In the DreamWorld, Double Dee tests his homework and Dexter reveals a plan for the Trio. Meanwhile, Sarah and Jimmy teamed up with Sabrina, a class member, on a quest to Unova with two Clamperl evolutions. Meanwhile, Vincent, another class member, meets the remainder of the Kanker Sisters.
(Chapter 16: One Surprise to Another)
[Striaton City: Kevin, Rolf and Marie]
Taking a break from the training at the Dreamyard, and the Gym Challenge before the Gym Leader, Kevin, Rolf and Marie played with their Pokémon they caught at the Dreamyard.
For Marie, she caught herself a Purrloin, right when the Purrloin was easily available at the Dreamyard.
For Rolf and Kevin, it was a whole different story.
You see, they caught two different Pokémon each.
Kevin caught a dog and a pig, well, technically, a tapir Pokémon. Rolf caught a sheep and a tadpole. And according to… them, Rolf and Kevin were the strongest out of the group of Cul-de-sac Kids. Marie, however, was on a league of her own, but this did not separate the trio apart for they knew as long as they put their mind to it, they could defeat anyone.
In all efforts to train, Kevin and Rolf had to capture more Pokémon. Marie was playing with her Purrloin when she observed the Pokémon that the Cul-de-sac Boys had.
The Dog was black with a red underside and his muzzle was also red. He had white rings around his legs. He also had a skull-like helmet on his head and rib bones on his back.
The Tapir was a tapir-like Pokémon that was mostly yellow. The bottom half of his body was covered in mud, as if he was bathing in it. When the Tapir used Psychic Powers, its eyes glow a light blue.
The Sheep appeared to be a blue sheep with wool surrounding most of her body. She also possessed black and yellow stripes on her tail and her ears. The Sheep Pokémon also possessed an orange orb at the end of her tail.
The last Pokémon was a Tadpole Pokémon. She was so soft her organs were actually visible. She also has trouble walking on her feet due to her lack of arms which causes her to be unbalanced. The swirl on her belly is her internal organs showing through. If the swirl is tinged, that means it's affected by some disease, and they could tell when Rolf fed her some Flesh and Fat Curry that went bad, though luckily, it quickly healed.
Marie then scanned the Pokémon in front of the two boys.
"Houndour, the Dark Pokémon. It is smart enough to hunt in packs. It uses a variety of cries for communicating with others. Around dawn, its ominous howl echoes through the area to announce that this is its territory."
"Drowzee, the Hypnosis Pokémon. It can tell what people are dreaming by sniffing with its big nose. It loves fun dreams. If you sleep by it all the time, it will sometimes show you dreams it has eaten in the past."
"Mareep, the Wool Pokémon. When cold weather increases static electricity, its wool doubles in size and the tip of its tail glows slightly. Its fluffy coat swells to double when static electricity builds up. Touching it can be shocking."
"Poliwag, the Tadpole Pokémon. Its skin is so thin, its internal organs are visible. It has trouble walking on its newly grown feet. The direction of the spiral on the belly differs by area. It is more adept at swimming than walking."
"Hey, Marie!" Kevin looked at Marie. "Are you ready to take on the Gym Challenge?!"
"Well, I am, just don't worry about me. I have lots of things to worry about today…" Marie sighed.
"In case Pocket Monster Possessed Kanker Girl wants to join us, we'll be at the Gymnasium for Battles of the Pocket Monsters." Rolf replied. "If it was about those White Robe people who showed up in the place called a Lab, then don't worry for Rolf will defend you from those hooligans!"
"It's okay, Rolf. I, too, need to train." Marie nodded at Rolf and his kind gesture. "And lately, I've been finding out the true origins of my Pokémon."
"And what might that tie to?" Asked Rolf as Kevin walked away and headed to the store section of the Pokémon Center.
"Well you see… Oh, nevermind! You probably won't get it…" Marie sighed.
"What baffles Rolf is what secret Kanker Girl is not showing Rolf. But it's fine if Dark Side Kanker Girl wants to keep it a secret." Rolf understood. "Not everything has to be shared like the fungus infection of Nana's ToeNails to the rest of her family tree."
Marie looked away from Rolf with an awkward face.
"Yeah… Thanks for cheering me up… Rolf…" Marie sighed.
Rolf shrugged as he got to Kevin, both of them agreeing to share the berries Rolf farmed.
Marie sighed, but she was greeted with Bonesaw, Kevin's Houndour.
"(Arf! What is wrong with your spirit?)" Asked the curious dog.
"(Hey, back off, Bone Breath! She's mine!)" Sassy, Marie's Purrloin, hissed at the dog.
"(Don't make me ruin your combed fur!)" The Dark Pokémon growled at the Cat Pokémon.
"(Don't you DARE!)" Sassy hissed.
"It's okay, calm down, you two!" Marie pets the two Dark Type Pokémon as Sassy purred and Bonesaw pant. "There you go. Not everything has to be solved with war. I just need to be working on getting better at renewing myself for everyone around me."
Kevin came back to the trio as the three recalled their Pokémon. "Alright, locked and loaded, let's get that badge and catch up to those dorks!"
"Again with the Duck word, Kevin Boy…" Rolf looked concerned for the Jock. (Joke taken by Fire King Atlas)
'Whatever…" Kevin shrugged.
[Summary before going into a Cutscene of the Dreamyard]
Kevin, Rolf and Marie were training in the Dreamyard, taking a break from their broadcasted challenge as the Battles became so heavy, that the Pokémon couldn't bear any further of the work alone.
Kevin looked at the midday light inside the Dreamyard. It was a good time to relax, but as he looked to his left, Marie was taking a nap.
Rolf looked at the Kanker in sheer disappointment. "Nap Time Kanker Girl, now's not the time to-!"
"Let her sleep, dude!" Kevin argued.
"Rolf disagrees with Hot Shot Kevin Boy!" Rolf argued back. "What Kanker Girl needs is to prepare! Rolf senses do not lie when he KNOWS how strong The Brothers of a Restaurant will be!"
As the two argued, Marie started to have a nightmare about her life, given so by her Parasite, Spirit, Marie's Gastly.
Suddenly, a Pokémon appeared to try to eat Marie's Dreams, but since it was a nightmare, it tasted rotten, making it gag.
"(Gah!)" The Pokémon held his throat in gagging with utter disgust.
Marie still slept, but she had no memory of her nightmare.
Rolf and Kevin looked at Marie and saw that she was under attack.
"Marie! Look Out!" Shouted Kevin as he and Rolf took out their Pokéballs and summoned their Ace Pokémon, Shellshock and Wilfred Jr, respectively.
"(Not another trainer attack…)" Shellshock spat into the grass.
"(Regardless, here I come!)" Wilfred Jr spoke out.
"Wilfred Jr! Blast the Feral Monsters with some Fire!" Rolf ordered, via Ember.
"(Taste flames!)" Rolf's Tepig snorted some embers onto the mystery Pokémon. Which was revealed to be a Drowzee.
"What the-?!" Kevin looked into the Pokémon and saw that it must be that Hypno the Gengar once told, as he scanned the Pokémon with his Pokédex, and found out that it was just the Pre-Evolution. "Huh… Well, NO ONE gets away with beating my friends! But since you have potential, I'm gonna catch you!"
"(Curses!)" The Drowzee used his Psychic Powers to lift up Shellshock and Wilfred Jr into the air and pushed them a few meters back.
What Wilfred Jr landed on was another Pokémon, but this one cushioned his landing.
"(Uh oh…)" Wilfred Jr looked at who he landed on, and the Pokémon attacked.
Rolf scanned the Pokémon in awe. It was of course, the Wool Pokémon, Mareep. But then another batch of Pokémon surrounded Rolf's Team as Kevin saw this, too.
"Wilfred Jr! We must protect the team, at all costs!" Rolf ordered.
"(My muscles ache…)" Wilfred Jr complained.
"I know it's hard fighting, but Rolf has faith in you! Promise Rolf in times of need, you'll protect Rolf and his Friends…" Rolf made a pact on his Pokémon as the situation looked dire. "Promise Rolf!"
"(Fine!)" Wilfred Jr barked as Stinger came out and appeared to battle.
"(I'll join, too!)" Stinger joined in and spread his wings., and prepared his stingers!
Stinger was an insect-like Pokémon with the appearance of a very large wasp. However, unlike a wasp, Stinger only had four limbs, with the front-most limbs featuring two large, lance-like stingers. A third stinger was located on his rear end.
It impressed Rolf of how much training it took to make Stinger from a Worm into this Pokémon. But just to refresh his mind, he used his Pokédex on all of the Pokémon.
"Beedrill, the Poison Bee Pokémon. Its best attack involves flying around at high speed, striking with poison needles, then flying off.Beedrill is extremely territorial. No one should ever approach its nest - this is for their own safety. If angered, they will attack in a furious swarm."
"Let's go!" Rolf charged with his Pokémon.
Following this, Kevin summoned Bass.
"(Pain Machine, rolling out…)" Bass spoke mechanically, learning some things from Kevin. But it was tackled by a Houndour.
"Bass!" Kevin was shocked, but then capitalized off this attack. "Use Thunder Wave on the Mutt!"
"(Discharge, activate…)" Bass zapped the wild Houndour as the Pokémon whimpered in pain.
The Drowzee got up and charged at Kevin's Team.
"(Come at me!)" Shellshock attacked Drowzee with a Water Gun Attack!
Suddenly, Wilfred Jr got attacked by some water, which Stinger quickly dealt with the attacker's next attack.
As Marie woke up from an empty dream, she woke up with no memory, and then saw her allies attacking some Pokémon. Suddenly, a Purrloin tried attacking Marie.
Marie quickly got up and summoned her Pokémon.
"(What the-?!)" Spirit looked astonished by the Pokémon in front of him. "(What is the meaning of this?!)"
"I'm under attack and you couldn't have warned me?!" Marie frowned at her Pokémon. "How about next time make me sleep at an appropriate time!"
"(Fine!!)" Spirit was ready to take orders. "(What can I do for you?!)"
"Try Hypnosis!" Marie ordered.
"(Order up!)" The Gastly looked into Purrloin's eyes as the Purrloin fell asleep. "(What's next?)"
"Go! Pokéball!" Marie threw a spare Pokéball as it made a metal clang sound that instantly caught the Feline Pokémon! "Yes!"
Marie picked up the Pokéball with her new Pokémon as she then summoned her entire team!
Marie observed that Kevin and Rolf struggled with their Double Battles and so she jumped in and helped them.
And before they knew it, Marie, Rolf and Kevin caught more Pokémon. Each one out of breath from avoiding attacks and giving commands to other Pokémon. They gave each other a small smile before recalling their Pokémon and leaving the Dreamyard before it got too dangerous.
[Back at the Pokémon Center: Marie, Kevin and Rolf]
Rolf was farming berries, while watching TV, and even though it wasn't like his old TV, it was sort of colorful, seeing shows he had never seen before. With a collection of items used to craft a Mulch for his Berries, he made something to multiply the Berries in numbers by 20, in total, 20, or 40 to 60 berries, more or less.
Kevin looked at the money he got from the Dreamyard Trainers, and decided to treat his allies for their hard work.
"Hey, Rolf. Marie. How about some lunch at the restaurant while we wait for the Gym Leaders to come back?" Asked Kevin.
"Well, why not?" Asked Marie.
"Rolf shall take a break from farming to enjoy a satisfying meal!" Rolf complied with the deal.
And so, the three and their eleven Pokémon went to the Striaton City Gym to enjoy a meal.
[Nacrene City: The Ed Boys]
The Ed Boys had woken up from the Dream with Dexter and his Family, along with being split apart from each other for a few seconds.
"Remind me NOT to sleep in the same room as Lumpy, again!" Eddy gritted his teeth.
"I just wanted a glass of water..." Ed drooped.
"It's fine, Ed. Just next time, try not to go sleepwalking in the middle of Entralinking." Double Dee told Ed as all three of them entered inside the Half Gym and Half Museum. "It's far too dangerous."
"I can't help it, Double Dee…" Ed sighed as he got up, and suddenly, he was hit with a spritz of Dream Fumes, and remembered the fossils. "The Rocks…"
"The Rocks?" Double Dee and Eddy looked at Ed, concerned about him.
"The Rocks… They want to lend us their power!" Ed took out the fossils; A Cover Fossil, a Plume Fossil and an Old Amber. "Yes… I sense their power… Buried underneath stone… We must save them!"
Eddy looked at Double Dee and gestured that Ed lost it.
"Why, Ed. NO ONE has the technology to bring back anything extinct, let alone in a fossil." Double Dee told Ed.
"Then how are we supposed to harness the power of the Rocks?!" Ed moped a bit.
"Excuse me?" Said the Museum Receptionist Lady to the Right of the Ed Boys.
"May we help you, Ma'am?" Double Dee asked.
"I am researching Pokémon Fossils here." Said the Lady. "You have a fossil, don't you? Shall I turn it into a Pokémon?"
Eddy looked at his group as he bursted out laughing. "THAT… has got to be the BEST scam I ever heard! Bringing stuff back to life! That's rich!"
"Why, yes!" Ed begged the Lady. "Bring the power back to life!"
"Finally, someone who believes me!" The Lady smiled at Ed. "I shall turn this into a Pokémon!"
Ed gave the Plume Fossil to the Lady as she took it and went inside the room. And suddenly, there was the sounds of bubbling, electricity and s cry of a Pokémon and it was silenced by the sound of a Pokéball.
Eddy and Double Dee were puzzled by the sounds of the room, as the Lady came back with a Pokéball. She smiled as she gave the Pokéball to Ed.
"The Fossil you gave me has turned back into a Pokémon. This is Archen! Take good care of her." The Lady gave Ed the First Revived Fossil Pokémon of the Unova Region.
"Yeah, Lumpy! Take good care of the rock brought to life!" Eddy kept laughing.
"Well then, how about we look at you, Archen?" Ed summoned his so-called Fossil Pokémon, and to the Ed Boys' surprise, the Fossil really WAS a Pokémon.
Archen was a bipedal red, yellow, and blue feathered prehistoric bird-like Pokémon with a large red beak with protruding fangs, 3-taloned feet and a blue tail. She was covered mainly in yellow feathers, with some red and blue plumage on her wings and tail. The back of her head was blue, and she had large round eyes with black pupils. She had claws on its wing-like hands.
"CH - CH -CH - CH - CHICKEN!!" Ed grabbed his Archen and squeezed her in a hug.
"(MEAT!!)" The Pokémon squawked.
Double Dee grabbed his Pokédex and scanned Ed's fossil Pokémon out of fascination.
"Archen, the First Bird Pokémon. Said to be an ancestor of bird Pokémon, they were unable to fly and moved about by hopping from one branch to another. It was revived from an ancient fossil."
"Amazing!" Double Dee marveled at the sight of a Fossil Pokémon coming to life.
"THE ROCKS BLESSED ME WITH A CHICKEN!!" Ed yelled in joy.
"(Meat?)" Archen looked into Ed as she was hugged by Ed in a bear hug.
"What will you nickname your Pokémon?" Asked the Lady.
Ed thought about it and smiled once a lightbulb lit up in his imagination. Ed called out and hugged his Fossil Pokémon. "Pompom! The Ancient Chicken!"
"Birds…" Eddy groaned as he rolled his eyes.
"There's more than one Rock, guys." Ed replied as he gave the Cover Fossil to Double Dee and an Old Amber to Eddy.
"Hey! Since when YOU picked my fossil?!" Eddy barked at Ed.
"Well, then." Double Dee took his fossil to the Lady. "I would like this Fossil revived, please, if you don't mind."
"Of course, I don't mind!" The Lady smiled as she took the fossil and headed into the room, with the same sounds of the room that made Ed's fossil alive with a cry of the Pokémon being born.
"Here you go, young man. This is Tirtouga! Please take care of him." The Lady smiled as she gave Double Dee his new Pokémon in a Pokéball. Double Dee summoned his Pokémon from the capsule and was surprised.
Tirtouga was a reptilian Pokémon that resembled a sea turtle. His body was mainly deep blue, and he bore a black/blue shell on his back. His skin was a lighter blue, with his face covered in a marking that was the same color as his shell. He had more of these markings in the middle of its fins.
"Wow, Double Dee got something he might like!" Ed smiled as he held Pompom in his arms.
Eddy scanned the Pokémon with his Pokédex.
"Tirtouga, the Prototurtle Pokémon. About 100 million years ago, these Pokémon swam in oceans. It is thought they also went on land to attack prey. Restored from a fossil, this Pokémon can dive to depths beyond half a mile."
"THE ROCKS HAVE BLESSED DOUBLE DEE WITH A TURTLE!" Ed laughed and snuggled with Pompom.
"Big deal!" Eddy said with a cocky attitude. "I betcha mine will be a lot cooler!"
Double Dee tried reasoning with Eddy. "Well, I'm sure each Fossil has a unique trait of-"
"Revive mine into a Powerful Pokémon!" Eddy demanded the Lady.
"Well.. of course if you hand over your fossil." Said the Lady.
Eddy obliged as he handed the Lady the Old Amber.
The same process was made when Eddy heard the cry of a Dragon Pokémon. He was getting really overjoyous.
The Lady came back with Eddy's new Pokémon. "Here you go, Sir. This is Aerodactyl! Please take good care of him." The Lady gave Eddy his Fossil Pokémon.
"Yes! I got a dragon!" Eddy yelled in joy. "Come on out!"
Aerodactyl was a pterosaur-like Pokémon. He had an arrowhead-shaped point at the tip of his tail, a cone-shaped spike on his back, purplish-gray skin, and a lower jaw full of sharp teeth.
"What the heck?! Is this a dragon?" Asked Eddy. "NO WAY this is a dragon!"
Ed scanned Eddy's Pokémon with his Pokédex, which was covered in filth.
"Aerodactyl, the Fossil Pokémon. A savage Pokémon that died out in ancient times. It was resurrected using DNA taken from amber. It was Pokémon that roamed the skies in the dinosaur era. Its teeth are like saw blades."
"THE ROCKS BLESSED EDDY WITH A DRAGON!" Ed yelled with joy.
Eddy inspected his Aerodactyl with his own Pokédex. "IT'S NOT A DRAGON! I GOT SCAMMED!!"
This hurt Eddy's Aerodactyl a bit.
"Why yes, it may not be a dragon, but legend has it that the Johto Champion used an Aerodactyl on his team to represent the Dragon Power it influenced based on the fact that it's Indestructible." Said the Lady who got the spirits up. "Perhaps I can lend you an item that helps you for battle."
"Like what?!" Eddy crossed his arms.
"I heard you got access to Entralink, so here's something to help you train those fossils." Said the Lady as Eddy was given a Free Rock Gem.
"Ooh!" Eddy took the Rock Gem. "Don't mind if I do!"
"Sleep with the Gem to train with your Aerodactyl in unimaginable ways like the Johto Champion." Said the Lady. "Now, I hope you don't mind, but I think there's a Gym Challenge to be ready for?"
"Oh yeah, the Gym Challenge!" The Ed Boys replied altogether.
"Well, thank you very much for the revival of the fossils, Ma'am." Double Dee bowed his head slightly.
"May the Rocks bless your days, forever!" Said Ed as the Ed Boys left for the Gym Entrance that was in the back of the Museum, where Hawes was waiting.
"Ah, I see you're back and stronger!" Said Hawes. "I knew training at MT Wheel was worth it!"
"Indeed it has!" Double Dee replied with a smile.
"Take my word, if you fought Lenora ALONE with NO TRAINING, you would've been STUCK!" Said Hawes. "I just wish I could've been stronger. But then again, I'm happy being the Husband of the greatest Gym Leader!"
"Yeah, you do you, buddy." Eddy shrugged. "Now tell me, are we ready?"
"Well, that's not for me to answer. You three look ready and prepared as ever!" Said Hawes. "Of course you may enter, though I wish you good luck!"
[Interior of Nacrene Gym: The Ed Boys]
Inside the Gym was a Library with much room. Something felt odd about this place. Where was the Gym Leader?
"Further into the museum, a Pokémon gym awaits challengers... Atmospheric, don't you think?" Guido appeared, surprising the Eds." That said, take this!"
[The Ed Boys received 6 Servings of Fresh Water! 3 in Bottles and 3 in disposable cups, as usual.]
[Fresh Water: Water with a high mineral content. It restores the HP of one Pokémon by 50 points.]
[Flavored Text: Get thirsty!]
The Ed Boys drank their water cups as they stored the other Drinks into their inventory. Specifically, their Medicine Pockets of their Backpacks.
"Alright, fully hydrated for our next battles!" Double Dee reflected his status after drinking the Fresh Water.
"This gym is full of Trainers that use normal-type Pokémon." Guido told the secret he learned. "And just between us... Normal-type is weak to fighting. And you're sure to find some fighting-type Pokémon near Pinwheel Forest, so…"
"Yeah, I already have TWO OF THEM!" Eddy told Guido. "Chop and Champ! The Dojo Masters!"
"Ah, I see your Tepig has evolved since the last time I've seen it!" Guido smiled at Eddy. "Now, let me explain the gym itself! To proceed through this gym, you must answer questions hidden in books. By the way, the first book to look for is 'Hello, My Pokémon.' Whenever you're not sure where a book is, listen to what everyone has to say!"
"Okay." Double Dee smiled as he faced his friends. "So listen up, we must find the book we need for the answers. If we have to, battle anyone who wants to fight, since I'M SURE anyone in a gym is itching for a battle."
"Fine, then let's find that book, BY FORCE!!" Eddy charged straight forward to the back of the library.
"I'll look for the answer in the comic book section, Double Dee!" Ed smiled as he walked to find the comic book section.
"Oh dear…" Double Dee looked worried about what the two might do next. "Oh well, time to do some research in case we get closer than ever before."
Double Dee replied as he picked up a book and started reading in search of the book he was meant to look for.
[Accumula Town: Nazz, Jonny and Danny]
Nazz and Jonny were walking past the buildings, seeing everyone replaying a clip of the Team Plasma Speech, featuring the Ed Boys in that one clown of a show.
"Oh boy, Plank! The Eds are famous here!" Jonny told his friend, Plank, the 2x4 Construction Plank of wood with a drawn on face. "Yeah, it's no wonder why they like it here!"
"Even then, who are those dudes with those clothes?" Asked Nazz, wondering who Team Plasma was.
"Extra! Extra! Pick up your news here!" Shouted a Newspaper Delivery Boy.
"Oh, don't mind if I do!" Jonny picked up a paper.
"For a small fee of 25 Pokédollars!" Said the kid.
"Fine." Said Jonny as his smile faded for a moment. "I'm okay with that!"
Jonny paid the fee as he opened up the paper and read the headlines. He was surprised. Nazz came over and read the paper with him.
"Team Plasma attacks Nuvema Town Pokémon Lab! - Professor Juniper was under attack by some Professor Grunts with an army of Patrat when three Pre-Official Trainers rescued Professor Juniper from a horrible attack! They are; Kevin, Marie and Rolf (the weird one, by the way). And so, the officials shall be keeping an eye on Team Plasma!"
"Oh jeez, Plank!" Jonny told his 2x4 plank of wood. "You think The Eds know about this?!"
"Hey, Jonny! Look at this!" Said Nazz, who pointed at the bottom of the page as that part of the newspaper read:
"Team Plasma Members under attack by Comedic Pokémon Trainers, Ed, Edd and Eddy (Nice name combo by the way), as the headliners find out that Team Plasma and the Ed Boys comedic duo has split into two groups since two days ago."
"No…" Jonny was shocked.
"Not even THE EDS were chill with Team Plasma." Said Nazz. "What could this all mean?"
"Yes Plank?" Jonny spoke with plank. "There's more?... Plank says the Eds are gonna have a hard time defeating Team Plasma, for they do not know what's coming… Whatever that means…"
Nazz looked at Plank as Plank radiated something, like a Purple Mist.
"Dude, I think Plank is on fire." Said Nazz.
Jonny looked at Plank as he screamed when he saw the mist, running to a pot of dirt and dumping it on Plank, putting out whatever Plank caught.
"Phew…" said Jonny. "That was a close one, eh, buddy?"
Nazz looked concerned.
[Nacrene City Gym: Double Dee and Eddy]
[Entralink/Dreamworld: Ed]
While Eddy and Double Dee were halfway done through the puzzle, Ed took a break and used his Dream Mist to Dream off to Dreamworld.
In this dream, he was in someone else's dream. This was a Pokémon Trainer named Sunny (Hinata in Japanese). She was training in the snow with her Pokémon. Ed wondered what a young girl his age would be doing in the middle of the snow.
Ed watched the Pokémon Trainer and her Riolu, much like Champ, Eddy's own Riolu, train together in crushing rocks and training despite all of Sunny's injuries. She kept pushing herself to the limit, even if it hurt her.
Ed came out behind a rock and showed up.
"Hello?" Asked Ed, as Sunny lost focus and her Pokémon watched after her.
"Um… Who are you?" Asked Sunny.
"My name is Ed!" Ed yelled as the mountains echoed his phrase over and over again. Ed looked forward to see Sunny covering her ears as her Riolu was ready to hurt Ed.
"Y - Y - You're loud…" Sunny shivered.
"Oops, sorry. I get excited to meet new people!" Said Ed with a smile as Sunny's Riolu stopped staring daggers at Ed.
"Well, nice to meet you, Ed." Sunny held out her hand, which was covered in scars and bruises, quivering in pain and cold. "My name is Sunny…"
Ed happily shook it with such glee. "Nice to meet you! I wonder if we can possibly train together!"
"Y - You really mean that?" Asked Sunny as she looked at her Pokémon. Her Pokémon nodded. As she looked up to Ed.
Ed took a rock and smashed it with his head, real easily, surprising Sunny.
"Wow!" Sunny was surprised. "You're so strong!"
"Tell me, why are you training in the snow?" Asked Ed.
"It's because… I've been aiming to be the best Battler within my family!" Said Sunny, with some courage in her tone, despite the weak sounds her vocal chords were giving. "I just got to…"
Ed felt like he needed to help. "Allow me to help you!"
Ed took out the Technical Machine for Work Up.
Within small minutes, they were able to get Sunny and her Pokémon, in tip top shape.
"Thank you… Ed…" Sunny smiled as she was getting tired as she fainted right in front of Ed. Her Pokémon watched over Sunny as he quickly got Sunny to her knees.
"Anytime!" Ed winked and gave a thumbs up with a smile. "If you need anything, let me know!"
Sunny giggled so weakly. Ed hugged Sunny too tightly as he placed a Tracker on the snow, to remember where to go. But little did he know, this was real.
Ed began fading into purple mist. Sunny and her Riolu watched as Ed winked before turning into mist and floated into the sky.
[Nacrene Gym: Ed, Edd N Eddy]
"Ed!! ED!!" Eddy and Double Dee called for their friend over from the library.
Ed woke up from the Dream, as he got a request from the Entralink.
Sunny requests for a Croagunk. And luckily, Ed had one from escaping Mt Wheel, in the wetlands of the foot, he caught one as he was inspired to give away Pokémon to the ones with needs for one.
And so, he gave the Croagunk to Sunny using the same strategy that he used for trading online Pokémon.
The sky became dark, the antenna was pointing at the sky, as Ed offered the Pokémon, the building took it through the wires as the antenna shot it out with a zap to the sky.

Sunny was getting down from the mountain. With her two Pokémon, her Riolu and a Poison Type Pokémon.
This Pokémon's body was purple and spherical with a skull and crossbones on the lower parts of his body. He had openings that allowed gasses to escape.
And suddenly, it blipped into lightning as it struck into his place, replacing the Pokémon with Croagunk.
Sunny looked at the Pokémon and smiled, looking up. "Thank you, Ed!"

"Zappity Zap Zap!" Ed smiled as he was awaiting his present. As the lightning stuck his hand, revealing the Pokéball in it.
"Koffing, the Poison Gas Pokémon. Lighter-than-air gasses in its body keep it aloft. The gasses not only smell, they are also explosive. Its thin, filmy body is filled with gasses that cause constant sniffles, coughs and teary eyes."
Ed leaped for joy. "Welcome on-board, new Monster Friend!"
"Ed!" Double Dee scolded Ed. "Where were you while Eddy and I were solving this puzzle?!"
"I got a new friend!" Said Ed with joy to an angry Double Dee as he was zapped by Electricity from the new Pokéball.
"What in the world?!" Double Dee looked at his hands, as the Pokéball for Koffing was there, in his palms.
"I'm giving you one of my Pokémon!" Said Ed with a smile.
"But Ed, I can't!" Said Double Dee. "I can't keep YOUR Pokémon!"
"It's only for a little while!" Ed replied.
"I think what Monobrow is trying to say is that he's gonna loan you a Pokémon." Said Eddy until he realized what he said. "What came out of my mouth?"
"Oh!" Double Dee smiled. "Well, if that's alright with you. Next time, you can hold one of my Pokémon for your battles any time! But remember, we're in this together!"
"Right, right." Eddy said sarcastically, rolling his eyes. "Now let's go inside!"
Eddy remembered how slow the Bookshelf went and nearly ruined his tiny bit of patience he had for everything.
[Striaton City: Marie, Kevin and Rolf]
Just after the Trio had their meal, they defeated the trainers that were eager to beat them, if they could with the vast variety that the trio had. The trio had solved the quiz into the final part of the challenge, which was facing off with the Gym Leader.
Just as Cress, Cilan and Chili were facing the trio as Marie was healing the Team Pokémon, Kevin crunched his knuckles he held in his hand, his Ace Pokémon, Shellshock, his Oshawott.
"Welcome. This is Striaton City's Pokémon Gym. " Cilan welcomed the Trio.
"I'm the fire-type freak, Chili!" Chili appeared in front of Cilan with Cress following from behind.
"And I'm the water-user, Cress. Pleased to make your acquaintance." Said Cress with a smile.
"As for me... Call me Cilan, with a preference for grass-types." Said Cilan as he added.
"Well, I don't need an intro after I whoop your butts into next week!" Kevin smirked. "Gimme your best shot!"
Chili explained the rules. "As usual, we are three! And the type of the Pokémon you first chose decides who you fight!"
"That's right. And the first partner you picked was a water-type." Cress added in.
"Right... Meaning your opponent is I, Cilan, preferrer of grass-types. If you are so willing, I would gladly commit myself to being your opponent." Cilan took out a Pokéball.
"Grass types, for my Water Type?" Asked Kevin. "Hard, but let's see what you can do! Time to show what the MASTER CHEF can do in the heat of the moment!" Kevin sparked the battle as he looked at his team.
[Nacrene City Gym: The Ed Boys]
The Boys entered to see a Librarian reading some documents and studying the history of this region.
She looked up and smiled.
"Ah, I've been waiting to challenge you!" She said,
"Judging from your looks, you look like the Gym Leader!" Said Double Dee.
Lenora was a tall black woman with curly cyan hair and blue eyes. Lenora wore a striped headband, with a white shirt with a white ribbon on her neck, as well as orange flats, teal pants and a khaki apron with orange pockets. Lenora also wore red lipstick on.
"And you must be the hit sensation, Ed Edd N Eddy!" Said Lenora as she chuckled at the name. "Like the names! I'm the curator of the Nacrene City museum and gym leader of Nacrene Gym. That's right, I'm Lenora! So then, my challengers, just how do you fight with your lovingly-raised Pokémon? Allow me to study you!"
"Alright! Let's go!" Eddy charged up ahead.
"Hey!" Ed grabbed Eddy while he charged. "I wanna battle Lenora!"
"Hey! Wait your turn, Lumpy!" Shouted Eddy.
"Gentlemen! Please! If it'll make you plan your strategy, we can take turns figuring this out!" Double Dee said, smiling.
"Okay, Mister Arty Smartypants!" Eddy mocked Double Dee. "How about you go first?!"
"Oh, uh! I didn't mean myself!" Said Double Dee, blushing about his strategy.
"Well, too bad! Face her!" Said Eddy as he pushed Double Dee to the Battle Area.
"Oh dear, I don't have a Fighting-type Pokémon…" Double Dee quaked in his boots.
"Well, because of that, I decided to add a Surprise Pokémon to take down any Pokémon that's a fighting-type as well as being a Normal Type itself. I hope you can guess which one it is!" Lenora smirked.
"Well, whatever it may be, I hope to calculate it out!" Double Dee took out a Pokéball.
"Calculations alone won't help you win a battle, and I hope you understand that!" Lenora frowned as she took out a Pokéball. "Let's go! Herdier!"
The Pokémon Lenora summoned was a quadrupedal, slightly chubby mammalian canine Pokémon. Most of the body was brown and some parts were dark blue. The Pokémon had very large ears and what looked like a mustache and forehead hair in the shape of a "W". She had small neat paws and what seemed like a blue cover over her body and tail.
"What is THAT?!" Asked Eddy.
"Doggy looks mean!" Ed added in his own statement as he took out his Pokédex and scanned it.
"Herdier, the Loyal Dog Pokémon. It has black, cape-like fur that is very hard and decreases the amount of damage it receives. It loyally follows its Trainer's orders. For ages, they have helped Trainers raise Pokémon."
"And if you must know, Herdier is an evolved form of Lillipup!" Said Lenora with a proud smile.
"LILLIPUP EVOLVES INTO THAT?!" The Ed Boys yelled altogether as they're getting worried about the situation.
"And I happen to have a Pokémon that is an evolved form of a Patrat!" Lenora winked at the Ed Boys.
Eddy vented his shirt in the heat of the moment. "Well, Double Dee, good luck…"
"You can do this, Double Dee!" Ed cheered.
"T - Thanks Ed…" Double Dee gulped as he remembered that he was going to calculate his way out of this.
Guido got into the line of the battlefield by the border and began refereeing.
"The battle between Nacrene City Gym's Lenora and Peach Creek's Double Dee is about to begin! This matchup will be a 3 on 3 match with no substitutes, however, switch outs are allowed! The battle's over when three Pokémon in a team are fully knocked out! Double Dee, please select your Pokémon!"
"Right!" Double Dee began thinking. 'I must plan this out. Now I can use Cream, but like the Pokédex said, that fur is tough… I'm willing to use Soda Pop, but he's not that powerful… It's only a matter of fact before I can pull this off… I guess it's time to go full power, said Double Dee as he loaded something Green and Shiny in his Pokéball.'
"He's pulling out the Gem, Eddy!" shouted Ed.
"I see, you're gonna need all the power you can get!" Said Lenora with a tough smile. "You're not going to win like that, however!"
"I'll win how I prefer. This way, at this rate, it's all chance!" Said Double Dee. "Phil! Your assistance, please!"
Double Dee summoned his starter Pokémon!
"(Rrruff! Seems like YOU are the lead of this battle!)" Herdier barked at Phil.
"(As so, Madame, you shall be satisfied with my performance in this battle.)" Phil posed for battle. "(You see, I have evolved recently and had a warm-up with this new body. But for now, we shall wait and see what this Gym has to offer.)"
"(I like your calm approach, young Pokémon!)" The Loyal Dog Pokémon barked at Phil in a sophisticated manner. "(Best of luck to both of us!)"
Ed summoned his Pokémon so they could watch.
After realizing Ed summoned his Pokémon, Eddy summoned his last as they all watched the battle begin.
[Striaton City Gym: Kevin, Marie and Rolf]
"The Battle between Striaton City's Cilan and Peach Creek's Kevin is about to begin!" Clyde, the new referee announced. "This battle will be a 3 v 3! Switch outs are allowed, but there shall be no substitutes! Once you summon the first three Pokémon, you're locked in! Items are allowed but keep it at a bare minimum of 4! And furthermore, the battle ends when the first 3 Pokémon of a team are unable to battle! Trainers, summon your Pokémon!"
"What do we have here? I think someone NEEDS to go see a Doctor! Allow myself to present to you the best Doctor that cures Loser-itis!" Kevin smirked. "Doctor Wave!"
Kevin summoned his Drowzee as it focused.
"(At last, a battle to where I get to test my skills!)" Dr Wave moved his fingers in a hypnotic manner.
"I see you're going in strong!" Cilan smiled. "But allow me to summon mine! Let's go! Lillipup!"
"(Arf! Arf!)" Lillipup showed up once again for a Peach Creek Member's Gym Battle.
"Seriously?!" Asked Kevin with a burst of laughter. "Nothing new?! Well alright, if you wished for your Pokémon to be CREAMED in battle!"
"Don't underestimate Gym Leaders, Kevin…" Cilan grew a serious face as he posed for battle.
Marie and Rolf watched from the sidelines as their Pokémon popped out of their Pokéballs and stood to watch Kevin and his team fight.
"Wilfred Jr!" Shouted Rolf. "Why have you come to interfere?!"
"Leave them be, Rolf." Said Marie. "I think they just want to watch the battle."
"I see. So the descendant of Wilfred wishes to observe the battle, yes? Well, now, STUDY IT!! Thank you…" said Rolf as he sat down on a Dining Table Chair along with Marie on a Classy Table Chair.

"Ready?! Battle Begin!!" Guido and Clyde brought down a chop in their own respective battles!

(A/N): Welcome to the first Back to Back Important Battle in this fanfic! Here's how it works!
The Users are Soul Linked into their battles to take turns defeating a Pokémon! After beating 1 Opponent Pokémon, the next trainer goes to defeat his or her Opponent Pokémon! And after that! The cycle continues! The cycle also switches when an allied Pokémon faints! Or when an "OMG Moment" is about to show!

First up, Kevin goes first, then Double Dee!
[Kevin Vs Cilan: Round 1]
"Let's begin!" Kevin smirked as he ordered his first move! "Dr Wave! Use Hypnosis!"
"(Please close your eyes and dream away…)" The Drowzee moved his fingers as Dream Waves landed on Lillipup, but nothing happened.
"Huh?!" Kevin looked confused. "That never happened before!"
"I think you'll find that my Pokémon has the 'Vital Spirit' Ability!" Cilan explained. "It prevents Lillipup from falling asleep away from his will!"
"That's Bogus!" Kevin gritted his teeth.
"Now, Lillipup! Bite the Drowzee!" Cilan ordered as the Pokémon attacked with elongated fangs and bit into the Hypnosis Pokémon!
"(Gah! Who got this puppy with sharp teeth?!)" Dr Wave shouted out.
"Oh no!" Kevin said sarcastically. "A Super Effective Move?! What can we do?! … Disable it, Doc!"
"(Of course! Just a slight incision in your moveset…)" Dr Wave pinched his fingers as Lillipup's mouth shut closed and won't open.
"(MMMPH! MMMPHH!!)" The Lillipup couldn't bark.
"Clever moveset, Kevin…" Cilan smiled with a bit of a worried look for his Pokémon.
"Now watch as we give it a big dose of clobbering time!" Kevin smirked. "Let 'em FEEL IT, Doctor! Confusion attack!"
"(Now, the REAL FUN begins!)" Doctor Wave's eyes glowed blue as he carried Lillipup with Psychic Powers and basically mopped the floor with Lillipup, since all of Lillipup's damaging moves were sealed!
"(Mm… Mm…)" The Lillipup whined as it fainted down.
"Ah! My Pokémon!" Cilan cried out as his Pokémon fainted from all that bruising.
"Check!" Kevin snapped his fingers.
"(Another case cured, Kevin!)" Doctor Wave stood proudly.
"Lillipup is unable to battle! Please retreat the fallen Pokémon!" Clyde announced.
"Lillipup! Return!" Cilan recalled his fainted Pokémon.

[Edd Vs Lenora: Round 1]
Herdier growled at Phil as he was covered by a blue aura.
"Hey, what gives?!" Shouted Eddy.
"It appears that you've triggered my Herdier's 'Intimidate' Ability! Your Pokémon's Attack Stat lowers by 1!" Lenora winked at Eddy. "How's that for strategy?!"
"It won't matter once we use THIS attack… Well then!" Double Dee started the battle, "Phil! Use your Grass Gem and Attack with Leaf Tornado!"
"(Well, now! Crystal Power!)" Phil broke the Gem and glowed with Green Aura! "(Super Leaf Tornado!)"
Phil swung his body around and released a leafy wind attack that swung Herdier around and pelted her with leaves and dust with a huge amount of damage!
"(Ruff!! Ow!!)" Herdier whined as she landed on her back.
"Aha, NOW I get to see what kind of Trainer you are!" Lenora smiled. "But watch this! Herdier! Attack with Take Down!"
Herdier got up and charged recklessly at Phil, who was taken down by one-third of his health in damage, but survived! As for Herdier, she took some damage as well.
"That looked like it hurt!" Ed cringed at the huffing from Herdier.
"It appears she suffered recoil damage, Ed." Lenora stated. "When Herdier uses that move, she gets hurt as well. But of course, the next attack won't be enough to take down that Servine, so how about we stir things up?!"
"That's where I'm stopping you! Come back, Phil!" Double Dee announced as he took out his Pokéball for Phil and recalled him. Double Dee then took out another Pokéball. Ed could smell the cold steel from the Pokéball that Double Dee was holding.
"It's Sunny's Pokémon!" Ed smiled.
Eddy stared into Ed with a puzzled and irritated look. "Who?!"
"Come on out, Smokey!" Double Dee summoned his new Loaned Pokémon, Koffing.
"(Well, I ha-hope I get to be a u-huseful part of this battle!)" The Pokémon wheezed.
"That is NASTY!" Eddy commented.
"A Koffing!" Lenora smiled with joy. "An excellent choice for battle, let's see how you can use a well rounded Koffing! Herdier, Take Down!"
"(Take this! Ruff!!)" Herdier tackled into Smokey with full force, taking recoil damage once more, but Smokey barely hung on!
"(Wo-hoah! That was a mighty blo-how!)" Koffing coughed out.
"NOW! KOFFING! WHILE YOU HAVE THE CHANCE! ASSURANCE!!" Double Dee yelled out.
"(Now let's see-hee how you li-haike… EXTRA DAMAGE!!)" The Koffing rolled in high speed onto the floor using his gas to propel himself to Herdier, and with his body turning into a shadowy form, he tackled Herdier using some of her own damage and adding his attack's bonus move ability to knock Herdier down!
"(Roooooooor…)" Herdier howled as she fell to the floor, fainted!
"HERDIER!!!" Lenora was surprised the Koffing outlasted the Take Down and dished back enough damage.
"Now THAT'S what I call knowing your cards!" Double Dee smirked.
"(Do-hown goes the do-hog!)" Smokey coughed.
"Herdier is unable to battle! It's down and out!" Guido announced.
"Don't count your Torchics just yet!" Lenora got serious. "None of the challengers outside Unova has the best Koffing, not even Roxie! Herdier, Return!"
Lenora recalled her fainted Herdier.
"Who's Roxie?" Double Dee asked.

[Kevin Vs Cilan: Round 2]
"Ready for Round 2, Gym Leader?!" Asked Kevin with a cocky attitude. "Cuz I think Doctor Wave has all your Pokémon on a Medical Plan for submission!"
"Just you wait!" Cilan took out another Pokéball. "Come out, Pansage!"
Out came Cilan's own Pansage, much like Eddy's Lime, but more sophisticated, or as the Ed Boys' Monkeys, Outside Pan.
"(Time to show up with more class!)" The Pansage raised his fists like a Professional Boxer, like Cinderella Man.
"The heck is that?!" Kevin asked confused as he looked it up on his Pokédex and figured it out.
"Kevin Boy! Don't let the Avocado Monkey Pocket Monster fool you! Rolf has a hunch that this is a Grass Leaf Type!" Rolf yelled out.
"Rolf's right!" Marie yelled out as well. "This looks like a Grass Type! Be careful!"
"Grass Type, huh? So this Gym DOES have 'Secret Sauce' of its own…" Kevin admired the idea. "Choice… But no matter, step right up for your daily check up of beatdowns from Doctor Wave!"
"Whatever you say, I WILL NOT be intimidated by it!" Cilan's tone got more serious. "Pansage! Lick attack!"
"Lick?!" Kevin cringed at the idea, but the Pokémon attacked with its tongue and literally licked Dr Wave with a slobbery drool that's dark.
"(Brr! Cold! *Zzzt* Uh oh…)" Doctor Wave sparked as he froze.
"What the heck did you do?!" Kevin yelled out in slight anger.
"Kevin!" Marie yelled from the bench side. "Doctor Wave is Paralyzed! That attack must have a secondary effect like that of an Electric Type Attack!"
"No way!" Kevin's eyes widened.
"Now for the finishing touch!" Cilan ordered. "Pansage! Fury Swipes!"
"(DO NOT quarrel with such a weakness to Ghost Type Attacks, 'Doctor'! I suggest I may pay my bill later!)" Cilan's Pansage charged at Doctor Wave with elongated claws and scratched him with punches like a pair of Brass Knuckles and finished Doctor Wave with a Scratchy Uppercut!
"(No…)" Doctor Wave fell on his back, fainted.
"Drowzee is unable to battle! Eliminated by Status Effect and Knock Out!" Clyde announced.
"NO FREAKING WAY!!!" Kevin shouted as his first plan was fried by Monkey. "Doctor Wave! Return!"
Kevin recalled his Drowzee back into his Pokéball and placed it back into his Pocket.
"I told you, never underestimate Gym Leaders…" Cilan grinned like a waiter that happily served a dish, this time, Cilan served an ice cold dish of revenge.
"I'll get you back…" Kevin gritted his teeth. "Just watch!"

[Edd Vs Lenora: Round 2]
"DOUBLE DEE!!!" Ed remembered something. "HER NEXT POKÉMON IS AN EVOLVED PATRAT!!!"
"Tell me something that Lenora never told us!" Eddy rolled his eyes.
Double Dee and Smokey awaited for Lenora's next move.
"As you can guess from Ed, he's right. And good trivia about his memory." Lenora took out another Pokéball and summoned her next Pokémon. "Show yourself, Watchog!"
The Patrat Evolution showed herself as she looked at Double Dee with a careful stare with daggers eyeing at him!
Watchog was a bipedal, rodent-like Pokémon that bore a resemblance to chipmunks, groundhogs, and meerkats. She had small black eyes surrounded by hypnotic red and yellow rings. She was mainly rust-colored, with her puffy cheeks and neck a light beige color, and yellow stripes wrapping around her torso and tail. Her front and hind paws were white, as was the furry tip of her tail. Her arms seemed to be crossed over her chest, possibly hiding a white tuft of fur. The yellow patterns on her chest resemble a worker's yellow safety vest.
"(I got my eye on ya, Kiddo!)" The Watchog stared at Double Dee.
Eddy scanned the Pokémon.
"Watchog, the Lookout Pokémon. When they see an enemy, their tails stand high, and they spit the seeds of berries stored in their cheek pouches. They make the patterns on their bodies shine in order to threaten predators. Keen eyesight lets them see in the dark."
Double Dee paid no heed to the staring, "Koffing, use-"
"Watchog, QUICK! Use Retaliate!" Lenora ordered before Double Dee.
"Huh?!" Double Dee was confused by the stolen order.
"(You defeated my friend?! HOW DARE YOU!!!)" Watchog tackled into Smokey, beating him up with every strong muscle within her! And by the secondary effect, it was stronger!
Watchog tossed Koffing to the floor as Koffing wheezed for help.
"(Ho-Ho… Help…)" Smokey deflated into a smaller size, on the floor, as he fainted.
"Koffing is unable to fight! Please recall it from further harm!" Guido announced.
"SMOKEY?! WHAT HAPPENED?!" Double Dee was confused.
"Did I forget, we also have strategies that involve our own Technical Machines?!" Lenora winked at Double Dee as Double Dee growled and tugged his hat to his eyes.
"Smokey, return!" Double Dee recalled Smokey back into his Pokéball.
"You know, most Koffing don't normally LAST this long in a fight with me!" Lenora reminded Double Dee. "But the way you PLANNED for it with that Assurance, I HAD TO get payback for that, literally! And just so you know, Retaliate is a move that gets powerful when an ally faints! Don't you wish you had this Technical Machine, hm?!"
Double Dee placed Smokey back into his Pocket and began calculating BACK FROM SCRATCH!!

[Kevin Vs Cilan: Round 3]
Kevin began thinking… 'Man, this Cilantro Guy got me real good! So I'm gonna need to step up my game… And something about Grass… And that quiz… Marie stepped on a Fire Button to beat Grass… Could there be something more to it?!... … THAT'S IT! FIRE!'
"Had enough, Kevin?" Asked Cilan as Kevin pulled out a Pokéball.
"Hey, Mint Leaf! I think you're gonna need to get the Coal ready, cuz here comes a Fire Type! Come on out, Bonesaw!!" Kevin sent out his Houndour!
"(Arf! Time to grill!)" Bonesaw growled like a dog in front of the Pansage.
"(Do YOU quarrel, young man?! Because even though you're a Fire Type, doesn't mean you'll win very easily!)" Cilan's Pansage warned.
"(Then I have to do what I must!)" Bonesaw got into a battle position like it wanted to play.
"Pansage! Work Up!" Cilan ordered.
"(Time to Limber Up!)" Pansage got on the floor to do some warm up exercises and was flashing a red aura, signaling his two stats rising.
"What a waste of a good turn…" Kevin said with a disappointed look on his face.
"What Work Up does is raise my Pokémon's Attack and Special Attack Statuses up by 1, each!" Cilan reminded Kevin. "It did help take down the Big Guy with the Green Jacket's most dangerous Pokémon! Ed, was it?..."
"Don't you DARE bump me with that DORK!" Kevin yelled. "That's it! Bonesaw, cook them with Ember!"
"(Game's Over!)" shouted Bonesaw as he spat out some Fire on the Pansage, as the Pansage yelped in pain due to his weakness against Fire!
"(YOWCHIE!! THE HEAT!!)" The Pansage jumped up as he got caught on fire.
"Hey look, he's on fire!" Kevin chuckled.
"You… YOU BURNED HIM?!" Cilan shouted out.
"Burned?" Asked Kevin.
"The Evil Dog Pocket Monster has scorched the Grass Leaf Monkey on fire! Is it a new statue effect?!" Asked Rolf.
"First off, STATUS Effect! And second, yes! Kevin may have discovered how to set opponents on fire!" Marie told Rolf.
"You DO know that because of the burn, my Pansage's Attack status is halved, and it takes damage over time, and it lingers after battle, right?!" Cilan was absolutely gobsmacked wildly because of Kevin.
"Well… Duh! Why else would I bring a Fire Type Pokémon?! Looks like that exercise won't help at all!" Kevin smirked. "Smoke them again, Bonesaw! EMBER!!"
"(Bye bye!)" Bonesaw took a deep breath in and blasted Pansage with Ember as Pansage took extra damage from the burning, until the burning faded with all of his energy.
"(The heat… is too much…)" Cilan's Pansage fainted face forward.
"Pansage is unable to battle! Elimination by Status Effect and Knock Out!" Clyde announced.
"Why you little-!!" Cilan was about to lose composure.
"Admit it, Cilantro! You're not good against what serves you your warm breakfast!" Kevin smirked.
"That's CILAN! And who warns me about Pokémon other people use?!" Cilan frowned at Kevin as he recalled Pansage. "Pansage, return!"
"Two down, one to go!" Kevin pounded his fist into his palm.
"Oh, you best be ready for it, Kevin!" Cilan smirked creepily as if he went insane. "You don't know what is the Surprise Pokémon!"
"Surprise Pokémon?" Asked Kevin. "What is that?"
"Well to tell you the truth, about the Ed Boys… Snivy wasn't my only option…" Cilan took out a Pokéball with a Black and Yellow scheme. The ball also had a Yellow H on it.
"Oh boy…" said Chili with a slight shock at his brother's behavior.

[Edd Vs Lenora: Round 3]
Double Dee had just finished calculations and he decided to rely on his Newest Pokémon. He took out a Pokéball for his Proto Turtle Pokémon, Tank the Tirtouga.
"We need you, Tank!" Double Dee sent out his Fossil Pokémon.
"(...)" Tank paddled his way into the battlefield, slowly.
"Wow, talk about a slow one, doesn't it?" Lenora taunted Double Dee.
"Well, I wouldn't count on it being slow…" Double Dee replied back.
"I wonder what you'll pull this time!" Lenora smirked. "Too bad I'll put your Pokémon asleep when Watchog uses Hypnosis! Which is.. NOW, WATCHOG!"
"Tank, Rollout attack with an Aqua Jet boost! Straight ahead! Quickly!" Double Dee ordered as his Pokémon tucked everything in his shell and jetted into Watchog with full force, breaking through the Hypnosis, but falling asleep upon impact!
"(Jeez!)" Watchog got up with the shell still going around at jet speed, rolling around the battlefield.
"What?! How?!" Shouted Lenora.
"I knew there was a reason why Cheren gave me these berries…" Double Dee replied. "And if I knew better, Normal Types do half the damage on Rock Type Pokémon! So it didn't matter if we had to use great force, it's all in the matter of keeping the momentum in motion! So I GAVE Tank the Chesto Berry!"
"That boy…" Lenora frowned at herself.
"Frankly, I don't like him either." Said Double Dee. "But when it comes to opportunities, never make Lemonade, always sell them for more until you own a Lemon Product Shop! In other words, capitalize on it!"
Tank kept rolling in his shell throughout the battlefield, bouncing out the walls and speeding up.
"Hey, look!" Ed smiled and pointed at Tank. "The Turtle is going so fast and bouncing like Air Hockey! You think Watchog can catch Tank if he zooms around her?!"
"That's it!" Double Dee had an idea. "Tank! Rollout to the top left corner!"
"Oh no, you don't!" Lenora realized what the plan was. "Watchog! Use Crunch and stop him!"
"(Oh no ya don't!)" Watchog got up and was about to bite on the shell!
"Use Protect upon impact!" Double Dee ordered.
"Huh?!" Lenora didn't understand.
"(Mhm…)" Tank tucked into his shell only for a barrier to form around him as he rolled so fast, giving Watchog a mouth full of barrier and a full body Hyper Tackle, bouncing her to the back of the room corner, smashing her to the bookshelves, and letting the books fall onto Watchog for additional damage!
"WATCHOG!!" Lenora cried out!
"(You… Road hog…)" Watchog slumped over the books, fainted.
"An outstanding knockout! Watchog is unable to battle! Please remove it from the field!" Guido announced with excitement he got from Double Dee's attack.
Lenora recalled Watchog from the pile of books with her Pokéball, while avoiding the incoming speeding Tirtouga.
"Well, you have done it, Double Dee!" Lenora smiled. "You've survived the punishments from the Normal Type Pokémon. Even in these circumstances, I can find a way to win! So I hope you and your fast Tirtouga can survive a Normal Type Hybrid, one that can beat Fighting Types without being weak to one! I present to you, the Surprise Pokémon!"
Double Dee gulped with a frown, holding his position to the battle!

[Kevin Vs Cilan: Round 4 Intro, OMG Part 1]
"Behold, Kevin! I hold you the only Grass Type to withstand Fire Types in this Ultra Ball! A full grown Pokémon! " Cilan tossed the Ultra Ball out into the Battlefield. "I choose you, Ludicolo!"
Kevin wasn't ready to witness a Pokémon that was from that Pokéball Variation as it was summoned into the battlefield.
Ludicolo appeared to be a pineapple-duck hybrid with a green sombrero-like lily pad on his head. He had a yellow, fuzzy ovoid body with brown zig zags all over. He had a green face with black pupils and an orange beak. Growing out of the sombrero was a stem-like appendage with a yellow spiky ball on top. He had green limbs, and his palms were green in color with two black lines. His feet were short and stumpy with a black spot on the bottom.
"(Buenos Dias, My Friend!)" Ludicolo wiggled his body.
Kevin couldn't believe his eyes. As he laughed.
"You CAN'T be serious!" Kevin kept laughing as Marie took out her Pokédex and scanned Ludicolo.
"Ludicolo, the Carefree Pokémon. If it hears festive music, all its muscles fill with energy. It can't help breaking out into a dance. Upon hearing an upbeat and cheerful rhythm, the cells in Ludicolo's body become very energetic and active. Even in battle, this Pokémon will exhibit an amazing amount of power."
"Oh no…" Rolf felt a little bad for Kevin.

[Edd Vs Lenora: Round 4 Intro, OMG]
"I present you, the Surprise Pokémon!" Lenora took out an Ultra Ball, like Cilan had with Kevin, and tossed it out into the battlefield. "I choose you, Girafarig!"
The Pokémon was summoned and stood tall against Double Dee's Pokémon, so that not even Phil may feel like being the biggest Pokémon among his crew.
Girafarig was similar to a giraffe. Girafarig's front half was yellow in color with brown spots and her bottom was brown with yellow spots. She had white horns on her head and pink spikes on her back. Her most unusual feature is its tail, which has a head with a mind of its own.
"(Well now, what have we here?...)" asked Girafarig.
"(Lunchtime?!)" Asked the tail.
"(Well, it turns out to be a Gym Challenger… But let's welcome them to OUR field!)" Said Girafarig.
"(Yes!! YES!! Now we can have brains for dinner!!)" The tail cackled, creeping out the Ed Boys as Eddy pulled out his Pokédex and scanned the Giraffe Pokémon.
"Girafarig, the Long Neck Pokémon. The head on its tail contains a small brain. It can instinctively fight even while facing backward. Beware! If you get close, it may react to your scent and bite."
"Geez, and I thought Dogs and Squirrels were bad!" Eddy was stunned with ruined vibes.

[Kevin Vs Cilan: Round 4, OMG Part 2]
"What makes you think that THING has something to destroy my Fire Type?! Other than its big size, I would understand, but it looks so dorky!" Kevin mocked Ludicolo.
"Because, Kevin!" Cilan chortled silently. "If you must know, this is the only Grass AND Water Type Pokémon!"
Kevin's laughter suddenly stopped. "Say what, now?"
"You heard me! A Grass and WAH-TER Type!" Cilan warned. "Here, let me show you! Ludicolo! Water Gun Attack!"
"(SI SEÑOR!!)" Ludicolo took a deep breath and SPLATTED Bonesaw in water, making it yelp in pain and Bonesaw dog whined, shivering, until he fainted.
"(No… Fair…)" Bonesaw fainted.
"Houndour is unable to battle! Is this even fair?!" Clyde announced.
"No…" Kevin silently retreated Bonesaw back into his Pokéball.
"Kevin boy, get serious!!" Rolf yelled across the bench. "That Pineapple-duck Pocket Monster is a Powerful Pokémon!"
"I'm… dead… meat…" Kevin starred in Fear of the Water and Grass Hybrid Type Pokémon.

"Show them what we mean with Confusion on that speedy Tirtouga!" Lenora ordered.
"(Now you see a fast turtle, now you don't!)" Girafarig's eyes glowed blue as she used her Psychic Powers to stop Tank in midair, halting his speed, slowing him down to nothing!
"NO!!!" Double Dee saw his opportunity to easily win, wither away, just like that…
"Now, blast it with Psybeam!" Lenora smirked.
"(Abra Kadabra! Fast Turtle Begone!)" The tail cackled as Girafarig's eyes became even more blue.
"Quick! Use Protect!" Double Dee ordered.
"(...!)" Tank retracted into his shell as a barrier formed around him again, taking the hit from the Psybeam, launching him back to Double Dee's side!

"This is getting scary, Eddy!" Ed nibbled on his fingernails.
"Sockhead! Do something!" Eddy ordered.
"I'm thinking!" Double Dee yelled back at Eddy. "None of my ideas seem to be pointing at anything!"
"Well, come on! You're the thinker of the three of us! You should already have a plan right now!" Eddy yelled out in panic.
"Do you THINK it's that easy when it's on the spot?! Well, do you?!" Double Dee questioned the sheer short tempered Ed Boy as he was getting a headache.
"You know, sometimes, Double Dee. Battles are not made by strategy, they're also based on luck!!" Lenora gave advice to Double Dee. "So far, you're surviving by luck! All of your plans had failed to impress me… I just know this because I'm a critical thinker, too! And sometimes, the smartest always wins… I'm sorry, Double Dee, but this is where the silly ideas should stop… I've seen these plans a thousand times before. Just give it up…"

Double Dee looked at his hands and began thinking… "Oh my… Have I been putting strategy over strategy and still haven't advanced?... Why?... Why aren't these things balanced like they should be?... Is it... My fault?... I haven't been thinking… I have been, not a good thinker…"
Tears started running down his face.
"That's alright, Double Dee… Sometimes we all win some, and sometimes we all lose some… But here's the exit of this wild ride…" Lenora ordered the final call. "Girafarig! Psybeam! Make this their last move!"
"(Sayonara, little shell..)" The Tail cackled once more as Girafarig blasted another Psybeam directly at Tank, but Tank didn't get any order to move…
The blast made a huge cloud of dust that swept over Double Dee's side of the field…

"The end of the match…" Lenora announced, but when she saw the shadowy figures in the dust, she squinted at them."Huh?"
Out in the dust was Tank, who took the hit, but Double Dee had something in his hand.

"I nearly forgot why I named him 'Tank'..." Double Dee cracked a confident smile with a shadow covering his eyes. "I forgot that Rock Types have an excellent Special Defense… Why should I be afraid of a Blaster when Tank can take hits from a blast? Let alone a Psybeam!"
"No!" Lenora was surprised.
"And hey, thanks for the tip! Pokémon battles ARE a Place of Skill, Talent, Technique, Smarts AND ESPECIALLY LUCK! As I found out, Psychic Types aren't that much of a Defensive Type either!" Double Dee's eyes became visible with confidence.
[Kevin Vs Cilan: Round 5: OMG]
"Hey broccoli boy!" Kevin called out. "I just remembered… Aren't Water Types weak to Electric Types?!"
"Why do you ask?" Asked Cilan.
"You see, me and Rolf train our Electric Types AND our Water Types! And Water Types ARE WEAK to Electric Types! So yes, WE DO give our Water Types a taste of Electricity, to straighten them up, and here I realized, I have FOUR Pokémon, and did you REALLY think I was letting SHELLSHOCK face a Grass Pokémon, ALONE?!"
"What are you saying?!" Cilan wanted to know.
"Congratulations, Green Freak!" Kevin smirked. "You got a date with the Bass Player, AND NOT the Lead Singer of my Band! Allow me to introduce to you… Bass the Magnemite!"
Kevin summoned his Steel and Electric Type Pokémon, Bass the Magnemite!
"(PLAYTIME IS OVER! NEVER LET AN ORGANIC TYPE TO DO A MACHINE'S WORK!)" Bass beeped and booped in machine language.
"And last time I checked, you're on your last burrito, pal!" Kevin pointed at Cilan. "Check your party and look at mine!"
Cilan went to look at his team and then at Kevin's Team, who then had Shellshock come out and sit on the bench. "...Oh? Could it be I'm down to one Pokémon?"
"And I KNOW Electric won't do much to Grass Types, but when it comes to Water?! HAHA!! I wanna see more damage, and I expect nothing less when it comes to Bass!" Kevin warned Cilan. "In other words, YOU'RE DONE! Bass! SHOW HIM a real Paralysis! Thunder Wave!"
"(LIGHTNING CANNONS, FIRING!!)" Bass shot a wave of Electricity, stunning Ludicolo from Moving.
"(*Zzzt* No puedo mover!!)" Ludicolo froze in place.
"No… NO!!!" Cilan growled.

[Edd Vs Lenora: Round 4, OMG Part 2]
Double Dee had worked his way up from telling Tank to using Protect whenever a Confusion attack plays, and letting a Psybeam hit him, which got Tank closer to Girafarig and using Bite on her to come close. Double Dee had used two Super Potions since then to repeat the cycle, and even then, Lenora had to use one herself, but it didn't stop Double Dee and Tank from attacking once more!
[Kevin Vs Cilan: Round 5, TRUE OMG FINISHER!]
"Hey, Bass! Let's see how HE likes it when your Pokémon's all paralyzed and a finisher plays!" Kevin cheered out loud. "Hit him three times with Three Sonicboom Attacks!"
"(FIRING ALL ROUNDS!)" Bass fired a Sound blast to Ludicolo, and luckily, or say, by the rules of battle, Ludicolo was unable to move during two blasts!
[Edd Vs Lenora: Round 4, TRUE OMG]
Double Dee switched out Tank with Phil, who was still able to battle.
"You're summoning your starter Pokémon?!" Asked Lenora as she smirked. "Fine by me! Girafarig! Psybeam!"
"(My head…)" Girafarig tried blasting another Psybeam, but nothing came out.
"How about Confusion?!" Asked Lenora.
The move didn't work either.
Lenora growled. "Come on! Attack with Retaliate!"
"Oh, and one more thing you've made a mistake on, Mrs Lenora!" Double Dee pointed at Lenora. "When you summoned Girafarig, you forgot to use Retaliate, so the Double Damage doesn't apply here!"
"WHAT?!" Lenora barely realized it.
Girafarig charged out at Phil, who took enough damage to be in the red zone, activating Overgrow as vines and leaves surrounded his body.
"(Now, it's how they say, TIME TO SHINE!)" Phil stood proud and powerful.
"PHIL! OVERGROWN LEAF TORNADO!" Double Dee made the finishing call.
"ONE LAST TIME, BASS! SONICBOOM!!" Kevin ordered as the immobile Ludicolo held still.
Bass blasted the final Sonicboom that lifted Ludicolo from where he stood onto the stage!
"(ADIOS AMIGOS!!!)" Ludicolo was blasted onto the stage staircase and laid there in defeat.
"(Take this you creepy Pokémon! SUPER LEAF TORNADO!!)" Phil waved his body in a swirl as a Leafy Gust of Wind blew with a Grass Type Aura Grass Snake was inside, charging at Girafarig as the blast made an impact, pushing Girafarig back into the bookshelf, dropping a big dictionary onto her head, knocking the last of HP she had left!
"(See you in the dark side…)" The tail coughed as the whole Pokémon fainted.
(!!Victory!!)
"Ludicolo is unable to battle! TheBass the Magnemite wins the final round! Which means the winner is Kevin from Peach Creek!" Clyde announced.
"Way to go, Kevin boy!" Rolf cheered.
"That's a good soldier." Marie smiled.
"Girafarig is knocked out cold, the winner of the final round is Phil the Servine, which means the winner is Double Dee of Peach Creek!" Guido announced.
"HE DID IT!!" Ed and Eddy cheered and celebrated
Lenora looked in shock as she sighed and smiled warmly. "Now that was really something! Ain't you just charming!"
Cilan snapped out of his insanity as he was back to normal. "...Er, is it over?"
[Striaton City: Kevin, Marie and Rolf]
"Brother, are you okay?!" Asked Cress.
"Yeah, I'm fine, just got carried away." Said Cilan.
"That was one terrifyingly cool battle!" Chili cheered.
"You bet!" Kevin smiled proudly.
Rolf, Marie and their Pokémon ran up to Kevin.
"Sincerest apologies if I took it too far, Kevin… Allow me to make it up with you with this Trio Badge, your Prize Money and the Technical Machine.
As Cilan gave Kevin his prizes as Kevin wore his Trio Badge on his hat.
"Well now, at least we can get down to business!" Chili prepared for battle with Marie as Cress with Rolf.

In summary, Marie was quite the trickster, even for a combo of Spirit's Hypnosis and Sassy's Assist to beat Lillipup and Pansear. And it all paid off with the Surprise Pokémon being an Arcanine. It wasn't enough to ward off her Gastly nor her Snivy, and Marie had plenty of Potions to fix herself in Battle.
And for Rolf, he was copying the same strats as Marie and Kevin, using Tsuyu and Mary for Status Effects and avoiding using Wilfred Jr while using Stinger as an extra Poison effect. Using all these strats, Rolf won without a doubt.
And each one was given their own separate prize as they head off to the Pokémon center to rest for a while.
[Nacrene City: The Ed Boys]
"That battle was just indescribable! I was in a trance! You're just the right Pokémon Trainer to give this Basic Badge to!" Lenora awarded Double Dee with a Basic Badge, which was another Gold Badge with a long purple rectangle with two small sized rectangles fitted sideways above, and a slightly larger one fitted below. "With two badges, any Pokémon up to Level 30'll listen to what you say! Also, you oughta take this TM, too!"
The Ed Boys obtained TM67 "Retaliate"!
"If an ally Pokémon was defeated on the previous turn, Retaliate will have double the power! If you learn to master it, it can take down some formidable foes!" Lenora smiled at Double Dee. "Now, who's ready?!"
"I am!" Ed yelled out in joy.
"No, I am!" Eddy yelled out after Ed.
"Aw, don't fight!" Said Lenora. "I'm still here!"

For Eddy, Chop and Champ handled Herdier and Watchog really well, until Girafarig, which wasn't long before Razor saved the battle and earned Eddy his badge.
For Ed, same Poisonous Tricks with Junkie; Toxic Spikes and spam Acid Spray. And then, Crystal helped Junkie with the same Pokémon, beating them in the process, until Girafarig once more, and Spookie came out to help by trapping and burning Girafarig with Fire. Earning Ed his badge.
"Honey!! "Hawes ran into the Battlefield! "Honey!! This is bad! Very bad!! These Team Plasma guys were all, "We'll take this skull!", and…"
"What're you talkin' about?! What do you mean?! … Ed Boys! You come with!" Lenora runs out really fast, out into the museum.
The Ed Boys looked at each other in shock.
"This doesn't look good…" said Ed.
