Chapter 11

Forbidden Love

Back on Naboo as the setting sun touches the lake making rose-tinted light glistens through the sky, Anakin and Padme were having a meal together and discussing how their lives have been so far while Bumblebee was laying low in his vehicle mode,and Wheelie was playing cards with R2.

"And when I got to them, we went into...aggressive negotiations." Said Anakin as he thanked one of the maidens bringing the food.

"Aggressive negotiations, what's that" asked Padme?

"Uh well, Negotiations with a lightsaber" said Anakin.

"Oh" said Padme laughing.

As Padme was about to stick her fork into the fruit on her plate it suddenly levitated and came to Anakin as he was holding his hand out and using his force powers to bring the fruit to his plate and cut into it.

"If master Obi-Wan caught me doing this, he'd be very grumpy" said Anakin as he pushed the cut piece of fruit over to Padme with the force. As she stuck her fork into the fruit and ate it Anakin and Padme both smiled at each other as innocent as children.

"Okay it's been ten minutes, are you gonna play something or what" asked Wheelie annoyed!?

R2 laid his cards down to reveal a royal flush.

"Can you believe this! I'm losing to a friggin' trash can on wheels"said Wheelie.

Later that night by the fireplace Anakin and Padme were sitting on the couch in an awkward silence until Anakin finally spoke up and said "From the moment I met you, all those years ago, not a day has gone by that I haven't thought about you. And now that I'm with you again, I'm in agony. The closer I get to you, the worse it gets. The thought of not being with you, I can't breathe. I'm haunted by the kiss that you should never have given me. My heart is beating hoping that kiss will not become a scar. You are in my very soul tormenting me. What can I do? I will do anything that you ask...If you're suffering as much as I am, please tell me."

"I can't, we can't, it's just not possible" said Padme

Anakin replied" Anything is possible Padme listen to me..."

"No you listen. We live in a real world come back to it. You're studying to become a Jedi I'm a senator. If you follow your thoughts through to conclusion, it'll take us to a place we cannot go...regardless of the way we feel about each other" said Padme.

"Then you do feel something" said Anakin!

"I will not let you give up your future for me" said Padme.

"You're asking me to be rational. That is something I know I cannot do. Believe me, I wish that I could just wish away my feelings... but I can't" said Anakin.

"I will not give into this"said Padme.

"Well you know it wouldn't have to be that way. We could keep it a secret" said Anakin.

"We'd be living a lie. One we couldn't keep even if we wanted to. I couldn't do that. Could you Anakin, could you live like that" Padme asked?

"No, you're right it would destroy us" said Anakin.

After Padme and Anakin had left, Wheelie had emerged from the kitchen to finally get back at R2 for beating him at card's earlier.

"Sheesh I thought they'd never leave. The kid spilled his guts so much I think I'm gonna blow chunks. Now where'd that stinkin' Astro droid run off to. He owes me a rematch Wheelie said."
