School Idols of the Lighthouse War
Scene 6
The Inheritage and Meeting
Dr. Alfred Schroeder of the EASA is with the Sol Squadron as well as Mihaly's granddaughters in a abandoned cafe named Salty Sailor.
This is what Schroeder said in his memoirs.
Schroeder: Mihaly's granddaughters liked to keep themselves, mostly. They were well-behaved and possessed a sort of quite elegance.
From time to time, I'd catch myself looking at 'em. Wondering what they were talking about.
I'm sure everyone on the base did the same. They were such enthralling creatures.
As Schroeder hears the old clock ticking, he continues his memoirs.
Every night, a crowd would gather around Mihaly.
They were the men tasked with guarding him in the air.
Their jackets all bore the same patch. A relic from a nation that was long gone.
Decades ago, during the age of expansion, the Kingdom of Erusea absorbed many countries, including their country, Voslage.
Mihaly asked them: Yet, what is a nation? Can we actually see the physical lines that divide one from another?
Sol Pilot 3: People of my generation can no longer speak the language of my homeland.
Sol Pilot 2: My grandparents always look sad when they see I have no idea what they're saying to me.
Schroeder: Mihaly didn't say a word after that. His scarred face betrayed no emotion.
He didn't get those scars from flying, though.
Mihaly was originally from Shilage.
His real name is Mihaly Dumitru Margareta Corneliu Leopold Blanca Karol Aeon Ignatius Raphael Maria Niketas A. Shilage.
When he was young, he was the heir to the Grand Duchy of Shilage. Then, revolution broke out among his people.
Mihaly was betrayed by a close friend, who pointed a gun at his face and pulled the trigger.
The revolution was successful, but the new country that sprang for it was annexed by the expanding Kingdom of Erusea.
The Erusean Royal Family allowed Mihaly's family to retain their title and noble standing in the new kingdom.
But Mihaly surprised them all by signing up for the draft like an ordinary Erusean citizen.
He was then accepted into the Air Force Academy, by order from the King.
Mihaly soon became an ace pilot. When the royal family was ousted and Erusea became a republic, he continued his service for the new regime.
Back at the EASA Air Base...
Test sites soon flourished.
One day, a classmate of Mihaly's granddaughter visited.
A Royal plane arrived, boarding in it was the Princess.
Schroeder: I noticed the rose emblem.
She laughed like a princess and I found out later, she was indeed the daughter of Erusea's new ruler.
She was the connection to the royal bloodline everyone was looking for. The one to restore the monarchy.
Mihaly's granddaughters and Rosa present the princess manner etiquette.
Schroeder: This new Princess was truly a godsend for the Erusean people.
If Mihaly's granddaughters were the moon, she was like the sun, around which everything seemed to orbit.
Her face was so expressive. It's no wonder the people of this war-torn country instantly felt at ease when they saw her speeches.
As Princess Rosa and Mihaly's granddaughter continue to talk, they started something else.
They started singing.
The pilots of the support planes smiled, even though they wished their nation were independent from hers.
Angelic…
I wonder how Mihaly felt about all of this?
It was my job to research his neurological data, after all.
As Mihaly watch her granddaughters sing, Schroeder watches over him.
I wish I could figure him out. Whatever his feelings were about losing his homeland, he kept hidden. Even from me.
Several hours later, at the cafe.
Mihaly is still thinking much of recovering his homeland until Sol Squadron members Seymour and Wit arrive with some news.
Wit: Mihaly, do you heard about this rumour?
Mihaly: What kind of rumour?
Seymour: A unidentified Air Division is somewhere in Erusea, setting up an base close to a penal air base.
Wit: It said that they are coming from a ancient feudal modern nation known as Satsuma.
Mihaly: Satsuma? I never heard about that.
Seymour: This modern and traditional nation's people are a very honorable on their duty in the military.
Wit: We got some winds that a Idol Division is somewhere unknown.
Seymour: Idols? Aren't the people who normally goes to present people and sing into a concert?
Wit: Yeah, those. But these ones are different, but they are named School Idols.
Seymour: School Idols? Those are school girls who also sing and dance in a concert?
Wit: Yeah, these ones.
Mihaly: Hmmmm... How old are the School Idol girls piloting?
Wit: Around 14 to 17, I believe.
Seymour: Shall we challenge them and shoot these girls down?
Mihaly: No. We are going to challenge them, but we must not shoot the girls.
Wit: We are not allowed to shoot? Why?
Mihaly: They remind me like my granddaughters, and they have a young life on their hands.
Seymour: Shooting on children is really beyond insanity.
Mihaly: I agree with Seymour. So boys. Our mission is simple. We are going to shoot the enemy aircraft that are attacking us, but not going to attack the School Idols.
We might challenge them in an airshow, but we do not engage them.
Seymour and Wit: Understood. We shall inform our squadron that we are engaging the Oseans and challenge the Satsuma warriors for a beautiful airshow.
