Chaos erupted instantly, tearing through the unsettling calm that had smothered the village just moments before.
Sugar surged forward, her grotesquely twisted limbs propelling her like an animal, eyes locked onto Nami with murderous intent. Nami moved swiftly, spinning the Clima-Tact around her fingertips, sparks of lightning crackling in its wake.
"You've haunted us long enough, Sugar," Nami hissed, stepping back just enough to brace herself. "Time to end this!"
Sugar lunged, her distorted face stretched wide with a savage grin. Nami dodged smoothly to the side, channeling a pulse of energy through her weapon. This sent Sugar crashing into a nearby stall, splintering wood exploding outward.
At that exact moment, Doflamingo descended toward Zoro and Sabo, threads shimmering gold in the fading sunlight, slicing the air itself. Zoro blocked the first strike, blades crossing in a sharp X, sparks erupting violently as steel met supernatural silk. Beside him, Sabo launched into a blistering offensive, fists blazing with white-hot fire as he sent waves of flames to melt through Doflamingo's threads.
"You two mortals think you can defy a god?" Doflamingo mocked, his voice a sinister melody amidst the chaos. "Pathetic."
Zoro tightened his grip, feeling the familiar strength and balance of his swords once more, though he felt a little hallow without Wado. It was his curse but also his gift, a piece of Kuina - no matter how twisted it was. He smiled coldly, eyes sharp. "I've faced worse. Your threads aren't nearly as sharp as Mihawk's blade."
Doflamingo's expression darkened, his laughter shifting to anger. "You dare speak his name to me, traitor? That weakling is nothing compared to me!"
"You aren't the greatest swordsman...so I definitely don't know who you are," Zoro scoffed, leaping forward to deliver a fierce series of strikes, each one harder and more precise than the last. "Now, I'm going to tear you apart."
Across the battlefield, Nami danced fluidly around Sugar, a tempest of lightning and wind. Sugar, feral and enraged, twisted her body grotesquely, bones cracking audibly as she stretched her limbs impossibly far, clawing at Nami's face, barely missing by inches.
"You'll never win!" Sugar hissed, saliva dripping from her twisted mouth. "I'll erase you from existence!"
Nami's eyes flashed dangerously. "You already tried—and you failed."
She slammed the Clima-Tact into the ground, sending arcs of electricity surging outward, catching Sugar in a violent storm of lightning. Sugar shrieked, thrashing violently, her stolen body convulsing as her hold over Tashigi began to weaken.
"N-Nami…" came a soft, strained whisper. It was Tashigi, briefly reclaiming control, eyes pleading and desperate. "You…have to stop her…free us both…"
"I will," Nami promised fiercely, pouring her magic into the storm she'd conjured. "I swear."
Nami swung the Clima-Tact, lightning crackling at its tip as Sugar dodged, laughing cruelly. Sugar's distorted face twisted further, shifting grotesquely between Tashigi's and her own, taunting Nami as she danced just out of reach.
"You really think you can win, little witch?" Sugar mocked. "Face it—you can't save anyone!"
Nami gritted her teeth, her heart pounding furiously. "Shut up! I will free them—all of them!"
Sugar paused, eyes flickering dangerously with wicked amusement. "And how exactly are you planning to do that? If you kill me, you'll kill Tashigi." Her grin widened maliciously. "You'll kill Kuina, trapped within. You'll even kill that precious swordsman of yours. Zoro's life force is bound to me now. It's no use!"
Nami's breath caught in her throat. Fear gripped her chest like ice, dread threatening to break her resolve. Her gaze darted briefly toward Zoro, watching him battle alongside Sabo, fierce but unaware of the depth of their danger. She knew Sugar wasn't lying. Everything Mihawk and Kuina warned her about echoed relentlessly in her mind.
But then, her grip on the Clima-Tact tightened. Resolve surged forward, stronger than the doubt. No, she thought fiercely. There had to be a way. She had saved Zoro before, and she would do it again. She had freed his memories, broken Doflamingo's threads—there had to be something else. Something she hadn't tried.
She lifted her weapon defiantly, eyes blazing with renewed determination. "I'll find a way. You won't take anyone else from me."
Sugar's laughter was wild, ringing with twisted glee. "Then come and try, little witch. Let's see how many you're willing to lose."
Behind her, Sabo and Zoro coordinated their attack, moving seamlessly, fire and steel harmonizing as they forced Doflamingo back step by step. Threads snapped and burned beneath Sabo's flames while Zoro's swords cut through the demigod's defenses, inching closer with every swing.
Doflamingo growled furiously, frustration and disbelief etched across his arrogant face. "How… How can mere mortals—?"
"Because we're not alone," Sabo smirked, flames intensifying around his fists. "We have something worth fighting for."
Zoro glanced toward Nami, heart swelling fiercely. She was holding her own, powerful and determined, her presence fueling his strength even more. "And we refuse to lose."
Sabo lunged, sending a massive, fiery fist directly into Doflamingo's chest, staggering him. "Now, Zoro!"
Zoro surged forward in a blur of motion, blades crossing as he shouted fiercely, "Nitoryu—Rashomon!"
Twin arcs of sharp, concentrated energy ripped through Doflamingo's defenses, slicing through his threads and tearing a deep, bloody gash across his torso.
"You…insignificant…worms!" Doflamingo seethed, struggling to rise. He had allowed Sugar to use some of his energy, and now it was giving him a disadvantage. But he had to focus on his challengers if he wanted the witch. "I'll destroy you!"
But Zoro only smirked, blades poised confidently. "Try it. We're just getting started."
Nearby, Nami gathered all her strength into one final, powerful strike. Thunder roared, clouds darkening overhead. She raised the Clima-Tact, eyes blazing. "Thunder Lance—TEMPEST!"
A bolt of lightning exploded downward, striking Sugar directly. The creature inside Tashigi screamed—a sound of agony and defeat—as dark magic was ripped violently from her host. Sugar's grotesque form shattered, leaving Tashigi's limp body collapsing to the ground.
Panting, Nami rushed to her side, quickly kneeling to check her pulse. But it was no good; Sugar took back control and slashed at Nami, grazing her arm and drawing blood.
Seeing Sugar weaken under Nami's onslaught, Doflamingo's eyes narrowed dangerously. She had served her purpose, and now her failing strength would serve his own.
"Master?!" Sugar screeched, betrayal and panic twisting her voice.
Without remorse, Doflamingo flicked his fingers. Golden threads wrapped viciously around Sugar's body, draining her remaining energy back into him. Tashigi's body convulsed under his ruthless power, trapped between freedom and destruction.
"Tashigi?" Nami whispered gently, but she could tell as she heard Sabo and Zoro struggle behind her. Doflamingo was losing, so he was using his own people as energy.
Sugar was slashing frantically as if trying to save herself, but it was no use. Suddenly, a gentle voice drifted to her, clear yet impossibly soft—familiar and comforting. "Nami…my sweet girl, don't lose hope."
She spun around sharply, searching wildly. "M-mama?"
Bell-mère's voice wrapped around her like an embrace, calming her racing heart. "Remember who you are, Nami. You have the power within you to do what others say cannot be done. You are more than just a witch or a weapon, my love—so much more."
Nami's throat tightened, tears blurring her vision. "But how, Mama? Tell me what I need to do!"
Bell-mère's voice was warm yet tinged with gentle sorrow. "What you seek requires sacrifice. The greatest magic always does—especially when love is involved."
Nami swallowed hard, glancing again toward Zoro, watching him fight fiercely, fearlessly. "I'll sacrifice anything," she whispered fiercely, determination flaring within her chest, "but I won't ask more from Zoro. He's already given so much."
Her mother's voice returned tender and knowing. "If he loves you, Nami, he will never see it as a sacrifice."
The words sank deep into Nami's soul, igniting something fierce and confident. She straightened, grip steadying on the Clima-Tact as she faced Sugar again, her eyes blazing with renewed resolve.
"I'm done playing your games," Nami declared firmly, power swelling around her. "It ends here."
Sugar lunged desperately, claws outstretched, hatred burning in her eyes. Yet, at the last second, Nami made a choice—not born from magic or logic, but pure instinct and love.
Dropping the Clima-Tact, Nami surged forward, tightly embracing Tashigi's possessed body, pouring every ounce of compassion and strength into her embrace.
"What are you doing?!" Sugar shrieked, confusion battling anger.
"Saving you—all of you," Nami whispered fiercely, tears spilling freely down her cheeks. "Even you."
White fire erupted around them—not burning, but cleansing. Sugar's screams echoed as the darkness within Tashigi was consumed, leaving behind peace and freedom.
As the flames faded, a gentle warmth remained. Nami opened her eyes, heart pounding, to see Tashigi's features soften. Kuina's spirit shimmered gently above Tashigi's now-peaceful form. Her eyes locked onto Nami's with gratitude and serene finality.
"Here's your sacrifice, Nami…" Kuina whispered. Her spirit began to glow brighter, shifting gracefully into a radiant silhouette of a familiar blade.
In a flash of soft white light, Kuina became Wado Ichimonji once more—whole, purified, and gleaming gently. The sword floated gracefully down, landing softly in Nami's waiting hands.
"Don't let him cry anymore..." Kuina said through the sword.
Nami nodded tearfully, spinning to face Zoro, "Zoro! You forgot one!"
She launched the blade, and Zoro suddenly felt the emptiness in his soul so clearly. As he gripped his first blade once again, he exhaled for the first time in what felt like years, his grip tightening around the familiar hilt. His entire presence shifted instantly, and his eyes brightened as something long missing finally clicked into place.
"Thank you, Nami," Zoro breathed, smiling softly, his soul now whole again.
Doflamingo froze, eyes widening as the brilliant flames erupted from Nami—power, unlike anything he had ever witnessed. Recognition, disbelief, and greed flashed across his face in rapid succession.
"Impossible…" he breathed, then threw his head back in wild, incredulous laughter. "The ancient weapon—Pluton?! Within this mere witch, this mortal?"
His gaze sharpened dangerously, his smile turning feral. "Oh, this changes everything."
Sabo wiped the blood off his cheek as he panted, "Pluton?"
He glanced at Nami, who seemed focused on protecting the unconscious Tashigi. He spoke into his wrist, "Koala. I need you. You need to get that swordswoman and...and Nami out of here!"
Zoro shouted, "What's wrong with Nami?"
Then he placed Wado in his mouth and took his defensive stance. Sabo shuddered, "This... this is worse than I thought."
Suddenly, Doflamingo descended on them, pushing them far away as he eyed Nami. "That weapon...is mine!"
Doflamingo charged, threads blazing toward Nami—but at the last moment, a familiar figure materialized from the shadows, laughter echoing confidently beneath his straw hat.
"Now, now, Doffy," Luffy grinned, cracking his knuckles calmly, "at least give her a chance to stand up first."
A violent shockwave erupted as the two forces clashed, the air trembling with power. Doflamingo snarled furiously, "Move aside, boy!"
Luffy stood firm, Zoro and Sabo immediately flanking him, united in determination. "Sorry, not gonna happen—not today."
