Somehow, she didn't know how she did it, but Echo had convinced Stefan to give her some of his blood. Maybe the doppelganger curse is stronger than she thought. Echo has been resisting as much as she can for now. If she starts a relationship with Stefan, she wants it to be genuine and influenced by the Traveler's spell.
Stefan had given Echo a full blood bag. When he went to question why, Echo wouldn't tell him. Which he found suspicious. He also noticed Echo and Zheko getting ready to leave somewhere on their Harleys' so he decided to follow them. None of them noticed Damon watching everything and following behind Stefan.
The twins head out of town, and towards one of the biggest and probably dumbest ideas they could have. The three hour drive felt longer than it should have. When they arrived at their destination, they stretched, then went over the plan. Of course the twins could sense they were being watched. Echo groaned, "Come out, Stefan. I know you're there."
A sheepishly guilty Stefan moved from where he watched the twins to stand by them. "You never answered why you needed my blood, so here I am." The twins groaned in sync at Stefan's idiocy. "Are you going to explain?" Stefan asked. Zheko exhaled heavily through his nose, "As soon as your brother joins us." Damon didn't bother looking guilty as he appeared next to Stefan.
"Zheko and I are about to head into the oldest tomb in this cemetery and wake someone very dangerous. You two should not be here. Who we are waking feeds solely on vampires, which is why I needed your blood." Echo partially explained. Her and Zheko made sure to have a believable story about how they found out about Mikael. Just for moments like this where it seems they were caught in the act.
The twins started walking towards the tomb. The Salvatores follow with Damon asking the next question, "Why are you waking this vampire up if he's so dangerous?" Zheko answers, "We learned about him through mutual acquaintances. He was entombed over a decade ago by Bonnie's mother." Zheko saw the recognition in Stefan's eyes, "He was after Echo because she's a doppelganger." Echo cut in, "We're going to make a deal with him that he can't refuse."
Zheko snorted, "Godfather? Really?" Echo shook her head, "Shut up. We're here." Echo used her telekinesis to yank the rusty chair off the tomb door, pushed open the metal gate, and walked in. All four of them stood at the foot of Mikael's sarcophagus. Zheko raised the lid, dropping it to the ground. Echo carefully opened the blood bag over Mikael's partially open mouth and let a few drops fall.
Mikael's eyes shot open. He stared at Echo, his voice raspy from disuse, "Foolish of you to seek me out when I tried to kill you when you were a child." Echo wasn't bothered, "We need to talk. My twin and I know some things. Things you'll be quite interested in." Mikael, still not strong enough to break his chains, "Like what?" Zheko is standing right behind Echo ready to use his abilities to hold Mikael back from attacking them.
Echo braced herself for a violent reaction, "Dahlia Hagen." Mikael growled as he used what little bit of energy he had and struggled with his chains, "What does that bitch got to do with anything?!" Echo continued, "She's alive. Now, I need you to stop struggling and listening carefully." She waited for Mikael to stop moving, "Dahlia is alive because she created her own immortality spell. She would sleep for 99 years then wake for one full year at full power. However, in order for this spell to work, Dahlia linked her life and magic to another. Someone with magic just as strong as hers."
After a slight pause, Echo said what she knew would clue Mikael in, "A first born." Mikael pushed and pulled with all his strength and got free of his chains. Zheko didn't hesitate to levitate Mikael off the ground so he couldn't attack anyone. "Lies! Freya is dead!" Mikael roared. Echo shook her head, "No, she's not. Esther lied because she was trying to cover her ass. Esther was barren. She tried everything to give you a child. When nothing worked Esther went to her sister for help. Dahlia agreed to give Esther a fertility spell in exchange for Esther's first born and every Mikaelson first born thereafter." Mikael was seeing red at this point, "Why tell me this?!"
"Because we know where Freya is. And we want to make a deal," Zheko chimed in. Mikael calmed enough to listen clearly, "What kind of deal?" "Freya for Klaus. We tell you where to find Freya, free her, and you stop hunting Klaus. His parentage is not his fault, it's Esther's. You don't have to see him, or make any kind of contact, just stop hunting him." "If I agree, what do you get in all this?" Mikael spoke a little calmer now.
"We get an ally in Klaus," Echo stated then clarified, "The moment word gets out about a human doppelganger, my life, my blood becomes highly sought after by the worst sorts. I would rather have the Originals help me protect myself and live a somewhat normal life than to spend it running and hiding." Zheko carefully set Mikael down, "Think about it. You get Freya back, link her to you, and live out eternity with the child you thought you lost." "Where is she?" Mikael spoke through gritted teeth. "New Orleans, in the attic of Dowager Fauline Cottage. You'll need a witch to get in," Echo told the man.
Mikael's eyebrows scrunched, "Aren't you two witches?" With the way they're picking him up and holding him, Mikael thought these twins were witches. The twins shake their heads in sync, "No, we're considered mutants since we can do the things we can but have no magic" Echo explained. Mikael didn't want to waste another minute but before he went, "If Freya is not where you said she is, I will come to Mystic Falls and kill you after I kill everyone you ever loved." Echo tilted her head, "Are you sure Klaus isn't yours?" Mikael growled before snatching the blood bag and vanishing.
All four of them exhaled in relief before Damon started on a rant, "What the hell was that?! He could have killed you, and it seemed like you didn't care!" Echo rolled her eyes but secretly loved the concern he was showing, "I'm fine, Damon. Zheko is fine. Besides being tired." With that, the four of them left the now empty tomb and headed home.
Meanwhile in Mystic Falls, a very strung out Vickie Donovan collapsed in her bathroom after taking a lethal dose of Oxycontin. With no one home, Vickie overdosed on her bathroom floor. By the time her younger brother, Matt, found her it was too late. Vickie Donovan was pronounced dead at 8:47 pm on Saturday night. Matt couldn't stay at that house a moment longer, he is now living with his best friend Tyler until graduation.
AN: Still sick so the chapter is short. Alaric/Tool will show up in the next chapter for sure after Tanner's death. There's another change I'm making in regards to Mikael and Klaus later on. Let's just say, Esther will be in big trouble when her lies catch up to her. And I killed off Vickie.
