Daniel Fenton went through a lot during his high school time, and of course it had it's few gems. The friends he made along the way, the powers he gained. They were something he viewed as a curse for so long after his only friends left town, but through the guidance of his few friends from the other side, he's learned to accept and love himself for them.

It was hard for Danny to readjust to life after the Winchesters, but he managed to do it. It was rough, his parents were getting worse as the days went by and just his luck he found new problems every day. He knew almost everything there was to know about ghosts when it came to it, it was hard not to with all his parents notes and being what it was he was trying to stop.

He figured when the ghosts stopped showing up so much, and with graduation just around the corner, he thought maybe he caught a break. Sure his parents were a constant thorn in his side, but one problem out of the many he used to have. Finishing school seemed a lot more likely than it had a few weeks ago. So when he was on a walk late at night and was attacked by a creature with blue markings, blue eyes, and more strength than anything he expected he wasn't sure what to do.

He barely got away, but he did. The problem was trying to figure out what new thing was inhabiting his home, and how to get rid of it. It was a danger, something he couldn't just ignore. Problem was the internet was filled with so much information, a lot of it being just folklore, he wasn't sure where to start. That when he remembered the card, tucked safely in his wallet. Taking a breath, Danny glanced over the numbers.

It only took a second to type the number in, only a few rings before it got answered. "Hello?" Danny asked, breath a little shaky. He really hoped this was related, and he wasn't just screwing up and someone was going to call him crazy.

"How'd you get this number?" A gruff voice spoke back, Danny blinked. He didn't know what he was expecting but that wasn't it. It took a second for the teen to gather his words, but the man didn't seem to have much patience. "Speak up or I'm hanging up."

"Uh, sorry... Uh, John-John Winchester, He gave me this card." Danny turned his attention to the name written on the blank space. "Is... Is this Bobby?" There was silence before a silent curse rumbled through and a little shuffling.

"Yea, that's me." Bobby answered, the sound of a chair scraping filled Danny's senses. Sometimes having heightened senses wasn't that fun. "What'd ya need?"

"Uh, I don't know if this is the right number honestly, I just wasn't sure who to call, and this just seemed like my only options and-"

"Come on Kid, Spit it out." Bobby cut him off, Danny made a note to introduce himself before this call ended.

"Are a, uh, hunter?" Danny asked.

"John didn't tell you?" Bobby responded, annoyance clear in his tone. "Yea boy, I am. What's the problem?"

"I'm not sure, it's some man, he has this markings, almost like tattoos. They come out with a glow of blue and he has glowing blue eyes." Danny informed, fidgeting with a pen. "I only know about some creatures, this ones new."

"Sounds like a Djinn, to kill it you use a knife dipped in lambs blood." Bobby filled in. Danny scribbled the name and weapon down, he'd have to remember this.

"Uh, okay, thanks Bobby." Danny hesitated before adding. "I'm Danny by the way, I might call a few more times?" It sound more like a question than a statement. A huffed laughed cause Danny to relax a bit.

"Kid, most Hunters call me, I'm use to it." The older man paused for a second. "Danny, be careful. Hunters life isn't easy." Danny's hand instinctively landed on his most recent wound created by something supernatural.

"Boy do I know it."

The knife wasn't hard to gather, especially when he could find a farm not to far from his town. Taking out the Djinn wasn't that hard either, it was stationed in one of the abandoned homes that hadn't found a new family to inhabit it. The 'hunt' went much easier than he expected honestly, but it stuck with him.

Danny's fought ghosts, he'd stabbed, and beaten, and hurt them in so many ways. But this... this was different. It felt heavy. He knew the creature wasn't human, he knew it was going to keep trying to hurt people. It wasn't just a creature, it was a monster. No matter how much the word caused an unsettling feeling to curl around Danny's heart.

That night, while lying in bed, Danny's mind kept replaying the scene. The feeling at the blade piercing living skin, watching the light go out in those eyes. Danny killed something, something he hasn't had to do before. There's something about it, like he broke an unspoken rule in his life. He took the life from something, human or not. But that man...

He was human enough, it felt like he murdered a human. He did the right thing, he knows he did. He had to, if he didn't more lives would have been lost. The Djinn wasn't going to suddenly stop feeding on people. It didn't stop the uncomfortable weight, and the harsh guilt that curling around in his insides. He took a life, he's barely even an adult, and he already took a life.

Danny shook his head, he felt like he should be crying. He even felt the tears prickle at the back of his eyes, but they wouldn't fall. Is this how it's going to feel? If he ever had to do this again, was it always going to like this? Was he going to have a moment feeling like he did something he should never have, that he had no right to, or was it going to get easier?

Was he going to be numbed from the experience and pain of it all? Was it just going to become a job, something he had to do and block out the emotions and then move on to the next hunt?

Danny knew one thing, he didn't want to be a hunter. If it was going to be like this, feel like this. He was ending the lives of things just like him, things that were just trying to survive and live. Things that were monsters... Just like he's been called so many times. Every creature should have a chance to survive, everything had the instinct, so why, why did some of them have to die because of it.

Because some of them take lives to live.

The small voice in the back of his mind supplied, and it wasn't wrong. There had to have been some way for the Djinn to live a life free of murder, or pain, against another being. Then again Danny didn't know enough about the creature to know for sure. All he knows is that poor kid that was strapped up to bags taking it's blood was now safe in the hospital.

Yet that safe life, didn't make taking one feel any better. The teen's eyes landed on the business card sitting innocently on his nightstand table. That was it. He was going to learn everything he could about as many as he can. He wasn't going to feel so stupid when it comes to the untapped areas of the supernatural. Sure he knew ghosts inside and out, but there was so much more out there.

Hunter, or not, Danny was going to learn everything.
