Prologue

Thanos snapped his fingers, and Thor was awestruck at what had just happened.

"What did you do? What did you do!?!" Thor screamed horrifically.

But Thanos didn't answer. Suddenly he grasped his gauntlet, a portal opened, and he was gone.

Thor was horrified. He failed to kill the mad titan, the man who killed Heimdall, the man who killed half of his people, the man who killed his brother Loki.

"Where is he? Thor?" said a voice from behind him, the voice of Steve Rogers. But Thor didn't respond, he felt a great pain in his body. Then all of a sudden, he dissolved into dust.

Steve watched in horror as he watched Thor dissolve.

What happened to him? Steve thought to himself. Then he looked around and saw Natasha Romanof who had just gotten up from the ground after attempting to charge after Thanos, Bruce Banner, who was out of the Hulk Buster armor, rocket and groot, and Wanda who was crouched down at visions dead body.

Then suddenly, Natasha gave a Yelp of pain and fell on her knees.

"Are you alright Nat?" Bruce asked Natasha. But she never got the chance to respond, because she too dissolved into dust.

Then, Bruce clutched his stomach as if he was having a massive stomach ache. He fell to the ground and dissolved into dust.

Wanda, who had now taken her eyes off of Vision's dead body, saw what was happening and was utterly speechless.

Groot and Rocket were standing at a branch together, when all of a sudden, rocket began to feel a sense of pain.

"Oh man," Rocket said to Groot, "I don't feel so good." Then Rocket disappeared into the thin air.

Groot, having seen what happened, said, "I am groot?" ("Rocket?")

T'challa knelt down at Okoye and was about to say something to her, but right before he could even put the words out, she disappeared as well.

Sam got up from the ground after being forced down by Thanos, but as he got up, he saw Rhodey, who was standing right across from him, vanish within seconds.

Suddenly, as Steve was viewing his fellow teammates dissolve into dust, he felt a great pain in his body. So great that he dropped his shield and fell down on his knees.

When Bucky saw this, he knew something was wrong with him. He rushed over to Steve and knelt down in front of him.

"Hey Steve, you alright?" Bucky asked Steve.

"Bucky," Steve muttered through a weak and painful voice. Then he looked at his friend right in the eye, and dissolved into dust.

Bucky could not believe what he had just seen. Watching his friend dissolve into dust the way he did.

He looked around and saw that Sam was in a panic, and Wanda was now standing up, unable to take in what just happened.

"What's happening?" Bucky asked desperately. But no one answered. Everyone was grief stricken after watching their loved ones dissolve into dust.

There was great pain and defeat on the planet titan. Everyone had just lost to the mad titan Thanos.

Tony stark was lying on the ground, trying to heal his stab wounds given to him by Thanos. Doctor strange was just sitting quietly. Peter quill was being assisted by mantis. He looked angry and torn apart.

Earlier on he learned that someone named Gamora had been killed by Thanos. Tony didn't know who Gamora was, but after the way Quill attacked Thanos, she must have been someone very important to him. A good friend perhaps.

Peter Parker came and assisted Tony on his feet, but they took it slow, because Tony was badly wounded.

"Something has happened," Mantis said in a soft voice of despair.

Suddenly, Nebula breathed in a jolt of pain, then dissolved into dust.

Everyone who saw what happened to Nebula were completely awestruck.

Then, Tony felt great pain in his stomach. A pain that was far worse than a stomach ache. Then he began feeling it inside his entire body.

Tony fell to the ground in agony.

"Mr stark?" Peter said, kneeling down at Tony. "Mr. Stark are you alright?"

Now feeling the aching pain, Tony clutched his hand onto Peter's shoulder.

"Mr. Stark, what's wrong?!" Peter said in a panic, not knowing how to help Tony.

Tony looked Peter dead in the eye and said, "Peter, I'm sorry." Then he became nothing but dust that now flew through the air, blinding Peter.

For a brief second, Peter's very soul was torn apart. He had just watched the man who trained him to become Spider-Man, the man he looked up to, vanish from existence, as if he were having some terrible nightmare that he would wake up from any moment. But he never did. This was real, and there was nothing Peter could do to change that.

Despair, sorrow, and guilt were flowing through Peter's veins. He sat back against a rock and stared at the orange sky, almost in tears. Tony was gone. Gone in just a blink of an eye.

"What just happened?" Peter said, almost through sobs.

"He snapped," Mantis said through a shrill voice, "Thanos snapped."

Thanos was now sitting on the porch of his shed watching the beautiful sunset. As he watched it go down, as he watched it slowly disappear out of sight, he felt a great sense of victory. He had won. The long and hard journey to eliminating half of life was finally complete.

As the last ray of sunlight faded away, he smiled in satisfaction, and finally had the one thing he always wanted all his life. Peace.
