Chapter 2
Interception and escalation
In the School Idols Air Base on Proud Island
15 May 2019, 17:14 PM.
After a long major flight, Azalea Squadron, Kotori, Nico and Shizuku returned to base and reported to Yu and Miyafuji, they know that Erusean bombers have attacked the IUN radar site and bombed Fort Grays Air Base.
However, Trigger took along with Mage 1 and Golem Squadron managed to defeat the bombers and their escorts.
Miyafuji: That might be just a thing to invite Trigger to our squadron temporarily.
Dia: True, but what do we know from the air activity we flew?
Yu: As we know, the bombers came from the Erusean homeland. Apparatenly, they are the bombers who attacked the radar site and later attempted to attack Fort Grays Island Air Base.
Kanan: Was Erusea the only one who got hit by a meteor rain?
Miyafuji: Not only Erusea, but some other countries like Estovakia got hit hard too.
It resulted later in the First and the Second Continental War, where in the latter, ISAF and Mobius 1 are the winners of this war.
Nico: True. But now we have a report acquired.
Yu: And that is?
Dia: According to Sohei, the IUN-PKF asked Golem and Mage Squadrons about the drones.
Yu: Drones, huh. Some Eruseans might have that technology from other sources.
Shizuku: Indeed, but we have no evidence for doing this.
Miyafuji: Hmmm… This will require some investigations, I'll have some intel from the Satsuma Intelligence in our hands, telling us that the Erusean Radicals might have to do something.
Kanan: That might be, some Eruseans may have some foreign technology, but the question is who is supplying them?
Miyafuji: I'll have to call Karibuchi and tell her anything about this.
Miyafuji dials Karibuchi some minutes later.
Miyafuji: Hello Karibuchi.
Karibuchi: Hi, Miyafuji.
Miyafuji: Say Karibuchi, my school idol pilots told me about the drone plans of Erusea.
Karibuchi: I see… I'll look into that one who distributed the drones to Erusea. Also, I've found at least a models, the MQ-99 and the MQ-101.
Miyafuji: Thank you for knowing these models, Karibuchi. Work hard on that one.
As Miyafuji's call ended, she also asked when Eli and Lanzhu would return. But one question stands clear.
Yu: What has it to do with the drones? And who is doing this?
At the sea area close of Proud Island.

A Erusean P-8 Poseidon is on the sky working reconaissance on the sea south of the Usean Continent. Little did they know that 2 Su-35 jets are about to intercept it.
Eli: Erusean recon plane spotted.
Lanzhu: What is he up to?
Eli: I've sent you the link data, let's intercept it now.
Lanzhu: Copy.
As they head out, they are prepare to close in on the recon aircraft.
As they close in, Eli calls the Erusean P-8.
Eli: This is the Satsuma Air Force.
You're entering the Satsuman airspace.
Please indicate your nationality, ID and purpose of your flight.
Change course immediately.
An Erusean pilot sees Eli's plane.
Erusean P-8 co-pilot: Who is that girl flying that?
Erusean P-8 Pilot: I don't know...
The Erusean P-8 Co-pilot tries to pretend Eli that he doesn't know her.
Erusean P-8 Co-pilot: I don't know you. I don't know you.
Eli: Stop pretending you don't know.
Lanzhu: Save it for later, words are no use.
Eli: Okay, how about this?
Eli maneuvers right just only 20 meters of the recon plane.
P-8 Co-Pilot: Her English is getting better than I thought, isn't it?
P-8 Pilot: Maybe they have an great tutor, i believe.
P-8 Co-pilot: Continue the survelliance.
Maybe if they can stick with us until I can talk Osean.
The P-8 decides to reverse, and Lanzhu knew it.
Eli: Watch it, Lanzhu! Avert!
Lanzhu avoided the P-8 and turns to the left.
Lanzhu: You're just asked for it!
Eli: I'll keep on him.
As the Erusean P-8 pilots watch where the enemy Su-35 is, Eli is right under their nose by the wachting screen of the recon plane.
Erusean P-8 Co-pilot: Wait, is that a...
P-8 Pilot: It's a itasha made plane!
But, it doesn't make sense! I thought they normally do that on cars!
P-8 Co-pilot: True, if that's one, then where's the other?
And as the P-8 pilots asking their questions, then Lanzhu's Su-35 appears on their cockpit window.
Lanzhu: You're entering the Satsuman airspace. Change course, change course.
Lanzhu is waving also the Shaojian flag on the P-8.
P-8 Co-pilot: Unbelievable!
P-8 Pilot: Looks like someone's gonna learning the Satsuman language.
P-8 Co-pilot: What? Are they from Satsuma? Are they joining the Oseans or...
P-8 Pilot: They are highly skilled. Even better than you.
P-8 Co-pilot: Wait, you like them now?
The Erusean P-8 decided to take right, they had seen enough.
Eli: You know, Lanzhu. That maneuver was a nice one during our training sim.
Lanzhu maneuvers back to the original position.
Lanzhu: Eli, let's focus for now. We're Satsuman Air Force.
Eli: Idol Leader: This is Muse 2. Mission complete.
Lanzhu: Hold that thought, Muse 2! I spot 2 planes on my radar!
Yu: 2 unidentified aircraft approaching on high speed from your 2 o'clock. Stay alert.
2 Erusean Mig-31 fighters are heading towards the two colored Su-35's.
Lanzhu: What do they want?
Eli: That must be unfriendlies. Get ready.
As Eli and Lanzhu are preparing their new maneuvers, the Erusean fighter pilots see them and chases to them.
And as they ready themselves...
Erusean Fighter 1: Bandits, 12 o'clock, 2 miles. Co-altitude, cold. Let's show force.
The Erusean pilots locked on Eli and Lanzhu, preparing to fire missiles on the School Idols. But the 2 School Idols have different ideas.
Lanzhu: 他们已锁定目标, 躲避!/Tāmen yǐ suǒdìng mùbiāo. Duǒbì! (They've locked on. Evading now!).
Eli and Lanzhu deployed chaff and flares to avoid missile fire from the Erusean fighters. The Erusean pilots sees them and dodges the flares, while doing that, Eli and Lanzhu are using cloud cover. And Eli has a idea.
Lanzhu: They got too far. Let's teach them a little lesson.
Eli: Right at you Lanzhu, keep them on a while I get them from behind.
Lanzhu: 明白了/Míngbáile. (Understood.)
Erusean Fighter 1: Blind. Blind. Keep radar tracking.
Eli: Wait for it...
While Lanzhu act as bait, Eli performs an maneuver that the Eruseans won't know that Eli will come from behind.
The Erusean fighters continue their pursuit until they have sight on the Su-35.
Erusean Fighter 2: I see her, there she is. It's just only one plane.
As the Erusean fighters continue to tail Lanzhu, Eli flies on a circle and flies from behind the Erusean fighters.
Eli: See you in the next life, fellows!
Eli has locked on the Eruseans.
Erusean Fighter 2: Uh oh, 6 o'clock! Behind us!
Chaff flares, chaff flares!
Eli uses the super maneuverability of her Su-35 and dodges the Erusean chaff and flares. While she keeps them tracking...
Erusean Fighter 1: Drop fuel tanks, drop fuel tanks. This is too much, we're better get out of here.
The Erusean fighters flee to the north.
Eli: Leaving so soon?
The Su-35's gathered together...
Lanzhu: 那怎么样!/Nà zěnme yàng! (How about that!)
Anything just to feel alive!
Eli: Be rude not to give some back. All done here! Let's go back to base!
The Su-35's of Eli and Lanzhu have done their interception mission and head for home.
As Eli and Lanzhu return and land on Proud Island, Yu and Miyafuji are relieved that Eli and Lanzhu returned to the airbase.
Debriefing: Good work intercepting the Erusean recon plane and the 2 fighter jets attempting to shoot down the 2 Su-35's.
The Erusean Fighter pilots think that the Su-35's are Osean, but they are wrong. They never realize they are Satsuman.
What they do are just looking around for enemy activity.
Little did they know, that
Proud Island is occupied, not by Oseans, but to the Satsuma Air Force.
Sooner of later, we shall retaliate.
The next day on Proud Island.
16 May, 2019. 1 PM.
Miyafuji gathered all of the School Idols on the briefing room.
Miyafuji: You're all here? Good.
You got to hear this news.
Miyafuji activates the TV, and the OBC Newsline unveil the news.
OBC News Anchor: As of 1 PM today, the Kingdom of Erusea has declared war, but this time on the Osean Federation.
As soon as the news broke out, enemy aircraft began bombing Osean territory, causing widespread destruction.
The Air Defense Force has released an statement, saying this violent attack was carried out by drones.
They speculate the drones were secretly transported to Osea in shipping containers and launched remotely.
The Secretary of the Navy has stated that the enemy was targeting naval ports across the country.
Oured Port, close to the capital city of Oured, Bana Port, Aulick Port and St. Hewlett Port, the naval base where the former Wardog Squadron defended the Kestrel and some other warships in the Circum-Pacific War, are all hit by the drones.
According to the Secretary, all of the nation's aircraft carriers, including ones still under construction, sustained severe damage in the attacks.
We have yet to hear back from the department as to the fate of the Osean carriers currently at sea.
Hold on… I've just received breaking news.
The International Space Elevator, which is being built in southern Usea, has been seized by the Erusean Army.
Reports say that former President Harling was touring the site at the time, but his current whereabouts are unknown.
Our sources in government tells us it was Harling's policies regarding the space elevator that caused economic frictions in the area and which, ultimately, led to this war.
Located near Erusea, on the continent of Usea, the space elevator has been under construction for some time now.
The Executive Office of the Osean Federation has declared a national state of emergency.
They have ordered all its armed forces, including Usean peacekeepers, to mobilize and make the necessary preparations to launch an immediate counterattack.
Ladies and gentlemen, our country is officially at war. Stay tuned for further updates.
As the OBC News was over, they turn to ENN News.
ENN News Anchor: Breaking news from ENN.
Title: Osean Forces responsible for indiscrimiate attacks!
ENN News Anchor: Osea launched an attack on the capital today, striking Farbanti from their aircraft carrier, the Kestrel II. After a brutal battle, the Erusean Air Force successfully repelled them.
During the air raid, the Osean Air Force fired missiles at the city and managed to shoot down a number of Erusean fighters.
Some of the disabled planes then crashed into residential areas.
After the ENN News announced this news. Miyafuji says this on the School Idols.
Miyafuji: Well girls, it looks like it that the war is officially begun, and we are going to connect all the dots on this conflict. I expect that we are gonna be very careful and be prepared for anything. Is that clear?
All School Idols: Understood!

Phew, that was a good chapter, I have found one of the videos are from the movie Sky Hunter. And now that the war has begun, the School Idols are ready to find what the sources are gonna say in the war, not mention helping Trigger on the process.
But for now, the School Idols are preparing for the next step by helping Trigger.
