Nazz, Jonny and Danny arrived at Nuvema Town, where Nazz rescued and caught a Caterpie named Flower. Every Team had received fossils alike, each with a different trait. Double Dee had a rematch with Cheren and won, after that, the group rescued two Pokémon, including Bianca's Munna, from Team Plasma (as well as Cheren and Bianca holding the world record trophy of 5 minutes defeating a Team Plasma Duo in one go.)
Exclusive Fresh Scene: Eddy caught a Drilbur nicknamed Crash (as in Crash Bandicoot, because of the Gems it kept digging up. Get it? Gems? Crash? Crash Bandicoot?)
(Chapter 12): Lucky Catch
[The Entralink/Dream/Soul Link]
"For once in my life, I wished it was REAL GEMS!" Eddy blasted the words out his mouth.
"Who knows, Eddy." Double Dee replied. "They could provide a worth to us."
"Shiny and colorful!" Ed played with the gems as he took a whiff of a light brown gem. "Smells like my shirt!"
"You mean dirt?" asked Eddy as he rolled his eyes, annoyed. "Since when does your shirt smell like one of these gems?"
"Aren't these Power Gems?" asked Isabelle, the dog woman from Animal Crossing. "I heard you can power up a Pokémon's move that matches the type of that Gem."
Eddy looked at his collected Gems. "Oh really?! Then how can we tap into its power?!"
"Easy, make your Pokémon hold the Gem." Cece (Splatoon Callie Squirrel) replied to Eddy.
"It's easy as packing a lunch for your buddies." Viché (Splatoon Marie Squirrel) followed along with her cousin. "Mind if Cece and I use your Pokémon in a Double Battle?"
"Sure!" Ed replied as he made Cece pick a Pokémon as Eddy did the same with Viché.
"Beware, Viché! I have Ed on my side!" Cece smirked as she held the Pokéball for Junkie.
"Best not count out the brains and spunk, Cece!" Cece's Cousin replied as she held the Pokéball for Champ.
Double Dee got in the center at the edge of the battlefield so that the lesson battle could commence.
"The Lesson Battle between Ed and Cece Versus Eddy and Viché will begin shortly! The rules are simple, pay attention to everything our guests have to say! Got that note? Alright! Summon your Pokémon!" Double Dee raised a chop.
"Come on, Junkie!" Cece tossed the Luxury Ball with Junkie as the dazzle made the Poison Type Pokémon shine as he was summoned.
"(Alright, are we training?)" asked Junkie.
"No need for the shine when you got skill! Come on out, Champ!" Viché tossed out the Pokéball for Eddy's Riolu.
"(Alright! Training time!)" Champ posed for battle.
"I CALL UPON THE BABY PRINCESS OF THE SEA, PRINCESS MERMAID CRYSTAL!" Ed summoned his Oshawott next to his Trubbish.
"(O - Oh dear...)" Crystal looked timid as she hid behind Ed.
"Alright! Time to fight, Chop!" Eddy summoned his Fire Pig next to his Fighting Type Ace.
"(*Snort* Already up, no need to tell ME when to be ready!)" Chop snorted proudly.
Cece and Viché equipped their teams' Pokémon with their respective colored Gems.
"Hey, Ed! Try attacking Eddy's Pokémon with a Super Effective Move using your Oshawott!" Cece pointed at Eddy's Tepig.
"Alrighty!" Ed rubbed his nose with his finger as he used that same finger and pointed forward. "Baby Mermaid Princess! Attack with Baby Water Cannon!"
Ed ordered an attack via Water Gun.
As Crystal took a deep breath, the Gem near her glowed as she was powered up. Then, Crystal let out a mighty blast of water, almost as strong as her Torrent ability that pushed Chop out of the field!
"(GYAHH!)" The Tepig was washed away in the waves of water, no hopes of taking a turn.
"Hey! What gives!" Eddy looked ticked off.
"You see! The Gem Moves are useful in Super Effective Attacks!" Cece taught Ed.
"Like so, we noticed..." Eddy grumbled. "So it helps us wash away Pokémon in one move, huh? I'm not mad... just mad it has to be one of MY Pokémon..."
"It doesn't matter if it's a Super Effective Move. Just the move typing in general will do quite nicely as long as it matches the type." Viché replied. "Sorry, Ed, but this is where your Pokémon faints! Champ! Attack Crystal with Force Palm!"
"(Take this!)" Champ charged at Crystal as she ducked from the attack, but regardless, when Champ placed his palms on Crystal, he blasted her with strong light, and with even more light, coming from his Gem, blasting Crystal out of the Arena!
"(Ow... ie...)" Crystal dropped to her front as she was knocked out.
"CRYSTAL!" Ed ran up to his Pokémon.
(A mystical aura resonated within the fallen Pokémon, and so, regaining all of the HP lost.)
Crystal and Chop got up from the fall, dizzy from the knockout.
"(My head...)" Crystal and Chop wobbled.
"Oh yeah, I forgot we're in this Dream thingy..." Eddy replied.
"I wish I can control all my dreams like this..." Ed replied with his eyes dilating from each other.
The two squirrel girls giggled at the Ed Boys.
"I guess that concludes the Lesson Battle." Double Dee shrugged.
"You think?" asked Eddy. "Well, I now have an idea what to do now! We're going to use Crash to mine for these Gems! And we're going to horde them for ourselves until there's none left for the others!"
"Thank you for hanging out with us, Squirrel Sisters!" Ed smiled.
"Thank YOU, Ed!" Viché smiled back at Ed as Ed kneeled down for a hug with the two cousins. "Bye bye for now!"
The Ed Boys ran to a portal that Double Dee made to exit the Dream.
[Route 1: Nazz, Jonny, and Danny]
Just another morning on the adventure, in the epicenter of the beginning within Nuvema Town. Wiping away the memories of the pain and joy from the Ed Boys, and the knowledge flowing through Marie's group, Nazz and Jonny were about to start off good in terms of capturing more Pokémon than the others' record of only two, before Accumula Town.
"Ah, yes!" Danny took a deep breath of air from the beginner's field, as he felt energized at the feeling of opening one of the many doors.
"Oooh, look! Jonny!" Nazz pointed at two Pokémon who were walking up to Nazz and Jonny.
"Oh look! It's a dog and a mouse!" Jonny looked excited. "Hey, Nazz! Think we can split the deal?! I keep the mouse and you keep the dog?!"
"I always wanted a puppy!" Nazz squealed in glee. "These Pokémon look so CUTE!"
"What now, Danny?!" asked Jonny. "Do we capture them the same way Nazz did with her bird Pokémon?!"
"Seems so." said Danny. "But don't try to overdo it. It seems that they ae quite weaker than the Pidgeotto we found."
Jonny heard something from Plank.
"Huh?" asked Jonny. "You mean use our Secondary Starter Pokémon?! Why not?!"
"Alright! Let's go! Chuchu!" Jonny summoned his Electric Type Pokémon!
"(Let's rumble!)" Chuchu sparked electricity from her cheeks!
"Alright, then! Let's go! Valkyrie!" Nazz summoned her strongest Pokémon.
"(KYA!)" Valkyrie cried out. "(Who is ready to be- uh...)"
The two small, wild normal type Pokémon looked at Valkyrie as if remembering who she was.
"(Mom?...)" The Patrat and Lillipup looked at Valkyrie.
"(Little Mutt?! Little Rat?! What are you two doing here?! Didn't I told you to stay back?!)" Valkyrie squawked.
"(Why is mommy captured?!)" asked the wild Lillipup.
"(Why was mommy gone?!)" asked the wild Patrat.
"(Because! I told you, I don't need anyone!)" replied Valkyrie in a harsh tone. "(I am an independent Pokémon! And that means surviving on my own! Not two infants who happen to eat off my survival!)"
The two young male Pokémon felt hurt after they did a favor for a Valkyrie. A loud growl came out of the wild Pokémons' bellies.
Nazz observed the behavior coming from her Pokémon.
"Oh dear..." Nazz looked sorry for the Pokémon as kneeled down on her knees with open arms. "Are you two hungry and cold? Come here..."
The Pokémon looked at Nazz as they took a step closer but Valkyrie squawked.
"(TAKE ONE STEP CLOSER AND I'LL MAKE YOUR WORLD A LIVING PAIN!)" Valkyrie threatened.
"Valkyrie!" Nazz shouted at her Bird Pokémon.
"(Quiet, human! I do not obey weaklings!)" Valkyrie squawked as her Pokéball glowed Black.
"Plank says ignore that bird! Come with us!" Jonny replied.
Danny observed how it all unfolded.
The Lillipup and Patrat walked to Nazz and hugged her, feeling her love pour into their broken hearts.
"(I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!)" Valkyrie squawked as she tried attacking Nazz, but Nazz ducked and recalled her bird Pokémon. "(This isn't over!)"
"Sheesh, what an angry dudette..." Nazz frowned at Valkyrie's Pokéball. "It's okay, little dudes! We're on your side!"
Nazz pets both wild Pokémon as they smile.
Jonny picked up Patrat as the rodent squeaked.
"Boy! This is one cute Pokémon!" Jonny snuggled with Patrat, who giggled with Jonny. "Would you two like to come with us?!"
The Pokémon nodded at Jonny's question.
"Alright!" Danny replied. "Capture them!"
Those words shocked the wild Pokémon as they got feral and attacked Jonny and Nazz.
"OW!" Jonny and Nazz jumped back.
"(Don't capture me!)" Lillipup barked.
"(I'll never be captured!)" Patrat hissed.
"Oh well, at least we tried..." Jonny sighed.
"Don't give up!" Danny yelled from afar. "Capture them!"
"Oh yeah!" Nazz took out a Pokéball. "We still have a battle! Let's go, Evo!"
Nazz summoned her male Eevee by tossing her Pokéball which released Evo as a Pokémon from a burst of white light!
"(Let's go!)" Evo barked.
(Battle Begin!)
"Chuchu! Thundershock!" Jonny pointed forward.
Nazz pointed forward as well. "Evo! Tackle attack!"
The battle split in half as Nazz and Jonny looked forward to their respective foes, Lillipup and Patrat!
"(Heeee...)"Chuchu took a bit of time to charge herself and then blasted a line of electricity at Patrat. "(YAAAAA!)"
Patrat winced at the pain as his body twitched from the jolt!
"(Here I come!)" Evo charged head first into Lillipup as Lillipup took some damage and was pushed back. Evo returned to his mistress and faced the wild Lillipup in battle.
The two wild Pokémon then charged with Tackle at their respective foes, damaging the two Pokémon by a medium sized chunk!
"Chuchu! Are you okay?!" asked Jonny as he listened to Plank. "What do you mean pain is inevitable?!"
"I think what your imaginary friend meant to say is that your Pokémon may always have a chance at being hurt." Danny replied. "Trust me! Pokémon just don't sit still after one attack. They fight to protect themselves and not just for retaliation."
"I see..." Nazz replied. "Well, at least we weakened them! Let's catch them, now!"
"Alright!" Jonny took out an empty Pokéball like Nazz did as she got hers out.
"GO! POKÉBALL!" Nazz and Jonny tossed their empty Pokéball onto the wild Pokémon as they get tapped and sucked into the Pokéballs, as they close!
The Pokéballs landed on the ground. Shaking around once... twice.. and thrice! DING!
The Pokéball bursted out with stars as the wild Pokémon were caught!
Nazz and Jonny ran to their respective Pokéballs with glee and picked them up!
"We did it!" Jonny shouted out.
"A new Pokémon for our teams!" Nazz winked at Jonny. "I have my new little Buddy!"
"Nice nickname!" said Jonny. "As for my Pokémon, he is named Scout! Scout the... What was he?"
"Apparently, the puppy Pokémon is a Lillipup and the rodent you caught is a Patrat. Check your Pokédexes for more info." Danny replied.
"Jeez, Danny!" Jonny admired Danny's wisdom. "You're a nice tour guide!"
"It's only common sense, no need to praise me, but keep going if you want." Danny chuckled. "Well, then, let's keep going!"
"There's no time to lose! We gotta get to Kevin, Rolf, the Kanker and the Eds before it's too late!" Nazz pointed forward into Accumula Town. "Hurry!"
The trio then ventured off into the next part of civilization close to the wilderness.
[Wellspring Cave: The Eds Boys]
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
BAWKAW! SUMO DO WA! HEEHAW!
The Ed Boys were digging such an enormous rate of Elemental Gems!
..
(There was 30 of each gem, due to the enormous amount of grinding on the simulator.)
...
Upon the deal, it went: 2 for the Monkeys, and 2 for the Starter Pokémon, the excess amounts of Gems shall be used however they'd like. HOWEVER! It would only mean that the Ed boys have two weapons with two loaded in the chamber, by expression, so they have to make four taps count, and furthermore, they were for emergencies like Team Plasma, Gym Leaders, and if able, then an escape from Kevin and his group.
"My, my!" Double Dee was stunned at the collected Gems. "What a marvelous collection of Element Crystals! We're certainly at an increasing rate of success!"
"And it's a good thing that I found Crash!" Eddy looked at his new Pokémon, who was still ready to dig while the Ed Boy's Pokémon defended Crash and their owners.
The cave, or at least the small remains of land that the Ed Boys fought Team Plasma on, was drained of minerals.
"Alright, boys!" Eddy reported. "Like Sockhead said before, the land is exhausted! We'll be back for you, baby!"
"Hey, guys!" Ed came back to the group, holding a Black Disc. "I found a Funky CD!"
Double Dee looked at Ed's Disc, and his eyes widened. "Ed! That's not just a Black Disc! That's a Technical Machine!"
"Way to go, Lumpy! That's a TM, right?" Eddy patted his tall friend. "Which one is that one? I mean, we have one that cuts trees, one that pumps up our Pokémon, what does that one do?"
"THAT'S MY CD!" Ed grabbed onto the CD while Eddy tried grabbing, making all three Eds held onto the Disc Machine. The boys wrestled for the Disc, tumbling all around the cave.
Crash was staring at the boys as soon as the boys were tumbling like tumbleweeds.
"GIMME!" "MY DISC!" "ED, LET GO!" "STOP IT!"
Crash laughed and clapped his claws, happily.
"(Ooh ooh ooh ooh!)" Berry talked to his monkey pals. "(Human funny!)"
"(Human funny! Hee hee!)" Blue giggled at her owner.
"(Is this what they have to deal with everyday?)" asked Chop.
"(Beats me, bud.)" Replied Champ.
"(What impeccable timing for a fight...)" Phil sighed.
"(WACHA SAWA MA KAYA!)" Crash detected someone from behind and posed for a fight.
The Pokémon looked at the incoming individuals, and it was Bianca and Raven, who looked kind of concerned.
The boys kept fighting with each other until Ed got the TM. "I got it!"
"What are you boys up to?!" asked Raven.
"Hey, back off, this is our mineshaft! Get your own cave!" Eddy barked at the girls, which the girls saw Crash being tired of digging, earning Bianca's anger.
"So YOU HAVE been abusing your Pokémon!" Bianca's aura flared with anime flames. "You have been abusing your Pokémon to be stronger than ours! Not if I have to say anything about it! Munna! Dream Eat them!"
Bianca summoned her Dream Eater Pokémon who charged and bit all of the Ed Boys' Xtranceivers in the Dream Button!
"GAH!" The Ed boys watched in horror as their devices became haywire! As Double Dee held the TM from Ed, and his eyes glowed, losing his sanity and becoming a mindless robot.
"Lights... are fading..." Double Dee dozed off to sleep.
"DOUBLE DEE!" Eddy and Ed looked terrified of what happened to Double Dee. They turned to Bianca and Raven, holding some Pokéballs.
"What have you done to Double Dee!" Ed barked.
"W - What I should've done before when I got stronger!" Bianca felt a bit of fear from Ed, but toughened up to stand for what she believed was right. "I knew I should've let daddy defeat you! But now, here we are!"
"Guess we'll finish you off, you and Raven!" Eddy frowned.
Raven frowned back at Eddy. "You DON'T want problems with me! I'm stronger than ever before!"
"PROVE IT!" Eddy barked.
"YOU'RE NOT SCARED?!" Raven looked concerned for Eddy, considering the fact that Axew had grown a lot.
"Why would we be afraid of Dragons?!" Eddy smirked. "I have my aces with me! And most importantly... CRYSTALS! It's time, Ed!"
"Ahoy Mateys!" Ed posed his fingers like a hook. "Allow ye feel fears quivering in yer stomachs like cold gravy!"
"You'll regret your decision, Ed Boys!" Raven prepared. "Whatever, your funeral... Go! Oshawott!"
"Let's go! Snivy!" Bianca sent out her ace along with Raven.
"(Howdy... Pokémon abusers...)" Oshawott gave a harsh greeting.
"(It's time to punish you!)" Snivy hissed at the two Pokémon Trainers in front.
"Come on out, Chop!" Eddy threw his Pokéball, while tossing Spare Gems from their Collection.
"Baby Mermaid Princess! Lend us your power!" Ed summoned his ace with Eddy.
"(Punish who?!)" asked Chop. "(You will be the ones who will be punished!)"
"(W - Why are we fighting again?)" asked Crystal as a Fire and Water Gem resonated within them.
"You made your Pokémon dig for Gems?!" Bianca was shocked. "You monsters!"
"Monsters?!" asked Eddy. "We just saved some girl's Pokémon from Team Plasma! Who are YOU calling monsters?!"
"No more talking!" Raven warned. "Oshawott! Wash away Eddy's Tepig with Water Gun!"
"Snivy! Sweep Ed's Oshawott with Vine Whip!" Bianca pointed forward with Raven!
"(This ends now!)" The two foe Pokémon attacked with all of their might, badly hurting Chop and Crystal!
"(Graah!)" Chop and Crystal were pushed back with a lot of damage until they wee in the Red Zone, activating Blaze and Torrent, respectively!
"It's time!" The Ed Boys called out.
"Chop! Ember on Snivy!" Eddy called out.
"Mermaid Princess! Water Splasher on your impostor!" Ed followed along.
The Gems levitated as they zapped the Ed Boys' Pokémon with Gem Powers! The two Pokémon blasted their attacks and easily knocked the enemy aces out with a devastating blow of Fire and Water, via Ember and Water Gun!
"(GYAAH!)" Snivy and Oshawott fell to their trainers' feet as the two female trainers were shocked.
"How's that for power?!" asked Eddy with a smirk. "You can say that one's... CRYSTAL CLEAR! Hahah!"
"This isn't over yet!" Bianca gritted her teeth, "Munna! Dream Eater on Double Dee!"
"(I'm sorry for this...)" Munna replied as she got on Double Dee's head and chomped on his head.
"AAAAAACK!" Double Dee screamed as he calmed down... "... So... cold..."
"Hang on, Double Dee!" Ed told his best pal. "We'll free you from these princesses of evil like Team Plasma!"
"Who are you comparing us to Team Plasma?!" Raven felt offended. Sure, maybe the Ed Boys may not be the brightest, but this was the only way to test their bonds with their Pokémon.
"You may not look like one, but whatever you are, we'll make you wish you released your Pokémon first!" Eddy warned. "Chop! Return!"
"Come back, Baby Crystal!" Ed and Eddy recalled their tired aces and took out another Pokéball. "Go! Junkie!"
"Go get 'em, Champ!" Eddy called forth his Fighting Type Ace with Ed!
"(Need some pounding time?!)" The Riolu cracked his knuckles.
"(Time to get crafty!)" Junkie burped.
"(Ugh!..)" Champ looked at his Poison Type ally in disgust.
Eddy tossed two more Gems in front of his Team's Pokémon!
"Serve 'em up, Ed!" Eddy gave Ed advice. "Serve them good!"
"One Tuna Sandwich coming up!" Ed replied with his eyes dilating from each other with a salute.
"Not today, you Pokémon Abusers!" Bianca warned. "Lillipup! Let's go!"
"Axew! Come on out!" Raven called out his Dragon Ace!
"(Bow bow! You're through!)" The tough puppy barked.
"(Come at us, if you dare!)" Axew warned the Fighting and Poison Types.
"Axew! Dual Chop at Riolu!" Raven commanded.
"Here we go again..." Eddy warned.
"What?" asked Raven.
"What do you mean, what? Haven't you learned from the same mistake before?!" asked Eddy. "Whatever.. Chop! Counter it!"
As Axew gave devastating blows to the Fighting Type, Riolu paid it back double with a swift knee swipe to the jaw!, kicking the Dragon Type Pokémon all the way back, weak!
"Lillipup! Attack-!" Bianca was about to attack.
Then Eddy made a plan.
"Oh no!" Eddy faked a panic. "A Normal Type Pokémon! Not anywhere near my Fighting Type Pokémon, please!"
"That's it!" Bianca looked like she had an idea. "Lillipup! Tackle attack on Eddy's Riolu!"
"(Arf arf!)" Lillipup ran after Champ and hit his HP to the Red Zone.
"Hey! That wasn't super effective! You're cheating, Eddy!" Bianca fumed.
"Nuh uh! Not according to Rule 92.2A!" Eddy pulled out a Rule Chart from a Newspaper. "You may also toy with the foe's mind as long as it doesn't hurt the foe in battle! Your fault for being an idiot! At least Lumpy has some muscle when it comes to carrying out his plans!"
"Yeah! I was once a supervillain! But watch as we become superheroes!" Ed smirked with pride while thrusting his hand out. "Junkie! Acid Juice on the Dragon!"
"(Taste Crystal Power!)" Junkie exhaled out some Acid Juice, via Acid Spray. fueled by the Poison Gem, and finished off the Dragon Type Pokémon.
"(This stinks...)" The Dragon Type Pokémon mustered out as she fainted.
"No! Axew!... ... Return..." Raven recalled her Dragon Type as she took out one last Pokéball. "I know this hasn't been a lucky day, but I promise I won't let you down... ... OCTAVIO!"
Raven sent out her Ace as Octavio woke up.
"(Okay... Who upset my mistress?! You'll have a bad time!)" Octavio looked a bit furious.
"Champ! Attack with Force Palm on Lumpy Girl's Lillipup!" Eddy pointed to the Puppy Pokémon as Champ finished off the Normal Type Pokémon!
"HEY!" Bianca looked defeated.
"Hey, Eddy! Why don't we finish this one on one?!" asked Raven. "You and I have four Pokémon each! Why don't we make this the final bullet in the chamber?!"
"You're on!" Eddy took the bet.
"Be careful, Eddy..." Ed recalled his Trubbish as Bianca recalled her Puppy Pokémon. Ed then ran to Double Dee to aid him. "Hang on, Double Dee! Eddy will get us out!"
"Final one!" Eddy sighed. "You ready, Crash?!"
"(WACHA MASAKAYA!)" Crash appeared out of nowhere and not from his Pokéball, ready for battle!
"(So you're the Criminal's final hope! I hope you can live with yourself, creep!)" Octavio leaped up and down.
(Starting: Solo Battle!)
(Rules: No Pokémon Trainer Commands, No Items, ONLY WAR!)
(READY?!... SET... GO!)
And so, the two Pokémon started the battle without their owners.
"What the heck?! Crash! What are you doing?! Come back here!" Eddy ordered.
"This is a solo battle, Eddy!" Raven explained. "A Pokémon's heart can express the battle for now! Let's see who wins on their own!"
"YOU GOT THIS, CRASH!" Ed cheered for Eddy's Miner.
(Crash used Fury Swipes at the Ground!)
(Octavio used Uproar at the Cave!)
Octavio roared loud, so loud, that he woke up the Pokémon that surrounded Crash and Octavio, making the Pokémon trainers worried.
(Octavio achieved Enemy Rally!)
Crash dug his claws at the ground, digging up mud blobs until he hit the jackpot. He then tossed the dozens of Gems at Octavio, hurting him for every hard rock or crystal tossed at him!
(Crash achieved Rock/Crystal Throw!)
"(No more fooling around!)" Octavio sounded off a huge scream that made the Woobats and Roggenrola charged at Crash.
"(EEP!)" Crash ran around and used a fusion of Mud-Slap and Rapid Spin to knock away the Bats and Smash away the Rocks!
A Woobat came diving for Crash, but Crash used Rapid Spin to knock them to Octavio as Octavio usee Uproar to blast them back at Crash! And so it became a game of Ping Pong, as the cycle of them bouncing back at Octavio and Crash became faster, until eventually, outspun Octavio and tossed the Woobat all the way to him, knocking him down and earning a mob of Woobat torturing him with nose smooches!
After the attack, Octavio got out, but was weak.
