"One Dance Away From Forever"

The February night wraps around them like silk as Kara leads Lena onto their apartment's balcony. Fairy lights twinkle overhead, mirroring the stars, and soft music drifts through the open doors. The city sleeps below them, but up here, time seems to stand still.
"Dance with me?" Kara asks softly, holding out her hand. She's nervous - Lena can tell by the way she adjusts her glasses with her free hand, by the slight tremble in her smile.
"Always," Lena answers, stepping into the circle of Kara's arms. They sway together under the stars, and Lena feels the familiar warmth that always comes with being this close to Kara, like being wrapped in sunshine.
"You know," Kara murmurs against her temple, "sometimes I still can't believe this is real. That I get to hold you like this, that I get to love you."
"Getting sentimental on me, darling?" Lena teases gently, though her heart flutters at the words.
"Maybe." Kara pulls back slightly, and there's something in her eyes that makes Lena's breath catch. "But I've been thinking... about how every morning I wake up and my first thought is how lucky I am. How every night before I sleep, I thank Rao for bringing me to you."
They're still swaying, but now Kara's voice grows softer, more intimate. "When I lost Krypton, I thought I'd never find home again. But then there was you, with your brilliant mind and your beautiful heart, and suddenly I wasn't lost anymore."
Kara steps back, and Lena's eyes widen as she sinks to one knee. "Lena Luthor, loving you isn't just something I get to do - it's the greatest gift I've ever been given. Every smile, every touch, every moment with you feels like flying and coming home all at once."
She pulls out a ring that seems to hold starlight within it. "This was crafted from the heart of a Kryptonian crystal, because you're the heart of my world now. My future, my home, my everything." Tears shine in Kara's eyes as she looks up at Lena. "Will you marry me? Will you let me spend the rest of our lives showing you just how much I love you?"
Lena's voice trembles as she whispers, "Yes. A thousand times yes."
The ring slides onto her finger, and suddenly they're rising into the night sky, Kara cradling her close as they float among the clouds. They dance there, suspended between earth and stars, as Kara peppers soft kisses across Lena's face, catching her happy tears.
"I love you," Lena breathes, pressing her forehead against Kara's. "My beautiful, wonderful alien."
"I love you too," Kara murmurs back, her smile brighter than any constellation. "Forever and always, in every universe, in every lifetime."
They stay there, dancing in their private piece of sky, trading soft kisses and softer promises. The ring glows gently on Lena's finger, a piece of Krypton's heart finding its home with Earth's biggest soul.
