somehow both a quiet whisper and a furious roar as he spoke the three people, "I have so MANY things that I wish to say to the three of you right now. I could talk about my own past and how my mother's love for a 'worthless child' was one of the reasons why I never gave up being a good person in spite of my own suffering for being 'quirkless' for years. I could talk about a child whose own mother abandoned her to a cruel fate of torment from a madman who tore into her very flesh and bones and yet remained pure of heart in spite of her despair. I could even talk about the League of Chaos Undivided and how some of their members were victims of abuse from family members. Just. Like. Terumoto. Kouki." Kouki's mother and grandparents were close to soiling themselves in sheer terror when Izuku suddenly turned around and, without bothering to face them, said, "However, in spite of my just fury towards you three, who should have loved your own flesh and blood, what I feel above all else is… utter disappointment." Having said his parting words, Izuku's glow dimmed to the point of disappearing as he returned to Angron's side to continue tending to Kouki's injuries. He did not even slow his pace when he heard Kouki's mother and grandparents starting to weep in the horrifying realisation that they had been effectively doomed to a lifetime of misery that was ultimately caused by their own actions.
Gang Orca, who was honestly worried that Izuku was about to do something violent, released a breath that he had subconsciously held in and mentally thought, "And I thought he was less scary than his girlfriend!"
Izuku and Angron would later get in contact with Nedzu, who already knew about the situation, so that they could get Kouki adopted as a ward of U.A. High School like Eri. They would also learn that Kouki's father, who had been working at the time of the arrest, had been swiftly arrested as well due to being complicit in the cruel abuse. In addition, Kouki had an elder sister who had been taken from her school by the police for questioning.
Little did Izuku realise that his actions were not only caught on camera but were also going viral on the internet…
-At the Oki Mariner…-
"Holy shit… that boy's a lot scarier than I thought!" said a muscular man with blond hair named Mick who was one of Selkie's sidekicks.
"I think we can all agree that the term, 'Beware the nice ones!' very much applies to him," said Selkie who could feel a bead of sweat trickling down the back of his neck.
"I take it he's not like… that most of the time?" asked Sirius.
Tsuyu shook her head and said, "Nope, kero."
"Well, I'm not usually one to feel bad for abusive family members but those three are definitely not going to have a good time any time soon," said one of Selkie's other sidekicks who lacked eyebrows and was completely bald.
"I'm more concerned about the boy's sister, kero," said Tsuyu who then added, "She might not have been a willing participant in the abuse, kero."
"That is a possibility," said Selkie who then turned his attention towards Tsuyu and offered, "If you want, you can send a message to your two friends about that boy's sister."
Tsuyu nodded at Selkie and said, "Thank you, kero."
-Meanwhile, at Hosu…-
"Will this reflect badly on Midoriya-kun?" asked Tenya who was clearly worried for Izuku.
Tensei frowned as he replied, "It's unlikely but not completely impossible. Like it or not, the press has more than enough 'journalists' who would love to tear down people with all kinds of exaggerations, deeds taken out of context and, yes, even lies." He then smiled at his brother to reassure him as he continued to speak, "That being said, he's an intern of Gang Orca and he has done nothing physically violent so the potential backlash shouldn't be too bad. Besides, harshness aside, as long as his words are true there is little that can be used to legitimately slander him."
Though not entirely convinced, Tenya nevertheless felt a little reassured by Tensei's words as they continued with their patrol.
-At Naruhata…-
"Am I the only one who thinks that boy is actually pretty damn scary?" asked a member of Buster Union called Bukkomi who had a pompadour hairstyle that formed a literal cannon.
"No, it's certainly not just you," said a member who wore armour and had a pair of shoulder cannons named Canhgunnon.
"Doesn't make him any less of a sweet-looking boy with the way he treated that little boy's injuries though," said a young woman who was dressed like a magical girl named Tech Magic.
Sensoji turned his attention towards Oboro, Karutoko and Yuuga and asked, "You three have any opinions about him?"
Karutoko grinned and said, "Hwe's a gwood gwuy." She then scowled and added, "Ahnd thwose thrwee hwere mweanies anyhway."
Sensoji grimaced at the reminder of Karutoko's abusive past and muttered, "Yeah… I should have expected that from you."
"She's not wrong though," said Oboro who then added, "Izuku is someone who would sooner fight a hopeless battle than abandon people who need his help."
"His light truly is a beacon even against the darkest tides," agreed Yuuga who, in spite of having no memory of the attack at U.A. High School by the League of Chaos Undivided, knew that the statement was a fact.
"Well, if nothing else, social media is certainly going to be interesting for a while," said Sensoji who was soon proven right.
-At the headquarters of the HPSC…-
The president of the HPSC sighed as she pinched the bridge of her noseafter watching a video recording of Izuku reprimanding an abusive familyand muttered, "Somehow… I feel that I should not be surprised that Guardsman would do something like this."
Toshinori smiled as he spoke, "To be fair, he was angry on that poor boy's behalf."
Nedzu nodded and said, "Heroes are meant to be more than just enforcers of the law, after all."
Mirai adjusted his spectacles and said, "Speaking of being more than just enforcers of the law, while I do not fault Guardsman for feeling angry at such unjust abuse towards a young child, he should remember that a hero is supposed to inspire hope, not fear." Although Mirai was glad that Toshinori was getting better and that All For One was finally dead and gone, he still wanted the blond pro-hero to "pass on the torch" to a worthy successor. After all, given the potential threats from the alternate universe where the former primarch originally came from, something had to be done to ensure the future safety of the world.
On a side note, Nedzu had requested the president of the HPSC to have Mirai involved in the meeting as the pro-hero had his own precognitive abilities and would therefore be, as far asforeign leaders and pro-heroes were concerned, a more credible source of information than Curze and Icarian who had yet to receive their provisional pro-hero licences.
"True, but I'm quite certain that he's doing just that for the one person who needs it the most," argued Toshinori who knew what Mirai wanted him to do. While Toshinori understood Mirai's logical reasoning, he also had his own opinion about passing on his "legacy" to someone and he already had someone, whom Mirai had not chosen, in mind.
Mirai already had his suspicion about Toshinori's choice of successor but, in spite of having a different successor in mind, he was willing to admit that Toshinori had, at the very least, not chosen "too badly".
Both Curze and Icarian, who had been quietly observing the news and the conversation between the three pro-heroes and the president, decided to look into the future and soon made a discovery: Kouki and Eri would likely become close friends and, within less than two decades, develop romantic feelings for each other. Icarian was not overly concerned about the outcome as she had used her quirk again to confirm that the two children would likely to be happily married in the future. As for Curze, she had a sudden desire to, at the very least, give Kouki the "shovel talk" once he had settled in and befriended Eri.
Curze might want to protect Eri's purity but she also understood that Kouki was a fellow victim of abuse who would, in time and with proper guidance, become a good man for Eri. Even so, similar to many overly protective parents, the former primarchs of the Night Lords still found the idea of Eri falling in love with a boy a bit galling.
Mera received a notification on his mobile phone and said, "Speaking of heroes being more than just enforcers of the law, the rest of the World Hero Association and their representatives are ready to meet you six."
Although the chances of Humarise actually succeeding in ruling the world after taking down current human society could be considered as laughably small, in part due to having to deal with both Toshinori and the former primarchs as enemies, any genuine hero would want to stop thevillainous cultfrom succeeding in destroying even one city. Getting the cooperation of leaders and pro-heroes from other parts of the world was therefore an essential step in achieving that goal.
Just as Nedzu had anticipated, various world leaders and pro-heroes were initially skeptical of Curze and Icarian's predictions even with Toshinori giving his support to the validity of their precognitive abilities. When Mirai stepped in provide his own vision of the future, which involved Curze and Icarian taking down the leader of Humarise, a tall and slim man with luminescent light-blue skin named Flect Turn, the skeptical foreign leaders and pro-heroes became significantly more supportive. Even if the creation and usage of dangerous weapons of mass destruction was not involved, taking down an infamous cult that wished to purge the world of quirks, which meant eliminating more than 80% of the world's current population, was something that many people would understandably want to happen. Before long, plans were made to stop Humarise and, if all went well, put a permanent end to the cult.
While both Curze and Icarian had no problem with stopping the cult, they could not help but think about the irony of taking out a cult that wanted to effectively "purify humanity". Had Flect Turn and his cult been residents of their original home universe, they were quite certain that they might have been seen as heroic champions of humanity instead of mad genocidal cultists. Then again, humans with quirks were undeniably quite different from psykers and chaos mutants.
It would not be long before the fall of Humarise began.
-Back to Izuku and Angron…-
Unaware of the plans that had been set in motion to stop Humarise, Izuku and Angron returned to U.A. High School with both Gang Orca and Kouki. With Nedzu approving of having Kouki as another ward of the school like Eri, it made sense to bring him to the said school. The fact that Kouki was clingy and refused to leave Angron's side made it clear to Gang Orca that any plan to continue Izuku and Angron's internships as originally planned would be, quite frankly, ill-advised. In spite of the change in circumstance, the pro-hero knew that it was all worthwhile as it allowed Kouki to be finally free from an abusive family.
Speaking of abusive families, questioning had revealed that Kouki's elder sister was not only complicit in the abuse but had actually disliked her own younger brother, whom she saw competition for familial affection, even before his quirk manifested. What was more, Kouki's uncles, aunts and even great grandparents were involved in the abuse which all started because his quirk was a mutation that did not resemble any of their own quirks. Understandably, Izuku and Angron felt no sympathy towards the majority of the Terumoto family who would soon be punished for their crimes as abusers and enablers of abuse.
Once Izuku, Angron, Gang Orca and Kouki had entered the Imperial Dorm, Eri and Inko approached them. Eri's eyes were wide with open curiosity and concern towards Kouki, who was in Angron's arms, as she asked the former primarch, "An-neechan, is he okay?"
Angron smiled as she replied, "He's okay, though he will need time to fully recover from his abuse."
Eri nodded before she turned her attention towards Kouki and, with a polite bow, said, "My name's Eri and I know how it's like to be hurt by bad people." She then smiled at the boy and added, "I was saved by heroes, just like you."
Kouki could not help but blush a little at the sight of Eri's kind smile before he nervously replied, "I'm… Terumoto Kouki… Nice to… see you too."
Inko smiled at the two young children before she asked Izuku, "Dinner is ready but do you two wish to bathe first?"
Izuku nodded and said, "Kouki-kun could use a bath. We'll have dinner together after that."
"Then you two go right ahead. We'll wait for you," said Inko. While Izuku and Angron made their way to the bathroom with Kouki, Inko turned her attention towards Gang Orca and asked, "Would you like to have dinner with us, Gang Orca-san?"
"I appreciate the offer, Midoriya-san, but I don't want to impose," said Gang Orca.
Inko chuckled and said, "Oh, it's no trouble at all! It's the least I can do for the pro-hero who has agreed to have my son and his girlfriend as interns." She then remembered something and tilted her head while asking the pro-hero, "Speaking of internships, how do you intend to continue it with them? I doubt they can bring themselves to leave that poor boy alone even with me and Eri-chan giving him company any time soon."
Gang Orca scratched the back of his head and sighed as he admitted, "Honestly, I'm still trying to work things out. I can certainly do physical training with them here and I can pull a few strings to give them some off-site investigative work but I'm afraid that doing any patrols outside the school grounds with them will be impossible until the boy is willing to trust other people."
Inko smiled understandingly as she spoke to Gang Orca, "Well, given the situation, it can't be helped. At least Kouki-chan has been saved from his abusive family. Who knows what would have happened to him had he not been saved today."
"Given what I know about many villains, including the League of Chaos Undivided, nothing good, that's for sure" replied Gang Orca. Like many people, he could not recall what exactly had happened during the attack at U.A. High School but the official records were enough for him to know that at least some of the members were victims of abuse.
Suddenly, a grumble could be heard and both Inko and Eri stared at the source of the sound. Gang Orca blushed as he sheepishly admitted, "We… kind of forgot to eat lunch today."
Both Eri and Inko giggled before the older of the two said, "I know that you do not wish to impose, but I'm afraid that I must insist on having you stay here to have dinner with all of us."
Gang Orca accepted his "defeat" with grace as he smiled and said, "Well, I suppose I have no choice but to graciously accept your kind offer, Midoriya-san."
Before long, Izuku, Angron and Kouki were done with their bath and had dinner together with Inko, Eri and Gang Orca who insisted to be called by his given name, Sakamata Kuugo, while off duty. After dinner, Izuku and Angron spent time with Kouki, Eri and Inko so that the young boy could get used to being with other people while Gang Orca excused himself so that he could make new arrangements for his two interns. Though things had certainly not gone as originally planned, the pro-hero honestly felt proud of having Izuku and Angron as his interns.
"Well, since we're unlikely to go anywhere far anytime soon…" thought Gang Orca who then took out his mobile phone to make a phone call. After all, he had made a promise to a friend who wanted to give Izuku and Angron some physical combat training and, fortunately, U.A. High School had no shortage of suitable training areas. As the pro-hero made the phone call, he mentally added, "It might be good to have Kouki involved too if only to help him understand the limits of his quirk."
-In the primarchs' original universe…-
The Dark Gods of Chaos were… "displeased" by recent events.
Ever since the Imperium of Mankind witnessed the U.A. Sports Festival in the alternate version of Holy Terra, the people of the imperium had started to adopt a mindset which could only be described as genuinely noble and heroic. To the Ruinous Powers, this was a setback which had to be dealt with quickly as genuinely noble and heroic individuals, especially the wiser ones, would not only be more dedicated to stopping the forces of Chaos but also be significantly more difficult to corrupt. Even worse for the Chaos Gods, these individuals had the potential to inspire others to do the same which meant even more souls that might very well be truly beyond their reach.
As if dealing with an Imperium that was ever so slowly changing for the better was not bad enough for the Ruinous Powers, their majority of the chaos space marines had been increasingly rebellious of late. Considering that a significant numberof them hadnot joinedwillingly in the first place, never mind the fact that entire legions had instinctively realised that their primarchs had pretty muchdenounced the Dark Gods, this was to be expected to some degree. However, the chaos space marines had also somehow received visions of Izuku rejecting the Chaos Gods and even calling them "pitiful parasitic parodies" of true souls, thereby making them even bolder in their rebelliousness.
Not surprisingly, the Dark Dods blamed the Emperor of Mankind for making their chaos space marines witness the visions.
Even Tzeentch, the chaotic embodiment of change and evolution, knew that something had to be done to somehow "set things right" before it was too late. Thus, with all four Chaos Gods agreeing to a temporary truce, a plan to destroy the alternate version of Holy Terra was set into motion. Even if the plan of destroying the alternate version of Holy Terra failed, the Dark Gods would still consider the attack a victory if it succeeded in permanently ruining the world as a sacred symbol to the people of the Imperium. However, executing the plan would be difficult as it not only involved sending their forces to an entire alternate universe, which seemed to be actively rejecting all their attempts to enter and spread their influencewith stubborn effectiveness, but also the fact that the Emperor was surely already aware of a possible attack and was making preparations accordingly. With any chance of subtle subterfuge effectively impossible, the Chaos Gods decided that a massive invasion to break into the alternate version of Holy Terra was in order.
The Chaos Gods considered themselves fortunate that they had the perfect "champion" to spearhead the better, they do not even need him to "win" to achieve victory.
The cruel laughter of thirsting gods could be heard as a new Black Crusade was set in motion…

Author's Notes:
As it turned out, I had already mentioned about the Star Cats back in Chapter 23, well before I posted Chapter 28. Luckily, the content about the Star Cats in the two chapters are different enough that no reupload is necessary although I do feel obliged to state this error. Hopefully, I will not make any similar mistakes in future updates for both this story and any other story that I wish to work on or continue working on.
Someone mentioned that some of the fights feel a bit cheap because they were glossed over in spite of involving the deaths of certain characters such as Stain and even Lorgar. As such, I plan to at least mitigate the issue as much as possible though I may decide to simply press on as I want to give this story a proper ending before too long. I'm not getting any younger after all.
Until next time, go beyond, plus ultra!
