Sam took a deep breath, trying to easy his thumping heart rate as he opened to door to his home. The first smell that hit him was eggs, a smile settled on his face. Danny was awake, which wasn't a common occurrence. Since moving in together, their differences in schedule became so much more apparent. Sam would always be awake first, going of on his morning run while Danny was still in bed. Most times by the time Sam got home, Danny is either just getting up or still in bed.

"Good morning." Sam greeted, kissing Danny lightly on the cheek.

"Morning, made French toast." Danny smiled, turning towards the taller man. Motioning towards the kitchen table, a nice plate of French toast, eggs, and bacon settled on a plate. Sam smiled, the kitchen was filled with the pleasant scent of cinnamon and fresh brewed coffee. "I was a little worried it would get cold before you got back."

"Looks like I got back just on time." Sam accepted a warm mug before moving towards the table, following Danny's movements was the man stirred his own coffee before moving towards the table.

"How was your run?"

"Good, ran into a nice couple with a golden lab."

"Aww, that's adorable." Danny chuckled, digging into his food once Sam did his own. Conversations lately had taken to mediocre topics, day to day talk, almost small talk but not nearly as uncomfortable as it is with strangers. Sam had gotten worried at first that the shift meant one of them was going to get bored, that this was their transition from the honeymoon phase, and the relationship was going to sizzle away. Luckily that wasn't the case, this sort of normalcy seemed like something both of them needed. Considering everything they each went through, all the drama that used to be there lives, it was nice for a change of pace.

Sam was glad this change happened with Danny.

"My early lecture professor sent an email out while I was on my run, the class got canceled so we can go to class together." Sam tossed out there, usually Sam heads out first and Danny goes with Riley to his first class most days. The way Danny paused, a smile slipping on his face as he looked up.

"That would be awesome, maybe we could stop by the coffee bean before class. They have a new fruit explosion muffin I've been wanting to try, but I'm always running to late." Sam chuckled, Danny had an appetite the even rivaled Dean's. The man always seemed ready for another snack or meal, not the Sam minded. He actually enjoyed cooking, and it was nice to cook for someone else for a change.

"Sounds like a plan, never could go wrong with another cup." Sam motioned to his mug. He's noticed they both like their coffee pretty similar to the other. Danny liked his with just a little more color than Sam, the difference wasn't that noticeable if you didn't try looking for it, but it was enough for Sam to note to always add an extra bit of cream to Danny's cup.

"Hey, remember Cujo?" Danny asked, breaking the comfortable silence. He only continued when Sam nodded in conformation. "Charles is going to be in town, something to do with his watches, and he's bring Cujo along. He asked me if I could watch him for a few hours, I said yes, but if you're not okay with it I can-"

"Of course I'm okay with it, I can't wait to meet him." Sam watched the tense slip from Danny's shoulders. The anxiety Danny carries was still there, Sam expected it to always linger, but lately Danny's been feeling more comfortable asking for things.

"Awesome! Stopwatch said he was going to drop him off around three. I know I'll be home before you, but once he get home he should be here."

Sam loved this, more than he had expected to. With a life revolving around hunting and a constant change of pace, the idea of normalcy could spook a hunter more than any monster could. But Sam adored it, loved that he could settle in comfortable silence with Danny in their shared home. Talking about things like they were normal people in a normal life.

Even the conversations about Danny's hunts was seeming just as mundane at the rest. It was something he could get used to.

Sam wasn't expecting this, yes Danny did tell him Cujo wasn't your averaging looking dog, but this seemed like an understatement. The dog was medium sized, wasn't much of a shock, but it was his color. A bright green fur with vibrant red eyes. Danny had to take a moment to explained to him what the situation was.

Apparently Cujo was born with albinism, explaining the red eyes. Pandora likes to dye Cujo's hair bright green after the first day they had him. The story goes that he got his paws on a tub of green paint and managed to cover a whole room and himself in it before someone found him. Bright green seemed to be the dogs favorite color, which Sam thought was adorable.

"I'm glad he likes you." Danny smiled over the rim of his mug. He was tucked away in a corner of the couch while Sam was settled on the floor, hands idling playing with a happy Cujo. Sam grinned up at his boyfriend, letting Cujo nibble on his hand for a few moments before moving it away.

"I've always loved dogs, always wanted one." Sam mused, turning fond eyes on Cujo. The dog was resting on his back, large tongue flopped out on side and tail wagging full speed at the belly rubs.

"I never really thought about pets, that was until he ran into me." Danny laughed when Cujo gave a small yelp from the floor. "Now I can't imagine not having the furball in my life."

"I'm okay dog sitting for Charles whenever he needs it." Sam offered, standing to settle next to Danny. The smaller man nestled into his side, just before Cujo jumped up to curl up against his other side. It was a nice feeling, the comfortable of both of them.

"I'm sure he'd take us up on that if I bring it up." Danny replied. Sam nodded, turning his focus on the T.V. screen playing in the background.

Cujo was a sweet boy, listened to commands really well even though Danny mentioned never really training him. The few times Sam said something he didn't seem to understand, he did the cutest little head tilt, eyebrows furrowed down like he was trying to decipher an unknown message. He had a lot more understanding and personality than Sam expected, but he was oddly calm for such an affectionate pup.

That was until a show about wildlife came on screen and it focused in on some birds. Cujo went wild, barking a storm and running back and forth. It took a lot of treats and changing the channel to stop him from ramming head first into the T.V.
