Chapter 12 Break 2
Tony's point of view
At dinner, Pepper and I sat with her godfather and cousins.
"Where is your mother?" Vince asked Stephanie "She and I need to have a conversation"
"I don't think she was invited to this" Stephanie admitted
"I thought I saw her earlier" Vince replied
"That might have been wishful thinking" said Paul
"Maybe you're right and maybe trying to fix things between her and I is not a good idea." said Vince
"She is your soulmate" Shawn reminded Vince
"Yes she is." Vince admitted
"So why has she always treated you like shit?" Shane interjected angrily
"I don't know" Vince replied
"You don't deserve that from her Dad. Stop enabling it." said Shane, he was becoming more and more angry. I think he was thinking of what Marissa did to him.
"You're right Shane, I don't, but I always allowed it to keep the peace in the house."
"That has the hallmarks of your best friend written all over it"
"Yes it does. I went to him for advice and he told me to try my best to keep the peace, so I have but now that peace is shattered."
Bruce's point of view
Betty was sitting alone. She was trembling uncontrollably.
"Hey. Mind if I join you?" I asked and she shook her head, she scooted along the bench a little and I sat next to her. That was all it took for the dam to break. She told me everything.
"I was wrong about everything Bruce"
"No you weren't."
"I am so confused. I don't know what I should do…"
"Well… what if we…"
