Boku no Hero Academia: Custodian Izuku
Disclaimer: This is a crossover fanfiction story of 'Boku no Hero Academia' and 'Warhammer 40k' (yes, really). I own nothing of the two series other than the fanfiction stories that I make.
I am making this story for the sake of fun, fluff and awesome after writing a one-shot story of the same story concept. If I am able to somehow impress fans of Warhammer 40k or even move someone to tears, even better.
Also, if anyone wants to know how in the world I got this idea in the first place, please refer to the artist, Ryuusei (Mark II), who has made some awesome pictures of gender-bent primarchs. The link is: .us/pools/17320
Please note that while I am familiar with the Warhammer 40k setting, my actual knowledge of it is casual at best. Also, if the genderbent primarchs seem at least a bit OOC, please kindly consider the fact that their bodies (especially the traitor primarchs) have changed drastically after entering Izuku's world.
In case anyone asks how much crack I was taking in to come up with the idea, I am just going to say enough to make even a loyalist Adaptus Astartes trippy.
Chapter 5: Council of Angels
It was evening and the former primarchs present at U.A. High School gathered in a hall that had been temporarily converted into a meeting room with Izuku, Inko, Eri, Nedzu, Naomasa, Hizashi, Shouta, Nemuri, Ken and Mirai. Mirai sat next to Naomasa and was alternating between glaring at Lion and Curze who were seated far apart. Curze, who was seated next to Angron, was holding Eri in her arms while the little girl was seated onto her lap. Izuku was seated between Angron and Inko and he looked worriedly at Angron who was clearly tense around the new arrivals. Sanguinius, Russ, Vulkan, Dorn and Jaghatai separated Lion, Guilliman, Ferrus, Corax and Icarian from the former traitors primarchs and the local civilians while Nedzu, Naomasa, Hizashi, Shouta, Nemuri, Ken and Mirai were seated in front of them.
"Well… this is awkward," said Russ who was honestly surprised that so many of her former primarch sisters had ended up at U.A. High School. She was also quite certain that, judging by his knowing smirk when he noticed her looking at him, Nedzu was internally gloating that his "housing preparation" was as he had predicted.
"Now that we have all gathered here, I would like to first thank our new arrivals for not putting up any further resistance after coming to this school," said Nedzu who was indeed feeling a little smug about making the right decision for the former primarchs' dorm. He then said, "I would also like to apologise for any discomfort caused by the restraining manacles that you are now wearing."
Curze, Lion, Guilliman, Ferrus, Corax and Icarian were wearing manacles on their wrists that suppressed their quirks, acted as tracking beacons and would give off shrill alarms when they leave school grounds or try to use their quirks without authorisation.
Mirai's frown deepened as he spoke, "It's the least they can do after the courtesy you've given to them in spite of their actions."
Well aware of the real reasons why Mirai was upset, namely the terror caused by Curze's murderous acts and Lion actually harming All Might, Nedzu turned his attention towards him and said, "While I understand your reluctance to forgive Curze and Lion, please understand that I intend to have them here as wards of my school and I refuse to let you antagonise them without proper justification."
"The terror caused by Curze's single act of murder and the potential loss of faith in pro-heroes due to Lion harming All Might, an act which had been caught on camera no less, are reason enough," argued Mirai.
"Perhaps, but I suggest judging them AFTER we hear what they have to say," argued Nedzu.
Shouta frowned as he recalled Ferrus' rant earlier that day and asked, "Those girls… are not even from this planet, are they?"
"Both yes, and no," confirmed Nedzu who then explained, "They come from a very different version of Earth with a society that has recently reached the end of its 42nd millennium."
A moment of silence passed before Mirai asked, "Are you saying that they come from the future?"
"Not quite," answered Sanguinius who then explained, "By observing your version of the immaterium, we are able to confirm that this version of Terra is very different from the one we came from. It's more likely that two universes were originally separate, in both space and time, from one another until recently."
"What's the immaterium?" asked Nemuri.
"It is, to put it simply, the source of souls and the place where souls go to when their bodies die," explained Sanguinius.
"It's also apparently the true source of the powers that you local folks refer to as 'quirks'," said Russ.
Shocked by the revelations, Shouta turned his attention towards Hizashi and asked, "How in the hell did you manage to keep information of THAT magnitude a secret from me and Nemuri for over a week?"
"Honestly, I spent most of that time helping those six girls get adjusted to this world while coming to terms with what I know about them," replied Hizashi.
"So, let me get this straight," said Ken while massaging his forehead, "The six girls who have been staying with us for just over a week, as well as the girls who caused all that ruckus earlier today, are actually from a different version of Earth that is not only REALLY far into the future but also has some form of interstellar space travel and is at least partially aware of the actual afterlife. Is there anything else that I'm missing here?"
Nedzu smiled as he cheerfully added, "For starters, all of these girls were once men who were literal demigod super-soldiers. They were also created by a man who had, for a lack of a more easily-understood term, a 'quirk' so powerful that he would later be known as the God Emperor of Mankind. The threats that their people, the Imperium of Man, have already faced included alien threats that they collectively call 'xenos' and actual demonic threats from the immaterium known as 'daemons'."
A moment of silence passed before Ken buried his face into his hands and groaned, "I had to ask…!"
"I assume that the higher-ups from the HPSC already know about this," said Shouta.
"Indeed," said a middle-aged woman who walked into the hall while her two personal bodyguards stood guard outside. Known as the Madam President of the HPSC, she had ash-blond hair that was slicked back and turquoise eyes. Her normally-stoic face almost became fearful when she saw Sanguinius but she was able to control herself before she spoke to Nedzu, "I assume that you intend to keep the new girls under your care?"
Nedzu nodded and said, "I'm already preparing a 'Villain and Vigilante Reform Program' for them. The class will be designated as 'Class V'."
"That will work," said Madam President who did not want a repeat of the fiasco with Sanguinius. She still had nightmares of facing a furious Sanguinius, who was literally radiating a fury that seemed downright divine while floating in the air, and being judged as unworthy.
"Are there anyone else who knows about this?" asked Mirai.
Nedzu shook his head and said, "We've kept the spread of the actual truth to a minimum to prevent potential panic among the civilians and possible interference from villains or other world powers. That being said, I intend to inform All Might later so that he is up to speed about the situation."
Mirai nodded and said, "You may want to consider informing the rest of All Might's closest allies as well."
"What about the rest of the staff here?" asked Nemuri who then added, "Surely they deserve to know about this as well."
"While I do not intend to inform all of them, at least a few of them will be informed on a need-to-know basis," said Nedzu who knew that a certain pro-hero and teacher named Power Loader deserved to know. After all, both Vulkan and Dorn had expressed interest in taking part in the support course.
"If I may interject," said Madam President who then explained, "I intend to have one pro-hero work stationed here to keep an eye on the girls on behalf of the HPSC."
"I assume that he will be informed of the situation while he works here on your behalf," said Nedzu.
Madam President nodded and said, "I doubt you will have anything against letting Hawks work here on our behalf."
Nedzu raised his brow and asked, "Isn't he one of your best pro-hero agents?"
"Which is exactly why we want him to take part in this," answered Madam President.
Nedzu hummed for a moment before he nodded and said, "Very well, I will accept letting him work in U.A. High School with us." His eyes shone with amusement as he added, "However, do not be surprised if rumours of him being related to Sanguinius start to increase three-fold, at minimum, when he starts working here."
Madam President groaned with a sigh, "Those rumours may be little more than mild annoyances but they are still bloody troublesome to deal with."
Confused, Sanguinius tilted her head and asked, "Why would the local people here assume that I'm related to that person, Hawks?" Although she was intelligent and becoming increasingly familiar with the Japanese language, she still did not use the internet very much and only read the newspapers or watched television for any information about the former primarchs that were still unaccounted for.
Izuku smiled sheepishly and explained, "Well, just like you, he has feathered wings and blond hair."
Quickly realising the reasons for the rumours, Sanguinius sighed while Russ, Dorn, Vulkan and Jaghatai chuckled at her expense. Even Angron and Guilliman smirked in amusement before the latter turned her attention towards Nedzu and asked, "Do you intend to put us all in 'Class V'?"
"To put it simply, yes," said Nedzu who then explained, "While it is true that not all of you have committed any crimes, at least not after coming here, the cover story already states that six of you have recently experienced a traumatic event that caused you to suffer from memory issues and be displaced from somewhere else. We can use the same back-story for the rest of you and propose a 'theory' that you were once forced to work for a villain who had a mind manipulation quirk that affected not only your memories but also your very perception of reality."
Madam President nodded and said, "It will also prevent people from thinking too much about Ferrus' statements during her breakdown earlier today."
Guilliman pouted as she thought, "That idea can work. After all, the Ruinous Powers have a tendency to corrupt the way people think."
"Are you seriously proposing that we accept a cover story that portrays us as former servants of the Ruinous Powers?" asked Lion who was clearly displeased by the idea.
"Unless you intend to reveal the actual truth to the local people, having a cover story will be necessary," argued Guilliman who then pointed her thumb at Angron and Curze and said, "Besides, repentant as they may seem be right now, they were former servants of Chaos and we're related to them as fellow former primarchs."
Lion glared at Guilliman before she huffed and said, "Very well, but do not think for even a moment that I like this plan."
Vulkan raised an eyebrow and asked Nedzu, "While I understand the logic of having us all attend the same class, especially since it will keep the chances of the actual truth being revealed to everyone else at a minimum, I recall a certain conversation that involved myself and Dorn thinking of joining the support course."
Nedzu smiled as he replied, "You remember correctly, Vulkan. I plan to allow students from Class V take part in lessons from the other courses to not only help them 'reintegrate back into society' but also form connections with 'potential future associates'. Of course, with the exception of the general course, you will still have to qualify for the lessons just like any other student."
Dorn rubbed her chin thoughtfully and asked "Is there a limit to how many additional lessons we can take?"
"Given the time constraints, never mind the fact that you still have to attend the 'reform program course', I'm afraid that you will be limited to just one additional course," said Nedzu who then smiled and added, "That being said, I see no reason to deny you all a chance to do physical and even combat training as a form of 'recreation'."
"That's good to know," said Jaghatai who honestly dreaded the idea of being forced to sit in one place all day.
"What are the courses that your school offers?" asked Guilliman who was honestly curious.
"Well, this school offers four main courses which are the 'hero course', the 'support course', the 'management course' and the 'general course'. The Villain and Vigilante Reform Program will become the basis of a new fifth course that is similar to the general course but with greater emphasis on 'moral reform' and the unique option of taking part in additional classes from any one of the other four courses."
"In other words, we can take part in additional classes from the hero, support, management or general courses," said Guilliman.
"That's correct," confirmed Nedzu.
"What kinds of specialised classes do the hero, support and managements courses offer?" asked Guilliman.
'The hero-course, as you can imagine, offers you training that allows you to become a pro-hero upon graduation. Normally, graduates will start out as side-kicks of more experienced pro-heroes though. As for the support course, it deals with making support gear for pro-heroes while the managements course deals with the business aspect of the pro-hero industry," explained Nedzu.
"What of the general course? What does it offer that the other three do not?" asked Guilliman.
"The general course is mostly for those who wish to obtain a college education and other pursuits which are not necessarily related to the pro-hero industry," answered Nedzu who then added, "Some examples include art, music, medical science and literature."
Mirai sighed as he grumbled, "Enough with the irrelevant sidetracking. I want to know how these girls even got here in the first place and whether we need to worry about any more of them."
"To be perfectly honest, none of us really know how coming to this version of Terra is even possible," admitted Sanguinius.
Icarian nodded and said, "The two lost primarchs, myself included, died before the Horus Heresy even started and yet we somehow ended up here at the same time as the others who only perished at the end of the 42nd millenium."
"As for how many of us there are, the Emperor only created twenty of us so there should only be a eight more former primarchs who are not present here," said Guilliman who then listed, "The eight of them are the second lost primarch, Gwalchavad, and the remaining traitors: Alpharius, Magnus, Fulgrim, Mortarion, Perturabo, Lorgar and Horus."
"With that being said, Magnus has claimed that she, Fulgrim, Mortarion and Perturabo have no interest in returning to the services of the Ruinous Powers so they probably won't cause any serious trouble any time soon," said Sanguinius.
Lion snorted at Sanguinius' claim while Corax growled, "Even if those four genuinely refuse to return to the service of the Chaos Gods, the same cannot bot said about Lorgar."
Guilliman nodded and said, "Of the eight former primarchs who are still on the loose, Lorgar and Horus are the ones that I am most worried about."
"Why those two in particular?" asked Mirai.
"Lorgar is, to put it simply, someone who desperately wants a god to worship," explained Guilliman who then grimaced as she recalled the destruction of a certain city known as Monarchia and added, "Back when Lorgar was a primarch, he was essentially given a choice between not having a god and four evil gods of Chaos to worship and he chose the latter. I doubt even coming to this world will change that mindset and, if we are able to come to this world by chance, then it is possible for the agents of the Ruinous Powers to come here through Lorgar's machinations."
"As for Horus, he was the chosen champion of all four Chaos Gods during the Horus Heresy," said Lion who then grimly added, "He was also the one who almost killed the Emperor and caused the entire Imperium of Man to enter a dark age of endless war."
Sensing the growing unease, Naomasa said, "Even as we speak, the police force are keeping an eye out for any girl who seems, to put it simply, out of place. They are also already aware of Magnus, Fulgrim, Mortarion and Perturabo."
Mirai nodded at Naomasa and said, "Hopefully, finding the remaining ones will not take too long."
"Speaking of the Ruinous Powers and their champions," said Lion who then turned her attention towards Izuku and asked, "How did you manage to keep Angron under control and convince the others to tolerate her?"
Izuku frowned as he replied, "What do you mean? I've never tried to keep Angron under control and the others were already willing to accept her since the day I met her."
Guilliman raised an eyebrow and asked, "Are you actually claiming that you've done nothing to keep Angron calm and not lash out at anyone?"
Realising what the conversation was about to lead to, Izuku and Angron blushed while Inko, Sanguinius, Vulkan, Dorn and Jaghatai started to chuckle. As for Russ, she snorted as she tried to keep her laughter contained.
Confused by the reactions, Lion frowned and asked, "What's so funny?"
Both Izuku and Angron refused to look at anyone in the eyes while Russ wore a broad grin and said, "Let's just say that while Izuku has never tried to actually control Angron, he honestly doesn't need to."
Seeing the growing confusion in Guilliman, Lion, Ferrus, Corax, Icarian and even Curze, Vulkan explained, "To put it a bit more simply, he's just an ordinary yet brave boy who chose to be kind to her even when she was blinded by rage and grief when she first arrived here over a week ago."
"You could say that his ability to calm her rage with a caring touch and a few kind words is part of the reason why we're convinced that she had, if nothing else, the potential to be far better than her past self," said Sanguinius.
Corax's eyes widened before she asked, "Do you mean to imply that he keeps her calm with… hugs and the like of all things?"
Russ chortled and said, "That's one way to put it!"
Guilliman, Lion, Corax and Ferrus could feel their jaws drop at the shocking revelation. The idea of Izuku calming Angron with nothing but a hug and a few kind words was as absurd a concept for them as the idea of defeating the forces of Slaanesh by peacefully preaching the virtues of moderation to them.
"I have pictures of Angron-chan hugging my son if you're still not convinced," said Inko who was clearly smiling mischievously.
"M-mom!" yelled Izuku was was understandably mortified.
Curze looked at Izuku before she turned her attention towards the still-blushing Angron and asked, "No. Nightmares. When. Hugging?"
It took a moment for Angron to understand Curze's question and asked with a knowing expression, "Is it the same for you?"
Curze nodded and said, "Hugging. Eri. Sleep. Easier."
"Me too," said Eri who then added, "My nightmares of mama abandoning me and Overhaul hurting me become less scary when I know that Curze-neesan is around." The implications of her statement was not lost to the rest of the people in the hall.
"You… really care for her, don't you, Curze?" asked Angron who was clearly being rhetorical.
Curze nodded and said, "I. Traitor. Monster. Villain. She. Cares."
"Then why did you try to bring her here?" asked Angron.
Curze wore a bitter smile and said, "I. Bad. Choice. Vulkan. Better."
Vulkan's eyes widened as she asked Curze, "Are you implying that you wanted to come here because you believed that I would be a better caretaker for the child than you?"
Curze nodded and explained, "You. Tortured. Many. Times. Like. Her." She then had a bitter expression on her face as she added, "I. Torturer. Like. Overhaul. I'm. Not. Worthy."
A moment of stunned silence passed before Vulkan sighed and said, "While I can see the logic of your decision and praise you for your desire to help your young charge, I'm afraid that I'm not as worthy as you think." She then smiled as she asked Eri, "Am I?"
Eri frowned as she spoke, "She said that you're a very good person, but she's the one who saved me." Her small hands held onto Curze more tightly as she added with a sniffle, "I… don't want her to go away."
"And she won't have to," assured Nedzu before he kindly added, "In fact, you can stay here with her and the others."
"Even the ones who wanted to hurt her?" asked Eri who glanced nervously as the former primarchs that went after her and Curze earlier that day. Although Lion seemed unrepentant, the other four felt at least a little guilty.
"Yes, unfortunately, but please understand that they believed that Curze was the same person she was before coming here," said Nedzu.
Angron nodded as she spoke to Eri, "Before we came here, both Curze and I were very bad people. Coming here changed us, made us stop thinking that the only way to live was to be bad."
"So you feel bad about hurting people?" asked Eri.
"If they don't deserve it, then yes," answered Angron.
Curze nodded and said, "I. Only. Killed. Four. Here."
"Curze's speaking the truth," said Naomasa. Those who knew about Naomasa's quirk realised that Curze had only killed Overhaul and his three men after being reborn as a girl.
"Then you're nicer than Overhaul," said Eri with the surety of someone who had personally witnessed remorseless evil. Both Angron and Curze smiled bitterly as they knew that, as horrible as Overhaul was, he was not responsible for the deaths of millions if not trillions.
Suddenly, the loud grumbling of hungry bellies could be heard.
Everyone turned their attention towards Guilliman, Lion, Ferrus, Corax and Icarian who were blushing. Shouta raised an eyebrow and asked, "Are you five feeling hungry again even after that big meal you have eaten already?"
"We… were trying to keep a low profile so we only ate and drank enough to prevent starvation," explained Corax.
"You. Didn't. Eat. Rats. Birds. Trash?" asked Curze who seemed genuinely surprised.
While the local people, including Eri who had to convince Curze to eat some stolen food instead of a live rat raw, wore disgusted expressions, Guilliman explained, "Our current bodies are not like our original primarch forms so we didn't want to risk falling sick while surviving on an unfamiliar world."
"We also decided to skip meals and rest for a whole day so that we would be able to catch up with Curze before she could reach this place," said Icarian who then grimaced and added, "While we did manage to catch up with her as planned and predicated, it also made us more vulnerable to being defeated by the local pro-heroes."
Mirai's whole body stiffened as he realised the terrifying implication that Lion, who was able to wound All Might to the point of making him bleed by attacking his old injury, was essentially running on fumes at the time. Had the girl been in better condition and more willing to fight All Might seriously, there was a very real chance that Lion could have inflicted significantly more damage to the pro-hero. He was far from the only one to realise how dangerous the former primarchs could become even though they were weaker than their original selves.
"If it makes you five feel any better, Present Mic, Midnight and I have seen the six girls spar with one another and have even participated in a few of their spars so it can be argued that we have at least some idea on how to fight you effectively," said Shouta who grimaced at the memory of being soundly beaten by Angron in spite of having both of her arms restrained by his capture weapon. The girl's absurd natural strength was such as Shouta had to let go of his weapon to avoid being swung around like a rag doll that was tied onto the end of a long piece of ribbon.
"Our circumstances at the time do not change the fact that we, who were once the demigod primarch champions of the Imperium, were defeated by the local law enforcers," said Lion who was clearly bitter about her defeat and wanted a proper rematch.
"If you do not mind waiting for a bit, I can have some light snacks and drinks prepared while we continue with this conversation," suggested Nedzu.
"That… would be appreciated," said Guilliman who was ashamed of her apparent inability to resist her hunger.
Before long, snacks and drinks were served while everyone in the meeting discussed about what they knew about the former primarch's home universe and the last-known state of the Imperium. As the information which Nedzu and the few others who knew the truth was generally true, there was little to correct. Even so, there were a number of details to add to the story of the former primarchs including details of Guilliman's uneasy alliance with a faction of elf-like aliens known as the Aeldari. By the time the meeting was over, it was well past midnight and, understandably, nearly everyone went straight to bed.
-On the following morning…-
Izuku opened his eyes drowsily and then yawned before he took in his surroundings. As usual, he was sleeping on Angron's bed with the large and muscular girl holding him in her arms as the "big spoon". Ever since he started living in his new home, which Dorn had decided to dub as the 'Imperial Dorm', Angron had consistently asked him to sleep with her. The sight of Angron blushing shyly while twiddling her fingers together when she asked Izuku to sleep in her room with her for the first time was a memory that he would treasure for as long as his very soul existed.
In theory, Angron could sleep with Izuku in his room but she disliked the idea of sleeping while being surrounded by so much All Might merchandise. Never mind the risk of accidentally damaging the said merchandise, the idea of trying to sleep while being surrounded by so many grinning faces honestly unnerved her. Although everyone in the dorm, as well as a number of teachers, knew that Angron simply wanted someone to comfort her in her sleep, Izuku was admittedly worried about the nigh-unavoidable day when people would get the wrong idea about him sleeping with her in her room.
Unlike the previous days, Curze and Eri were sleeping on a futon mattress that was placed onto the flood next to Angron's bed. Since Eri was uneasy around the former primarchs who tried to kill Curze, never mind the obvious issue of putting Curze with the said primarchs together on the same floor, it was decided that Curze would stay on the second floor instead. Russ volunteered to give up her room, which was next to Inko's room, to Curze and Eri for them to stay in while she moved to a room on the third floor. The only request Russ had was to have one additional room for her own personal use.
It did not take long for those who knew about Russ' current inability to buy alcoholic drinks to realise that she was planning to somehow build her own personal brewery.
As a result, Izuku and Inko's rooms were opposite of one another and were closest to the exits of the second floor. Angron's room, as stated previously, was next to Izuku's room followed by Vulkan and Dorn's rooms. Curze and Eri's room, which originally belonged to Russ, was next to Inko's room followed by Sanguinius and Jaghatai's rooms. As for the third floor, the two rooms that were closest to its exits belonged to Lion and Guilliman respectively. Corax's room was located between Lion and Icarian's rooms while Ferrus' room was located between Guilliman and Russ' rooms. Russ' personal brewery was located next to her room at the farthest end of the third floor.
Since the new arrivals did not have much in terms of personal belongings, it was decided that everyone in the Imperial Dorm would have lunch at Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall followed by buying clothes and other necessities for them. Of course, since "vigilantes and criminals" would be present, two pro-heroes who worked at U.A. High School would have to follow the group to keep an eye on them. Hawks, who was going to work at the school before long anyway, was chosen to keep an eye on the shoppers together with Ken.
-Later that afternoon, at Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall…-
A young man with a slim build, feathery ash-blond hair, thick eyebrows, a faint stubble on his chin, triangular golden-brown eyes that resembled the eyes of a bird and a pair of large bright-red feathered wings suddenly landed next to a bus which was from U.A. High School. He smiled at the people who came out of the bus and said, "Yo, I've heard that one of the lovely ladies here can be mistaken as a relative of mine so I came over to see her for myself!"
"Oh, my gosh! It's the Wing Hero, Hawks!" exclaimed Izuku who was clearly excited to see a pro-hero who was rapidly gaining popularity.
"You must be Izuku, the one who helped the girls who appeared in that forest over a week ago," said the winged young man named Takami Keigo who was also a pro-hero named Hawks. He then noticed Sanguinius and, after a moment of surprise, whistled and said, "Damn, I can't imagine why anyone would mistake you as my relative. You're way too good-looking to be related to an average Joe like me."
Sanguinius smiled at Keigo's statement and said, "If you keep saying things like that, some people will become even more convinced that we're somehow related, Hawks."
"Yeah, I can see that happening," said Keigo. In truth, the rumours of him and Sanguinius being related had steadily grown in popularity from the moment she appeared at the shopping mall for the first time. While the rumours were troublesome, if amusing at times, they were at least nowhere near as humiliating as the recent memes of Death Arms getting run over by the girls who were caught on the day before. The unlucky pro-hero was understandably bitter about the memes of his admittedly comedic humiliation.
Lion frowned as she spoke, "Enough pointless talk. We're here to have our afternoon meal and obtain basic necessities for ourselves. The sooner we're done here, the sooner we can avoid any possible confrontations with anyone who may see us as enemies."
"Whoa, I've heard that you're hard as nails but you're even more humourless and serious than I have expected," said Keigo.
"And I expected better from the one who has the potential to be the third greatest pro-hero in all of Japan," said Lion.
Keigo did a wounded pose as he spoke, "Ouch! You're not one to mince words, do you?"
"No," was Lion's blunt reply.
"Ah, stop being such a hard-ass, Lion!" said Russ while wrapping an arm around Lion's shoulder. She the grinned at her and said, "I mean, even Curze's getting better at being chill than you!"
Lion scowled at the memory of how shocked she felt when she saw Curze smiling softly at Eri for the first time before she growled as Russ, "I don't 'chill', Russ!"
Russ took her arm off Lion but her teasing grin never left her face as she spoke, "Whatever you say, sourpuss!"
Guilliman sighed with a pout and then said, "Lion's overly grim statement aside, she does have a point. Besides ourselves, we have three civilians who are less capable of defending themselves than us. Even if we're able to protect both them and ourselves, it'll be foolish to tempt fate."
"Not only that, but it seems that a number of the locals do not like us very much," said Corax who noted a few onlookers were either fearful or displeased by the presence of the former primarchs who were wearing manacles on their wrists.
Sensing the growing tension as well, Angron frowned and said, "We should keep going before anyone tries anything stupid."
As there was no reason to dally, everyone in the group went to have lunch at the same food court where Izuku, Inko and Nemuri had lunch with six of the former primarchs. While lunch was unsurprisingly more tense than before, the tension was thankfully less severe that it could have been due to Nedzu's public announcement which was made earlier that morning. In the announcement, Nedzu explained that the six girls who got caught by pro-heroes on the day before were victims of an unidentified villain who could manipulate their very perception of reality. Combined with the revelation that the four men whom Curze murdered were yakuza members who abused a young child during the same announcement, Nedzu was able to prevent the general public from unanimously deeming the girls as villains to be hated or feared. Even so, some people still feared or distrusted them and it was doubtful that their opinions would change any time soon. The announcement also gave the implication that eight more girls, who had endured the same circumstances as the twelve girls currently staying at U.A. High School, were still unaccounted for.
In spite of the tension, no one dared to provoke the wrath of both Ken and Keigo. As a result, the winged pro-hero was relaxed enough to grin at Izuku and ask, "So, I've heard that you've been staying with the first six girls for a while now. How's it like living every horny guy's wet dream?"
Izuku almost chocked on his mouthful of ramen noodles before he managed to swallow it and exclaim, "I-it's not like that, Hawks!"
Vulkan chuckled and said, "While Izuku's not wrong, one can argue that his situation is still worthy of envy."
Keigo's grin widened as he asked, "Oh, how so?"
"Well, on the second day of our stay in the dorm, we did quite a bit of physical training together for most of the day. We all took a bath together after that," said Vulkan.
Keigo's eyes widened as he asked, "Wait… you're telling me that he bathed with you ladies, at the same time?"
Russ snickered as she corrected the winged pro-hero, "More like we carried him into the bathroom to bathe with us since he was too tired to even try running away from us after we suggested the idea to him."
Keigo stared with his jaw wide open while Izuku blushed and recalled what happened that day…
-Flashback to a few days ago…-
It was the second day of Izuku's stay at his new home with Inko and the six former primarchs. With the possibility of Curze deciding to attack them, the former primarchs did more physical training than usual to keep their combat skills sharp. Not surprisingly, Izuku joined them in their training and did his best to somehow keep up with them. By the time the girls' physical training was over, he was exhausted. Understandably, he wanted to take a bath before taking his dinner and then rest for the rest of the evening. However, the girls rejected his suggestion to let them take their bath first while he waited for his turn.
"I-it's not appropriate!" exclaimed Izuku who struggled feebly while being carried bridal-style by Angron. Had he been able to run, he would have tried to flee as quickly as his legs allowed him. Alas, he was so exhausted that he could barely walk and was thus as helpless as an exhausted toddler when the six girls decided to take him into the bathroom with them.
"Come on, we may be girls now but we used to be men in the past. You have nothing we haven't seen before!" said Russ while grinning cheekily at Izuku.
"T-that doesn't make it any less awkward!" argued Izuku while hiding his blushing face with his hands.
Vulkan smiled at Izuku and said, "It may be embarrassing, but you should consider it as a different form of training. After all, one does not need to be a cultist of Slaanesh to use sex appeal to gain an advantage during a fight."
Jaghatai chuckled as she spoke to Izuku, "Never mind a cultist of Slaanesh, a pretty half-naked maiden from a feral world will be enough to defeat you through sheer embarrassment with the way you are now."
Unable to deny the fact that some villains actually used their sex appeal as a means of defeating pro-heroes, Izuku whined in embarrassment as the girls took him into the bathroom together. Inko, who witnessed the whole scene, chuckled as she knew that Izuku would be fine while bathing with them.
In spite of Izuku's valiant efforts to avoid ogling at the six girls, the images of their attractively nude and wet bodies, as well as the sensation of Angron's strong yet gentle hands as she washed his hair and back, were permanently seared into his mind, if not his very soul.
-Back to the present…-
It took a whole minute for Keigo to get over his shock before he turned his attention towards Izuku and said, "Midoriya-kun, I can say with absolute certainty as both a pro-hero and a man that horny men and boys would have committed murder to be in that position." Mentally, he added, "Horny lesbians and bisexuals too for that matter."
Ken blushed as he thought, "So that's why Midoriya-san and Midnight were giggling so much the other day."
Izuku's bright-red face seemed to be steaming as he meekly said, "I… tried to refuse their offer."
"Not that I think that you're lying, but I doubt many will believe you," said Keigo who noticed a petite girl with a slender build, lazy-looking onyx eyes, short dark-purple hair and a pair of long plug-like earphone jacks hanging from her earlobes. Judging by her blushing face, she probably heard everything that they had said earlier.
Ken coughed to get everyone's attention and said, "Anyway, we should finish our meals before they turn cold."
After everyone had their lunch, they made their way to the same clothes shop where six of the former primarchs had bought their clothes. Recognising the shop, Corax turned her attention towards Inko and asked, "I have to ask, how did you manage to get Angron to wear THAT pink dress?"
Inko giggled and said, "I simply asked her to try it on because I thought that it would look cute on her."
"Wait, you don't have some kind of abhuman ability that allows you to persuade people to do your bidding?" asked Ferrus.
"No, my quirk only allows me to attract small things," replied Inko.
Guilliman, Lion, Ferris, Corax, Icarian and even Curze stared at Inko for a while before they turned their attention towards Angron who blushed while saying, "I… couldn't bring myself to refuse."
"And I still think that you look adorable in that dress," said the owner of the shop. She then noticed the other girls and said, "I assume that they're here to buy clothes as well?"
Inko nodded and asked, "Will that be a problem?"
The owner waved her hand and said, "As a lady born in a body of a man, never mind some of the people whom I consider as my closest friends, I'm not one to judge." She then wore a sad smile and said, "Besides, the level of raw emotion when that girl with the metal arms broke down is not something anyone can easily fake."
Recognising the signs of someone who had been persecuted before, Izuku asked, "Do you… need any help, Muratome-san?"
The owner, whose (author-brewed) name was Muratome Rondo, smiled at Izuku and said, "I appreciate your concern, but I can take care of myself." She then grinned and added, "Besides, ever since you and those cute girls came to my shop to buy clothes, my business has been doing quite well especially among girls who need larger clothes than average." One memorable customer was a young lady who was even taller than the former primarchs with a fox-like face, an attractive womanly figure, blond hair, large blue eyes with bushy eyelashes, pointed ears and green fur with a white furry underbelly.
"That's good to know. It would be a shame if your shop is closed down," said Sanguinius.
"Aw, you're making me blush!" said Rondo.
"Clothes. For. Her?" asked Curze while lifting Eri up with her hands under her armpits.
Rondo noticed Eri, who was blushing shyly, and smiled as she answered, "Why, of course I have clothes her size. It would be a shame to not have something cute for such a lovely young lady like her!"
"Then let us go in and get our clothes," said Lion who wanted the shopping trip to be over quickly so that she could focus on more important matters such as challenging the pro-heroes who had defeated her to a proper duel.
Rondo raised en eyebrow as she looked at Lion before she asked the others, "She's not the friendly sort, is she?"
"Nope," replied basically everyone including Curze and Eri.
-A short while later…-
Lion was massaging her forehead with one hand as she grumbled to herself, "Why… are we wasting to much time here making pointless purchases?"
"You two look really cute in those maid dresses!" said Inko who was delighted by the sight of Corax and Curze wearing their black and white maid outfits.
Corax sighed and thought, "If Nasturi ever saw me wearing this, she would never let me live it down."
Sensing Corax's emotions, Angron, who once had a ridiculous nightmare of appearing before the loyalists of the World Eaters while wearing the dreaded frilly pink dress, said, "Just be glad Inko didn't make you wear the frilly pink one." Corax shuddered as she was sure that the pink dress would make her look downright ridiculous. At least the black and white maid outfit had a more reasonable aesthetic with colours that reminded Corax of the Raven Guard space marines.
Curze frowned as she tried to move around in the outfit and said, "Dress. Hard. Move."
Keigo, who was standing by the entrance with Izuku and Ken, whispered to them, "Curze would have considered buying that maid outfit if she could wear it for combat, wouldn't she?"
"From the looks of it, yes," said Ken.
"Pro-heroes in maid-themed or maid-inspired outfits are not unheard of," said Izuku as he recalled the cutesy dresses worn by a certain group of pro-heroes known as the Wild Wild Pussycats.
"What do you think Eri-chan? Don't they look pretty in them?" asked Inko.
Eri nodded and said, "They look really pretty."
"Then it's decided," said Inko who then turned her attention to Rondo and said, "We will buy these two dresses as well."
Rondo gave Inko a thumb's up and said with a happy grin, "Excellent choice, Midoriya-san!"
A short while later, Inko decided to buy a pretty white dress for Eri and have the little girl wear it while being hugged by Curze who was still wearing her maid dress. The resulting picture gave the impression of an innocent little princess being protected by a hauntingly frightening yet beautiful maid. Needless to say, Inko planned to save the picture and add it to the family album.
-Some time later…-
After visiting a few shops, including the same shop where six of the former primarchs had bought their swimwear, the group decided to visit a book shop as Guilliman wanted to buy some books for reading. At the mention of books and reading, Izuku realised that he had not been attending his junior high school for over a week. As such, he had to ask Ken, "Will I have to shift schools just like how my mum and I had to shift homes?"
Not surprised by Izuku's question, as it was something that needed to be brought up at some point in spite of the admittedly unusual situation, Ken replied, "Yes, if only because Nedzu wants you to study together with the girls and help them in anything school-related that they may not understand. He also plans to have your mother work at U.A. High school as the 'dorm mother' of the Imperial Dorm."
Angron, who was standing behind Izuku, raised an eyebrow and asked, "Isn't she already one?"
"Nedzu feels that making it official and giving her a steady salary is well-deserved given how close she has become with you and the other five who have been staying at U.A. High School for some time already," replied Ken who then added, "Besides, someone will have to help Curze take care of Eri and Midoriya-san will quite certainly be of help."
Having no reason to disagree, Angron simply shrugged while Izuku asked, "But who will be teaching us?"
"Well, before this whole situation with the girls started, Nedzu informed me and the other teachers that we would be having another teacher working at the school on the following year," said Ken.
"Is he going to ask the new teacher to start working earlier than originally planned?" asked Izuku.
"Probably," answered Ken who then added, "Between the new teacher and Hawks, we should be able to make it work somehow. Besides, other than Eri who's obviously too young for junior high school education, you and the rest of the girls seem pretty bright so teaching you all shouldn't be too much of a problem."
Still not used to being praised, by a pro-hero no less, Izuku blushed and said, "I-I'm not as smart as the girls. They basically learnt how to speak a whole language in just a few days."
"And your ability to analyse quirks, including ours, is something that even the likes of the Mechanicus and the Inquisition would be impressed by," said Sanguinius.
Izuku's bashful, blush deepened while Vulkan nodded with a smile and said, "It is true that you're not without weaknesses, but you're also not without strengths. Never forget that, Izuku."
Izuku nodded shyly while Ken thought, "Given Midoriya-kun's quirkless status and his general demeanour thus far, it might be a good idea to have someone investigate his junior high school." He frowned as he thought about his younger days and mentally added, "As both a pro-hero and a former victim of quirk-related discrimination, I refuse to let any school that promotes quirk-based persecution stand."
Ken would later learn that Nedzu had the same idea.
-Meanwhile, at the Bakugou household…-
Mistuki and Masaru sat on a sofa with exhausted expressions on their faces. Earlier that day, they decided to visit Aldera Junior High to talk to the principal of the school about Katsuki and his worsening mental state. Katsuki was with them at the time as they knew that the principal and the teachers were unlikely to speak the full truth about the situation. Besides, they wanted Katsuki to explain himself.
When Katsuki was pressed to explain himself, he suddenly exploded, both metaphorically and literally, and started to rant about how Izuku, who was supposed to be a worthless pebble on Katsuki's path to becoming the next No.1 Pro-Hero, somehow got ahead of him due to "ridiculous fucking luck". He then said that Izuku did not deserve to even set foot on U.A. High School let alone be given a chance to be a pro-hero as he was not only quirkless but dared to see himself as Katsuki's equal or better.
Not surprisingly, any attempt by the headmaster to somehow salvage the situation failed miserably before he could even utter a word after Katsuki's outburst.
What followed next was nothing short of a whirlwind of drama, yells and screams as Mistuki and Masaru finally learnt the truth of Katsuki bullying Izuku for years and how the school not only kept the bullying a secret from them and Inko but also made sure that Katsuki's school record was spotless. Unlike Katsuki, both Mitsuki and Masaru cared for Izuku regardless of his quirkless status as he was the son of their friend, Inko. Therefore, they were both appalled and ashamed by the fact that Katsuki was Izuku's primary abuser for years. Although neither parent could remember everything, mostly due to their minds being clouded by anger and shame over their son's actions, they distinctively remembered claiming that Katsuki's actions were not better than that of a "fucking shitty villain" and how he had already failed to be a hero let alone one even greater than All Might. They also remembered Katsuki's hateful response which was a "suggestion" to disown him so that they could take in Izuku as their own child. By the time the two parents could even begin to calm down, they were already back at home without their son.
Mitsuki, whose beautiful face was stained with tears, could still feel the stinging sensation on her right palm which reminded her that she had slapped Katsuki in the face. Although she had smacked the boy on the back of his head many times, she had never slapped him on the face before. She looked at her right palm before she turned her attention towards Masaru and asked, "Honey, what should we do?"
Masaru, who had a grim look on his face, said, "We need to be honest with Inko and tell her about this."
"Even if it means going to U.A. High School to tell her about it?" asked Mitsuki. Although she loved Inko as a friend and saw Izuku as a lovable godson, she could not ignore the fact that doing so would likely ruin her own son's future.
"He forfeited his right to demand for a place at that school from the moment he decided to be Izuku's personal villain," said Masaru. Normally, Masaru was a mild-mannered man who was easily unsettled by Mistuki and Katsuki's more aggressive tendencies. However, during the few times when Masaru became truly angry, not even Katsuki dared to provoke him.
Realising that Masaru was adamant and had a point, Mistuki nodded and said, "Let me call Inko-chan. Hopefully, she will be in a good mood when we see her tomorrow."
After contacting Inko and informing her that she and her husband needed to talk to her about something terrible, Mitsuki tried to call Katsuki so that he would be home by dinner time. Even though she was upset with him and had always butted heads with him, she still saw him as her own son and did not want him to be out in the streets at night even though Curze had already been apprehended by pro-heroes.
-Somewhere along a dark alley in Musutafu…-
"Fuck. Fuck! FUCK!" yelled Katsuki as he destroyed some garbage bags with his explosions. He did not care that he was scattering rotting half-burnt thrash everywhere as he simply, if not desperately, needed to destroy something to somehow calm his emotions which could be compared to a raging maelstrom.
When Katsuki's parents pressed him for answers about his increasingly stressed mental and emotional state lately, he could not contain himself any longer and ended up exposing everything that he had done to Izuku to them. He knew that his parents did not approve of him picking on Izuku but he had never expected them to be so appalled by what he had done to ensure that Izuku knew his place in the pecking order. Although he could not remember everything that he and his parents had said to one another, he recalled them saying that he was no better than a villain and was unworthy of ever becoming a hero. He also recalled them saying that Izuku, while quirkless, was at least someone who understood what being a hero truly meant.
After reducing the garbage bags to scattered half-burnt pieces that reeked of decay, Katsuki yelled heavenward, "Fuck you Deku! I fucking HATE YOU!"
In Katsuki's "perfect origin" as a pro-hero, he would be the only one from Aldera Junior High to attend the hero course of U.A. High School. However, not only had Izuku started staying at U.A. High School in spite of being a junior high student but it was also likely that Katsuki would be barred from entering the said school now that his parents knew the truth of Izuku being "put in his place". Even if Katsuki somehow managed to attend U.A. High School, there was a high chance that Izuku, would be there as a student as well. As someone who had had to deal with the "annoyingly persistent fucker" for so long, Katsuki would rather attend a different school than be stuck with Izuku again. However, in Katsuki's mind, doing so would mean not only attending a second-rate hero school, at best, but also essentially admitting defeat to Izuku of all people.
How could Katsuki ever consider himself as someone who would one day be even greater than All Might if he was essentially defeated by the "quirkless waste of air" like Deku?
As Katsuki continued yelling to the heavens in rage of a ruined "perfect origin" and glorious future, a certain tall white-haired girl with yellow eyes named Lorgar smiled as she thought, "Now… here's a worthy Khornate aspirant if I have ever met one on this backwater version of Terra. Why, he might even have the potential to receive the blessings of all four gods."
Since Izuku was obviously associated with the former loyalist primarchs, as well as two former traitor primarchs and even one former lost primarch currently, it only made sense for Lorgar to want some information about him. Even Tomura was interested if only because he wanted to know if Izuku could be exploited as a possible weak-point. It did not take long for Lorgar to learn that Izuku was not only Katsuki's classmate and former childhood friend but was also someone who was apparently discriminated against by his classmates if not most of the students and teachers in his school.
Lorgar's smile widened as she observed Katsuki taking out his ringing mobile phone and, after a moment of looking at it, destroyed it by throwing it onto the ground as hard as he could with an explosive throw. Although she was tempted to step forward and offer Katsuki a place as an aspirant of the Dark Gods, she knew better than to be hasty. After all, the boy originally wanted to be a pro-hero and was therefore unlikely to consider joining a villainous organisation. However, if his future of becoming a pro-hero was rendered completely impossible…
Lorgar chuckled softly as she stepped back into the shadows with the intention of persuading a certain villainous mastermind to "assist" the police force and pro-heroes in stopping some "unworthy candidates" from ever becoming pro-heroes. If the whole school ended up shut down with the majority of students and teachers having their lives ruined as a consequence of putting a certain Midoriya Izuku "in his place", Lorgar would be able to quickly gather a "flock" to shepherd towards the glory of the 'Primordial Truth'.
-In the primarchs' original universe…-
Visions of the alternate version of Holy Terra, where the reincarnated souls of the primarchs currently resided on as abhuman girls, had been becoming more frequent lately. One of the more recent visions was a vision of Ferrus suffering an emotional breakdown. Had the vision happened before the events of the Gaudinian Heresy and the dawn of Era Indomitus, the space marines of the Iron Hands would have seen her breakdown as a sign of emotional weakness. However, as Kardan Stronos himself had once said after the conclusion of then Gaudinian Heresy, "With steel we are stronger, but without a soul we are nothing."
As such, the Iron Hands still saw Ferrus as their beloved primarch and longed for the day when she would somehow return to lead them once again.
On a side note, there was a notable loss of morale among the traitor marines of the Emperor's Children. Although it was impossible for detailed information to be acquired even by the Inquisition, what little information that could be acquired indicated that their loss of morale was somehow related to the vision of Ferrus' emotional breakdown. Given the close bond that Ferrus and Fulgrim once had before the Horus Heresy, there was little reason to doubt the possibility that at least some part of Fulgrim felt guilt over the betrayal which in turn affected even the most corrupted of his space marines.
Another notable vision was a vision of Curze smiling softly while holding a young horned girl in her arms. It was a vision that made many, both the loyalists and the Night Lords who refused to accept the "gifts" of the Chaos Gods, including a certain Prophet of the Eighth Legion named Decimus, wonder what kind of person Curze could have become if she had somehow been given a chance to form a close emotional bond with even one person on Nostramo.
While the 42nd Millennium was a time of war, it was also becoming a time of self-reflection among a growing number of people in the Imperium of Man.
-End Chapter-
Author's Notes:
When I first wrote the story, I thought that the events of the Indomitus Crusade happened in the 41st Millenium. As it turned out, it actually happened in the 42nd Millenium. I have already corrected the mistake on the AO3 website but not for the Fanfiction Dot Net website due to website connection and page-editing issues. While I have already stated that I am a casual fan of Warhammer 40k, I would still like to apologise for making this mistake.
As for the shop owner who is Hiikishi Kenji's (a.k.a. Magne) friend, I have decided to name her Muratome Rondo based on the words 'Mura Otome' and 'Burondo' which mean 'village maiden' and 'blond' respectively. While she is present in the canon 'Boku no Hero Academia' story, her name was never given. She is also described as gentle-natured.
Until next time, go beyond, plus ultra!
