Chapter 7
Feast
PLANET KACOCK |YEAR 741
The Saiyan civilization advanced over time, designing their houses, finishing their palace and advancing technologically. Despite the few years that had passed, the Saiyans filled themselves with knowledge with the sole purpose of surviving and not being detected by Frieza. As a race, they were fond of destroying planets and civilizations, they had never realized the hard work it cost a single society to build the foundations of a city with their own hands and that they would arrive and destroy them in less than a week, a reflection that struck many deeply.
It's not as if they were going to change their attitude from one moment to the next, their pride and arrogance is what makes them Saiyans, their fighting instincts and their innate abilities as warriors are an inheritance from their ancestors, a cultural quality very ingrained in them, no one left that aside, but even so, there were some who regretted it.
Things seemed to be going well in Kacock, the warriors decided to use their resources correctly and life in the place grew freely and without disturbance, which allowed them to harvest, plant and sow without any problem. In recent years the planet was prospering and so were its inhabitants.
Very soon it would be the third anniversary of the destruction of Planet Vegeta, a celebration every year, however, something different would happen at this point, something that the Saiyans called the Full Moon Tournament, the three moons of Kacock would align in the sky of that night, the day that the finals would be. A new and exciting event that would test all the warriors who were previously part of the combat soldiers on Planet Vegeta.
From the moment the Saiyans heard the announcement of the tournament, they all began to find ways to become stronger, the vast majority achieved this by training with friends or neighbors willing to have consecutive fights. In some cities, even, specific places were set up to find rival partners and friends. On the day of the tournament, the power classes would be decided, this was an incentive that increased the performance of the soldiers, everyone was striving to extreme degrees.
The technology to leave the planet and create exploration ships was available, but only a few were given permission to leave, mostly those who served the crown as spies in disguise and brought their reports to King Bardock, apart from them, no one could leave without an order signed by the King.
In the newly completed palace, preparations were being made for the Full Moon Tournament.
A great architectural display by the Saiyans, different from Vegeta's palace, but unique in its kind. Built on top of an imposing mountain, a fortified construction with polished dome-shaped towers, from which the violet sky full of constellations could be seen. With strong walls and walls, fused with the mountain, some elevated bridges connecting with different corridors and areas of the palace, highlighting the main one, the entrance to the home of the royal family and the military base of the Saiyans and personnel most loyal to royalty.
Inside the palace where the royal family was staying, the walls seemed to be decorated with exuberance and complexity, work that the Queen had done especially for her side. Most of it is usually gloomy and with a simpler style, however, she was thinking of something more homely but elegant for the place where her children would grow up and she herself would live. She decided to put glass windows and stained glass in some areas, which allowed her to have an impressive view of the Planet.
The purple light that signaled dawn was rising on the horizon, some Saiyans were at their best by that time. Dawn was breaking through all the halls of the palace, while a commotion could be heard in the distance coming from a room.
Lucern, the butler for several generations, had finished his morning chores to keep everything in the palace in order and clean. He was not far from such a room, when a child with royal clothes half-done and disheveled hair, ran out of his abode being chased by some Saiyan women, assistants in charge of keeping the child under control.
I'M NOT WEARING THAT!– Exclaimed the boy with the Saiyan women running everywhere trying to catch their prince.
The King ordered us, Your Majesty, please understand.– Oco, the youngest of the second prince's three servants and the sweetest when it came to speaking, tried to reason. She ran after the boy who was trying to tear off the prince's armor, leaving a trail of clothes
It's just for today little prince!– An old friend of his mother, the Saiyan who helped him in the past at the butcher shop, Berry, shouted desperately at him.
You don't have to be so mean, Your Highness! We're just trying to help!– Beetra, a thin, curly-haired Saiyan, was chasing the prince in tears. By this time, she was exhausted.
Lucern remained calm, it was already customary for the second prince to cause great disturbances from dawn to dusk, he simply shook his head and continued on his way, the attendants would deal with him sooner or later.
Kakarotto ran as fast as his short legs would take him. The attendants were unable to catch up with him and eventually lost sight of him in a hallway.
The boy remained silent as he launched himself from a balcony and flew outside the palace walls. Today would be a boring day at the palace, but there would be great celebrations outside those walls, the mountain range surrounding it looked impressive from above. In the distance he could see the first city, the capital of Kacock and the closest to his home. Before landing on solid ground, the boy covered his hair with a hood and ventured into the most popular and busy streets. The only attraction he was looking for was the food festival that would be held for the first time during the Full Moon Tournament, food tournaments galore, that was a dream come true.
His eyes lit up as he saw so many stalls and shops giving away free samples, so many options and so few hands to hold the food. The time came when he was carrying a mountain of food and his mouth full of food. His happiness was undeniable and the vendors didn't see why they should ruin a child's fun. After an hour, the place was still packed with people and food kept coming to Kakarotto from all sides. He was about to receive a free cut of meat when the wind blew hard, the little boy's hood fell off revealing his palm-shaped hair, everyone recognized that very particular hair.
All eyes turned to him when soldiers were heard shouting in the distance, "THERE IS!" Kakarotto grabbed the piece of meat and ran away. Unfortunately, the festival was a dead end, and all the soldiers of the royal guard ended up surrounding the boy and grabbing him by his tail to take him back to the palace.
Kakarotto regained his strength in the royal throne room, in front of his father. Bardcock's eyes seemed to look at him sternly.
Every year you do reckless things to avoid wearing those clothes, but today, today you outdid yourself Kakarotto– Bardock spoke, while his son looked at the ground with his head down – The soldiers were looking for you everywhere, your mother was about to hang your assistants and the palace staff was put on high alert, while you were eating at the festival.
I just wanted to go out and get something to eat…- The boy muttered words that were almost inaudible. A trick that didn't work on his father, an elite soldier who knew how to read lips for as long as he could remember.
That's no excuse to cause such a fuss. You're the second prince of planet Kakarot, act like it – Bardock claimed, causing his son to internally lament.
Most of the times he had done this kind of mischief, the little prince had always been taken to his mother to receive the corresponding scolding and a minor punishment for being gluttonous. For the first time he had been taken to his father, something unexpected for the boy, surely he would have thought better of his actions if he knew that this would be the result.
You will put on those clothes and attend the banquet before the full moon, no excuses. I don't want to hear you make any more fuss for the rest of this celebration. Now go train – Bardock finished by saying coldly. At this, his youngest son was led to the exit, while he touched his forehead in annoyance.
Tooma entered a few moments after Kakarot left, feeling sorry for himself. The soldier couldn't help but see him with that serious face, full of sadness at the disappointment he caused. At first he wondered what punishment Gine had given him this time, but the real reason for his downcast expression depended rather on the person who reprimanded him. The doors closed behind Tooma, heading in front of Bardock.
I hope you weren't too hard on him – Tooma commented, making Bardock react.
He is barely going to turn 5 years old and he can put the entire planet on high alert, just– The King rested his face on both hands, exhausted by the laborious morning – I consider that I was not hard enough
You can't blame him, he's just as stupid as you, he's basically a carbon copy of you, he's your son after all, right?– Tooma dared to say with a mocking smile on his face.
That just makes me worry more – The King snorted – Anyway, what's your report?
Well, the bad news is that the intergalactic patrol discovered one of our undercover spies and brought him before their leader to reveal all the information –His anger dissipated into more frustration as soon as Tooma finished speaking.
You weren't serious, were you?Tooma sighed as he nodded in front of his King and confirmed the above. Bardock looked towards the window that allowed him to see some of the gardens of the same palace and outside of it, the first city that was built.
For the first time in a long time, he had the desire to destroy a city and be the soldier he forged alone, away from the crown. He accumulated an energy of power in his right hand, throwing it towards the window, causing the glass to begin to break and leaving the pieces lying on the floor. For Tooma this was not the first time that everything, in general, drove him crazy, but not going on more missions, or fighting with stronger guys, was beginning to affect him.
And that's why I say you're very similar to Goku– Tooma announced quietly. The king turned his eyes to Tooma without moving his face completely, he knew that what Tooma said was mostly true, deep down he and his son just wanted to fight and fight with stronger guys, not just stare at soldiers and do paperwork until they died. Bardcock sighed tiredly and slumped onto the throne.
Was he a snitch or did he at least withstand torture?– I mention melted in his big chair, disgusted with life
He wasn't tortured, he was just taken to his space prison. Although, they took away his communicator and tried to track us, which we were able to avoid, but they managed to send a short message – The last thing caught the King's attention, making a sign to Tooma to tell him – They asked to meet at a midpoint to talk, they want to reach an agreement since they have seen that in recent years we have not caused any damage – The King stood up with this announcement and put on a serious face
Inform all the members of the council, after the banquet there will be a meeting and we will discuss the matter. The Galactic Patrol does not know how many of us there are, but they know the power of our race, they know that we are warriors, they would not plan an ambush knowing our past, even so, we will have to be cautious.– He stood thinking, touching his chin with one of his hands, Tooma also reflected on the matter. Although the intergalactic patrol had followed their trail quite accurately, they never discovered the planet where they were staying – You can go Tooma, I'll see you later – The King commented before leaving the throne room on his own, he was really frustrated staying in that place.
The now named General Tooma knew that his friend needed fresh air, he didn't even think about stopping him, these last few years had been chaos for Bardock.
I didn't even have time to give him the good news – Tooma said to himself, hearing the echo of his own voice in that great hall.
KACOCK PALACE |ROYAL FAMILY SECTOR | YEAR 741
From the darkness of the palace corridors, a child walked, exhausted and with his pride slightly broken.
He hated royal clothes for as long as he could remember, adults also wore them almost daily, but his were worthy of warriors with Saiyan-style armor and the design that best suited them. Contrary to his case, since the outfit for a child was ridiculous from head to toe, combining the style of armor with the traditional, red cape that also extended as a scarf around his neck, Saiyan armor under it, but with some golden details and a leather shoulder pad on one side, along with a pair of gloves with metallic details. This suit was heavy, uncomfortable and absurd, that's how little Prince Kakarotto saw it. He could bear to wear this outfit, if only they didn't recognize him as a prince from the moment they looked at him. The formalities made him uncomfortable and he hated being called by his title and bowing. His father had scolded him for not behaving like a prince, but at this point how is a prince supposed to behave?
His brother Raditz, the crown prince, was considered someone obedient and with good warrior skills, having some strange hobbies collecting insects. Of the two brothers Raditz was always the calmer one, while Kakarotto showed his mother's kindness, but Bardock's stubbornness and energy, qualities that got him into trouble quite often.
At the time, neither Bardock nor Kakarot knew it, but they both felt trapped in the palace, desperate for adventure and self-improvement, but held back by society and their duties, primarily Bardock.
Kakarotto stopped walking and looked at the golden tiara with a blue gem on his forehead, which his personal assistants told him to wear the night of the banquet, he saw himself reflected in that beautiful jewel with the symbol of the Saiyan royal family very subtly engraved on it. He sighed, surrendering to the fact of being a prince, deciding to do it right for the first time, without causing a scandal in the entire room. He placed the tiara on his head and proudly looked up.
Hello Kakarot!– Said a boy with disheveled hair and dark skin wearing green armor and a cape, formal for the upcoming banquet. That greeting startled little Kakarotto, making him fall on his back – Are you okay? – The boy extended his hand, who seemed alarmed and sorry for having scared his prince.
Ouch! Oh? Broly, you scared me!– Kakarotto tilted his head and blinked rapidly before taking his friend's hand – What are you doing here? The banquet hasn't even started yet – He said, standing up in one go.
My…my father had business to attend to, that's why I'm here early. Sorry for scaring you – Broly murmured shyly, lowering his head in shame. The little prince blinked again at the boy's withdrawal.
Nothing happened to me. Now that you're here, we can train – Broly's face rose with excitement. Both Saiyan children were about to run away when Lucern appeared from the shadows, taking both children's shoulders.
I don't want to interfere with your plans, Prince Kakarotto, but I feel the need to remind you of the order your father gave you, no fuss. Besides, you're wearing the royal suit that your assistants put on you with great effort, you don't want to appear before the King dirty and disheveled – The butler announced elegantly. Kakarotto rolled his eyes at such an interruption – Do you think it would be better if you and the colonel's son started with a snack before the banquet? – Kakarotto and Broly thought about escaping before seeing the tables full of cakes and delicious food everywhere in the hall.
Both of them were drooling, their eyes bright and their faces joyful. Lucern looked at them with a victorious face, he knew very well the weakness of the second prince, in fact, the weakness of an entire race.
Only 20 minutes passed until the doors of the dining room where Broly and Kakarotto were opened, revealing the little prince's older brother.
There you were! I thought you had run away again – The corner of his mouth curved and he looked closely at the scene, his brother with his mouth full as well as Broly and his butler, Lucern bowing to him - Come on Kakarotto! Our parents are waiting for us. You're coming too Broly - Both children looked at each other and then looked at Raditz, who was waiting impatiently at the door. Kakarotto swallowed heavily and jumped off his bench followed by Broly who did not let go of his piece of cake and took it with him.
The three children walked through the hallways, following Raditz who had his arms crossed and looked somewhat exhausted. Broly had always been a child of few words, but observant, taking a few bites of his cake and sharing small portions with Kakarotto, who smiled after such a snack. They had taken few steps when a child leaning against the wall of the hallway with his arms crossed looked at them with interest and stood up straight when he saw that Raditz was coming with them.
At last!– He followed Raditz's walk and stood next to him as they walked together
Oh, hey Vegeta! I thought you were training late today, I didn't think I'd see you here – Kakarotto said as he saw the flame-haired boy walking with them, giving him a smile.
That was the plan, but someone here had to escape and now we all have to make sure nothing happens to the baby – Vegeta joked, giving Kakarotto a mocking smile.
I'm not a baby!– The second prince claims
Calm down Kakarot, I'm just playing – Vegeta snorted at the younger boy's reaction. Kakarotto reacted well to his supposed apology and turned his attention to the cake Broly was sharing with him – Hey, Raditz!
That?– The prince answered Vegeta's arrogant call.
I thought you would train harder for the tournament, not spend as much time as possible on your hobbies. Imagine how embarrassing it would be for your family if I beat you in the tournament because of your weak fighting power – The boy mentioned with an air of pride. Raditz, on the other hand, remained silent and continued walking without much importance.
I don't have to give you explanations Vegeta. I trained enough to beat you – I answer confidently
I want to see that… Between us, Kakarotto has tried harder than you these last few years – I cross my arms haughtily, closing my eyes
You're right, it's going to be much more embarrassing for you to have a 4-year-old beat you up – Vegeta frowned and snorted at that comment, which caused Kakarotto and Broly to laugh.
Vegeta! Did Tarble come with you?– The little prince asked him while Vegeta still remained frowning.
She's with mom preparing some things. I'm sure she'll arrive soon – He replied in an insignificant way causing a smile in Kakarotto
Oh, how nice! Now we can all fight together!– The second prince jumped very excitedly, making his tail move from side to side.
Don't get so excited, Kakarot. The only ones with Saiyan spirit here are you, me, and maybe Broly. As for your brother and my brother, they don't seem that interested in competing – With Vegeta's words said, Kakarotto tilted his head as he saw Raditz walking in front of him.
But if Raditz has even gone on special missions undercover Totappo, that's why you hadn't seen him until today– I reveal Kakarotto causing strangeness in Vegeta
You went on missions without me?!– Vegeta asked angrily, running in front of Raditz and getting him to pay due attention. Taking Raditz by surprise.
Kakarot, I thought I told you to keep it a secret!– The first Prince reacted trying to avoid Vegeta's angry gaze.
Hehe, sorry, it slipped out– His younger brother laughs playfully, while Vegeta, still annoyed, approaches him intimidating Raditz, the crown prince trying to remain calm and act without nerves. Vegeta was scary when he was angry.
You are a SELFISH! How dare you leave the planet alone, you INSECT?!– Raditz's eyes opened wide, but at the same time he was frowning.
What did you call me?! Watch your language, mommy's boy!– Neither of them would back down, both were stubborn when their honor was at stake. Broly watched their verbal fight with an indecipherable face, while Kakarotto laughed at the situation. Vegeta could not bear his frustration and was the first to throw a punch at the prince, Raditz was not far behind and did the same. Both ended up on the ground with a red mark on their cheeks.
Looks like we're back to square one, Vegeta – Raditz smiled victoriously as he and Vegeta stood rubbing their cheeks.
Don't get excited, prince. We'll settle this in the tournament arena – He clenched his fist, noticing how it hurt a little after throwing that punch – In the meantime, let's go. I'm going to get scolded too if I don't behave properly – Vegeta turned around and walked towards the great hall where the banquet would be held. Raditz shook the dust off himself, tilting his head towards Kakarotto and Broly to follow him.
The Saiyan children walked down the path in silence with some tension in the air. Vegeta, as always, had his arms crossed, Raditz did the same and Broly was the quietest of the four, but Kakarotto, he was always in his own world.
They crossed the doors of the banquet hall as it was just beginning. The abundance of food was noticeable, with tables full of exotic food and large amounts of meat, reflecting the gluttony of the Saiyans. The celebration hall is impeccable, its robust columns extend to the very high ceiling, moon-shaped lamps hang from all the walls illuminating the room, giving a soft and warm lighting. The main hallway connects with different hallways that lead to different parts of the palace.
Saiyan warriors are gathered in front of the box where King Bardock should be, an empty throne since Bardock seems to be talking below with some members of the council and friends of his without remembering that he himself is the King.
The children are extremely amazed, it is the first time they go to a banquet in a hall with an air of respect and greatness among the Saiyan warriors.
Since there were no power classes on this occasion, the banquet was open to everyone without exception, the planet was celebrating with its inhabitants, music could be heard in the streets and some Saiyans celebrated the full moon as something more traditional, with people closer to them.
Kakarotto didn't see a better opportunity to devour as many kilos of food as he could, and he wasn't the only one, since Broly, Vegeta and Raditz joined him on this occasion. So many Saiyans in one place meant food until bursting, after all, adults devoured more than children.
Everyone present was wearing their best armor with a few extra accessories for the occasion. Queen Gine was rather simple when it came to choosing her outfit, she seemed to be fine with her usual clothes, only this time she also wore a large transparent cape with golden details and embroidery of stars and constellations, along with a golden tiara.
So here they were, I knew that the aroma of food always brings you back Kakarotto– Gine approached where the children were eating, with her arms around her waist, drawing the attention of her youngest son who was gobbling down plate after plate of food. The second prince quickly gave her a very euphoric greeting with both arms and the same mischievous smile that he always gave her.
The party continued as normal until the sound of 3 bells was heard in the background, which indicated that the King would speak. The Saiyans present stopped all the noise and paid attention to Bardock standing on a table.
HIS MAJESTY THE KING WANTS TO SAY A FEW WORDS!– Lucern shouted with euphoria
I think they had already understood the message, there was no need for the ozaru inside to shout – Bardock muttered, to which Tooma let out a silent laugh before standing up straight again – I thank you all for your time and effort in building cities, houses and the castle itself that you helped forge from the ground up. I hope this banquet can satisfy your appetite. Tomorrow will not only be the start of the first Full Moon Tournament, it will also be the third anniversary of the destruction of Planet Vegeta since that tyrant Frieza blew up a home where generations of Saiyan warriors lived. This tournament will test all of us every 3 years to improve ourselves more and more and take revenge on that maniac. Who knows, maybe one of us can one day become that which Frieza feared so much, the Super Saiyan – Bardock paused for a moment looking at his youngest son in the distance, who had apparently stopped eating to listen to his father. The King dreamed of the day when Kakarotto would reach that stage, perhaps that was why he was so severe with him – In any case, I wish you the best in the tournament, keep your honor until the end and remember, on the day of the finals our fighting power will increase tenfold. May the best man win.
As soon as the King finished speaking, thunderous applause was heard throughout the hall and many war cries from the most excited Saiyans. Through the windows, the three moons of Kacock could be seen, all in a crescent gibbous state, about to shine to grant the Saiyans maximum power on the day when the finalists would transform into Ozaru and fight for first place in the tournament.
I bet you're as desperate as I am to know what will happen in the tournament. It's going to be epic, readers. Although this is the first time I've written about fights in more depth, so be patient with me, hehe. If you don't like something, write to me privately or in the reviews, whichever is easier for you.
This week I was informed that some people cannot view the chapters or they appear and disappear. I have already checked and even sent a message to technical support, but nothing, so I don't know how I should proceed so that you, dear readers, can continue enjoying my content. I am open to ideas.
I remind you again that if I see that you like my work (sending comments or opinions and even new ideas) I confirm that I will continue it until the end, no matter what happens, and although I will continue it anyway (because I write this story for fun and my own pleasure) surely with your good comments and opinions I will be even more motivated to finish it, so if you want quick updates I ask you to be very encouraged in each chapter, I put my heart in everything I write (at least that's what I try)
I hope you enjoyed it and thanks for reading.
