"Alcide, I need to go make a point to Jason Stackhouse. I want you and Trey to come with me." Eric said as he looked at the loan ledgers that Pam was having issues collecting on. The Stackhouses were gambling addicts, and generally both father and son were shit at repaying their loans. Eric knew it wasn't just him the Swedish Mafia they owed money too. They just owed the most to him. They also owed DeCastro and the Cubans, Appias and the Italians, plus to a lesser degree Edgeington and his British street thugs out in Mississippi. Eric was sure they probably owed Money to the hillbilly drug pushers in hotshot too, but they weren't on Erics level so not his problem.
"You got it, Boss. Car will be ready in 15." Alcide said, and walked out.
Eric put on his suit jacket to complete his all black look. He wanted to look menacing tonight. Jason had been a pain in his ass for months and he needed to take a drastic measure to get his money back. He walked out casually, texting Pam that he will be handling the Stackhouses from now on personally. He climbed in the back of the black SUV, driving in silence the 45 minutes to Bon Temps to go pay Jason a visit at home. He texted a few people, and answered an email from his father on the way. They pulled up to the dilapidated single story shack set back along the tree line of the woods well off the main roads. Good Eric thought as he got out and led the way up to the front door with the two other hulking men also wearing high end suits, just with white shirts. No one would hear his screams, or come to his aid.
Eric put his finger to his lips, and pointed at Trey, moving out of the way. Trey understood the unspoken instruction, and kicked the door in. The frame completely splintering. Eric casually walked in stepping over the door. A bottle blonde, that was about 20 pounds too skinny, who was obviously on something was standing topless screaming next to Jason who was scrambling to grab a shot gun. Alcide drew his gun, and shot in front of Jason making him stop in his tracks and raise his hands.
"Now Jason…. Why aren't you returning Pam's calls?" Eric asked menacingly.
"I just don't have it yet. I'm gonna, I just need more time." He pleaded, almost whining standing in just his boxers that had pictures of hot Cheetos on them.
"Times up, Jason. You and your father need to pay up." Eric said stalking towards him and reaching in his pocket.
"I don't have it, we don't have it." Jason panicked. "We need two more weeks." He begged.
"I cant do that, Jason. First, you insulted my sister by ignoring her. I just cant allow that to pass. What kind of a brother would that make me if I let someone insult my little sister?" Eric asked as he reached Jason, and grabbed his right hand, twisting it making him howl. The girl started screaming again. Alcide slid over to her, and covered her mouth with his hand. Eric shooting him an approving nod.
"I… I don't know. Is ignoring a call or two insulting her?" Jason asked with a shaky voice.
"Yes, it absolutely is." Eric growled and lifted his hand, pulling up the cigar cutter he had pulled out of his pocket. Sliding it over the middle finger on Jasons right hand, holding his flailing body against the wall trapping him. Without hesitation he cut off Jasons finger, making Jason scream in terror. Eric shoved him away from him and picked up the finger and pointed it at Jason who was cowering on the floor holding his bleeding hand.
"You will never insult my sister again, that was your punishment for the offense against her. Now you have 48 hours to get me my money. Be at my office in the bar at 8pm day after tomorrow. If you don't show I'm coming back for the rest of the hand. If you run, I will find you and take both hands. Bring your father too, if he doesn't come ill take his right hand and both of your feet also. Am I clear?" Eric asked with venom in his voice.
"Yuh… uhhhh…. Yes sir." Jason sputtered his entire body now shaking on the ground.
"Perfect, I'm glad we have come to an understanding." Eric said adjusting his suit and walking out of the house. He tossed the finger out into the woods, and wiped the blood off of his hands using a handkerchief from his pocket. Alcide and Trey close behind him. They all got back in the car and Trey turned to the back seat and looked at Eric before saying.
"The middle finger, Eric? Really? Thats the best finger." Mirth in his voice. A wide smile came over Erics face and he said.
"I mean, it's Pam. He's lucky I didn't take his whole hand, and settled for just his business finger." Eric chuckled. He wasn't known for being patient or tolerant in general, but crossing his baby sister was something he would never tolerate. She wasn't just his sister, she was also his best friend and probably the only woman he truly trusted.
"Thats true. Pam is serious business." Trey said with a smile. He liked Pam, hell he was in love with Pam.
"And if you break her heart, Trey. I will kill you and everyone you love." Eric said, his smile dropping and his tone going icy. Trey was his friend, and his number one…. He wasn't going to let him toy with his sister though. It was hard enough for him to accept they were together.
"I would never, Eric. She's the best thing to ever happen to me." Trey said sincerely. Eric smiled again and nodded.
"Alcide, you still in the pound with Debbie?" Trey asked Alcide as he drove changing the subject. Eric looked over at Alcide with a smirk. Alcides eyes never left the road, he just groaned.
"I tried to cut her loose for good, but somehow she ended up sucking my dick. She hasn't left my apartment in three days." Eric and Trey both started laughing.
"This is why you don't date girls from the club." Eric hissed laughing.
"You fuck girls you meet at the club all the time!" Alcide yelled defensively.
"Fuck, yes…. I don't date them, and I definitely don't bring them to my home." Eric snickered.
The rest of the drive home they spent chit chatting about business. Alcide and his father were going to manage some assets out in Mississippi for Eric. Hoping to put some space between him, and the crazy Alcide had brought into his bed.
Two days later Eric was in his office with Pam waiting for the Stackhouses.
"Eric, you need to decorate in here. Your couch has duct tape on it, and your desk looks like it used to belong to a gym teacher." Pam complained as she looked around his ramshackle office.
"Its the ambiance I want. This way no one ever gets too comfortable in here. Even if they aren't in trouble people hurry out, and leave me alone." Eric explained.
"Well, I know I cant get out of here fast enough." Pam said rolling her eyes.
"See, it works." Eric said with a smile.
Moments later Trey knocked on the door. Pam went and stood behind Eric on his right. Eric told Trey to enter.
"Mr. Northman, your 8 o'clock is here." Trey said formally, ushering Eric's guests in, and went and stood behind Eric to his left. widening his stance and clasping his hands in front of him looking menacing.
Eric looked at Jason and Corbitt Stackhouse with disgust. They also brought a girl with them, she was looking down, but he could tell she was around his age, and had a nice build. Her long blonde hair was the same shade as his own. He was curious why they brought her, but he was more concerned about getting his money.
"Did you bring my money?" Eric asked clasping his hands on his desk.
"We have 100k." Corbitt said shakily, Jason was absently rubbing his bandaged hand.
"Thats 20% of what you owe me." Eric said leaning back, lounging in his chair a bit, clasping his hands across his chest, rising and eyebrow.
"I'm also offering you my daughter in exchange for a reduction, and extension." Corbitt said grabbing the girl, shoving her forward. Eric could see she was crying softly, and frankly he was disgusted.
"You are offering to pay part of your debt with your daughter?" Eric asked questioningly, sitting up and craning his face trying to get a better look at the girl who was still looking down.
"Yeah, she can cook, and clean. She's never had a boyfriend so she's basically brand new, shapely…." Corbitt said pulling the crying girls arms away from her body while she cried louder, trying to clutch to herself.
"Stop." Pam barked at Corbitt who immediately released the girl. "Eric, if we don't take her they will trade her to DeCastro or Appius next. They clearly don't give a shit about her. She's scared, this isn't her fault. Dad won't like it, but tell him I made you. Blame my feminine sensibilities." Pam said in Swedish.
"I don't want word getting around I'm accepting women as payment." Eric replied in Swedish.
"I'll take care of it, make sure they never talk about it after they leave." Trey said in Swedish, looking at Pam who was pleading to him with her eyes to help her save this girl. Pam knew how women were treated in this world. She had leverage, her Dad, brother, and now boyfriend. Sookie had no protection.
"Fine, but if a breath of this gets out it's your ass." Eric said in Swedish to Trey menacingly. Trey just nodded, he'd beat the men within an inch of their lives after they left to make sure they never spoke of this to anyone.
"No reduction, and I give you a one year extension in exchange for the girl." Eric said, the poor girl they brought started sobbing harder.
"Thank you Mr. Northman, thank you so much." Corbitt said.
"Trey, escort them out." Eric said dismissing them. As soon as the door shut, Eric stood and walked around his desk to take in the tiny blonde who was wearing a yellow halter top sun dress.
"What is your name, Alskling?" He asked.
"Sookie, Sir." She whispered out shaking.
"Calm down, I wont hurt you. I just couldn't reject you. Your father and brother owe a lot of money to worse people. I wont lay a finger on you, unless you want it." He said with a leer. Sookies head snapped up and she scowled at him. He took in her face for the first time, and she was beautiful. Big blue eyes, pouty lips and a lovely face with high cheek bones. Reminding him of a young Reese Witherspoon.
"No thank you." Sookie said harshly.
"Very well." Eric said, turning to Pam who had a huge grin on her face. "Pam take her to the house, and find her a suitable suite for her to live in. Help her get some clothing to her tastes, and a vehicle. She will be your… ummm I guess assistant?" Eric said waving his hands a little and then looked back at Sookie.
"What did you do before your bastard father sold you to the Swedish mafia?" Eric asked.
"Theres a Swedish mafia?" Sookie asked looking up confused.
"Sure is, and I run it." Eric Said with a mischievous grin.
"I thought Swedish people didn't do crime." Sookie said.
"What did you think Swedish people were like?" Eric asked quirking an eyebrow.
"I guess the muppets colored my expectations… bork bork." Sookie said, but then looked up and cringed, but Eric threw his head back and laughed. Pam leaned forward and cackled.
"Bork bork….." Eric laughed under his breath. "Really though, what did you do before? Whats your education level?" Eric asked pulling himself together.
"I was a waitress…. I dropped out of high school. My Dad needed me to start working full time to pay bills." Sookie said with shame in her voice.
"Well, you aren't working in the club." Eric snorted. "Pam will take care of you. She collects payments we are owed, and seizes collateral on leveraged loans. She also arranges our underground poker tournaments. You will help her. If you want a GED or to go to college she will help you arrange that too. I'm not going to hold you hostage, you can come, and go as you please. I would just request you stay with us for the next year until your families debt is paid. Let it be established you are mine, and under my protection. Your father and brother are in deep with a lot of people. If you weren't given away, someone was going to come take you."
"You cut off Jasons finger." Sookie said looking up at him.
"I did, he insulted my sister." Eric said, and Sookie just nodded.
"And thats how you do things? What are other people going to do to me if I don't stay?" Sookie asked indignantly.
"Rape you, pass you around, dope you up to make you more pliable to rape, and pass around." Eric said and Sookie gasped. "Thats not how I run things. Thats not how my father did either. We don't take women against their will, we don't run brothels. Even in our clubs and the bar we make sure the girls are there willingly, and we don't allow harm to come to them."
"One year?" Sookie asked.
"One year, Pam will make sure you get a proper job with her. You'll get paid, and you will be seen with both of us enough in public for everyone to know you are mine, and not to be bothered." Eric said, uncrossing his arms, leaning on his desk.
"I'm going to be yours…."Sookie said with a sour tone.
"Just like Pam is mine. People know not to touch what is mine." Eric said with a shrug.
"And if someone touches me?" Sookie asked.
"I'll kill them." Eric said plainly.
"Christ, Mr. Northman…. At least take a finger first. Shit." Sookie hissed.
"Eric." He corrected.
"What?" Sookie asked confused.
"Eric, you can just call me Eric." He said, she nodded. "And yes, I will kill them. I can't appear weak with what is mine."
"Okay, one year… I don't like the sound of the alternative." Sookie breathed out.
"Perfect, Pam take her to the house. I'll be home later after I get some things arranged. Make sure Sookie has everything she needs to be comfortable." Eric said, pulling out his wallet, and handing Pam his credit card.
"And a few thing for me too?" Pam asked with a smile trying to look adorable.
"God you're greedy! Fine you spoiled girl. Go now." Eric said shaking his head with a smile. Pam grabbed Sookies hand, and skipped out of the office with her.
"Come we need to get you settled." Pam said in a sing song voice as she dragged Sookie to her Audi. Sookie got in and stayed quiet for a bit until she noticed Pam kept looking over at her.
"Pam, why did you tell Eric to take me? I assume thats what you were saying when you were talking to Eric while my Dad was selling me." Sookie said chancing a look over at Pam.
"Sookie, you were being SOLD. I know you know that, but I don't think its really set in for you yet that your family was selling you to the Swedish Mafia. They are gambling addicts, which are some of our best customers, but they had no issues selling their daughter, and sister to a man who just cut off your brothers finger. Your father was describing you as having never had a boyfriend, and supple as if to incentivize Eric to take you like he was getting a sexual prize. This world we live in…. My world, and now your world is not kind to women. Occasionally, a woman crops up as an organized crime boss, but it's almost unheard of. We are treated like shit. It's why Eric has a zero tolerance policy on people who insult me. If he doesn't, they will hurt me. Fearing him keeps me safe, and will in turn keep you safe. I couldn't just let you go back with them. They owe a quarter million to Felipe DeCastro. I know that might not mean anything to you, but he isn't just a loan shark and money launderer, it's not just moving drugs and Guns,… Sookie he traffics women and turns them out. I was scared for you. None of this is your fault. We didn't even know you existed until they brought you with them. You weren't even allowed to finish your high school education, because they were using you for labor. I imagine they took no issues with slapping you around a bit too." Pam said with disgust in her voice. She wasn't unfamiliar with the concept of trafficking and slavery, but this was her first time seeing it first hand.
"No… ummm when I was younger I would sometimes have to miss school until the bruises healed. It's just crazy because day before yesterday Eric was cutting off my brothers finger, and tonight he's like 'oh here's a job and we'll get you a proper education before we set you free in a year with skills, and money, as well as my protection.' I just don't get it." Sookie said sounding distressed as Pam pulled into a target, motioning to Sookie to follow her.
"Because Eric is fair. You didn't do anything to him, and you don't deserve to be whored out because your Dad, and brother are trash." Pam said grabbing a cart and heading to the clothing section with Sookie.
"I know the world isn't black and white. I'm just absorbing my new reality." Sookie said with a sigh.
"Well, your new reality is probably going to be the best life you have ever had. Eric has a way about him that inspires loyalty. I doubt in a year you will even want to leave. I don't even want to move out of Eric's house because he takes such good care of me." Pam said enthusiastically. "We need a few weeks worth of things for you. I'll order you what you will need for work. We can shop online together. This will just set you up for right now. Grab whatever you want, it's on Eric." She cackled as she tossed a bikini into the cart for herself.
"I bet Eric's girlfriend, or wife loves living like that." Sookie said wistfully. Eric was a fine looking man, being scared of him, his finger cutting, slightly murderous inclinations aside, she could admit that. Not like her father or brother were good people by any stretch. Her father had beaten her mother to death when she was 5, and they both seemed to take pleasure in cruelty. Eric at least had a sort of code he seemed to use to direct his cruelty.
"Eric can't date like a normal person. He cant exactly tell women he meets who he is, and one sour note in a relationship could send a woman running to the feds. Occasionally, he'll pick up a woman for sex, but I don't think he has been on a 'date' since he was in high school." Pam said using air quotes when she said the word date.
"Wow, that has to suck for him. How did your Dad get married and have kids?" Sookie asked and grabbed a few dresses, and skirts off the racks.
"Our Dad married the daughter of the German Kingpin of New Orleans. Queen Sophie Ann is what they used to call her. Her father was in poor health, and arranged the marriage. Our father Godric took over his territory, and business. It protected his daughter, and himself when he was too weak to continue. Our father, and my Grandfather had already had a decent working relationship before He married my mother. There was a great deal of respect. Eric, and I grew up in a happy home. My parents marriage may have started as business, but they did learn to love one another. I know my father for sure was, and still is in love with my mother." Pam explained.
"What happened to your Mom?" Sookie asked, Pam turned and looked at her sadly.
"There was a disagreement between My father, and the Irish. She was killed by Brendan Brignat in a hit. They shot her when she was walking out of a Pilates class, then threw her body in a river. It was a message to my father." Pam said, her tone was angry. Her voice cracked.
"What happened to them… Brendan, and the Irish?" Sookie whispered.
"Eric laid waste to them. He was 20, and I was 15 when it happened. The Irish now hold no territory or business south of the mason Dixon line. Eric earned his position by bringing Brendon back to our father alive for him to deal with." Pam said with pride.
"What does your father do now?" Sookie asked, grabbing more things as they wandered.
"He runs our legitimate business dealings we use as fronts. Eric of course runs the bar, and club, as his fronts… but our father runs Northman pharmaceutical and medical supply as well as Northman investments. Sometimes he comes around to annoy Eric. We are going to have to explain our acquisition of you to him eventually. I'm his baby girl, he can't say no to me so I'm going to lay under the bus on this one. He won't be mad at me about it." Pam said as they moved to the cosmetics aisles.
"Is your Dad going to be mad about you telling me all your secrets?" Sookie asked nervously.
"We already decided not to kill you, so the best course of action is taking you in deeper with us. What are you really going to do? Go to the cops, and get sent back to your Dad? Are you really going to tattle tale on us? I think not. If you did cross us I would send you to a Mexican cartel, and make sure your remaining life was limited and miserable. Or I would personally flay you alive. We have helped you, I'm a great judge of character. Like I said, in a year I doubt you will want to leave. We'll have you being Swedish in no time." Pam said with a smile as she tossed some makeup in the cart for herself.
"Bork bork." Sookie said with an uneasy smile making pam laugh.
"I am going to enjoy having you around. Plus, no one is going to beat you!" Pam said pleasantly.
"Hooray." Sookie said with a giggle. Who would have thought her father literally selling her would be an improvement in her life.
They finished Shopping, and Pam took her to her new home. She set her up in the room next to hers. Over the next few weeks Pam showed her the ropes. Sookie found she was really happy. Pam had become a fast friend, she even listened to Sookies thoughts, and opinions on things. She was letting Sookie create a new spreadsheet that would give them nightly alerts on what to collect on and pull everything in the rears to the top and label them in red so they could make them a priority. It was streamlined and efficient. It saved them about two hours each day in planning and scheduling.
Sookie saw Eric a few times a week, mostly just turning in loans that they couldn't get people to pay on so he could deal with it, or send Trey or Alcide. Sookie figured out pretty fast that in public Eric was the cold hearted mob boss, but in private he was a goofy guy, and a bit of a shameless flirt.
Sookie had become more comfortable, and settled in her new life. She was laying in bed one night at about 1am, and decided she was hungry. Pam liked to eat like an old woman. She enjoyed a 4pm dinner. That left Sookie a bit of a nighttime snacker. She was wearing a soft tank top, and shorts. she put on a pair of slippers with pink feathers on them that Pam had gotten her, and she headed down to the kitchen.
She was in the refrigerator trying to make a decision on what to eat when Eric saw her, deciding to have a little bit of fun. He snuck up quietly behind her, leaning down to her ear, and barked.
"What are you doing?" It made Sookie jump and collapse on the ground making Eric bend over hissing with laughter. She stood up annoyed, but quickly lost her will to yell at him when she took in that he was wearing nothing but black cotton sleep pants. She had to recalibrate her mind, because all she wanted to do in that second was lick his bare chest.
"See something you like?" He asked flirtatiously, pulling her away from eyefucking him, and snapped her back to reality, making her blaze red with embarrassment.
"You're terrible." She said still looking guilty, and swatted his chest.
"I could be anything you want, Sookie." He whispered to her, leaning over and resting his arms on her shoulders.
"How do you know I'm not a Fed, trying to honey pot you?" She asked turning around in his arms. Eric smiled and stood up straight.
"Feds don't flinch. Feds also always have really spotty backgrounds that are planted. They are pretty easy to suss out. I actually have a Fed in my employ. His name is Bill Compton, you'll meet him at some point." Eric said, and stood back reaching around her to pull out the ingredients for a sandwich
"You knowingly hired a Federal agent?" Sookie asked amused.
"Yeah, keep your enemies closer and all that. I have taps, and trackers on all his stuff. I feed the feds all sorts of false information. I also get access to all the communications they have about me. It's a win win situation in my opinion." Eric said with a grin, directing her to go sit on the stool at the large island while he made them sandwiches.
"That's diabolical." Sookie said with a smile.
"Well, I'm diabolical." Eric said with a wink.
"So I have noticed." Sookie said back resting her chin in her hands and watching him.
"Are you comfortable here, getting settled okay?" Eric asked sliding the first sandwich in front of her. starting on his own.
"It's weird, being sold to the Swedish Mafia is the best thing to ever happen to me. Pam is teaching me how to drive. I had never had a cell phone before, that was interesting to learn how to use. Pam listens to me and she's letting me learn all sorts of stuff. I have never had money of my own, or get to pick things for myself. I have a really good friend in Pam. It's a very 'yay for me' situation." Sookie said cheerfully as she took a bite of her sandwich.
"What about me, Sookie? Am I your friend too?" Eric asked with a leer. Taking a bite of his own sandwich.
"Yeah, the kind of friend who is a terrible flirt." Sookie said with a giggle.
"You like me flirting with you. On occasion you flirt right back." Eric said with a triumphant grin.
"You're incorrigible." She giggled.
"Only for you." Eric said leaning forward over the counter, looking at her in the eyes. Sincerity in his voice.
"I don't know how to read you." She whispered taking another bite, looking down.
"I have never lied to you, Sookie. I may not tell you everything, and thats for your safety, but I will never lie to you. If I say it to your face, in private I mean it." Eric said forcefully. his tone reminding her of his forceful business Eric persona. Frankly it turned her on a little bit.
"Okay." She said, and finished her sandwich. Eric was staring at her the whole time quietly.
"Goodnight, Eric. Thank you for making me food." She said with a smile and a wave.
"Anytime, Sookie. Sleep sweet, dream of me." Eric said with a smile in his voice making Sookie blush again. She skittered off to her room. She would never tell anyone, but she did dream of Eric, and it was indecent, and not at all lady like.
A few weeks later Pam and Sookie were driving to the bar which was closed for the night. Eric had gathered everyone to discuss a leak that had to be disposed of recently. Pam seemed ancy as she drove them.
"Sookie, I know this is going to be your first experience in deep. You need to understand that you need to just go along with whatever happens. No matter how violent, or cruel you may think it. you need to just let it happen. Eric cant seem weak. He likes you, and he cares what you think of him. Please do not make him look weak." Pam pleaded looking at her friend.
"I understand, Pam. I need to get used to it. I already know Eric cut off my brothers finger, and his dead body count is a mile high. I know what he's capable of, but I'm also not scared of him." Sookie said with conviction.
"Good, good, good. Thats how you need to see it." Pam said relaxing a little bit more. Sookie had an unconventional upbringing, and she knew she had seen some shit, but she also knew Sookie had been a bit sheltered, as in… she was literally withheld from the real world by her father so she never fully knew how Sookie would really take things.
They pulled into the parking lot, and it was already full. She and Pam were dressed in matching Chanel wide leg pant suits. Pam's was soft pink with a cream silk top and Sookies was sage green with a cream silk top. Pam had also done their hair in matching French twists with pieces of hair framing their faces. They were both wearing heavy gold jewelry. Pam explained by them looking expensive it makes Eric look good. Sookie just shrugged and went along with it. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander and all, she figured.
They walked in and Eric was already sitting on the stage in what looked like a throne. He was lounging in the chair, absolutely dominating it. Sookie locked eyes at him, and smiled. He didn't smile back, but did raise a brow at her which made her smile wider. Pam walked her over to the the bar, making Sookie a gin and tonic. Eric motioned for Pam to come to him. she walked up to him and leaned over so he could whisper whatever it was in her ear. Pam nodded and walked back to Sookie and said.
"Can you go grab the pictures of Talbot secretly meeting with Edgington out of the safe in the basement?"
"Sure." Sookie said and stood up off the bar stool she had sat on.
"Perfect, I will be behind Eric on his left, Trey to his right. You just walk them up, and hand them to him then come back down here, and sit back at the bar until Eric is done, and dismisses everyone." Pam explained, Sookie just nodded, and accepted the instructions, going to follow through.
Sookie came back out of the basement with the red file folder, and walked it up to Eric. who took it from her, and gave her a polite nod before she turned to go return to the bar. She passed a table that had a skinny blonde man, who's face was small, almost rat like. He reached out, slapping her ass as she passed him. She gasped, and didn't really know what to do. she was stopped dead in her tacks looking at rat mans sick grinning face.
Rat faces grin didn't last long because his chair was flipped by Eric who came up fast behind her, laying the guy flat on his back with Eric crouching over him. with his large hand wrapped around the mans spindly neck squeezing.
"Tell me I did not just see you slap my girls ass. Andre." Eric growled out squeezing harder until Andre squeaked.
"I didn't know she was your girl." Andre wheezed, Eric adding a knee on Andres chest applying more of his weight.
"How do you not know she's my girl? She's with my sister, has liberties to move freely in my bar, she can come and go from presence as she pleases. Look at her, why wouldn't the most beautiful woman in the room not be mine?" Eric growled at him.
"I….. I…. I … don't know." Andre croaked.
"Now you do." Eric said in a sickly calm tone, and bounced his knee on Andres chest making Sookie flinch at the sound of bones cracking. Andre seemed to pass out from the pain. Eric pointed at a big burly middle eastern man with long curly hair, who was wearing the same black suit with a white shirt combo that Trey and Alcide wear when they are working, and said.
"Rasul, handle this. Make sure my point about not touching whats mine has been fully made." Eric stood, and gestured to Andre on the ground like he was trash. Grabbing Sookie around her waist, pulling her to him, and laid one hell of a kiss on her. She wrapped her arms around his neck, all in with two feet. completely forgetting she just watched him crush a mans sternum and ribs. Eric pulled away from her, sliding his hand down her waist to her ass, and grabbed it. before he stood up to his full height again and said.
"So it is clear, Sookie is MY girl. Andre was a warning. If someone else tries anything with her they get the Irish treatment." His tone was biting, and frankly, Sookie shouldn't have been turned on by it all, but she was. Eric took her hand and went back to his position in his chair, sitting down pulling Sookie into his lap. She rested her head on his shoulder making him smile down at her. Trey who was still behind his seat standing with Pam who hadn't moved handed the folder back to him. Eric took it with a nod, and started.
"Talbot was allowed to give up information for months while he carried on a relationship with Russel Edgeington. I want to understand how NO ONE noticed it. Alcide and Jackson figured it out within 48 hours of going with him to manage my assets in Mississippi. Many of you had regular, if not daily contact with Talbot. Please explain how they caught on immediately, but his regular contacts completely missed it." Eric barked holding up picture after picture of Talbot canoodling, and secretly meeting with Edgeington. throwing them out harshly one by one, before he lounged back, wrapping his strong arm back around Sookie again. looking pissed beyond words.
The room was silent, and Eric kept his eyes scanning around.
"Trey, who were Talbots daily contacts?" Eric asked, not turning to look at Trey, but kept staring menacingly out at the group of 60 or so men in various states of squirming.
"Rene Lineier, Bill Compton, and Catfish." Trey said, still in his wide stance with his hands clasped in front of him like he always did when Eric held meetings.
"Well, we can rule out Bill Compton. He's a fed who can barely take a breath competently. Lineier, catfish… come." Eric said, beckoning the two men to approach him.
"Catfish, what was your daily contact with Talbot?" Eric asked the older man who was missing and eye wearing an eye patch. was one of the few not wearing at least slacks and a button down. He was in camo cargo pants, and an olive t-shirt. His right arms had scars indicating he has been severely burned at some point.
"I get daily check ins from everyone outside of your crew. He calls in, I log it. Thats my job." Catfish said calmly, clearly not feeling like he had anything to worry about.
"Rene, what about you?" Eric asked, directing his attention to the younger, profusely sweating man.
"I…. I…. He said it was just sex! You know, we move the product together, but you know people date." Rene said panicked. Catfish smirked and walked away from the front. Going back to the wall he had been leaning on. Eric stood, sitting Sookie in his seat. Walking to the edge of the platform, before he said.
"I'm sorry you were ignorant enough to believe that." With that Eric pulled a gun from the back of his waistband and shot Rene in the head without hesitation, making Sookie flinch and close her eyes tightly. Pam quickly reached forward and squeezed her shoulder. Sookie took a deep breath. This was what Pam was warning her about. She knew someone was going to pay for not telling Eric he had a traitor in his ranks immediately. Sookie took a few more deep breaths before she reached up and patted Pam's hand, opening her eyes.
"Alcide, Jackson… dispose of this. Your bonus for exposing the rat has already been wired to you. Everyone else is dismissed, and let this remind you all how I handle disloyalty, even if it's rooted in stupidity." Eric said turning around holding out his hand to Sookie looking at her uneasy, internally freaking out that she would reject him after what she just saw. To his relief she extended her hand to his and let him help her up and wrap his arm around her waist, and lead her out. Pam and Trey walking close behind them as they left out the back door.
"Trey, Ride with Pam. I'm driving Sookie home." Eric said, steering Sookie to his red corvette, not waiting to hear the reply from Pam or Trey. He didn't really care, he needed to be alone with Sookie, and he needed it now before she had time to think too much about what she just saw.
Eric opened her door and Sookie got in without any resistance which he took as a good sign. He walked around to his side of the car, getting in looking over at Sookie who seemed to be looking at him expectantly.
"Sookie, I'm sorry you had to see that, but I'm not sorry I did it." Eric said honestly, holding her gaze.
"I know, you had a fox in the hen house. He knew, and said nothing. The wrong information getting out could cost you or Pam your lives. He can't just be fired, he knows too much to just be let loose. Plus, no one in that room is ever going to let shit like that slide again, and not tell you. You probably wont have to manage a situation like that again for a while. I understand, Eric. You have a job to do." She said sweetly and Eric smiled and picked up her hand and kissed it.
"I love how you don't judge any part of me. You understand… you get it." He smiled.
"You called me your girl, lightly made out with me, and grabbed my ass." She said, and he threw his head back laughing.
"I needed to make it clear you were mine. I thought trotting you out matching with Pam, looking expensive, and giving you the run of my business, and personal space would make I clear, but I needed to be more overt." He said toying with the necklaces, and earrings he had sent for her to wear.
"So it was a show for the public." Sookie said sounding a little disappointed.
"Yes and no, I'd like to make there be truth to all that." He said with a grin leaning over the center console towards her.
"Oh do you?" She said, closing her eyes, accepting his kiss, tenderly kissing him back.
"Let me take you out." He whispered against her lips.
"My purse is in Pam's car." Sookie said, looking into his eyes.
"You don't need money. I may not do it often, but I do know how to take a girl out on a date." Eric said with a laugh.
"So it's definitely a date?" She asked, giving him a playful squint.
"Sookie, can I take you out on a date?" Eric said with laughter in his voice.
"When?"
"Right now." Eric said happily, leaning back in his seat.
"Yeah, I'll go on a date with you. She grinned widely and Eric did a fist pump, and said.
"Freaking sweet."
"You're a dork." She laughed,
"Your dork." He winked, but then he got a serious face and said. "I just want to make sure you aren't in shock or something. You just saw me kill a man, but want to go on a date with me. You aren't scared, you don't feel like you cant say no?" He asked studying her face for any sign of hesitance.
"No, I want to go on a date with you. It was you, and Pam or him. I pick you guys all day. What kind of a moron in this world would just let something like that go? I was surprised, but you did what you had to do. That was work Eric. I know the home Eric." Sookie said making him lean over, and kiss her again. Then he reached for her seat belt, reverently buckled her in. sliding his hand along her cleavage a bit as he did. He kissed her one more time before buckling himself in, and pulling out to drive to the restaurant he wanted her to try.
Across the street Bill looked out the window they were having the stake out in. watching Eric in the car with Sookie but unable to hear what they were saying. He wasn't notified of the meeting that was held tonight. They only figured it out because the bar was 'closed for repairs' for the night. 3 years under cover, and he was still only getting crumbs. Relegated to head of security at the strip club Eric owns, but is almost never at. A strip club thats run so clean you wont even catch someone doing coke in the bathroom.
"Who is she?" His partner Lorena asked looking through binoculars.
"Looks like the Viking has a girlfriend." Bill said, watching Eric tenderly lean over and kiss the girl. Exchanging smiles, and laughter he hadn't seen on the Viking before.
"He fucks girls all the time." Lorena dismissed.
"Fucks in the back of the club. He never drives them in his car. He definitely isn't giggling with them and playing kissy face in the parking lot." Bill said without taking his eyes off of the happy couple.
"Looks like we finally have an in, if we can get the girl to flip maybe we can finally build a case with some actual evidence of a crime." Lorena said, a slight edge to her voice. Annoyed by how little progress Bill had made in 3 years. He had NEVER had an audience with Eric. He cant get more than a grunt out of the two muscle bound goons that follow he, and his sister around. He cant even get a single task outside of the strip club that business obviously isn't done at.
"How many fewer left then went in?" Bill asked.
"5 fewer left than went in." Lorena said.
"How do they get out of there without being seen? Is there an optical illusion? A tunnel? I don't get it. Are they just stacking bodies up in the corner? Every time someone disappears they just tell me they quit or got reassigned." Bill sighed.
"I would love to know, Bill. You'd need to gain someones trust to figure that out." Lorena said annoyed.
"I am trying Lorena! These people are very tight knit. It's hard to get on the inside." Bill whined.
"Find out who this girlfriend is and start working on her. This is our in." Lorena said and started packing up when she saw the Viking drive away.
"Okay, I need to be careful though. He's possessive, I'll need her to come to me on her own." Bill mused.
"Well, you can be quite charming. I know that first hand." Lorena said with a sultry tone, leaning back crooking her finger, beckoning him to her.
"Yes you do, my love." Bill coo'ed and wrapped his arms around her as he dipped to kiss her.
Eric was practically holding sookie, carrying her by the ass, and one leg making her do a one legged hop thing as they stumbled into the house after Eric took her out to dinner. They were groping, and making out as Eric kicked the door shut. Rasul was guarding the gate. Eric knew someone else was walking the grounds he wasn't concerned with locking the door or setting the alarm.
"sleep in my room tonight." Eric demanded in a whisper as he kissed her. Wanting to be careful not to wake Pam and have her ruin the moment.
"Just sleep?" Sookie asked before she bit his bottom lip making him growl.
"Okay, come have sex with me in my room, then stay there after, and sleep next to me." He said with a smile.
"Yeah, I can do that. I don't even know where your room is." Sookie giggled and Eric smiled.
"really?" He asked.
"Yeah, my room is right next to Pams. The living space is right next to the kitchen. I don't really have a reason to go walking around." Sookie said with a shrug.
"I figured Pam would have given you a tour at some point in the last two months. Follow me." Eric said, releasing her. taking her hand, and leading her to a hallway behind the living room, opening a door to a staircase. He walked her down the stairs, and opened the door at the Bottom with a code then flipped on the lights showing a huge basement that was basically an apartment without a kitchen. It was decorated in a very masculine way, very ikea minimalist.
"It's very Swedish in here." Sookie noted.
"well, bork bork." Eric said making her laugh. He leaned, and started kissing her again. her going up on her tip toes to try to meet him.
"Are you really sure? We don't have to do anything." Eric assured her as they walked, kissing towards the massive bed that was situated in the center of the room, covered in black bedding.
"I'm sure, Eric. I trust you. I want you." Sookie said, not braking eye contact. Eric looked down at her. Thinking about how easy it would be to fall in love with her, and what a blessing it was having her fall into his lap. Figuratively at first, and now God willing literally.
"you will be mine for real now. I'm a jealous man, Sookie I don't share." Eric said pulling back one more time to make it clear what his intentions were with her.
"Only if you're mine too. I also don't like sharing." Sookie said seriously.
"I'm all your's, Lover. Glad we sorted that out." Eric said before he threw Sookie onto the bed like she weighed nothing making her squeal, and giggle as she landed. Eric crawled up the bed to her like a predator before he was completely over her. Capturing her lips again. Ready to make her completely his.
A few weeks later Eric ran into Pam and Sookies office unannounced confusing them both a little. Sookie wasn't sure what Eric did all day long, but she knew she almost never saw him until after 6 at night. Sure he texted her during the day, sent her flowers, jewelry and other gifts, but she could only think of one other time she had seen him during the work day, and that was a preplanned thing. He had needed her and Pam to come with him to go see an accountant after 60k had gone missing. he wanted to be sure the accountant himself hadn't been the one skimming it. It had turned out to be the bartender at the strip club that was embezzling with two of the dancers help. The dancers were just fired, the bar tender didn't fare as well. Sookie thankfully didn't have to witness him managing that HR situation because she and Pam had to be across town receiving a protection payment from a local businessman who had fled DeCastros territory after being squeezed too hard.
"Eric, why are you here?" Pam asked standing up looking concerned.
"Dad's here, he knows about Sookie. He need's to apparently talk to all of us." Eric said out of breath like he had run there. Pam and Eric both looked at the door at the same time. Sookie glancing over too. She saw a man only a couple of inches shorter than Eric, who just looked like an older version of Eric, but with graying brown hair walk in.
"Eric, did you seriously run away from me as soon as the elevator started to close to beat me by using the stairs? What are you, and your sister conspiring about. This, this right here is why I took your phone when I first saw you. You two are always scheming together." Godric said playfully, waving his hand at his children who looked guilty. Sookie let out a giggle at anyone scolding Eric, or taking his phone. It had seemed like no one could make Eric do anything he didn't want to until she saw the kind of energy their father brought into the room. Eric was the Prince, Godric was the King. That much was very clear to sookie now.
"Sookie…. How nice to meet you. My children told me nothing about you." Godric said, shoving past Eric, extending his hand to Sookie which she took and gave a healthy shake back.
"Nice to meet you too. I have heard about you. I approve the payroll for the investment company." Sookie said with a smile.
"So she's above board." Eric said, quickly having moved around his father to Sookies side.
"I know how people get paid. Shut and lock the door." Godric ordered, looking over at Pam, who immediately did as he said. Godric went around Pam's desk, sitting in her chair. Eric led Sookie to come sit next to him on the couch that was across from the desk. Holding her close to him, and taking her hand in his. interlocking their fingers, and squeezing like he was scared she would be taken away. Pam walked over, pulling out the chair that was closest to her desk and sat in it.
"It's nice to see you, Daddy. I didn't know you were in town." Pam said sweetly.
"I didn't know your brother accepted a human woman as a partial payment, and is now sleeping with her. perhaps even seriously dating her to the point the FBI has created an entire file on her hoping she will be the key to getting access to Eric." Godric said as he tossed a thick envelope to Eric. Eric opened it and pulled out a stack of pictures. They were all of Sookie and Eric together. Making out in his car, on the hood of his car, his arm around her in his booth at his bar, Eric carrying her making out with her up to the door of his house, them at restaurants together, out shopping, Eric giving her a piggy back ride while they laughed, them at the movies…. On and on and on. If they weren't inside their house, or one of the offices there was a picture of it in the stack.
"These two are really good pictures of us, can I keep them?" Sookie asked while Eric dejectedly looked through the stack. He just looked up at her, and shook his head with a small laugh. Handing her the pictures she wanted, and looked back up at his father schooling his face again.
"Why Eric?" Godric asked.
"Daddy, the Stackhouses owe a lot of money to worse people. If we didn't take her they would have sold her to someone else. I made Eric do it." Pam said defending her brother, trying to take the heat off of him.
"Pam Chop, we can't set a precedent that we will take human beings as payments. She needs to…. I don't know what we can do with her at this point. Eric is sleeping with her, she's seen everything Pam does, and God knows what else she knows…" Godric trailed off. Eric clutched her hand, and went rigid.
"No…. No…. Not happening. Sookie is mine." Eric said, trying to sound confident against his father. Sookies eyes wide looking horrified.
"You can't keep a prisoner, Eric. I don't even know what to say about you sleeping with her, and dragging her around like a girlfriend." Godric sighed, shaking his head at his son.
"I'm not his prisoner. Eric didn't make me do anything. I have always had a choice…. Eric…." Sookie looked at him pleadingly her eyes filled with fear. Eric took a deep breath and stood.
"I'm not going to let you take, or hurt her. I trust her." Eric said, but Godric stood also reaching behind him, making Eric also reach back for his gun. Pam stood in horror, but Sookie was faster, grabbing Erics gun first. turning it holding the barrel to her chest. Eric's hands went up like he was surrendering. Godric placed his gun back in its holster, watching with interest.
"Sookie, give me the gun. What are you doing?" Eric pleaded with her, but not wanting to move too fast.
"No, Eric. I'm not letting you kill your father over me, and I'm not going to make him be the one to take me out of the equation. I'm a liability to you. The FBI has dozens of pictures of us. I'm sure they are following me when I'm alone too. You know they probably already long since got to my idiot father and brother. I would never flip on you and Pam, we all know that…. It doesn't mean my family isn't one big loose end, and I could accidentally slip up, or they could follow me and get to you at a… you know…. Bad time. You take me all over with you. Im there when you 'handle things' all the time. You do trust me, and you can trust me. I am too big of a liability to you. Hell, someone could kidnap me while I am just skipping around town, and get you to do just about anything they want. I'm too dangerous to you, and not because you can't trust me." Sookie said her eyes welling with tears, adjusting her grip on the gun pressing harder on her chest making Eric slowly take a step towards her.
"Sookie, no… I'll get you better protection. I'll keep you with me more of the time. Hell, I'll go take care of your dad and brother right now. Ill knot that end into a nice tidy bow…." Eric looked back at his father, and Pam who was crying, looking furious staring at her father. Turning her head away from Sookie not wanting to watch what was happening. Eric looked back at Sookie, and continued at a lower tone, his voice cracking . "Lover, I need you. I need you so fucking bad. Please don't…..I'll hide you away, and keep my distance but I cant walk a world you don't exist in anymore. Please don't do this." Eric took in another shaky breath, and inched even closer to her slowly raising his hands holding her gaze with his own. "I love you. Please." He begged.
Sookie, let out a jagged sob, and Eric quickly reached taking the gun out of her grip, removing the mag and taking the bullet out of the chamber and tossing the three pieces in opposite directions. pulling her to him. Turning them so his back was between his father and Sookie.
"I love you, I love you, I love you." Eric chanted into her hair while he rocked them as she softly cried. "I need you, you are mine. I wont give you up." He continued as he griped her to him. Pam had bent over and had her hands on her knees, breathing heavy with relief.
Godric looked around the room. Feeling his heart crack looking at how deeply his son seems to have fallen for this girl. reminding him of the depths he had loved Sophie before she was ripped away from him. He got it. Not all women were loyal, they couldn't all be trusted, but Sookie was willing to take herself out to protect Eric, and Pam.
"She needs 24/7 security. If she isn't at your side Alcide needs to be with her. No, Alcide and Jake. She never drives herself anywhere, her brother and Father deleted, her childhood home burned. We wont make the mistakes we made with your mother." Godric finally said, placing his gun back in his waist holster.
"What?" Eric asked turning slightly, but still covering Sookie with his own body.
"If you are going to take a Queen, then do it right." Godric said, and walked towards them. Pam moved quickly to take a protective stance between her father and Sookie too.
"Dad?" Eric asked confused.
"I see it, you love her. she loves you, and is so loyal she's willing to kill herself to keep you safe. Your mother was loyal like that. Take you Queen, but make sure she is protected, because she is a liability. your enemies WILL use her to try to get to you. Her protection needs to be only your most trusted. No loose ends, Eric. None." Godric said, reaching to place his hand on Eric's back who flinched a little.
"What do you want done about the feds?" Eric asked, trying to collect himself again.
"Take her to the strip club, and let Bill Compton chat with her. Then burn him." Godric said before turning to Sookie. "Sweetheart, you spin whatever bullshit you want in response to his questions. Give him a little access so he stops digging so hard." Godric said with a smile. "Someday, we'll laugh about how I tried to kill you the first time I met you." Godric said with a grin, before smoothing Sookies hair and kissing the top of her head before walking out of the office. Tossing Erics phone onto the loveseat as he passed it, closing the door behind him as he left.
Eric stared at the door for a moment before he pulled Sookie away from him and looked at her face. His own expression turning furious.
"If you ever try to kill yourself to protect me again, I will kill you myself. I protect YOU. Do you understand me?" He growled out at Sookie.
"Sorry." She said and nodded into his chest as she pushed herself to him again. "I love you too." She whispered, Eric squeezing her harder.
"Exactly, so no dying." He sighed with relief.
"Eric, how did you not know he was coming?" Pam asked, flopping back in the chair like she had just gone 3 rounds in the ring. Eric sat back on the couch, pulling Sookie into his lap.
"I have no idea. It's not like Jackson is going to tell Alcide anything if Dad wants to move in the shadows. I would love to know how he got from Nashville to shreveport moving through my entire territory without raising a single fucking heckle. I don't know if it's a testament to his skill, or a massive security failure." Eric sighed, running his free hand through his hair.
"He took the tunnel out to a random car he stashed there days before. He probably drove into the tunnel north of the club, swapped cars, then snuck into the bar through the tunnel exit by the swamp. Security never saw him. He was in and out during shift changes." Sookie suggested. Eric narrowed his eyes and quickly called his father and asked if Sookies theory was right. Godric was extremely amused Sookie knew exactly how he snuck up on Eric. Godric was going to like her he could tell.
"You were born to be a Mobster, Sookie." Pam said with a smile.
"Apparently, decades of relentless abuse really nerfed my views of right and wrong." Sookie giggled.
"I have to kill your father and Brother." Eric said hesitantly.
"Oh noooooooo." Sookie said sarcastically and started inspecting her nails making Pam snort.
"Today, it will happen today. I'm taking you and Pam home. Stay there until I come back. Tomorrow we'll give Compton some exposure to you to settle him down." Eric said standing up, collecting his gun, and motioning to them to get their stuff and follow him.
As they stepped out of the building Eric put his arm around Sookie, looking around. He spotted the federal tail that had been watching them. He slipped on his sunglasses, smiling. Crooking his finger at Pam to follow him he walked right up to the Burgundy, basic, sedan that absolutely reeked of undercover cop. He knocked on the window of the car that held the federal agent who was flailing trying to hide the surveillance equipment he was using. Reluctantly, the agent rolled down the window. Eric leaned in, giving the agent one of his award winning smiles. Eric really could be a charming mother fucker when he wanted to be.
"I see I have attracted the Federales." Eric said casually to the man squirming in the car.
"I'm sorry, Sir. Do I know you?" The federal agent said trying to play dumb.
"Of course you know me. You have been following me for months taking pictures of me, my lover, my sister. Honestly, some of the pictures were really really good. I should hire you for my wedding." Eric said with mirth. Pointing to Sookie and Pam respectively as he spoke.
"I ummmmmm…." The man sputtered. Eric chuckled and shook his head.
"Here, I just want to….." Eric took out his phone, lifting it with a smile as he took a selfie with the now terrified man. Sookie giggled. Eric leaned further into the car, his smile now wiped off his face and said.
"I will not tolerate anyone following my Lover around, who is not me. Is that clear?" Eric said menacingly.
"Crystal." The agent said. Sookie noticed he had now wet himself and pointed it out to Pam who snickered.
"Good, now go clean yourself you. Thats disgusting." Eric said pointing to the mans soiled pants and he stood up away from the car, and walked away towards his car. Pam walked to her own car that was just a few spaces over. Eric didn't get in until he saw Pam was safely in her car, and ready to follow him back to the house.
Eric made sure Sookie and Pam were in the house safe, with Rasul posted at the door before he called Trey and Alcide to come meet him at a nearby safe house. He took care to drop his Corvette, and take one of the tunnels to get one of his cars that are less conspicuous. He changed his clothes into track pants and a t-shirt. He didn't want to ruin another suit taking out garbage. He wasn't low on funds, but Armani and Tom Ford are going to start wondering whats wrong with him that he buys 30 plus suits a year.
Alcide and Trey walked in together, both also dressed casually. Clearly anticipating what they were going to go do when Eric summoned them to a safe house and not his house or office.
"Whats up, Boss?" Trey asked, taking a seat on the couch across from the chair Eric was sitting in. Alcide choosing to stand off to the side looking absolutely giddy for whatever they were going to go do.
"Sookies father and Brother need to be put down, it needs to happen today. I need it to look like a meth lab explosion so it takes the house out with it. I don't want the feds able to interview anyone with close ties to Sookie, nor search her family home if they were for some reason able to drum up a warrant on her brother or father, which frankly probably wouldn't be that hard since they are morons.
"We get to blow shit up?" Alcide Said excitedly. He knew this was going to be good.
"Blow shit up with no survivors. I want that place turned to splinters, and their bodies to be nothing more than trace remains." Eric elaborated.
"They had a propane tank off the side of the house, its close to the actual structure. The 'lab' can be planted just on the other side of the propane tank so we get a primary and then a secondary explosion. Put both bodies right up on the 'Lab' so they get the worst of it. No bullets, break some necks or something that could have happened in the blast just incase there are intact portions of their bodies." Trey suggested casually. Alcide was bouncing on the balls of his feet with excitement. He hadn't been allowed to blow anything up in years. This was basically Christmas for him.
"Perfect, let's go do it." Eric said, slapping his hands on his thighs, and standing up leading the other two out of the house, getting into a 1990's ford bronco to be even more inconspicuous as they drive through the backwoods area to get to the Stackhouse property. They weren't concerned about cops in the area. It was mostly redneck justice out there. Plus, the Sheriff Bud Dearborn was on Eric's payroll.
4 hours later they were standing out in the woods as they watched both explosions go off perfectly. It also created a decent sized fire which was even better. The three of them got back in the car and drove away, the job done.
They dropped the bronco off with Catfish to be crushed at their junk yard. Then dropped their clothes into the incinerator at the funeral home Eric owns. they changed back into suits and all drove off their separate ways. If anyone had been surveilling them it looked like all three had been inside the funeral home all day.
"Honey, Im home!" Eric called when he walked back into his house. Pam was watching trashy reality TV, and Sookie came skipping over to him with a huge smile on her face.
"Is it done? Like for sure, for sure?" She asked him with a smile as she wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Well aren't you bloodthirsty." He teased.
"I am, very. Is it done?" She asked again.
"I choked the life out of them myself. Alcide set it up to make it look like a meth lab explosion… which actually was really easy because your brother already had one in there we just had to move it closer to the exterior wall the propane tank was against." Eric said as She smiled at him.
"I told them not to install that propane tank so close to the house." Sookie said with a wide smile. Making Eric laugh.
"You were clearly the brains of that operation." Eric said and leaned down to kiss her.
"Go get ready, I'm taking you out to dinner. We'll give Compton some face time with you tomorrow." Eric said in a sort of commanding way. Sookie grinned, and kissed him again before she skipped off to her room to go get ready. Pam turned around on the couch looking back at him.
"You have to marry her, Eric. What other woman is going to go out to dinner with you knowing your day at the office was murdering her family members." Pam said in Swedish.
"I know she's the one, Pam. I also know you just want her as a sister in law because she's your best, and probably only actual friend." Eric said back in Swedish wagging his finger at her teasingly.
"That's true, I do like seeing you happy. My motivations are mostly selfish though. I don't care if you get married, I'm not moving out." Pam replied still using Swedish.
"Oh God, of course not. It's too dangerous for you to live outside of the compound. It's a big house, Pam. You're never leaving. Unless you want to go live with, Dad." Eric said in Swedish, chuckling at the last part. Pam made a gagging sound and said.
"Living with Dad is a nightmare. Him moving to Nashville when I graduated high school was the best day of my life."
"You mean you didn't like Dad waking you up every day at 5am, grilling you about everything you were doing, and digging around in your room every time you walked out of it?" Eric chuckled in Swedish.
"No, I did not." Pam said hotly in English.
"I've never been in your room. I have no idea what it even looks like." Eric said with a smile.
"And I love that. I haven't been in your room either. I don't even know how to get in it." Pam snickered.
"Sookie didn't even know where my room was. You didn't give her a tour." Eric said flopping on the couch next to her.
"I didn't even think about giving her a tour. Does she live with you now? I hardly ever hear her upstairs." Pam asked, the conversation now having switched back to English.
"I like to strongly encourage her to stay with me in my room every night. Sometimes we sleep upstairs if you are at Trey's, or out late because all of her bathroom stuff she needs to get ready for bed is up there and we're too lazy to go downstairs again when she's done." Eric explained.
"You should move her downstairs with you. I don't want to accidentally hear you two having sex." Pam said again with a gag.
"I don't think anyone wants that." Eric laughed.
"I'm ready!" Sookie called as she skipped down the stairs wearing a satin yellow strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline, and matte black pumps. Her hair held back with a black headband.
"You look like a sexy honey bee." Eric said taking her hand when she got to the end of the stairs and spinning her around so he could look at her 360.
"Thank you?" She said like it was a question.
"It is a high compliment. Looking at your ass in this makes me want to save the bees." He said making her giggle. "Okay, let's go." He smiled and waved to Pam as he walked Sookie out to his car.
The next night they were driving to the strip club. Pam and Trey driving in a black SUV in front of Eric's Corvette, and Alcide and Jake driving behind them in another identical black SUV.
"Has Pam Brought you to our strip club before?" Eric asked.
"Only during the day before it's open. Compton wasn't there then." Sookie said, Eric nodded his head and continued.
"We're going to go in, Pam will speak to our talent manager Claude Crane. Claude is actually one of my best trackers. If I want someone found, Claude is my man. The position at the club is just….." Sookie cut him off.
"A way to pay him via a taxable income. I know." She smiled and Eric winked at her.
"Anyway, Me, Trey, and Alcide are going to go in the back saying we have business to deal with. Jake is going to watch the door. I'm going to tell Compton to keep an eye on you after I sit you at the bar. I trust you to not say anything stupid, just don't be too outlandish with the lies." Eric reminded her.
"Yup, I got it. Mess with him, but don't let him know he's being messed with. I love you." She said, squeezing his hand as they pulled into the club.
"I love you too." He smiled, and kissed the back of her hand before he got out, puting on what Sookie calls his 'big boss' face and he went around to her side and opened the door for her helping her out. then putting his arm around her waist to walk them in Pam, and tray first. then Eric and Sookie, Alcide and Jake behind them. Jake stopped at the door to take his position as they walked in.
Sookie was a little taken back by the volume of the pulsing music, and flashing lights. It was all a lot to take in. There were 5 stages. One large one at the head of the room with two smaller ones on each side. Across from the bar there were several sets of velvet curtains Sookie assumed were for VIP experiences. Pam approached Claude who was shirtless in just black slacks looking like a chip-n-dales dancer. His dark black hair was slicked back. His green eyes lit up when he saw Pam. Clearly they were good friends.
"Compton!" Eric shouted summoning the federal agent to his side.
"Yes, Mr. Northman?" Compton said politely, but his tone had the slightest bite to it. Sookie couldn't help but smile at what was happening. Eric had no problem making his face look hard in public. Sookie just couldn't help it. She didn't have to look like a hard ass. To the world she was just Eric's girlfriend, and Pam's friend.
"I have business to attend to in the office. Keep an eye on my woman. She gets anything she wants, understood?" Eric said, menacingly.
"Yes Sir, Miss. would you like to move to a booth?" Compton asked her trying to use what he thought was a smooth smile. absolutely giddy at the opportunity to get face time with the Vikings girlfriend.
"No, the bar is fine, Thank you. I want a juice half pineapple, half orange." Sookie demanded, and hopped herself up onto a bar stool. Eric almost smiled watching her. She had clearly was adopting a spoiled rotten persona. He walked away as Compton ordered her drink for her. After he handed it to her he tried to start a conversation, but she cut him off and said.
"This straw isn't right. I like the tiny black straws." She said rudely.
"You mean the drink stirrers?" Compton asked.
"Nooooooooo." She said rolling her eyes. "The tiny black straws." She repeated like he was an idiot. He forced a smile, and said.
"Of course." And switched the straws for her. Sookie made a happy sound and sipped her drink.
"How long have you been with Eric?" Compton asked.
"Two years, he made me his main, and moved me in 6 months ago." She said smugly, clicking her nails on the side of her glass.
"His main?" Compton asked.
"Yeah, his primary girlfriend. I sleep in his bed, thats a privilege just for me." She said with pride like him fucking around on her would be something she would ever tolerate. She would smother him in his sleep, and he knows it. Plus, Eric valued loyalty. He never would.
"Oh, good for you." Compton said quirking his head.
"The trick was sucking his dick so good I basically sucked the soul out of him. I wake him up sucking his dick, I put him to bed sucking and fucking him, road head, office head, under the table at restaurants. He loves being sucked off. I take care of him, he takes care of me. His dick is huge, not just everyone can blow him right. I really committed to learning to relax my throat so he can fuck my mouth. " Sookie said ,enjoying Comptons shocked expression.
"Wow… and he takes care of you?" Compton asked trying to recover from his shock, and manage the hard on he got imagining the hot blonde sucking his dick.
"Yup, I get anything I want." She said with a wide smile.
"And you just follow him around while he works ready to blow him?" Compton asked and she narrowed her eyes.
"No, I never go to work with Eric. He handles business then comes and gets me. His work isn't my business, or yours." Sookie said putting her glass down and looking at him leveling him with a look.
"Of course it's not, Sookie. I wasn't assuming anything." Compton said putting on a reassuring smile.
"How did you know my name is Sookie? I didn't tell you, and neither did Eric." Sookie said scooting off the barstool and faking like she was scared.
"Oh, you mentioned it right when you sat down." Compton said gaslighting her, and standing up also.
"No, I didn't. I don't tell rando's my name. I'm Eric Northman main, that would be stupid." Sookie spat and held her hands out in a defensive posture. Compton reached out, and grabbed her arms. Sookie just looked at where his hands were touching her like he was rubbing shit on her arms.
"Sookie…" Compton started, but was cut off when Claude came up behind him, towering over him by at least 5" and yanked him off of Sookie throwing him on the ground. Comptons hold on her arms tight enough that she stumbled, and fell to one knee with a squeal.
"You don't touch the bosses woman. You sure as hell don't yank on her." Claude growled, he looked a little silly to Sookies eyes dressed like a male stripped while being so menacing. Pam helped Sookie up, but Sookie faltered, realizing she had twisted her ankle in her heel when Compton pulled her with him.
"Oh, Eric is going to be pissed." Pam said with concern when she looked at Sookies ankle which was already swelling. Even in the low lights she could tell it was bruising. She wouldn't be surprised if it was broken. Pam looked up at Compton who looked like he was completely underwater, and panicking now while he was being restrained by Claude. "You hurt her!" Pam hissed.
"Hurt who? What happened?" Eric asked taking in the scene. His bartender Felisha came and got him as soon as she saw Compton touch Sookie.
"He was yanking on her arms, and pulled her with him when Claude was pulling him off her. She twisted her ankle, its already swelling, Eric." Pam said concerned, kneeling on the ground next to where Sookie had to sit down because she couldn't put weight on her foot. Eric crouched down looking at her Ankle, growling. He reached, and removed her heel which was already getting too tight from the swelling. he was furious watching her cry out in pain when he did.
"Eric, he knew my first name." Sookie said looking up at him, making sure Compton knew his cover was blown. They had decided Compton had been around too long, and needed to go the day before. He'd get the info he could get, making Sookie look like she knows nothing. Eric wasn't expecting Sookie to get hurt in the process of getting him to blow his cover though.
"Why would you know personal information about my woman?" Eric growled, standing to his full height towering over Compton.
"I swear, she introduced herself when she sat down." Compton cowered.
"No she didn't." Felisha said standing near the bar. Eric looked over at her. "All she did was order her juice, and asked for a tiny black straw, not a clear one." Felisha elaborated. Compton shot her a pissed off looked. she rolled her eyes at him. She couldn't wait to not have to deal with him and his cop behavior all night anymore.
"The club is closed, I want everyone out. Claude, keep him here with Alcide. Trey, call Ludwig. Pam, I want Catfish and the twins called in." Eric barked the orders as he picked up Sookie, and carried her back to the office. Compton swallowed. 'The Twins' were Eric's uncles on his mothers side who were known for being Enforcers of Erics that he only called in in the most extreme cases.
Eric carried her back to the office and laid her down on the brown microfiber couch. The office was really nice looking. It didn't look like it was hastily furnished out of a trash can like his office at the bar did.
"Lover, I am so sorry. This will not stand." Eric said with remorse and conviction in his voice.
"Eric, you cant kill him right now. He's a fed who's blown his cover. You'll get fucked up if you kill him." Sookie said placing her hands on the sides of his face while he kneeled next to her.
"but I want to shoot him in the head so bad." Eric whined at her.
"I know, but you need to play it smart. He punched his ticket, he's gonna get it… just bide your time and make it look like an accident." Sookie said, leaning forward and kissing him, but she hissed accidentally moving her ankle pulling back which made Eric positively seethe.
"Ughhhhh…." He growled…"I'm so sorry."
"Its not your fault. Look at the bright side, he blew his cover wide open, and fast with me. The Feds will back off for a while just based on his moronic moves. You know what, fed's usually operate in pairs. Suss out his partner too." Sookie said and he nodded.
"You're a prefect Queen for me." Eric whispered kissing her again. careful not to jiggle her leg.
"I have to call my Dad. He has a ton of guys on his payroll in the FBI and CIA. At the end of the day how I handle this tonight is his call because those contacts belong to him." Eric said regrettably. Not many things are above his pay grade, but this is one of those rare times where Godric outranks him.
"As long as his solution isn't to kill me, whatever." Sookie snickered. Eric pulled out his second cell phone that was only used to call his father for 'business'. It only rang twice before Godric answered.
"Are you or Pam hurt?" Grodric asked quickly as a greeting.
"No, but Compton potentially broke Sookies ankle when she got him to blow his cover." Eric said getting straight to the meat and potatoes.
"He's a dead man." Godric growled. The longer he sat with the idea of Sookie the more he liked her. She was an extension of Eric in his eyes at this point. Hurting her was as good as hurting his son.
"I'm holding him, how do you want me to close it out?" Eric asked anger in his voice. Godric thought for a moment.
"Fuck with his head, toss him in the back of a car and make him think you're feeding his ass to the gators. Walk him into the FBI building in Shreveport, and make it clear you are returning their agent to them. That will be a humiliating way to burn him. They will pasture him because he's burned, when he goes out to pasture I'll know where, and the twins will take care of him. Make sure the twins see him tonight so they can remember his face." Godric said.
"Pam already called them for me." Eric said, not loving the plan, but it would do. He really wanted to kill him himself.
"I know you are disappointed, but it cant be you." Godric said sympathetically.
"I know." Eric growled.
"Delegate for a few days. Take some time to take care of your girlfriend personally." Godric told him.
"What?" Eric asked, generally his father had always had a no days off policy. Eric couldn't count the amount of holidays and birthdays his father missed because business came first.
"Don't put business above your woman, Eric. Trust me, it's not worth is and it only leads to regret." Godric said sadly.
"Okay." Eric said. He knew his mothers murder had taken a huge toll on his father. It had led to him spending 5 or so years very close to Eric and Pam really getting to know them for the first time in their lives. He wasn't just teaching Eric to take his place, he was teaching Eric to be better than he was.
"Give me to Sookie, I want to speak to her." Godric said, Eric hesitated, but handed the phone to Sookie.
"My Dad wants to talk to you."
"Hello?" She answered tentatively.
"Sookie, my dear. How are you?" Godric asked.
"Hoping you aren't on your way to come put me down like a lame horse." She said with a snicker.
"See, I told you we'd laugh about that." Godric said, and Sookie shook her head. "Seriously though, I wanted to assure you I will handle this. It wont stand, but it needs to be dealt with delicately."
"I understand." Sookie said sincerely. She did understand. Eric couldn't just go shooting federal agents.
"You call me if he isn't taking good care of you. I told him to take a few days off to wait on you hand and foot." Godric said.
"Oh, he doesn't have to. I'll be fine." Sookie said, glancing down at her swollen, and now definitely bruising foot and ankle.
"He does have to." Godric said with finality. "You take care. You'll get the best of anything you need. I promise." Godric assured her.
"Okay." She said looking over at Eric who just shrugged.
"Alright, I have things to arrange." Godric said and hung up before Sookie could say anything else. She handed the phone back to Eric and said.
"I get to live to see another day." She joked, and Eric smiled.
"Thats always a good thing." He smiled. There was a knock on the door.
"Enter." Eric barked, and Pam walked in.
"Ludwig is here, so are the twins. Catfish is running a delivery. I decided to not pull him back." Eric nodded, and said.
"Go get Ludwig and switch with me. Stay with Sookie, I have to go manage the Compton stuff. I'm supposed to return his burned to a crisp ass to the FBI building." Eric told her. Pam looked at him surprised.
"Dad's orders?" Pam asked and Eric nodded.
"Thats a really aggressive message to send. Dropping off a live agent like you caught a naughty teen out past curfew. They will look like fools." Pam said.
"And get off my ass for a while while they try to solve their incompetence issues." Eric said
"But they cant…" Pam said.
"No, they cant. Half the Fed is bought and paid for. Hell, the Government is the biggest organized crime syndicate out there." Eric chuckled, and Pam smirked before she walked out to bring the doctor back.
"Lover, I'll be back. Two hours tops." He said kneeling next to the couch again.
"Don't rush. I'll be fine, do what you need to do." Sookie said reassuring him.
"Sookie, you aren't fine. I'll be back in two hours." Eric said with no room for argument, kissing her one more time before he stood up. Pam walked back in with the doctor who was pushing a cart of equipment. He nodded to the troll like looking doctor that barely came up past his waist, and walked back out to the main room of the club. The place was cleared out, the lights turned up and the music off. Everyone who was in his proper employ and not just a club employee had remained. Compton was tied to a chair in the middle of the room. Felisha was standing on one side of Compton holding a gun standing guard, Trey was on the other.
Eric walked to stand in front of Compton, and just stared at him silently. Letting the silence strike even more fear into him. Finally he spoke, turning to Alcide and speaking in Swedish.
"Go be with Pam and Sookie, make sure she gets anything she needs, and guard her. Take Jake too, but rotate. You'll be on guard duty all night. I'm taking Rasul with me." Alcide nodded, motioning to Jake to follow him. they went back down the hallway to the office. Eric turned back looking at Compton, but instead of speaking to Compton he turned and spoke in English.
"Uncles, this federal agent came into my home, and harmed MY woman." Eric said, glancing at the twins who were standing behind him. having walked forward when he addressed them. Godric had already called them, they knew exactly why they were there. They were noting the face that they would be ending as soon as he was put out to pasture.
"The Government is not sending their best." Sigbert said in his heavy German accent.
"No, they really aren't. My Lover caught him, and she's not even involved in my business." Eric said, now leveling Compton with his stare.
"She's a good woman." Wybert said, taking a hulking stance behind Eric with his brother. Towering over Eric who himself was 6'5".
"Yes, she is." Eric nodded. Pam walked up to Eric to whisper in his ear. Eric's eyes blazed, his face reddening at what Pam was telling him. Eric stood up straight again saying in Swedish.
"Go ahead with Alcide and Jake to the clinic. Don't let them start the surgery until I get there. Make sure the doctor knows I want this kept off the radar." Pam nodded and went back to the office, Eric turned back to Compton and spoke, not to Compton, but really the room.
"Federal Agent William Thomas Compton III, born in Monroe Louisiana 1985 to Caroline and Jesse Compton, brother of Judith Compton, fuck buddy of Federal agent Lorena Ball, who is also his partner, father to an illegitimate child named Jessica Hamby born in 2005 to Jenny Hamby his college girlfriend, who Now attends LSU, living off campus, and currently working as an intern at the law offices of Madden and Flower, has broken my Lovers ankle. She will require surgery. it will take months for her to recover fully." Eric said. Bill started breathing heavy. He knew his cover was blown, but he didn't know how badly he was burned or that Jessica was now compromised too. He wasn't the best father by any stretch, but he loved his daughter.
"I didn't mean to hurt her." Compton cowered. Felisha hit him in the gut with the butt of her rifle, earning a nod from Eric. Compton just groaned.
"Load him up. Trey, Rasul come with me." Eric instructed, the whole room started moving. Eric walked out the The SUV that had been pulled up out front and got in the drivers seat. Trey and Rasul were dragging a struggling Compton out with Felisha walking behind them to cover their backs. They roughly got him in the back seat of the SUV each of them flanking him and holding him down between them. Felisha walked to the drivers window and Eric leaned out and said.
"Go to Ludwigs clinic, watch the doors and general area. I want to know of any movement thats not normal. Stay even after I get there. Rasul will be there to walk the perimeter in a few hours. You focus of the doors, and immediate parking lot. Stay out of sight." Eric instructed.
"You got it, Boss." She said nodding. She was extremely loyal to Eric. DeCastro had killed her husband while he was doing work for the organization. Eric made sure she has been taken care of ever since. This was all before Eric was in charge. It was a big reason the switch over from his father to him for almost everything underground had gone so smoothly. That and Eric not just driving the Irish out of Louisiana and Mississippi, but completely out of the south massively expanding the Swedish territory at the same time.
Eric pulled out, and Trey put a blindfold on Compton.
"Where are you taking me." Compton yelled. "Just leave my daughter out of this. She hardly even talks to me as it is…. Please." He begged making Eric roll his eyes. If this had been a different time in his life he would have tracked his daughter down and gotten her to fuck him as a power play, but that time in his life is over.
"Rasul, his daughter is pretty. Maybe you should take a trip down to New Orleans and pay a visit to Little Miss Daddy issues." Eric said with a laugh, making Compton struggle and cuss at them.
"You know, I think a cute little red head is just my type." Rasul said in his deep gravely voice. Eric meant it, he would have no problem letting Rasul go down there for a while to get into a relationship with Comptons daughter who admittedly hates him.
"She's gonna be a lawyer." Trey snickered.
"Unless Rasul fucks some new ambitions into her." Eric laughed making Compton struggle harder.
"I'll bring her to the dark side." Rasul laughed with them. Eric pulled up the the FBI headquarters, and got out walking around opening the door on Treys side. Trey pulling Compton out with him. Eric ripped his blindfold off. Comptons eyes widened as the three large men started dragging him into the building. They stopped at the security check because none of them would be surrendering their weapons, thus going no further.
"We're returning your under cover agent. Please tell whoever comes and collects him that Eric Northman lost interest in this little piggy after watching him be a fool for 3 years." Eric said, and pushed Compton into the security guard.
"What?" The befuddled guard asked.
"I'm returning one of your under cover agents. I'm board with him, so I took him home. Call his handler Nan Flannigan, and his partner Lorena Ball. they will be interested in having him back." Eric said, turning around walking out. Trey and Rasul following behind him closely. Bill groaned, he wasn't just burned, he had burned Lorena and Nan too…. Nan was going to kill him.
Trey drove them to Ludwigs clinic and Eric sat in the back discussing Rasuls trip to New Orleans after Sookie was doing better. Eric was dead serious. Eric is hopeful to get her so enmeshed he can have her in his employ. They always need more good lawyers. They pulled up to the clinic. Eric cut the conversation off abruptly and hopped out of the back of the SUV, running inside where Pam was waiting for him. she walked him back to Sookie. Ludwig stopped him in the hallway first.
"Northman, I have my team here, and ready in our surgical suite. I will need to keep her here until day after tomorrow. I want to keep an eye on her swelling which is particularly bad." The tiny doctor said gruffly to him.
"whatever she needs, I'll pay for it." Eric said and walked past her into Sookies room where she was hooked up to an IV and in a hospital gown.
"ERIC!" She yelled with a smile.
"I see you got the good medicine already." He teased as he walked up to her.
"I did, only the best for meeeeeee." She said in a sing song voice.
"Absolutely, Lover. I'm going to spoil you so much when we get home. I am so so sorry about this." Eric said sincerely.
"It's okay. I'm getting a pink cast and they are adding glitter." Sookie said with childlike excitement.
"Well, thats pretty sweet. Glass half full." Eric said with a small smile. He didn't think it was sweet at all. It just pissed him off that she was hurt, let alone hurt so bad she needed a plate put in her ankle.
"When I was little, my Dad broke my collar bone when he threw me because I was moving too slow. my Gran, god rest her soul, gave me a stuffed gator that at the time was huge, but really it was just huge to a 6 year old. I miss my Gran. She was great." Sookie said wistfully.
"Your Gran sounds wonderful. What happened to your giant gator?" Eric asked.
"My Dad lit it on fire because I ate a hot dog without asking." Sookie said like it was completely reasonable, and not horribly abusive.
"I'm so sorry, Lover." Eric said, smoothing the hair out of her face.
"S'okay, you fixed it." Sookie said, gazing up at Eric adoringly. Eric smiled at his little blood thirsty Lover.
"Northman, its time we're taking her back now." The doctor said walking into the room with two other people who came around Sookies bed and wheeled her out the door.
"How long will it take?' Eric asked.
"An hour, maybe two. She's the only patient in here, and we operate outside of normal protocols so you can watch from the preparation room that looks into the OR if you want. Just you though. Your sister started heaving just looking at her swollen ankle when we took a better set of x-rays when we got here." Dr. Ludwig said as they wheeled Sookie out.
"I'll watch, show me where." Eric said and went along side Sookies bed. Taking her hand as they walked to the end of the hall.
"I love you, Eric. I'm not mad I promise." Sookie said reassuring him which pissed him off more. HE protects HER.
"I know, Lover. I love you too. I'll see you when you get out." He said smiling, but really he was just pissed.
He took out his cell phone as he watched them prepare her for surgery and get her put under.
"Dawson." Trey answered his phone.
"Trey, I need you to get a Sookie sized stuffed gator for me. She's 5'3" so it has to be at least that big. I need it as fast as possible, no later than day after tomorrow." Eric said into the phone.
"A sookie sized stuffed gator?" Trey repeated to clarify.
"Yes." Eric said simply.
"Yup, you got it. I'm on it. After I get it where do you want it?' Trey asked.
"Take it to my house, leave it on the couch or something. I'll get it situated myself." Eric said.
"Sure thing. Want me to take Pam home? She's getting tired." Trey asked, looking over at Pam who was dozing in the waiting room chair.
"Yeah, stay with her too. Rasul, Alcide and Jake are all here. Theres only 1 guard on the property tonight." Eric said with a sigh.
"Oh man, stay the night with my girlfriend, twisting my arm, Buddy." Trey chuckled.
"Ha ha, have a good night, and find what I need, Please." Eric said mock annoyed, watching as they started cutting into Sookie. He wasn't squeamish, but this really bothered him.
"Consider it done." Trey said and hung up.
Eric watched the rest of the surgery. positively seething by the end of it. This was all Comptons fault. If he hadn't have yanked on her making her stumble in her heels, her ankle wouldn't have rolled, and she wouldn't be in surgery. He hated that he didn't get to just end Compton right then and there tonight. He would settle for his daughter though, who he had tasked Rasul with getting her roped in so deep with them she's either part of the syndicate for life, or she gets herself killed. Either will work for Eric. Bill Compton will die as soon as he pastured, and Eric will take over his daughters future.
Two days later Eric was bringing Sookie home with her sparkly pink cast. He drove Pams Mercedes because getting in and out of his corvette would have been murder on her. He got her out of the car and carried her in and down into his room. While she had been in the hospital he took the liberty of moving all of her things into his room, which is now their room. the Sookie sized stuffed gator was laying on the bed waiting for her. Normally he gives her lavish gifts, jewelry, shoes, designer clothes, electronics…. He felt like this she would really really appreciate though. Especially after she did a lot of throwing up after she got out of surgery because the anesthesia made her sick to her stomach. She needed some cheering up because throwing up in front of him, repeatedly seemed to mortify her. Eric didn't care though. He'd hold her hair while she puked. He loved her. Violent post anesthesia vomiting and all.
"Eric, they gave me crutches. You don't have to carry me." Sookie protested as he was walking her through the house.
"And deny myself the gift of holding you close to me? I think not." Eric laughed and walked across the house to the stairway that leads down into their room. He carefully got her down the stairs. Punching the code into his door and opened it. walking towards the bed. They were halfway across the room when Sookie noticed what was on the bed.
"Oh my god, Eric you didn't!" She yelled excitedly when she saw it.
"I sure did." He grinned proudly and laid her down on the bed. He smiled when she grabbed the giant toy, and hugged it to her.
"Thank you so much! I love it! This is the best gift you have ever given me! He's perfect. His name is Jeff." She said excitedly her glee was contagious. Eric kicked his shoes off and got in bed with her.
"Jeff? Really?" He asked with a smile.
"Yeah, the original one was named Jeff too. This is Jeff the second. Thank you so much, you are too good to me." She said and pulled him to kiss her.
"No such thing as too good for you. Only the best for my, Sookie." He grinned.
"You're spoiling me." Sookie said seriously. She was thinking lately more and more that she was going to have a hard time when Eric eventually tired of her and moved on.
"Of course, you're mine. I'm going to make sure you're getting anything you want any time you want. I take care of you. I protect you. Thats the deal." Eric said like she was talking crazy talk.
"Eric…." She said looking at him thoughtfully, and a little sad.
"What? Why is your face doing that? Does your leg hurt? Are you uncomfortable?" Eric asked looking concerned trying to scoot her around and adjust her to make her feel more comfortable.
"Oh no, Eric I'm fine." She said with a sigh.
"Then what's wrong, Lover?" He said, smoothing her hair, running his hand down the side of her face.
"I don't want you spoiling me so much. When you move on it's going to be hard for me to go back to being normal." Sookie said as she leaned her face into his hand and closed her eyes. Her face became a frown when Eric started laughing. "Whats so funny?" She asked indignantly.
"Lover, you are stuck with me forever. I'm not letting you go, or moving on. When I say you are mine, I really mean it. You aren't just mine today and tomorrow. You're mine for the rest of time. If anything, this experience has showed me that I need to get you better arranged to defend yourself. Obviously, you're not going to best a man my size, but you need to start carrying a gun and know how to use it. To be able to at least try to get yourself away from an attacker. I know I told Ludwig I wanted this to stay on the down low, but that little goblin is a terrible gossip. Your importance to me is going to spread, and it's going to make you a target." He said sincerely as he carefully pulled her to him so he could hold her as tightly to his body as was possible.
"What if I want to leave you?" Sookie asked looking at him with a smile.
"Thats what all the spoiling you is about. So you don't want to leave me. You get the best stuff, the best sex, and I'm going to treat you so good all other men look repulsive to you." Eric said with confidence. Making sookie giggle.
"You are good at sex."
"You get my A game at all times. I wont be caught slacking." He said with a smile, and a brow wiggle, before he dipped to nibble at her neck making her giggle again.
"I love you." Sookie said with a contented sigh, gazing lovingly up into his eyes.
"I love you too. I'm crazy about you. Not in a figuratively crazed way either. I'm really crazy when it comes to you. It's not healthy." He laughed.
"Eric, you kill with impunity, and run the Swedish Mafia without a care in the world. You were never normal or sane. I knew what I was getting into after the events right before our first date. I love all of you. I'm on your side no matter the circumstances." She said grabbing his face and holding him so he looked right at her.
"Always, partners forever."Eric said taking a deep breath. knowing that without a doubt she was going to be his woman forever. He NEEDED her. She was his. He said he was never going to let go, but he meant it. If she ever did try to leave he probably would hold her prisoner because it had really gotten to the point that now that he had her, he couldn't go back to how life was before. He HAD to have her. Sookie Stackhouse was now an essential part of a functional Eric Northman.
The months wore on, and as her ankle healed Eric started having her practice with different guns at shooting ranges with him. Teaching her how to assemble and disassemble them. Teaching her how to use more exotic weaponry, that was military grade. Eric meant it when he said he wanted her to know how to defend herself.
One day they were pulling up to the junk yard to see Catfish. Eric had told her to dress in athletic clothes. she decided to wear a gray workout set and her little puma tennis shoes. They got out, and Catfish met them at the gate that was also guarded by two hulking men who Sookie had seen around, but didn't really know. They both nodded at Eric respectfully as they walked past them. Eric and Catfish didn't speak until they were deep into the junkyard. They walked into a building that other than the door just looked like a mountain of old cars and general trash. They walked in, and it was a large training center. Sookie should be used to it by now. After all, she knows Eric has an entire tunnel system under a large portion of the south, secret buildings underneath some of the most unassuming businesses. Hell, he had a literal dungeon, under a Burger King he owns the franchise for. these hidden workings still seemed to shock her. She looked around the large immediately visible area with wide eyes, only stopping when Eric started to talk.
"Sookie, Catfish is going to train you in hand to hand combat. He's not going to go easy on you. He's not going to hurt you, but you are going to take a few hard hits or falls so you can learn. I have really been wrestling with this, but I just don't think I can be rough enough with you to teach you well enough so you can truly hold your own to a degree. In fact, I'm going to actually leave, and come back for you after you are do your lessons with Catfish, because I don't think I can watch it either." Eric said regretfully.
"I understand, I trust you." Sookie said making him smile.
"A'ight Eric, I got er. I'll get er whipped into shape fur ya." Catfish said looking at Eric, before he turned to Sookie. "I'm who trained Eric because his Dad wasn't able to knock him around enough to get the job did right. I a'int gonna do nothin' that a'int essential to the lesson. You a'int gonna like it, but you are gonna need it." Catfish said as he crossed his arms looming over Sookie making her shrink back a little.
"Okay Lover, I'm going to go. I'll be back in three hours. You'll be doing this 2 to 3 times a week with Catfish for the next year or so. This is all for your own safety, okay. I love you." Eric said pulling her into a hug.
"I love you too." She whispered. Eric gave her an uneasy smile. then made a 'get to it' hand motion and walked out of the building. She looked back at Catfish who stalked towards her, making her try to inch her way back until she was trying to turn and run away. She didn't get far before he caught her and threw her to the ground.
"Lesson 1, don't run. You stand and fight." Catfish barked at her.
Several weeks later, Eric was working in his office while Sookie was out in the bar enchanting everyone who works for him. He smiled at that thought. He knew his people were loyal to him, but Sookie was fostering the same loyalty for herself in a completely different way. She truly cared about everyone, and took great interest in them. Clancy's girl had recently had a baby and Sookie threw her a baby shower. The whole thing was sort of bazar, you know, because it was mostly attended hardened criminals, mobsters, contract killers, and their wives and girlfriends. Sookie wouldn't hear anything other that 'yes, do it.' When she found out the baby had been born and wasn't properly showered. Clancy and his girl had even gone so far as to make Sookie the baby's Godmother. Eric had recently attended the christening with her, which made him smile.
"Eric." Sigbert said when he walked into Eric's office at the bar one evening.
"Uncle." Eric replied with a respectful nod.
"Compton was pastured to Seattle, but he has gone underground. According to our contacts he's on his own. This wasn't a move of the agency." Sigbert informed him.
"Hmmm, well. He would have been an idiot to stay where they put him. He has to know the agency is compromised, and he had a mark on him." Eric said and thought for a moment.
"Wybert is continuing to search for leads as to his whereabouts. Your father has summoned me, I need to see what he needs." Sigbert said with a weak smile. Eric shrugged. His father doesn't call up his men often, and his Uncles are hardly his underlings.
"Of course, keep be informed." Eric said respectfully, but the wheels in his head were already spinning wondering what the hell Compton was up to and where he was at. Canada if he was smart, Eric mused.
"Absolutely, Sookie looks well." Sigbert said with a smile, taking a seat in the chair across from Eric's desk.
"She's doing great. Catfish says she's catching on quickly. I still have 24/7 guards on her though. I probably always will." Eric said honestly. His mother didn't like guards, she felt like she could take care of herself. He wouldn't let Sookie meet the same fate no matter how capable she became.
"As you should." Sigbert nodded and reached in his pocket pulling out a box. "I thought you might want this. Your father returned it to us because it was from our side of the family, but I thought you might want it for Sookie." Sigbert said as Eric took the little box from him and opened it. It was his mothers wedding ring. It had been her mothers before her also. Eric just took a deep breath, and took in the ring. The stone was amber glass, but the metal work was elegant and ornate in the silver. Underneath, on the thickest part of the band his mothers family crest was engraved along with the words loyal to death in German. Eric smiled, and snapped the box shut before he put it in the locked drawer of his desk.
"Thank you, Uncle." Eric said sincerely.
"Your Mother would have liked her. They are a lot alike." Sigbert said as he lounged back and clasped his hands over his stomach.
"I think about that all the time. Mom wasn't all business, we had happy, loving relatively normal lives. She made sure Pam and I were tough, but also people. I miss her a lot. I wish she could have met Sookie." Eric said sadly. He had no problem admitting these feelings to one of his uncles. His father was hurt himself from losing Sophie Ann, so he wasn't always the best place to express such feelings. Eric, in fact tried to discuss her as little as possible with his father at this point.
"Her heart was large, but also very strong. She would be proud of the man you are, and the woman you have picked. If I didn't think your mother would have approved I would have never brought you the ring. She called me and Wybert to wish us a happy birthday last month." Sigbert said laughing.
"Yeah, she does that." Eric laughed. Sookie had found out everyones birthdays who is in the organization so she could contact them all and make sure they all got at least one happy birthday. Yet another reason Sookie had become very popular with the crews.
"She's so polite, asked about our health. If we were eating healthy. She's a little peach." Sigbert laughed.
"She's really the very best." Eric agreed. Sigbert stood to leave and said.
"Marry her soon or I will take that back." His tone warning, but playful.
"Don't worry, It's on my to do list." Eric chuckled and stood to shake his uncles hand before he left the room. Eric did a few more things. replied to a few texts before he walked out to the bar to go find Sookie.
When Eric spotted her she was sitting at a table with Pam and Jessica on either side of her. Rasul and Trey sitting on the outside. They were all laughing about something. Rasul didn't even have to seduce Jessica, she hates her father as much, if not more than Eric does. Apparently, he's a pretty sadistic prick. Eric himself could be pretty cruel and sadistic, but he never harmed unaffiliated women and absolutely never children. Sookie and Jessica had bonded over physically abusive fathers. Jessica had had it a bit worse, apparently Bill had been going full Chester the molester dancing on all the lines one should never even approach with Jessica when she was in her mid to late teens, and used his position in the FBI to threaten her mother if she didn't give him access to Jessica. Jessica blames Bill's abuse for her mothers drug addiction. Like Eric said, he could always use more good lawyers. Jessica fit in well with his legal team and his head Lawyer Damon Catalides has said she had a good eye for loop holes. Lawyers are their own breed. In Eric's opinion there were no conventionally morally good lawyers. Just winners willing to do what they have to do to win, and losers who shouldn't be lawyers. Eric was glad to have another winner on his side.
"Lover." Eric greeted as he got to the table. Pam and Trey got up so he could slide in next to Sookie, who he wrapped his arm around and gave her a quick kiss.
"Eric, Jessica was just telling us about how she argued Tommy out of all those traffic cam tickets. She somehow managed to convince the judge that since the video wasn't reviewed for weeks after the alleged crime after it was automatically flagged, that the actual complainant was the computer system, and machines cant be aggrieved parties." Sookie giggled.
"Robots have no rights." Jessica said aggressively before she laughed.
"When the machines have their uprising you're going to be the first to go." Eric laughed, but he soon got more serious and leaned forward speaking so only those who were at the table could hear.
"Compton was pastured up North, but he went underground before the twins could get to him. He's in the wind with no leads yet."
"Are they still looking?" Rasul asked.
"Wybert is out looking for a trail. My Dad called Sigbert back for something." Eric said with a nod.
"Your Dad called in Jackson too. Alcide was saying he left this morning." Trey supplied.
"Is he hosting an old man convention?" Pam asked with a smirk.
"I wonder if he called in Sam, Catfish and Barry. If he did thats all of his old guard who's still active." Sookie said. Eric gave a little, hmmm, sound. Then took out his phone to send a few texts before he said.
"I guess we'll see." And sat his phone on the table.
"Why would he be calling in all the old men?" Trey asked sounding confused.
"I have no idea, maybe they want to see who's knees crunch the loudest when they get out of a chair." Eric suggested with a snicker.
"Eric, thats just stupid." Pam said with a sneer, making Eric give her a dirty look. "You know they cant hear the crunching over the distressed groaning sounds they make as they struggle to stand." Pam finished, and Eric laughed along with everyone else. Eric's phone chimed, and he looked at it.
"Fully attended old man convention. Dad said to mind my damn business, and leave his friends alone." Eric smiled and shook his head but tossed his phone. Whatever, he figured his Dad had his reasons.
In the months and weeks that followed Sookies training took off and Catfish said she was his best student. She had actually managed to stab him during knife training which she felt horrible about, but it only served to make Catfish beam with pride.
Eric had asked his father to come down to Shreveport, under the guise of having him sign some things over to Pam because Trey had properly moved in with her at the compound, and he wanted them to co-own the property with him. Really he had alternative motives for getting his father in town.
Eric had a chef brought in the cook for the family dinner he called. They were all sitting at the large table in the formal dining room that was extremely lavish and ornate. It was a room Sophie Ann had decorated that Eric and Pam had left as is because they rarely used it. Eric thought it was a fitting place to do what he was about to do, because it was a small piece of his mother in the room. Godric was seated at the head of the table. Eric and sookie on one side, Pam and Trey on the other. Their meals were being cleared as they were all just sitting chit chatting now sipping on the wine Godric had brought that Eric personally thought was gross, but he thought all wine was gross. Sookie shared his opinion on wine being terrible. he smiled as he looked over at her nearly full glass. When the last plate was cleared and the maid left the room Eric took a deep breath, and got to the point of why he summoned his father.
"Sookie?" Eric asked turning to her. She smiled, looking like the angel that she was. She was wearing a red full length cocktail gown, with a scoop neck and thin straps. Her hair was elegantly swept to one side. She looked every bit the Queen that Eric was about to crown her as.
"Yeah?" She asked, turning slightly in her seat to look at him. Godric set his wine glass down, leaning forward looking intently at his son. Sensing he was doing more than having conversation. Pam was grinning, she knew what was happening because Eric had given her the heads up. She had been holding the ring for him since he got it and had helped him lure his Dad to them.
"You know how much I love you, right?" He asked sookie.
"Of course I do. If we weren't together you'd be my kidnapper." She said with a playful smile. Godric snorted and rolled his eyes, but sort of agreed. Eric has certifiably in love with Sookie.
"Well…" Eric started and he stood up and got on one knee next to her before he continued watching her as eyes went wide. "I was wondering if you would marry me, and be my person forever. The Valkyrie to my Viking?" He opened the ring and held it up to her. She smiled widely and nodded before she said.
"Yes, absolutely forever." Eric slid the ring on her finger, pleased to see it fit her perfectly without any sizing.
"It was my mothers, and her mothers before that." Eric said holding her hand. leaning forward so he could kiss her.
"It's beautiful, it's perfect." Sookie smiled, as she made excited weeeeeee noises and Pam got an almost insane look on her face at the prospect of getting to help plan a wedding. Trey looked happy, but also a little worried, because he knew Pam was going to start sniffing around for a ring soon. Not that he didn't want to marry her, he just didn't want to ask her before Eric's wedding. It just seemed like the type of thing that would piss Eric off since he liked his stuff to be his, and this seemed like an Eric moment. He just hopped they didn't stay engaged too long.
"Not going to ask for my blessing?" Godric snickered, having picked his glass back up, swirling his wine.
"Nope, I thought about seeking your blessing, but then I thought to myself 'naw, fuck that guy'." Eric laughed as he stood walking Sookie to his father so he could see the ring on her hand. Over the last year and a half his father had really taken to Sookie. So much so, sometimes Eric thought he preferred Sookie to him.
"You know, Sookie doesn't give me all this attitude." Godric said, quirking his eyebrow at his son, lifting Sookies hand to gaze at the ring that had once adorned his own wife's hand. He had to suppress the bitter thoughts he was having at all the things that were stolen from Sophie, and how he had failed her so terribly. Eric getting married was another experience she was robbed of.
"No, she saves all the attitude for me." Eric laughed and Sookie gave him a 'so what?' Look with a shrug.
"Congratulations, Darling. The ring is right where it belongs." Godric said pleasantly before he kissed the ring on her hand and released it.
"Remember when we first met and you tried to kill me?" Sookie asked Godric with a wide smile, making him chuckle.
"Yeah, then you uno reversed, draw 4'ed me by trying to take yourself out so Eric and I wouldn't be responsible. You are unpredictable in the best way, My dear. Perfectly suited to rule at Eric's side." Godric said standing to pull her into a hug, then hugged Eric too. who was grinning widely. He didn't really care if his father approved of him getting married, but it was nice that he did.
"I like to zig when people think I'm gonna zag. Keeps the body guessing." Sookie said with a giggle.
"She likes to keep Eric's body guessing." Trey snickered from his seat into his glass. Eric gave him a smirk and Sookie blushed. Trey being Eric's number 1 had resulted in him catching them going at it on more than one occasion.
Later that month Eric showed up to Pam and Sookies office unannounced, just because he missed Sookie.
"Eric! What are you doing here?" Sookie asked getting up from her desk, coming to give him a hug and kiss.
"I was on this side of town and I decided to come take my Fiancé to lunch." He said, dipping her a little to give her another kiss.
"I want pasta." She said as went to grab her purse.
"Then Pasta my Queen shall have." Eric said as he motioned to Jackson and Jake to come with him Trey was staying there to hang out with Pam.
Eric took Sookie to a little Italian place in downtown, and they had a nice little lunch. They were chit chatting about wedding plans and ideas when Eric got a phone call and frowned when he looked at the caller ID. It was Remy Savoy who was out making a run with Preston Pardelo. Eric shouldn't be hearing from either of them personally. They should be going through Catfish. He answered the call, careful not to say too much. Basically, Remy was on his was back with the shipment, Peston was AWOL, and the entire situation just stunk to high hell. Eric took a deep breath after he hung up and turned to Sookie.
"Lover, I have to go. Work emergency." She nodded knowing there has to be a big problem for Eric to be leaving her in the middle of a lunch date and to not personally take her back himself. He waved over to Jackson and Jake.
"Take her back to her office, then home when she's done." Eric said standing, putting his sit jacket back on. His boss face and tone in full force.
"She's in good hands." Jackson nodded, as he watched Eric toss some money down on the table before he walked out to go handle his Preston Pardelo problem.
Sookie took the time to order dessert and finish her Italian soda. No reason to not enjoy the rest of her lunch she thought. She wasn't concerned about Eric. She knew he would handle whatever was going on. It wasn't her problem. She walked out of the restaurant flanked by Jackson and Jake. She joked with them a little before she got in the back of the SUV, Jackson opening the door for her.
She had her phone out as they were driving in comfortable silence, texting Pam what she and Eric had discussed about the wedding, when a truck suddenly ran a red light and hit the front of the SUV sending Sookies phone flying. Jackson and Jake both immediately pulled their guns, sookie reaching under the seat and pulling one out for herself. Her purse had gone flying so her gun in there was no good to her. Just as they were doing that three more vehicles boxed them in in the intersection.
Jackson got out and started Shooting, Trying to clear a path to get Sookie out.
"Stay down in the back!" Jackson yelled at Sookie who was crouched down.
Jake was firing out the window at the 6 men who were approaching from his side, but was shot in the head, slumping over. His lifeless stare facing right at Sookie where she was crouched. She took a deep breath slid over. She decided to catch them by surprise.
Sookie threw the back door on the driver side open. immediately shot and took out three of the men on the drivers side before she took off running as she shot behind her. She didn't make it too far when a large man grabbed her, twisting her hand to make her drop her gun. She screamed and arched back grabbing the stiletto off her foot and swinging it lodging the heel directly in her captors eye making him scream and drop her. She took off in the opposite direction. Grabbing one of the guns off the guy she shot first as she got out of the car as she ran back across the intersection that was now resembling a war zone sending the general public screaming and running in every direction.
Sookie saw Jackson get shot and go down. She stopped full of anger and screamed.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Jackson had become like a father figure to her in the last couple of years. She knew this would kill Alcide. it was all because he was guarding her. She ran towards the man who shot Jackson using the battle cry Catfish had taught her and shot and killed the man who had shot Jackson. Standing over him. shooting him 3 more times panting hard. That was her mistake though. She stopped moving. She felt a pinch in her arm, and suddenly the world went black.
Jackson watched weakly as the dark haired man slipped the needle in her arm and caught her body as she collapsed before picking her up. He never saw his face so he didn't know who he was. He saw him toss her in the truck and drive off with her. He recognized several of the guys who attacked them. This was Edgingtons men. He pulled out his phone with a shaking hand and called his son.
"Dad?" Alcide answered.
"Edgington took Sookie, Jake is dead. 41st and Clementine. I'm proud of you." Was all Jackson could get out before he passed out, quickly succumbing to his injuries.
Eric was seething, Alcide enraged, Pam was trembling with rage while they watched the CCTV footage from the intersection.
"What do we do, Eric?" Pam asked.
"We're going to burn the world until we get her back." Eric growled as he took out his phone. His father picking up on the second ring like always.
"Are you or Pam hurt?" His father answered as always when Eric used this phone.
"Edgington took Sookie. Compton was the one who physically drugged her and took her." Eric gritted out.
"Call in everyone, load up everything and get people moving into Mississippi. I'm on my way, we're going to get her." Godric said, ice in his voice hanging up.
"Trey!" Eric barked, Trey instantly moving him.
"Call in everyone, I mean everyone. Load up everything, and start moving into Mississippi to position to take the Edgington compound. Alcide, Pam you're coming with me. Trey meet us at the junk yard when you're done, send Rasul there too." Eric said before he stormed out. Pam and Alcide close behind him.
Eric got in the drivers seat of the SUV, Driving at breakneck speeds to the junkyard where Rasul, Jessica and Catfish were already waiting for him at the gates when Eric pulled up, everyone getting out and falling behind Eric.
"We're gettin er back, Eric." Catfish seethed. Eric just nodded, the twins pulled up squealing to a stop, getting out and jogging to catch up with Eric and everyone else. Wybert putting his arm around Pam who rested her head on his chest. Her uncle looking down at her and wiping her tears from her face before he leaned down and whispered.
"Show no weakness, we'll get her back." Pam nodded, and Wybert gave her one more tight squeeze before releasing her. He knew she was young when her mother was murdered. This was most likely bringing up very unpleasant feelings for his little niece. Now wasn't the time to be weeping though. They had drugged Sookie when they took her. Odds are she's alive still because they took her alive.
Catfish stepped ahead of Eric and unlocked a different building in the very back of the junkyard that was a full military grade armory.
"Holy Shit, Eric! How did you get all this?" Pam asked stunned, looking around wondering if he had a nuke in there also.
"I have said it a million times. The government is the biggest organized crime ring of all. If you have the cash they will sell you weapons, no questions asked." Eric said, his voice now taking a terrifying calm to it. He was locking in. The last Time Pam saw this was when Eric went out to avenge their mother. Eric reached into a box and threw a kevlar vest at her and pulled out two plates for it from a different box. "Put that on." He ordered.
Trey had just walked in, and Looked at Eric handing Pam a vest. He took a deep breath and asked.
"Are you really taking her with us?" Looking back at Pam who to him looked so fragile as she put the vest on.
"Yes, and she's not rolling with you. You need your head on straight, not watching her." Eric said sternly shoving a vest at him too. Trey looked over at Pam concerned, but knew better than to question Eric.
"Who are you putting her with." Trey asked, trying to walk the line lightly.
"My Dad and Catfish." Eric said plainly, and took an earpiece the Sigbert had set up for him. Trey just nodded. he still didn't want her to be going.
Eric's father called him back.
"Go." Eric barked answering.
"He's doing this over Talbot. You took his lover so he took yours." His father hissed.
"What about Compton?" Eric asked.
"Common enemy I suppose." Godric replied.
"Yeah." Eric agreed tersely and grabbed more guns, mags and a grenade or two for good measure.
"I'm already in route with everyone in Nashville." Godric said and abruptly hung up.
6 hours latter they were ready to move in. Sookie had really endeared herself to those around her. Stan Davis and his Biker Crew from Texas even came in to join them. There was a mutual respect between Eric and Stan, both had taken over for their fathers, and both stayed out of each others areas full stop, if there was overlap they worked together. This was personal for Stan. Sookie had knit baby booties for his Old Lady with a congratulations letter when Eric had heard she was pregnant and told Sookie. Thinking on that made Eric aware of how much Sookie loved babies apparently, and he decided to get her pregnant as soon as she agreed to it when he gets her back.
Eric was moving silently in the shadows, Trey, Rasul and Jessica behind him. Suddenly, they heard gun shots coming from within the compound.
"Who moved in without my order?" Eric hissed into his coms.
"Thats not one of ours. It's coming from inside the house." Catfish replied. Eric just smiled.
"It's Sookie, shes not locked in there with them. They're locked in with her. Let's move in and give her some help." Eric said giving the order, pulling up the rocket launcher he had secured to his back and shot it at the front gate of the compound taking out the gate and guard tower. Eric hear explosions from the other entry points and smiled as he ran in. Shooting taking out the guards as they went. Hearing the body count in the com's making him feel soothed. They were already taking out half of Edgingtons guys, Eric knew he Brought enough to far far outnumber who Edgington had working for him.
Eric moved through the house, taking out anyone in his way. He got hit from the side and growled when he realized it was Compton.
"Oh, Fuck you!" Eric yelled, punching Bill as they struggled through the upstairs hallway. Bill shoving Eric into the wall making the drywall crack.
"You ruined my whole life." Compton seethed. Eric pulled back and head butted him to get him off of him and punched him, pushing him back.
"You messed with whats mine. You forfeited your life." Eric growled, grappling with Compton again trying to reach for his other gun, while also keeping Compton from grabbing it. The struggle was starting to fall out of Eric's favor as Bill was keeping him on the walls of the hallway. Keeping Eric from getting leverage. Eric heard two close gunshots and Compton collapsed.
Jessica had come behind them and shot her father point blank in the neck trajectory of the bullet going down into his torso. Bill Compton gurgled on the ground looking up at his daughter, his face awash with betrayal as the last of the life went out in him.
"God Damn, I wanted to do that myself. If it couldn't be me, I'm okay that it was you." Eric said looking down at Compton laying in the large puddle of his blood.
"It wasn't hard to choose between you and him." Jessica said, moving some of her stray red hair out of her face.
"Lets go, Sookie was spotted on the other side of the house." Trey yelled as he ran down the hallway towards them. Eric letting him go first to lead the way to where Sookie was spotted. Eric getting a smile on his face that she had been seen alive.
Across the house Pam and Godric were fighting back to back, they had ended up surrounded in the great room. Catfish threw a frag out into the far hallway to clear it so they could get out of the room and not just straight into an even tighter fight. There were still a few guys in front of them, and the three of them were now taking cover behind a table they had flipped when Catfish looked up and yelled.
"YEEEEHAWWWWW!" He saw Sookie kick out the vent and drop out with a butcher knife in her hand right on top of the two men blocking the exit stabbing the one she landed on allowing Catfish to shoot the second one while he was surprised by Sookies sudden drop in entrance.
"Hey guys, Is Eric here?" Sookie asked casually, but looking worse for the wear. Her dress was ripped, filthy and burned in some places, her hair was matted and hanging oddly to the side. She was bleeding from her forehead and her arm. Godric got on his Com and said.
"The Valkyrie is secured with Odin, Freya and Loki. Viking, move to the great room. We're gonna hold tight." Godric grabbed a gun off of one of the bodies, and handed it to the battered looking Sookie. She had clearly been busy. They had gone past a lot of bodies they weren't responsible for killing. Some of which had obviously been dead for a few hours already. Catfish was beaming like a proud Papa. He was impressed by Sookie and the skill she had acquired.
They barricaded in near the exit Sookie cleared for them behind a table and waited. Pam looked Sookie over noting she was a bit worse for the wear.
"Are you okay?" Pam asked Sookie, looking up when she heard gunshots moving closer again.
"I'm doing better than a lot of people in here." Sookie shrugged and Pam giggled.
"What happened?" Pam asked, Scooting closer crouched next to Sookie.
"They took me from the intersection. Compton drugged me. When I came to I was here and Compton was pulling my dress down looking at my tits. I faked sleep a few minutes until he was in the right place for me to kick in the nuts. Then I took out his baby makers and ran. I grabbed a knife from the kitchen. long story short I have been trying to fight my way out of here since. I was moving around in the air ducts. I haven't been watching a clock, but I think its been a few hours I've been terrorizing this place." Sookie said with a demented grin.
Eric ran in the great room with Trey and Jessica. Sookie stood up and ran right to him.
"I knew you would come! I just had to hold on." She said as she flew into his arms.
"I will always come for you." Eric said squeezing her close to him.
"Eric, let's go. We need to finish clearing this place." Catfish said standing up. Eric nodded and they started moving further into the compound. More and more kills being called in over the coms. Edgingtons losses had been almost total at this point. Many of his men fleeing when they saw what he had brought to his doorstep. The entire first, and basement floors had been secured as well as the west wing of the second. Eric gave the order for everyone to hold positions while they finished moving through the last of the house.
They approached a set of large French doors. Eric knew this had to be the master bedroom. He grabbed Sookie and moved her behind him to stand with Pam and Jessica. Trey had taken the position with his back to the group watching behind them when Eric kicked in the doors with his father right next to him. He cringed a little when he saw the sight of Russel Edgington sitting on the edge of his bed holding a picture of Talbot weeping. Okay, whatever. No wonder the guy was so easy to best. He called Alcide to come up over the com before her walked forward.
"Russel, you touched something that was mine." Eric said like he was scolding a naughty toddler.
"You took Talbot from me!." Russel hissed, standing up slowly as he set the picture of Talbot down.
"Talbot was a snitch. He double crossed me and got what he deserved." Eric said cooly.
"He was mine." Russel cried furiously.
"If you cared so much you wouldn't have sent him into the lions den." Eric said nonchalantly. Alcide walking in the room. Taking in the feral scream Russel was making.
"He's your Kill Alcide, for your father." Eric said stepping out of the way. Alcide stepped up, and swallowed. His face contorted with rage. He raised his gun and shot Edgington in the face, his body falling back on the bed, then bouncing to the floor. Eric called in the last kill.
"Alcide, congratulations. You are now the King of Mississippi. I trust you to run things here for me." Eric said clapping his back. He knew it wouldn't bring his father back, but tearing down Edgingtons empire would at least help balm the wound. Alcide nodded, Eric walked through the group to Sookie and put his arm around her.
"Lets go home." Eric said to Sookie. She nodded and they walked out of the crumbling house together.
5 months later they were sitting at the reception for their wedding. Guests and associates coming up to pay their respects to Eric and Sookie. There was a break in the line of well wishers finally. Sookie turned to Eric, and said.
"You know, I think I'm ready for that baby now. We need to start making the 4th generation to manage this organization. It'll also get Sigbert and Wybert off my back. They want a grandchild pretty bad."
"I am more than ready, Lover. They are my Uncles though, our baby wouldn't be their grandchild." Eric said a little confused.
"Do you want to tell them they cant be Opa's to our children?" Sookie asked seriously. Eric looked over at his hulking twin uncles who were arm wrestling for money just a few tables away and chuckled.
"Yeah, no. I guess our kids can have 3 grandfathers to off set the lack of grandmothers." He said looking out at the crowd.
"This is our Empire isn't it?" Sookie said, noticing Eric was just taking in all the people who had come to bless their marriage. Those loyal to Eric specifically, and those who also just respected him and Sookie.
"It really is, and you're my Queen who will rule at my side." Eric grinned.
"I'm in it forever, baby. You're trapped with me." She smirked.
"Trapped with you? Sounds dangerous…. But I like danger." Eric grinned as he leaned to kiss his Queen who was finally crowned and in her rightful place.
