With Tieria
"Why did you do that?" Tieria's voice was harsh and low, not wanting to draw the attention of the two dueling force users. He looked at the wounded clone, his blaster still raised as Regene fell back against the machine. A hand was over the blaster mark, the wound clearly burnt. Thankfully it wasn't immediately fatal, though he didn't know how much longer the clone had left. Some blood leaked through the fingers of Regene, and he could only guess how much blood was on her hands.
"I wasn't going to hurt you, if that was what you were worried about." A heavy grunt left the woman, and Regene closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. Tieria kept his eye on her in his peripheral vision, looking back over at the duel. There was a wildness in his comrade's movement, a manic look in his eyes. There was a pressure in the room, almost choking. He almost wanted to watch all of it, but he knew he had a job to do.
Regene grinned as Tieria turned back to face her, "You know your friend cannot win. So, we have to use the machine against him."
"What does that mean?"
She gestured to the chamber on the right, "If we can seal him up in one of these pods, we can drain his life force. The other side does not need to be filled for the machine to function. Or you can set the explosives and blow him up inside of it." Tieria growled under his breath, but even he had to admit it was a good idea.
He nodded at her, "This amount of explosives is likely to blow up this chamber. Maybe even destabilize this ruin."
"Then give me the detonator. I likely won't make it out of here alive." Some blood dripped onto the floor as if to emphasize this, and Tieria looked at the two detonators on his belt. He grabbed one of them and handed it to her.
"Both of the detonators are linked to them. If you die, then I'll press the button." Regene just nodded, and Tieria continued to plant the rest of the thermal detonators. He reluctantly focused on making sure they were in the right place, and he could hear Regene ripping some fabric to cover her wounds. He looked to see a sleeve removed from her outfit, tied around her waist, blood soaking over the spot.
"I wonder how our relationship would have been if Ribbons hadn't locked you up with the rest of the animals." Tieria's hackles rose at her words. 'Neil wasn't an animal. Allelujah wasn't an animal!" He clenched his fists, taking a harsh breath. 'Now isn't the time.' He could hear the cackling from Allelujah, and he wondered what had happened.
"I probably would have been Ribbons favorite agent, or he would keep sending me out to die, seeing as I ruined his relationship with his master." A hint of sadness filled his voice, but not about being tortured or exiled from this group. 'All of this destruction for a selfish impulse. Because he was rejected.' He had no idea what he would do in Ribbons's place, but he hoped it wasn't this.
"Are you sure-" Regene shut up as Tieria turned his head to look at the woman, his expression unseeable. But the tenseness of his shoulders was more than enough to clue in the imperial agent.
"If you are about to suggest I join you, I think you should read the room." The sounds of the lightsaber fight echoed in the background, "And I will not join a man willing to drain the life force of people for his own selfish gains!" He ripped off his helmet, showing the anger that filled them. It was determination, a protective instinct that radiated from him.
Regene scowled, seeing her genetic twin so unlike herself. 'That's not how the universe works.' Regene just fiddled with the detonator, fingering hovering over the button. Tieria narrowed his eyes, and Regene just moved his fingers back over the handle, coughing up a little blood. She internally smirked, bearing the pain. 'He already handed me the key to victory.'
Main Throne Room
Lyle threw another cell into his blaster. Normally he never had to reload, but right now was not normal. Droid chassis covered the floors as he sent another Ion blast into a smaller droid. He rolled to the side, moving out of the way of another stab by the smaller droids. A blast knocked them from off the rubble, and he looked at Anew, who had just kicked on back, "How are there so many here?!"
Anew tore her attention away from combat for a split second, and took a deep breath, "If they are an empire like Ribbons thought, then they would have an army." A part of her understood why Ribbons was obsessed with this, and wondered how much of Ribbons was in all of them. The structure was grand, and in a better time this would be studied and maybe even change history.
But right now, they were fighting for every second of life, so that thought fell away. Anew looked over the cover, and took a shot without a second thought, disabling a droid heading towards Marie. The woman was covered in sweat, her white hair free. Her staff was covered in marks, and metal limbs surrounded her as she danced.
Anew heard a sharp slash and looked over to see a leg impaled into Lyle's left shoulder. He grunted in pain, and she fired at it, hitting its optics, causing it to collapse onto the ground, the leg following it. Her eyes filled with worry, seeing the blood beginning to seep from the heavy wound. Lyle let out a heavy grunt, dropping one of his blasters, "Kriff!" His cry drew the attention of Sergei, who moved closer to them.
Anew began to pull out bandages, "Cover us!"
The soldier nodded, and threw his last grenade, disabling a large group of the defenders at once. Lyle let out grunts as Anew cleaned up the wound as fast as she could. It was messy, and he would need real healing after this, but as the bandage wrapped around his shoulder, he could at least focus. His eyes met the Anew's, and a knowing smile crossed his eyes, "I think I'm coming to love you."
Anew's eyes went wide, and her heart leapt out of her chest. It was words she wanted to hear, but the man she was coming to love clearly had a terrible sense of timing, "Of all the times to say this."
Lyle let out a groan of plain as she tightened up the wrap around the man's shoulder, "A bit lighter!" He took a shuddering breath, "When else was I going to say it? When I was dead?"
Anew growled in frustration, "We'll talk about this later!" She kissed him harshly, and seeing that the bleeding was at least contained, she rejoined the fight, soon joined by the Corellian. He winced in pain, but the adrenaline was keeping him up, "Stay down!"
"You think I would quit just because I can't use one of my arms." He could still move it, but any fast movement was like his body was on fire. He grit his teeth, and rejoined the fight, just like his lover, "Besides, Marie can't hold out on her own."
Marie panted. She looked at the two large droids engaging her. She had already dealt with two of them, but one seemed to replace everyone she fought. They were stronger than her, and she had given up trying to block. Another stab came down onto her, and she weaved past it, dodging a blast from the other. Stone broke, and she stabbed up, missing the chassis and slicing the blaster. She rolled away, placing a hand on the ground to steady herself.
More of the smaller droids surrounded her, and she struck at them in a wide sweep, catching a few of them. The volume of fire had decreased, and a blast grazed her left leg, revealing a burn as blood began to flow down her leg. The pain was dull, adrenaline keeping her up and active. But she could still feel the stiffness that hadn't been there before. She looked back, seeing the wound on the Corellian. Fighting enemies with no sense of pain was always the worst.
Marie silently nodded to herself, and as the rest of the team began to assist her again, she could sense a presence where Feldt and Setsuna were. She shuffled that to the back of her mind, and stood back up, jamming the blade into the sensors of one of the three droids engaging her. Its hull absorbed the blow, but there was a crack in the optics. A wide blow swept over her, and she breathed a sigh of relief, right before a dull ache surged in her.
She let out a harsh breath, and danced between two blows, parrying one leg each as she spun with momentum. She rolled with the movement, slicing through the top of one, cuttine out the processor of the droid, causing it to collapse, the color in the eyes dying. That left her with a half-blind droid and fully operational one.
Fatigue was setting in, and she sucked in breaths as she was only given a few seconds to recover. Sergei called out over private comms, "Get back to us!" She hoped he noticed, and in that split second of distraction, she was only able to dodge the stab, instead taking the full force of the arm into her sternum, sending her sprawling onto the floor. She hit with a hard thump, barely avoiding falling on her bad leg.
Her vision swam, and the staff fell out of her hands. Her eyes went wide as the blade came surging at her, and closing her eyes, she called the blade to her hand, the double-bladed weapon flying through the air like a sawblade. It was like time was slowing down, and just as she tilted her torso to the left, the sharpened leg stabbed right above her collarbone, delivering a glancing blow.
A blade slammed into the side of the machine, the vibrations slicing through a weak point in the armor. It sunk in deep, and the machine collapsed onto the ground, sputtering and shuddering, grinding sounds coming from the inside of the machine. Marie took a deep breath and opened her eyes, wincing at the blow that was aimed at the center of her chest. 'Thank the force.' Heavy fire rained on the remaining large droid, Sergei calling out Marie's name.
The Echani blinked, and now disarmed, a small droid charged towards her. She tried to move, but the machine suddenly shut down, its forward momentum causing it to tumble over. The Echani looked at the rest of the group, seeing the ones climbing over cover also fall to the ground. She stood up, and with the adrenaline starting to fade, the pain was more intense. She winced, and leaned against cover, looking at the group, "Did they do it?"
Lyle nodded, "They must have."
With Feldt and Setsuna
Heavy footsteps echoed around the room. The door to the hallway was closed, and Ali tapped the flat of a blade on his shoulder. The handle was made of smooth wood, with leather for extra grip, and the blade had a gentle curve. It shined in the light, and was massive, nearly four feet long in total length. He wore a dark set of heavy armor, the durasteel plates overlapping across his whole body. The massive pirate looked at the two rebels, Feldt desperately working at the case protecting the wires, "Ribbons promised me some rebels, but who knew that would mean you two?"
Setsuna took deep breaths. He wasn't fully exhausted, but that previous fight had drained him. 'I used to much energy.' The last time he fought the pirate, Setsuna had been fresher. Overconfident, but at least less drained. Anger began to rise, and Setsuna let out a heavy breath, pointing his weapon at him, "She isn't going to be taken by you."
Ali just grinned, "Who said I was? While she is a beautiful woman, I want to hear her cries as I kill her. Maybe I'll let you live to see it." Setsuna's shoulders became tense, "Struck a nerve I see. Are you two together?" All of his words were flippant, and Setsuna wanted to strike him down more than anyone else in his life.
Feldt grimaced at his words. Memories threatened to flow back, but she bit her lip, using the pain to gain control of herself. A burning flame was in her hand, and the stone and metal were tougher than it looked. All of her fears were hard to fight, but everyone depended on her, and she could never let them down. 'Setsuna, please don't lose yourself.'
Setsuna charged forward, and instead of engaging, Ali dropped a grenade, smoke filling the air. Setsuna stumbled as it burst, and Ali's blade came slicing down onto him. Setsuna brought up his own, but the sheer force pushed Setsuna back a step. With a free hand, Setsuna used the force to blow the smoke away, revealing the alien mercenary. 'How is it not breaking? I should have sliced right through it.'
"Nice blade. Hope it lasts longer than your last one." Ali's eyes were filled with mirth and excitement, and Setsuna broke the parry to slash out at the man's stomach. Ali skillfully jumped back, and Setsuna could see a collection of grenades and tools on his belt. There was also a blaster, but he could deal with that. He couldn't identify the grenades on sight, but he was sure one of them was a flash grenade.
Setsuna matched blades with him, avoiding blows as the force guided his actions, "One you'll never be able to use. But you won't make it out of here alive!" Setsuna's anger flowed into his blow, forcing the mercenary a few steps back, though it was easily parried away.
"Where is all that anger coming from? Surely you are supposed to control it. Or was I wrong about the Jedi?" This caused Setsuna's anger to rise, and his blows became more slopping as anger dominated his actions. All of them had their backs to the wall, and he had no choice. It was kill or be killed. Ali parried or dodged blow after blow, his smirk only growing bigger. Ali immediately pushed back after an overswing, forcing Setsuna back.
Blade met blade as Setsuna panted, each blow sending a shudder through him. He could no longer take the advantage, and his blade shuddered under the weight of the one he faced. A blow cut down his side, his precognition saving him from a more lethal blow. As it was, it was only a glancing blow against his armor, which fell to the ground in a heap. Setsuna took a step back to the generators, hoping they would cover him.
"Sloppy. Sloppy. And here I thought force users couldn't be matched in melee combat." Ali's large blade sliced into the generator, leaving a mark as he pulled it back. He grinned as he took a second to examine the young force user. While he couldn't sense the force, the heavy breaths and fire in the Kiffar's eyes only caused Ali to lick his lips. This was more fun than he expected, "But surely you can use that to beat me."
Setsuna was about to charge when a surge of calm and worry crossed his mind. He glanced at Feldt, who was focused on him, her legs crossed. The stone and metal had given way to wires, and a few of them had been cut. There were no words, but regret and guilt filled him. He had let that monster get to him. Setsuna took deep breaths, and he could feel energy flowing into him. He smiled, and his grip loosened on the handle, "No. I will not play your game. I won't lower myself to your level."
Ali grunted, "What's with the confidence?" He missed Feldt in a meditation pose, her head looking down as she put all the power she could into her lover. Her tools were around her, forgotten for this momentous fight.
"Because I'm not alone." Setsuna dashed forward, and using the force, time began to slow as he slowly gained the edge. Ali was put on the backfoot and was forced to take wild swings to give himself space. Setsuna ducked under one of these blows, sliding into the side of the armor mercenary. The blade sliced through the armor, drawing blood. Setsuna was regretfully annoyed that the mercenary was able to even keep up.
Ali growled, "What is that blade?" He kicked at Setsuna, who tried to parry it with his arm, but the sheer strength of the man was too much. Setsuna was sent rolling back, catching himself on one hand. He sprung forward, and he caught Ali ready to throw a grenade. In the blink of an eye, the grenade was sent flying behind a generator, the flashbang uselessly going off.
"No more tricks." Setsuna growled as he could feel righteous power flowing through him, and matched Ali blow for blow. If it was another time, he might have been impressed by the mercenary's ability to engage a force user. But all he could think about was removing a parasite from the galaxy.
A focus and intent filled every action. The calm and mirth of the mercenary had disappeared, leaving anger and desperation. As good as that was, desperation wasn't as good as it sounded. 'He's at least a century old. Who knows what tricks he has up his sleeves?' Ali used the generator like cover, mimicking Setsuna's old tactic. And Setsuna could feel Feldt's dwindling power, his own being pushed to the brink. The man dropped his blade, drawing out his pistol and taking aim at Setsuna.
Setsuna growled, and he ripped the blaster out of his hand, the bolt going wide. But to the Kiffar's regret, that had been the trap. A grenade came sailing around the generator and exploded at his feet. Viscous goo covered his legs and torso, some even covering his eyes. He was able to close his eyes in time, but the adhesive left him unable to move.
"Well Mr. Jedi, it seems your time is over." There was only anger and bloodlust in the man's voice as he picked up his sword, taking his time to approach the stuck Kiffar. Setsuna struggled against the adhesive, but he could only move his arms. He was blind and might as well have been helpless. A cry left Feldt, and she pumped all she could, trying something she had never done before.
'See how I see. Your eyes can lie to you.' Feldt's voice echoed in his head. She was straining, her breath hard. Time seemed to slow down for Setsuna. It wasn't like before. The man he hated was about to kill him. Images of his past, the crew and Feldt flashed before his eyes. He growled in anger, but he could feel Feldt in his mind. 'Open your mind.'
The fear and panic filled his mind, but he pushed that back. He was trained to resist this, as a child soldier and by Allelujah. He took a deep breath, and let her in. All of a sudden, the world came alive around him. The force echoed all around him, and the form of Ali was a few steps away from him, blade in hand. 'This is how she sees the world?' It was wonderous, and he could feel her exhaustion, only holding on by a thread. The man glowed red, himself a grey blue, while Feldt was a deep blue. The room was somewhat muted in color, if by a bit.
Ali raised his blade with a grin, and with a breath, Setsuna raised his own, throwing the blade out of Ali's hand as the katana stabbed into Ali's chest. It stabbed through the armor, then through his heart and finally out the other side. Blood covered the blade as the mercenary gasped, the life leaving his hateful eyes, "How did-aaagghh!"
Setsuna's blade came out of him as the mercenary fell to the ground, the light leaving his eyes. Setsuna didn't need to say anything. He took a deep breath, and with the last of the adrenaline flowing through him, he freed himself from the goo. Setsuna rushed over to Feldt, who was close to passing out.
He smiled at her, "Thank you."
"I couldn't lose you." He nodded, kissing her forehead as he picked her up bridal style. Just then the door to the main room opened, and Sergei appeared, bruised and cut from the attack there.
"Are you two ok?" Setsuna was leaning to one side while Feldt had clearly passed out. Setsuna had a cut down one side, but he nodded.
"I could be better. But we are alive." He looked at Feldt's tools, then at Ali, "One monster was killed."
Sergei saw the dead pirate, and whistled, "I only wish I could have seen it, but I'll get her tools and help you." The admiral collected the engineering tools, putting it on his back as he wrapped his arms around Setsuna's shoulders.
"So where are everyone else?" Setsuna looked out, and Sergei grunted.
"They went ahead."
With Allelujah
Hallelujah surged forward, Ribbons taking a last second step to the side to avoid the attack. A bead of sweat slid down the inquisitor's face. Hallelujah quickly pivoted into an overhead strike, forcing Ribbons to put some power into his parry, "I can sense the dark side flowing from you. It seems I made something more interesting than I ever expected." The mirth in Ribbons's voice didn't disappear, which caused Hallelujah to growl.
"I have been waiting to kill you!" Ribbons delivered a boot to Hallelujah's stomach, which he seemed to ignore. Anger flowed through the dark side personality, the surge of pain only adding to his power. Ribbons took a smooth step back, his own voice a bit rough.
"You have merely grasped at the dark. I have bathed in it." Ribbons struck forward, which Hallelujah met with equal force. Hallelujah could see more sweat coming from the skilled warrior. More than Allelujah had drawn.
"I'm not a merciful moron like my lesser half. You will die painfully for what you did to me!" Aggressive slashes met more parries as the two precognitive warriors exchanged blows. Hallelujah took the edge, pushing back the man who had so previously dominated the battle. Allelujah looked from the inside, seeing something his other half was missing.
The storm of emotions shut out his ability to talk, and what Hallelujah was missing was the face the inquisitor was playing as well. 'Less than with me, but still.' Hallelujah was an animal. His passion ruled him as the flashing of blades filled the large chamber. Growls and grunts left the man powered by the raw dark side.
Ribbons took careful steps back, collecting himself as he could see every flaw in the man's technique. As much as Allelujah wasn't ready for him, at least he had good technique. This dark presence was practically a berserker, slashing almost wildly. Each motion was an exertion, and Ribbons let Hallelujah tire himself out.
Hallelujah could see images of himself winning, of the inquisitor lying sliced in half on the ground. Yet for every heavy swing, that vision seemed further and further away. His muscles stained as he pumped more power into his attack. The sensation was addicting, and he immersed himself in the dark side. A feral smile grew on his face, watching as the man hit the wall behind him.
"Not so tough now. You thought you could handle me, but here you are retreating like a coward!" Allelujah wanted to scream at him, but he could feel the raging dark side storm on the other side of the connection. Hallelujah was rough, his voice strained, sounding more like a wild animal. If this was any other planet, the room would have been choked by the darkness. But the void was centered here, where mass death happened tens of thousands of years ago.
Hallelujah and Ribbons fought, the way they fought contrasting. Ribbons, despite his radiating power and wild eyes, made every step and strike with thought and focus, while Hallelujah raged. Hallelujah began to breathe heavily, his yellow eyes radiating fury. The floor was carved by lightsaber blades, the walls suffering the same fate. Hallelujah's slashes and blows began to slow, his tired muscles catching up with him.
Allelujah's voice echoed in their head, "Stop it. You won't win."
"No. I can win." Another slash was parried, nearly sending the lightsaber out of Hallelujah's hands.
"How shameful. So much power, yet so little control." Ribbons smiled at Hallelujah, and with a hard push back, Hallelujah was stopped dead. Ribbons took a confident step forward, his strikes fast like a viper. His motions were smooth and efficient, years of training making it look easy. Hallelujah gritted his teeth and struck out with a short slash, but the inquisitor just knocked the lightsaber away with a free hand.
Hallelujah rolled out of the way, the riposte nearly cutting into his chest. Allelujah tried to speak but was unable to get through as Ribbons launched Hallelujah forward with the force, knocking him on his back, "If you had a few more years, you might have been fun to face. But you might as well be a feral dog to me." The lightsaber scraped on the ground, a few feet from Hallelujah.
Hallelujah reached out with the force, but the lightsaber flew into the hands of Ribbons, who smirked victoriously, "Do you have any last words?" Each step echoed around the room, and Hallelujah was about to speak when Allelujah spoke, time almost freezing.
"We have to become one."
A growl left Hallelujah, "You couldn't win, and I have just gotten started!" Allelujah shook his head at that, watching the desperation on the face of his other side. It radiated from every pore of the entity, and Allelujah took a deep breath
"Then you know what we have to do."
Silence was the only thing that greeted him, and Hallelujah let out a long sigh. It was a long shot, but their only option. Speaking as one, they began to chant.
"There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no fear, there is power.
I am the heart of the force.
I am the revealing fire of light.
I am the mystery of the dark.
In balance with chaos and harmony.
Immortal in the force."
Ribbons could only hear Hallelujah chanting under his breath. There was something strange going on, the body of the warrior facing him slightly glowing. He spoke in a harsh tone, "What is that?" Only silence greeted him as the chant continued, and the force aura around Allelujah glowed brighter, "I demand you tell me what is going on!" Curiosity stayed his hand, watching as a slight wind picked up around the man.
But the two sides no longer heard him. The barrier between them began to knit itself back together, turning back to a smooth pane of glass slowly but surely. Emotions flowed between them, the balance that was no longer there molding and trying to find itself. Raw anger, desperation and aggression flowed into Allelujah, who focused his mind. He let it flow over him, accepting it instead of denying it. Only when one was complete could they be restored.
Hallelujah writhed at the influx of warmth, love and a desire to help. He tried to resist, but the calming presence of the other side began to wash him away. It was unnatural, yet as it increased in power, he closed his eyes. His mind was fading, and he took another breath, looking at the original, "You make sure that he dies here."
"I will." A bright light shone from him, and the flash drove Ribbons back a step, who had to cover his eyes. A brilliant burst of light side filled the room and faded just as fast. As his vision returned, Allelujah was standing up, two grey eyes instead of yellow and grey. There was a calmness that hadn't been there before, a righteous fury tempered by control. Allelujah called his lightsaber to his hand, taking a deep breath. The exhaustion was still there, but he felt whole. That storm that dominated him before no longer held sway.
"Ribbons, you will pay for what you did to me, Tieria and all the innocent people you tortured, Jedi or not. Anything else you want to say?"
"Tell me what you just did!" The man in front of him felt more complete, more in control. Ribbons gripped his lightsaber, the hum filling the air.
"I have fixed what you have broken. I am no longer haunted by you." A grunt left the man, and he raised his lightsaber, and without a word, he taunted the inquisitor, gesturing towards him with two fingers. An anger exploded in the dark side user, and he charged forward, blue meeting red.
Allelujah focused on maintaining his form, pushing back against him. The inquisitor was swinging wide and powerful, much like Hallelujah. Each blow was easier to parry or dodge, easier to predict. Ribbons eyes glowed a brighter yellow, but Allelujah knew not to fear.
Over his comm unit, he heard Tieria's voice, "Get him in the left pod!"
"Understood."
With a new determination, Alleluajh began to subtly guide the battle. While the new power up had restored him to his original connection, he still had to be wary. Ribbons was still a skilled duelist, and he had years on the not even knight. But the Jedi have faced worse odds. Each step forward was a small victory, and each near miss was putting the inquisitor on the backfoot, "You are a worm under my boot!" Allelujah just responded by delivering a kick to the sternum, which Ribbons rolled to recover from.
Sweat dripped down his face as Allelujah saw the two clones staying out of sight. He had no idea why they were working together, but now was not the time to question it. He could see the large pod, and was mere steps as Ribbons broke down more. He was barely speaking, and as he stepped a foot away from the pod, Allelujah sent a force blast at him, knocking the tiring inquisitor in the pod, sending him sprawling onto the ground. The lightsaber flew out of his hands, which Allelujah called to his own.
Regene ran to the console, closing the pod before the man had a chance to do anything. Tieria ran to her side, and looked at it, "What are you going to do?"
"This." She pressed a strange symbol, and a terrifying sucking sound began to grow. A fog filled the chamber, surrounding the panicking Ribbons. He banged on the door, but each bang weakened as his very being seemed to be sucked away. His skin became sallow, shrinking to fit the bone. Allelujah wanted to look away, as he could sense the man's very essence being stripped from him. Tieria looked the man in the eyes as he faded, the slamming stopping as the nightmarish machine slowly wound down.
The only result was an ether in the other chamber, which seemed to float away. All that remained of the main was a drained body, an expression of absolute horror permanently marking it. Allelujah steeled his expression, while Tieria just grunted. His expression gave away little. The man who had made his life a living hell was dead, yet even that death was unsettling. Allelujah looked at his comrade, who just nodded, "Now we leave. We can talk later."
Allelujah could feel the tension from the man but chose to ignore it. He turned to look at Regene, who was leaning heavily against the machine, "Are you coming with us?"
"No. I'm not going to make it." Blood trailed down her side, and she held up the detonator, "This is likely to destroy half this place. I'll blow it up. I'll give you a few minutes." Allelujah didn't suspect it was based on idealism, but his normal sharp senses were dulled by the hole in the force. He nodded, and the pair left the room, Tieria putting his helmet back on. As the door to the chamber slid back open, they could see Anew waiting for them.
"Is he dead?" Her voice was strained, either from the battle or the hope that her tormentor was dead.
"Yes." Tieria continued to walk, "Unless you want to die with the place, I suggest you follow." Anew looked at Allelujah, her training kicking in. There was something different about him, but she didn't have time to examine that. The group ran down the tunnel, soon meeting the injured and exhausted members of their team.
Setsuna had Feldt on his back, and Sergei was supporting Marie. Anew scooped up Lyle, holding up his good side. Marie looked at her lover, and smiled, seeing that he had changed. There was a lightness to his expression she missed before, but Lyle looked to the pair, "Are we done here?"
The Jedi nodded, "As soon as we get out of here, the device should be destroyed. One of Ribbons agents helped us. But Tieria can explain that."
Tieria just nodded, pulling out the other detonator, "It will be in the report. Now move." Everyone moved as fast as they could, grunts of pain coming from the injured. It was an easy way out, especially now that the droids had all been dealt with. As they neared the entrance, no explosion had been heard even though it had been ten minutes. Lyle looked with concern, and Tieria let out a heavy sigh before pressing the detonator.
The building rocked, and the force users all heard a scream, like a parasite had been exorcised. They all gripped their heads, and the building began to shake, falling in on itself starting at the center. The rebels ran out to a safe distance as the whole center of the structure collapsed, coming in on itself. Rocked crumbled and fell, dust scattering as the group covered their faces.
"What was that?" Sergei looked at Tieria.
"I didn't trust Regene one bit, so I had a backup detonator just in case. She's rotting with him." There was an emptiness in his voice, and a tear fell down his face, unseen by the crew, "We won." Lyle just shook his head.
"I'm going to recommend all of us get a break after this, though Sumeragi isn't going to be happy."
