The Owl House Season 2 Episode 7 – The Legendary Dark Knight Sparda Part 1
Hey guys! I've been waiting to show this episode for a long time! Due to there being so much words this episode has been split into 2 parts.
Part 2 will be coming Sunday.
Luke and the gang are about to discover the truth of the Legendary Dark Knight Sparda, his legacy and his death… and most importantly, Luke's connection to him.
Check out deviantart for new artwork.
It's morning time now, and at the Owl House, King is sitting down at the table looking through a couple of books about demons until Eda pops next to him.
Eda: What'cha reading?
King: Weh! He calms down when he sees its Eda. I've been looking through a bunch of books, trying to figure out what kind of demon I am. I figure there must be something in history about a demon that looks like me or those old wall paintings we saw at my tower.
Eda: You find anything?
King: King sighs in disappointment. No. Nothing. I can't seem to find one demon that looks even remotely like me. And there's nothing in the history books, either. Maybe whatever demon I am is so old, no living person ever got to see it to record it in history.
Eda: Eda smiles, rubbing his head. Keep looking. The answers are bound to be found sooner or later. By the way, have you seen Luke anywhere?
King: He's in his room trying to get information out of the Echo Mouse. Though, I can't tell if it's because he needs information to get to the Human Realm or impress Amity to take his crush on her to the next level.
Eda: Eda becomes intrigued. Ooh! Now this I gotta see.
Eda takes a peek into Luke's room to see he's speaking with the Echo Mouse.
Luke: Come on, little guy. You have information in there, and the only way to get it out is to make you like me. And if you don't like me, then I'll never be able to win over Amity! He blushes, realizing what he just said. I mean, get home to my mom! He presses his face against the glass. Tell me your secrets. You're my only hope of either getting back home or getting a girlfriend.
Eda: I can tell you how to get a girlfriend.
Luke yelps and falls on his back, looking up to see Eda standing above him.
Luke: Oh. Hey, Eda.
Eda: I see your priorities are a little split, aren't they, kid?
Luke: Luke gets a little nervous. W-what are you talking about? I'm just trying to get information out of the Echo Mouse so I can make a portal back home. That's my main priority.
Eda: Tied with impressing your crush by being as nice as possible to the little mouse, am I right?
Luke turns red in embarrassment.
Luke: What!? Nooooooo!
Eda says nothing. Seeing he's been caught, he lifts himself up and sighs.
Luke: Fine, I do want to get home. But at the same time, I'm trying to get the Echo Mouse to like me so that Amity will like me, too, because of how gentle I am with it. But nothing works. The little guy just acts like I don't exist.
Eda: Eda sits next to Luke, holding his back. Ahh, chin up, kid. These things take time. And if it helps you feel better, I think you impressed Amity a LONG time ago. She's had a crush on you since day 1.
Luke: You really think so?
Eda: Absolutely. You just need to bring up the confidence to talk about how you feel.
Luke: But I'm not sure if I'm ready for that. My head has been real messed up since my palisman flop the other day. My priorities are so messed up right now: winning Amity's heart, figuring out how to make a portal back home, and Belos' plans. I've even read books about Sparda's adventures to find clues for that last part.
The topic of Sparda causes Eda to change her demeanour
Eda: Have you… learned anything new? Anything at all?
Luke: No, nothing. Every book I've looked at just tells me what I already know about Sparda. There's nothing about what Belos could be planning. There's so much I don't know! Luke lies on his back, groaning. I don't know how to get home, I don't know how to win Amity's heart, I don't know anything about Sparda, I don't know anything about Belos' plans, and I don't know what I want for my future. Man, I'm hopeless…
Eda looks at her apprentice in sympathy before giving a kind smile.
Eda: I think I know something that might cheer you up.
Luke opens his eyes, a little intrigued.
Scenes shift to the living room where he's sat with King, waiting for Eda. She comes in holding something with a towel wrapped around it.
Eda: Look what I've got.
Luke gasps when towel is removed to reveal his palisman which has been carved into the shape of a wolf. Luke runs up.
Luke: My palisman!
Eda: Eda hands it over. The coat's finally dry and your palisman's ready.
King: Remind me again why you've chosen to carve your palisman in the shape of a wolf.
Luke: Dogs are pretty much my favourite animal. Believe it or not, this one time, I went on vacation with my parents, and I actually befriended a wolf. And… before I came here, I was a lone wolf who had to fend for himself against the world. When I met you guys, I found my pack. Eda smiles at that. Plus, wolves and I have something in common. We both prefer to follow the wind to wherever we wanna go. He looks at his palisman with a smile. So, this is my palisman. And when it comes to life, I'll get my witch's staff.
Eda: That's right, kid.
Luke: So, how does bringing my palisman to life work exactly? Do I have to sing it some kind of song? Do some ancient ritual or…?
Eda: Eda chuckles a little. It doesn't exactly work like that, Luke. Remember what the Bat Queen said. Palismen respond to emotions. When you feel like you know what to do for your future, I'm sure it'll move.
Luke: Respond to my emotions…
Eda: Eda lifts Luke's chin a little. Chin up, kid. Like I said, these things take time. Your palisman will be moving before you know it. Trust me.
Luke: Luke smiles gratefully. Thanks, teach.
Suddenly, Hooty bursts in between Luke and Eda much to their surprise.
Hooty: Oh, Luke! Your girlfriend is here!
Luke: Girlfriend? He's snagged by the hood. Hey! Hooty!
Hooty drags Luke out his room and drops him in the living room right on Amity, who grunts as she fell on her back. Luke and Amity's eyes meet.
Luke & Amity: Amity/Luke!
King watches from the couch as Luke and Amity scramble to their feet and get some distance between them, blushing wildly.
Luke: Sorry about that!
Amity: I-it's okay! It's okay…
Luke: Um… so, how's your day been?
Amity: It's been… fine.
Luke notices Amity is wearing a new necklace consisting of a purple pendant decorated with a gold crescent moon.
Luke: Uh… nice necklace.
Amity: Oh! You like it? Amity clutches her necklace, a little redder. It belonged to my grandmother. I figured I could wear it now that I'm no longer wearing my mom's pendant.
Luke: It looks good on you.
Amity: Um… thank you, Luke.
The two don't say anything. Eda peeks from the doorway to see Luke and Amity walk around each other, trying to avoid making eye contact. After a few moments, they both turn and speak at the same time.
Luke & Amity: Amity/Luke, I-!
They stop, realizing they just spoke at the same time. The pair chuckle nervously.
Amity: You go first.
Luke: Luke walks up to her. Amity, there's something I've been wanting to talk to you about.
King sees Eda by the doorway, and they grin as Luke and Amity speak.
Amity: Really? There's something I wanted to talk to you about, too.
Luke: Oh, well… why don't you go first?
Amity: Oh, no, no! You go first.
Eda silently urges Luke to make a move.
Luke: Uh… no! You go first!
Eda facepalms and King groans as Luke and Amity chuckle. Both walk up to the hopeless duo.
Amity: No! Really, you-!
Eda places a hand on both their shoulders, surprising them.
Eda: Here's an idea. Why don't you take this little love conversation outside where you won't make things as awkward? You can make it a date.
King: Yeah, you're driving us both crazy.
Luke & Amity: Luke and Amity go red. A date!?
Amity: No, no! You've got it all wrong! It's nothing like-!
Next thing Luke and Amity know, they're stood outside the Owl House.
Eda: Have fun sorting out your feelings during your date! BYE-EEEEE!
Eda slams the door shut, leaving Luke and Amity to exchange blushing looks until the latter notices what her crush is holding in his hands.
Amity: Luke, is that a palisman!?
Luke: Huh? Oh, you mean this. Yeah. Eda found some Palistrom Wood and helped me carve it the other day.
Amity: Amity smiles. Luke, that's wonderful! You've carved your very own palisman! She saddens a little. Willow and Gus told me what happened at school yesterday with the Bat Queen and all those other palisman. Luke frowns a little. Do you…maybe want to talk about it?
Luke: Yeah. I think I'd like that.
Luke and Amity walk off together, Eda and King watching through window. The two exchange winks, hoping this all goes well.
King: Ooh! While they're out why don't we spy on the Emperor's Coven for some gossip with that Scrying Potion Lilith left us?
Eda: King, you read my mind.
Owl House Season 2A Intro
The eye of the old portal door opens, engulfed in flames.
Luke drops down with Rebellion and a Glyph Gun, giving his gun a spin and swung his sword as it opens, releasing electricity while he grins.
Eda slides in from her right, spinning her Owl Staff and swinging to release energy. King pops up from her.
Willow emerges and lifts her arms as her eyes glow, summoning huge vines behind.
Gus comes in with a book, summoning two illusions of himself striking poses besides him.
Amity twirls in from her right and with a grin her hands glow with purple energy, summoning Abomination goo.
Lilith slides in from the left, spinning her Raven Staff and swinging to release energy like Eda did. Hooty pops out from her clock backpack.
Hunter (now maskless) flash steps from the left with his Artificial staff which glows with energy. It disappears for him to draw and swing Yamato, striking a pose and releasing a blade of energy.
A Boiling Isle mural appears, three windows flipping to briefly reveal Qrow, Darius and Eberwolf. The windows flip to reveal Qrow in his Devil Form, Darius in his Abomination form and Eberwolf in his Beast form.
Belos appears striking a powerful pose, his castle behind him as lightning strikes
Luke rode on Eda's staff like a surfboard, zooming past Bonesborough, flying past Tinella Nosa, sharing a high-five with Gus, Willow being beside him with a plant releasing vines and evading guards that chase him down. Eda and King join in on the fun and they have blast taking to the skies…until they hang on for dear life as a massive monstrous worm-like monster, mouth wide open, lunges at them as they scream in horror.
Then the scene changes back to the Owl House, where it's night-time, and stars twinkle in the sky as the trio are on the roof and looking up into the sky, Eda holding her staff beside her, Luke holding Rebellion downward and King riding his shoulder. Luke opens a hand, sending a ball of light floating into the sky where it bursts to release a blinding flash.
The title card appears:
Owl House: Son of Sparda
Luke and Amity are in town. The latter sitting down on a bench with her palisman; Ghost sitting on her lap. She strokes her cat and looks up when Luke approaches her, holding two cotton candies in his hands as he holds his palisman under his armpit.
Luke: Found some cotton candy.
Amity takes some, and the pair sit down together, taking a bite out of her cotton candy.
Luke: So, Willow and Gus told you about my palismen flop the other day, huh?
Amity: Yeah. They did. I'm sorry, Luke, I know you were really excited about getting a staff like everyone else.
Luke: It's cool…at least I have some hope here, thanks to Eda. He frowns at the palismen in his arm. But he won't move. I don't know how to bring him to life.
Amity: Amity smiles kindly, placing a hand on his. You've just finished carving him. Give it time, I'm sure he'll move soon. Remember what the Bat Queen said, Palismen connect with us by expressing our deepest wish.
Luke: But that's the thing. I don't know what it is I wish to do with my magic. All I know is that I want to be the ultimate witch-warrior. But what does that even mean, exactly?
Amity: I know what that's like.
Luke: Luke looks to Amity in surprise. You do?
Amity: I was in a pretty similar position after I first carved Ghost. She continues stroking Ghost which she enjoys. After I finished carving her, I kept trying to express what it is I wanted to be.
Luke: And what is it you wanted to be?
Amity: I'm not too sure myself. She scratches Ghost's head. I kept saying things like, "I want to be a great witch", or, I don't know, "I want to be an author like Mildred Featherwhyle." But she wouldn't move. It had been like that for three months.
Luke: How'd you finally connect with Ghost, then?
Amity: I guess… it's because of you that Ghost finally came to life.
Luke: Because of me?
Amity: Before I met you, Luke, I kept telling myself I wanted to be the head of the Emperor's Coven, but that was just something my mom was trying to force on me. Deep down, I was never too sure what or who I really wanted to be. But because of you… I finally realized that I'm not sure what it is I want to be when I grow up, but I want to choose the path myself. Ghost stands up, nuzzling Amity's cheeks. And when I admitted that to Ghost, that was enough. We've been bonded for life ever since. And it's all thanks to you, Luke.
Luke: Luke smiles a little, looking away. Well… I… I had a little help. It wasn't ALL thanks to me.
Amity: But still… if it weren't for you and your kindness, I probably would've still let my mom continue to walk all over me. Now look at me: Willow and I are friends again, my mom can't control me anymore, and for the first time, I truly feel happy. She clutches Luke's hand as she gives a sweet smile. I know you're having a hard time, Luke. You helped me figure out my future, so I'm going to help you figure out yours. I promise.
Luke: Luke returns Amity's smile. Amity… thanks.
It's at this moment the two of them realize they're holding hands, causing them to blush. But instead of separating out of embarrassment they stare into each other's eyes, seeing how close they are. Seeing a chance, the space between them gets smaller as they get closer to making lip contact and sharing their first kiss.
Suddenly a crow phone rings on Luke's head, causing him and Amity to scream in surprise. Ghost also screams, hiding behind Amity in surprise. Luke grabs the phone and picks up as he and Amity blushes.
Luke: Hello?
Eda: Hey kid, it's Eda. Sorry to cut in, hope I wasn't interrupting anything.
Luke: Uh…no, it's fine. Nothing got interrupted. He and Amity share a sheepish blush. Anyway, what's going on teach?
Eda: King and I have been doing some snooping in the emperor's castle with that Scrying Potion Lily left us and we heard something pretty interesting. It's connected to Sparda and the emperor's plan. It's a bit of a stretch but in might be worth looking into. I've invited Lilith over; her historical know-how might come in handy.
Luke: Luke stood up. Okay, I'm on my way back. Do you mind if I bring, Amity?
Eda: Sure. The more the merrier.
Luke hung up and Amity stood up with him, Ghost on her shoulder.
Amity: Was that Eda?
Luke: Yeah. She says she might have something on Belos. It might be worth looking into it. He smiles. You wanna come?
Amity: Amity and Ghost smile back. Sure. I'm always up for a good adventure.
Luke: A bit of a warning, Lilith's coming too.
Amity is surprised to hear that. She hasn't seen Lilith since the Petrification Ceremony.
Amity: Lilith?
Luke: Are you okay with that? I mean, I know things are a little weird between you since…you know…
Amity frowns a little, knowing Luke was right. She hasn't had a chance to talk to her former mentor about the Covention and the events from a few weeks ago. Now might be a good chance for them to make amends.
Amity: It's okay. I was…hoping to talk to Lilith sooner or later. There are…some things we need to discuss.
Luke: Well, if you're sure, let's head back to the Owl House, then.
Scenes shift to the Owl House living room, where the door opens to reveal Luke and Amity walking in.
Luke: We're back.
Gus & Willow: Hey Luke/Amity!
Luke and Amity are surprised to see Willow and Gus by the table with Eda and King as they walk over along with Clover and Emmeline playing with each other.
Luke: Willow, Gus! What are you guys doing here?
Gus: We just came here to see you.
Willow: And when Eda told us about a lead you guys were chasing on a mystery, we thought we'd help out.
Eda: And I was like, the more, the merrier.
Luke: Meh. Works for me. We could use the help. So, where's Lilith?
Eda: She's on her way.
Hooty: Hooty excitedly bursts in. I see Lulu! She's coming! She's coming!
Luke, Eda, King, Willow Gus and Amity run out to see Lilith flying down on her Raven Staff.
Lilith: I'm here! Lilith lands and dismounts off her staff, giving a wave. Hi everyone!
Lilith is shown to be wearing a pair of glasses and a brand-new outfit. She's now wearing a pale green shirt with poofy sleeves and a gold button on the chest, a brown vest, a maroon ankle-length skirt, purplish-grey leggings, and brown high-heeled boots.
Eda comes over with a smile and shares a hug with her sister.
Eda: Glad you could make it, sister.
Lilith: Glad I could be here, Edalyn. Sorry, I'm a little late. I had to pick up some essentials.
Eda: Meh. It's fine. We're not in any rush. How are things back home?
Lilith: It has been great spending time at home catching up with Mom and Dad. I've really missed connecting with them both. You know, you should pay a visit too sometime, Eda.
Eda: Eda saddens. I-I-I'm not sure if I'm ready for-
Hooty: LULU!
Hooty surprises Lilith by wrapping his entire body around her, causing her breathing difficulty.
Hooty: I'm so happy to see you! It feels like it's been forever since we last saw each other!
Lilith: Hootsifer. It's only been a week since I left. She smiles and strokes Hooty's head. But it's good to see you, too.
Hooty lets her down as Luke, Willow, and Gus walk up to Lilith, King on Luke's shoulder, and the other two with blank looks.
Luke: Hey, Lilith! Great to see you! I'm loving the new look!
Lilith: Why, thank you, Luke. And you know, it's because of you I've been able to really bond with our parents, especially my mother. I owe you big time, Luke.
Luke: What can I say? I was born to restore broken families.
King: Why are you wearing glasses? He gasps. Oh no! The curse has caused you to lose your eyesight.
Lilith: No, I just like wearing glasses. I used to wear them when I was a child, and I just felt a little nostalgic for this old look.
Lilith then looks to Willow and Gus, who are giving her nervous smiles.
Lilith: Oh, it's you two. I haven't seen you since our little encounter in the Emperor's Castle. You're Luke's friends, aren't you?
Willow: Uh… hello, Miss Lilith. Yes, we're Luke's friends. I'm Willow, and he's Gus.
Gus: It's a… little weird seeing you again like this. Though I'm not sure if it's because you're not head of the Emperor's Coven anymore or the fact that you tried to kill us once.
Lilith: Lilith saddens a little in guilt. Right. I think I owe the both of you an apology for that.
Willow: Willow dismisses with a wave. It's cool. Luke told us about what you did for everyone during the Petrification Ceremony.
Luke: There's someone else who'd like to see you, too.
Luke gestures over to Amity, who walks up to her with a nervous smile. Lilith is surprised to see her old protégé. Everyone takes a couple steps away from them.
Lilith: Amity!?
Amity: Um… hi, Miss Lilith. It's… been a while, hasn't it?
Lilith: Yes, it has. We… haven't seen each other since the Petrification Ceremony.
Amity and Lilith struggle to make eye contact. This is more awkward than they had hoped.
Lilith: You've… changed your hair colour, I see.
Amity: And you're a lot more smiley than I remember. So… how's life Post-Emperor's Coven?
Lilith: It's… manageable. How's everything for you with your family?
Amity: It's… also manageable.
Luke and the rest watch in concern for them. Clearly, Amity is a little nervous around Lilith because of the Covention event and the fact her former mentor was willing to hurt her, and Lilith is most likely feeling guilty over all that.
King: This is awkward.
Willow: Are they gonna be okay?
Eda walks up, surprising Amity and Lilith by wrapping her arms around them.
Eda: Okay, this is fun to watch, but right now, we've got business to get to. You can both deal with your emotional baggage later. Lily, you have something to show us, right?
Lilith: Y-yes, I do. Everyone, follow me.
Everyone is in the living room, where Lilith has a book on the table. Everyone is gathered around the table.
Lilith: I've been researching ways to find a cure to the curse, and in my spare time, I've also been hoping to figure out Belos' plans through one of the books about Sparda and his adventures. Edalyn was kind enough to provide me with some.
Luke: Who wrote these books anyway? I don't think I ever asked.
Lilith: Sparda himself, of course. He wanted to chronicle his adventures. I would think in the event of his death, he'd leave something behind for us. A warning about Belos' plans and what he learned about them.
Gus: And?
Lilith: I couldn't find anything on Belos, but I did find something particularly interesting.
Lilith flips through pages until she reaches the very end, which has a string. Lilith pulls it, and a compartment opens to reveal a map in the book, much to the gang's surprise.
Willow: Is that a map?
King: Eda, did you know about this?
Eda: No, I didn't! Sparda left me his books, but he never told me about this. I never even noticed that string at the end of the book.
Lilith picks up and lays out the map, showing the entire Boiling Isles with X's written in multiple areas. One in particular by the knee had arrows drawn around it, pointing right to it.
Lilith: This map has marked multiple hideouts Sparda had scattered around the Boiling Isles.
Gus: Why would a guy need that many hideouts?
Eda: Oh yeah. Sparda told me about these hideouts. He was viewed as a criminal for not falling in line with Belos' coven system, so he prepared these hideouts to stay one step ahead of him. It's a clever way to elude the Emperor's Coven. I should come up with other hideouts myself soon.
King: But why leave a map in a book he left for Eda?
Lilith: If Sparda had information on Belos, it stands to assume he'd secretly pass it down to someone he could trust with it. Edalyn was the most logical choice.
Eda: This was the last book Spard gave to me when I last saw him… alive.
Luke: But why give it to Eda and not Qrow, his brother?
Eda: Probably because Qrow may already know about Belos' true plans. That or he didn't want to endanger his brother.
Luke: Maybe these hideouts have some juicy info about Belos.
Amity: There might even be something in those hideouts that'll get you home.
Lilith: That's precisely what I was thinking. However, there's a problem with that. Almost all of Sparda's hideouts have been sealed off or blown up by the Emperor's Coven.
Willow: Why would the emperor do that?
Lilith: Sparda knew things about Belos that no one else does.
Eda: And Belos doesn't want to risk any of his plans getting out.
King points at the "X" on the knee.
King: Look at that "X" by the knee. That hideout has arrows pointing towards it!
Amity: Maybe Sparda wanted Eda to go to that specific hideout for some reason.
Eda: That makes sense.
Lilith: Fortunately, that hideout on the knee is the one hideout still intact.
Willow: Then that's where we need to go, right?
Lilith: That's only the good news.
Gus: What's the bad news?
Eda: The bad news is that the emperor has found out about this hideout and has sent orders to have it destroyed immediately. We saw scouts talking about it through the Scrying Potion. The fact Belos wants to destroy every one of Sparda's old hideouts must mean there was information in them that could jeopardize his plans.
Luke stands up, determined.
Luke: We've gotta get to that hideout first before those idiots blow it up.
King: King jumps on his shoulder. This is a chance to learn more about Sparda.
Luke: And maybe even find a clue to get me back home.
Eda: It might also shed some light on that Day of Unity Belos is planning for.
Amity stands up with a smile, followed by Willow and then Gus.
Amity: Well, you can count me in to help.
Willow: Me too.
Gus: Me three.
Luke: Thanks, you guys. We could really use it.
Lilith: Then it's settled.
Eda: We're off to the Knee! Let's get our snow gear, people!
Lilith: Lilith turns to Hooty. Hooty, we're going to need your help, too. Would you like to join in on another adventure?
Hooty: Hooty gasps in joy. Yes! Yes! Yes! I'll go get ready!
Luke: Uh-oh! Cover your eyes!
Knowing what Luke means, Lilith and King cover their eyes with him while the rest are just confused.
Eda: Why? What-?
Eda, Amity, Gus, and Willow gasp in shock when they hear a gut-wrenching and disgusting sound from the door. They recoil in horror and trauma when Hooty once again removes himself from the Owl House in some unholy way and attaches himself to a backpack.
Hooty: Porta-Hooty! Reporting for Hooty! Again!
Eda can only look in sheer disgust and horror; Willow and Gus hug each other in terror, while Amity is so disgusted that she is dry-heaving, struggling not to vomit. Luke, King, and Lilith remove their hands from their faces.
Luke: Yeah, it wasn't very pleasant for us either.
Gus: I regret everything!
Eda: If I had my powers, I'd cast an amnesia spell so we'd forget this.
Scenes shift to the knee where Luke and the rest of the gang have arrived.
Everyone is wearing their snow gear, and Luke wears his battle outfit and coat, complete with a scarf, a pair of black gloves, and his snow hat.
They're flying on their staffs, with Luke sitting behind Eda, and for some reason, Gus is sitting behind Lilith, Emmeline sitting on top of him. Willow is having a hard time balancing on her staff, wobbling a little, but she manages to fly.
Willow: Whoa… whoa!
Eda: You doing okay there, kid?
Willow: I'm good. I'm still trying to get used to flying on a staff.
Amity: Amity flies next to her. Don't worry, Willow. I had a hard time flying on my staff, too. But I learned a little trick to it. I can teach you if you'd like.
Willow: Oh. Thanks, Amity.
Hooty comes out to speak with Gus.
Hooty: Uh… Goops, how come you're riding with me and Lulu? You have a staff, too.
Gus: Yeah, let's just say last night I learned flying a staff isn't going to be as easy as I thought.
(Flashback)
Gus is in his backyard, carefully getting on his staff, only for it to fly backward, and then he blasts off uncontrollably into the air, where he screams.
(End of Flashback)
Gus shivers a little bit as Lilith watches Amity, trying to teach Willow how to balance her staff properly. Hooty comes up next to her.
Hooty: Are you okay, Lulu?
Lilith: Oh, I'm fine, Hootsifer. It's just… in all the years I've spent teaching Amity, I've never seen her so happy and full of energy, all because she met Luke.
Hooty: Yeah, Luke has that kind of effect on people for some reason. Look what effect he's had on you.
Lilith: Yes. That's true. And Amity has become a far better witch than she ever was under tutelage. I just… wish I could make things right with her.
Hooty: You mean apologize to her for using her to cheat at the Covention to beat Eda… and also for brutally hurting her when she helped Luke try to steal the Healing Hat?
Lilith: I wouldn't go as far as to say I "brutally" hurt her… but yes…
Hooty: Hoot! Don't worry, Lulu. I'm sure Amity will forgive you. Just talk to her.
Lilith: I hope I can, Hooty. I hope I can…
Luke looks back, saddened to realize just how out of place he feels. He takes out and stares at his palisman, which King and Eda notice.
Luke: Everyone has a staff but me.
Eda: Aww, don't feel bummed out, kid.
King: Yeah. You'll get one soon.
Luke: I really hope so, guys.
Lilith: We're here!
Everyone looks ahead to spot a large demonic cave with sharp teeth at the end of a field of snow surrounded by trees.
Lilith: This is the place! That cave is where Sparda's hideout should be!
The gang lands in front of the cave, dismounting off their staffs. Gus summons his staff, and Luke summons Rebellion as they all walk up to the cave. They gaze into the demonic mouth before them.
Luke: Yeesh. That is one creepy cave.
King: I hope I don't get nightmares from this.
Willow: Looks like the kind of hideout a legendary dark knight would have.
Lilith: We'll need to stay vigilant.
Eda: Relax, Lily. I'm not seeing any Emperor's Coven tools anywhere.
Lilith: Lilith deadpans. How many times has that been said only to come back and bite us?
Eda: Eda snorts and then double-takes. Huh. Now that you mention it, I've lost count.
Amity: Whatever. Let's just find what we're looking for and get out of here before the scouts arrive.
Luke: Let's go.
They all walk inside the cave.
The gang is walking inside the cave, Luke and Lilith having used a Light Glyph to light the way in. So far, all they've seen of this cave is total darkness.
King: I know we've been here for a few minutes, but so far, I'm not seeing anything special about this cave.
Eda: Let's just keep moving.
Everyone but Lilith and Amity walk further ahead. Since Luke and the others were out of earshot, this may be Amity's chance to patch things up with her old mentor. She walks right next to her.
Amity: So… you use glyph magic now?
Lilith: Yes. Luke has been a very good teacher for both me and Edalyn. I've even been practicing some combos I've come up with at home.
Amity: You know, it's kind of weird to see you smiling so much ever since you left the Emperor's Coven.
Lilith: I suppose not having to endure the pressures of living up to someone's expectations has helped me loosen up a little, especially since my mother and I are talking again. Honestly, I never thought we'd be so close since she was always giving attention to Edalyn.
Amity: At least your mom loves you… unlike mine.
Lilith: Lilith gives Amity a sympathetic look. I see your parents are still giving you problems.
Amity: My dad, not really. My mom, she is relentless. But… She smiles. I'm handling her fine now.
Lilith: Luke told me about the factory incident and how you stood up to your mother to save him. I must admit, I was quite impressed. I can see being friends with Luke has had quite an effect on you.
Amity: Yeah. It has. In the past… I never would've tried to talk back or stand up to my mom. But Luke changed me. Because of him, I'm a better person now. I'm friends with Willow again, and I finally feel like I'm able to choose my own path.
Lilith: And are you happy?
Amity: Amity looks at Lilith with a smile. I am happy, happier than I've ever been, and it's all thanks to Luke. His kindness and his determination… it's one of the many things that make me love him. She blushes and then double-takes. I mean, admire him! I mean, like him! I mean- you know what I mean!
Lilith: Lilith giggles a little. That's good. I'm happy for you, Amity, I really am.
Amity: Thank you. You know, thinking about everything Luke's done for me, it's hard to believe I tried to humiliate him at the Covention two months ago in that witch's duel.
Lilith saddens at the mention of the Covention, feeling guilt and shame over what she put Amity through that day.
Lilith: Yes… the Covention…
Amity also saddens a little as she looks down, remembering the tension that was between her and Lilith after the Covention.
Lilith: It's clear that Luke has made you into a far better witch than I ever could have.
Amity looks away from Lilith as they continue walking together.
Amity: That's… not completely true. You were always a good teacher to me. Luke just… had a different effect on me.
Lilith: Lilith gets closer to Amity. Amity, listen, I-
Gus: Hey, look up ahead!
Gus points ahead, showing everyone a light at the end of the tunnel. When everyone goes through the tunnel, they gasp in amazement at the sight before them.
Amity: Oh, my titan!
Luke: Whoa…!
They are in a huge cave structure covered in turquoise glittering crystals. There are two large tunnels for them to take. The gang is in awe of this beautiful sight.
Willow: Look at this place! It's-!
Gus: Beautiful! Just beautiful!
Amity: Have you ever heard about this cave, Lilith?
Lilith: No, I haven't! This is all quite a shock! I'm… actually starting to question my own historical expertise now.
Eda: A cave this big must have a hideout or two in here.
King: King points to the two tunnels up ahead. Maybe one of those tunnels might lead somewhere.
Luke: Then, let's split up and see what we can find.
Eda: King, Hooty, and Lilith, you're with me. King jumps onto Eda's shoulder. You kids go the other path and stick together. Got it?
Luke, Willow, Gus & Amity: Got it!
And with that, Eda, Lilith, King, and Hooty take one path, and Luke, Willow, Gus, and Amity take the other.
Luke's team was walking through their path, led by the human boy himself.
Luke: Alright Hex-Squad! Let's see if we can find any clues about Sparda.
Gus: Hex-Squad?
Luke: That's the name I came up with for our group. We have to call ourselves something.
Willow: Hmm. I kinda like it. It has a certain flare to it. What do you think, Amity?
They all look to Amity, but she doesn't respond. She's looking down, a little discouraged.
Luke: Amity? You okay?
Amity: She looks up. Huh?
Everyone stops walking; Luke, Willow, and Gus look at Amity in concern.
Willow: You kinda look like you're lost in another world.
Amity: Oh! Sorry, I was just thinking…
Gus: About what?
Amity: About me and Lilith. The two of us have been trying to talk, but… things are really awkward between us.
Gus: You mean because your old mentor used you to cheat in the Covention and totally humiliated you in front of the Emperor's Coven? And tried to kill you in the Emperor's Castle, not caring you were her apprentice? And hasn't seen you ever since the Petrification Ceremony?
Luke, Willow, and Amity all deadpan at Gus for his blunt statement.
Amity: Yes… that. She looks down. I want to connect with her again, but… I just can't see her the way I used to before the Covention.
Willow: Willow walks over, placing a hand on Amity's shoulder. It hasn't been that long since the Petrification Ceremony. I'm sure you two will work things out sooner or later. It's hard for me and Gus to completely trust her too.
Amity: I know. I just guess part of me wants to have with her…
Luke: What I have with Eda. Amity looks to Luke, smiling. Am I right, Ams?
Amity: Yeah. Pretty much. I guess I just want a mother figure. I mean, you've all seen what my actual mother is like. I just… wanted to believe maybe Lilith could fill that void. But, when she used me to cheat in the Covention, I was hurt; I didn't know what to think of her anymore. And I felt worse when we had to fight in the Emperor's Castle. I know she did the right thing in the end, turning against the emperor to help us, but…
Willow: Hey, it's okay. We get it. If any of us had a mom like yours, we'd be desperate to find a mother.
Gus: Give it some time. You don't have to force yourself to completely open up to Lilith. You've both been through a lot, after all.
Luke: Maybe, instead of trying to force anything, you two can start over. You're both different people now, so maybe you should get to know each other for the people you've changed into.
Amity: Amity looks down in contemplation. Huh. I never thought of it like that before. Maybe I can give it a try. She smiles at her friends. Thanks, guys.
Gus: Gus points ahead. Hey! Look at that!
In front of them, at a corner, appears to be a rather large door.
Willow: A door?
Amity: Is it locked?
Luke: Only one way to find out.
Luke cautiously walks up to the door and pushes it a little, opening it ajar.
Luke: It's open. Gus, help me out.
Gus runs up, and the two of them open the door together. The Hex-Squad gasps in surprise upon seeing a massive empty room. The walls are made of ice (not surprising); at the back is some kind of ice stage with steps leading up to it, and on both sides of the room are tables, chairs, and racks of weapons. The kids walk inside, exploring and searching the room.
Luke: Way past cool. This room's huge!
Willow walks over to a weapon rack, picking up a mace only for it to crumble into dust.
Willow: All this stuff is so old.
Gus was examining some tables.
Gus: No one's been here in over decades, so it's not too surprising.
Amity and Luke are standing in front of the stage.
Amity: There's a stage here. Obviously, to address an entire crowd.
Luke: Didn't Sparda raise an army to fight Belos?
Willow and Gus walk up to them.
Willow: Yeah. That's what we were taught. Wait, you don't think this is where Sparda trained his army, do you?
Luke: Judging by the weapons and the stage, I'd say, yeah.
Gus: So, this hideout was used not just for Sparda but to hide his army, too?
Amity: Looks like it. Let's keep searching. There's nothing useful in this room.
Luke: I hope Eda and the others are having better luck.
Eda and Lilith are walking down their route with King and Hooty in tow. Eda is admiring the cave diamonds while Lilith looks down, looking a little dejected.
Eda: Oh, wow. So many sparkle things. If I had known about it sooner, I would've taken it first before Sparda. Imagine all the things I could get with these diamonds, am I right, sis? She and King notice Lilith isn't listening. Hey Lilith, you okay?
Lilith: She looks up. What?
King: You haven't been geeking out over this cave for some reason. And quite frankly, that's really disturbing for you.
Lilith: Oh. Sorry, I've just been thinking about the tension between me and my former protégé.
Hooty: Lulu's worried Amity hates her.
Eda: Hate you? For what?
King: Probably because she used her to cheat in that witch's duel with Luke.
Eda: Oh yeah. I remember. Ah, that was a good day.
Lilith grumbles in annoyance over her younger sister, who is taking enjoyment out of that.
King: And beat her up at the Emperor's Castle, from what Luke told me.
Eda: Eda frowns. Yeah, that was not a good day for any of us, especially me.
Eda sees her older sister looking further dejected. She walks up and wraps an arm around Lilith with a smile.
Eda: Hey, come on. Cheer up, sis. I'm sure the old bossy boots doesn't hold any of that against you.
Lilith: I want to believe that… but I'm just not sure anymore. I've tried talking to her and telling her how sorry I am, but… things are just so awkward. I don't know if she'll ever forgive me.
Eda: What do you mean? Of course, she'll forgive you. I mean, I forgave you for cursing me and practically ruining my life, didn't I?
Hooty: Remember what I said when we became besties, Lulu? Every friendship has its ups and downs. That's exactly what's happening with you and Amity. Things might be awkward between you two now, but I'm sure it'll all work out.
Eda: Hooty's right… as weird as it sounds saying that, things will work out between you and bossy boots. Just try talking to her again and tell her how you feel.
Lilith: But what if she still hasn't forgiven me?
King: Even if she doesn't forgive you completely, it'll at least be a first step for the both of you. Plus, you and Amity are WAY different people than you were a month ago. This might be a good chance for you two to start over.
Eda: He's right. I mean, before, the two of you were as sour as lemon, but after meeting Luke, you're both showing your sweet centers. You should get to know each other again.
Lilith: Lilith looks down in contemplation. I… hadn't thought of it like that before. She smiles gratefully, looking up. I'll think about it.
Eda: Eda wraps an arm around Lilith. Cheer up, sister. If you need help, just know I've got your back.
Hooty: Actually, I've got her back. They stare at Hooty. You know, because she's wearing me as a-
King: We get it.
Eda: The point is, we're there for you, Lily.
Lilith: Lilith's smile becomes wider. Thank you.
Eda and Lilith stop when they find themselves in front of a wooden door attached to an office wall.
King: I think we've just found our hideout.
Eda: Only one way to find out. Let's see what Spard left behind for me.
Eda opens the door, and the sisters, King and Hooty, are now inside a room complete with a bed, walls with mantles holding weapons, two desks, one with a book and two photo frames, and another with a projector with a button next to it. The room was quite dark and dusty, forcing Lilith to use a light orb.
King: Yeesh, smells like something died in here.
Hooty: Wow, what a dump. Just what you'd expect from an old hideout. It even has that old hideout smell.
Lilith: Let's look around. There must be something Sparda left behind that will help us.
They walk inside, exploring the room a little. Lilith and Hooty inspect the mantle of weapons, and Eda walks up to the desk with the photos on it.
She picks up one, being a picture of her, Sparda, Lilith, Qrow, and Raine as kids all standing together, posing and smiling for the camera.
She gives it a warm smile and places it back before looking at the other photo, which she picks up. It's unclear what it is, but looking at it fills Eda with sorrow.
Lilith: Edalyn. Eda turns to her sister in front of the other desk. Come, look at this.
Eda hides the photo in her hair, walks up to Lilith, and they both look at the projector.
Lilith: What is this strange device?
Hooty: This looks like one of those magic box things Eda used to get from the Human World.
Eda: Luke explained them to me. It's a projector. You turn it on, and it plays any videos placed inside it.
King: King jumps down next to the button. Maybe this button will turn it on.
He presses the button and proves he is right. A light shines from the projector, creating a screen near the bed for Eda's group to watch. A man sits down in front of his desk, his chair and face aimed at the projector.
King and Hooty are shocked by who they see, while Eda and Lilith look like they've seen a ghost.
The man on the screen is a grown-up version of Luke, except his hair is longer and dark blue, and he's wearing fancier clothes. And there's a scar over his left eye.
King: Who is that guy!?
Eda: Sparda…
Lilith: Our dear friend…
King: That's Sparda!?
Hooty: He looks like a tall Luke!
King: They really do look alike!
Sparda: Hello, world. No, that's lame. Greetings watcher. No, even worse.
Eda chuckles and snorts a little while Lilith just smiles a bit.
Sparda: January 13th, 2008. Yes, that's much better! Now, if you're watching this, then you have found my hideout, and I've likely died. Eda and Lilith become disheartened. If you're an enemy, dammit! He smiles. If you're a friend, then great. This message may likely be my last. I've managed to live a good life, both in my realm and the Human Realm, even though I was forced to go on the run, but… He becomes crestfallen. Certain events have forced me to leave it all behind to stop Emperor Belos.
King and Hooty gasp in shock. Sparda in the Human Realm!?
King: Did he just say the Human Realm!?
Hooty: W-what does he mean!?
Eda: Just watch, and you'll learn.
Hooty: Eda? Do you know something about this?
Eda looks down saying nothing, Lilith sharing her feelings.
King: Eda… what are you not telling us?
Sparda: Sparda's expression contorts with rage. Belos… the damn bastard… no one knows the monster he truly is. But I do. Belos has plans for something called… the Day of Unity.
Eda: There's that name again.
King: This might be what we're looking for!
Sparda: For years, Belos has been trying to force every witch on the Boiling Isles into a coven and unite them under his system. While I didn't agree with it, I had no quarrel with him. Frankly, I never cared about his goals until… he sent some of his top-level scouts, coven heads, and a powerful monster to kill me and my partner, Darkwing Corvid. The gang widens their eyes at this. Of course, they were no match for us… except for that monster who we literally put on ice and sealed away in one of my hideouts.
King: M-m-monster? Sealed away…
Hooty: In a hideout?
Eda: Shh!
Sparda: Anyway… the attempt on our lives made us suspicious. It was after that Darkwing and I disguised ourselves as Coven Scouts and infiltrated the Emperor's Castle. We… overheard a lot of disturbing things… like Belos' plans to eliminate all devils.
This new piece of information comes as a complete shock to everyone, including Eda and Lilith.
King: Did I… did I hear that right?
Hooty: Eliminate all devils!?
Eda and Lilith exchange looks of pure horror. They knew Belos was out to get devils after Sparda's first battle with him, but they didn't know Belos was already planning to destroy them before that. This is an absolute bombshell.
Sparda: Apparently, Belos fears us devils. He believes we're too powerful and the embodiment of wild magic. Our adventures are one of the main reasons he's afraid. He believes we're a major threat to his plans. We weren't sure what his plans were, so we made multiple visits to the castle while surviving his assassination attempts on us, listening in through his doors. Sparda's expression becomes a grin, worrying everyone. And after what we heard… that was it. That was all we needed to hear… though I'm wishing we didn't. What we heard… is the reason why we stormed the castle and tried to kill the emperor together. Belos is attempting to harness as much magic as he can for this Day of Unity, which is supposed to turn our Demon Realm into a utopia free of wild magic.
Everyone gasps at this.
King: Free of wild magic? How is that even possible?
Eda and Lilith exchange concerned looks.
Sparda: But I know that's all a lie! He slams his fist on the table in anger, much to Eda and Lilith's surprise. Belos is preparing a spell for the Day of Unity. But for the sake of your safety, I can't tell you what that spell is or what it will do. If Belos were to find out, you know he'd stop at nothing to hunt you down. He has eyes everywhere, and the last thing I want is to risk anyone else's life. Plus, I'm not quite sure what this spell is. All I can tell you is it won't turn this world into a paradise… not after everything we've heard and witnessed. We had to stop him… to save our people, including all demons. And when I failed and escaped… Belos used our assault as an excuse to discredit devils and make us look like villains. Most people believed we had our reasons… but over half of the population sided with Belos. He even secretly succeeded in capturing some devils and either executed or petrified them over the years. Everyone's expressions morphed into horror. Darkwing and I saved as many of our captured brethren as we could, but… we couldn't save everyone. Sparda looks down in guilt and regret. It's all my fault some of my brothers lost their lives these past couple years. By attacking Belos, I provoked him into hunting down every single devil living on the Boiling Isles. A lot of devils really hated my guts after the stunt Darkwing and I pulled five years ago, and I can't blame them. They didn't realize Belos had fully intended to kill them from the beginning, but our actions caused him to go through with it sooner than he intended. He doesn't want our kind to interfere with the Day of Unity. It's supposed to take place in 13 years when the moon aligns in front of the sun. I'm personally going to ensure he doesn't live long enough for that day.
Eda's team can only listen with sadness as they know how well that ended. But what he says next is a real plot twister that puts them in shock as he gives a sigh of discontent.
Sparda: I'm not sure if I can defeat Belos. I barely survived our first encounter, and he's likely to have grown stronger. And with our resistance cut down in half after the raid he made in our headquarters… things are looking bleak. Lilith looks down in guilt and remorse. Eda could only give a look of pity for her sister. So, should I fail… it will be up to my son to finish what I started.
King: WHAT!? HIS SON!?
Hooty: PLOT TWIST!
Eda and Lilith gasp in sheer shock as they realize their suspicions are about to be confirmed once and for all.
After leaving the training room, the Hex-Squad continue walking through their tunnel… until they stop to gasp in disgust at what's before them. Encased in ice is a huge monster with a scar over one eye. It's comprised of mismatched parts from different animals (a Chimera). His head, torso, and four-digit claws are similar to a Lion's, and a single curved horn atop. He has talons instead of feet, a scorpion tail, and four wings that can unfold from his back.
Gus: Okay… this is very disturbing.
Luke: What the hell is that thing!?
Amity: I've never seen a monster like this before!
Willow: Neither have I. It looks like a gruesome combination of different animals.
Luke: Okay, I've seen a lot of ugly monsters, but that has got to be the ugliest thing I've ever seen.
Gus: Word. It looks like it's been frozen here for years.
Luke: You know… I've seen a monster like this in a video game of mine.
Amity: Really? Did it have a name?
Luke: It was called a Beowulf.
Willow: Willow recoils a little. You… don't think it's alive, do you?
After a few seconds of staring at the Beowulf… it's one good eye suddenly opens, causing the kids to hug each other, screaming in horror.
Their screams are heard from Sparda's hideout, much to Eda's team's surprise, just when they were about to watch more of the recording.
Hooty: What was that!?
Eda: The kids!?
King: Luke!
Lilith: We have to get back to them now!
Eda turns off the projector, snags it, and hides it in her hair. Then, she and Lilith run out of the room with King and Hooty in tow.
Devil May Cry 3 OST - Beowulf Battle
From the creature's perspective, it looks below to see the Hex-Squad. But when it sees Luke, it's overcome with rage. Boiling rage that causes its icy prison to begin cracking.
Luke: Luke deadpans at Willow. You just had to say that, didn't you?
Willow: Oops.
Eventually, the iceberg collapses and explodes, shards of ice flying out, prompting Amity to summon her staff and form an Abomination dome around her and her friends, protecting them from the ice.
Eda and Lilith are flying on their staffs through the tunnels. The explosion rocks the cave, much to their shock, as they ride and almost lose their balance.
King: What is happening!?
Eda: Only one guess! We have to get to Luke and the others now!
Lilith: Then we need to make haste!
Amity gets rid of her barrier, and the Hex-Squad looks to see a mist in front of them. It subsides to reveal the Beowulf monster emerging and stomping out of the remains of his icy prison before releasing a ferocious roar that rocks the very cave and spreading angelic wings that release feathers.
Beowulf: Sparda!
The Hex-Squad steel their nerves and get out their weapons. Luke ignites the blade of Rebellion, Gus brings out and ignites his Galdor Saber, Willow forms her Flower Gauntlets, and Amity forms her Abomination Chakrams.
Beowulf: That scent. I know that scent from anywhere.
Luke: It spoke!?
Beowulf: It's the stench of betrayal, the odour of the accursed excrement, Sparda!
Gus: Did he just say Sparda?
Beowulf: I will annihilate every last blood relation of Sparda!
Luke: Dude! What are you talking about!?
Amity: How do you know Sparda!? What are you!?
Beowulf: I was defeated and scarred by that accursed devil. He sealed me away in ice!
Beowulf lunges, and the kids all gasp, especially Luke, when Beowulf gets right in his face.
Beowulf: You! Though I am half blind, I can still see more than well enough. You resemble Sparda, and your odour is the same as his. Are you that excrement's offspring!?
Luke is confused. Did this creature just ask if he's Sparda's son?
Luke: Resemble!? Offspring!? I-
Beowulf: I will ask you again! Are you Sparda's son or not!?
Luke: No! I don't know what you're talking about! I don't know Sparda! I didn't even know he had a son!
Beowulf: Lies! You can't fool me, boy! Your scent is the same as that excrement! And I can see your resemblance. There's no mistaking it! You are Sparda's son!
Luke had his eyes widened in shock. Amity, Willow, and Gus were just as speechless as they stare at their human friend in concern.
Gus: Wait, what!?
Willow: Sparda's son!?
Amity: Luke…?
The human boy struggles to process the accusation that was made… him being the Son of Sparda. The son of a demon.
Luke: His son…?
Beowulf: That filth gave me this scar, and I swore revenge when he sealed me away! If I cannot take it on him, I will instead savour it on his son! I will destroy every relation to Sparda, and I will start by devouring you!
He roars, releasing a massive sound wave that forces everyone to shield themselves with their weapons. He swipes his claws, prompting Luke, Willow, Gus, and Amity to quickly jump back, getting a good distance from Beowulf and into fighting stances with their weapons.
Luke: I don't know what's going on, but I'm not on the menu today, dude! So, I'm not interested in being your dinner!
Amity: Neither are we!
Willow: We've got your back, Luke!
Gus: Let's get him!
Luke and Gus are the first to charge. Beowulf slices Luke with his left claw, and Luke blocks, holding it back with his sword. The creature slices Gus with his right claw, and he also blocks. Luke and Gus hold Beowulf back, allowing Amity to roll in front and toss her Chakrams. She casts a spell that turns them into goo, covering Beowulf's face and forcing him to stumble back, trying to rip the goo off. Willow summons a flower that catapults her into the air; she launches a barrage of punches at Beowulf's belly, pounding away and pushing him back slightly until he gets annoyed and smacks her aside. She cries out and slams into the wall. Quickly, she recovers and summons vines to catapult herself into the air again, where she dives down to land a punch on Beowulf's back, causing him to roar in pain as he tries to shake Willow off as she clutches onto his fur.
Luke switches Rebellion to Fire Mode and unleashes a massive fire blast from his sword with a thrust that burns Beowulf's chest, causing it to roar in agony as it stumbles back while Willow holds on. Amity forms a sword, and she and Gus stab the Beowulf's arms while Luke leaps with his sword in Light Mode to stab the Beowulf in the chest. It roars in agony but finds the strength to shake Luke, Amity, and Gus off. He grabs and yanks Willow off his back, tossing her away and sending her screaming.
Luke leaps up into the air to catch her.
Luke: I gotcha!
Willow: Thanks Luke!
Beowulf lunges at the two of them, but they quickly jump out of the way. Gus deactivates the Galdor Saber and summons his Chameleon Staff. He draws a large spell circle with it and summons a black dome that engulfs Beowulf. Luke, Amity, and Willow share a nod; the girls summon their staffs and fly into the dome, with Luke running after them.
Beowulf roars in anger as he finds himself surrounded by darkness.
Beowulf: You think a lack of sight will help you prevail!?
The silhouettes of Luke, Amity, and Willow circle around Beowulf as he growls.
Beowulf: Your illusions will not save your boy! I can smell your scent!
Suddenly, plant bombs are shot out and explode in front of Beowulf, wrapping his body in vines and roots, causing him to roar in rage. Vines then erupt from the ice beneath, wrapping around his arms and legs, followed up with Abomination goo piling down on him, pinning him down. The black dome disappears to reveal Willow and Amity have used their staffs to enhance their magic; Luke has his Glyph Guns combined and aimed, the plant bombs having been fired at him; Willow is restraining Beowulf, Amity continues sending goo to pin it down, and Gus has spell circles cast.
Amity: Luke! Now's your chance!
Luke: Right! Keep him pinned! I'm putting an end to this!
Luke switches to Rebellion and opens the blade, leaping at Beowulf to stab him in the head, but the beast, in a fit of rage, unleashes his wings and gets on his feet, releasing a roar and gust of wind that sends Luke flying, blowing off his hat and goggles in the process. He grunts loudly as he lands on his back. Beowulf's wings glow before unleashing hundreds of light bullets that rain down on the kids, much to their horror.
Gus: RUN!
Gus runs for it while Amity and Willow fly on their staffs. The three of them try to evade all the bullets, the girls using their flying skills and Gus running and jumping around, but eventually, Willow is the first one to get hit and blown away. She screams in pain as she's sent flying towards Gus, who catches her, but both hit the ice with a grunt along with their staffs.
Amity flies around dodging bullets, but eventually, an explosion from one of them sends her screaming and smashing against the wall. She drops on her chest with a grunt, her staff cluttering next to her.
Electric bullets are fired, and they smack Beowulf's face. He stumbles back and glares hungrily at Luke, who has his Glyph Guns aimed with just his goggles put back on his head.
Luke: Yo, ugly! Don't forget about me!
Beowulf: Oh, I haven't. I was saving the best for last! I'm going to enjoy devouring you!
Luke: I'm no one's lunch, buddy!
Luke charges in, firing a barrage of light and fire bullets that cause Beowulf to stumble back. The monster retaliates by spreading his wings and unleashing raining bullets, but Luke runs around, dodging the bullets. He runs along the ice wall and leaps off, firing more bullets from his Glyph Guns. This time, Beowulf isn't fazed and backhands Luke. He hits the ice ground hard, and when he gets up, Beowulf smashes Luke with his fist. Luke gives a loud grunt and falls on his back, his feet dropping down as he lies in the crater that was made, groaning in pain and struggling to keep his eyes open.
Amity, Willow, and Gus and are still barely conscious, struggling to move as Beowulf approaches Luke.
Beowulf: Time to die!
Suddenly, a fire blast engulfs Beowulf, and he roars in pain. Then, an ice glyph is tossed, encasing his lower body in solid ice. He looks up to see Eda and Lilith on their staffs, King on Eda's shoulder, and Lilith holding Hooty like a bazooka; all have determined looks.
Eda: Back off, ugly!
Lilith: You leave those kids alone, you unholy monstrosity!
Hooty: Special Delivery! PAIN!
Hooty spits out a potion from his mouth into Beowulf's face, making him stumble more. Lilith flies around the monster as he throws as many punches as he can at Lilith, only to miss every time. When he almost lands a punch, vines wrap around his wrist, pulling his arm back and making him completely immovable. The vines come from Eda, who pulls with all her strength. She places a Fire Glyph on the vines, sending out flames that travel through them and engulf Beowulf, causing him to roar in pain. Even more so when Lilith has Hooty fire more potions in a rather disturbing way. She holds him as he fires, looking disgusted. Potions keep exploding in Beowulf's face.
Beowulf: ENOUGH!
Beowulf spreads his wings and breaks out of the ice with a roar of rage. He grabs Hooty, causing the Owl Demon to gasp for air. He and Lilith are tossed and sent screaming into Eda and King. Both sisters shout in pain as they fall and hit the ground hard, along with Hooty, King, and their staffs. With them dealt with, Beowulf stomps towards Luke, who struggles to lift himself up.
Beowulf: It doesn't matter how many of you insects there are! It will not stop me from getting my revenge!
Beowulf brings up his giant fist, which glows as he prepares to kill Luke. He thrusts, and Luke braces himself, but a lasso made of abomination goo wraps around Beowulf's wrist, stopping him in place. He looks back to see Amity back on her feet, the lasso having come from her.
Luke: Amity!?
She holds Beowulf back, her face radiating with determination.
Amity: Leave him alone!
Beowulf: Fine! I'll kill you first, child!
Beowulf grabs the lasso and yanks Amity off the ground, causing her to scream. The monster swings Amity around, smashing her against an ice wall, and she loudly cries out in pain. She screams more when Beowulf smashes her onto the ground, too, and then the wall a couple more times. He then reels in Amity and delivers a punch, snapping the goo and sending the youngest Blight flying as she screams in pain. She crashes into the end wall hard and drops on her chest.
Luke gasps in shock as Amity lies on the floor, bruised and her winter clothes a little tattered. When she struggles to get on her knees, Beowulf snatches her in his grip and holds her up in the air. Amity grunts and struggles but is unable to escape, and Beowulf puts the squeeze on her. Amity screams in pain as she feels her bones breaking. She writhes and cries out, unable to escape.
Beowulf: If you desire death so badly, I will gladly grant it to you!
He squeezes harder, and Amity screams louder. A couple of shots are fired at the side of Beowulf's face, making him flinch a little, and he growls.
Luke: Hey!
Amity and Beowulf look to see Luke having fired his Glyph Guns to catch the monster's attention. His face radiates with confidence as he aims his guns.
Luke: Let the girl go, gruesome!
Luke charges with his guns in hand again. Beowulf smashes the ice with his free fist, sending a rupture towards Luke, but he fires his grapple claw from one gun, and it clutches onto an icicle, allowing Luke to fly up and dodge the ice rupture, which causes a slight tremor in the tunnels. Luke dives and flips down to deliver an axe kick to Beowulf's head, causing him to flinch and stumble, releasing Amity.
Luke lands and rolls forward to catch Amity, who has her eyes closed in his arms, holding her bridal style.
Luke: Gotcha! You okay!?
Amity opens her eyes to smile gratefully.
Amity: Ribs are a little cracked, but I'm okay, thanks to you.
Luke and Amity gaze into each other's eyes and blush, realizing the position they're in. They look to see Beowulf, who raises his fist to crush them.
Beowulf: I'll make you suffer!
Luke tosses a Light Glyph like a boomerang, and a burst of light engulfs Beowulf's good eye, causing him to roar in pain and cover his eye, stumbling around and smashing into a couple of walls as Luke holds his breath and activates an Invisibility Glyph, disappearing. He reappears a couple of distances away from the monster, where Luke sets Amity down. She reaches out, and her staff flies back into her hands as she looks up at Luke, smiling.
Luke: Stay here, Amity. I've got this!
Luke stands protectively in front of Amity as he glares at Beowulf, who regains his composure and hatefully glares at Luke, but the boy shows no fear and threw off his hat.
Luke: You just crossed the line, freak! I'm gonna say this once! STAY AWAY FROM MY AMITY!
...
Luke spreads his body and unleashes his Devil Trigger, transforming into Devil Form via blue sparks of electricity, his eyes changing colour, his limbs changing form, and his wings sprouting. When the electric surge disappears, and Luke spreads his wings, Amity gasps in surprise to see Luke in his Devil Form for the first time since the Petrification Ceremony. The sight of Devil Luke causes Amity's eyes to glisten as she stares at her crush in admiration with starry eyes, the atmosphere around her turning pink.
Willow and Gus gasp in astonishment to see Luke's Devil Form. They join Amity along with Eda, Lilith, King, and Hooty.
Willow: Oh, my Titan! It's that Devil Form again!
Gus: Luke can turn into a devil at will now!?
King: Yup! He figured out how to go devil whenever he wants to now! Go get him, Luke! Feast on his brains!
Eda: Luke! Be careful!
Luke dismisses his guns for Rebellion, which he re-ignites and takes flight, blasting off towards Beowulf. Luke slashes, and Beowulf throws a punch; their sword and fist collide and cause a huge surge of electricity that rocks the entire cave, causing a deep rumbling as cracks form the slowly collapsing ceiling. Luke pushes with all his strength against Beowulf; the harder he pushes, the stronger the electric surge and the more violent the tremors get.
Beowulf: This power. This form. There's no denying it now! You are the SON OF SPARDA!
Luke widens his eyes, and the electrical collision finally explodes, sending Luke flying, but not before he sends a lightning blast into Beowulf's eye, burning it. Beowulf roars in agony and drops on his back, the impact resulting in rocks from the ceiling burying him. Luke falls on his back with a heavy grunt. Amity and Eda run over and drop down to him.
Amity: Luke!
Eda: Kid! You okay!?
Just as Luke lifts himself up, the tunnels are collapsing and trembling, rocks falling from above, much to everyone's fear.
Hooty: Uh-oh!
Lilith: The tunnels are collapsing!
Willow: We have to get out of here now, or we'll get buried alive!
Lilith and Willow get on their staffs, and Gus rides behind Lilith. Luke, Eda, Amity, and King all share a nod.
The gang is flying through the collapsing tunnels on their staffs while Luke is still in Devil Form with King riding him. They dodge all the rocks and boulders falling from above as the tunnels and diamonds collapse.
Luke: Go, go, GO!
They see the exit back into the dark cave they had previously walked through and fly through it. The cave is also on the verge of collapsing, and the vibrations become more violent. They see a light at the end of the tunnel, which is the exit, and fly at max speed.
Soon, the entire group bursts out of the cave, which collapses into a pile of rocks and rubble.
After getting off their staffs, Luke reverts to normal; everyone is panting outside, spread out, and lying around the snow after the life-threatening experience they just had.
Gus: That… was… horrifying.
Willow: I don't think I'll be going inside caves for a long time.
Amity is sitting down, Lilith by her side, wrapping bandages around her cut knee. When she finishes, they share a smile.
Amity: Thank you.
Hooty: What was that horrifying monstrosity!?
Lilith: That must've been the monster Sparda and Darkwing had frozen and sealed away.
King: Of all the hideouts it had to be sealed away in, why did it have to be this one!? What was up with that thing!? That monster only cared about killing Luke and nobody else!
Willow: It said it wanted to destroy every blood relation of Sparda and that Luke had his scent.
Gus: But that doesn't make any sense. Sparda was a demon, and Luke's a human. There's no way they could be related, right, Luke?
Everyone looks to Luke, waiting for a response, but he just stares out into the field of snow silently, turned away from his friends who all worry for him. Amity manages to walk over to Luke despite her leg injury.
Amity: Luke, are you okay?
Luke turns his head, worrying Amity and the rest when he shows a shaky expression. He walks over to Eda, who can only stare at his shock and pleading in sadness.
Luke: Eda… who am I?
Eda sweats in fear of seeing Luke close to figuring out the truth. She forces on her optimistic face out of panic.
Eda: Uh… you're Luke, of course! Luke the Human!
Luke: DON'T PLAY GAMES WITH ME, OWL LADY! I KNOW THAT LOOK YOU'RE GIVING! YOU'RE HIDING SOMETHING FROM ME, AREN'T YOU!? SPILL IT!
Everyone is stunned by Luke's outburst, especially Eda, who holds up her hands.
Eda: Now, Luke, just calm down.
Luke: DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN, EDA! I'M NOT GONNA CALM DOWN AFTER WHAT I LEARNED! That Frankenstein thing told me I look like Sparda. He said I'm the Son of Sparda! WHAT DOES HE MEAN BY THAT!? WHAT ARE YOU KEEPING FROM ME!?
King: Yeah, I'm kind of wondering that myself now, Eda.
Willow: Just what aren't you telling us?
Amity: Just what is Luke's connection to Sparda?
Gus: Yeah, answer all these pestering questions.
Luke: I want answers, Owl Lady! Now!
Eda: Luke, please! I don't know how you'll react to this!
Luke: React to what!? What is it you're trying to hide from me about Sparda? What's our connection!? TELL ME, EDA!
Eda: Luke, you don't understand!
Luke: Oh, let me guess! I'M SO FRAGILE I CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!? BECAUSE I'M HUMAN! WELL, YOU CAN SHOVE THAT-!
Eda: THAT'S NOT IT LUKE!
Luke: WHAT IS IT THEN!?
Eda: HE'S YOUR FATHER!
There is silence after that; the atmosphere is filled with nothing but sheer disbelief over this revelation. Even the winds have gone silent. The only sound is Eda's voice echoing throughout the area. Gus, Willow, Amity, King, and Hooty have their mouths and eyes agape in shock, while Lilith is just saddened.
Luke is speechless with the revelation he just heard; his eyes widen in disbelief.
Luke: What…?
Amity, Willow, Gus, King, & Hooty: WHAT!?
Luke is so stunned he takes a little step back, rendered speechless. Sparda… his father. It doesn't make any sense. Eda sighs; the truth's been revealed.
Eda: I'm sorry, Luke. This wasn't how I wanted to break it to you, but I have no choice now.
Lilith: We've both been aware of this for some time now, Luke.
All the kids, including King and Hooty, are confused.
King: Eda, Lilith, what are you talking about? That doesn't make any sense.
Hooty: Yeah. Now I'm real confused.
Willow, Gus, and Amity walk up behind Luke, equally confused.
Willow: There's no way Sparda is Luke's father. How is that even possible!?
Eda: Well, for starters, Luke bears a strong resemblance to Sparda. She looks back to Luke. That's partly why you remind me of him. You have his looks and his eyes.
Lilith: Yes, we noticed the moment we both met him. Dare I say, Luke, you're the spitting image of Sparda when he was a boy. You look so alike that I almost mistook you for him.
King: Just because they look alike doesn't mean they're related! There are plenty of look-alikes in the Human and Demon Realms.
Gus: Luke's a human, and Sparda was a demon. I mean, look at him; his ears are round, and he doesn't have a magic bile sack.
Lilith: True. But Luke has a powerful connection with the Rebellion, a sword forged by Sparda.
Amity: But there's nothing in history about Sparda ever having married. How could he have a son?
Eda: That's because Sparda never married in the Demon Realm. He found someone he loved… in the Human Realm.
Now, this was a real shocker.
Gus, Willow, Amity, King, & Hooty: WHAT!?
Gus: Sparda!? In the Human Realm!?
Willow: But how!?
Eda: I'm how. After escaping Belos the first time, I used the portal door to send Sparda into the Human Realm to go into hiding. Eda sighs sadly. During our childhood, we became friends with a human. Sparda fell in love with her, and they eventually got married.
Amity: So that's how Sparda disappeared, and why no one could find him? He was hiding out in another realm?
Lilith: Yes. That's right.
Eda: And a couple years after their marriage, they gave birth to a baby boy.
Luke: And that boy was… me?
King widens his eyes, realizing something from all this.
King: But wait. If Luke's dad is a demon and his mom's a human, wouldn't that make him…?
Lilith: Yes. His father is a witch.
Eda: And his mother is a human.
Lilith: Luke has both human and demon blood flowing in him. That would make him half-human, half-demon. He's a human-witch hybrid.
Everyone gasps at this information. Luke is silently mortified as he struggles to process what he's just learned.
Luke: I'm… not human?
Eda: Eda drops to her knee. No! You are human! But by blood, you're part human. And at the same time…
Eda takes something out of her hair and holds it out to Luke. She opens it up and presents the duplicate amulet with the pink gem to Luke. Luke gasps at the sight of this.
Luke: No way! That's…
Luke takes out his own amulet, causing the rest of the kids to gasp when they gather around.
Gus: They're identical!
Luke slowly reaches out to the amulet, and when he touches it along with Eda's hand, both amulets glow for a brief shiny moment, and he gasps when memories flash in his head.
Devil May Cry 5 – He's your father OST
(Flashback)
Luke sees himself as a baby being cradled in the arms of a woman (whose face was shrouded by a cloak) who ran through a forest, giving desperate breaths while the baby cries non-stop.
(End of Flashback)
Luke gives a heavy gasp of fear, retracting his hand and moving back in horror. After catching his breath, Luke and Eda gaze into each other's eyes as the latter stands up.
Luke: What am I?
Eda closes her eyes in regret before opening them again.
Eda: You're part-demon, Luke. You're the Son of the Legendary Dark Knight Sparda.
Again… Luke is rendered speechless at this full confirmation, his eyes shrinking as he steps back, shaking his head in denial again. He can be heard muttering "No" in refusal. The only sounds he can give after are heavy breaths, stunned and mortified as he looks down. Eda walked around Luke, clutching her staff.
Eda: I had the feeling the first time I met you, but I just wasn't sure. She stopped and turned her head to face back at Luke. And then I saw how the Rebellion reacted. That night at Grom. And I was certain… he's your father.
Luke keeps breathing but is unable to process it. The rest of the gang are just as stunned.
Hooty: No way…
Lilith: Edalyn's logic is sound. Luke looks to Lilith, who is walking up to her with a saddened look. I had a hunch myself when I first met you at the Covention, Luke. Your resemblance to Sparda, your affinity and mastery with the Rebellion. It all fits.
Eda: When we saw you transform into a devil right before our eyes… it became fully clear that you're his son.
Luke couldn't believe his ears. But there was no denying it now. The Rebellion reacting to him the way it does, his mastery over it, his devil powers, Belos connecting him with Sparda, and Beowulf trying to kill him… he truly is the Son of Sparda. A human and demon hybrid. And all this time, he was never aware. He had always wondered who he was and who his parents were… but he never imagined anything like this. The other kids, King and Hooty, are also processing it all while worrying for Luke.
Luke: My father…?
…
Gus: That… would explain your crazy devil powers.
Willow: And the Rebellion reacting to you the way it does.
King: And why you're so strong.
Amity: Luke…?
Luke pants, close to having a meltdown. Amity quickly takes hold of his hand.
Amity: Luke, look at me. It's okay. It's going to be okay.
King looks at Luke in sorrow, understanding what he's going through. Willow, Gus, and Hooty are greatly concerned, and Eda and Lilith can only stare at Luke in guilt for not telling him about this sooner.
They're taken out of their thoughts by a sudden earthquake shaking the entire area.
Willow: What's going on now!?
King: Can't we ever catch a break!?
The snowy ground in front of them explodes, and a monstrous figure bursts out, revealing itself to be Beowulf. He blasts off into the air and lands on his feet, giving a vicious roar in the direction of Luke and the gang, his eye burnt closed, much to everyone's horror and dismay.
Gus: Not this guy again!
Beowulf: The odious one whose heart pumps with the blood of Sparda. Though my sight is gone, I remember your scent! I shall hunt you down for eternity if I must until I rid this word of your foul smell!
Beowulf arms glow white, and he smashes the ground, sending out a rupture towards the gang.
Luke: Scatter!
Luke, Willow, Gus, Amity, Eda, and Lilith obey and jump out of the way, with King holding onto Eda. Beowulf smashes the snow again, creating a massive earthquake that shakes the entire snow field.
Gus: Willow! Look out!
Gus tackles Willow out of the way when snow erupts from beneath like a geyser. More snow erupts around Eda, Lilith, King, and Hooty, prompting them to shield their faces. Before Luke could attack, he gasps when he sees the snow beneath Amity cracking.
Luke: Amity, run!
Amity: Huh?!
Amity gasps to see the snow crack, and the ground beneath her opens wide. She falls, screaming for her life, and Luke comes running to reach out for her.
Luke: Amity!
Luke grabs Amity's hand, but the ledge he is standing on crumbles, and he falls with her. Both scream as they fall down the crack, much to the horror of Eda, Lilith, and King.
Eda & King: Luke!
Lilith: Amity!
Beowulf drops in front of the Clawthorne Sisters, roaring in their faces, prompting Willow and Gus to run up and summon their staffs, all of them preparing to fight back.
Meanwhile, down below, Amity groans as she struggles to open her eyes. Ghost licks her face, which helps her wake up. She sees her cat palisman on her.
Amity: Ghost? What happened? She lifts herself up, rubbing her head. Ugh. My head. She looks up, remembering what happened. That's right. I fell, and then Luke jumped in to… She gasps. Where's Luke!?
Ghost: Meow.
Ghost points over to Luke, sitting against a wall, cringing as he holds his wrist.
Amity: Luke! She runs over and drops to her knees. Luke, are you okay!?
Luke: I'm cool. I'm cool!
Ghost: Amity and Ghost share a look. Meow.
Amity: You broke my fall and ended up spraining your wrist!
Luke: I said it's cool, Amity! It's nothing to worry about!
Amity: Don't try to hide it! Let me take a look.
Amity takes Luke's wrist, removes his right glove, and gasps to see it's a little red.
Luke: Amity, it's okay. I'm fine.
Amity: You won't be fine if it swells up. It's better to be safe than sorry.
Amity gets out bandages from her coat pocket and begins wrapping them around Luke's wrist. The now-revealed hybrid turns his head away, blushing a little. After a couple of seconds, Amity finishes wrapping Luke's wrist, though her face is filled with guilt.
Amity: Luke, I'm so sorry. This was because of me. If you hadn't jumped down to save me, you wouldn't have-
Luke: Luke just smiles. If I hadn't jumped down to save you, you'd be dead. Right now, I'm just glad you're safe. That's all that matters to me right now. So quit the pity party, would ya?
Amity blushes as she smiles.
Amity: Thank you. She looks down with a chuckle. You know… this feels a little familiar. Didn't something like this already happen?
Luke: Oh yeah. I remember, it was when I was trying to learn my third spell. I freaked out when you told me if I didn't know three spells by the start of the semester, I'd end up in the baby class. That was not gonna look good on my rep.
Luke sits down on a rock, and Amity sits on the snow next to him; Ghost sitting on her lap.
Amity: Yeah. Then you asked to borrow my training wand to help you learn magic.
Luke: Which ended up with me accidentally burning a Slitherbeast…
Amity softly strokes Ghost, which makes her Palisman purr.
Amity: And getting us trapped in a hole while my siblings and your mentor were about to get eaten. We confessed some really deep secrets to each other that day.
Luke: Yeah. Luke looks down in sadness. I talked about how I could never fit in with the kids in my world and how I could never make friends there. You know…I always felt there was a reason for that. He places a hand over his heart, and Amity narrows her eyes in concern. Deep down… I knew there was something off about me. I kept asking myself why I couldn't fit in with others. Now I know. It's because I'm not truly human. I'm the son of a human and a witch. I'm not human or demon. I'm a hybrid, a half-breed.
Amity: Luke…
Luke: Everyone at home was right about me. I'm a freak, Amity, both at home and in this world.
Luke gasps a little as he feels Amity grab his shoulders and pull him to her face, looking him right in the eyes with a determined and serious look.
Amity: No, you're not! Don't you ever call yourself that! You're not a freak, Luke!
Luke: But Amity-
Amity: But nothing! You think any of us care whether or not you're half-human or half-demon? You're our friend, Luke, and we want to help you.
Luke: But Amity, I'm a hybrid. Are you really okay with being friends with me?
Amity just warmly smiles as she takes Luke's hand, helping him up as they both stand face to face.
Amity: It doesn't matter if you're a hybrid or who your parents are, Luke. She caresses his face. You're you. And I can't think of anyone I want to be with more than you.
Luke: Luke is touched. Amity…
Amity: Luke, whether you're human, demon, hybrid, or the Son of Sparda, it doesn't change how I… She blushes. I mean, WE all love you. No demon in this world would've ever reached out to us. But you did, Luke. You reached out to me, Willow, Gus, Eda, King, Lilith, and even Hooty. We were all in a bad place, and you saved us from that with your kindness. We're better people today because of you, a human. I can't think of anyone who's as human as you are.
Luke: Luke looks away. But after what I just learned… I don't know who I am anymore.
Amity: Amity gently has him face her. It's okay. I can tell you who you are. You're MY Luke. You're the sweetest guy I've ever met, and that's the Luke I've come to care so much about. I bet, right now, your palisman knows that, too.
Luke brings out his idle wolf palisman from his coat and gives it a deep stare in its carved eyes. He then looks back to Amity, who continues smiling as she touches Luke's cheek.
Amity: I know things are crazy right now. Trying to figure out your future, finding out you're the Son of Sparda, but… we're all here to help you get through that. You've done so much for me, Luke; you helped me when I was in a bad place, so I promise I'll do everything I can to help you just like you did for me.
Luke: Luke's heart melts, close to tears. Amity, I… I don't know what to say.
Amity: You don't need to say anything. You taught me how to live my life, and my future is mine to decide. The same goes for you.
Luke looks down at his palisman, deep in thought, as he absorbs Amity's words and realizes she's right. Even if he is a human and demon hybrid, it doesn't change who he is. Being the Son of the Dark Knight Sparda doesn't change anything. He's still Luke, and only he chooses who he feels he is and wants to be in the future. Even if he doesn't fully understand it all, he knows he can count on his friends to help him get through it all. He may not know his future or his deepest desire yet, but he knows what he wants to do at this very moment.
Luke: You're right. I'm Luke Noceda. It doesn't matter who my parents are or what I'm supposed to be. I'm still me, and that's never going to change. Luke thumbs himself. And only I get to choose who I am!
Amity: Ghost jumps onto Amity's shoulder. Yes, exactly!
In response to this, the palisman in Luke's hands begins to glow slightly blue.
Luke: I want to use my magic to figure that out. I don't know what it is I want to do with my life or what my future holds, but I do know one thing… and that's what I desire right now… to protect everyone I love and not let someone like Belos ruin other people's lives like he did with Eda, Lilith, and my father! And… He blushes a little at what he's about to say next. I want to be with you every step of the way, Amity.
Amity: Amity blushes with him. I want to be with you too, Luke.
The two of them gaze into each other's eyes, leaning forward to try sharing a kiss again. But again, they're disrupted when a burst of blue mystical energy explodes in between them, causing them to recoil. Luke opens his eyes, looking up in shock to see a vortex of energy gathering together in a single place with a staff beneath. It slowly floats down, and Luke and Amity walk up to it, their expressions filled with awe along with Ghost. Luke slowly grabs his staff, and when he does, an eruption of energy blasts up the crack.
His palisman has been brought to life.
OMG! Luke's palisman has come to life! That's right! Not only has Luke made his palisman earlier, but it's also come to life earlier, too! What's it gonna look like, and what's his name? We're going to find out in Part 2!
Part 2 is coming Sunday like I said. The next chapter will debut two new characters. One is Luke's palisman which you already know and the other is a woman whose identity I won't disclose yet unless someone guesses.
