Me: Hello everybody, my name Tokuniverse and welcome back to My Toku to Hero Academia! Happy new year! So we're at the first Interlude of the story before we officially start the Super Sports Festival which will be a 6-parter. There will be more interludes as the story goes.
The most important thing I did was doing a massive retcon on Izuku's quirk name now called Omni-Potent to really make him powerful especially that I realize that he is very much this story's equivalent to Saitama like my co-writer and several of you reviewers mentioned and pointed out.
I got rid of the quirk name change scene in Heroes vs Criminals part 2 as a result. As well as change the quirk's name in other scenes!
So Milarqui, how are things going along with you in both life and writing?
Milarqui: Eh, had a bad night when I got this chapter. Hopefully, I won't fall asleep today. Though, I've got a Worm/Pathfinder crossover called Eagle's Wings you might be interested in.
NOTE: Something is wrong with the mobile fanfic where people can't see this chapter or even have a notification, so I hope that by deleting and reuploading the Interlude chapter can people on the phone see it.
Now then action!
Interlude
"Previously on My Toku to Hero Academia! The Heroics 101 students were kidnapped by the villainous Calamity and her accomplice Ms. Delightful, forced through a deadly school-themed labyrinth on an abandoned oil rig. The class fought hard to escape, capturing Ms. Delightful but losing Calamity, who vanished without a trace. Now, with the Super Sports Festival looming, they strive to prove their resilience – while the threat of Calamity's return hangs over them all."
The TV shone as it showed a bustling newsroom: a well-dressed anchor, microphone in hand, stood before a large screen featuring images of an abandoned oil rig, as well as photographs of two women, bearing the names 'Ms. Delightful' and 'Calamity'.
"Good evening, everyone! Tonight, the news that have shaken the nation: Heroics 101, U.A. University's first year hero trainees, and their abduction by the S-rank villainess, Calamity," the anchor stated in a serious, measured tone, as the screen behind her replaced the images of the oil rig with footage of the structure, as police officers and investigative heroes boarded it for inspection.
"U.A. and the Hero Public Safety Commission have confirmed that the students were kidnapped during class hours and taken to the structure you can see in the images behind me, which had been rebuilt to resemble a labyrinth, with the intention of killing them through the use of deadly traps. However, despite the intent of the creators, the entire Heroics 101 class was able to stage a remarkable escape, and are currently undergoing treatment for the injuries they sustained."
The image of Ms. Delightful became center to the screen, with the words 'Arrested' superimposed in red over her, as the anchor continued speaking.
"B-Rank villainess Misty Delilah, also known by her chosen name Ms. Delightful, was captured by the students after an intense confrontation, and handed over to the authorities when they reached the mainland. Ms. Delilah is currently in a maximum security cell, and faces charges including, but not only, multiple counts of mass murder, kidnapping, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit homicide."
Ms. Delightful was replaced with a picture of Calamity, with a large question mark overlayed.
"However, the mastermind behind this horrifying ordeal, S-Rank villainess Calamity, remains at large. The students reported she fled the oil rig moments before they achieved their escape. While questions linger on the scope of Calamity's plans and her overall objective in targeting these promising future heroes, her whereabouts are currently unknown, and authorities have issued a worldwide alert for any information regarding her identity or location. She's considered extremely dangerous. If you see her, contact the authorities."
The scene switched to footage of the students being escorted off a dock, and towards their families: some of them were clearly wearing makeshift bandages, but most of them were dealing with exhaustion, if the way they were slumping was a hint.
"Doctors are currently keeping the class in observation, to ensure their swift recovery. U.A. officials have yet to release a full statement, but unofficially both faculty and professional heroes are lauding the students' courage and quick thinking in the face of danger."
The image switched again, this time to a shot of U.A.'s stadium from the air.
"Meanwhile, preparations for U.A.'s annual Super Sports Festival continue. In the aftermath of this event, the public has become more eager to witness the skills of these resilient trainees. How will the students' ordeal shape their performance, and what challenges lie ahead for the young heroes who have already survived a brush with death?"
The largest meeting hall in the Hero Public Safety Commission's headquarters was now hosting an emergency council. The tall windows in the far wall granted an expansive view of the city below, and let in broad daylight that illuminated a long, oval table, around which Japan's most prominent heroes and officials gathered. Despite the good weather outside, the mood in the room was tense enough to be cut with a knife, and filled with a sense of urgency.
All Might sat at the head of the table, arms folded over his broad chest: in spite of his outward confidence and smile, his eyes betrayed a grim seriousness. His son Reactor stood next to him, in a reflection of his role and connection to the older hero. Endeavor and Hawks, Japan's current Number Two and Three heroes, stood at the sides, taking a look at the rest of the room, filled with their fellow Top Ten heroes, as well as other heroes and police investigators known for their prowess in the art of discerning the truth.
And, high above, the vaulted ceiling's lights gleamed off polished surfaces, while hushed voices and the hum of air conditioning provided the only sound in the otherwise silent room.
"Alright, let's begin," All Might said, his deep, resonant voice filling the chamber. While he still exuded confidence, those who knew him could tell the heaviness in his tone.
Naomasa Tsukauchi, Japan's foremost police investigator, cleared his throat.
"Thank you all for gathering so swiftly. I'll get straight to the point: we've confirmed that the recent kidnapping of U.A. University's Heroics 101 students was orchestrated by S-Rank villain Calamity, in collaboration with Ms. Delightful." He paused, letting the murmur of discontent ripple through the room, before continuing. "Fortunately, the students captured the latter, but Calamity remains at large."
"It's downright unacceptable that we lost track of Calamity," Endeavor said, his fiery gaze settling on Tsukauchi. "That villain nearly executed an entire class of hero students, one of them being my son. She can't be allowed to roam free."
"We got Delightful, though," Hawks replies. "Has she said anything?"
Tsukauchi shook his head, grimly.
"She claims to have no knowledge of Calamity's network or any co-conspirators, which is unusual – someone so involved in a massive operation normally has at least a few leads to spill. Right now, though, we have more questions than answers."
Across the table, Best Jeanist inclined his head.
"An operation of such a scale would have required resources, planning, and foreknowledge of the students' Quirks. The design of the labyrinth wasn't done on a whim – it was carefully crafted. It was only skill and teamwork that allowed the students to win."
"A villain as powerful as Calamity wouldn't rely solely on Ms. Delightful," Eraserhead adds. "Plus, neither of their Quirks would be able to handle the logistics required for everything needed."
"Calamity's plan clearly attempted to exploit the students weaknesses," All Might replied.
"But she underestimated them," Reactor chimed in. "The labyrinth's downfall was that none of them anticipated how quickly the students would adapt to the changed circumstances, but she won't make that mistake again."
Mirko slammed her fist onto the table, causing the top to tremble.
"We gotta find that bitch before she can pull another stunt like this," she growled.
"She's gone in the wind," Eraserhead repiled. "With Delightful being genuinely ignorant, we have no leads to her location."
Nezu cleared his throat, his small form drawing every eye.
"The intricacies of the labyrinth give me something. Calamity's never been known for her mechanical skills. There's someone else, though, who does have the skills for construction of advanced tech: Hunter."
A hush fell over the room, as heads turned towards Endeavor, whose jaw tightened visibly, and his scowl darkened. While it wasn't public knowledge, there were rumors that the S-Rank villainess considered the Todorokis her personal nemesis, while those privy to the family's history knew that the grudge was definitely personal for Endeavor.
"If she's involved," Nezu continued, "we could be dealing with a formidable partnership. Calamity's ambition, combined, with Hunter's technological genius, would be... problematic, to say the least."
Endeavor clenched his fists, as flames danced over his shoulders.
"That woman... She's caused enough damage to my family already," the Number Two Hero growled, controlling his fury. "If she's really working with Calamity, we must stop them before they strike again."
Hawks flicked a concerned glance at the flames raging around Endeavor's neck.
"We'll be focusing our resources on verifying Hunter's involvement, but we can't ignore the probability that Calamity might have forged alliances with other villains, as well," Nezu continued, adjusting his cup of tea. "Young Shield and Young Todoroki encountered and defeated a strange creature they could only call a 'Nomu'."
That had been a detail no one else knew about, catching everyone by surprise.
"All Might," Tsukauchi prodded. "Did the students say anything about that?"
All Might's expression hardened.
"From what Shield-shoujo and Todoroki-shonen said, the Nomu is a biologically engineered mutant human monster possessing multiple Quirks, two of which were Hyper Regeneration and Shock Absorption. And it wasn't meant to be part of the labyrinth – it was a savage creation, designed for pure combat. Apparently, its original purpose was to try to kill me."
"Who would dare create such an abomination?" Endeavor asked, flaring up. "That would require resources beyond typical underworld trafficking."
"Clearly, someone different from Hunter," Eraserhead added. "This 'Nomu' creature's existence implies a deep involvement with Quirk-based experimentation."
"And, before anyone asks, no, Delightful hasn't shared anything," Tsukauchi added with a grimace. "The presence of a Mutant Human is alarming enough, though – this means there's an ever larger conspiracy running in the shadows."
A hush falls over the group, as they recognize that the labyrinth's horrors extended beyond sadistic traps, and into the realm of Quirk-engineered monstrosities.
"If true, then clearly there was a reason for the kidnappings," Reactor said. "Maybe they were planning to test that Nomu, or just gather data on the students."
"Then let's get out and find them!" Mirko yelled, slamming the table again. "Two S-Rank villainesses and a monster? We can't let them strike again."
"We'll investigate Hunter's known associates," Tsukauchi stated, "and we'll also keep an eye on any suspicious movement. If she or her network resurface, we'll trace them."
Nezu nodded.
"On my part, the bigger issue is ensuring the students' safety. The Super Sports Festival approaches, and after this incident, the first years' event will be under intense public scrutiny. The students have proven their worth, but they're still developing. There'll be heightened interest – and potential threats."
"Agreed," All Might added. "We'll have to make sure the students remain vigilant. We've got watchlists, but as long as we don't know where Calamity is, we need increased vigilance. Calamity already targeted them once – she won't be happy that they escaped her."
"I'll coordinate with the rest of the staff to brief the students on potential threats," Eraserhead spoke up, his tone firm. "They'll be ready for what comes."
Nezu hopped to stand on the table.
"I already have plans for the event. We'll coordinate multiple patrols, deploy advanced scanning systems for suspicious Quirk activity, and implement immediate response protocols. As long as Calamity is around, the students remain targets."
Everyone agreed: at this point, it was necessary to present a unified front to safeguard the festival and maintain public confidence. With a few final words of agreement, Naomasa closed his files.
"We'll need consistent communication between everyone here. If you or people in your agencies finds anything, no matter how minor, make sure to share it."
"The Festival... it stands as a symbol of heroism," All Might said, his voice resonating strong and hopeful, as he looked around the table, his gaze lingering on Endeavor (still simmering about Hunter's involvement) and Nezu. "It gives aspiring heroes a chance to showcase their potential. We can't allow villains to undermine or endanger our students."
"Thank you all for your cooperation," Nezu finished. "We'll share any developments about Calamity or Hunter immediately."
The meeting adjourned, and the gathered heroes began to disperse. Some of them formed smaller groups to further strategize, while others exchanged hushed words about the seriousness of the threat.
A still agitated Endeavor flicked a gaze at Nezu.
"We'll stay on alert, Nezu," he promised.
Hawks cracked his knuckles, exhaling.
"If Calamity's in league with Hunter, they're playing a big game. We'll have to let them know we're ready to raise the stakes."
"I'll make sure to inform the students," Eraserhead said. "It's irrational to make them aware of the threat if they aren't in the know."
"I'll do what it takes to protect them," Reactor added. "We all will."
"Then, we have our course. Stay vigilant, reinforce security, and track any sign of Calamity or her associates. This isn't over."
With All Might's sentence, everyone started to make their way out of the room, until only All Might, Reactor, and Nezu remained, speaking quietly over their future plans. They knew that protecting the students during the Festival would demand every ounce of their skill, and Calamity's looming presence would weigh heavily on their minds.
Outside those walls, the entire nation awaited the Super Sports Festival, where bright-eyed hero hopefuls would display their talents underneath a beacon of hope and optimism. However, underneath that shining surface, the powers assembled in the meeting readied themselves for a potential confrontation with an enemy far more dangerous – and cunning than any they'd ever faced in recent memory.
After their harrowing escape from the labyrinth, the Heroics 101 students had grown closer, as they supported each other through their lingering anxieties and the renewed hope offered by the Festival. After Eraserhead's announcement and the cancellation of the day's lessons, they decided to take a break, and all of them chose to meet at the cafeteria, picking whatever free tables were available that would accommodate their large numbers.
Tetsutetsu, voice as boisterous as ever, stood near the entrance, thumping a fist on his steel-like chest.
"We overcame that messed-up labyrinth, right? Now it's time to show we Heroics 101 are unstoppable at the Festival!"
"Totes!" Camie said, tossing bubblegum around her mouth and grinning in her casual attire. "That labyrinth had such a bad vibe, so let's get, like, major hype this time!"
Hitoshi hovered near them, feeling reserved. Ever since the party, he'd been working at the socializing thing with his classmates, and while he was far from what the others could do, he was improving.
"Guess it's a good stage to prove how far we've come," he offered, adjusting his jacket's collar. "Not that we have much competition, since we're the only ones participating."
Near the head of the line, Ochako was brimming with energy, her usually soft brown eyes flashing with newfound fierceness. Turning to the cluster of classmates around her – Mina, Denki, Kosei, and Reiko – she rose her voice above the din.
"I'm so pumped up, guys! I plan to go all out! I'll show everyone what I'm made of!" she said, giving a fist pump – while just a few paces behind, Izuku and Katsuki looked on, impressed and maybe a bit amused. However, their reactions were short-lived, as they stood by the beverage dispensers while Melissa picked up her utensils for lunch, when a tall figure approached – causing a sudden hush to creep over nearby students.
"Midoriya-shonen, Bakugo-shonen, Shield-shoujo," All Might said, his towering presence unmistakable in the middle of the cafeteria. His blue eyes flickered with apologetic yet firm resolve, as he looked upon the three of them. "I need a word with the three of you in my office. Immediately."
Izuku nearly fumbled his bottle, while Katsuki narrowed his eyes.
"All Might? Did something happen?" Izuku asked.
"Tch, first time you're pulling us outta lunch," Katsuki replied.
"Of course, we'll come right away!" Melissa added, leaving her pick on the tray, while their classmates looked on with surprise. Typically, All Might didn't single out individual students, much less three of them at once. Neito mumbled something about 'special treatment', while Itsuka raised an eyebrow in curious concern.
"Sorry, everyone," Izuku managed to let out, casting a glance at the others. "We'll, um, see you soon!"
In a flurry, the trio trailed after All Might, leaving behind stunned whispers and a swirl of conjecture about what urgent matter had prompted the Symbol of Peace to call them forth. However, despite the intrigue, lunch beckoned, and the group found their spots in a cluster of tables near the tall windows. The only stand out was Shoto, who chose to remain at the fringe, observing rather than trying to engage the others, who shared comedic banter about each other's Quirks or discussed their training for the Festival.
For example, Mina chose to tease Ochako about her heightened energy, and the latter suddenly found herself torn between excitement and nerves. Seeing the gazes and warm smiles of those around her, she set down her chopsticks and cleared her throat.
"Well... there's a reason for that... why I'm pushing myself. I, um, want to be a hero because... I need money."
Everyone nearby fell silent upon hearing those words.
"It's not that I am greedy," she rushed on, cheeks coloring. "It's just – my parents run a small construction business, but they're barely making ends meet. I wanted to use my Quirk to help them at work, but they told me to follow my dreams to become a hero. And... if I become a hero, I can earn a lot of money and help them. Give them the life they deserve, take them abroad on holidays. I could change their livelihood."
Soft understanding dawned on the table: all their friend wanted was to help her loved ones.
"That's very noble," Momo said, giving her a kind smile. "Your Quirk would have reduced overhead costs for their construction, but they chose to let you help everybody. And you want to help them as you do that, too."
"Yes, exactly," Itsuka agreed, smiling as well. "I don't see that as shallow, Uraraka, you simply want to support your family."
"Yeah! That's super manly!" Eijiro joined in, smacking a fist on the table. "You want to use your Quirk to hold up your parents!"
Hitoshi gave a small chuckle: after everything he had heard, finding that Ochako's motive was this simple came off as refreshing.
"I guess heroes come in many forms," he murmured, earning an appreciative nod from Ochako, as everyone else nearby offered their agreement with their companions, which made Ochako relax in relief.
"I'm so glad you guys understand," she said. "I was worried you'd think I wasn't 'heroic' enough."
"Nah, you're good, Uraraka-san," Denki offered, giving her a reassuring thumbs-up. "We've all got reasons – yours are just extra down-on-earth."
A quiet chorus of support followed, as everyone gave their silent opinion on Ochako's personal drive. And then conversation turned to the question of what had happened just moments before.
"First time he's singled them out," Setsuna said, smirking. "Suspicious timing, huh?"
"Could be new training, or maybe he wants to ask more about the labyrinth?" Neito reasoned. "Lucky them, they get All Might's personal attention."
"Wouldn't we all?" Awase asked. "The Symbol of Peace investing time in them? There must be a reason, we just don't know it yet."
Hitoshi recalled how Izuku had mentioned how much he admired All Might. Maybe All Might wanted to gauge their progress?
Momo knew that Melissa's father was David Shield, widely known to be All Might's first sidekick and currently a leading figure in I-Island. To her, the peculiar thing was the inclusion of both boys.
Meanwhile, Shoto continued sipping his drink, and wondered if All Might just planned to guide those three, a notion that stirred mild envy and curiosity within him, along with admiration for Ochako's heartfelt revelation, which reminded him that each of his classmates had unique reasons for becoming heroes.
He turned to his closest classmate, Reiko.
"Do you think All Might sees them as special? Like... a chosen group?" he asked.
"Possibly. They performed exceptionally in the labyrinth. We only know what we see, though," she replied in a quiet monotone.
He mulled that over, nodding. The pre-Quirk samurai ideals he admired told him that perhaps All Might had chosen to pass on his wisdom, in a classical master-disciple sense – an idea he found both intimidating and strangely appealing.
U.A.'s corridors seemed quieter than usual as Izuku, Katsuki, and Melissa followed their teacher to his office, each step resonating with anticipation. The sunlight entering through the tall windows felt subdued, almost as if the world were holding its breath for whatever revelation they were about to receive. Even now, with the scars of the Classroom Labyrinth still in their hearts, an even more profound sense of gravity loomed.
The office itself held an air of dignified solemnity. Framed photos of heroic feats and past triumphs lined the walls, but the typical shine of their symbolic achievements felt overshadowed by the hush in the room. At the center stood All Might, exuding a subdued seriousness that felt out of place in the Symbol of Peace. And, near a corner, his arms folder in a stance of quiet resolve, was Reactor, looking just as grave as his adoptive father.
Izuku exchanged a nervous glance with Katsuki, who responded with a slight scowl, concealing his uncertainty behind a veneer of bravado. Melissa, for her part, tried to keep her breathing steady. She had grown up calling All Might "Uncle Might," but the summoning felt more formal – and weightier – than any personal visit to I-Island.
As soon as the trio stepped inside, All Might inclined his head, greeting them with a quiet "Welcome." Reactor's stern nod confirmed the importance of this meeting. The door shut behind them, locking out the rest of the bustling campus.
A pause lingered before Melissa stepped forward, summoning her courage.
"Izuku, Katsuki, there's something I need you both to know," she began, voice trembling only slightly. "All Might isn't just my teacher. I... I call him 'Uncle Might,' and Reactor is my cousin."
Katsuki's eyes widened at her words, the mild scowl giving way to pure astonishment.
"You what? Are you fucking with us?" he barked, confusion stirring in his tone.
Izuku wasn't as surprised, though: he knew that David Shield had been All Might's friend for decades, and his conversations with Melissa during their elective Support class had made it obvious.
"So... you really are family?" he asked, voice hushed.
"By choice, mostly," Melissa admitted. "We aren't blood related, obviously but we still consider each other family. And since Uncle Might adopted Reactor, he's pretty much my cousin."
She forced a smile, her eyes darting to Katsuki, who still looked off-balance.
"I've known Shield-shoujo since she was a child," All Might spoke gently. "My bond of trust with David Shield has held strong over the years, and I've helped guide her all of her life."
Katsuki remained silent, stunned, as he glanced between Melissa and All Might, struggling to reconcile the image of his childhood idol with the idea of him being a father figure to someone else besides Reactor.
"This is... insane," he finally muttered, shoving his hands into his pockets to hide any trembling.
"I'm sorry for not telling you earlier," Melissa offered, bowing her head apologetically. "I just wanted to be seen as my own person, not as David Shield's daughter or All Might's niece. But, after everything we've been through... I think honesty is best."
Izuku placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
"It's okay, Melissa-chan. You don't owe us your life history, and that you'd trust us with that means a lot."
Katsuki just grunted in acceptance, although Izuku could tell he was still rattled.
"Fine, but... I wasn't expecting that bombshell. Just means you had more reason to keep secrets, I guess."
All Might allowed a faint, warm smile, as the tension in the air tempered, but then Reactor cleared his throat.
"That's not the main reason Dad asked you to come here. There's a bigger secret we believe you deserve to know."
Izuku's eyes flickered with curiosity. Ever since they got out of the labyrinth, he had felt something monumental brewing, but he wasn't prepared for the gravity emanating from All Might. Meanwhile, Katsuki felt a prickle of unease, even as he tried to hide it behind his crossed arms posture: he'd never seen his idol so... grave.
"All right," he muttered, trying to force a semblance of composure. "Spill it."
Melissa, meanwhile, glanced between them, worried: the taut seriousness in Uncle Might's stance only confirmed her suspicions went beyond the festival or the events of the labyrinth.
As his pupils stood, All Might exhaled, summoning the courage to proceed.
"What I'm about to tell you is a secret only a handful of individuals in the world shares. There's a Quirk called One for All – a power that can be passed from one person to another."
His words struck the teens like a thunderbolt. Katsuki's brows shot up, Melissa inhaled a soft gasp, and even Izuku, who already suspected something, felt a tingle of shock at hearing it spoken aloud.
"A Quirk... you can pass on?" he echoed, his voice trembling as his mind raced. He recalled hints and rumors, but he'd never expected such a confirmation.
"That's... unheard of," Melissa added. "You said it's called One for All?"
"Yes," All Might replied, nodding. "One for All accumulates power with each new wielder, growing stronger every generation. Until a few years ago, I was a wielder of it myself."
Katsuki clenched his fists, confusion overshadowing the faint jolt of excitement (or was it envy?) roiling within him.
"Why the hell tell us now?"
"Because we believe you've earned the right to know," Reactor replied, before All Might could answer. "You three have proven you can handle dangerous truths. And this is one of them, particularly since One for All exists for a dire purpose – defeating its nemesis, All for One."
"All for One..." Melissa repeated, her brow knitting: even if she couldn't quite grasp the history behind it, she could sense the enormity in those words. "I think I've heard of that. Some... villain that could steal Quirks? But I thought it was a legend."
"He's real?!" Izuku asked, shocked. "And One for All was created to fight him, wasn't it?"
"Yes, Midoriya-shonen, although not exactly. All for One is an ancient supervillain, centuries old, able to steal Quirks and bestow them upon others at will. One for All... surged by accident. One caused by All for One himself. But still, a power specifically designed to oppose him, passed down through the ages, until he finally falls."
"You... you fought this guy, right?" Katsuki asked, his features hardening.
"Indeed. I thought he was gone, as did the world... but after recent events, I believe he's still alive." The hush that followed spoke volumes of the danger that might yet return.
"But... why share this with us specifically?" Melissa asked, the same question that had been in Izuku's and Katsuki's minds. "Is it not enough that we overcame the Labyrinth?"
Reactor exchanged a look with All Might before turning back to them.
"We share this with you because of how decisively you overcame it. That, and we trust you. This is the type of knowledge that could shape your future path as heroes."
Izuku felt a stirring of pride, mingled with awe. He thought he'd known everything about All Might's legacy, but this overshadowed every rumor he'd heard. A generations-spanning vendetta? It made his own dream of heroism feel small – yet important.
"So, that's it..." Katsuki found his voice while grappling with shock. "You want us to keep it secret, in case that freak shows up?"
"We trust you, and your discretion. If words spreads, it could endanger the current wielder, and those close to them."
"Wait, Uncle Might..." Melissa said, honing in on a particular phrase. "You said you were the wielder, but that means... you passed it on?"
"Yes," All Might admitted, nodding at Reactor. "My son became the latest bearer of One for All a few years ago: he's been carrying that burden as my successor, and I'm supporting him to the best of my ability. I hope you see why it must remain confidential."
"It was the only way," Reactor added, meeting Melissa's astonished stare. "Because there's something else we need to show you. The reality beneath the hero."
Reactor gave his father a supportive node, and All Might gave a gentle shimmer and... morphed. His massive musculature dwindled, and a wisp of steam escaped his body as the larger-than-life hero was replaced by a tall, gaunt man, whose shallow cheeks and weary eyes were starkly different to those of the Symbol of Peace. Izuku and Katsuki recoiled in shock.
"You're... not big and buff?" the latter asked. "Is this some kind of fucking illusion?!"
"I wish," the reduced All Might replied, giving a sad, wry smile. "I assure you this is no illusion, Bakugo-shonen."
The man lifted his shirt, revealing a large, disfiguring scar that raked across his torso, and even now they could see how his breath was shallow.
"My name is Yagi Toshinori, and this... has been my reality for years. During our last fight, All for One dealt me this injury, and nearly killed me in the process. Between this, and passing One for All to Reactor, I can only maintain my heroic form for a limited time nowadays."
He could have told them about New Order, the power that had been implanted in him by the MT Institute... but it wasn't his full secret. And, even then, he knew that he would have to retire, sooner or later. Better to rip off the band-aid, so to speak.
"You... you're so... different," Katsuki mumbled, his eyes riveted on the fragile figure that once symbolized absolute power. He could barely believe it, even after seeing it. "I always thought you were unstoppable, but... that's how you got those injuries in the first place?"
"Yes. I lost my stomach and my left lung, and I was lucky I didn't bleed out in the process."
"All Might... no, Toshinori-sensei..." Izuku said, his breath hitching and eyes stinging, "you've been suffering all of this? You've been carrying this burden all along."
"Dad and I have known for years," Melissa admitted. "He's visited I-Island like this sometimes. It's never easy to see him look so frail, when the world thinks he's perfect."
"Why show us this now?" Katsuki asked, his eyes blazing, his fists balled. "This shit changes everything!"
"Because I want you to understand that, for all of its power, One for All is not invincible, and I'm not untouchable. Every hero is, at their heart, human. And you need to accept that truth if you want to be ready for what lies ahead."
Katsuki tried to reply, say anything – but words were failing him. Izuku felt a swirl of pity for his mentor and idol, but also of reverence. Melissa reaffirmed her loyalty and love silently. And Reactor set a hand on his father's shoulder, supporting him. The tension thickened for moments, only for it to soften as Toshinori released a steady breath and regained his heroic form. While they knew it was a façade, the transformation still evoked awe.
"Midoriya-shonen, Bakugo-shonen, Melissa-shoujo..." All Might continued. "Despite these new burdens, I know you will live up to the promise that you represent as future heroes. And... the Super Sports Festival is upon us. It'll be your chance to showcase your growth and potential. Please, don't let these revelations overshadow your drive to excel."
Katsuki's breathing steadied, as the puzzle pieces fell into place. This knowledge wasn't meant for bragging rights: no, as long as villains like All for One were still out there, perhaps even the future of heroes as an entity was in danger.
"Damn," he muttered. "No wonder you wanted us to push ourselves so hard."
Izuku drew a deep breath, as he tried to take it all in. The nightmares from the labyrinth, or the summer festival incident where he and Katsuki fought a monster... none of it compared to the revelations that had just been shared. But All Might's faith in them stirred something bright in his chest.
"We promise," he said. "We won't let you down, or betray your trust."
As for Melissa... she was still feeling an undercurrent of shock at learning of her uncle's involvement in such a series of events. But she knew she would still keep her unwavering support.
"I... I'll keep it secret. Thank you for telling me."
All Might let out another smile at hearing them.
"The three of you hold a unique place in the future of heroism, and we wanted you to know the full stakes. One for All and All for One define the core conflict overshadowing us, but the world remains largely unaware."
"But, let's talk of nicer things now!" Reactor added, his face lightening. "We want you to give everything you've got at the Festival! Show the world how you overcame the labyrinth, how you stand strong, unshaken by adversity!"
"So, this Festival... how does it work, exactly? I can tell it's an important event, but I've never followed it."
"Oh!" Izuku exclaimed, clearing his throat. "Once, it was an event held in U.A.s own stadium, but ever since U.A. bought Kuinetto Island, it's become a competition for the 40 Heroics major students in each year, formed by six events that test different aspects of hero work, and with each event eliminating a number of contestants. First comes the Obstacle Race, which consists of running through a large highway with three obstacles blocking the path, going from the mainland to Kuinetto Island. After that comes Survival, which is just an all-out knockout elimination match."
"Then, it's Hyper Bomber," Katsuki continued. "You have to get points by finding several panels. There's also three special panels that, if you can find them all and put them together, you instantly win the event."
"The fourth event is Submarine," Izuku added, "a game where you are split in teams, separated by walls that don't let you see each other, and you have to hit the other teams with these water bombs while you dodge the opponents' bombs."
"And the fifth is Panel Paint," Katsuki finished. "Instead of fighting each other, you have to capture territory by stepping or attacking different panels to turn them to your color. Whoever has the most panels at the end wins."
"That's five," Melissa pointed out, intrigued. "What's the last one?"
Behind them, All Might and Reactor smiled, seeing the boys help their friend.
"That's Ring Match, a best two-of-three ring-out tournament. The last eight students are tested on their raw combat skill, and the final match is the one that gives the winner," Katsuki said.
"Wow..." Melissa replied, her eyes sparkling with interest. "So, it's a complete range of skill, strategy, and Quirk usage."
"Hell yeah!" Katsuki said, smirking. "That's where we'll prove we're the best! And after all this stuff about One for All, you better believe I'll be unstoppable! I'm going to put on a real show!"
"It's a chance for us to prove ourselves, show everyone how far we've come," Izuku said, managing a more hopeful grin. "We won't let these revelations hold us back."
"Thank you for telling us, Uncle Might. I promise you, we won't let you down at the Festival!"
"That's all we ask," All Might replied, beaming with fatherly pride. "Use your determination to shine! I'm certain you will all become pillars of our hero society."
"Thank you for accepting our truths," Reactor added, quietly. "Let the Festival be your next hero frontier and future."
The late afternoon sunlight of spring bathed U.A.'s sprawling campus, casting long shadows across the walkways. Classes had just ended, and students flooded from lecture halls and practical labs, voices mingling in the open air. And, amid the bustling crowd, the forty members of Heroics 101 moved as a unit towards their dormitory, keen on recharging after a rigorous day of schoolwork.
As the group passed by, a subtle hush swept around them, punctuated by whispers from the other majors, who turned to watch the survivors of the Labyrinth, a sense of awe painted across their features. Rumors had taken root, and the term 'S-Class' was starting to spread.
"Dude, those are the ones that escaped that oil rig, right?" a second-year from General Studies whispered to a friend, gripping his textbooks.
"Yeah..." said friend replied, looking with mingled respect and trepidation. "Those villains wanted to kill them, but none of them did. Heard one of them even beat Calamity!"
"That's insane."
Katsuki strode at the front of the group, his hands shoved in his pockets as his brow knitted in a scowl. As several of the other students lingered in their path, he let out a sharp huff.
"Oi, quit your damn gawking and move!" he snapped, glowering at the small cluster, who scrambled aside, startled.
Several of his classmates cringed at Katsuki's abruptness.
"Aww, that's not helping," Ochako said under her breath, feeling the onlookers recoil.
"C'mon, Bakugo," Mina berated him, shaking her head in mild exasperation. "We just got a decent nickname, don't go scaring them off like that."
"Like I give a fuck," Katsuki replied. After all the revelations from earlier in the day, he was too tense to care about anything, and he pressed forward, ignoring his classmates' worried glances, as they feared his brusque manners might tarnish their reputation.
Trailing just behind Katsuki, Izuku picked up on his best friend's underlying turmoil. Katsuki's shock at what All Might had revealed to them had been obvious, even if he tried to hide it behind bravado.
'No wonder he's on edge,' he mused, sympathy tugging at his heart, while he felt grateful that his entire class had managed to survive the labyrinth nightmare. While their collective skill had earned them an almost legendary status on campus, it also weighed heavily on them.
Well, not on all of them.
"Well, well, look at all those frightened faces!" Neito called to a group of General Studies students, grinning as he reveled in the attention. He even threw an arm wide, adopting the theatrical air. "Curious about our 'S-Class' heroics, hmm? I doubt you could last five minutes in that labyrinth we conquered."
A collective groan swept through the Heroics 101 ranks, audible enough to cause some passersby to blink in confusion. Itsuka hit him in the back of the head, while Momo shook her head.
"Monoma, cut it out," she pleaded. However, her tone hid a hint of long-suffering amusement. Meanwhile, Tetsutetsu and Eijiro gave identical hearty laughs, mixing embarrassment and pride.
"You're not lying, but c'mon, we don't need to rub it in," they told their classmate.
Even the quieter ones like Reiko and Fumikage sighed under their breaths, while Hitoshi threw him a mildly disapproving look.
"Some humility wouldn't hurt, man," he murmured, adjusting his backpack strap. However, Neito just didn't know how to quit while he was ahead, and kept basking in the onlookers' wide-eyed stares.
"We overcame Ms. Delightful's twisted games, and now we've got the entire campus buzzing! You can't blame me for feeling a bit vindicated."
Much to the others' relief, the towering silhouette of the Heights Alliance dorm came into view: the sudden change made them grateful to retreat from the gawking crowds. But, in the final stretch, the whispers persisted – whispers of the 'S-Class' and the labyrinth's horrors, swirling around them like an intangible cloak.
Katsuki slowed his stride and threw a fleeting glance to Izuku, who met his gaze with quiet empathy. No words were spoken, but Izuku hoped his friend would sense the support and understanding he offered: despite his harsh bark at the other students, he could tell he was still shaken from learning All Might's secrets.
Finally, they reached the dorm's tall doors, and they filed inside, exchanging a few words and contemplating the next day's training. Ochako even tried to throw a pep talk, encouraging everyone to pick their new moniker as a badge of honor.
Meanwhile, Izuku gave a silent prayer that his best friend would decompress and find a healthier way to express his jumbled emotions. He also wondered whether the entire campus might learn of One for All or All for One.
For now, though, everyone headed for their rooms. They had left a day of classes, and the Super Sports Festival was lying just ahead of them. If half the campus wanted to call them 'S-Class'... well, so be it. They'd prove worthy of the moniker and all the linked rumors soon enough.
The next morning, the early sun bathed U.A. University's private training grounds in golden light, warming the dew kissed grass beneath Izuku's feet. Tucked away at the far edge of the campus, the field sprawled across a half-acre of specialized terrain: some sections were reinforced with advanced materials, while others were blanketed in shock-absorbing pads. It was all built, carefully designed to allow students to train their Quirks without endangering bystanders.
Izuku considered it his sanctuary.
Breathing steadily, he stood in the center of a newly painted circle, heart pounding as he pondered the revelations from the past few days. A monumental swirl of truths, heavy and unnerving.
He flexed his fingers, glancing at a small note pad strapped to his wrist, filled with scribbled points on mastery techniques for Omni-Potent. Even years after he got his Quirk, he was still unraveling the wide spectrum of abilities it gave him, and perfecting them demanded relentless experimentation.
"I can let what happened to me define me," he whispered into the crisp morning air. "I survived it all – together with my friends. And now, we face the Super Sports Festival... and the threat All Might warned us about."
The fact that All Might and Reactor had trusted him, Katsuki, and Melissa with such a secret still brought awe to him, and stoked an ember of conviction in his chest.
He inhaled again, focusing on Mover, and allowing the faint green aura to flicker over his body, and letting the air around him tingle with potential energy. Before discovering Omni-Potent, he'd never dreamt of harnessing so many versatile abilities at once. The fact that he'd been born with something so immensely powerful... it still marveled him, after all these years.
"I have no right to waste it," he told himself, voice wavering with emotion. "Not when All Might, Reactor, Mom, and Kacchan's parents believe in me... not when society might depend on me someday."
Shifting to Brute, he felt his muscles thrum with power, as green turned to red. A light stomp caused the ground to shake, before the specialized terrain absorbed the localized quake. A wave of adrenaline rippled through him – a near-mythic resonance of strength. Part of him shivered to think what might happen if he lost control.
But that fear only fed his resolve. His mind flashed back to the moment they confronted Ms. Delightful's traps, and Calamity herself – the instant he realized no one else was coming to save them. They had to save themselves.
We did save ourselves. I had to fight Calamity, and I was never afraid.
Izuku clenched a fist.
"I'll keep training. I'll refine every aspect of Omni-Potent. I'll show the world I won't falter."
The vow steeled his spine, echoing in the quiet expanse of the training field, and he switched to Thinker. A faint blue hue sparked across his eyes, and suddenly he could see beyond normality. Every hint of data, every subtle pattern in the environment, jumped to his eyes and into his consciousness. More ideas on how to optimize his Quirk soared in his thoughts like lightning. He used the clarity to push beyond his previous limits, and added even more notes to his notepad – before closing it. It was time for another round of combined aspect usage.
The time for timidity or complacency had passed long time ago for Izuku. Now, every fiber in his body burned to prove himself, both to All Might and Reactor, who had done so much for him and his friend, and to the hero community. Omni-Potent was a Quirk unlike any other; he was determined to let it flourish, not just for his own dream, but for the sake of everyone that might depend on him one day.
And so, with the sun rising behind him, Izuku launched into a new practice sequence, leaps and blasts of energy rippling across the training ground. Each motion carried the weight of new knowledge, a stirring purpose that transcended any incident or event. Whether he was "born with" such a Quirk or it was cosmic fate, he would prove worthy of it. No labyrinth, no secret war, and no shadow of a Quirk-stealing menace like All for One would stand in his way. Not when he had the conviction to stand tall and show the world exactly what Izuku Midoriya – the aspiring hero – was made of.
Meanwhile, in a different specialized training zone on campus, Katsuki Bakugo stretched his arms skyward, glaring at a series of moving targets. He'd demanded a complex environment that forced him to practice agility and control. The walls were adjustable, shifting at irregular intervals to mimic unpredictably shifting terrain.
He'd been back here daily, earlier than usual, prodded by a new spark in his gut. All the revelations had rattled him deeper than he'd ever admit – but, if there was one emotion Katsuki channeled best, it was pride-driven determination.
He ignited twin blasts from his palms, launching himself with explosive momentum.
"You'd better watch, All Might," he snarled under his breath, weaving through falling obstacles. BOOM – an explosion tore a path, toppling a training dummy. "I'll show you that I'm... going to surpass you. No ancient psycho freak is stopping me."
Shoto exhaled slowly in the specialized courtyard, the cold burn of frost rising on his right side while a flicker of flame danced along his left. His newly forged katana, crafted from heat-resistant and ice-conductive alloys, cut through the crisp air in a measured arc. Each swing radiated power–steam hissed where flame met ice shards, forming a haunting harmony of opposing elements. A few onlookers from General Studies watched from a distance, transfixed by the seamless blend of swordsmanship and quirk usage.
He paused, lifting the blade to rest against his shoulder, mind drifting to the reason he'd redoubled his training these past days. A memory unfurled in his thoughts, the vividness washing over him like a gentle surge.
They were at the arrivals gate of Narita International Airport, the hustle of travelers weaving through the tall windows. Shoto stood behind his family – Enji, Rei, Natsuo, and Fuyumi – all quietly awaiting the flight from New York. His father maintained a stoic air, arms crossed, but a faint tremor of excitement clung to him. Rei clasped her hands, smiling despite her eyes betraying a swirl of emotion. Natsuo rocked on his heels, occasionally checking the overhead screens.
Moments later, a figure appeared among the stream of disembarking passengers – a tall young man in casual Western-style clothes showing his athletic well-built physique with his white hair, a vibrant grin lighting up his features. Toya Todoroki, known in the hero world as the Blue Fire Hero Ryu, paused when he spotted his family. A small wave of relief and delight flickered in his eyes.
"There he is!" Natsuo exclaimed, stepping forward.
But before he could call out, Fuyumi let out a gleeful squeal.
"Toya-nii!" she said, launching into a full sprint. She collided with her older brother in a forceful hug that nearly toppled him over.
"Whoa, Fuyumi," Toya laughed, catching her with surprising ease, spinning her once. "Missed me that much, huh?"
Fuyumi's voice was muffled against Toya's jacket.
"You have no idea! You finally came back to visit!" She pulled away slightly, tears gathering in the corners of her eyes, but a radiant smile on her lips.
Enji and Rei approached more sedately, exchanging formal words of greeting.
"Oh, it's so good to see you again after you moved to New York," Rei said, coming in to join Fuyumi in the hug.
"I've heard about your achievements. So proud of your hero work in New York..." Enji warmly said, making a small smile.
"Thanks, dad!"
Toya smiled at his father's compliment. Natsuo hovered behind, arms folded but wearing a grin that mirrored Fuyumi's warmth. Shoto remained a step back, taking in the scene. Despite Toya's heroic reputation overseas, he was simply "Toya-nii" to the family – a beloved older brother returning to his roots. When Toya's gaze flicked to Shoto, he offered a playful salute.
"So," Toya said, voice brimming with affection. "I hear there's a big festival coming up at U.A., and my little brother's set to blow everyone away."
A quiet jolt of pride and apprehension shot through Shoto's chest.
"Yeah. I – I'll do my best," he managed. He recalled the challenge in Toya's grin, that subtle glint that said he was eager to see just how far Shoto had come.
Behind them, airport announcements droned on. But all Shoto heard was the silent vow he made in that instant. He'd train harder than ever, to show his older brother Toya that the boy was now forging a balanced mastery of both flame and ice.
He let out a breath as the memory receded, returning to the courtyard. The onlookers' hushed awe reminded him how far he'd grown, yet how much further he could push. This training was personal now – an unspoken promise to himself, to his brother, and to his entire family.
With fresh resolve, Shoto resumed his stance, katana gripped firmly. He swept a controlled slash, letting a bloom of flame hiss across an icicled silhouette. Sparks danced, and steam filled the air. He pictured Toya and the rest of his other family standing in the festival stands, the former watching intently.
'I'll show you, Nii-san,' he thought, feeling the swirl of heat and frost intensify in his chest. 'I will master both halves of me... and prove my worth as a true hero.'
Across the sprawling U.A. University campus, day by day, the entire Heroics 101 class poured sweat and determination into mastering their Quirks and capabilities. Each personal space became a crucible of ambition: from Tenya's breakneck track laps to Shihai's silent merges with shadows, from Jurota's bestial leaps to Hitoshi's psychological triggers. Every step, every beam, every swirl of acid or wave of telekinesis carried them closer to the Super Sports Festival.
Late evening lamps cast a warm glow inside Itsuka's dorm room at the Heights Alliance, offering a cozy respite from the busy campus corridors. Shelves lined one wall, stacked with martial arts training manuals and a few potted plants. The air thrummed with quiet anticipation, as six young women – members of Heroics 101 – crowded in a circle on the plush rug.
Itsuka herself, wearing casual sweatpants and an old martial arts tank top, fussed with the pillows scattered around, making sure everyone had a comfortable spot. Momo sat neatly, her posture regal even in an informal setting, fiddling with the edge of her skirt. Ochako huddled by a beanbag, scanning the others with wide, curious eyes. Mina had plopped down cross-legged, elbows on knees, a suppressed excitement dancing in her pink features. Setsuna blew a stray green lock out of her face, a half-smile tugging at her lips. And Camie, clad in stylish loungewear, bounced her foot impatiently, bubble gum in the corner of her cheek.
A hush fell as they exchanged meaningful looks. Each knew the reason for this unusual gathering.
Itsuka inhaled deeply, glancing from one friend to the next.
"Thanks for coming," she began, her voice quieter than usual. "I, well, we all suspect we have feelings for a certain someone. We need to sort this out so it doesn't break our friendship."
Momo nodded gravely, knitting her fingers in her lap.
"Yes, I appreciate you inviting me, Itsuka-san. We should handle this openly."
Ochako exhales, lips curving into a shy grin.
"Feels weird, right? Sitting in a circle like a... a confessional. But I guess we can't keep tiptoeing around it."
"We're the girls of Heroics 101!" Mina said, pumping a fist. "We overcame a labyrinth, so we can handle some love talk, right?"
"I'd bet my life this is about Green. And from your faces, I'm guessing I'm not wrong."
At that name, a palpable ripple of acknowledgment passed through them all. Their shared admiration for that earnest, green-haired boy who overcame so much with them glowed in each expression. Camie shot them a wink.
"Yup, it's all about that cutie Izu-bro. Or as I like to call him... Smokeshow," she half-joked, rolling her eyes at the memory of him beating her in the Quirk Apprehension Test's 50-meter dash. "So hot and lit, you know?"
Clearing her throat, Itsuka straightened.
"Okay. I'll... I'll go first." She fiddled with a small trophy resting on her shelf – an old martial arts award. "I've known Izu-kun since we were little, back at a kids' martial arts class. He was the scrawny boy who always offered to be my partner in drills, never minding that I was strong. He'd talk about heroes both real and Tokusatsu nonstop. Something about that fiery determination and humble attitude stuck in my heart."
There was a wistful spark in her brown eyes as she remembered.
"He was the reason I kept up with training. Even if we lost contact when his family moved, I never forgot his kindness, but I kept his cellphone number so we kept talking. Then we physically reunited at U.A. University's Entrance Exam orientation, and it was like seeing that old dream alive again – but stronger. My feelings were cemented that day."
Momo offered a soft, understanding smile.
"So you have deep history with him. That's lovely." She shifted in her seat, her cheeks turning faintly pink. "In my case, I met Izuku-kun about 2 weeks before the U.A. Heroics Entrance Exam. He talked with me a bit and took me to eat at very popular burger joint then we exchanged numbers."
"Wait, is it Big Bob's Burgers?" Itsuka asked.
Momo nodded. Itsuka chuckled and shakes her head.
"Of course. The family who owns and runs the popular joint came from the US or more specifically New Jersey. The father is Japanese-American though, but I'm getting too ahead of myself, you were continuing to share your feelings on Izu-kun, Yaomomo."
"I... I was nervous about U.A. University, not for intellect or quirk usage, but for the social aspect of hero work. One evening, I found him at a small, training facility. He was practicing alone with Omni-Potent." Her gaze drifted. "He noticed my anxiety and offered to spar with me. I was stunned by how gently he coaxed out the best in my Creation Quirk. He kept praising me for each success, and when I faltered, he never ridiculed – he purely encouraged. I felt valued, as a person, not just an heir to a wealthy family."
She closed her eyes.
"He said something like, 'Your quirk can do anything, but it's your heart that gives it true purpose.' That line – it resonated. After that day, I realized my insecurities were dwarfed by the kindness and moral support he gave. My feelings took root then..."
A mere week before the U.A. University Heroics Entrance Exam, Momo Yaoyorozu found herself pacing through the corridors of a private training facility near Musutafu. She clutched a small notebook against her chest – her personal reference for Quirk training, scribbled with theories on optimizing her Creation. Despite her resolute demeanor, her nerves buzzed. The pressure of the upcoming semester weighed heavily on her, and the day's earlier attempts at group synergy drills had left her rattled.
She entered the facility's main hall – a vast, foam-cushioned chamber with adjustable obstacles and breakaway walls designed to accommodate explosive or wide-ranging quirks. The lights cast a steady glow on the polished floor.
Glancing around, Momo remembered that a certain green-haired boy had also been granted special access to this place: Izuku Midoriya, a exam candidate. She had met him once before, briefly, talking with her and treating her to a rather very good burger joint called Big Bob's Burgers so they kept in contact ever since then. She gleaned that his Omni-Potent quirk was broad and potent. He had explained to her how it encompassed multiple 'aspects', each granting different combat or support capabilities. Intriguing as it was, Momo had only gleaned a fraction of how formidable it could be.
As she walked in, she spotted that same boy in the far corner. Dressed in comfortable athletic wear, Izuku was immersed in an intense training routine. Snippets of energy radiated around his limbs, fluctuating in color, as he shifted between aspects. She watched for a moment, the synergy of movements and quirk usage fascinating her. A flash of Mover – his form blurred in a burst of speed. Then Brute – muscles tensing as he landed a heavy blow on a practice dummy.
Momo inhaled and willed away her hesitance. She and Izuku were at least acquaintances now, and she couldn't let her worries about overshadowing him (or being overshadowed) keep her from beneficial training. Summoning her composure, she approached carefully.
He sensed her presence, pivoting mid-strike, the aura flickering away.
"Yaoyorozu-san?" he greeted, eyebrows raised. "Didn't think anyone else would be here this late."
Despite the sweat beading on his brow, Izuku smiled warmly, a gesture of genuine kindness. Momo felt a knot of tension ease.
"Ah, Midoriya-kun," she replied, adjusting her posture with a polite nod. "I had no idea you'd be here either. I... wanted to work on my Creation Quirk away from the bustle." She tapped the notebook in her arms. "And with the exam next week, I – well, I could use the extra practice despite that."
He nodded enthusiastically, recalling their brief conversation from the orientation.
"Me too! Omni-Potent is so versatile it's kind of overwhelming," he admitted with a grin. "Sometimes I need a quiet space to juggle all the aspects. Are you, um, focusing on synergy drills for group or personal forms?"
Momo's gaze flickered with self-consciousness.
"I've been trying to refine my object creation in simulated group scenarios, but... I'm uncertain how well I can adapt under pressure. My tutors at home emphasized the fundamentals, but real hero work requires fluid teamwork."
Izuku's eyes lit with empathy.
"I get that. Quirk synergy can be tricky – especially with a creation-type power like yours. But from what I remember, your quirk is super impressive. I doubt you have anything to worry about."
His straightforward assurance – spoken with such sincere conviction – caused a flutter in Momo's chest. She recalled how he'd explained Omni-Potent's complexity to her weeks ago, but not once had he boasted or flaunted it. Instead, he'd admitted he still had plenty to learn. This humility, paired with fierce determination, had already set him apart in her mind. She drew a small breath, bracing herself.
"Then... would you be willing to train with me for a bit? Since we're both here anyway. I think it'd help test how well I can keep up with someone's broader quirk usage."
A flash of delight crossed his face, and he nodded energetically.
"Of course! That's a great idea." He took a step back, scanning the layout. "We can do a short round where I switch aspects, like Mover or Blaster, and you try conjuring counters or supportive tools. Sound good?"
Momo felt her lips tug into a genuine smile.
"Yes, definitely. Please – give me honest feedback if you see me making mistakes."
He shot her a thumbs-up, already opening an analysis in his mind.
"Sure thing."
They ran through mock scenarios for the next half hour. Whenever Momo flubbed an object's proportions or hesitated, Izuku gently offered suggestions – like an ideal shield shape for deflecting a speed-based attack, or a grappling device to corral an evasive target. He marveled at how quickly she produced complicated structures, while she was taken aback by how seamlessly he flipped from a Thinker aspect (analyzing her approach) to a Blaster or Striker aspect (pressing an attack).
During a lull, they both stood panting, sweat glistening. Momo's heart thrummed with an excitement she hadn't felt in her more formal training environment. He didn't talk down to her or treat her like a porcelain doll. He recognized her potential and pushed her just enough out of her comfort zone. Each time she faltered, he was there with a supportive grin or a thoughtful tip.
She realized, with a pang of unexpected emotion, that not once had someone so wholeheartedly acknowledged her struggle with group synergy or her desire to adapt in real-time. Izuku's unwavering positivity – his readiness to praise her successes – gnawed at her usual façade of calm confidence in a strangely uplifting way.
At one point, Momo conjured a large wall to block a glimmering Blaster shot. The recoil threatened to knock her off-balance, but Izuku rushed in, arms bracing her shoulders.
"Careful!" he exclaimed, greenish aura flickering out. "That was a big piece to create in such short time. Maybe try a smaller barrier next time, more maneuverable."
Her breath caught, from both exertion and the jolt of closeness.
"R-right, thank you... Midoriya-kun," she stammered. He let go, offering a grin.
"Don't mention it. You're doing great – just fine-tune the dimensions. If you see me about to use my Brute aspect, you'll know I'm going for a heavier hit. A slender but dense barrier might be enough."
She nodded, an unexpected warmth in her chest. He's paying that much attention to me...? The thought caused her face to flush.
"Yes. I appreciate your guidance."
By the session's end, they both knelt on the foam mats, catching their breath. Momo felt a sense of accomplishment overshadowing her earlier anxieties, as if the dread for the upcoming exam had receded. She clutched her notebook, fervently jotting notes from this impromptu session.
Izuku glimpsed her scribbling, then smiled.
"I bet you would've excelled at the Entrance Exam if they let you participate," he said earnestly. "With your creation powers plus that meticulous mind, you've got everything it takes to be a top hero."
A flicker of shock and quiet elation lit her eyes. He truly believes in me, she thought. Despite knowing about her wealthy background and formal tutors, he hadn't once implied she was a pampered heiress. He treated her like an equal – someone who could stand shoulder to shoulder with him.
She returned his smile, heart thudding in her chest.
"Thank you... That means a lot. I hope you pass so we get to train together at U.A."
His response was an unhesitating nod, radiant with sincerity.
"Absolutely. Let's do our best, Yaoyorozu-san."
Something about the conviction in his voice and the gentleness of his eyes lodged into Momo's mind like a key unlocking her deeper emotions. She had known academically that he was a Quirk prodigy, that he was kind and earnest, but now she felt it in her bones – he saw her. The pressure of family expectations, the fear of letting others down... in his presence, they felt surmountable. A new spark of warmth ignited in her heart, a bud of affection that would only grow more prominent in the coming days.
They parted ways that evening with mutual smiles and a promise to meet after the Heroics Entrance Exam. Momo left the facility feeling lighter than she had in months, all because of a boy who readily shared his training field, offered unwavering support, and never once doubted her potential. It was on that walk home that she recognized a stirring deep within – a fondness for Izuku Midoriya that transcended mere admiration. In the quiet hum of her family's driver en route to the penthouse, she gazed out the car window, letting her mind replay the encounter, an unspoken vow forming:
'I'll prove myself worthy... and when he passes, I'll stand by his side, no matter what.'
A hush of reverence settles among the group, each enthralled by Momo's recollection.
Ochako perks up at the mention of the entrance exam.
"I guess that's my story, too. Izuku – er, I call him 'Nijiku' – totally helped me. He saved me from that giant Daikaiju robot. My ankle was injured from the debris, but he used the Striker aspect of Omni-Potent to heal it. Like, who else would do that for a random girl in the middle of the test?" A bright grin spread over her face. "He was so supportive, cheering me on, making sure I felt safe. And I started calling him Nijiku because his Omni-Potent is so colorful, like a rainbow. 'Niji' means rainbow, and 'ku' for... well, Izu-ku. Nijiku." She blushes at her own playful creativity.
"That's sweet," Mina cooed, clapping softly. "And so typical of him to help like that."
Ochako nodded firmly.
"Yup. I fell for him right then and there. He's so genuine, you know?"
Mina straightened her posture, leaning forward.
"Me next! The day of the Quirk Apprehension Test, I was looking excited to doing the tests after watching Midori-kun did his ball toss. Until Aizawa-sensei singled me and everyone else out, scolding and criticizing me for not taking the heroism seriously. But Midori-kun stepped up and argued for me, told Eraserhead that everyone deserved a chance to have fun and relax in their hero careers. That moment... wow. He basically confronted a teacher to defend his classmate."
She huffed, fighting an emotional grin.
"I just – no one had done something that selfless for me in that kind of setting before. All my life, people assumed I'd be fine or teased me. But he was different. That's when I realized he's not only kind but fearless in standing up for others."
Setsuna cracked a grin, flipping a piece of her parted body gently in the air before reattaching it.
"You all have these heroic rescue or childhood angles, but me? When I found out he's super into Tokusatsu Kaiju flicks. The same stuff I grew up watching every Saturday – Godzilla movie marathons, Ultra Series shows, you name it. Then I discovered how bold and intelligent he is, and it was like I was seeing my dream hero come to life." She shrugged, smile turning bashful. "I like a guy who can talk about monster designs while also analyzing them for potential quirk synergy. And the fact he's very strong, unstoppable, yet sweet? That sealed the deal."
Momo couldn't help but laugh softly at the mental image of Izuku and Setsuna gushing over monster suits.
"It's perfect, truly."
Camie crossed one leg over the other, twirling a strand of hair around her finger.
"I guess my story's not, like, super deep, but I first noticed him at the Quirk Apprehension Test. He legit smoked me at the 50-meter dash with that quirk of his. It was so dope to watch, like, he was unstoppable! I was all, 'Damn, that's hot.' And then, when I tried talking to him after, he was so polite and sweet. A real cutie behind the big power." She tossed the bubble gum from one cheek to another and laughs. "I can't help but dig him – he's lit, that's all."
Their group erupted in a brief chorus of amusement, each reason distinct but all pointing to the same conclusion: Izuku had won their hearts in different ways.
Then, a collective silence descended, heavy with realization: six girls, each genuinely in love or at least enthralled by the same boy. Itsuka exhaled slowly, finally voicing the thought on everyone's mind.
"This is complicated, but... polygamy is legal in this age, and none of us want to sabotage each other's friendships. So maybe... we approach him together, see if he's open to that arrangement?"
Momo's eyes flicked between her friends, cheeks bright.
"I'd never considered polyamory, but if it means none of us gets hurt – and if Izuku-kun himself is okay with it – then... I'm willing to give it a chance."
Ochako bounced lightly on the balls of her feet.
"I'd do anything not to lose your friendship. Besides, Nijiku would never want us to fight over him. This might be the best solution."
Mina whooped, throwing a playful punch in the air.
"We're the S-Class Heroics girls, after all. If we can survive labyrinth horrors, we can figure out how to share a partner, right?"
Setsuna shrugged in agreement, a mischievous edge to her grin.
"I'm game, if Green is. We'll break the news after the Super Sports Festival, maybe, so it doesn't rattle him mid-competition."
Camie flashed a wide, confident smile.
"Totes. Let's finalize it post-fest. We want him to shine without extra drama. But once it's over, we drop the big confession."
High above the gleaming lights of Tokyo, Omocha Sofubi, the current CEO of Bandai Co., Ltd., leaned back in his plush, leather chair. The top-floor office room was quiet except for the subtle hum of the ventilation system. Moonlight and neon city glow filtered through the expansive windows, bathing the corporate space in a subdued hush of midnight blues and flickering neon reflections.
Omocha ended his phone call with a short goodbye, setting the receiver down gently on the polished mahogany desk. He paused, listening to the final electronic beep as the call disconnected, then let out a soft chuckle. Standing, he strolled toward the floor-to-ceiling windows, hands clasped behind his back. Far below, the bustling sprawl of Taitō shimmered – streets lit by headlamps, storefront signs pulsing in rainbow colors.
"This is going to be quite the spectacle, I can already see it," he mused under his breath, a pleased smile curving his lips. "Izuku Midoriya... that boy has such a knack for stoking people's imaginations. A perfect blend of heroism and childhood wonder, if his Quirk is anything to go by. I also hear he admires All Might too."
His eyes drifted across Tokyo's skyline, recalling the impact Izuku had on his company's product lines. It wasn't just about sales; it was about inspiration. First there was that pterosaur monster incident at a summer festival when the kid and his friend were just four – enormous press coverage and excitement for new kaiju-themed merchandise. Then, thirteen years later, Izuku teamed up with that same friend to subdue that sludge-like villain, igniting another wave of toy mania.
"Midoriya and Bakugo, both unstoppable from a young age," Omocha murmured. "But Midoriya... that boy's love for Toku heroes and kaiju truly resonates with the fans. He fights as if he's channeling every giant monster and courageous hero out there. Remarkable."
Stepping back to his desk, Omocha straightened the row of Bandai collectibles carefully arranged along the edge – figurines of assorted tokusatsu monsters, robots, and colorful heroes. He smiled at the array, each piece representing a thriving part of the entertainment empire he guided. The longer he observed the intricately molded plastic forms, the clearer his conviction: Izuku Midoriya was a living embodiment of that Toku spirit – something the fandom yearned to see flourish.
He remembered the final words from the phone call: an employee verifying that Inko Midoriya – Izuku's mother – alongside her son would receive a formal invitation to Bandai's upcoming post–Super Sports Festival event. They wanted their presence confirmed, hoping to connect with Izuku more directly afterward. Omocha ran a finger over the nearest hero figurine of Ultraman, a nostalgic sense of childlike excitement welling in his chest.
"His mother will receive that letter soon," he said, smiling to himself. "I imagine it'll take her by surprise, but we must show her how proud we are of that boy – of everything he's done to invigorate the Toku genre and capture hearts nationwide."
Behind him, the night's endless glow cast a surreal reflection, merging the glimmer of toy figurines on the desk with the vibrant cityscape. Omocha Sofubi exhaled contentedly.
"I can't wait to see him in action, to witness just how far he's come in the U.A. Super Sports Festival. When the dust settles, I'll be waiting with open arms to welcome him – this generation's Toku-inspired hero."
He glanced at the phone once more, satisfied that the arrangements were underway. Turning back to the window, Omocha surveyed Tokyo's radiant silhouette, fully convinced that the dawn would bring with it not only new waves of success for Bandai, but a bright path for Izuku Midoriya – whose passion for monster battles and heroic transformations had already captured the nation's imagination.
A soft chuckle escaped his lips as he placed one more call – quiet instructions for an assistant to expedite certain Toku-themed prototypes. After all, if Izuku's performance was anywhere near what rumors suggested, Omocha wanted to be ready for the next explosive wave of Toku mania that would no doubt follow in the boy's wake.

Milarqui your thoughts?
Milarqui: I hope you guys are glad that I got my hands in this chapter before you read it.
So info on Calamity, the new OC Big Bad of the story, replacing Tomura Shigaraki. I will give more info of the other villains Hunter, Fiend, and Brute, Calamity's associates, that replace Dabi, Himiko, and Spinner respectively in this story as well when they officially debut in the story. Calamity's real name will be revealed as we go deep into the story.
- She is 5'11 (Tall I know) (For those of you who use rational measurement systems, 1'80 m – about 20 cm higher than the average Japanese man)
- Her Meta-origin quirk is called "Endbringers" lets her use aspects/traits that each have a specialized power set and is themed after religious symbols of power and conceptual forces letting her cause as much destruction to the world in different ways (actually, it's the creatures of the same name from Worm). Calamity can also regenerate any damage that she takes.
- Behemoth: Super strength and durability, attack deflection/reflection, terrakinesis.
- Ziz: Super intelligence and senses, wings/flight with monomolecular-thin feathers, mental abilities.
- Leviathan: Super speed and agility, underwater breathing, hydrokinesis.
- Specialized in teamwork skills.
- Calamity's Voice Actress would be Chiaki Takahashi (Japanese) and Erin Fitzgerald (English).
There is an original new classification added to Quirks called Origin. I forgot to add this long ago and after remembering it I implemented this in the previous chapters that require it, but I will expand on this later on in the future chapters.
- Meta: Abilities beyond human limits arise from biological or genetic factors.
- Tech: Powers revolve around mechanical or digital functions that interact with or generate gadget-like phenomena.
- Magic: Quirks that operate like arcane or mystical, thus considered "supernatural".
I'm more open to guest reviews. Fair criticism is still my main motivation to keep on improving. Please fave, follow, or both, if this story is to your liking.
Look I'm going be really honest here with you guys, I know this remake story probably won't get as many views, follows, or faves as the original story but I really never regretted writing this and sticking with this original creative risk take of My Hero Academia. My hope is that this story could at least reach 2k by the end of this story. I really appreciate you all for giving this remake story a shot.
That's all for now folks and thanks for reading everybody, we will see you all in the next chapter that begins the Super Sports Festival, buh bye!
