Up above, Eda and the rest are trying to hold off Beowulf. Lilith is firing potions from Hooty like a bazooka once again while flying around on her staff. Eda and Willow (with King hiding behind Eda) are using plant magic to ensnare Beowulf's wrists, immobilizing him long enough for Gus to jump and stab him in the back with his saber. Beowulf roars in rage, lifting and tossing Eda and Willow up into the air, and they scream as they get smashed into each other, dropping to the snow on their chests. He yanks Gus off and tosses him at Lilith, knocking her off her staff, and they have a hard landing near Eda and Willow. Everyone lifts themselves up to see Beowulf spread his wings and bring up his fists to deliver the finishing blow.
Beowulf: Once I crush you annoying insects, I will hunt down the boy and devour him until he's dead!
Eda, Lilith, King, Hooty, Willow, and Gus brace themselves for the pain, but they're saved when an eruption of blue mystical energy bursts out from the crack behind Beowulf, catching everyone's attention. The blue energy goes upward to the sky and smashes down into the snow.
Beowulf: What!?
A blast of electrical energy is shot out of the pillar and sends Beowulf flying into a boulder.
Devil May Cry 3 – Devils Never Cry
Eda, Willow, Gus, and Lilith get up to the pillar, which dissipates to reveal Luke and Amity, the former holding his own staff in his hand with a look of shock. Right now, his palisman is in the form of a blue orb to which he and Amity stare in amazement, as do Eda and the rest.
Willow, Gus, Lilith, and Hooty gasp in shock while Eda proudly smiles.
Gus: Luke has a staff!
Willow: Why does that make me feel uncomfortable?
King: Luke's palisman! It came to life!?
Eda: Dang! I knew the kid had it in him!
Luke holds up his new staff, staring at it in awe.
Luke: Whoa… wicked.
Amity: The palisman felt your emotions. Amity smiles proudly, clutching Luke's arm. Luke! You did it! You finally have your own witch's staff!
Luke: Luke smiles back. Yeah. I do…
Beowulf roars from the boulder and makes a large leap towards Luke and Amity.
Lilith: Amity!
Eda: Luke! Watch out!
Luke and Amity turn to see Beowulf lunging at them, the latter quickly turning Ghost into a staff. She's taken by surprise when Luke grabs her arm. She cries out when she and Luke disappear via blue energy and lightning, his own version of a Flash-Step. Beowulf ends up punching the snow, much to his confusion.
Luke reappears and lands on the snow behind Beowulf, holding Amity bridal style, causing them both to blush. Before Beowulf can find him, Luke flash-steps again, teleporting right in front of the others, where he sets Amity down.
Luke: Way past cool!
Eda and King hug Luke, while Lilith hugs Amity.
Lilith: Thank Titan, you're both okay!
Amity: It's thanks to Luke we are.
King: Luke! Your palisman! It's come to life!
Gus: You have magic, dude!
Willow: You did a Flash-Step! Just like the Golden Guard! Since when were you able to do that!?
Luke: Luke shows his new staff. Palisman power, baby! I finally have a staff now!
Eda: You sure do! I knew you could do it, kiddo!
Beowulf grabs their attention with his roar. He charges towards them, and they all summon their staffs, ready to fight back. But Luke runs up in front, holding his own staff with determination.
Luke: Stand back! I've got this!
Luke flash-steps, teleporting in front of Beowulf, making the monster stop in his tracks.
Beowulf: Repulsive offspring of Sparda!
Luke: Me, repulsive? Luke grins. Dude, have you looked at yourself in a mirror?
Beowulf: You? A mere human dares to mock me!?
Luke: I'm not just any human, pal.
Beowulf: I'll break you, torment you, and devour you until you're dead! I won't stop until every last relation to Sparda is wiped off the face of the world!
Luke: A son cleaning his father's mess? Where have I heard this story? You want to eat me so badly. Well, come on, boy. I'm right here!
Beowulf swipes with his claws, but Luke flash-steps backward. Beowulf sprouts his wings and unleashes shots of light, but the palisman flies up in front, cancelling the shots out before Luke catches it in his hands, smiling at the glowing blue orb.
Luke: I don't know what you're gonna look like, but thanks, little guy.
Beowulf proceeds to crush Luke with his palm, but Luke flash-steps to the right and then flash-steps high into the air above Beowulf, where he spins around and unleashes multiple bolts of lightning from his staff. Three explode around Beowulf, and a fourth engulfs him and blows him away. He claws into the snow. Luke flash-steps nearby to smash his staff against his right arm, engulfing Beowulf in electricity that makes him roar in pain and agony.
The monster quickly knocks Luke off, and he rolls on the snow but manages to stand his ground before flash-stepping again. He smacks Beowulf in the head, shocking him with electricity. Beowulf swipes, but Luke flash-steps again to smack his left arm, then his right leg, tail, and back, and then delivers a hard smack to his face that sends him skidding back.
Beowulf unleashes hundreds of light shots from his wings, but Luke flies on his staff like a surfboard, dodging every single one with skills and flash-steps. He does a quick 180, summoning his Glyph Guns as he flies through the raining bullets. He leaps up, firing electric and fire bullets that make Beowulf stumble back. He then switches to Rebellion in Electric Mode and slices the monster in the stomach. He roars in pain as Luke drops down, his staff flying beneath him for him to grab the end of, pulling him away as he gives a two-fingered salute to the monster.
Luke: Eat that!
Beowulf: I'LL RIP YOU APART!
Beowulf rushes towards Luke, but a boulder smashes into his stomach, stopping him in place. It was thrown by Gus, who used his staff.
Gus: Not on our watch!
Gus runs forward to create another spell circle with his Chameleon Staff, unleashing a sword storm that impales Beowulf, and he roars in pain. Willow rises into the air on a huge vine and draws a spell circle with her Bee Staff, thrusting it into the circle to send out another large vine to ensnare Beowulf. Amity runs up, creating a large spell circle with her Cat Staff and raising it into the air, unleashing Abomination goo that encases Beowulf's legs, making him fully immobile.
Eda and Lilith are standing together, looking at their staffs.
Eda: If Luke can do magic with a staff…
Lilith: Then so can we!
Eda and Lilith bring up their staffs together and draw a spell circle, half-gold, and half-blue, unleashing a joint energy beam at Beowulf that sends him flying and crashing down near the crack.
Beowulf scrambles up to his feet, but Luke does one final flash-step, teleporting right in front of Beowulf, and unleashes his Devil Trigger, turning into Devil Luke and reeling his staff back.
Luke: Jackpot!
Luke thrusts his staff, gathering energy and releasing it in a massive blast of mystical electric dark blue energy that engulfs Beowulf, sending him flying up into the air, where he roars in pain. The blast then redirects, sending him down the crack and causing a massive explosion that forces everyone to shield their eyes from the energy bursting out from the crack.
…
Eda and the gang watch in silence as Luke turns around with a victorious smirk, spinning his staff and sticking it to the snow, reverting to human form.
Luke: Nailed it!
The kids cheer for joy and rush towards Luke.
Amity: Luke, you did it!
Gus: That was amazing!
Amity is the first to jump into Luke's arms for a hug, causing him to blush a little. Then Gus, Willow, and King join in on the hug, and the five kids all laugh until Hooty wraps his body around them and squeezes them, causing them to gasp for air as Eda and Lilith join in with proud smiles. Luke's palisman glows brighter.
Luke: My palisman!
Hooty releases everyone, and Luke holds his staff with joy.
Luke: Guys! Come meet my palisman!
Everyone gathers around, gasping in anticipation and excitement.
Gus: Beautiful! Just beautiful!
King: I wanna see! I wanna see!
Eda: It's about time!
Lilith: Ooh! I wonder what animal it's going to be!
Amity: It's a dog!
Willow: What kind of dog is it going to be!?
Hooty: Can I eat him!?
Eda & King: NO!
Luke: Behold! My palisman!
The orb rises into the air, and it takes shape and forms into a wolf pup surrounded by blue light. The pup is the same size as Ghost. Its fur is a mixture of dark blue and white, with a blue tail and green eyes.
It gives a bright smile as it's born. The pup lands on the snow and howls with joy into the sky.
Pup: Arrrroooo!
Its howl echoes into the air, and it begins panting and barking with joy. He runs forward and jumps into Luke's arms, tackling him down to the snow. The boy falls on his back as he greets his palisman, holding the wolf up.
Luke: Hey, boy! Nice to finally meet you.
Pup: Woof!
The pup responds by licking Luke's face, causing him to laugh a little. Everyone, even Lilith and Eda, fawn at the scene.
Everyone: Awww!
Amity: He's so cute!
Willow: He's adorable!
Eda: Looks like we've got a new member of the family!
King: What are we gonna name him!?
Luke stands up, petting the pup who's sitting on his shoulder while the pup nuzzles his master.
Luke: This little guy's name is Repede! He's a wolf pup, and he's perfect!
Repede jumps off Luke's shoulder and onto Amity's just as she gets up. Amity giggles as he nuzzles her before jumping across Willow and Gus. Ghost, Clover, and Emmeline come to life to meet their new friend. Owlbert and Raven also come to life and fly down to join in.
The palismen all give their greetings to Repede. Emmeline and Repede shake paws/hands. He stands on his back legs and reaches out to Clover, Owlbert, and Raven, who give their greetings, too. His eyes then meet Ghost's, who gives a flirtatious wink, which he returns. The two palismen blush, already falling in love. Emmeline jumps onto Repede, hopping on him, prompting the wolf to turn onto his back and gently toss the chameleon up repeatedly. Willow, Gus, and King run over to join them.
King: King demands to play, too!
Willow: This just got 6x cuter!
Lilith smiles to watch Raven play with the other palismen, happy for Luke. She feels someone tug her coat and looks to see it is Amity, looking a little nervous.
Amity: Um… hi, Lilith. Can we talk? Lilith nods. So… listen. I just… want to apologize for before. We were talking and saying things, and I made things weird. I just… didn't know how to-
Lilith: Lilith just holds Amity's shoulder. No, Amity. Amity looks up as Lilith takes off her glasses. If anyone's to blame for the tension between us, it's me. I can understand why you'd resent me. It was my job to be your mentor, and instead, I used you to cheat at the Covention, and I was willing to do anything to please Belos… even if it meant hurting you. And I'm truly sorry for that, Amity.
Amity: No, no, Lilith, it's not like that. I never resented you at all. I mean, sure, I was mad you used me to cheat once and attacked me in the emperor's castle, but I never hated you for it.
Lilith: Really?
Amity: Yes, really. Ever since the Petrification Ceremony, I've been wanting to talk to you. I really have, but… I just didn't know what to say. I wanted to have with you what Luke has with Eda. They have a mother-and-son relationship. I wanted to have a mother-and-daughter relationship with someone since my own "mother" is a… She sees Lilith's eyes widen in surprise, and Amity blushes in embarrassment, realizing what she just said. Uh… but I-I'm not saying I see you as a mom, I-!
Lilith: Amity… you actually saw me as a mother figure? Amity blushes sheepishly as she looks down, nodding. Flattered, Lilith rubs her arm. I… had no idea. Now, I feel even worse for letting my own insecurities come between us. I am so sorry.
Amity: Amity just smiles. It's okay. I already forgave you. And… perhaps we've both been going about this all wrong. Maybe instead of trying to make things the way they were before, we could start over again and get to know each other for who we really are.
Lilith: Lilith smiles back. I'd be happy to, Amity Blight.
Lilith is taken aback when Amity suddenly embraces her in a hug. She smiles back before returning the hug, both of them making amends.
Luke watches happily as his palisman plays with the others. He had done it. He finally acquired his own staff. He's now an official witch. Eda touches his shoulder, and he turns to his mentor, who gives him a proud smile.
Eda: Way to go, kid. You're an official witch now.
Luke: Yeah. I guess I am. Thanks, Eda… for all of this.
Eda: Hey, the palisman coming to life is all on you. You made your wish, and it responded. It took months for Owlbert and Raven to come to life. If your old man were here right now, he'd be proud.
Luke: Speaking of which… we have a lot to talk about.
Eda: I know, Luke. I know. I'll explain everything.
Luke: No more lies or half-truths?
Eda: No lies or half-truths.
Amity: Hey.
Luke looks to Amity, walking up to him with a sly smile, which he gladly returns.
Luke: Hey.
Eda smirked and clicked her teeth, finger gunning at Luke before moving away to give the lovebirds some space.
Amity: Your new palisman is so cute.
Luke: He is pretty adorable, isn't he?
Amity: Just like his owner, who's equally handsome. Luke blushes and smiles at that. Congratulations on getting your own staff, Luke. You've earned it.
Luke: I couldn't have done it without you, Amity. Thanks for what you said back there; I really needed to hear that. And hey, since you still haven't figured out your future yet, maybe I can help you out with that. We can figure out both our futures together.
Amity: I'd like that. Amity takes hold of Luke's hand, wrapping her pinky around his. And thank you, Luke… for saving me… twice. You keep finding new ways to be my hero.
Amity gives Luke a deep kiss on the cheek, which causes him to freeze and turn red in shock. Amity recoils, becoming beet red to see she just did it again. Luke turns his head, eyes widened in shock, and Amity reels back, her mouth agape as she turns redder.
Amity: Uh…
Luke and Amity nervously chuckle, feeling more pleasantly awkward than ever. That's forgotten when Repede jumps into Luke's arms, and he holds up his new pet wolf, laughing as Amity steps away to join the others.
Luke: Little guy, we are gonna do a lot of awesome things together.
Repede: Woof! Woof!
Repede forms into Luke's new weapon: the Wolf Staff, which he clutches in his hands. Luke then holds up his staff, gathering electricity before he begins rapidly spinning it around with sheer expertise, creating a vortex of electricity, first spinning around horizontally and then vertically spinning down and up around his body. He spins it a couple times behind him, still releasing electricity. He spins it above his head, creating a spell large spell circle that unleashes a blast of lightning, and then follows up with a couple swings. He rests the staff on his back, electricity travelling up it until it reaches the top/Repede. Luke launches a couple of badass swings and twirls with his staff, followed up with a thrust, then flips to smash the ground with his staff, and finally launches two swings that unleash blades of electricity before striking a grand pose with an epic smirk.
Luke: Down and out.
Everyone has their jaws wide open in comical shock and amazement except Amity, who covers her mouth as she blushes.
Gus: Wow… just wow…
Eda regains her composure and just smiles proudly with her hands on her hips.
Eda: Oh yeah. This is gonna work.
Amity gives Luke a dreamy stare as she blushes wildly.
Amity: So dreamy…
She faints on her back, which Willow giggles at as Ghost tries to lick her awake.
Everyone is back in the Owl House wearing their regular clothes again. Eda has the projector set on the table and aimed at the wall. She's about to turn it on as everyone else, including Hooty, is sitting by the couch with Luke in the centre. All the palismen are mobile and sitting on their respective owners.
Eda: Now, Luke, I just want you to be sure. Are you ready for this?
Luke: Luke is serious. I'm ready, Eda. Play the message.
Eda: Alright then. Here we go. Eda turns the recording on and sits with everyone else. Owlbert nests on her head. There's no turning back now.
The screen reveals Sparda, and the kids gasp to see his resemblance to Luke, especially the hybrid himself.
Willow: Who is that!?
Gus: Dude! He looks like...
Luke: He looks like me...
Amity: Could that actually be…?
Luke: Dad…?
Lilith: Yes. The man on the screen is your father… Sparda Kresnik.
Sparda: January 13th, 2008.
The kids listen to the first half of the message Eda and Lilith had listened to.
While this was going on, Coven Scouts have arrived at the Knee near the area where the cave was. Hunter, back in full uniform and wearing his mask again, is leading them. He's standing on the field of snow with his staff, overlooking the Scouts and Abomatons searching around the area.
The captain runs over, and he turns to her.
Hunter: Captain, I trust you've found something.
Captain: Yes, Golden Guard. I believe we've found the cave Sparda's hideout is located in.
Hunter: Excellent! Show it to me. Then, prepare to turn it into rubble.
Captain: Um… that's the thing, sir. It's already rubble.
Hunter: What?
Captain: We found the cave, but it's collapsed. There was a fresh set of footprints facing in its direction. We believe a group of people went in and might've caused a cave-in.
Hunter: Hunter strokes his cheeks. Hmm. That is disturbing. I have a pretty good idea who the culprits are.
Captain: Do you think it might be the human and the Owl Lady?
Hunter: Most likely. Gather the scouts and make preparations to return to the castle so we can make our report. The emperor will want to know about this.
Captain: She salutes. Yes sir!
The captain runs off to gather the scouts, and Hunter slowly walks over to the crack Beowulf fell in, looking down in it.
Hunter: I wonder if it was really you, human. It wouldn't surprise me if it was.
Seconds after that tense moment, Hunter recoils when Flapjack flies out of his cloak, chirping happily. The masked boy angrily grabs the cardinal.
Hunter: I told you to stay put! He hides him back in his cloak. I can't be seen with you! I'm already risking my neck letting you live with me in the castle. Hunter holds his head, shaking it. Why did I agree to this?
With that done, Hunter proceeds to walk away from the crack. Suddenly, something bursts out of the crack and lands behind Hunter with a loud thud, though he's unfazed. Standing behind Hunter is a bruised and battered Beowulf who growls with rage.
Beowulf: I found you, seed of Sparda!
Hunter cooly turns around, facing the fully blinded Beowulf stalking towards him on all fours.
Beowulf: I told you that I remembered your rancid scent! No matter where you run, you can never hide from me!
Hunter says nothing and merely dismisses his staff. Beowulf proceeds to crush Hunter, but he flips up, and in an instant, he draws Yamato, slices Beowulf a couple times, and lands on his neck, striking a pose with his sword and scabbard. It all slowly sinks in for the monster, who is standing in shock.
Beowulf: You… you're not the one I faced before. But this smell… there are two of them! Hunter slowly sheathes his katana behind him. That excrement Sparda had-!
The moment Yamato is sheathed, Beowulf's entire face is sliced apart and falls to pieces before he could finish his sentence, releasing blood from his neck. Hunter flips off, landing beside the beheaded monster, who's body collapses. Hunter turns his head to face the body.
Hunter: Well, that was random. Not that I really care.
With Beowulf permanently dealt with, Hunter walks away, ready to leave and make his report to Belos.
Meanwhile, at the Owl House, Luke and the gang have listened to the first half of Sparda's message and are surprised by everything they've learned.
Gus: So, it's true! Sparda really was hiding in the Human Realm!
Amity: And Belos was executing devils! That's horrible!
Willow: I had no idea the emperor was this evil!
Luke: And what's with all that stuff my dad's saying about the Day of Unity? Free of wild magic?
Eda: Not sure I understand it myself, kid. Lily?
Lilith: I don't know much either. Belos never went into full detail about the Day of Unity, even with me.
King: Guys, listen. This is the part where we left off.
Sparda: I'm not sure if I can defeat Belos. I barely survived our first encounter, and he's likely to have grown stronger. So, should I fail… it will be up to my son to finish what I started.
Luke: This must be the part where he talks about me.
Sparda: Lilith, Qrow, Raine, and I were the first people Eda showed the Portal Door to. We… all tended to make frequent visits to the Human Realm since we were kids. It is WAY different from our world, no monsters, no magic, different systems, different people, but all in all, it wasn't so bad. We've had some interesting adventures there. He smiles fondly. It's also there I met a really pretty girl. The girl who would become my wife.
Amity: Is he talking about…?
Luke widens his eyes in anticipation.
Sparda: Aelita. She was the first human I engaged with in a proper conversation.
Luke: My mother? Her name was Aelita.
Luke looks down, smiling. He now knows the name of his birth mother: Aelita Kresnik. Luke looks to Eda and Lilith, the sisters nodding in confirmation for him.
Sparda: Well, to be more accurate, that happened after our first fight. And boy, she is freakishly strong for a human. I don't think any witch I know in the Boiling Isles is even that strong. She fought pretty well, too. I mean, she was no match for me, of course. But still, I was impressed.
King: Your mom and dad's first meeting was also their first fight?
Luke and Amity share a look, and upon remembering their first meeting and fight at the Covention, they blush and look away from each other.
Sparda: I'd love to tell you how we met, but I'd rather not make this video too long. All I can tell you is she was beautiful, smart, cool, and classy. And strong. My type of girl. She's one-of-a-kind. Even after I told her I'm a demon, she didn't treat me any differently. She liked me for who I am. She helped us learn about her world, and we helped her learn about ours. She became the sixth member of our team even though she couldn't go to Hexside with us. And the two of us… well, let's say after 2-3 months, we decided to get serious about our relationship and became more than just friends.
Amity and Willow fawn, realizing what Sparda was talking about.
Amity & Willow: Aww!
Luke looks to Amity, blushing and smiling, understanding how his father feels.
Sparda: After defeating a very powerful demon with me friends, I made my proposal and we got married. Aelita moved to the Demon Realm after that. The life we shared together was amazing. But, then 5 years later, Belos sent his lapdogs to kill me. So, I retaliated. It didn't work. After my partner and I survived our first encounter with Belos, we were branded as assassins. I escaped into the Human Realm. Losing to Belos put me in a state of depression. But Aelita pulled me out of my despair. Her kindness, her smile, and her tomboy attitude helped me overcome the guilt. This wasn't the end of our married life. We settled down in Gravesfield and Aelita helped me adapt to my new life in the Human Realm like I did for her in the Demon Realm. Of course, that didn't stop me from making a couple of visits to the Demon Realm, wrecking Belos' plans, saving some devils and wild witches he captured, visiting my friends, and helping as many people as we could, whether they liked us or not. Another 5 years later… we eventually had a son together…
The screen changes to show baby Luke sleeping in a crib.
Sparda: Lucifer. Our baby boy, Lucifer Kresnik.
Luke is shocked, immediately recognizing the baby in the projection is him.
Luke: That's me! That's me when I was a baby! I'm sure of it!
Everyone: Awwww!
Luke blushes in embarrassment, realizing and hearing everyone fawning over him as a baby.
Amity: Look at baby, Luke! He's so cute!
Willow: And adorable! Aww!
Lilith: Even my heart's melting at the sight of this!
Eda: I've gotta say, it's nice to see you as a little tyke again.
King: I admit, baby Luke is cute. But no one can outcute me.
Luke becomes redder with embarrassment.
Luke: I prefer to be called cool. His face drops, making everyone worry as they look back to the screen. My… my real name is Lucifer?
The screen goes back to Sparda smiling at the projector.
Sparda: The next year we spent with our son in our arms was perfect… He frowns in guilt. Until Eda and Qrow told me Belos had captured every devil and was preparing to petrify all of them. I knew I had to come back. My people were gonna die because of me, because of my first attempt on Belos' life. I had to make things right. I have a job to do here: To defeat Emperor Belos.
Tensions keep growing in the Owl House as the gang exchanges troubled looks.
Sparda: However, I'm not sure if I can win, much less survive. And my son would be in grave danger if anyone in this world discovered him to be half-demon, especially after everything that's happened.
The screen changes again, and the skies are dark now. Sparda lies baby Luke on an altar in the centre of some candles in a darkened room at their house. Sparda stands in front of baby Luke with the Yamato by his side. He traces a spell circle and sends it forward to engulf Luke. He brings up his scabbard and slowly unsheathes his sword, prepared to do what must be done. And even though he couldn't see her, Luke could sense Aelita was watching.
Sparda: If Lucifer were to use his magic when he's older, he'd be targeted and hunted down by this world's government. He'll be probed, dissected, and experimented on. And should I die in battle, he must be the one to stop Belos.
Amity: That's the sword the Golden Guard wields!
Luke: The Yamato!?
Hooty: What's he doing with it?
Sparda tosses the scabbard away and slowly brings up the katana, aiming it at Baby Luke to do what he must. Luke and everyone watch in sheer horror as Sparda brings down the Yamato, stabbing it into his infant son. Gus and Willow hug each other, King and Hooty are close to crying, and Eda and Lilith recoil in horror. Amity covers her mouth to stop herself screaming, and Luke's mouth is agape in shock to see what his own father did to him. The palismen hide behind their owners.
King: CLOSE MY EYES! MAKE ME UNSEE THIS!
Hooty wraps around King, covering his eyes.
Willow: He stabbed his own son!?
Eda: Wait, hold on! There's more!?
Baby Luke cries in fear but he isn't actually being stabbed. Yamato has phased right through baby Luke and Sparda twists the sword, digging it deeper. The Dark Knight removes the Yamato from baby Luke's chest, and an electrifying blue orb emerges from him, attached to the Yamato. He takes the orb, and it floats above his palm.
Sparda: In order to ensure my son's safety, there was only one thing I could do. I needed to separate man from devil with the strength of the Yamato.
Sparda looks down at his son, relieved to see his spell had worked and he didn't die. There was no wound and Luke's ears became round. He picks up his crying baby and hands him over to Aelita, who runs over to take her son in his arms, comforting him and rubbing his back.
Sparda: With my son's demonic half stripped of him, he became a full-blooded human with no magic. This was the only way to ensure his safety in the Human Realm.
Sparda is seen in another room, walking towards the Rebellion in its dormant form, lying on a table. He stops in front of it, giving it a stare.
Sparda: Using materials I scavenged after escaping Belos, and with help from Eda, I forged a brand-new sword, one that was made from a very special material: Demonite. A rare ore that has the power to repel magic and absorb elemental magic. And it's capable of so much more.
Luke brings out the Rebellion (handle form), staring at it.
Luke: The Rebellion.
Sparda picks up the Rebellion and opens the blade. To everyone's surprise, the blade is silver, like a normal sword, and not blue. The Dark Knight places the orb in front of the sword, and it absorbs it, sucking in Luke's demonic half.
Sparda: It's in this sword I sealed away my son's demonic power for safe-keeping and to prevent it from taking physical form.
After fully absorbing Luke's demon side, the sword changes into the blue colour everyone sees today, and the Electric Glyph appears. Rebellion surges with electricity as Sparda holds it up.
Sparda: By doing this, the sword was imbued with great power, giving it the potential to surpass even my own sword one day, which is why I had to make sure it wouldn't fall into the wrong hands. This sword is my gift to my son.
The screen goes back to Sparda, looking down with a look of mourning and regret.
Sparda: But then… things got complicated. It was all supposed to go so smoothly… I remove my son's demonic half, seal the sword I made for him, and leave him under the protection of my wife, all while I put an end to Belos. But… the emperor had finally found out I was hiding in the Human Realm. He found out about Eda's portal door. And when he did, the bastard sent assassins to kill me. These assassins weren't ordinary witches. They were the best in the business. One of them was even a devil. Luke and the gang recoil in surprise. I don't think even Belos knew. Otherwise, he would've killed her, too. Qrow, Eda, and I fought them off, and Aelita did everything she could to protect Lucifer, but… we lost him. Luke widens his eyes. By the time I made it, my wife was badly injured, and our son was gone. I looked everywhere around town for Lucifer, but he was nowhere to be found. He was gone. Sparda looks like he is on the verge of tears. Despite the clear pain that can be heard in Sparda's voice, he barely manages to steel his resolve. I would've searched more, but I had a job to do. Eda promised she'd search for Lucifer in my place and look after Aelita. Luke looks to Eda, and she nods in confirmation. After giving my wife a goodbye, I came back to the Demon Realm to finish what I started. But before that, there was one thing I needed to do.
Sparda is in the forest clearing where the Rebellion was found. The Dark Knight sticks the sword into the pedestal, creating a brief surge of electricity.
Sparda: I sealed away the new sword I forged with two spells. A barrier that only a human can get through and a spell that made it so only anyone with my blood in their veins is able to pull it out. I got to work after that. My partner and I raised an army of devils and wild witches to stop Belos after we convinced the other devils that Belos was already planning to kill them before I even attacked him. I thought we had a shot at winning, but we were betrayed. Lilith feared Sparda was going to say her name, but to her shock… he didn't. Someone ratted us out and told the bastard about our plans. He found our headquarters and staged an attack. Over half of us managed to escape, but the others were either captured for imprisonment, petrification, or execution. We've been hiding out here ever since.
Eda gives Lilith a sorrowful look as the elder Clawthorne Sister hugs herself, disappointed and ashamed of herself for what she did.
Sparda: We're still an army, just a little smaller. With our forces cut down in half, I don't know if we can defeat Belos now. But I'm still going to face him. If I don't… who will? I owe it to Aelita and to all the friends I've lost. I'll give all wild witches a reason to keep living and fighting and the courage to survive. If I can't win, I'd like to at least inspire some hope. If I'm unable to defeat Belos, then the task will fall upon my son, Lucifer. Luke widens his eyes again. I don't know when or how, but he'll be drawn here. I know he's alive. My son is out there somewhere. I can feel it. He's bound to come to the Demon Realm at some point in his life. And when that happens, it will be up to him to finish what I started. That's why I made sure my sword can only be pulled out by him. He has the potential to become the greatest witch and swordsman of both the Human and Demon Realms. He will hold the power to end Belos' reign of tyranny and avenge our brethren. I'd prefer to avoid placing a burden like this on him… but if I'm killed, he'll be our only hope of saving both worlds.
Luke, Eda, King, Willow, Gus, Amity, Lilith, Hooty, Repede, Owlbert, Clover, Emmeline, Ghost, and Raven can only watch with their eyes widening as they listen to Sparda's final message. They can hear the sadness and regret in his voice as he speaks, seeing he knows he may not survive, but he must fight and give all witches who aren't in a coven the hope to survive against Belos' reign. Sparda smiles sadly as he looks down.
Sparda: The life I've led has been one hell of a ride. I've gone on a lot of adventures, made plenty of friends, met a beautiful woman, and learned a lot about myself and who I wanted to be. I'll especially never forget the people I grew up with. Eda… Lilith… Raine… Qrow… Aelita… even though we're no longer together, I always felt you guys never really left my side. Our childhood in Hexside, the adventures we shared in both realms and the time we spent together. That's something I'll never forget. He places a hand over his heart. I'll always keep those memories close to my heart. They're all that keeps me going. The only wish I have for you guys that's left is that you don't close yourself off from anyone, especially each other. Stay united… for me… for the six of us.
Eda and Lilith both feel tears well up in their eyes as their palismen sit on top of them. Eda hugs herself, sniffing and letting a few tears leave her face just as Lilith pulls her in for a hug to cry with her.
Sparda: Lucifer, my son… I direct this final message to you. It's not right for me to force my vendetta against the emperor on you. But I'm doing it because I believe you're the only one who can defeat him and save both realms. Please, find it in your heart to forgive your stupid old man for being unable to be there for you. I really wish I arrived in time to save you and your mom. My biggest regret is that I won't be able to see you grow up to become the man I know you'll be. Sparda chuckles a little. Heck, by the time you see this, you'll probably be just as good-looking as me. But know this: you're my son, and I love you and your mother more than anything.
Luke is close to crying, trying to resist his tears
Luke: Dad…
Sparda: I don't know what the future will hold for you or what you'll choose to be, but I can at least give you one piece of advice: Dream Big. And with that, Sparda gives a sigh followed up with a playful chuckle. Welp, that was pretty out of character for me. This formal stuff is not my style. Now, if you excuse me… I have a resistance to remotivate and an emperor to dethrone and kill.
The message ends, and Luke walks up to where the screen is, staring until it turns off. Everyone remains silent for a while, Eda and Lilith looking down in sadness. The kids all look at Luke in sorrow as he mourns his parents.
Luke: Mom… Dad…
Amity: Oh, Luke… I'm so sorry.
Luke's eyes well up with tears, and he is close to letting his emotions erupt like he did at the Conformatorium, but he doesn't want to show any weakness again. Instead, he just sniffs and wipes his eyes, holding back his tears, and turns to his friends with a forced smile.
Luke: It's okay. At least I know the truth now. I know who I am and where I came from.
Eda: Luke… it's okay to cry if you want. No one's gonna hold it against you.
Luke: I'm not gonna cry. My parents are gone. Nothing's gonna change that.
King: But are you really okay with it, Luke?
Luke: I'm not gonna lie, this is… a lot to process, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. At least I know who my parents are and what happened to them. Luke looks down. So, it's true. Sparda really is my father. I really am half-human and half-demon.
Amity: So, what if you are?
Luke looks to see Willow, Gus, Amity, and King have walked up to him with their palismen beside them, all smiling at Luke.
Gus: We just want you to know that you being a hybrid doesn't change what we think about you.
Willow: Yeah. We don't care what you are. We're friends with WHO you are. You're you. And you're one of us.
Amity: You're our friend, Luke. That'll never change.
King: Yeah. You may be half-demon, and your real name might be Lucifer, but to us, you'll always be Luke the Human.
Eda and Lilith walk up with Owlbert and Raven on their shoulders, all smiling.
Eda: The same goes for us, kid.
Lilith: Being a hybrid doesn't change who you are to us, Luke.
Repede jumps onto Luke's shoulder, barking in agreement. Luke strokes his head and smiles, touched.
Luke: Thanks, amigos. You guys are true friends. So, Eda, you helped my dad escape to the human world?
Eda: I did. He became a wanted man after his first fight with Belos, so I used the portal door to have him hide out in the Human Realm. Of course, that never stopped him from making visits from time to time to help others like he usually does. Qrow and I visited him and Aelita a couple times to give them the latest gossip. And let me tell you, kiddo, your mom is one dynamite gal. I even got to meet you as a baby a couple times. You were pretty cute back then.
Luke: But there are still a few things I don't understand. If I'm half-witch, why don't I have magic like all other witches? There's gotta be a magic bile sack in me somewhere.
Eda: Remember what we saw, kid. Your dad used the power of the Yamato to separate man from devil. Or, in your case, baby from devil.
Lilith: Your demon half was stripped away from you and placed inside the Rebellion, turning you into a full human.
King: And Sparda sealed the Rebellion away, leaving it for Luke to take.
Eda: That's right, King. He never fully made it clear to me when we last spoke, but now, I understand when he sealed that sword away; he cast a spell that made it so only anyone with his blood is able to remove it.
Amity: And since Luke is Sparda's son, he has his blood in his veins.
Willow: That's how you were able to pull the sword out.
Gus: But what about Luke's devil powers? How did he unlock them at Grom?
Eda: My guess is that even though Luke's demonic half was stripped from him, there were still traces of demonic power inside him.
Luke: When I was trapped in Grom, I could hear Amity screaming and… I thought about the day Mom got shot and how much I refused to let that happen ever again.
Eda: The traces of demonic power in you must've reacted to those strong emotions you felt that day, which is how you were able to unlock a part of your power as a devil.
King: What about in the Conformatorium when he turned into a full devil?
Lilith: Luke, from what you told us, the Golden Guard stabbed you with your own sword, right?
Luke and Amity tense up from that reminder.
Luke: It's hard not to remember my own sword getting jammed into my chest.
Amity: I was there when it happened, too. Scariest moment of my life.
Lilith: It's likely when the Rebellion was plunged into you, you became reunited with your sealed demonic half. And coming into contact with someone who has the blood of Sparda must've awakened its true power, triggering the demonic power within you.
Luke: So, you're saying when the Golden Guard jammed my sword into my chest, I became half-human and half-demon again?
Eda: Yes, exactly. But you've been a human for over 13 years. As a result, your human half is more dominant, hence the reason why you can't do magic like us.
Gus: That would make sense. Your body is more used to being human.
King: But… what is the Day of Unity supposed to be about exactly? Sparda knew something about it that no one else did.
Lilith: And he didn't share it with any of us because he didn't want us to be in danger. After everything that just happened, I'm not sure even I know what the Day Unity is about anymore.
Willow: But why did Belos hunt down every single devil on the Boiling Isles?
Lilith: Belos viewed all devils as too powerful and a threat. He called them the embodiment of wild magic, as you just heard. He was afraid of them. And people often get rid of that which they fear. Which is why he… well…
Luke: Luke frowns. Wiped every devil out. But what did Dad mean it was his fault?
Lilith: Your father came close to defeating the emperor during their first encounter. He and his partner barely escaped with their lives. Although Belos had always intended to kill the devils, he used your father's actions to go through with it much sooner than he planned.
Eda: A couple years after, Belos had cracked down and captured almost every single devil. Spard felt guilty and that he had to finish what he started. But then… Belos sent those assassins to attack us in the Human Realm. While we fought them off, your mom tried to get you as far away as possible from them. But…
Luke: What happened?
Eda: The leader of the assassins caught up to her. Aelita fought as hard as she could to protect you. But… you ended up getting lost in the skirmish. And as strong as your mom was, she took a serious beating. Aelita was on the ground, covered in blood, and the woman who tried to kill you both had her in her grip. You were nowhere in sight, so we assumed your mom left you somewhere safe. We didn't wanna believe you were dead. When that monster tortured your mom, your old man went ballistic and gave the lady a real beating before killing her as brutally as possible. He cut out her eye and cut off one of her arms. It was… one of the very few times I ever saw your dad so angry. We took care of the other assassins, but your mom was badly injured.
Luke: So, then, she's…
Eda: No. While Sparda went looking for you, I treated Aelita's injuries. Your mom was injured but not dead. She snorts. She's too tough to let some assassin kill her.
Tears threaten to leak out of Luke's eyes at this joyous revelation for him, his voice slightly broken. His mother… his birth mother is alive. She's truly alive!
Luke: So, she's alive…
Eda: That's right, kiddo. She's alive.
The rest of the gang smiles for their leader.
Willow: Luke, that's wonderful! This is great news!
Luke: What about my dad? What happened next?
Eda: Your dad searched for a few days, but he couldn't find you. And since he had a job to do back here, I offered to look for you in his place while looking after Aelita. After that, Spard came back to the Demon Realm to raise an army.
Gus: But that didn't quite work out 'cause he was betrayed, right?
Luke's face contorts with rage.
Luke: Who opened their big mouth and ratted my dad out?
Lilith sweats nervously, gulping in fear. She is about to speak, but Eda beats her to it.
Eda: We don't know. Eda gives Lilith a wink, and she smiles gratefully. But despite all that, your old man was no quitter. Even with his army cut down in half, he went to face Belos one last time.
Luke: Luke looks down in sorrow. And in the end, my dad lost the battle, didn't he? Belos killed him… along with every other devil.
Amity takes hold of Luke's hands. King jumps onto his shoulder, Repede nuzzles his face, and Gus and Willow put their hands on his shoulders, trying to comfort him. Eda and Lilith look down in sorrow for Luke and their dear friend.
Eda: I'm sorry, Luke. He did.
After a few seconds of mourning for Sparda, Luke's face contorts with determination and seriousness.
Luke: Then I'll just have to kick Belos' ugly ass myself. Everyone looks at Luke in surprise. I don't know what the Day of Unity is about, but my dad didn't trust it or Belos. And neither do I, so I'm going to finish what my old man started and end Belos' reign. I don't know how, but I'll figure something out.
The rest of the kids smile at Luke's determination.
Gus: You mean, WE'LL figure something out.
Amity: We're with you, Luke. You don't have to do any of this alone.
Willow: Yeah, we've got your back, thick and thin.
King: Whatever Belos is planning, we'll find a way to stop it together.
Amity: And if your mom really is alive, we'll do everything we can to find her, Luke.
Luke: Thanks, amigos.
The Hex-Squad and King share a group hug, with their palismen joining in. Eda sniffs at the scene, tears welling up in her eyes. Lilith and Hooty give her teasing looks.
Eda: They grow up so fast.
Hooty: Eda, are you crying?
Eda: No, I'm just allergic to happiness.
Lilith: Lilith grabs her shoulders. Sure, you are, you big softy. Sure, you are.
Hooty: Hey, wait! I just realized something!
The gang pulls away from the hug to look at Hooty.
Hooty: Sparda is supposed to be Luke's dad, right?
Lilith: Right.
Hooty: And Qrow is supposed to be his dad's stepbrother, right?
Luke: Wait, I'm seeing Hooty's point. If Qrow's supposed to be my dad's stepbrother, does that mean Qrow is…?
Eda: Eda laughs and snorts. I was wondering when that'd be brought up. That's right, kid. Qrow is your step-uncle.
This next revelation has the Hex-Squad's jaws agape in disbelief. Luke is the nephew of the Head of the Weaponry Coven!?
Willow: Is this the part where one of us faints?
Gus: I'm so on it.
Gus dramatically faints, falling on his back from this revelation.
After everyone leaves to go back to their respective homes, Luke is standing on the balcony, leaning his arms on the railing and overlooking Bonesborough in deep contemplation as he tries to process everything he's learned about himself, his parents, his uncle, and the Day of Unity. He takes out his amulet, giving it a deep look until Repede jumps onto the railing to give a whine. Luke smiles and pets him for it.
Luke: Oh, hey. You're sticking with me, aren't you, little guy?
Eda: It's part of the bonding.
Luke turns his head to see Eda and King walk up to him. King joins Repede on the railing.
Eda: Palismen are lifelong partners. Once it meets its witch, the two become inseparable. Eda walks over, leaning on the railings and stroking Repede, who enjoys it. I imagine this little guy will be following you for a very long time. You're bonded for life.
Luke: I think I can get used to that.
Eda: You looking at that amulet again?
Luke: Yeah. It helps me think about my parents.
Eda: You know that amulet actually belonged to Aelita.
Luke: Luke looks up. This was Mom's?
Eda: Yup. It's precious to her. Sparda gave it to her as a gift for their first date.
Luke & King: Oooh!
Eda: Eda chuckles. She wore it with her everywhere she went, swearing she'd never take it off.
Luke: So… how do you have a copy of it?
Eda: Eda brought out the duplicate pink amulet. This is actually your amulet's other half. Aelita split it in two the day you were born. She gave one half to you and kept the other for herself. After we parted ways, she gave this to me to remember her by. I've kept it with me all these years.
She looks at the amulet sadly, and Luke frowns.
Luke: Eda… if my mom is alive… where has she been all this time? Is she in the Demon Realm?
Eda: No, she's in the Human Realm. But I can't tell you where she is. When Sparda died… poor Aelita was devastated. It was like she lost a part of herself. It didn't help that we looked everywhere around Gravesfield but couldn't find you. We searched for weeks, but there wasn't a trace of you anywhere. Your mom lost everything that day.
Luke: So… what happened to my mom?
Eda: After losing her husband and her son… Aelita was so heartbroken she felt she could no longer stay in Gravesfield. It held too many memories for her. So, she left town. She said she needed time to find herself. And she swore she'd become stronger so she'd never lose anyone ever again.
Luke: And you don't know where she could be?
Eda: Sorry, kid. I wish I did. But Aelita wanted to be away from anything to do with magic. And who can blame her after what she went through? She left town with no means for us to contact her. But there's no doubt in my mind she's out there, continuing her travels.
Luke: If my mom really is out there somewhere, I gotta find her.
King: I know how you feel.
Eda: Knowing you, I'm sure you'll find her, Luke. I know Aelita would be insanely happy to find you alive.
Luke and Eda look off into the town. Owlbert flies down near Repede, the two playing together. Eda frowns in regret, looking to Luke for an overdue apology and putting the amulet in her hair.
Eda: Luke. I'm so sorry I kept this from you. I just wasn't fully sure. And when I was… I just wasn't sure how you'd react to it all. But I should've said something instead of keeping this a secret from you.
Luke taps her face with a finger. Eda sees Luke smiling kindly.
Luke: It's okay, E. You were just looking out for me. And I appreciate that. No more secrets between us, okay?
Eda: Eda smiles back. No more secrets. I promise.
Luke: Eda. What was my mom, Aelita, like? I don't know much about her. Is there anything you can tell me? Was she beautiful?
Eda: Eda smiles fondly. Oh, she's beautiful. Your mom was one heck of a gal when we were kids. She's kind-hearted, and she had no problem with us being demons. In fact, she found it pretty cool. She had a love for fantasy books and anime in your realm and a love for adventure unlike any human I've ever met, which I imagine she passed down to you. Luke blushes a little. Of course, even though your mom was gentle by nature, sometimes she was an out-of-control thug. Luke raised his eye a little. Like a certain kid I know, she had a tendency to pick fights with jerks who wronged her or picked on others.
Luke: My mom got into fights? Was she a martial artist or something?
Eda: Oh, she was a martial artist, alright. She was also a boxer, wrestler, and street fighter, and I think she did other kinds of human fighting styles. Your mom was one of the best fighters I ever met, especially for a human. Ever since she was little, she was always freakishly strong. Even as a teenager, she could lift a car over her head without breaking sweat.
Luke: Seriously!? My mom was that strong!?
King: Okay, Luke I get since he's part-witch, but his mom? Are you sure she's human?
Eda: When I first saw her fight, she was so strong I actually did wonder if she was a witch in disguise. But, nope, she was 100% human.
Luke: Whoa. My mom sounds amazing.
Eda: She is. Aelita never stopped pushing herself to get stronger. And she ruled when it came to human sports. Let's just say she was a bit of a fitness freak. If you thought my mom's muscle gain ridiculous, just wait 'till you see Aelita. She puts her to shame. I guess you could say she was a bit of a tomboy and a really sassy one at that, which is a quality I liked. Luke chuckles a little. But despite that, she was a sweet person with a good heart. And brave, too. The horrors of our world surprised her, but she wasn't scared. She went on dozens of adventures with us when we were kids and boy, was she fearless. She wasn't afraid to take on any dangers she faced with us, always adapting and improvising. She grew to love our world, and we grew to love hers.
Luke: And… Sparda? My dad? Is there more you can tell me about him? I mean, I imagine he was more good-looking and badass than I am.
Eda: Eda chuckles and snorts. Oh, he was "badass," alright. Eda smiles at her student/child and fondly looks up at the sky. He was tough. Extremely powerful. Arrogant and very proud. He had a certain tendency to bite off more than he could chew and get himself in trouble… She slyly looks at Luke. Just like his son here. Luke rubs the back of his head slightly. But through all that, he went on a lot of adventures. He travelled around the Isles, helped a lot of witches and demons, fought monsters, and became a real legend. And he didn't need to be in a coven of any kind. You know, the only reason I was the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles is because your dad wasn't around anymore.
Luke: Luke raises his eyes in surprise. You mean… my dad used to be the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles?
Eda: He wasn't just the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles. He was the greatest witch. And he was the greatest swordsman, too. He was the bravest man I ever knew, albeit a bit of a smart aleck. And your mom was a total brat, which was one of the reasons why they were perfect for each other. But hey, I like brats and smart alecks. Luke chuckles at that, which is another quality he has from his parents. Me, Lily, Sparda, Qrow, Raine, and Aelita… we weren't so different from you and your friends. We were our own friend group, and we went on a lot of adventures together. And Sparda… was like the brother I never had, for both me and Lily. And we loved him like a brother.
Luke: Wow. My dad sounds like a really cool guy.
Eda: He was. But what really surprised people was how kind he was. He cared a lot about his friends and looked out for them 'till the end… She fondly looks at Luke. Just like his son.
Luke returns her smile.
Luke: You know, now that I think about it… the day we met at market wasn't the first time we met, huh, teach?
Eda: That's right. I remember meeting when you were just a baby. You were pretty adorable back then kiddo. There was no denying. Even cuter than King.
King: I resent that.
Eda looks back down in guilt.
Eda: Part of me always felt guilty for letting down your parents. Aelita and I looked everywhere in town, but couldn't find you anywhere. Seeing you alive… I can't tell you how happy it makes me.
Luke: Thanks Eda. And… don't beat yourself up over not being able to find me. That wasn't your fault. Besides, I'm still alive, aren't I?
Eda: Yeah. You're here now and that's what matters. Thanks, kiddo.
Luke looks back down, thinking again.
Luke: So, Qrow's the only living relative I have in the Demon Realm. But… why is my uncle working for the emperor? How could he work for the bastard who killed his brother?
Eda: Eda frowns. I've been asking myself the same question. Qrow was a close friend of ours. He never really liked the idea of joining covens either when we were kids. Heck, he said he'd shoot himself if he ever joined a coven. He's the last person you'd EVER expect to join one. Why he joined the Weaponry Coven has always confused me, especially after Belos killed his only brother.
Luke: He's gotta have his reasons. I mean, I've fought my uncle. He's not a bad guy. He wanted to take Rebellion from me, but he decided to let me keep it. And from the way he talks, he doesn't even seem to respect Belos all that much.
Eda: I've noticed that, too. Even after all these years, he's still a good man, which is why I want to understand why one of my closest friends is working for the emperor. She smiles. But, hey, on the bright side, at least you still have family living here on the Isles.
Luke: Yeah. Luke looks out into town, smiling. It's nice to know my family's not completely dead.
Eda: Aside from your uncle, your folks were incredible people, kiddo. She places a hand on Luke's shoulder as they face each other. And they gave birth to an incredible kid. If your parents were here, they'd be proud to see the man you are right now.
Luke: Thanks, Eda. I really appreciate you telling me about all this.
Eda: Hey, don't mention it. And if you ever want to hear any stories about your mom and dad, I'd be glad to tell you.
King: King jumps on Luke's shoulder. And if you ever need someone to comfort you on the topics of recent revelations about yourself, I'm available, Luke.
Luke: Thanks, little bro. Luke grabs one of the sides of his hair. There's just one last thing I gotta do.
Luke is in the bathroom, standing in front of a mirror above the sink. He tugs a side of his hair again with a smile.
Luke: Think it's time for me to make a change.
Repede: Woof!
Luke looks to see Repede standing on the sink with a spray of blue hair dye in his mouth, which he offers up to Luke. With a grateful smile, the human boy takes it and pets Repede, which the wolf enjoys.
Luke: Thanks, boy. You're pretty handy, aren't you?
He looks at the hair spray with a grin and back to the mirror, ready to make his change.
Eda and King are in the living room looking over some pictures and books.
King: If Luke's able to find out who his dad is and what he looks like, then maybe there's still hope for me. Maybe I can still find out who I am, too.
Eda: That's the spirit. Eda strokes King's head. We'll keep looking for your dad, too, King. I wouldn't be surprised if he was looking for you right now.
Luke: Luke steps in through the door. I'm back.
Eda and King gasp to see Luke (with Repede on his shoulder) has updated his look.
Luke's trousers are dark brown, his sleeveless hoodie is navy blue, and his t-shirt and boots remain the same, but the most surprising change is his hair, which has now been dyed dark blue like his father, only with some black remaining on his sideburns and one of his hair spikes. Right now, his goggles are worn around his neck.
He spreads his hands, happily presenting himself.
Luke: So? How do I look?
Eda walks up with King and Owlbert on her shoulders, giving a whistle.
Eda: Love the new look, kid, especially the hair colour.
Owlbert chirps in agreement.
King: Any special reason why you've dyed your hair?
Luke: After everything that's happened, I thought it was time for a change. Plus, my dad's hair was blue, and my hair goes blue whenever I go devil, so I figured it fits.
Eda: Can't argue with that logic.
Luke: Luke sheepishly rubs the back of his head. Though, I won't deny, there is another person I'm changing my hair colour for.
Eda and King give teasing looks, knowing who Luke's talking about.
King: Ooh. Does this person have purple hair?
Eda: And are you changing your hair colour to go with said purple?
Luke: Luke blushes. Maybe… and her hair is lilac, not purple.
Eda & King: Awww!
Eda walks over, ruffling Luke's hair.
Eda: Well, whatever the reason, the blue hair suits you, kiddo. You look as good as your father did when he was your age.
Luke: Thanks, teach.
Eda reaches into her hair.
Eda: By the way, I've got something I've been meaning to give you.
She gives Luke a photo frame from her hair, the one from the knee. Luke takes it and is surprised to see it's a picture of him and his birth family.
There was a beautiful woman with purplish-blue eyes, short black hair reaching the end of her neck, dyed pink at the front and partly at the back and a face that makes her appear to be in her mid 20's. She also wore the pink amulet around her neck. Thewoman is Luke's mother, Aelita Kresnik.
Aelita held baby Luke in her arms and Sparda was stood next to her, an arm wrapped around her and his free hand in his pocket. Both of them were smiling with their baby.
Eda: I found this in Spard's hideout.
Luke: The only photo of my birth family. Wait, that woman… is that…?
Eda: Yup. That's Aelita.
Luke: That's my mom? She's… beautiful. Go figure, right? Pretty mama, handsome daddy. That adds up to… Luke points his thumbs to himself as he clicks his tongue. This guy.
Eda: Eda rolls her eyes, bemused. Well, nice to see recent revelations haven't made you any less of a braggart. By the way, I believe this belongs to you.
From out of her hair again, Eda offers up the other half of Luke's amulet.
Luke: The other half of my mom's amulet? You're giving it to me?
Eda: Of course. It belonged to your mom, after all. Your parents would want you to have it.
Luke brings out his half of the amulet, looking at the other half and then smiling gratefully at Eda.
Luke: Thanks, teach.
Luke puts the photo aside and takes the other half of the amulet from Eda, taking off his own and joining both amulets together, turning them into one Perfect Amulet. The two gems glow blue.
Luke: Way past cool!
Luke puts his goggles back on and puts the completed amulet around his neck, fully embracing who his real parents are and where he came from.
Somewhere in the Human Realm in the city of Los Angelos, it is dark and cloudy and sounds of fighting can be heard coming from an empty street. A thug was suddenly sent flying, hitting the ground, unconscious. A shadow of someone could be seen pummelling more thugs, throwing them around like ragdolls. Dozens of street thugs were laid on the ground, beaten, bruised and bleeding (a couple with their teethes knocked out).
One thug landed in a trash can, the other crashes through an empty store window, another is sent smashing into a telephone booth, etc. More thugs got the living daylights punched out of them.
Judging by the voice and grunts of the fighter, it's clearly a woman. And that woman is as tall as Eda. She's wearing a pink sweater under a small hooded vest, dark blue jeans and white sneakers. Her hood shrouded only the top half of her face. The bottom half and her hands show her skin is white.
Right now, the woman is pounding a larger thug, twice her size and height but that didn't save him as the woman kept delivering hard martial punches to his stomach and face, adding a couple of slaps. She then focuses faster punches to his stomach, before clenching her fist hard to launch an uppercut to the chin, sending the thug flying and crashing near another large thug, both barely conscious. The woman gives a smug smirk as she walks over to both men, grabs their necks and lifts them off the ground with no effort. She clutches their necks, making them choke before smashing their heads together, knocking them out and tossing them to the ground.
Woman: That was fun, I guess.
Suddenly, a gunshot was fired and by instinct, she leans her head to dodge the bullet. She turns around to see it came from another thug with a gun. He was shocked for a moment before shaking it off and continued to fire more shots, but she just approached him while dodging every bullet with little to no effort. He quickly tries to reload but the woman got in front of him at inhumane speed, snatching the gun and crushing it.
Woman: So…what's your plan now? I hope for your sake, it's a good one.
Terrified, the thug ran for his life towards a truck, and the woman quirked an eyebrow at the audience in confusion. Once the thug reached the truck, he jumped inside and starts the engine. But when he tries to drive away, the entire truck trembles and moves around on its own.
Thug: What going on?!
The hooded woman is actually slowly lifting the heavy truck from underneath with an effortless grunt. Soon she held it overhead with one-hand and tosses it. The truck crashes upside down, getting wrecked. The driver is comically unconscious but lucky to be alive, the airbags activating.
With that business over, the hooded woman dusts off her hands with scoff.
Woman: Hmph. Pathetic.
The woman looks around at the dozens of thugs just beaten to a pulp by her.
Woman: This many guys against one lady, and you still couldn't beat me? You boys could at least try to make this a challenge for me. The woman stretches a little. I'm feeling out of shape just from fighting you weaklings.
She hears the distant sound of police sirens.
Woman: And that's my cue. See you boys.
The woman was walking down the streets, hands in her pockets with a stony expression.
Inside an apartment, the woman walked in to what appeared to be her bedroom, turning on the lights. The room was rather large yellow walls, having a bedroom, a couple desks and drawers, a full body mirror and another mirror on one of the desks, a wardrobe, some posters and there were heavy dumbbells and barbells lying around.
She walks past a drawer with a photo frame on it. It was the photo of Baby Luke, Sparda and Aelita.
The woman removes her hood and turns as she elegantly flicks and frees her hair, revealing herself to be a beautiful woman whose face makes it look she's in her mid 20's. Her eyes are purplish-blue, her hair is slightly past shoulder length and coloured black. The front and half the back are dyed pink. She has a large pink bang hanging in front of her forehead and two light pink bangs hanging down the side of her face. She also appears to have a small scar hanging over her left eyebrow.
This woman is none other than Aelita Kresnik, Luke's birth mother and Sparda's wife, alive and well like Eda said. She shook her head, waving her beautiful hair.
Aelita: Nothing ever changes.
She takes off her hoodie, throwing it onto her bed.
Aelita: No one ever learns.
Aelita sexily took off her sweater next, tossing it to her bed as well.
With nothing but her jeans, sneakers and a small, thin dark pink bikini top now, it is revealed Aelita has an unbelievably muscular physique. Her body was slender and lean but she had insanely defined muscles beyond that of a bodybuilder who's been weight lifting their entire life.
Though she was not big and bulky, Aelita definitely had very lean and powerful muscles consisting of sculpted biceps without her arms being big.
Her back muscles have a ridiculous amount of definition.
Her breasts were so flat it looks like she doesn't have any. Her chest muscles and pecs are dominant.
And to top it off, she has shredded 10-pack abs and obliques and it looks like she has no ounce of body fat in her.
No one would notice any of this due to Aelita's sweater.
Aelita stood in front of her full body mirror, grunting and doing a couple stretches. She ends her stretches by holding her arms up and flexing and bulging her shredded 10-pack abs. She strikes a sexy pose, placing a hand on her hip and inspecting her physique.
Aelita: You'd think by now they'd figure out that I'm the last person they should pick a fight with.
Aelita then strikes a sexy double biceps pose, flexing her arms. She grinned at one of her biceps, flexing and bulging it hard with a vein threatening to pop off.
Aelita: Especially with muscles like mine.
After inspecting her shape, Aelita sat down in front of her desk mirror, grabbing a hairbrush and begins brushing the back of her hair with it.
Aelita: But I guess that's how it is when you're pretty much the strongest human on Earth.
After tidying herself up, Aelita is at the rooftop of the apartment, sat at the edge, looking into the night sky and taking in the fresh breeze, free from the streets. She takes a deep breath and sighs in longing and sadness. She took out the photo of her family, softly touching it.
Aelita: Sparda… I miss you…
However, she's taken out of her thoughts when she feels a sudden soft breeze of wind from behind that causes her to gasp. It prompted her to stand, pocket photo and turn around, holding her hair as she looks into the direction of the breeze then back to the moon. It was as though she felt a presence in the wind, telling her something… about someone.
Aelita: What was that? Wait… Lucifer…?
After a few seconds of staring ahead where the wind went, Aelita frowns.
Aelita: Yeah, right. You're just imagining things. She sat back down, depressed. My son… my husband… they're gone. The life I could've had, is gone. There's no getting it back. I accepted that a long time ago.
Aelita looks up in sadness upon recalling terrible memories. However, she is unaware that her son is alive.
We go back to the Owl House where Luke is in his room, lights off, and in his pyjamas. He has his phone on and is recording another video for Camila.
Luke: Hola, Mama. You like my new hair colour)? I think it suits me. Today's been really crazy. I finally got my witch's staff and met my palisman. Luke presents Repede, who happily pants in front of the phone screen. Here he is right now, the new member of our family, Repede. Say hi, boy.
Repede: Woof! Woof!
Luke: Luke moves him away and puts him down. He's pretty cute, isn't he? Hope you don't mind him living in our house. Don't worry, he's trained. And get this: I've found out who my real parents are. My mom's a human named Aelita who used to live in Gravesfield. And my dad is a witch, the Legendary Dark Knight Sparda. He was old friends with Eda and Lilith. You know what this means?! I'm half-human, half-demon. I know, it's crazy. But it explains a lot about me, not that I mind. I'm still me, hybrid or not. Ooh! And get this! I've got an uncle living here on the Boiling Isles, and he's Head of the Weaponry Coven! Don't know why, but right now, I'm hoping to see him again for a talk. And look what I got.
Luke presents the completed amulet.
Luke: My mom's amulet had a twin. And I brought them together. Guess what else. My mom is alive! She's somewhere out in the Human Realm! I don't know where she is or how I'll find her, but I'll figure it out when I get. You know… even though I've found out who my real parents are, it doesn't change how I feel about you or Papa. You guys raised me my entire life. You're both still my parents, even though Papa's not around anymore. I just hope me being half-demon doesn't change how you see me. I still see you as my mom. I don't know what I truly want for my future, but I'm hoping when I get home, you can help me figure it out. It's hard to picture a future without you. He continues smiling. I can't wait to introduce you to Repede, Eda, King, and all the friends I've made here. He scratches his hair, blushing a little. I also met this girl here who I think I have a crush on, but I'm not getting my hopes up. She is really cool. I think you'd like her.
He looks back at the screen with a big smile.
Luke: I don't know what it is Belos is planning, but whatever it is, he won't succeed. I'll stop that horned freak and avenge my father. And soon, I'll be coming home. Te quiero, Mama.
He turns the recording off and sends it. As usual, it fails, but Luke isn't bothered this time as it feels good for him to let that out. He lies on his bed, placing the picture Eda had given him of him and his birth parents beside the one of him and Camilla. He smiles at it, even more so when Repede barks and lies beside him; both share a smile.
Luke: You wanna sleep with me, little guy?
Repede: Woof!
Luke: Luke widens his eyes, surprised. Hey… I think I understood that. He chuckles. Weird. Can you say anything else?
Repede: Woof, woof! Woof!
Luke: This is so cool!
Eda and King secretly listen in from Luke's door with smiles on their faces to see Luke have his smile back. They exchange looks.
King: Mind if I sleep with you today? I think I'll give these two some space.
Eda: Works for me.
The stars and the moon shine brightly in the sky, as bright as Luke's future is starting to look now.
Luke: What else can you say? I wanna know you more.
Repede: Woof! Woof, woof!
Luke finally has his own palisman staff! Meet Repede the Wolf Pup! So many twists, Luke being the half-breed Son of Sparda, the truth behind the extinction of devils, and Luke gaining his magic staff. And most importantly… Luke's mother, Aelita Kresnik is alive! But it raises questions. What is the Day of Unity really about? What did Sparda know that no one else did? How will Luke find his mother when he has no means of reaching her? How did Luke end up with Camilla? And most importantly… will Luke and Amity get together!?
Coming up next, Luke and King put Repede to the test, training together for a big race on a mission to get a message out to King's dad. Eda worries she'll be all alone again when Luke and King return to their respective families, but a run-in with an old flame pulls her out of that depression.

Repede's design was inspired from an animal character of the same name from one of my favourite games: Tales of Vesperia. And I say it works perfectly. You're probably wondering how Repede's appearance Mid-Season 2 will affect "Thanks to Them" and "For the Future". I have ideas, but we'll cross the bridge when we get there.
What did you think of Aelita's introduction anyway? And her design? Luke's birth mother is as snarky as her son and husband. And like her son, she's a martial artist and a buff one at that. You might wonder how she looks so young despite being in her 40's. Well, it's not just because she works out a lot. There's a magical reason behind that. I can confirm she's not secretly part-demon or witch. She's 100% human. The reason behind her youthful appearance is also partly the reason why she's so insanely strong. The muscles however are a result of her own training combined with the reason behind her youthfulness. Read my art description of her in deviantart if you wish to know more.
Hope no one has a problem with Aelita's muscular physique. And I'll be doing the same with Willow and Amity in later chapters of Season 2 and 3.
Later!
