Now, it's time for our heroine to finally become a true KND operative. I'm also gonna reveal the origin of her Numbuh in universe. Let's not waste any time! Let's begin!

Firecracker's smile was getting so big that she was fairly certain that her cheeks were going to rip in half. She couldn't believe she was here! She was finally gonna be a true Kids Next Door operative! She was finally here! And she was considered one of the best operatives in her training class, no less.

"Firecracker, you're still smiling," Cree noted from next to her.

"My cheeks hurt but I'm too excited to stop!" Firecracker responded. "This is so cool!"

"I know…I just wish Beau was here to see it," Cree sadly noted. Firecracker couldn't stop herself from flinching. Beau had been decommissioned shortly before the girls' graduations. He had gotten to say goodbye, but it didn't make it any less painful for Cree.

"I'm sure he's proud of you," Firecracker replied, her smile now weaker, but still there. Cree managed to smile back.

"Thanks Firecracker," Cree said, managing a smile of her own. The two girls turned back to the Supreme Leader, the newly crowned Numbuh 100, who was hyping everyone up and talking about everything they would go on to do. Everyone had gotten their assignments already and Cree and Firecracker couldn't help but be somewhat sad they weren't directly working together. Cree had, much as she hoped, been assigned to Sector V while Firecracker had gotten a rare double assignment, getting assigned to both the undersea base to work in on explosive development as well as one of the operatives meant for infiltration and sabotage. While both girls knew their roles were fitting, the fact they couldn't work together outside of rare times was a bit sad, especially considering how close the two had become.

"You…you think we'll ever see each other again?" Firecracker had to ask.

"Firecracker, we go to school together," Cree reminded her with a disapproving stare. "Of course we're going to see each other! Just not on missions and stuff!"

"Uh, right," Firecracker sheepishly rubbed the back of her neck. "Sometimes I forget about school with how exciting everything has been…"

"Don't worry about it! I think everyone does," Cree assured the other girl.

"And now! It's time for the final step in going from the CND to the KND!" Numbuh 100 declared. "You will pick your Numbuh and enter your genetic material into our code module." This only resulted in the excitement sparking back up and reminded Firecracker of something rather important.

She had no idea what she wanted her Code Numbuh to be.

"I've gotta have SOME idea for this!" She internally began to panic, thinking of all the possibilities. For a brief second, she considered just using her birth, but that was way too lame and Firecracker knew she was more clever than that. She continued to think, thinking about what everyone else was planning to pick as their Numbuhs. Cree had mentioned wanting to be Numbuh 11, as Beau had told her about the Kids Next Door on the 11th of that month. However, as far as Firecracker knew, she was the only member of her family to be a KND operative. However, the thought of family finally gave her an idea. It was still somewhat corny, but it was a memory she cherished, considering that without it, she wasn't sure she'd be standing where she was today.

"It's for me!?" A younger Firecracker asked as she looked at the firework making kit her parents had gifted her for Christmas.

"Of course!" Her mother had replied.

"No one in this house likes fireworks as much as you!" Her father chimed in. "Just make you only denote those outside, okay?"

"Okay!" Firecracker replied as she looked over the box. The Boomtasic 451 Firework Making Kit was easily her favorite present that year.

Now with an idea in mind, Firecracker confidently walked up to the code module, sticking her finger into her nose to get some genetic materials.

"What's your Numbuh?" Numbuh 100 asked the girl.

"You call me…Numbuh 451!" Firecracker declared as she stuck her genetic material into the code module. Everyone began to cheer as the newly christened Numbuh 451 joined the other former cadets on the other side of the room.

"Numbuh 451? Where'd you get that?" The newly christened Numbuh 11 asked her friend.

"My first firework kit was the Boomtasic 451 Firework Making Kit," Firecracker admitted. "It felt special. I actually still have the box."

"Why would you keep that?" Cree had to ask.

"To remind myself where I come from." Firecracker responded. "You know how in the movies all the heroes keep stuff to remind themselves where they come from? Well, that's what I'm doing!"

"You knew you'd be a hero even back then?" Cree asked.

"I also just really like the design on the box…but mainly that!" Firecracker sheepishly admitted, causing Cree to chuckle a little. "Now it's totally a hero thing!"

"If you say so," Cree responded, causing Firecracker to glare at the other girl. "I might want to see that box someday, though,"

"So…like a playdate?" Firecracker asked.

"If your parents say yes!" Cree replied. Firecracker broke into yet another smile.

"My cheeks really hurt," She couldn't help but groan, causing Cree to laugh again.

Once every new operative had been christened, the party set up had gone into full swing. Just about every operative present, old and new, were gleefully enjoying all the junk food and soda they could stuff into their face. Firecracker actively had to stop herself from just chugging her bottle of soda, in only so she could avoid getting too hopped on sugar and actually remember most of the party.

"Some party huh," Firecracker asked as she slid up to Cree, who had broken off from her next Sectormates and was hovering by one of the many snack tables.

"I guess…" Cree trailed off as she looked at yet another group of operatives. Firecracker followed her sight and found herself looking at the Decommissioning Squad.

"You wish Beau was here?" Firecracker realized. Cree just nodded.

"And I know it's not their fault, but it's just…those stupid rules are the worst!" Cree snapped. Mercifully, it was loud enough due to all the party chatter that no one noticed her outburst.

"I know…but hey! We've still got seven years before we have to think about it!" Firecracker pointed out. "And hey, like I said earlier, Beau'd be so proud of you for doing this."

"I know…but I just wish he got to see everything pay off," Cree admitted. Sure, Beau hadn't turned traitor, meaning that Cree's memories of him were untainted, but it was still a bitter pill to swallow.

"...So what do you think your first mission is gonna be?" Firecracker asked after a few seconds. Cree knew what she was doing, but she couldn't help but answer.

"Hmm…probably kicking some stupid adult's butt!" Cree declared proudly. "I'll bet it'll be to take out the head of Evil Adult Industries himself!"

"Not if I get a mission to sabotage him first!" Firecracker proudly boasted. Of course, both girls knew that was unlikely, considering that the man had never been seen before. In fact, no one was even sure if it was a man, but spies had heard that the boss was a mister…something. But the idea of being the first to meet and defeat him pushed any sadness or bitterness down for the two new operatives.

So Firecracker is now officially Numbuh 451! Next time, you'll see both her new design as well her first mission! See you then!
